The BEST @ FSU
SHES AMAZING
Awesome class!
a wonderful person. the end.
"Images of the South in Film" -- She's fun.
This professor was the most FUNNY and INTELLIGENT professor that I have ever had in my life! I never missed class and I actually looked forward to it! The only drawback was that my boyfriend kept talking about how hot she was. Even so, ROBBINS ROCKS!
Very interesting and she makes it that way!
Funny professor that made the class very interesting. I was dreading taking a history class because I hate it with a passion, but after taking this class I LOVED IT! She is great. I would take any class with her again.
Great professor. She keeps you involved and interested in the material with her colorful personality. A lot of Exam questions come from her lectures, and she is not bad on the eyes, so make the effort, come to class, and you can easily get an A.
AMAZING TEACHER! so funny! cusses a lot though so if you're offended by that dont take her class. As long as you go to class, take good notes, and study, you'll do fine. Didnt use the text books at all. She makes the lectures fun and its actually entertaining to go to her class. I definitely recommend her!
Great Teacher. she is crystal clear with her info, im always awake...yes she cusses like 20 times a class, but she is super approachable & very nice. fun class. easy A as long as you study the lectures notes and key terms. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND HER. and so does my advisor thats how I got into her class. ;)...o, and she the hottest pro at FSU!
This was honestly the best teacher I've taken at Florida State so far! She is so funny, and really turns a boring class into something special. I have heard mixed reviews about this course is I would get her as I have heard the class can be hard, however with her she makes it easy
one of the best professors at FSU!
Great teacher, essays are autobiographies, 3 tests really easy, one test has an essay but she gives you the prompt a week in advance, made class fun and interesting even at 8 in the morning. loved the class.
She is the best professor I've had so far. She is extremely entertaining & makes the material very interesting. There is no textbook; you watch movies, like Gangs of New York, instead. There are 2 essays and 2 exams, so you have to work hard to get good grades, but it is easy to make it to this class because she's so fun. I loved her & this class.
She's the best
This class is terrible.. if youre taking it as a grade to raise your gpa or to merely weed out your gordon rule that FSU requires..do NOT take her..again DO NOT. take Sheppard instead.. I have a 3.7 GPA and have never entered a test thinking i know the material just to find out i get a 68..ive never gotten a C in my life and this might be the first
Great teacher, Class itself is not mandatory but you must go to get the notes. Study the notes on the test and it isn't to bad. Three tests and two take home essays. Tests usually get curved after the first one. If you get notes from a friend and study them no need to attend class. She's also easy to look at ;)
Best Professor I have ever had! She makes the material interesting and wants you to do well in the class. I highly recommend taking her!
Dr. Robbins is a fantastic teacher. Her tests can be challenging, but she is extremely clear in lectures and has plenty of humor to go alongside the material. She is extremely passionate about the subject, which proves that she is one of the best professors at FSU. Take this class!
She is a WONDERFUL lecturer and makes class very interesting! I loved going to class and learned a great deal in her class. However, her exams are very difficult. I attended class every day, and studied hard for her exams and struggled to keep a high B.
One of the best teachers I've ever had. She explains everything very thoroughly and makes class interesting and engaging. There is no textbook and the power points are not very informative, but as long as you go to class and pay attention you should have no problem getting an A. She is super funny and genuinely wants everyone to do well
The best class I've taken at FSU. She is an amazing professor and makes you actually want to go to class. Her tests are really hard but if you go to class and study you will do fine. Seriously a great class, I'd take it again if I could.
She is hands down the best teacher I've ever had. She is hilarious and very relatable. She makes what could be a boring class into something extremely interesting. The tests are a little tough, and tests are based solely on lectures because there is no textbook to use. Would HIGHLY recommend taking her class or having her as a teacher if you can.
I took this class because I thought it was going to be an "easy A". Turns out it's by far the hardest elective class I have taken at FSU. There are BARELY any grades. Only TWO exams, one paper, and 4 measly 5 point in-class assignments. She gives zero extra credit which was depressing. TAs grade paper extremely hard. DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS
Great Professor and gives awesome lectures. However, there are hardly any grades in the class and the midterm and final are extremely hard.
I thought she was great. I really wish I could take her class twice. I went to class and easily got an A. Loved her.
Do not take this class. People say she's a good, funny person from reviews but grad school doesn't care about how nice the professor was that you got a C in. Test choices A,B,C,A&B,all of the above when every group is the same. She will say every wave is the largest. I study hours on hours for the exams never miss class and get a 64 on them.
Loved her! Made me excited to go to class everyday! Definitely have to be a good note taker to do well. If youre up for the work and up for a comedy show twice a week take AMH with her! Normally I go to my classes and just study to take the tests and then forget it all but I actually learned something! I laughed and learned at the same time ayyy
I LOVED PROFESSOR ROBBINS! She is by far the best teacher I have had. She makes learning the material so much fun and is constantly cracking jokes during lectures. She assigns two tests (midterm and final), one paper, and has about 5 points worth of in class assignments. You need to show up and listen to lectures, but I would definitely recommend!
Go to office hours before exams! Like a review session. The way she asks questions is challenging, a lot of comparisons. Lecture is very interesting and requires a lot of note taking. Great class! Requires work for the tests, not just knowing the notes. Had 3 tests and 3-4 short papers, 1 long.
Great professor! She is hilarious and always has a positive attitude. The only homework assignments given is to watch movies. Go to class and take notes because it is important for the tests. She has 3 tests throughout the semester.
Pamela does a great job at lecturing. She is very clear on what she wants you to know for the exams. Her exams are tough but if you study you should be fine. There is one paper that is split into two stages. She makes the class interesting and engages the students. She's also very funny and makes light of some of the sad topics discussed
Class is pretty entertaining and not too difficult. Three tests which are pretty straight forward based on notes and movies. One paper spread out into two parts that some had difficulty with, but was not really too difficult. She also offered extra credit too help out.
Dr. Robbins is hilarious, but make sure you study. I would have done better if I took an extra day or two. Essay grades were fair except that TA who graded mine was wrong with occasional parenthetical citation placements (of which I would cross reference with the MLA handbook). I looked forward to coming to her class.
LOVE HER!! Best teacher at FSU. Super funny, interesting, and approachable. I'm not a history person, but this was hands down my fav class! Attendance isn't graded, but you need to go to get notes because she doesn't post them (no txtbook). Only 4 grades, so you don't have room to mess up one assignment; make sure to study. Tests are pretty fair.
Go to class every day and take good, detailed notes or you won't get an A. There is no textbook or Powerpoints online to look at. It all depends on going to class and taking notes. Also, put extra effort into the immigrant comparison paper and the final exam. Otherwise, this class is entertaining, especially for a history class.
Don't listen to the people who say the exams and paper are too hard. She gives amazing notes and those are the only resources you are allowed to use, so attending class is a must. Those people obviously skipped a lot or suck at writing. Great lecturer and makes class super interesting. Make sure you have great full notes
THE BEST PROFESSOR I HAVE EVER HAD. She made history so interesting. Her tests are based off of her lectures so you have to go if you want a good grade. But she makes everything so easy to understand. Makes tons of jokes, one of the funniest people ever. I would change my major to history if I could take her for every class. 10/10
She is awesome! I'm a business major who was never interested in History but taking this class was the best choice I made to satisfy the history/x/w requirements. She lectures as if she's telling a story which keeps you engaged/interested. Her papers and tests required genuine effort but were also very manageable. I hope FSU keeps her forever.
Dr. Robbins is the best professor I've ever had!! She truly related to the students and made every class interesting and enjoyable no matter the topic. Her tests are hard, so if you aren't the kind of student to go to class or take lots of notes this isn't for you. But, this is the best class I've ever taken and it's most definitely because of her.
Dr. Robbins is the best professor ever! She is an amazing speaker that keeps you engaged for the whole class. If you listen and take notes, you should be fine for the tests and papers
Most fun class I have ever taken at FSU. It's not that easy, just attend lecture and take notes and study a week before finals and you'll be okay.
She is honestly such a great professor! Yes you have to go to every class, but it was one of those classes that you wanted to go! She makes the lectures so interesting! I really learned a lot from her and I wish she taught more courses at FSU. Her tests aren't as bad, just take really good notes and pay lots of attention in class and you'll be fine
The class is literally three assignments: a midterm, a university required project, and a final. Dr. Robbins is hands down one of the best professors at FSU. She may seem really strict but she's so sweet and generous. She truly emphasizes with students and is amazing at what she teaches. So much respect for her.
Great course on such a dense subject. Ms. Robbins is hilarious and makes class a joy to come to. She is very blunt and practical and knows her stuff! She doesnt post her lectures anywhere so GO TO CLASS! or else you might be missing out on specific notes you arent going to find anywhere else. No textbook either!
By far the BEST teacher at FSU. she is so hilarious and talks to you like an equal instead of a superior. all teachers should take note because she makes immigration seem like a really fun subject. She is so sweet, and all you need to do is show up and pay attention to the hilarious lectures and you'll easily get an A+. No textbook, all laughs!
She is very funny and has good lectures. Even though attendance isn't mandatory, I still wanted to come to class (she also doesn't post slides so, you should go to class anyway). She assigns 10 papers, but you only have to do 5. There are two tests in the class, but they aren't very hard if you study.
She is an amazing lecturer that teaches interesting content. Her lectures are fun, informative, and coming to class isn't mandatory, but her tests are 100% of the course material. Courses tend to be writing based, so will gain the W credit. Can't be lazy in this course, or you will not pass!
Dr. Robbins is by far the best teacher I have ever had. I hate history but the way that she taught it, you will never forget. Go to class and look over your notes periodically and you will definitely pass. She does lecture the whole time but you will be laughing at how many times she cusses in her lecture.
Pam is the most incredible teacher I have ever had. Her class already focuses on really interesting topics, but the way she conducts class is so entertaining and fulfilling. I would not miss an oppurtunity to have her.
Robbins is one of the best professors I've ever had. She was always entertaining in lectures. If you don't go to class though, there is no other way to access the information. But if you go to class its an easy A.
Best professor I've had so far at FSU. It's really important to go to class and I even got really bad FOMO when I didn't bc I loved the course so much. She's hilarious when she lectures and very competent/passionate in course content. I'd recommend her to anyone in a heartbeat. Went out of my way a semester later to write this bc she's so great!
I really enjoyed taking this class. I went to every single lecture and did all of the assignments that were asked of me. While I felt like I learned a lot, it did not show. There are 4 assignments, 3 tests and 1 paper. I thought I was going to receive an A or a high B, but actually got a C... Her graders were really tough on the writing assignments
She's so funny and really knows her stuff. she makes the lectures very interesting, but take good notes. attendance isn't required, but sometimes she'll post material in class that you won't have access to unless you attend. pay attention because you'll have to write papers that require detail. 4 tests and 3 papers make up the final grade.
IF YOU SKIP CLASS, YOU WILL NOT PASS THIS CLASS. Her lectures are amazing; super entertaining, hilarious, and raunchy. She drops f-bombs every other sentence and tries to make the topics more interesting with humor. If you go to every single class, pay attention, and take good notes, you can easily get an A.
Super sweet and knows her stuff. She swears all the time and comes off as unprofessional and trying to be "hip", but you learn to ignore it because she's a great lecturer in terms of course material. She posts all the power points but they have very little of the info you need for tests/essays so you probably won't do well if you don't go to class.
I absolutely hate history and this class was my favorite class I took this semester. she makes the material and lectures very interesting and I enjoyed going to class. 2 exams and 2 papers
My favorite class this semester. She's so funny, tries her best to make things relevant and really knows the material. I only skipped once and it was because I was sick and I was upset I had to miss it. I genuinely learned a lot and wish all my classes were like this. You can tell she cares. Would 100% reccommend
By far my favorite class at FSU. She is so funny, relatable, and easy to talk to. Attendance isn't taken, but it is definitely mandatory because the exams are based on her lectures (she doesn't post any online). There are only 2 papers and 2 exams for the class, all of which are easy if you take notes for each lecture. Take her, she's amazing!!
Really great lectures, she's a great person. You only get graded on two papers and two exams, which are both impossible. The exams are full of trick questions and the final is worth 400 points. Go to class and write down every word that comes out of her mouth, because she will ask very specific questions.
Best teacher at Florida State! Went in just to take this as a requirement and left missing the class immediately. Robbins is hilarious and makes class super enjoyable and easy to understand! You will learn a ton of information, but it is not hard to grasp and tests test you on that exact information. You will not regret taking this class!!
BEST Professor at FSU hands down. Robbins is amazing and actually gets you interested in a subject that is hard for most to find interest in. Graded on two papers and two exams but overall they weren't difficult, except for some questions on the final. The way she teaches engages you and its almost like listening to a funny store as she lectures
You have to go to her lectures because she doesn't post notes anywhere else, but her lectures are absolutely fantastic! She cracked me up during every class. This is one of the best classes I've taken at FSU with one of the best professors- I highly recommend!
She is so funny and teaches you about perspectives on history you actually care about rather than just lecturing dates and boring events. She doesn't ask about dates. You have attendance tickets every class and 4 content assessments.
Her lectures are entertaining & shes funny. She cancelled class three times before our second test & we had to read notes online. No one was sure what she was going to test us on. Half of the class failed. Tests make up most of your grade so write down everything she says. Her tests are easy when you take them but you could end up w/ a low score.
We had two professors for the class and they'd switch off lecture days, so was always so excited when it was her turn. I thought it was going to be an easy A but she is a tough grader but as long as you follow the rubric you're fine.
Dr Robbins was the best professor I've had at FSU hands down. I took this class as my required history, but I never expected to be so intrigued and engaged by the USA's immigration history. You have to go to class because she doesn't post the powerpoints, but she is hilarious and so interesting. The work isn't too hard and she's accessible.
I absolutely loved going to this class. She is one of the best professors I have ever had. I definitely could have done better if I studied more. If you have the opportunity to take her, DO IT!
Best teacher at FSU. Makes history interesting and fun. Attendance taken from questions answered on notecards.
Great professor, makes the subject interesting and shes so funny. 2 exams and a non cumulative final along with 2 papers. Exams are worth more than the papers, so focus more on that. Exams are multiple choice but really hard. Doesnt give extra credit or curve your final grade. Doesnt post notes online. Go to class & study hard and youll do well
Professor Robbins has an amazing class, I usually hate history but having her made me change my mind. You have to go to class and write everything she says down but she is hilarious and gives extra credit on each exam. The papers aren't hard because she tells you what to write in class. Definitely take her ASAP!
Probably the best professor I've ever had at FSU. Hilarious and makes lectures entertaining and worth your time. I always looked forward to going to class. Grades are super fair and not work-heavy. Only thing you have to do is take notes. Tests and papers were all fair and if you study you'll be fine. Funniest, kindest woman ever! Take her for sure
This class was remotely taught by Robbins and Mooney. They were very kind, and even gave me full credit for a late assignment, which was nice. Due to the lectures being asynchronous, they were a bit boring, but not too bad. The work is easy and graded generously as well. Just make sure you're keeping up with lectures as they're released.
Dr. Robbins has been my favorite professor since I started college!! She provides you with lectures that are very informative and entertaining. The most important part of this class is watching the weekly lectures, which help you write your papers. She is extremely funny and so kind. I definitely recommend this class!
She is an amazing teacher! She gave the most interesting lectures and you can tell that she is passionate about the subject. I learned a lot in this class! The tests are easy if you take notes and pay attention. I also enjoyed the writing assignment. Overall, I would definitely recommend!
Her class is only graded upon seven quizzes and two papers, which is really nice. Her lectures can seem intimidating, but if you spread them out and take adequate notes you will be fine. Time management, following directions from the rubrics, and reaching out to Professor Robbins or your assigned TA will for sure get an A!
Robbins was super sweet and even though there are a lot of lectures, there's no zoom or textbook readings. Don't wait until the last minute to watch all of them, the people who did that were the ones who complained the most about grades/workload. Her lectures are actually really interesting and engaging and every interaction I had with her was good
Very easy class, quizzes were sometimes hard and basically the only grades. Just watch your lectures and write you immigration letters and you'll be fine. This was asychronous so I don't know her well but she was nice.
I took race and ethnicity in the Spring online and she was a very interesting prof. Her lectures were easy for me to watch because she teaches it as if we have no knowledge and spoke very casually. Write down everything she says, literally everything and youre golden.
Prof. Robbins is so funny! She's the first professor I've had who genuinely makes me laugh and enjoy class. Lectures are engaging and informative. Make sure you actually attend her in-class discussions, as there is a lot of information on the quizzes that is only covered in them. She is very accessible and a great professor!
Dr. Robbins is an amazing professor. You do have to watch the lectures and take notes and I highly recommend attending class because she covers things that aren't mentioned in the assigned lectures. She is extremely nice, funny and makes history lectures enjoyable. She has a clear grading criteria and never assigns an unrealistic workload.
I love this professor. I would give her a 5 if it were based on personality; however, all the lectures you have to do at home before you show up to classlots of lectures. One big paper consists of an outline, draft, and final. Your TA grades you. Few quizzes. You have to take good notes in class or the video lectures to pass the quizzes.
Easily the best professor I've had at FSU thus far. Her lectures and discussions are extremely enjoyable and funny, and she gives very specific information to help you on the quizzes! Make sure you show up to class, because sometimes she will lecture in-person on things she does not cover online. Highly recommend Dr. Robbins!
Professor Robbins is, by far, THE BEST professor I have ever had. Not only is she incredibly woke, she is fantastic at lecturing without making history boring. On a personal level, she is very relatable and hilarious and she will always get back to you via email, and she gives great feedback. This class, AMH2097, is my favorite class ever.
Dr. Robbins is super fun, honest, and understanding. You have to watch the online lectures and be in class because she discusses things that aren't in the lectures. If you show up and put in the work, she makes it easy to pass.
TAKE THIS CLASS! Dr Robbins is easily the best professor I've had at FSU. Lectures are recorded and watched at home & discussions during the class time. The lectures are a lot but they are manageable and her jokes throughout make it worth the listen. Tests are online (MC, T/F) & are exactly like the lectures. Take good notes & u will do good here
Professor Robbins has been one of my favorite professors in college. She is the sweetest and actually makes the class enjoyable. You are graded on five online quizzes, a paper, and the final. Quizzes are straight forward, attendance is not mandatory but go. She talks a lot more in-depth about the material in class which is helpful for the quizzes.
Pamela Robbins is the funniest professor you will ever take. She cares about her students, she is understanding and kind, and her lectures are very interesting and fun to watch. This class has been a real joy and if you are considering her as a professor, I highly recommend you do
One of the best teachers at FSU. She is kind and funny and she makes her lectures enjoyable. This class is lecture heavy, but it is a very doable class. I would 100% take again.
Professor Robbins is an amazing teacher and human. She is so caring and funny which makes class enjoyable to attend. If you generally keep up with the lectures and score well on the tests you'll have a good foundation for final essay and exam. Find a good group of students to study and review assignments with. I wish she taught more classes.
Dr. Robbins is incredibly kind and a great professor. The material is very interesting and her lectures are engaging and funny. Attendance isn't mandatory, there are five quizzes, a paper, and a final. Take this class if you are able to keep up with long lectures and notes. Great class to fulfill the W and Y diversity requirements.
Professor Robbins is absolutely hysterical. Attendance is not mandatory but to ensure a good grade on quizzes, go!!! The material is interesting, has clear grading criteria, and it is just a great class.
Professor Robbins teaches real history from a critical race theory perspective and is one of the best professors at FSU. I would highly recommend taking her class. I think I'm a better person and a better American after learning the truth of American history from her.
Take Professor Robbins if you can! Her online course relied heavily on PowerPoint presentations but she made the material feel so much more interesting than one would think. She teaches enthusiastically and super funny. Very important to take notes, they are basically written out on tests similarly. She gives two papers and drafts beforehand too!
Pamela Robbins is personally a really nice lady. Though if you are not good with history, her class is not for you. History is a really bad subject for me, yet I saw her rate my professor's reviews and gave this class a chance anyways. This was a mistake since I still struggled a lot with the information in this course.
GREAT professor. Watching a million lectures are annoying though because oyu have to take notes for your quizzes which you can use notes. Make sure you rememeber all the quiz questions because she reserves the right to use past quizzes as her final. The two papers aren't bad, those were graded by the TA's and you have a rough draft.
Just here to verify all the other reviews. I took her this semester and she actually made me love history. She makes every time era in history interesting and fun by providing cartoons, having us watch movies, and more. If u take her, GO TO EVERY CLASS. Exams are heavily dependent on lectures but she's also hilarious and fun. Enjoy!!!
Laziest professor I have dealt with in a long time. There are 4 quizzes in the semester and if you do poorly on any one of them kiss your grade goodbye. Her lectures are strange and she teaches things that aren't even history expecting us to recall movie characters and such. Quiz ?'s are absurd and if you miss a lecture it's over. Beware.
I loved Dr.Robbins. She was by far my favorite professor that I have had at FSU. I typically despise history but she made the class very interesting. The only outside work we had was watching online lectures and occasionally watching films that were related to the material. All of the tests were open note except the final.
Lectures were a blast. She is funny and cool. We didn't even have to go to class the second half of the semester.
I didn't like her. She was cringe and made us watch dumb movies instead of teaching us. She also made us learn about pop culture (boring). That being said, most things are online and easy to take, but I still didn't like her. "What did Ice T say to Bob Dylan during the Civil War?" That's what the class was like.
I took Pam's class last semester and I loved it so much I signed up for her other class this semester even though I don't need it for graduation. Pam is one of the most loving professors i have ever had and she is so respectful even if you have opinions that don't align with hers. She stays as late as you need to help clear anything up. 10/10
I never met Professor Robbins since its online, but she seems super nice and always gets back to my emails and is willing to help. The class is graded by very few things and the tests are slightly difficult, but not honor locked which is nice. As long as you listen to all of her ppt with the sound on and write very detailed notes you will get an A.
Professor Robbins is one of the best I've ever had at my time at FSU. For this class, there are 5 quizzes (No Honorlock), and 2 long-form essays. You need to pay attention to the PowerPoint because the quizzes are all based on them. There is audio to listen to which can be anywhere from 1-10 mins. She is AMAZING otherwise though!!
If you hate writing and need to fulfill W req, TAKE THIS CLASS! The writing part was easy and she's clear about grading. The exams, you need to put in the time to take notes on her online lectures and in person lectures, but its not bad. I'd say maybe 2hrs max outside of class time a week. You won't do well if you don't watch and go to lectures.
Dr. Robbins is a great professor who knows her stuff. Lectures are powerpoints with audio over them. Graded on 5 exams and 2 papers (& 2 drafts). As long as you take notes, exams and papers will be very easy. Extra credit available.
I took this class online and it honestly is so much work. You really have to write down everything she says and it's too much effort for a gen ed class, take something else.
Amazing teacher, flexible with due dates if needed. Lectures are genuinely informative as per the exams. The projects are lengthy but not mind- numbingly boring.
Professor Robbins is great and passionate about what she teaches. Her lectures did tend to be very long. The projects throughout the semester are easy if you read the rubric. Tests are most of your grade.
If you don't write down every single thing she says, you won't get As on the tests. Very test heavy and test questions are often points she stated one time in her two hour lecture. Very sweet lady though, just a ton of notes for a class I was expecting to be easy
Syllabus is really straight forward and Dr. Robbins makes her expectations clear. Lectures are pretty long but are manageable to finish if spread out and not done last minute. Taking notes on the lectures are important to get good grades on exams, which is pretty much your entire grade. Watch the lectures and take notes and it's an easy A
Very enlightening class with interesting, humorous lectures. You need to write down basically everything from the lecture because exam questions are very specific, but otherwise they aren't too hard. The one writing project gives plenty of options and is leniently graded with a rubric. Great choice to fulfill many course requirements at once.
The 2 essays required for this course are graded very harshly with little feedback given for the rewrite. Grading is also very inconsistent when comparing essay grades between peers in the class. I follow the rubric thoroughly yet the graders are very nitpicky. Don't recommend it if you're not an amazing writer/expect to be graded at a 2000 level.
Super funny and nice professor! Every week there is a 10-15 question quiz on the lectures. The lectures are powerpoints with her audio recording over it and there can be a lot sometimes. There's two tests and a final and two papers. She grades pretty easy on the papers as long as you follow the rubric. Very easy class to pass if you keep up!
I took this class online and it truly was a testament of willpower. The lecture videos are unnecessarily long and mostly she tests you on specific, little things she says that half the time aren't even written on the PowerPoints she posts. The material isn't hard to understand, so this isn't a hard class it's just annoying.
Easy class if you go through the slides and complete all assignments. There are weekly quizzes and the four lowest grades get dropped. There are also two simple essays and 3 main exams.
I don't understand how this professor has such a high grade. She was rude in any emails sent to her, not understanding at all. Quizzes are very difficult, questions are vague. Writing assignments are very harshly graded. Don't take her.
Dr. Robbins is hilarious and very passionate about what she teaches. I was worried since I have this class online that I may not be able to keep up, but I honestly can say I have been excited to watch Dr. Robbins lectures. The essay graders are a bit harsh, but if you reach out to them they are very helpful in redirecting you, (great for rewrites!)
An amazing and caring professor. Truly hilarious and makes history engaging. She has such a passion for this class and is always accessible for any questions and reviews essays before you submit!
This class is rather easy and you shouldn't have an issue getting an A with normal effort, but seriously, type out every. single. word. she says in lectures and reread it 3 times before quizzes. There will, without fail, be at least one question on some extremely specific detail she said once on every quiz. Otherwise not difficult.
Dr. Robbins has engaging lectures, but the exams require extensive note-taking. Assignments are graded strictly, but helpful feedback is available. Unstuck ai made study prep much easier.
Her lectures were great and I enjoyed her as a teacher. This class had 8 grades 6 of which were tests. It wasn't self paced which made it annoying when completing the lectures and tests. I would take detailed notes on all the lectures and I would still score in the 80s for all the exams.
Sweet and funny teacher. A little lecture heavy but she makes it very interesting, I learned new things here. This class has two easy papers and she allows resubmissions if you don't like your grade. Attendance is not mandatory but if you miss notes for the week you might not do well on the weekly quiz. Easy weekly quizzes and final was open note!
I had her when she co-taught this class with Professor Mooney. Her lectures were boring, but you had to pay attention because she did not put any information on the powerpoints slides, only what was spoken in class. This made the quizzes unnecessarily difficult, as a lot of the info was pulled from what she spoke on once in class.
Great prof, very responsive and respectful. All online, a total of 6 tests, and that's it for assignments. Everything else is reading and watching videos. Very informative and makes the subjects easy to understand.
