Crappy teacher..doesn't explain things very well..unclear..
Dr. Harden is a great teacher. If you don't understand something, she will take the time and try and help you. Show some effort and you'll be alright.
Very good teacher. Explains course very well. Takes the time to make sure that all students understand.Do your homework and you'll get all A's.
Do your homework!! She gives a lot of partial credit on test. Excellent teacher. I wish she taught higher level math courses because she would be the one I would take.

Awesome Teacher. She has been the only math teacher that has actually taught me math. I wish she taught higher math classes.
Dr. Harden is an awsome teacher. All my teachers in highscool were coaches and I learned nothing. She is so easy to understand and always more than happy to help. You have to go to class and you have to do your homwork, you can't be lazy.
Maybe she does better with small classes. I ahve her for a large lecture class of close to 200 people. She is terrible. Everything I learn for the class I learn on my own. If it wern't for the attendance points I wouldn't need to go to class.
Very great teacher. I wished I had had a math teacher like her in high school. She takes time to help you, and she explains the material well. Dr. Harden Rules

An over oppinionated highschool teacher, this woman teaches more about her personal beleifs than she does math. I didn't like her or her class.
Dr. Harden is a wonderful educator! She takes the time to answer all questions clearly and even sends email regarding her class or extra information. I've learned how to be comfortable doing math. What a relief! Thankyou!!
Well, she is kinda easy, but her class is so boring and I feel like I want to shoot my self after about 15 minutes in that class, make sure you don't take her class if it is a late afternoon class
She is kinda confusing but if you ask her after class or see her during office hours she is more than willing to help you.
I've heard shes not so bad in smaller classes, but if you would have to take her in a lecture hall with around 150 students, DONT DO IT. It seemed like she didnt even know how to work the problems. Possibly the least clear teacher I've ever had
Awesome, helpful, and the real deal when it comes to a professor.
If your a girl and you suck up to her before and after class-You have it made. If you are just doing all your suppose to and nothing more---your in trouble. Continues to give bad grades without helping---just says "go to the lab"
One Word::::Terrible
She is rude and demeaning to her students. She puts down her students on a daily basis. She has an arigance about her.
She was the hardest teacher I have ever hard in my life. She would not help you at all and insult you on everthing. AWFUL TEACHER!!! Do not take her. She failed her husband, that shows she does not favor but should she had trued to help him! Come on
HORRRRRIBLE
good, i liek her, very informative!

She seemed a little uncomfortable with such a large class, but explained problems well. This is a hard class anyways but if you do the homework and come to class and actually pay attention you will do fine. With a large class it is hard to give individual help, but if you stay after she will help.
She is a great teacher in the summer, so try and get into her small summer courses. As far as in the normal term she is soooo bad. She has to many people in her class to care about you. Test are not hard if you study and she will drop your lowest.
at first i could not stand ms harden, but after finishing up the semester i really like her! the work is not hard if you come to class and pay attention. the tests are a little long and hard to finish in the hour class, but she drops your lowest test. i will be taking her again for college algebra!
Dr. Harden is one of the best teachers I have ever had. She cares about her students and helped me everytime I needed it. If you need to take Remedial Algebra's take her.
WORST TEACHER EVER!!!!!!
Arrogant inside class, but nice outside of class. Treats every class like an honors class. Tests are pretty hard and long. Do your homework and you will be ok.
How can you have a math class of 150 students and not expect them to drop-out like flys? Not clear when working problems in class, works them mentally and expects you to read her mind to know where the answer came from. Only helpful if you have time to stop by her office outside of class. DONT TAKE!
She is the worst teacher ever. She was so arrogant and expected you to know how to do the work. If you asked her how to do something she would just say "you should already know that," or something of that effect. Plus she would always skip important steps to "save time" and do work in her head.
I cannot believe that so many people failed this class. It is one of the easiest i have ever had. The material is not difficult, and Dr. Harden explains it well. Easy A.
i passed Cal in high school no problem but algebra with her sucked! very unclear, rushed problems so she could finish, assigned WAY to much homework and expected you to be as smart as her! My class corrected HER at least 2 times a day! If you are taking 850, take good 'ol Hank.
She is very hard. Doesnt explain problems well, expects you to know how to do it before your ever taught, rushes through things, doesnt offer much help unless you have time to see her after class. I do not recommend.
Stupidly easy class, bad teacher. Got a B without trying at all. Takes attendance by quizzes almost every day, no make-ups for any reason.
horrible teacher, doesnt explain anything i would find someone else to take quick.
You guys are wusses. There's nothing wrong with her teaching. And to the person who passed Calc in HS, why would you need to go back and take developmental math anyway, unless you came to college and bombed out of college algebra?
I have never been good at Math and she sure didn't make it any easier. I passed with a C. She took up homework twice but she expected you to have it all done. She was confusing when trying to explain things. Quizzes were the only way I got through that class.
She doesn't always make things clear the first time, but in her defense, she gives plenty of opportunities for questions. You get to work with your neighbor on quizzes, which are given just about every day. I'm not a math whiz, didn't try too hard, and got a B. College isn't supposed to be the easy!
thought I was going to go crazy in this class. She does not know how to explain things at all!
Yikes!!! I believe that she thinks she is still teaching High School, drawing from the way she treats her students, ADULT STUDENTS!! I work very independantly in this class due to the unreasonable pace and lack of clarity.
stay with it passed the drop date, its as though she is trying to get as many people to drop the class as possoble, after that she becomes much more helpful, and will take time during class to answer questions, ( belive me i know i had many to ask!)
Great teacher to take. I would tell anyone to take her. She is not hard at all people. College is not easy, and the first two years is a lot of weeding out classes. Make it through the first two years and you will be fine.
If your not good in math you might want to take her for 850. It helped me MORE THAN ANYTHING. It makes having her for 1130 easy(if you do well in 850)! You do have to study and do homework but she explains very well and is very generous on tests & gives extra credit. If you take her YOULL THANK ME!
She can be a ball breaker!!!!!!!!!
dr harden is very nice and despite what other people think, she is willing to help you. it may not be direct 1 on 1 help, but she will point u in the right direction. the class isn't too hard, and she tries to make it as painless as possible since math isn't that exciting.
Get teacher very helpful! If you need help go to her office and talk to her, she will help you!

She is by far the hardest professors/teachers I had ever had. She got joy out of failing her students. My class had around thrity people in it to begin with at the end there was only 9 left. She had drop over 20 people with a F. I failed her class and I wasn't the only one. Trust me do not take her.
She is an awesome teacher! She explains things VERY clearly so that u understand them and then still explains them to make sure u got it. Lots of homework, but if you do it, you will do well. Do not wait till the night before the test to try to do it all and learn all the material. i made an A.
I thought Dr Harden was a nice enough person, but a horrible teacher. Her way of teaching on an overhead projector is terrible and she was extremely unclear. ALL math teachers think math is easy and do not realize that is may not be for others.

She would have to be the worst teacher I have ever had. She sucks at math and at teaching. I am sure she is a nice lady but as everyone can see she is obviously lazy in the class and outside! Do Not take her and think you will pass, you will only meet friends and waste your money.!!!!
i've taken her for many math classes. she's a really good teacher. she will help you in any way she can. she's very understanding. she actually cares about the students. you should take her
She helped me so much. I thought I was really bad at math until i had her.
This is one great teacher. Before taking her classes, I absolutely HATED Math with a passion. I struggled a bit in the 850 class but I excelled in the 1130 so well that I actually got an A. She by far is the best. I wish she taught 1830!

She likes to graph a lot. She is hard to me, but I am not very well in math. If you are decent in math she will be an excellent teacher to take.
My highest math grade in high school was a C. I now have an A in Dr Harden's class. She is the best teacher I have ever had. She is so clear in the way she presents concepts, and she is always willing to slow down or go back to help someone understand. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!! She's awesome!
she is very unhelpful and a bad teacher
She is a horrible teacher. No matter how hard I tried, I could just not keep up. The homework was easy, which she never took up. It was the tests that messed me up. I am going to end up with an F for this class, my first F ever. She doesn't really help, either, no matter how many questions you might ask.
Writes all info on overhead. Take notes and find someone to study with outside of class.
I would not recommend Dr H to anyone. Don't get me wrong she is a nice lady. She just takes forever getting your tests back to you. My class didn't even get the last two test back so we don't know how we did on them. She gives take home test but she never gets around to checking them.
She is a really good teacher. If you come to class and have a good friend to study with you will pass her class with an A or B. She lets you take test home and she doesn't care if you do your homework or not. Very easy.
Dr. H is a great professor. She works with her student. She is very fair and understnding. It is a little hard at times to to understand he lectures but she has the best grading policy there is. Do your work and and ask for help? Take her class she is the best one in the class.
Avoid at all costs very patronizing, expects you to know everything. The thing about developmental courses is that you don't! Take Ol' Hank she is not a very good professor.
Obviously thinks everyone should know everything she does and you're stupid if you don't. Assigns like 100 problems a night. Pretty hard work and little help you'll get from her.
Mrs. Harden is probably one of the coolest teachers that i've ever had. Test were a breeze, because she gave out pretest to practice, homework was optional because sometimes you might not understand the lecture, and hw will give you extra practice. Meet her after class one day and she will respect you more for that. Great teacher
Miss Harden is an awesome teacher. Her teaching methods are easily understood. She will helped me with any and all questions that I had. If I couldn't attend a certain class she would let me make it up with one of her other classes. Very good teacher.
Ms. Harden is an awesome teacher! I really enjoyed here class. She is fair and is very helpful. I would recommend her to anyone, but only if you are willing to do your work and come to class. I liked her way of teaching so much that i am taking her for college algebra.
Mrs. Harden is one of the coolest teachers i've had! She is so funny and doesn't care to tell you what she thinks. She does give alot of homework. She gives out practice tests and they are very helpful. If you come to class and pay attention and do the practice test then you will do good in this class!

Awesome Teacher!! She makes sure the class understands the material. You will never cover all the material in the syllabus because she takes a lot of time explaining things so you'll probably take 3 out of the 6 tests. She gives you as many points as possible as long as you try to turn in your homework. I had a 'D' at midterms & passed wit an A!!
She's a good person, but as a teacher she lacks the qualities needed. She skipped the Prerequisite chapter which more than half the class needed. She pays more attention to her old 830 students than to those of us who didn't take her class.
This class isn't as easy as I thought, but I still got an A. Dr. Harden is a pretty good teacher.. I usually got confused when she tried to answer students questions, though. She's helpful, but takes a while to get your tests back. I would recommend this class.
this was a hard class, but she does what she can to explain, she will go over it a million times if she has too. she is opinionated and funny - a nice lady
Mrs Harden is a nice, funny lady, but in a class of 140, she can't help everyone. She can try, but lacks enough time to make everyone understand. Read the book and do the main examples, do the homework eventhough you don't turn it in, and study old tests! ... There is always tutoring?
Ms. Harden is a very good teacher. She will give you every oppourtunity to make a passing grade. She is funny and quirky. She talks real fast though so you may have trouble keeping up with her lectures. She sticks with the book adn problems from it. Fall 07 will have new text books so I dont about that. JUST SHOW HER YOU TRY AND YOU WILL DO WELL!!!
Hated this class. She's a good teacher, but for a lecture hall it wasn't great. She only paid attention to prior students and ignored part of the intro to the class.
Harden is a great teacher. She can be very lenient. She gives sample tests before the actually test. You only take five chapter tests then test over all of it on the final. I highly recommend her.
She has apparantly quit using the book. She uses an online program and honestly i havnt learned one thing because all you do is look at the examples and it shows you exactly how to do it. Class is pretty boring and she gives quizzes alot. Eventhough attendance is not mandatory.. i would go.
DO NOT TAKE! Horrible teacher, quizzes are damn near impossible. I'm good at math and I made a C, she does not explain anything very well. Would never take again.
She does not teach, she just does exaples from the homework from the night before. I withdrew because she wasnt teaching. DO NOT take her unless you are brave.
I'm not sure why these other people are being so negative. The material is easy, and she explaines only the problems you need to know for the tests, which is good considering there's a massive amount of information in the book. Take some notes in class, and make sure you know how to do the practice tests she sends via email.
Ms. Harden explains the material well, and if you are in a big class she doesn't take role. She doesn't explain things well and overall she is not a good teacher.
Dr. Harden is very unorganized. You might not get your first test back until test #4 unless you go to her office and demand it. You take quizzes almost daily and she grades all homework. She puts all your graded quizzes and work outside her office for everyone to see. Yourself or the math lab will be your teacher throughout this course.
Okay, I hate Math. It was invented by Satan. However, Mrs. Harden is awesome (even though she's pretty sporadic about assigning homework, grading, and everything). She will work with you if she makes mistakes on tests. The whole semester was a nail-biter in the grade category. Didn't know til I got the grade. Anyway, overall I would recommend her.
Great.
daily quizzes & homework..the tests are like the practice tests she e-mails..she is never in her office & the math lab tutoring was no help with her homework assignments...i would not recommend her to someone who isnt good in math. u CAN NOT miss class. she lectures everyday & at least two pages of notes daily.
Worst teacher ive ever had. Annoying voice that makes it hard to concentrate. Almost always late to class, never has tests graded in time, and homework due every class for a grade for correctness. I got lucky with a B because the exam brought it up from a D. But overall a pretty incompetant teacher.
Homework is online, and no book used. Also homework isn't due until the end of the semester. Attendance isnt taken but she likes to give pop quizzes at the end of lectures. Test and quizzes are terrible, unless your completely oblivious to math. She repeates herself a lot and is vague. We got out of class early alot though.
Dr. Harden's a freat teacher. However, she does skip somethings you may need to know for the online homework. But If you tell her you don't understand something she will go over it in class. I enjoyed her class. I would suggest to take her. She can have a smart mouth sometimes, but if you overlook it she's great.
Show up to class, pay attention (get off your cell phones) and STUDY the material. Do not go into this course expecting to pass without applying yourself, and don?t expect Harden to baby you like your High School professor did. This is college folks; put forth some effort and you?ll be fine. If I can make an A, anyone can. You reap what you sow....
Dr. Harden is amazing! If you don't understand something JUST ASK HER! She will make sure you understand and will meet with you outside of class. Her humor is a bit smart-mouthed but all in good fun (don't be an idiot by sleeping or using your phone in class! she WILL call you out!) This class is not hard.. GO TO CLASS AND TAKE NOTES!!
Not the best teacher out there but not the worst either. The homework was all online and isn't due until the very last day of class. Don't bother buying the book because you don't use it. She takes about 2-3 weeks to grade tests. Class isn't mandatory but it's a good idea to go.
This is my second time in class with Dr. H. I absolutly love her. She has a different sense of humor, but she means nothing bad by any of it. She just keeps u on your toes by using jokes to point you out. You DO NOT need your book ever. Homework is all online. It tends to be confusing, but you have a chance to get 100s everytime so do it!
Dr. H is a very good teacher, but she moves VERY quickly. All the homework is online and I would suggest you do all of it because it helps out in the long run. She wasn't a bad teacher, but wasn't my favorite either. I probably wouldn't take her again.
TERRIBLE TEACHER!!! DON'T TAKE HER.
She's an alright teacher. I didn't think she was too bad, but I can see how others would think so if they aren't good at math. She does have a bit of a sarcastic humor so watch out for it. Just go to class, take notes, and ask questions if you need to. Homework is online. She pretty much gives a curve on all tests/quizzes/final which helps a lot.
Ms. Harden was an awful teacher.I had her for DSPM 0850.She treated us as if we were all math majors and Dwe were in DSPM because we dont get the concept of math. She went way too fast and didnt care about us comprehending it.She een canceled class the dayof our review for the final. And i begged her and she still failed me over 5 1/2 points.
Not a good professor by any means. I felt as if my comprehension of math regressed just sitting and listening to her babble.
Coming to this class everyday was a complete waste of my time. I barely learned anything from her in class, and had other people teach me the last two chapters. She doesn't always do what she says she's going to do, so beware. All the homework is online, as well as an ocassional quiz. She is fairly flexible with due dates, which was nice.
Honestly in high school I loved math, now not so much. She hands out study guides and nothing on the guide is on the test. She expects you to walk in knowing everything before she teaches it. She does not work the problems out all the way, leaving you confused. She comes off as over confident in math, and kinda makes you feel stupid. DON'T TAKE...
This professor is utterly stupid!!! She is always pushing back deadlines making procrasitnation acceptable in her class, she does waaay to much to make the class easy to pass without learning a thing. She really could care less about teaching. She gets upset when her explainations are inadequate and she must explain it again ending up yelling.
I actually liked Dr. Harden-Ray...alot of people don't like her because she teaches fast but she will always go over anything you need her to. she'll help you out with deadlines...and opens all the online homework/quizzes at the end of the year so you can get a better grade..at least she did that for us. TAKE HER!!!!!!
She is a freaking horrible, unfair teacher! I hate the way she teaches. She goes so fast, it's like she don't give a damn about us learning the stuff. The worst of all the crap i put up with was when i was taking a test online and the internet cut out. That gave me a 0 and she wouldn't let me retake it. DON'T TAKE HER!!
Had her twice. She is so easy. She does a lot of online homework/quizzes that really boost your grade. (and you can redo most of them)Take Her!! She also gives up to 20 bonus points.
Worst math teacher ever! Doesn't help and is confusing. I look up how to do problems on the internet and have to teach myself how to do everything. What kind of doctorate professor doesn't know how to teach?
She gives you alot of chances to bring your grade up, like dropping low quiz, homework, test grades. She lets you redo a lot of stuff..just make sure u go to class! if u miss, you will be LOST because the material gets confusing. just do ur homework and go to class and u'll be okay.
Easy! She gives you soo many chances! She does act crazy during class, but she makes it so easy. I failed every test and came out with a B. She gives homework online which makes your grade come up dramatically! Take her if you are bad at math! And she drops the lowest test, quiz, & HW grade!
She is the worst teacher I have this year! She goes way too fast in class. Although hw/quizzes are given on the internet and you get countless tries on your hw, good luck trying to work them out on the test. She's a terrible teacher. Im sure the math tutors are on campus could teach better than her.
i have never done so horrible in a math class in my life! She doesn't explain things, she goes to fast, and she doesn't give good enough notes to teach yourself with. I tried to get help from her and she has a very "not my problem" attitude. The online homework was terrible b/c she limits your tries & you never know what the computer wants.
TERRIBLE! Do not take her if you struggle with math any at all. She doesn't answer your questions, skips steps and does work in her head and expects you to read her mind. Super arrogant and annoying. Gives tons of homework online, but none of it helps you on the tests. DO NOT TAKE HER!!!!!
She is a horrible teacher. Everything is online and its not worth your time, especially if you struggle in math. I should have read the comments before taking her class. It seriously was the worst class I have taken. DO NOT take her
ok i had her for college algebra and dspm her tests are hard but not impossible you just have to really study hard in dspm she is a sinch passed with a high B but in college algebra i recieved a high C even though i studied about the same if not more. You MUST do all online homework and quizzes. I failed all her tests this semester my highest scor
Her personality definitely isn't favorable, but then again math teachers are evil in general. If you're not the best math student, stay on top of your game from the beginning. STUDY for the tests because they can be a challenge. And remember the online assignments! Those could be crucial in the end. Go to class. If not, you'll be lost most likely.
It takes a while for her to grow on you but you'll end up liking her. I'm going to take her for college algebra. Online homework and attendance is MANDATORY. If you miss one day of class, you're lost. You will learn the necessary material to go on to college algebra. TAKE HER!
I have never been good at math, but this professor turned my view on math completely around! She is a wonderful teacher, and anyone who struggles with math should ABSOLUTELY take her!
Hardin is a nice teacher, very friendly and knowledgeable. Her class is very fast paced, so I would not recommend her for slow learners.
I really liked this class. It's easy if you show up everyday and pay attention. She'll help you as much she can. You can easily get an A or B if you show up and do all your work.
she is a terrible teacher. I am also in a class of over 150 people and end up teaching myself. maybe she is better in lower level smaller class size but not helpful at all in a lecture setting
I do NOT recommend this professor if you struggle with math at all. You end up having to teach yourself through the online program. She does ask if there were any questions on the homework, but half the time she would say "That is a stupid question, I'm not going over that." Fast-paced, rude woman.
I couldn't stand Dr. Harden most of the semester, and by the time I understood her teaching methods, I only had 3 weeks of school left..she's not that bad really. She has to grow on you.
Difficult quizzes and exam. Not easy to get B even C. She doesn't help or explain any thing for you.
This class was pretty easy! She often gives bonuses on tests, and we take in class, partner quizzes. All the homework is on mymathlab. Prof Harden-Ray is funny! This class was by far one of my easiest classes this semester!
she is very bad , don't take her
The class is not that difficult. You show have a quiz ALMOST every day, but get to work on it with people around you. The homework was not hard, and she would often times extend it. Pay attention and show up. She will replace your final with another test grade. Many opportunities to make an A.
DO NOT TAKE HER. If you want to teach yourself math, go ahead and by all means take her. She is difficult beyond words.
She means well, but is not meant to be teaching at such a high level. She is not helpful at all. She DOES NOT teach. You have to teach yourself. If you don't understand something she makes you feel stupid about not knowing it rather than helping you. I definitely wouldn't recommend taking her if you aren't already very advanced in math.
Super easy class if you pay attention and do the homework. Stay on top of your game and you can succeed.
She is horrible. I do not understand math and she makes you teach yourself. DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS!
I can't even stand the sound of her voice. She lectures at least once, but you can't understand what she is talking about and she expects you to read her mind when she skips steps. She is then offended when most of the class ignores her lectures and works on the actual work. You pretty much have to teach yourself or find a tutor. DON'T TAKE HER!
Material was hard and she did not teach it well. she goes VERY fast. BUT!!! she does drop a few of your lowest grades which helps a TON. I am AWFUL at math, and failed almost everything (35 on first test) but she makes it almost impossible to fail since she drops grades and such.
I am not sure what people are whining about when it comes to Dr. Harden. She is a fantastic professor that posts all of the notes to iLearn, gives a take home test to replace a failed one, and gives you 'no brainer' quizzes at the end of class to help your grade. I am taking her again next semester.
Dr. Harden was a great teacher. The ones that say she was hard didn't pay attention in class and take notes. I never received lower than an 85 on a test. She goes over examples pretty quick, but it is not hard to keep up. If you take notes on her examples you'll fly through the homework. She drops tons of low quizzes/homework/test grade.
She is a horrible teacher. She only lectured four times all semester, and hated when people asked questions. You have to pretty much teach yourself in this class. I would defiantly not recommend anyone taking her unless you are already good in math.
I loved her, she cares about her students and doesn't want anyone to fail. If you just talk to her she will try to help in any way possible. I would recommend her to anyone.
Homework online, 3 Test and attendance is a test grade, goes over problems in class. You work for your grade, she open a couple of assignments on sunday and they're due the next! She gives you a practice test and gives you points. Do problem on "mathway" and do the 'reading assignments" in group of 3+ everyone pick different a answer, mult. choice.
All homework is through MyMathLab online. You can retry all the homework until you get the correct answer. Quizzes are online too. Tests are almost always in class and you get to leave as soon as you get done. I would definitely recommend her. She's hard but as long as you pay attention in class and take notes, you'll be fine.
Covers material very fast. Hard to take notes. Class only consists of quizzes and hardly any teaching, only examples. Calls kids out in class and gets distracted easily. Would not recommend.
she gets easily distracted and confused, calls students out in class, and has no idea about any of the work she's giving you such as due dates or content. This year she started using a new system and doesn't know how to use it, and god forbid you need to ask her a question the woman hardly ever checks her email. SAY NO TO PAMELA!
Just show up to class and take the math. at the end of each class there is a one or two question quiz, you can use your notes and others near you.
Dr. Harden is one of the worst professors at Tn Tech. I had her for college algebra my freshman year and did terrible. She doesn't even know who she is half of the time. I recommend anybody but her. AWFUL AWFUL AWFUL!
She's a horrible teacher. She teaches so fast half the time you don't even know what she is talking about. If you struggle in Math at all, DO NOT TAKE HER.
I hated Dr. Harden's class. She would lecture and show all these shortcuts and say POOF. Well if you don't show me the long way how am I suppose to know the short way? I went to her office twice for assistance and she told me to get a tutor. I did and that is the only thing that has helped me. She isn't helpful at all. Would NOT recommend her.
I took Dr Harden this fall and HATED every minute of it. DO NOT take her. You have to beg for help. The online homework is from Hades and is really confusing. I came out with an A but I would not recommend her to anyone.
Pamela Harden is a terrific professor. As long as you do the homework and the study guides for the test, POOF, you have an A.
practice test the same as the original test. easy homeworks. attendance mandatory. she is not that bad
There are quizzes every single class period. Tests almost every other week. She moved very fast and get annoyed when you ask questions because "we're so far behind schedule"
She is a very sweet person, but she is an awful teacher. I am usually an amazing math student, but even her course was challenging for me. This is because she doesn't explain things thoroughly whatsoever and is not helpful in the slightest. I have had to teach myself everything from Hawks Learning System. If you're not good at math, steer clear.
She zooms through lectures and I almost always leave class pretty confused. Go to class and try to keep up w notes. It'll help you when you're teaching yourself later.
I always feel like I come out of class having learned nothing. She gets annoyed if you ask for help, and in a class like this a professor has to be available to help. The Hawkes learning system is ridiculously difficult! She gives quizzes every class, and races through her notes. I've basically had to teach myself, because she is no help at all.
Refused to use math labs. Not a bad teacher, but if you cant keep up with a fast pace, then your screwed.
Refused to use math labs. Not a bad teacher, but if you cant keep up with a fast pace, then your screwed. And lots of homework.
Ms. Ray was not the best teacher when it comes to actually teaching the lesson to where you can understand it straight off, but she does post the notes online to where you can look them up at a later time. The study guides are nearly identical to the actual test and she usually drops the lowest test grade and will match the highest. I recommend her
I learned more from Kahn Academy. She is a terrible teacher and test are nothing like homework or quizzes.
Gave a lot of homework, but drops lowest test grade, some lowest homework grades, and lowest quiz grade. She ends up making a lot of deals when it comes to grades; for example, if you make higher on a test than you did the test before, she replaces your grade. Never went below an A all semester. Have to keep up with your homework, or get behind.
Professor Harden was an amazing teacher. Recommended to people trying to keep that 4.0 and make that paper. 10/10
Wonderful professor! I would totally take her again! You have 4 exams, and then the final. She helps with your grade far more than you think. She drops 10+ homework assignments and your lowest test grade. You have 2 quizzes a week, but she lets your work together so you will always make 100's on those. She lets you use a flashcard on some exams.
Dr. Harden is an odd woman. She constantly messes up after she's written an entire problem and how to do it on the board which definitely threw me off a lot. Stay consistent on the homework. She drops a TON of grades which is great! Overall, she's quite funny and I like her as a person, but I would never take her as a professor ever again.
Dr. Harden goes over material fairly quick, but overall an easy professor. Online hw is important to keep up with. 2 quizzes in class a week, can work in groups. 4 tests & a final that are just like online study guides. She drops lowest test, lots of hw & quizzes. Lots of opportunity to get your grade up. Would recommend!
She is honestly not that hard, but you will not do well at all if you do not pay attention in class. She goes over every section by working problems and if you write them down and ask questions if you need, you will get an A. Put in some effort and do the homework.
This professor is great if you have a good understanding of math, but if you don't you will struggle. She goes very fast when she is lecturing so if you are having to relearn this stuff from high school expect to get a tutor outside of class because you will not learn by her lectures. Nice lady overall. Lots and lots of homework.
She helps those who ask for it. She gave plenty of chances to make assignments up and also bonus points for those who wanted them.
She is one of the craziest professors I've ever had, but if you show up and do the work, it is a relatively easy A. Attendance is mandatory because she has a quiz every single class. Homework online nearly every other night. Never lets out early, never cancels. Drops lowest grades/replaces low grades with higher ones.
I had her for Concepts of Calculus as a freshman. I am really good at math even though I'm not super interested. She is overwhelming and really loud. She will NEVER let you leave early. She teaches to the bell and then gives you a quiz to complete in literally a minute or 2, which worked my nerves. She does let you use a calc though, unlike some.
I was skeptical at first because she has a tendency to FLY through the material. You will have lots of homework with this professor but she is very fair with her grading. As long as your homework is on time (on hawks online), you get a 100, which is a big chunk of your final grade. I ended up with a high A and I've not attended college for 11 years
Scatterbrained and unclear. If your not good at math she doesn't exactly help things. Lots of online hw, quizzes at the end of class. Does give a curve on tests though.
i suck at math so bad, but this was the most helpful class I've ever took in my life. she curved tests, and gave extra credit to those who needed them. although theres a lot of daily homework, but it's very helpful. before each test, she would post a practice test and it will be exactly like the test, she cuts 10 problems off. she's very funny!
She flies through the material but gives plenty of homework practice on mymathlab, so you can continue to redo the homework questions missed and always make a 100 on it. If you ask for help she will help.
Dr. H was a tough grader! If you didn't study on a regular basis, do all of the assigned homework, and attend class you won't do well! I would recommend taking Mr. Hank!
Quiz every single day, messes up problems on the board very frequently so don't write in pen. No graphing calculators allowed, no laptops or phones, homework assignments are due all the time and even though attendance isn't mandatory I would suggest not missing unless you have to. She goes through the material quick and if you miss a lecture you will likely get behind. She took extra points off my test because I didn't finish in time. She does however drop lowest tests, quizzes, and homework so if you pay attention and try on all your work then you will pass.
She can come of as very rude in front of the class, and her grading criteria is very critical -- that is, she takes off points for very minor things, like forgetting to write the date. Overall, she is an all right teacher with plenty of oddities
Her Precal class is really not that bad. She constantly messes up problems and forgets her notes in her office 75% of the time so we have to correct her constantly. I've skipped 4 or 5 classes and made a high B so make your own luck kids. P.S. She's pretty ignorant when it comes to calculators and wastes a lot of time.
She can come across as rude, but she has the student's best interest at heart. She does have a lot of homework and daily attendance quizzes, but she drops A LOT of lowest quizzes, homework assignments, and lowest test. Copy all the examples she does b/c that's the homework problems. The study guides are the tests just w/ different numbers. Do them!
When you have questions, she answers them. If you need help she is there for you. She is a wonderful prof. Would recommend to a friend.
The easiest class for me . She really try to help students . HW is online . 4 test one of the online . drop lost grade . retake quiz and HWs . caring . I like he class . If you want easy A take her .
Dr. H is a bomb professor. She is very kind, and truly wants the best for those who work for it. She has quite an attitude, but she means the very best. I will miss her sass and brownies. The only compliant is that she is not always clear in lecture. This class may be some difficult for those who struggle in math.
You absolutely will fail if you constantly skip class. I can only think of one day the entire semester she didn't give a quiz. That being said, all her tests are on a 110 point scale. She is a bit scatterbrained but I think all these mean comments about her are coming from people who never went and aren't Math-skilled. Math sucks, but I liked Pam.
Dr. H does care about you and your grade. The thing is.... YOU HAVE TO TRY. Her exams are not a cake walk but she drops your lowest grade and a couple of quiz grades. I took her for college algebra (A) and concepts of calc (B)
She's a stickler about cell phones but other than that she's alright.
I'm horrible at math but was required to take this class, and I did fine. She drops HW and quiz grades and lowest test at the end of the semester. Daily quizzes so you have to go to class. She always gives a study guide before each test, and it's the exact same just different numbers. She can be a bit scatterbrained, but I definitely recommend her.
Great professor. She is scatterbrained and strict about no cell phones. Gives a lot of homework and quizzes but drops several at the end of the semester. Quizzes are open note. Just put in the effort and GO TO CLASS. She's very understanding and makes it easy to get an A or B in her class.
Won't pass if you skip classes. Gives "quizzes" each class - easy A's. Homeworks due each week. Drops lots of low grades. She wants you to pass. She notices who tries and who doesn't. DONT use your phone in her class. No technology allows ever in class or she will get pissed. Big on cheating in class. No graphing calculator allowed.
Dr. Harden is amazing! You will have homework on each section and a quiz every class period(you get to work with others). She gives you study guides to each test which are almost exactly like the test. She makes everything clear and I have never had such good luck in a math class ever. If you have to choose between her and Daniels, pick HER!
Dr. Harden is a great professor. If you show up, do the homework, then you will pass. Quizzes are a daily thing, however, you can help each other out and they are super easy because the quizzes are over what you did in class that day. Homework is online and every night, but she will push due date back if she sees people had trouble with it.
This class is an easy A if you do the homework and study the practice tests before the tests. She gives daily extra credit quizzes if you go to class. However, she is a stickler on cell phones, but she is super sweet. She also doesn't require you to take the final.
Easy A. Show up to class, do the homework and you will be fine. She often gives in classes quizzes but you can use your neighbor and notes. Tests are exactly like the study guide and she let us use a notecard. No cell phones. She's very scattered and loud but the class is very easy.
Professor Harden gives daily extra credit if you come to class. She is a stickler on cell phones, but it is obvious she cares about her students. She does not require you to take the final.
It is a really easy class because all homework assignments are online in Hawkes Learning and so are all the exams. Attendance is not mandatory but at the end of every class she gives a quick little quiz and they give you extra credit points for right answers (lots of it). Exams are easy I would for sure go to the review day before each exam.
Spenty exactly 33 hours and 23 minutes doing homework outside of class. It's necessary and helps you learn. Very easy course, she provides study guides that are a replica of the test. You have to legitimately try to not get a good grade in this course. Final was optional and there's plenty of other grades to help you pass. Highly recommend.
Dr. Harden is disorganized, but caring. She gives a quiz at the end of every class, but you can work with the people around you. They are the only reason attendance is important. The online homework was generally easy, but I love math so take that with a pinch of salt. Some tests are also online, so you can use notes and tests are usually curved.
She is one of those teachers that just writes the problem on the bored and then solves it, and expects you to just know what she did. Does not explain well for those of you who aren't the best at math.
Good professor to take for classes like Applied Calculus and College Algebra. If she has her notes, she explains the subjects pretty well. Expect a daily quiz for participation grade. Tests are very similar to the study guides. She drops several grades, and lets you use a calculator. Medium amount of my math lab homework.
Mrs. Harden is kinda crazy but her class isn't bad. each class period you will have a quiz so you have to show up or you get a zero. The homework isn't bad just annoying. Her tests are pretty easy she gives you a study guide almost identical to the test. Final is optional.
She gives a quiz at the end of every class, all you need to do is show up and pay little attention to pass the quiz. As long as you go to class you can pass. She gives a lot of work, but if you show up and just pay the slightest attention you should be able to do good. She gives extra credit on the tests and curves them a little bit too.
Overall she was great compared to other professors for this course, but she took over a week to get grades posted. Come to class and you will pass with an A or B. Four quizzes and homeworks are dropped at the end as well as one test, the final is optional, she also lets you use notes and work in groups for the in-class quizzes.
Dr. Harden is a wonderful professor, take her course!! She cares about her students that actually TRY. Homework is assigned after each lecture and quizzes every chapter (online-mymathlab), inclass quizzes each lecture as well. There were five exams, two of which were optional and could replace your lowest score. Notecards on the exam are allowed!
Basically she was behind 2 lessons and expects us to do the homework before we are even taught how to do the math. Monday was my class and she would teach for 30 minutes and say alright there are 4 homework modules due today goodluck. Wouldn't have passed without tutoring. I failed every online test after the first two since we were 2 lessons behin
Dr. H is a really good professor. She can seem scary, but is really friendly and willing to help. She only assigned 32 homework lessons the entire semester, and you have a week to complete each one. There is a short quiz at the end of each class, which you should pass if you listened. This class is easy if you had a good high school math teacher!
Pamela Harden isnt a terrible professor, however her personality definitely isnt my favorite. I was able to understand what she was teaching, however, she always seemed grumpy and ignored some of our questions over email. Being a visual learner, watching her solve things helped but she didnt really explain why she was doing things that way.
She does a quiz each day in class, but allows and encourages students to work together on them, and they are very easy. Lots of energy, which can be fun, but some people didn't like that. Very generous with extra credit, but also assigns lots of homework.
Pamela Harden told me that I did not have to show up to class after I finished all my work, yet she gave me a 0 every time I didnt show up.
Dr. Harden is a very nice lady and cares about how her students do she really reminds me of a HighSchool teacher that you can get along with. Dr. Harden's class you need to go to every day, there is a quiz each day in class but you can work with people around you. Homework is heavy but overall not hard to know when things are due.
Quizzes every day. Pauses class and says quiz question and then asks something harder than what youre giving over when she asks. She does outline exams pretty well, almost telling you exactly what to learn and what to just leave out of your mind. Miss a day of class for a funeral or surgery- no makeups. 0 for the quiz.
This professor was unhelpful. The test were nothing like what we learned or the homework and not enough time given on the tests for the amount of work.
Mrs.Harden is a great person but not a great teacher. She's really bad at teaching math and expects you to know everything. She messes up constantly and tries to play it off.
On the average she is not difficult but having a prior knowledge is important if you want to do well. Many times, she rushes through "easy topics" even if they are not easy for students. I would strongly suggest reviewing the material before attending class. GET TUTORING ASAP IF NEEDED. If you want a nice teacher who respects you, don't choose her.
I was unsure about her at first and it took me a couple weeks to get used to her teaching style and outgoing personality, but once I got used to her and the class it was much more enjoyable. She will not allow phones and will call you out if she sees you. I am not great at math, but she is always willing to explain anything in more detail.
This class was unnecessarily hard. I am a 4.0 student and this class made me question if college was for me. She would teach you something in 0.2 seconds and then say "this is a poof question, its so easy" The HW and quizzes are very difficult. I didnt even make it to the exams before I dropped the class because i knew I couldn't recover from there
The name Pamela Harden should strike fear into the hearts of many. She is a horrendous teacher. She breezes through chapters that she deems easy or questions she deems to be "poof" as she refers to them, when in fact they are not "poof." She constantly berates us, questioning our abilities, and comparing us to her elementary-level granddaughter.
At times she will even question our ability to speak English. She has the highest failure/drop rate for the section, and to top things off she complains about our "inability" to her other sections. She assigns a hoard of homework, some assignments exceeding 30 questions, and forget about taking tests.
To take tests for this class you must score 75% on a study guide before even being able to attempt the test. If you value your education and mental health, DO NOT TAKE THIS WOMAN, you will hate yourself if you do, and you will be taking the course again the following semester. Good luck, and may the odds be ever in your favor. This is part III. :/
Daily quizzes are used for attendance. Before you can take a test, you will need at least a 70 on her study guide to even have access. Everything is online so even a small mistake like a misplaced comma will make you you fail a question even if the answer is right. Every homework assignment is due before the next class.
Dr. Harden is an interesting teacher. She expects us to do things that we either forgot or need help understanding. If you do take her, make sure to pay attention and go to tutoring. Also get a little math helping app works as well. Overall, I can tell she is someone who loves what she teaches and I respect that.
This class is no walk in the park. The professor has high expectations and a tough grading system, but using resources like Unstuckstudy AI alongside the textbook can really help you succeed. Attend every class and stay focused - it's worth the effort.
I found Dr. Harden's class easy. I have experience with pre-calculus from high school, so this class was a breeze for me. She comes off rude when she speaks/teaches, but she gives you everything you need to do well in her class. Our practice exams were basically exams with different values. I had a good experience, but she may not be for everyone.
I didn't love her. If you struggle with math I wouldn't take this class. I had to teach myself most of the material. If you struggle, instead of offering help she just tells you to find a tutor. If you do bad on the test, it will drop your grade like crazy. I got a good grade on the first test and my grade raised 8 points. So imagine doing bad.
You know she is kind of mean sometimes but she does a really good job teaching in my opinion. I took this class in high-school and did horrible but she explains things in such an easy way. But definitely be prepared for her to yell at you cause she will she has no shame. She also like things in a very specific way.
Among other awful experiences in this class, I thought the final would be fairly easy considering she told the whole class the study guide was exactly problem for problem like the test. After reviewing the study guide for days, I log into the test in the TLC just to be met with every single question being exactly what was NOT on the study guide.
Overall this class wasn't too bad. The professor is a bit closed off when providing feedback but it's mostly online so that's ok. BUT. The final for this class is the same test across the department and there was just a bunch of stuff on there that we straight up didn't cover. I wish we were more properly prepared across the semester.
Took Harden for 1710 and 1720. Harden teaches the easy way. Every day was an open note quiz, she drops lowest grades, only tests on what you need to know, and allows reference sheets on exams. Do the homework before class, write down your questions and problem areas to ask about. You will have to try to learn, but she will help patiently.
I had Dr. Harden this semester, and she was well, something. She teaches from her "easy" ways which some of them being easy for me. She comes out rude at first, but really nice once you get to know her! The final exam however, was horrible. Almost no material that was covered was on it! She did something very generous for that though!!! Secretive!!
She has a very aggressive teaching style, and doesnt really explain things that well. She gives very little room for mistake, and belittles you if you get something wrong (even if she's the one who led you astray).
This professor is not open to providing help. She was rude to students who tried to speak to her. I also noticed that almost every day in class, she made mistakes while writing out her example problems and would have to be corrected by students. If you are not strong in math, I would take a different professor for Pre-Calculus algebra:)
Alan....... We are so F*****
Easy class. The other reviews claim she grades harshly, but if you put in minimal effort, do the homework each night, and actually take notes, you WILL pass with an A. Attendance is taken each day with a quiz, but the quiz is incredibly simple, and sometimes she will straight up give you the answer if you actually listen to the lecture.
Professor Harden would send emails in all caps. Spent class time insulting students and did not cover content clearly. Expecting you to already know the content.
