She's a great prof, is willing to take as much time needed
She SUCKS
Awesome prefessor, good online class!
The material isn't easy... so many ways to get extra help... don't fall behind!
I hated Pam, but I have to admit that she is very willing to help her students

lots of extra credit... very accomodating
one of the best professors in the school, always willing to help her students
So clear, explains concepts very well, offers way more help other profs. A+++++
Very structured course! Great professor!
Awesome professor, fairly demanding material, but she's always willing to help
THIS CLASS SUUUCKS. But Pam is fair and generous with grades if you do your work

Hard class. Prof is decent. Way too much homework

Really great class. Lot of work, but structured well. She is very helpful too. I wouldnt take this class for the fun of it, as it does require alot. Great online class!
She's an awesome teacher, but the class requires a lot of effort.

very clear on the material, but the tests were hard. she's available for out-of-class help often though
first time she taught it. she is a very clear teacher and explains well. however, the class was on the boring side. it is very demanding and so don't take this if u dont have a lot of time. she is the most AWESOME teacher when it comes to extra help!
Accting is not easy for everyone. She's very helpful and sticks to her pledge for extra help. Gives printable notes and provides her lecture slides online. Explains clearly about everything in class but exams are tough.

Pam is truly a wonderful human being. She will probably be one of the best professors I will ever have. She cares alot about her students. I dont know why but she reminds me of mother Teresa. If you put in a little effort, then it wont be that bad.
Always prepared for class and friendly
She seems nice until you go to her office hours. Totally makes you feel like you're the dumbest person alive. Her lectures are boring, she gives tons of homework, and her assignments are useless, even the TAs agree. You just have to get through this.
shes a nice lady, the only problem is that accounting is the most boring subject alive. better her teach it than anyone else. STILL THE WORST CLASS IVE EVER TAKEN.
took the course online. She was extremely helpful and quick to answer every question, no matter how stupid it may be. A lot of work.
Best proffesor I've ever had. She is tough but always prepared for class and clear about course material. A great person too!
Excellent at giving extra help to anyone who put forth a little effort. Tough subject matter though. Really respectful of students needs.
Just plain awful
Class subject was boring, but she always seemed to be prepared, would take a class with her again.
She's tough but fair. Shes a great teacher and explains everything thoroughly. Her TA's are great too.
She tried to make this class hard and loved watching kids suffer. She was mean, and going to her office hours made you feel like a complete idiot. She has no problem failing people, assigns so much work and is not clear at all.
This class SUCKS. She's soooo boring and her lectures are horrible and the exams SUCK. There is a ton of work for the class, she treats the class like it's your major. Don't take it if you don't have to.
First time i took it I didn't try and failed. Second time I took it I did the work and applied myself and I have an A. You get what you give wit this class, big lecture makes it kinda hard though.
Her classes are really organized and as long as you do the basic requirements can get a good grade.
Trafford was a great professor. She was always prepared and taught extremely well. Materials could get a bit boring, but she taught us everything we needed to know. Her exams are just HARD, but it is doable.
She is very honest! You know from the start what to expect and what to do. There are a lot of opportunities for extra help in her class, 25 hours of extra help. She works hard and expects you to do the same. Good, hard working and honest professor.
moves too fast, and isn't very clear about anything!

She's a good teacher. Class wasn't easy, but you can get an A if you're willing to study and do the owls.
expects students to understand info the first time. tests are really harsh, no straight up questions, everything has a twist. her TA's know the info and are very helpful. lots of busy work
One of the worst teachers I've had at UMASS. Learning subject matter is very hit or miss. You either get it right away or never ever will. The type of class that you can study and do a lot of work for, but still only pull off a D.
Pam Trafford is a great woman and is truly devoted to her students. Acctg is a hard subject and you can't expect to come into this course and have it be a piece of cake. She really works hard to make sure that students understand the material and is very fair. More than willing to give extra help
Awesome teacher, very helpful, hard subject but she makes it much easier
means well, teaches poor. a class learning accounting should not be so large and she does not seem to care if you do well or not. It is like she has been doing this for so long that she just throws it out there and some students catch on, most dont.
Very good professor. If you want to actually learn at school then take her. Shes not that hard either. I got an A/B in 221.
Professor Trafford is very organized and has all lectures posted on her website. You have to learn through the website and the owls. She's a fair grader and a very nice lady. Sometimes its hard to learn in class. Discussions and TAs are extremely beneficial.

exams were hard- she a type of teacher that likes to put unnessary information in a problem to screw you all up- tough, try a different professor
No Comments
She is an excellent teacher for the beginning class. It's a huge lecture hall, but she is very organized. Notes are posted online, and she posts practice exams, scores to exams and your wrong and right answers all online. I thought the class was good and I learned a lot.
This is weed out class. You might like her for 221 but 321 is a totally different class. Take someone else if possible, otherwise you teach yourself everything and take tricky exams.
While she is a good teacher, she has way too much time of her hands apparently because she tries to trick you on the exams. Will teach clear but the exams are tough and I would not suggest to take as an elective.
first of all, the lectures are boring. i personally couldnt focus at all with 300 other kids in mahar. that's really not her fault. but the thing is, she tries to screw you over as much as possible on the exam
No Comments
Don't believe the hype, the class is easy, all you have to do is study for the exams and learn the type of questions she asks. They are worded funny so just be careful and you can get an A. She likes to trick you so look out! Otherwise, a grat teacher who is very clear and made accounting enjoyable.. go figure?
RUN!!!!!!! you have no other choice besides her... good luck. she's a b*tch.
Prof. Trafford is a great teacher, she is organized, always prepared, and is interested in helping everyone succeed. She tries to be as available as possible to the students, with her own hours and her TA's. She forces you to study, and sometimes it can be more than other classes, but if you suck it up and do the work the tests are no big deal.
Not a difficult class...if you think it is, maybe you should rethink your major
One of few professors with real world experience. The information is complicated, but she's always available if you ask for help. Tests are tricky, but so is real life, and she always shows you the tricks in class. If you won't go to class or do homework you won't do well, but you won't do well in any accounting class that way.
Great teacher- gives her student help all the time. Subject matter is hard, so you actually have to learn, which I know is so awuful for most of you, but isn't that why you're in college.
outstanding teacher. you can ace this course if you do the work...read the book and do all of the assigned homework problems. if you're a slacker and want to skate through, then change your major to philosophy or something. accounting is not easy and requires work to do well (just ask Dennis Kozlowski).
She sucks ALOT. She's teaches some required courses so that sucks but if you can take this or any of the other classes she teaches with a different teacher, DO IT!!! She is only good for goody-goody accounting majors
Extremely clear with what she expects out of you. Plenty of work but it is managable, so as long as you stay on top of things it is fine. DEFINATELY take advantage of OWLs, they will seriously help your grade.
the class sucks, takes lots of reading and studying. she is so tricky on tests, its hard to do well even when you understand the material.
Hope you're good at teaching yourself out of a****ty book b/c that's what you're gonna do. That and the owls... cuz pam sucks and she makes the most trickiest tests ever and admits it.
tremendous amount of work required and she seems to enjoy that; not convinced this is the best way to learning accounting
Prof. Trafford piles on the work to a degree that learning is impossible and then seems to be completely blind to the reality that this hurts rather than helps students. People stumble though and only those with massive prior accounting experience learn anything. She needs to seriously re-think her process.
this class is horrible with her but you cant avoide it if you are som students. tests are extreamly tricky and going to class doesnt really help. but get a good TA and go to discussion, it'll help a lot
She tries to be helpful and I'll give her credit for that, but the tests are impossibly difficult to the point that they seem to written more as brain teasers than as true tests of what we have learned. This is not a sign of a good professor.
on-line challenging course for a non-accountant, but dedicated, helpful instructor.
her workload is just rediculous, and she is a bit of a cold person. when you need help she is just not able to provide it and her tests are very hard and almost impossible to study for. I would not recommend taking her in the upper level classes, she is a much different teacher in 321 than 221 or 222.
Took this class online. Be prepared it is ALOT of work in the first few weeks. After that it tapers off. She assigns homework, quizzes, discussions and mini projects. There is alot of work, however she is very flexible. the homework grade is a 100 as long as you do it. Discussions are not a lot of work, about 15 min a week but be on time with those
This was an online class. She was very willing and helpful when help was requested. With a valid issue she was flexible with her schedule. Her class was the hardest class I've ever taken in my life. The work load took over my life. There were tests, quizes, readings, projects, homework from the book and online homework.
took her class during winter session...great teacher who really understands and is interested in what she is teaching...there was a fair amount of homework but was manageable..tests are tricky so be carefu;..otherwise she is an awsome teacher
I thought the class was fairly easy but I already had alot of Accouting experience. A bunch of people in the class were Engineers or Med and they really suffered! She useds the OWLs for hw/quizzes and practice exams. Note: I took the clas online.
Tough class for me as someone who is not math oriented. Tests can be tricky so it is best to do all the 'Owls' and homework assignments. Grading is very fair and she is always open to take extra time to go over things. I took this in the Summer so there were only 8 of us. I can't imagine taking it with a class off over 200.
She is a very challenging professor. She has a real passion for teaching. Although there is a lot of work involved in the class, she is quick to thoroughly answer any question you may have. If you are an accounting major I highly recommend taking courses from her, she is very challenging, but will teach you a lot about your future profession.
Great teacher to have for 321. I suggest going to class-in-class quizzes that she goes over (free pts) and go to her office hours!! She is a very helpful professor. You have to do out problems on the exam though, so know your stuff!!!!
I've never learned so much from one course. I took the ACCT 221-online. There was a lot of coursework, but she was very helpful. If you want to go into the field of Accounting I highly recommend her. She is very challenging, but knowledgable. I just signed up for ACCT 222-online and look forward to learning more about my future profession.
Very helpfull, I had 3 class with her, loved.
Great teacher. Gives alot of graded homework and quizes to help boost your grade if you dont do so well on exams. Plus she scales exams which helps too.
Very available, class is well developed and schedule is not too difficult
Class is hard work, but if you put the time in you do well. Imagine that.
One of the best professors ive ever had..She'll work you harder than some of the other 321 teachers but there really isn't thaat much work..Tests can be a bit tricky but all 321 tests are and she prepares you well for them..She explains material very well and is very nice and helpful if you go to her office hours. definitely recommend
Great online course. Lots of work, but I learned alot. Never had accounting before. Tests are long, but relatively straight-forward if you do the lectures and OWLs. Would recommend Trafford.
Difficult class with a good amount of work for non-accounting people. Fair teacher that explains accounting terms pretty clearly.
Pam is an excellent professor. I ttok the online MBA class and there was a lot of work, but all needed to be successful. She provided PPT with audio narration, made extensive use of the OWL's and there were quizzes every week. I was very fearful of Accounting and she made it understandable. DON'T get behind. Do work every week and it is doable.
Great teacher. Do the assigned work and get an easy A. She was very helpful and accommodating and had plenty of office hours. The tests were kind of hard but if you did the assigned work they'll be a piece of cake.
A lot of work but I really learned accounting well. A real MBA level course.I had to work hard but grading is very fair. I would take any class from her.
This class isn't easy even if you have a good grasp of accounting. HW system doesn't help much bc you can figure out the answers w/o knowing the concept behind it. Only 1 example in class to explain material and its hard to get the whole picture. Do all of the hw and it will help your grade-tests are difficult at first till your used to her style.
Great course and Professor! Not an easy one though -- Lots of work and it gets complicated for non-accounting people that doesn't take the time to review all the material and do the homework.
If you want to learn accounting you must go with Prof Trafford. Lots of work and studying, but there is no better way to learn other than practicing. It gets complicated if you don't follow the classes accordingly.
Trafford keeps you on your toes. Not an easy professor, but she teaches real MBA level accounting courses. You'll work hard for your grade, but you are sure to learn the material. One of the best teachers Isenberg possesses. If you read the book, do the assigned HW and OWLs, follow her lectures, you will do well.
This is the third accounting class I've taken and I've learned the most about the subject from Dr. Trafford. It's not an easy course but the professor is serious about teaching and has a passion for the subject.
A really nice professor that has a genuine passion for teaching. You have to work in her class if you want to do well. Her exams are pretty tuff but if you attend class regularly you should be fine. She is really great at explaining things and always made herself readily available for extra help at her office. Trafford is great professor!
Awesome!
Materials are hard, you have to work for your grades. But shes a very nice lady, good at explaining materials. she does scale exams, but exams are 10+ pages with less than 5 multiple choice questions, rest of them are open response questions. OVERALL: I recommend to take the class with Prof. Trafford. Good luck!
Not an easy professor, but she will make you learn. You have to cover EVERY piece of material she gives you, or your grade will suffer.
Attend this class if you want to learn accounting! Trafford is an excellent Professor. Lots of material to cover and homeworks to do if you want to get an A, but still worth the effort.
This class is the first time that I've actually understood accounting! Lots of work but great explanations provided on the material.
She covers material fast but one of the best teachers I've had. Have to pay attention and go to class but overall its not too hard
Excellent instructor - one of the best I"ve had in the MBA program. Class is very challenging, particularly if you have no background in accounting like me. But her explanations and problems are outstanding and really helped me learn the concepts.
Prof. Trafford is an excellent teacher but be prepared for a LOT of work, and everything needs to be completed on a schedule - if you work full time and/or can't study on weeknights, don't plan any vacations or getaways during this class as you will need every weekend for studying.
Course requires lot of work and is very fast paced. Professor is very good, clear with the expectations and infuses interest in the subject. You will work a lot but will also learn a lot in the end.
Go to class. Many pop quizzes, but receive most credit for just putting your name. A lot of work, but in a good way and at a steady pace. She forces you to learn. GO TO ClASS, you learn a lot more this way and are rewarded.
She's really helpful and helps you learn everything! She's good at answering questions, she even answered one for me right before an exam! Go to class all the problems she does are on the exam and you get a cheat sheet!
This is by far the hardest class I have taken in the MBA program. She gives a TON of work and it never stops until the semester ends. She knows her stuff, but perhaps a little too well. Her expectations are unrealistic as is the workload.
Demanding instructor, but fair. I came to the class with a modest knowledge of the accounting cycle and left with a lot more comfort than I imagined. Substantial workload--be advised if you're taking SCH-MGMT 630. The exams and quizzes are fairly challenging, so be prepared.
Prof. Trafford is fantastic. I knew absolutely nothing about accouting beforehand and she made it so easy to learn. She is very clear and always shows an interest in helping her students learn. Go to class, the in class activities are extremely helpful. You have to work hard to get a good grade but she really helps you acheive it.
Not an easy class, but great professor. Her tests are REALLY tricky but if you study and put in the work you'll be fine. Lecture not mandatory but discussions are. DO NOT fall behind in class or you will be in trouble later on.
Love her. You can tell she really cares and is willing to go out of her way to help you succeed. She is also one of the best lecturers I've had at UMass. Going to class is not mandatory, but can be very helpful if you pay attention. She even gave me an early start to the exams. Love her!
Really great professor. Going to lectures is not mandatory but it helps. She is a great lecturer and it doesn't feel like the class is 300 people. She is clear and explains everything. There is a lot of work but it all helps to understand the material. I would highly recommend taking her.
Very dull, never explains things twice or makes connections. If you go to class and listen the entire time you'll be fine, it's just hard to listen to her monotonous voice for an hour and fifteen
She's a great teacher, but if you're not good at taking multiple choice exams in Math, you will not do well. Her grade is mostly exams (26% each exam) and everything else, labs, spark quizzes, owls, and projects will only equate to 20% of your grade, and will barely help your grade if your exams aren't great.
Extremely boring class you WILL fall asleep every single class. Slides are online as is homework. You get to redo OWLS until you get them right. Pam knows her stuff but it just happens to be very boring stuff. I had to pull all-nighters for every test and still came out with a C+. Not a fun class but with the right amount of effort you can do well.
I thought the prof was great; I really like how she did her online class. So many people say that she was really hard, but I found her FAR easier than Prof. Machuga, who expected you to teach yourself. Prof. Trafford is EXTREMELY fair, her video lectures are awesome, and other than the class being time consuming, I thought it was easy.
Professor Trafford is a great professor. She makes sure all of the concepts are very clear, and gives a lot of examples to solidify them. You definitely have to study for the exams, but the required OWLs and homeworks help along the way. Lab is helpful too, if you get a good TA. Overall, a good class.
Heavy workload. Exams total 80% of your grade so be careful. LOVE pam, I never learned so much from one course. This class made me switch my major to accounting!
Professor Trafford is one of the best accounting professors in Isenberg. The class is hard but if you pay attention and do all the work you should do fine. Big class and easy to get lost if you do not keep up. Take notes on the examples and OWLs and use to study and you should do fine. Anyone can get an A if they really try.
Great professor. Genuinely cares about her students and making sure they understand the material. Challenging but definitely worth it. Can't say enough great things about Pam.
Pam is great, really wants to help her students. If you do the textbook homework instead of just copying answers from online, it will really help understand the material. She is very good. Exams aren't all that easy but straight forward and similar to practice tests.
Great class learned a lot, required a lot of work and the test are very hard requiring mastery of the subject.
Her lectures are way too long and very hard to listen to. She is organized, but the way she does things sucks. You'll read the book, watch the lecture, and then take a test on info you never learned. It's like she deliberately tries to make every question difficult. On the plus side she lets you redo your hw so you can get 100%
Tough subject and boring teacher. Exams are difficult and she goes so quickly in content it is hard to follow. I would recommend to buy the book and read it BEFORE the lectures so you might have a small idea what she is talking about.
Pam is a great professor who will make you learn the material. The course load is aggressive, but it's manageable if you pick and choose what you do. For example, I didn't do the textbook problems. The OWLs and the quizzes give you an idea of what you're going to see on the tests, although the tests are more confusing than either of those two.
Took a second accounting semester with Pam and had no issues with the flow of work since I had her for financial accounting also. She is a good professor, unless you just want to skate by and not really learn anything.
I was very impressed by the quality of the Professor Trafford's teaching. Her lectures are so clear and detailed that reading the text is almost unnecessary. The homework assignments prepare you well for the quizzes. Great class! I'm amazed by how much I learned in 3 weeks.
Prof Trafford might be the best instructor I've ever had. I'm not sure I'll ever meet another teacher capable of such clear explanations. She is a master - both in class AND online. I hate accounting. It's boring and difficult. But Prof Trafford makes sure you understand it.
Pam is fantastic! Yes, she is tougher than most. Lots of quizzes and tests. Her problems are tricky but always fair. Listen to all lectures. Create Excel models based on her lectures for every topic. Do the OWLs over until you master them. If I was in undergrad, I would have switched to accounting just to take her again. Pam is a great prof. A++
I dreaded taking this required class, but Pam Trafford does an outstanding job providing excellent lectures, pdf slides and useful homework problems. If you do the work, then 10 quizzes and 3 tests will be a straightforward review. One easy group project. Minimal discussion posts quota. No papers. She shaved the work load down from prior classes.
Tough to combine financial and managerial acct'g into 1 course, but she does a superb job of it. Two tough topics, but if you work at it, she will make sure you come away with a solid understanding. Quite responsive, very clear and informative lectures. Toughest course in online MBA program, but she does a great job of teaching it.
I took a hybrid Acctg 222 class with Pam. For a non-major, Pam makes accounting bearable. She's happy to help and is very good at explaining things. She was extremely organized when creating the hybrid course - she seems to recognize that students don't have infinite time out of the classroom. Few online lectures and hw's a week, one class session.
She is an amazing professor, who makes your interest grow on the subject. I am a non major in accounting, but her lectures are so clear, along with homework and OWL - makes it a wonderful semester with lot of learning. I would strongly recommend her. She gives plenty of time in the quizzes, 2 hrs per quiz, wow! 3 exams are standard
Prof Trafford is excellent; very knowledgeable, organized, and responsive. She is understanding of the challenges of part-time/working adults and reasonable with extension requests. However, she will make you work for the grade. The class was a considerable effort. In particular, exams and quizzes required a solid understanding of materials.
By far the hardest class I've ever taken. I spent at least triple the time "anticipated" by the professor on the content each week and another 40 hrs of studying for each exam and quiz. She makes up her own questions and they are not the same as the HW. I felt like I was being tricked on every single one and most don't allow you to show your work.
I would cry if forced to take another class by Pamela. I can't see how she has all of these good reviews on here. There is a difference between making students "think" on their exams vs. purposely including confusing questions (sometimes missing important information) or items not covered on homework assignments. Steer clear at all costs!
She is very gracious and gives flexibility where needed. This class is 4 credits so it's a lot of work and very time consuming, but she is helpful and available and will help whenever she can. Her lectures are good and overall she made a dry topic interesting and accessible. I would recommend her to anyone.
Tough. I thought ACC221 was bad, this is ALL on your own. Would try to take somewhere else, I really struggled and theres a lot of 'tricking' in her exams.
I took this class online and it was a good choice overall. Relatively easy content, just make sure to do all of the homework and watch the lectures so you don't get behind. Tests are pretty straightforward
This is a 4 credit MBA class, and it shows. By far the most involved class I've taken in the program (half way through). I spent countless hours reviewing the lectures and redoing the OWL problems to understand the subject (both financial and managerial accounting.) It was an absolutely wonderful (but time-consuming and difficult) course!
Prof. Trafford's lessons were very clear and easy to understand. She was also very accessible and routinely took part in online discussions, answering student's questions. I highly recommend her as a professor.
This is a total teach-yourself class. If you are organized and stay on top of all the connect homework and owls, you'll do fine in the class. Tests are straightforward but can definitely be tricky, so don't underestimate how much you should study. Test are basically the bulk of your grade so definitely clear up any confusion with TAs beforehand
Course is half online and half in class. It was extremely difficult... The tutors weren't helpful at all. Soooo much homework you'll be doing it for hours. Exams are unclear.
Professor Trafford clearly cares about her students. Her lectures are the best I've seen in online courses. This is a very difficult class and subject, but you won't find a better teacher for it.
This class is part online and part in class. The tests are difficult, even if you do all of the work in class, the tests are confusing. Pay attention
you have at least 3 types of homework to do every week, plus the handout in class, tests is heavy.
Structure and grading scale are absolute worst. Class sessions are a waste of time going over homework/handouts and not actually learning any new material. I think it is an embarrassment that the professor is not involved with the class in almost any capacity, in fact, I haven't even seen her in person. Also zero extra credit opportunities.
Have yet to take the Final Exam but honestly this class isn't too bad. Any Accounting class you take will often be a little boring and drag on towards the end of the semester. Pam is a very good professor and her grading is pretty Exam Heavy. Just study for the exams and you should be able to pull off at least a B in the class.
First online class and I think she was fantastic. This is a very difficult class but if you work a little every day you can do well. The video's are great and the Professor explains everything so you really learn a lot. If you are having problems, contact her and she will help. If you need an extension don't be afraid to ask. I hope I am able
She is the coordinator of the class, the only in class stuff are labs weekly. She puts videos online for her part of the course, and well 50% aren't her talking, and honestly, those are objectively the better ones (not hers). Her issue is in her questions which are often not scanned for errors, filled with tricky wording, TAs know more than her.
Tests in this class were tricky and lectures were boring. Tests were heavily weighted and there were no extra credit opportunities. Pamela is a nice lady but I did not enjoy taking a class with her.
I was very apprehensive initially since Accounting was not my field of expertise but after completing her course, I can confidently say that I have learnt a lot from her and understood more about accounting than from anyone else in my life.
Pam really knows the material. Class was not usually very exciting, but she gave us good practice problems and cleared up confusion. The class was mostly online and met once a week, so attendance was important.
Pam is super annoying but the context itself isn't hard.
Prof. Trafford is outstanding. Her class is pretty hard, but if you work for it, you'll do well. Her lectures are really well done. Especially compared to some of the other teachers I've encountered, Prof. Trafford is really well prepared, explains things well, and wants you to do well. She is really fair and I learned a lot.
This course surprised me! I went in with dread, but I actually liked it! Professor Trafford did a great job of introducing everyone to accounting. You can tell that she wants everyone to do well. Listen to her and do the work a little at a time instead of all at once and you'll do well. I found her lecture videos very soothing. Is that weird?
Professor Trafford is a wonderful teacher and her lecture videos were great. This class required more of my time and focus than any other course Ive taken so far. One day while taking a quiz I looked out my window and saw a deer and got a lower grade than I was capable of. Im not blaming the deer. Im just saying: stay focused and youll do well.
Her lectures were very clear and concise.
Pam is a great professor for accounting majors who are willing to work hard! Very straightforward and explains things clearly and thoroughly. Quizzes are very fair if you understand the in-class worksheets. Connect is annoying but not too hard esp with unlimited tries. Very accessible and really wants students to understand the concepts!
Do yourself a favor and keep up with the material. The majority of the class just keeps building off the previous.
65% of the grade is based off of 5 exams. (Don't plan on using the internet for help; answers aren't there). Connect homework, learnsmarts, and other assignments make up the remainder of your grade. Plan on spending 10-20 hours a week doing the homework, both the assigned AND non assigned or you WILL NOT pass the exams. No extra-credit. Good prof.
Sychronized online class. Class is exctremely well structured and organized. I really appreciated the tasklist for each unit, which made planning and spacing out my time commitments very easy. All the homework built up to the quizzes and the quizzes built up to the tests. I learned a lot and would definitely take Prof Pam Trafford again.
Very monotoned
Prof. Trafford is a gift from the gods to the subject of Accounting. She's incredibly gifted at teaching- tons of people are good at accounting but take her class and it will stick. I would take her again in a heartbeat. Grading is appropriate- she will make you work for it in exams and grades on a curve for homework and quizzes. 10/10!!!!
Professor Trafford genuinely wants you to succeed. There is no reason to not get an A in this class; the quizzes are easier than the homework and she thoroughly prepares you for each one, plus they are online and open note. She automatically rounds connect homework grades from 85% to 100%. She has been my favorite accounting professor at UMass.
Dr Trafford was able to make accounting understandable for those of us who are not accountants. It was one of the most difficult classes I took in the MBA program, but if you put in the time and effort there is no reason you can't do well and learn a lot. Recorded lectures are extremely helpful and appropriately paced to understand the material.
Knowledgeable professor but the amount of work in this class will destroy your mental health. Unfortunately you have no choice but to take this course, just be ready to have no semblance of a life outside of this class. Focus on lecture videos as the book is a waste of time and money. Some good material in course overall but extremely overwhelming.
Awful teaching methods and lots of unnecessary work. Professor Trafford teaches like it's 1950 and computers and software do not exist. Too much focus on doing calculations instead of understanding concepts. Ridiculous amount of work every week that feels very disconnected to today's work tasks and reality. Avoid if you can!
All material was very clear and grading was exceptionally fair. If you struggle in this class you didn't try very hard.
If you watch the lectures and do the online homework, you will do well on the quizzes and exams. Would take this class with Professor Trafford again.
Focused on quantity not quality. Great lectures but need to be revised to incorporate technology. No one does manual accounting anymore. Lots of unnecessary homework, quizzes, and exams. Need to incorporate technology and avoid the focus on manual calculations.
I really enjoyed Professor Trafford's class. Initially I was intimidated but if you work each module, you'll do fine. I did not use my book at all; I watched the lectures, did the owl homework, and then took the quiz. The quizzes and exams were graded on a curve and I ended up doing extremely well in class.
Professor Trafford's class is challenging but rewarding. Attend lectures, do the work, and you'll do well. unstuckstudy helped me stay on track with practice quizzes and study tools - a lifesaver!
Professor Trafford is extremely nice. The class is fair and she is very knowledgeable. Easy to succeed
Pam is so kind and caring. Lectures are recorded on echo 360 but she usually passes out a paper handout so I highly recommend going to class. There's 5 quizzes (exams) but she lets you use notes and they're online - pretty easy (except the last one). She is really sweet and knowledgeable. I love Pam.
This class builds upon what you have learned, falling behind will cause confusion.Assignments were difficult and took a long time, so do not procrastinate. Test were easier than assignments. Lectures were boring.
