This class was amazing. I attened class and it was well worth it. She was entertaining and it was easy to understand everything. The tests were a little difficult but if you study you can get a good grade.

Pam is a wonderful professor. Anyone who has a problem with her obviously didn't meet the basic requirements that she asks of her students. She is extremely involved in her work and so passionate... and HILARIOUS!!! She cares about her students on a level I have never seen at a university.

She will not start discussing a topic before you understand the previous. She is very knowledgable on every topic she covers and much more. Her PSY 240 class is very fun and you will learn a lot!

Ended up learning so much in this class! Quite a bit of work, Pop Quizes almost every other class on definitions in chapter. Exams were slightly challenging but if you study the in-class notes and read the cahpters you'll be fine! Pamela is a hilarious teacher! I will most definitely be taking another one of her classes!!!

Pamela is awesome. I learned a lot from her class. Her exams are easy as long as you go to class and do the study guides. It's pretty easy to get an A if you do so. I really feel that the people who think that she was hard or unfair were the people who didn't go to class and didn't do the study guides. Don't let them discourage you from taking her!

Wonderful professor! I took her a few years ago and have interacted with her a few times outside of class as well. She is all around a great professor! Everyone at EMU takes her class because she is so great. Freshman year I heard about how funny and great her class was, so I made sure to register. Well worth my time, very knowledgeable.

Totally not as bad as I was expecting! She expects a lot of you, being prepared for quizzes and tests, but if you actually go to class you'll learn a lot. She's easy to listen to, energetic even in the morning and she really knows her stuff. If you go to class and read the book, you'll be fine for tests!

Professor Landau was great both times I took her class! I played around the first time and did not do well, but the second time I took her class a couple years later I gained much more life experience with the principles than I did my freshman year. Read the book, go to class and study (like a real college student) and you will do well!

I do not know why there are so many negative comments about this teacher. To be honest, she is the best professor that I have had here at EMU. Yes, there is a quite a bit of homework but the quizzes are extra credit points and she has an awesome sense of humor. All my friends who have taken her, love her. She's great and that's honest.

Professor Landau is amazing. I'm not sure where other reviewers are getting "disorganized" and "incomprehensible". She teaches to what the interested students are wanting to learn about, and she is wonderful to talk to as a person. I added a Psych minor just so I could take more classes with her. Her exams are easy if you've attended class.

Professor Landau is my favorite instructor on campus. She is willing to work with students, easy to talk to, and incredibly charismatic. I don't understand her poor reviews. I have yet to speak to a student on campus who has not completely loved her and her courses!

She was a wonderful; very enthusiatic teacher. She uses examples from her clinical work that she does which adds interest to the material. I have been out of her class for a while now and I still remmember her as being one of my favorite teachers. If students dislike her it's because they didn't do well in her class due to lack of particpation.

Very good instructor! I highly recommend her. The quizes were terrible because if your 2 minutes late for class, you didn't get to take the quiz. Her teaching ability is GREAT, very clear and knowledgeable.

Landau is one of the best professors I've had in my 4 years at EMU. If people don't like her, it's likely because they didn't show up to class (and therefore weren't prepared for the in-class references on the tests) and/or weren't prepared to do college-level work. She's very helpful and willing to meet outside of class.

Good professor, good class. Make sure to go to class though ;) It's barley okay to get note from someone else unless they literally write everything. It's taught in a nice open format so you and classmates can ask literally anything. Consists of 4 tests, lowest grade is dropped and about 2 papers, pop quizzes (easy ones) and a few chances for E/C

This class has been one of my favorites, it really is a lot of fun! and Landau has been my favorite professor. This class is very interesting and she truly enjoys teaching! Phenomenal professor, made this class extremely enjoyable and I learn a ton. It's not easy, you definitely have to attend and study for the exams but was totally worth it.

Landau was phenomenal. She was hilarious, kept us on our toes, used many real life examples. She was has tons of experience in the field. These bad ratings are one person trying to ruin her name. She is wonderful. I am taking another class of hers this semester and can't wait!!!

Her tests aren't "easy", you have to study, read, and come to class for the information, but the lectures are so interesting - I never want to miss them. She brings personal examples into class. She gives study guides that say what you need to know from the book, but there's only a few questions on the exam from it. Lectures are very important to go to and take good notes. I thought she was the best professor ever! Her lectures were very interesting, and the fact that she is a therapist and has crazy stories about most of the subjects you cover made her even better. I loved her class, and I highly recommend her. You just have to keep up with the readings.

I hated every single one of my classes my freshman year, but this class was the only one I looked forward to. They were very interesting, and she made it very easy to understand what she was talking about. She could give a lot of examples of a lot of the subjects she covered because she is also a therapist. I loved this professor! I actually looked forward to attending this class. The exams were pretty long: 70-80 questions, but all multiple choice. Final was 100+ questions. Exams aren't hard if you attend class, take notes, and go over the study guide for the text. Offers extra credit. Had to write a couple of papers, but they were easy. Take her!

Great teacher, she has lots of experience. Definitely will not pass this class if you're not paying attention or not there but her lectures are interesting and she makes it really easy for her students to understand the material. Exams are tough but again, if you're in class and you take notes you will pass this class without any problems.

She is one of the BEST lecturers I've ever seen. I swear she could be a motivational speaker. Her class is amazing, but it is not an easy A. You will have so much fun if you take it. Prof Landau is very passionate about what she does and it translates into what she does. There are weekly 15+ point "pop" quizzes that she hints about so be sure to keep up with the reading. Exams are curved and study guides are passed out a week before. As long as you listen, come to class, ask questions, and take good notes you'll do great

Professor Landau is a great instructor and I would definatly take this class again! There were only 3 exams, not including the final. However, she drops the lowest exam grade of the 3. She was pop quizzes frequently, but she warns you and it's a great way to get extra points. If you study for the quizzes and the exams, you'll do fine!

Prof Landau is absolutely hilarious and amazing at making sure you know what she is talking about in class. She frequently uses her clients as examples which is a big help in understanding. If you want an A on exams you MUST read the textbook & attend class. A lot of the exams are straight from lecture notes only.

I am a Senior at EMU and I have to say that this was one of my favorite classes I've taken. Professor Landau is an inspiration. Her charisma and enthusiasm for the material make the class very engaging. You must attend lectures in order to receive a good grade and get the most out of the class, but since its so interesting you won't want to skip.

This professor gives pop quizzes, but you have plenty of notice for them. Her lectures are long, but once you get to the exam, you know what you are taking about. The book is a must. She gives plenty of extra credit. There is no reason to fail this class unless you get lazy. Overall, if you plan on taking Psych, take it with Ms. Landau.

The class overall was pretty intresting. I will give you a heads up, go to class, takes lots notes, even when she is telling a joke or one of her stories because it will probably show up on her 124 question exams. long exams! read the text and be ready to do the long study guide. Advice, just go head and learn all the vocab from the chapters.

She is experienced in her field and gives lots of anecdotes about patients shes had over the years, which really enriches the class. If you want a professor to give you cut and dry lectures on only the textbook or only give you information that's on the test, shes not for you. She gives her knowledge freely which is valuable and rare.

Here's the thing, professor Landau does an amazing job in what you are paying for, and that is to learn the material. She may seem disorganized but the material presented in class is the material best applicable to the real world and not just through a text book. Test are long but easy if attend ALL classes and do study guides. Extra credit is Opt.

she gives answers to her test, before a exam always ask for the answer to whatever number she will give it to you and always read the top of the test, there are more answers there.

Pam is tbh one of the best professors. Her classes are VERY interesting & she's always telling us client stories (she's a relationship therapist). Class is more of an experience than a "course". It's not just about sex, it's about communication + more. Tests are little long, contain questions from lecture & book. Would take her again if I could.

This class is great! I learned a lot about sex, relationships, and communication. Pamela is also a therapist and works with couples and it's clear that she knows what she's talking about. The downside is that she doesn't use canvas and you have to take notes on EVERYTHING that is said in class bc it WILL ALL be on the exam.

This class was amazing! I got a B- in the class, but the grade doesn't show how much I really learned in the class. I would definitely take this class again! The study guides do suck bc there are 100 terms on them; but if you pay attention in class then studying should be really easy. And if you have questions for her ASK! she want to help you!

One of my favorite professor at EMU. I've taken her twice and received at least a B+ in each course. She tells you stories from her actual practice which are helpful to get concepts and principles. Also she gives you answers on exams if you read the directions. Her questions are specific but if you attend the lectures and listen you will do fine!

Prof. Landau is passionate about what she teaches and gives many stories detailing what she experienced. She does not use canvas, so it is important to go and speak with her to find your grade. She has "pop quizzes" that she tells you about and expects you to read the chapter beforehand. Not showing up to class is a good way to lose points.

One of my favorite professors of all time! She obviously loves her job and is very funny. There is a ton of important information in lectures and reading so it is a little challenging, but I think it's worth it. Highly recommend this course and this professor.

Best Professor I've had thus far; graded very fairly. Her lectures were very entertaining and enlightening. There are quite a few "pop quizzes" but she gives you a fair warning prior to all quizzes along with the chapter the quizzes will cover. Her exams are fairly lengthy but all of the information is covered in the lecture. PS. SHOW UP TO CLASS

if you have any ounce of interest in psych I highly recommend you take this class. pam's lectures are very interesting with many real-life connections. you won't pass if you don't go to class as many exam questions are only from lecture. also, make sure you do the readings!!! helps with exams and quizzes a lot!

Shes very passionate about psychology and knows her stuff really well. You must work hard to do well in that class thought.

Great professor! She really knows what she is talking about. She loves giving feedback and getting a discussion going. Her lectures are very interesting and keeps you awake. Lots of extra points given. She gives answers on the exams in the directions. She always ends class early also. Defiantly take!

Absolutely loved her. Her lectures were interesting and engaging. She connected her lectures with her own experiences and stories. She doesn't use canvas, so you're forced to interact with her to find out grade (good thing). She gave lots of opportunities for extra credit and was hilarious. Favorite class this semester.

She's a very passionate teacher and really cares about her topic. However, her tests are quite difficult though she gives random extra credit and gives the occasional hint during tests (she bolds the right answers sometimes). She does give almost daily 15 point vocab quizzes for the chapter you are supposed to (and need to) read. If you don't...

One of my favorite professors yet at EMU. She has so much experience and it shows in her lectures. Exams are slightly hard, but not impossible. Recommend buying the textbook, but I was able to do average without it! I genuinely couldn't recommend a professor more.

I feel like you should only take this course with her if you're a psychology major, not for an easy A. Her lectures are very interesting as she uses real-life stories but her tests are pretty hard. Gives out lots of extra credit but doesn't use canvas so it's hard to keep track of everything. Easy to talk to outside of class though and very nice.

really only graded on tests, and few hw but she gives extra credit and if she knows who you are youll be fine. Show up to class because when class isnt full are the days she gives out the most ec. Lectures are interesting and most are based on her experiences. But in order to pass the exams you need to know the material and not just definitions.

Would highly recommend. Loved this course! She made online school way less boring than expected. Cant wait to take psych 240 with her.

Such an awesome class and an awesome professor! She gives examples from her own experience as a clinician and has so much knowledge to share. A very safe environment where anyone could ask questions. Prof Landau is kind, and gives ample extra credit opportunities.

Pamela was genuinely such a good professor, she doesn't count attendance so it's no biggie if you miss class online. Her quiz's and exams are easy, straight from reading and lectures. highly recommend!!

Not many assignments in the class. Mainly weekly quizzes, 3 exams and then final all based on lectures/slides. Her lectures can be boring bc its all slides but can tell she is passionate abt it and loves interacting with students!

Loved this class! Prof. Landau had a story for everything and it made the class very interesting and engaging. You NEED to pay attention in lectures. Random things from the lectures showed up on exams. Exams are fairly easy.

prof landau was super nice! i had an 8am and she made it tolerable. there's not a lot to do, but you better take notes on your textbook. all quizzes and tests and finals are open note, open internet, etc. she just wants you to learn stuff but also pass her class!

15 question vocab & 60-90q chapter quiz almost every week, syllabus is accurate for when you cover each chapter. Lectures feel repetitive, they have important info on each chapter but she also records them so you can look back. Lecture & textbook info is used in the quizzes. She provides a vague study guide for the 60-90q ones. Not my favourite.

So, This year for the fall of 2021, the course was all virtual. You are not required to attend class but it adds points if you do. You also can get points for participation. My class was on zoom from 8:00 am-9:15 am. The class has 3 exams and a final. Your lowest scored exam will be dropped from the overall grade. Extra credit is also given.

Loved this class and loved her. I had the 8am online class. Attendance isnt mandatory but I suggest going, sometimes she gave us extra credit. Not much homework, if there was it was easy. Lots of quizzes but theyre easy. She made class very fun, she was nice and funny, and explained things very well. I would def take this class w her

Landau is wonderful! She's super knowledgeable and has reasonable expectations from her students. Easy exams if you come to class/watch the recorded lectures.

This Professor is amazing. She gives great examples which is what I love the most about her class. I am taking her right now and she is an easy professor overall, and as long as you do the work provided you will do fine. Her tests are long, but they are doable and not bad. Lots of extra credit too!!

Very easy class. The tests were at home!

She kept lectures light, entertaining and would lecture around what we wanted to learn about. We took 4 test at home all of which are not to bad if you attend class and have the book.
