I had Ms.Sayre for Honors Great Works and she was really terrific. She is really interested in what students think and puts a lot into her lectures. I just wish I'd have taken her for Ancient History, too.

She is not an easy one, but her lectures are great. If you want to do good in her class just take notes, keep up with her due dates.

she thinks she knows everything and grades her students like they should be historians, her tests are easy until her essay ?, then no matter if she gave you theh answer a weekbefore and you wrote it down thats not good enough because shes gonna tank u

I have had her 3 times and she is fantastic. AT first she is real mean but after the first few classes she opens up and is actually quite amusing. She is very intersting. You have follow her lectures and attend classes, the bibliography project is great.

Very into history, will learn many new things, tests and essays are fair (no tricks). Bibliography assignment is interesting. Good teacher.

I have had Mrs Sayre twice and she is a great teacher...very into what she teaches and helpfull. she focuses on the history you didnt learn in high school. alot of eatsern asian stuff...very fun classes

Very knowledgable teacher. The lectures are interesting and informative. Tests are fairly easy as long as you study her notes and assigned readings. The bibliography project isn't that bad, at least you don't have to write a research paper.

great lectures... if i could have another teacher i would turn them down.. this is the best i have had since i was in middle school when i had Mr. Keisel... hes hands down the best hist teacher i have had... but this one is #2 fo sho...

Lectures are interesting and informative. Tests are kind of hard. She is a tought grader. I did learn in her class. If you are willing to put in the effort and time you can get a good grade. Attendence does count. She grades you if you are late or not. Her bibliography assignment is help if your are taking english 131 or higher. Take good notes.

Mrs. Sayre was nice, but I found her lectures to be rather boring. The class was full, however, only half the people showed up most of the time. I never felt motivated to go to this class. Hard tests and quizes. Be really willing to learn and be challenged if you take her.

She knows how to teach. Her lectures are very interesting and is very helpful. Just study notes and book and u'll ace the test. Strongly recommmend her.

I didn't really like her on a personal level.She's unapproachable and not very nice. However, her lectures are fascinating.I was never bored during her class.She gets into the little interesting details that really paint a picture of personalities and historical events, instead of just reciting names and dates. You do have to work hard to get an A.

She is a good teacher but her class is all lecture, so if that's not your thing then I wouldn't recommend her. You have to be self-motivated in her class. If you show up, take notes, and read the book then you will do fine. Almost no homework, the only tests are midterm and final. If you are a self-motivated student then I would recommend her.

Very demanding,she expects way too much for a history class although i'd have to say she really knows her stuff and apparently thinks we should too. Her lectures are interesting but very hard to follow up on notes. quizzes suck, number of tests not appropriate, first test was the midterm, too much material to cover. tends to be rude sometimes

She's a great teacher who knows her subject. She is very helpful but is slightly aloof, a quality that most students misunderstand. She is always willing to help and her love for History is most touching. She expects you to know the textbook though, and teaches only that which is not covered properly by the textbook.

I'm a 4.0 student, and exceptional in history. Sarye is demanding but you do learn a lot in her class.You have to be a seroius student if you plan on taking her. I showed her i was and She helped get My A. NO SLAKERS TAKE HER YOU WILL FAIL!!

I had Ms Sayer for Ancient World History and she is above and beyond everything that a college level history instructor should be. Im a strait A student, and History is my best subject, but this lady made me work for my A. she plays favorites so if you get on her bad side your in trouble. She liked me so she helped me through the class and proofread my papers. I dont recommend her unless your a 4.0 history buff like me. If your not dead serous about this class DO NOT TAKE!!!!!

She comes off a little rude sometimes, but is a very good teacher. Her projects look hard at 1st, but are not bad and are worth a big part of your grade. She gives open note quizzes and gives out review sheets for tests that prepare you totally. I would recommend her if you want to learn, if not, then you'll have trouble.

She was the rudest teacher i've ever had. She does know her stuff though, but tries to treat grown adult like children. I got yelled at for getting up and going to the bathroom! She make the class a litte hard for no reason.

I'm student who has taken classes in OCC and WSU. This class hands down has been the worst experience of my academic life. Yes, she is a bit understanding & has more knowledge then wikipedia. However, she doesn't have personality skills. She is some what helpful, depending on her mood.Overall experience- i'm suprised she hasn't been kicked out yet!

This is one of my favorite teachers. I found her class informative and interesting. However I do agree that she can tend to stray from the subject at hand and ramble for a bit. The bibliography project in the class is not hard, despite what some may say. There is a study guide before each test, which has the whole test on it. Enjoy either way!

I read many of the posts listed. I find it amazing that some of you that wrote that your an "A" student, yet you cannot spell for crap. If you intended on going to college to get a quick and easy ride, maybe you should go to a trade school.

I agree with the guy below me. If you do not want to work, don't come to college. Her class is incredibly structured and easy.She will help with any projects every step of the way to ensure you get 100%. I've found most people who complain are people who just expect to show up and get a grade. Take notes, do your project, and show up to class = A+

I didn't find her rude at all; very helpful, actually. One thing I'd say is that she strays from the subject too much. A lot of what she says, she doesn't test you on. The bibliography project was ok. She'll help you if you show it to her early. Don't miss class, because some notes are important, and you could be quizzed on it the next day!

Good teacher. Not too hard, but not too easy.

I don't get the bad reviews? Everything is based off the lecture, quizzes are open note, and the project is EASY!!! She's a no nonsense teacher. I guess that's why the 18 year olds don't like her? You have to pay attention and take notes, no messing around. It's a really easy class and I find both of her classes very interesting.

I learned more in this class than any other this semester. She gives no homework except a bibliography; which I admit was a pain but other than that as long as you read and go to class you should do fine.

If you are a history major, I strongly suggest that you take her class. Her research projects will help you later in your major. I enjoyed her class! She's awesome!

I was scared to take her class because of the comments, but was pleasantly surprised. Her class was well structured & instructions for assignments were clear. I don't understand the negative comments! Take good notes, study & do the few assignments she gives & you'll be fine. Her class truly isn't that difficult. I think people are just lazy.

Very intelligent, she knows what shes talking about, take good notes and you will pass! She is very experienced in her field. I would defiantly recommend this class.

Mrs. Sayre's a good history teacher. She gives the occasional open-note quiz, but her main projects are a city project and a bibliography about a subject within the time period of the class she teaches. However, she appears to not have gotten the memo that college students are not little kids who need permission to go to the bathroom.

She can be unintentionally intimidating. However, her lectures were extremely insightful and I learned A LOT from her class. She gives quizzes which are open note, and a midterm and final. There's a huge project that can drag on but she's there to answer any questions you may have and we turn in 2 rough drafts before the final project. Great class!

Lectures are clear and gives many chances to turn things in. If you don't turn something in when it's due, you will get half or partial credit for turning it in late. Don't take your phone out during class and don't leave the room or leave early until you've made sure it's okay. READ THE SYLLABUS.

Professor Sayre is a wonderful professor. People have to understand that this is college, it's not high school. When you go to college you are on your own, which means reading the textbook, studying, and making sure that you are on track. Therefore, the grade that you get from her is the grade you deserve. Mrs. Sayre is awesome. I went from almost dropping the class to getting a B. It's because I was willing to put in the time and she recognized that. Couldn't take my midterm on time, she let me take it after spring break. Couldn't take my final on time either, she gave me ax extra day. She's willing to work with you till the very end so you can pass

Professor Sayre is the best she knows the subject really well and she knows how to teach it she gives 8 quizzes she only takes the best five you have the study guides are just like the midterm/final and you'll have to take really good notes and pay attention and always come to class she is always there for help you'll do great!!!

My first class in HFC and I loved it. I really enjoyed the lectures, she's amazing! We get a few quizzes and have 5 minutes to complete them while using our notes. The midterm was easy. Covid took over and it was online, she gave us more than one chance to retake our final exam!
