This is a hard class but not impossible. Mrs. Graybeal outlines pretty much exactly what she expects us to know, and I think she's a good instructor. She will also give you personal tax advise as it relats to class and tells interesting stories.
She is a very good professor. Unfortunately, I think she only teaches in the summer. She makes class very enjoyable and relates a lot of stuff from the material to cases she worked when she was employed by the IRS. Take her if you can.
Great professor! She makes material very easy to understand. Her tests are hard, so study a lot. If you are a slacker do not take it. If you want to learn, she is the best.
Worst experience ever! I've flown through my accounting classes with all A's and actually nejoyed my major until I took her class. I did not learn ONE THING and struggled through it. I failed her tests every time. Do not take her!!!
very nice lady. tests are a bit hard but i got a "B" in the class. study handouts and you will do fine. very helpful but sometimes very confusing when she tries to answer your questions.
The most helpful acctng professor you will have at UCF. She gives you exactly what you need to know for the test, all you have to do is STUDY!! Dont whine and expect her to give you everything, be responsible and come to class, and if u miss class make sure you pick up the work. She wants u to learn
I HATE accounting, but this class wasn't that bad. Gives out exactly what will be on the test, just ALOT of material covered. Grading is very fair, and she is genuinely interested in you learning. High recommend if you have to take ACG 3131.
Graybeal is the most WONDERFUL professor I have had at UCF. She is smart, easy to understand, clear on what will be on tests, VERY eager to help. On top of that, she is interesting to listen to and tells good stories in class. I would take her for every class if I could!!! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!!
She is the BEST teacher at UCF!!!! Very clear on what she expects, truly cares about her students learning, more than willing to help, gets to know you on a personal level b/c she wants to!!! The most interesting, real life stories that you can relate to and help you remember and understand the material!!!! THE GREATEST!!!! Highly Recommended!!!!
She is a very helpful professor, but her exams are so difficult. Her exams usually contain multiple choices and the other half you have to work out. It is not an easy class.
I loved her classes and looked forward to going to them. She makes the class fun and really cares. Some of her test questions are a little tricky, but she is more than fair. Gives you lots of handouts, curves a lot, and tells you what you need to know for the tests.
What a Joke! Lame exams and a trillion handouts. Buddies up with 3 or 4 students in the class and if your not one then better work twice as hard.
Made "A" and "B" in previous accounting classes, but I'm failing Graybeal's class... It's a very tough class. She is helpful and all, but her exams are killers! Good luck to you all!
I took her for acg3131, dont whine if you can not hack the work. Yes her tests are challenging(hint ask her during the test about a few questions and she will tell you if it is wrong!!) She is more than helpful to her students and since she actually works in the field I think that I got more for my money in this class and was prepared more for th
She has worked for the IRS & has her own CPA firm. She cares about her students as people & will help you in any way possible. She gives handwritten feedback on exams & takes the time to ensure that students truly know the material before they leave her classroom. She has been, by far the most influential and caring professor that I have ever had.
This is a difficult class. Study hard for her exams or else you will not pass the class. I wouldn't recommend Graybeal to my friends.
this class was easy and she was the most helpful teacher ive ever had. you gotta be kidding if you think her tests are too hard. i got an A and i would definetly recommend her to anyone
If you like an organized teacher and class, don't take Graybeal. She makes you do tons of handouts but only one or two alike problems on there will be on her tests. For those who prefer notes-- she doesn't give any! You basically have to take your own notes and learn on your own. Take someone else.
Class is difficult, but if you study hard an "A" is very achievable. Graybeal is more then willing to help anyone. She doesnt give notes but the handouts do help understand the material. Great teacher, I would recommend. Learned alot
I took the same class the semester before with a different teacher and didn't pass it. I passed her class and enjoyed it in the process. Mrs. Graybeal is the best professor I've had for accounting. She is very helpful inside and outside of the class room. Its true, she does give out lots of handouts, but if you study them you'll do fine.
Awesome teacher, I highly recommend her. I'm not good at accounting, but managed to pass. You can work with others on a project, which HELPS your grade greatly it's striaght forward, and she practically gives out A's.Exams on the other hand you got to put forth the effort and study,so study the handouts! attendance is not required, very easy going
Need to know accounting before you take Dr. Graybeal. She loves talking about accounting, but doesn't like teaching it. Her exams are not easy so study hard for them.
This teacher definitely knows her accounting, but she is not a very clear teacher. She is WAY tough, so if you don't have the time, get out of this class fast. She will warn you in the beginning of the semester, they seem like empty threats but are turning out to be true. She doesn't curve. Some quiz/participation points. Good luck...
Graybeal is a good teacher. The material is difficult to start with and she does a good job of explaining it. You can't slack for even one class because the quizzes can be tricky. Come to class with her handout problems completed. Show her respect and she will be happy to help you.
She's very disorganized. Might be a good accountant, but definitely not a good teacher. She does crappy job on teaching class materials. If you dont know accounting well, try not to take her.
If you don't go to class everyday, you're bound to miss something important. Her tests are challenging and you don't get the testing style til the final but if you show her that you're really putting forthe the effort, you'll do fine in the class.
Spreads everything out...no course organization. Can be helpful for students outside of class.
The only good thing about her is she does curve! Grade easy on the project. Nothing else
The class is boring and the tests are hard.
Tests are difficult. Trying to take notes in her class is impossible. Tends to focus on only 4-5 students when lecturing, leaving the rest of us just guessing. She does curve, but most of the class got 40s on the first test, so it doesn't help much. Project is easy, but its only 50 points. Study the book like crazy before the test and pass with a C
I liked her! The class is extremely tough, I ended up with a C+. She's somewhat unorganized and her teaching style lacks direction sometimes. She is more than willing to help you in her office. Gives students advice like what classes to take together and things like that.
This teacher simply does not teach accounting. She knows how to do it, but is unwilling to help students grasp the concepts of accounting. TAKE SEAN ROBB!!!
No thanks get out while you can.
She is the worst teacher I have ever had. She does not "teach" the material. She puts students down and makes them feel stupid. Constantly tells us that she is a CPA and therefore is better than us. Tests were difficult because they were worded poorly. Do not take her!! The material would not have been hard if she would have actually taught.
I thought the tacher was awesome, and I took her Summer B (along w/these other postings) I thought she was very clear, TAKE GOOD NOTES... read the text... give a little and you will do fine! Only poor thing, with a 6 weeks summer course she didn't have much time for outside of class help. I thought she was a great instuctor.. will take her 4 3141
She was VERY unorganized but the class requires a LOT of studying. Hardest class I've ever taken, by far. If you ever have her for this be prepared to work hard, and do study partners/groups. She is so unorganized that you should never take her in the summer. If you do--don't take any other classes.
Great instructor if you pay attention and make an effort. More than willing to help by email or out of class. Difficult material is covered so don't take her if you are not serious. Fair grader esp when you clearly show your calculations. Relates coursework to her experiences which helps.
I felt Prof Graybeal was a great instructor. Goes over lots of examples in class, and is more than willing to help you outside of class. Fair grader and has a good sense of humor.
She is great! Class is hard and I spent plenty of time studying but it worth it b/c of upcoming CPA exam. She remembers students who participate in class and she is good with e-mails. I liked her handouts b/c they were from different sources. I will recommed her to everybody. and she is so good especially after Prof. Lacy!
She is a wonderful teacher and if you really would like to do good take her class and also if you need more help she will welcome you to her office and try to help out as much as she can. You will be busy during the entire semester.
I wouldn't recommend this professor to anyone that is really interested on learning accounting. She is very disperse in class and very discouraging with the students. She doesn't explain the material well so when you read the book more and more questions pile up. But like her syllabus says "either you get the concept or you don't" great approach
Do not take this professor for anything!!! especially if you expect responses to any questions you may have. one of the worst experiences of my life.
Professor knows what she is doing and takes the time to go over your questions. Read. Do the problems. Practice handouts. Take good notes. Ask questions-she's happy to help. Just do the work, take heed in her lectures/advice, and do your best. She does her best to meet halfway. Her system is correct, you either get it or don't. Best of luck. : )
Take someone else, poorly organized.
everyone i spoke to has failed, tests are impossible and tricky...she curves to make the class average a 60%. alot of people are going to be retaking this thanks to this womans poor teaching skills, and her persistance to make this class a "real life" expierence.
Does not explain well. Assigns all of the textbook problems at the end of each chapter which do not relate to testable material. A lot of useless busy work. Learned too late in class that she only tests on material she hands out (though she will tell you otherwise). She gave a semesters worth of homework 2 weeks before the final.
I really like Graybeal alot. I look her in Spring '08 and did very well in her class. I will be taking her for ACG 3141 in Spring '09. If you listen to what she has to say, you can learn a lot from her. I think her tests are a fair representation of the handouts she gives out. She also sends out great emails of handouts that help ALOT!
Going to class is a waste of time, all she does is gives hand-outs and tells you to do a couple, then 45 minutes goes by and she'll go over those, pointless. if you can teach yourself she's great.
Makes poor use of classtime. Likes to tell stories about past experiences instead of teach. Very degrading. Told the class almost weekly what bad students we were and how none of us will ever be a good accountant. I pretty much had to teach myself everything.
She isn't the worst teacher out there but is still very difficult to learn from. Expect to have material on the test that is not mentioned in class. Make sure to read the chapters and pay attentions to ALL details. She says her test aren't there to trick you but that is not true. poor class management but i will still take her for 3141
She gives out test reviews however, the material on the test doesnt pertain to the reviews. Test are very tricky. She goes over material quick and doesnt explain.
You people need to stop complaining! She is a great professor. All the subjects she requires ARE seen in the real world, and there are so many concepts that she can't teach all of them. She really does try her best to meet you half-way, so please don't expect to pass her class by studying the weekend before the exam because you'll most likely fail.
The subject is hard so you must commit to putting in time for the class. The teacher is good and is very helpful outside class when you need it. She keeps the class pretty interesting. I'd take her again if I had to. She is definitely better than Mrs. Veit!!
Hard class (not because of professor), BUT great professor! If you show interest, then she will. You have to study, work on handouts and problems in the book. Class is not mandatory, but recommended to go. She knows who is in class and coming to see her for help! She cares about her students as long as you put the work in!
Hard class (in general). Great professor! As long as you go to class, go to her for help and show her you care, then she will care! Very willing to work with students who do the work. This is not a "easy" class, you have to do the handouts, study, do hw problems to keep up with learning. I cant say enough about her...she is awesome!!
Like others have stated, it's a hard subject, but not difficult enough to gripe about. The professor has a good attitude and isn't disrespectful. Her method of conveying the material is somewhat vague, and lacks in thoroughly going through examples for the hand computations. Read the chapter before hand and do the problems on your own.
This class was not easy, she is a better teacher than Veit, which really makes a difference in your performance. Read the text before class, do the sample problems and go to her for help, you should pass if you work hard....DO NOT SLACK, you will pay!
I took ACG 3141 in the summer term which already makes it hard but the teacher lacks the ability to explain computations in a way students can understand. Be prepared to read each chapter word-for-word and I hope you can google! I don't dislike this teachers bc its the only accting class that I got a C in, its bc she wastes class time talking about
Not an easy class but she gives you all the tools you need to pass. You can't slack in this class. You MUST read each chapter carefully and do as much exercises as possible. I got a B+ in a 6 week period. Much better than Veit. Too bad she's not teaching anymore, and the class is mandatory now. Good luck with Veit.
Not a diff class most of it is on your own, prof is decent but likes to stand around & waste ur time.
Definitely does not help enough in the actual hand computations. Average test scores were below average for the majority of her exams. She later indirectly blames it on us. I don't recommend her OR Veit.
Gives alot of time consuming homework that is really unncessary. Reads directly from the slides so attending class is not necessary. Talks alot and gets off of subject. Is a bit negative. Seems mean in class but is nice when you talk to her on an individual basis.
Before you take her you need to ask yourself if you really want to learn this stuff or do you want an easy A. If you want the easy A dont take her, take Rob. If you really want to know this stuff and be prepared for 3141 take her. The class is not rocket science but requires a lot of time to pratice the concepts.
This class was the hardest class I have ever taken... and it was the first "C" I have ever made. You have to read the material multiple times and attempt problems before she goes over them in class. Tests require hours of studying, you need to do all of the problems in the book "hundreds" but she prepares you better then anyone else for 3141.
She stands around diverging from the subject material too many times during the lecture. Doesn't provide enough insight on the hand computations, but expects you to know them for the exam. Isn't very helpful with the lecture. You're better off just reading the textbook & teaching yourself along w/ the hw assigned. Take someone else to lecture you.
Horrible profeesor! She shouldn;t call herself a professor. SHe doesn't teach you what she tests you on and it is not in the textbook. She tests you with actual CPA exam questions. Unwilling to work with students and will not give ExCR or even round grades up so don't bother. I am a 3.9 GPA student and couldn't pass. Good luck.
She makes the material harder than it needs to be and doesn't cover it well, she just goes on about real world application and how hard 3141 is. Doesn't always have it together. You have to learn on your own and getting office hours with is near impossible. take someone else, like Robb.
The teacher does not respond to emails at all which is very important for students like myself who work full time and have family committments and cannot take time out for office hours. Subject matter is tough and you must put in plenty hours for homework and exam prep.
Great professor! Alot of homework that takes alot of time to do, but she states that in the syllabus. Very helpful when you have questions. I'm taking her for 3141 as well. The tests are hard, but you have to study.
Her teaching style is messy in my opinion. She's open to questions. uses real life examples.
I made an A even though I was shooting for a B. Prof is super busy so hard to get her to respond quickly, but she is a professor that cares about your learning. She does give you every chance to make an A as long as you do the work.
Definitely have to work for your grade. She doesn't waste time on students who don't show up to class, so it is to your benefit to attend every class.
The hardest class ive ever had. She doesnt teach you at all, i have almost a perfect GPA, studied literally 8hours a day, every day, and barely made a B in the class. Everything i learned, was from self-teaching, she is rude, disrespectful and her tests are RIDICULOUSLY hard. I am a hard worker, and i surely deserve an A in that class. Very dissapp
You will do OK if you can teach yourself: WORK ALL SAMPLE PROBLEMS. She never worked a single problem in class. Half of the classes are spent with students sitting and working problems on their own (skip these - nothing to be gained). Not much teaching going on. Tests/quizzes are full of errors so print and review your results, challenge errors.
Worst teacher i have ever had. Tests barely match material covered. Yes you can know the stuff backwards forward but for everyconcept covered she will give you the most tricky version on the test. She has crawled out of the littleshop of horrors.
The second exam, the average was a 61 which she refused to curve. The third exam, she wouldn't even announce the average because it was "too low," but we do know that only 2 people out of 150 got A's (the highest being a 92). She said she would curve by the end of the week. It's now been a month. Do not take her.
she is willing to take time out to help students if your schedules match, which is good because this is quite a difficult class. What was said before about her tests is true, I don't know where the material comes from but its not the book or class sometimes.
50 percent usually drops after the first week. Honestly, dont!! i stayed..it was a huge challenge but 3131 in general is suposed to be a rude awakening. For ch exams, use the powerpoint! it will save your life. Conceptual questions are key. I think i had a D for the most part, iended up with a C. Majority failed this class...
Completely rediculus, tests are off the wall- almost nothing that was covered in class is on the test-A-student-propobly have to repet class-different proffessor!!!
Grate and knowledgeable Professor Her tests are straightforward and easy. This course requires lots of time.Professor Graybeal expects you to know the material from ACG 2021.It is impossible to pass this course without some knowledge from previous course.
This is a hard course. She doesn't write a single thing on the board so you have to go along with her at all times. She does provide packets with practice problems for almost every chapter. Make sure to study and practice and you should be able to attain at least a B.
I never comment on here, but this class was the most disciplined I have ever had to be in a class. Not easy by any means, however, if you stay dedicated and put the time in that the class truly deserves, you will do well. Received a B+..she really is a good professor. The grade is just up to you and how determined you are to do well.
Shes very rude. Talks about how all of the students have received a "free-ride" until her class to justify ridiculous tests. When I started the class there was at least 45 people. Last class I attended there was like 15. I actually work at an accounting firm. Be smart and avoid this one...
The key to be successful is to practice, practice, and practice. If you understand all of handout materials and all of textbook exercises, you are ready to get an A.
ACG3131, Semester covered 13 Chapters divided among 5 exams, with the final exam being worth 20%. Had to purchase a Perdisco Practice set online from an Australian company (Buy the supplement if you want to pass). Did not curve throughout semester. Class started with 45 students and ended with about 10. Class average of 50% per exam - Tough class!!
Very hard professor. She had her favorites during class and hardly ever explained anything. Just simply restated the book and never taught class to you as a student but talked to you as if you were in a firm working for her. Everyone in her class was failing exams that's just not right. Take Scott Smith instead he's more helpful and nicer.
Not an easy A by any means. You must study HARD!! Lots of test questions from homework sections in book,do all the problems--she provides the answers.Everything else comes from worksheets she gives out-save them all to study from. You must understand comprehensive side of ACG to pass this class! Good luck!!!
This class is not extremely difficult if you keep up with the work and practice. The last two tests are tough, but if you do well on the first two tests (which aren't very difficult) and get close to 100% on the online homework and perdisco project (not hard to do with multiple attempts) then you should be fine. The summer course is time consuming.
People are being unfair. Ms. Graybeal is very helpful. She moves test around if she feels her class isn't ready. She works problems in class and does her best to explain the concepts. She is an active accountant and tries to bring real life experience to the class. She's also prepping you for the CPA exam. Take summer to avoid written exams.
Professor Graybeal is an absolute pleasure. She is very clear on what she expects. She has a sweet heart but she is tough! She really does care for the success of her students and is very helpful. She does give you a study guide and if a topic is on there, LEARN IT! She is not a hard teacher; the subject is difficult so don't expect a breeze!
Though she doesn't take attendance, you would be an idiot to skip this class. Attendance is pertinent to a good grade! She covers heavy test material in class. WILEY PLUS is your FRIEND, do not make it your enemy. Don't procrastinate and make use of the supplemental videos on Wiley chapter sections and you will do great. HW helps you prepare a lot!
I was very hesitant to take her reading prior comments. I'm glad I didn't listen! Prof Graybeal is awesome! You are doing yourself a injustice if you do not take her. She takes your future success very seriously & makes sure you understand the material before she moves on. Attend class and do WileyPlus then you can easily pass this class with a B!
While I have no doubt she's a competent and experienced accountant, she leaves very much to be desired as a teacher. Though she certainly knows what she's talking about from a career perspective, her teaching ability is very limited, and she'd be better off where she was before. I truly cannot recommend her to anyone, there's better choices.
Tough teacher but also tough subject. Ms. Graybeal is worth the time and effort she challenges you with. If you don't get the foundation you'll never get the rest!
Professor Graybeal is the most helpful, and clear teacher on this subject. I have learned so much from her already--have not even completed the class, but can tell if you want to actually "learn" the accounting process this is the professor to choose. Also, she gives real world examples without divulging private client information.
Awesome teacher. Very helpful, very fair, and always willing to meet with students one on one for extra help. The course is very difficult though, but its the material that makes it difficult, not the teacher. Accounting is not easy!
Horrible and insensitive
In my opinion, she explains the material really well. She is always willing to help students both inside and outside of the classroom. I will be finishing my undergraduate soon, and she is one of the best professors I have encountered.
Graybeal is quite disorganized sometimes. she assigns extra work, and her exams are poorly worded and ambiguous. But she's a great person. She's very knowledgeable, makes herself available 247 to meet with students and help... and you can tell she really cares about students. She's not perfect but she's a good teacher. She has my recommendation.
Prof. Graybeal is very nice professor. She really is an accounting genius. This class is not easy, but It is not because her. Listen to her advice, if want to do well, you need to take only this class or with a compliment of a 1 credit class--trust me!!! Do not even think in taking this class with GEB 3031 Cornestone!!! 4 Exams, 1 big assig, HWs.
You have to put time into this class and for me she was of no help in the classroom. Thinks shes hot stuff and that her students are inferior to her. If she's such an amazing accountant why is she teaching basic level at UCF? No curves. Avoid if at all possible.
Ms. Graybeal is a very inspiring teacher in my book! Take her, pay attention in class, she has real life experience in the local market and elsewhere. She has traveled and goes to her clients--listen to her lecture and get OFF FB. She gives you the tools to actually succeed in class! Yeahhhhhh! Not usual in this program at this school.
By far the best Professor I have had at UCF. Test are tough but if you study and pay attention to her lecture they are not bad, very do able to get an A! Just do the work and put in the hours.
She has perdisco that is a must do, that is very difficult. Homework is a must and needs to be done to pass. Class is very difficult if you do not attend every class. She is very helpful if you ask. Overall nice professor and will take her again.
I found this class to be hard because math is my weakness. When I reached out for guidance the response I received was harsh and not helpful. Start the Wiley homework ASAP or you will never get caught up!! Tests are hard and the Perdisco project is lengthy. No curves or extra credit. I barely made it out with a C.
This course is much harder than 3131! Wiley homework is still rough and takes awhile to complete. No project so your grade is based on Wiley and 3 exams. I tried taking over Summer and will have to retake this course in the fall. The tests are very difficult and I will need more time to prepare for my next attempt.
Professor Graybeal knows the subject and is willing to give you all the help you want. She has real world experience and that helps. I have been in the accounting field for 20 years and BARELY got my A and this course was probably much easier for me than most. It's not an easy class, but if you want to really learn, take her!!! I loved her.
Professor Graybeal is very knowledgeable, she provides ALL the tools necessary to pass. Her tests were very fair and the examples she provided were and integral part in my success in this class. She assigns only the chapters that will be necessary and provides a clear study guide before each test. If you desire an A, be prepared to read, read....
Perdisco Practice set and Wiley plus take a way your time.
If you want to actually do accounting, then you need class with Professor Graybeal. She is extremely helpful in not only the class, but also in helping you decide your future career. I took her for ACG3131, ACG3141, and ACG4803 because there is no other teacher I have respect for. Her class is hard, but you feel well prepared leaving her class.
Professor Graybeal is hands down the best accounting teacher I've had. Great ability to break down complex material. Tough tests but she gives you everything you need to succeed including problem sets with full solutions that you need to work and understand. If you are serious about accounting there is no better way to prepare for the real world.
I have never, in my entire life, worked so hard just to get a B in a class. I took this class over summer A. This professor is extremely passionate about accounting and will help you succeed, as long as you attend every class and do everything she posts on the modules. Get ready to read and spend hours doing the Wiley homework.
Go to class! There is a lot of online HW. The bulk of your grade comes from exams. I took it Summer A and it felt rushed, try taking this in Fall. Overall, she requires a lot of work from you but she is so great at teaching the material, its worth it. I'm not even an accounting major and got an A so it is possible. Don't take if you're lazy.
This class is honestly not that hard. If you apply yourself by reading the text and attending class it should not be difficult to earn at least a "B". Professor Graybeal also has extensive experience in the accounting industry, making her lectures very valuable to aspiring CPA's.
Mrs. Graybeal is the best! Honestly i learned a lot from her. She is a great professor cares about the students and teaches the material with real life examples. You will love her!!!
As a junior, I have never received a grade lower than a B in a class. This class was so difficult, and even with never skipping a lecture, exam review, and spending hours on hw, I got a D in this class. I got A's on all the hw assignments and with all the time I invested in the class, I still failed. Wish she actually taught the material in class..
I passed quite easily since I was willing to put in the work but everything considered I would take a different professor. There wasn't anything particularly wrong but the 3 hour lectures start to become torture after awhile. If you are willing to learn easy B , if not prepare to work your ass off for an 80.
BEWARE!! She is totally disorganized - takes weeks to respond to emails (and sometimes never does at all). Provides incorrect solutions and homework is missing facts NEEDED TO ANSWER THE QUESTION! Her tests are worded so strangely you may know how to do the problem but have no idea what she's asking for. She curves NOTHING but "massages" end grade
Worst professor ever. She doesn't explain the material AT ALL. She just jumps right into her "problems" she posts. The HW would not have all the info you needed or she would post the wrong HW and it doesn't tie to the quiz part. Graybeal honestly needs to retire or shouldn't teach 3 classes during busy season...
Very knowledgeable professor that's always willing to help. The majority of the negative reviews for difficult classes come from lazy students so take the complaints with a grain of salt. The material is challenging so be willing to work and stay on top of your studying. I took it in just 6 weeks and still pulled off an A, it's not impossible.
She hates UCF Athletics, no loyalty to the school, no loyalty to you
This is a very tough class- be prepared to READ and work for it! I have never worked so hard for an A in my life, but it's possible if you put in the work: read the textbook, attend the lectures, do the homework as well as the practice problems she gives you- and go to the TAs! She cares about her students, but expects you to put the work in!
I thoroughly enjoyed Professor Graybeal's class. She is no nonsense and very straightforward, but fair, honest, and caring. Uses her personal email to communicate in class and I always received a quick response from her, even late at night or on weekends. She is a master of accounting and it really came across in her class. Very willing to help
Professor Graybeal is an amazing person, and really knows her stuff. Unlike many professors in the accounting department, she's been actually in the field as a licensed CPA (still is) for many years. She gives many real world examples about clients she's worked with. Not an easy class, so work hard for it. Start strong because it gets harder.
This is a super hard class in general but she was able to help by giving a ton of practice problems. If you do not do these problems you won't do well. Her lecture are better if you read before class. Also start studying at least a week before the test to do well.
Took her for ACG3141 and Personal Income Tax. She genuinely does not care about you. Was almost discouraged from pursuing the major due to her terrible attitude. She tells kids on the first day that most of them won't pass, and regularly talks trash about Finance Majors. She is the stereotype of a pretentious, rude accountant with no soft skills.
Her class was pretty difficult, but it would be with any professor (all of of the intermediate accounting classes have the same tests). But her lectures were interesting and helpful, and she did lots of practice problems in class. Her practice problems and notes that she posted to webcourses directly helped on the test. Show up to class for sure.
Taken during Summer of Covid. Very time consuming homework which has little to do with the homework. Would not recommend taking accelerated, online, or working full time. Tests are tough and are 80% of your grade. Unless you love accounting stay away. This class is giving me an ulcer.
I really enjoyed Professor Graybeal. She is a really knowledgeable accountant and does a good job TEACHING students how to really understand accounting. Watch her lectures and her example problems and those will help a lot. A lot of Wiley and tests are somewhat difficult but a B is definitely manageable even with average grades on the tests.
Her class felt very unorganized and class material was in no way related to the exams.
For the second half of spring this class was entirely online. The professor gave no study materials/lectures, and expected us to self teach from the book. I spent many hours a week (30+) trying to understand it, and even then the tests were near impossible and had countless trick questions, or pulled on information only briefly discussed.
Prof Graybeal she is not bad for a UCF accounting professor. she is a good accountant. however, she is not good at using zoom n was unprofessional in lectures, talking bad abt students, always yellin instead of jus talking. If accounting is not ur passion or major, and u need a prof to actually teach u, i recommend take her in person or not at all.
She is a smart professor and very entertaining. At the end of the semester, she crammed 4 chapters into the final exam. We had very minimal time to prepare. It was not planned well in my opinion.
Not excel savvy. Lectures are mandatory but useless. Never learned anything from her lectures. Better off finding a professor online to watch their lectures. Tests and homework are very difficult with little to do with what she goes over in class. Only reads off solutions to practice problems in class. Yells a lot. Complains often about students.
hard class but not impossible, must put in work to pass it, you can't be a slacker. Ask questions in class when you don't get it, don't be shy to seem stupid, she can seem rude but she actually cares for you when you show interest in the class. Many people complain it is too hard, but I thinks she is doing us a favor by challenging us in the class
She is the only prof for this class that actually teaches the material well. She took the time to create practice problem packets and detailed example files that helped immensely for exams. She definitely knows what she is talking about and will make sure you understand too, if you ask! Will be taking her from now on, such a great professor!
Not the best lecturer, but those extra practice problems of hers really help.
Not a bad professor but unrealistic expectations for an intro level accounting class. Only 1/3 of the class actually makes it to the final due to the difficulty of exams and the minimum B required for entry into the accounting major. Accounting is not difficult but UCF is being way too picky for an average major overall.
Was not an easy course, but this was due to the exams created by the accounting dept. Attendance is a must if you want to pass, lectures are packed with info. Professor and TAs available outside of class if you have questions.
If I had to choose a class, and hers was the only one available, I would just take the class another semester. That is how bad it is with her, especially during the summer. Hard expectations, not organized, and very strict on grading and teaching her way. Her exams also are difficult. Prepare to work harder than any other professor makes you do.
She knows what she is talking about and is pretty good at explaining the material and making it interesting. Her exams are difficult, and require a thorough understanding of all material. You get out of it what you put in. Int 2 is a tough class, so make sure you spend a lot of time reading the textbook and watching YouTube videos to reinforce.
Accounting can be a tough subject, but Professor Graybeal does a good job explaining the material. The lectures and practice problems are helpful, and she's available if you need extra support. Unstuckstudy was a useful study tool alongside the textbook.
In class she goes over examples in packets that are really helpful. Make sure to read the book, very influential on the exam. There was never an answer too "dumb" for her to help with in class. Even it if was something we should've known or someone just asked the same thing, she still explained it. In class pop quizzes for extra credit. Shes great.
This was genuinely the worst class i've ever taken. Professor Graybeal makes her lectures so boring and dreadful, she also has a negative attitude. This is a very difficult class, the exams felt nearly impossible to pass, so set aside a TON of study time. She practically told our class that most of us would fail...so much for the encouragement!
