Awful teacher. Boring. Doesn't know what she is teaching. Acts syrupy nice, and then screwes you over on grades. I would highly not reccomend.
She's very nice and very helpful. She wants to make sure students understand the fundamentals of this course. She wants students to do well and expects students to read and do the work. Overall she is a very good instructor, i recommend.
DO NOT CHOOSE THE TAKE HOME FOR THE SECOND EXAM - IT'S NEARLY IMPOSSIBLE TO GET A PASSING GRADE - ESPECIALLY SINCE GRAMMAR IS WHAT SHE GRADES YOU ON.
Exams are not easy, but she does curve the first one. Take home exam is not that bad. Must attend class because she does have some quizzes/excercises. 15 hours of community service which is worth 20 percent of your grade. Easy "B" at least.
Promotes student interaction in class discussions and projects. If you do the reading and complete the assignments this class is not very hard, but you do learn a lot. Friendly and helpful instructor!
What a witch. Don't ever take her.
Proffesor is totally cool. Very understand about late work if there is a good enough reason. the tests are somewhat difficult because you hardly use the book in class and the book is what teh test is based on. Very easy to approach if you have any question. 2-MD, 1-F, and 1-project. Start on the Group Project as soon as possible
Very nice, approachable, energetic, fair, and communicates clear expectations. Tries to make things interesting. I question people who says she grades too hard - perhaps they have poor writing skills. She does count off for bad grammar and spelling, and she has higher expectations of the take home midterm than the in-class essays. Recommended.
I do not recommend this teacher. She is so fake and she grades hard. Her lectures are boring, you must show up to class because she likes to give pop quizzes.
She is by far the most horrible and unfair teacher at SJSU. She completely screwed me on my grade. I do NOT recommend her at all.
She is a very nice teacher. Dont expect a good grade though unless you are respectable on the test. My grade i hope will be a B. To do good go to class more than a little at least skim the recommended chapters, and know how to apply all models. Take the class
She is a horrible professor.Screwed me on my grade, gives quizes when she see's a certain # of people didnt make it to class. Class turned into an out of control debate class and then you get points taken off if u dont jump in and start argueing. Got high grade on the final and my grade went down??how is this possible.Stongly advise DO NOT TAKE HER
Difficult class, she is very approachable and accomodating, students must put out a lot of effort.
Very nice lady, but the class is not very good.Mandatory 15 hours community service outside your regular schedule. She tries to cover a lot and end up confussing everything. Her classes are for debate and everything you say is ok.However, on the test make sure you put what she wants to hear or you are out.Study the PPT slides and forget about textboo
class is not easy but u learn alot. teacher is energetic and cares for students. i recommend
lectures are not that bad... very energetic prof. homework is easy. exams are too hard b/c they are way too detailed and tricky. service group project which requires 15 hrs outside of class per person. i would not recommend her.
Omfg. I don't get why you people grade her so hard but this class is like a piece of cake. Just go to her class or don't even. But do learn the material through the slides which is short. And alteast you should get a B. Besides, she is so nice. Her project is so easy. Pick BooKaLoud and help out the library. Easy A!!!!!!!!

Great teacher. I don't see how someone could give her such harsh ratings, unless they just didn't do any work in this class and expected an A. The material and concepts in the text are very dry, but she makes it fun to learn and attend class. I highly recommend her.
Very nice teacher. She is very interested in the subject of org. management. I had fun in her class. A lot of easy points in homeworks and labs. Just come to class and study for midterms. The project is easy. I had fun and was not stressed at all.
Great teacher!
This lady rocks! She is very approachable and easy to get along with. He class is structured like a lab. So, it's mandatory that you go to class each time. The good part about this is that you earn easy points by particpating and you get a to meet a bunch of other students. She is a very kind lady. I highly recommend her.
This teacher is amazing! I took her over the summer and she kept me awake! Daily group activities for participation points.Homework is easy, study her powerpoints and you will do fine on the quizzes/tests. No group project and the final was comprehensive but it was optional. Quizzes are mostly MultipleChoice with 1 or 2 fill-in. Take her class!!
I didn't expect to like this class but I learned alot! Lots of group discussions so you don't fall asleep watching powerpoint slides.
I took her over the summer I was dreading taking her class, but I really ended up enjoying it. Defintely take her, you get points for part, easy quizzes, final was optional.
Took her during the Fall. 2 mid-terms (drop lowest), 1 final, 1 group powerpoint presentation. Pop quizzes but nothing too hard. Homework posted after almost every class. Do the homework or it'll hurt your grade if you don't. I learned a great deal in this class especially in her "labs" where you do in class group projects.
exams are multiple choice. quiz with the group member. a group project based on the serving the community. our group chose the raft. working for 15 hours to present what we did in those hours. very fun in the classroom. a lot of fun activities. learn what is the leader and manager. what is vision. those of leader skills you might need in daily life
Shes nice and yes her tests are multiple choice but there not based on the usual definitions. there like "maria has high expectations of her subordinates.. which management theory is she" except way more tricky. theres also weekly homework and in class assignments. You have to break up in groups n ROLE PLAY. on a thursday nite ur jus not in the mood
Very nice teacher.
She is an amazing teacher!!!! The class is not hard and she gives a good study guide so you know what will be on the exams. The only thing I don't like is that your grade is on a weighted average! So if you get a low grade in one area, it's really hard to get an A. Bummed out about that.
Bus 160-- easy material and easy class, teacher is energetic. however, you have classwork so you can't miss more than a couple classes if you want an A. Doesn't really let you out early, and have to do a community service project or research paper. I would recommend this teacher.
Attend class everyday because she has labs and pop quizzes that is easy! You usually do it with your group members. Study from the book and her powerpoint and you'll be fine. Easy A in my opinion if you do the work. She drops the lowest quiz, two labs, and one quiz.
TAKE HER! Class is mandatory because you have activities which includes points, but I swear to you her class is so much fun. She grades fairly, and majority of her students all recives A's. She is one of the NICEST person/professor you will ever meet.
She is an amazing teacher. Yes, she does have in class quizzes and labs randomly. I frequently missed class however and still got an A. I really enjoyed the sessions I went to. She gives very clear, fair study guides for the midterms and final, and if you review the powerpoints and study with moderate effort you'd get at least 94% on the exams.
A great person and Professor. very helpful. Great in class discussion moderator. Attainable A if you do your home work and suck up to your group members (a good chunk of the grade is based on their evaluations)
Prof. Wells is amazingly positive and supportive teacher. Classes are in the form of open discussions and practical examples. No boring theory at all. Truly recommend her class!
Extremely helpful and knowledgable teacher. Enjoyed her class all semester long! Wish she teaches more MBA courses.
Not easy as other people say. She is very nice. She is a good friend, but not a good professor. She can't control the atmosphere in the class, people talks so loudly and someone even can talk with cell phone in class and she doesn't care. The project waste a lot of time, it required 10 hours volunteering the community, waste of time. Avoid her!
She is SUPER! She really takes care of her students concerns. She is the very very nice ! Take her class, you won't be disappointed.
The reading was confusing, but he lectures made the material clear. She is nice, funny, and extremely lenient. As long as you do the work the class is easy.
Great teacher. Took this class during winter session. Fairly hard topic for only 11 days of class. She made the 3 1/2 hours go by quick. Very reasonable and easy to talk to. If you show up, participate, do the readings and homework, you will pass with a good grade. If you earn below a B-, you are a moron.
Professor Wells is an awesome teacher. She explains things really well and helps you relate the topics to your everyday life. Yes, 10 hours of community service is required for a project, but this is done with a group that you meet with every week during class to do classwork with, so they quickly become friends rather than classmates.
Professor Wells is a really nice person. She is very knowledgeable about all aspects of organizational behavior. Her exams require studying to do well. Study the "Goals" on blackboard and you will be prepared ahead of time. Lecture clarifies the reading so I highly suggest attending. Group project was fun. Don't procrastinate on it.
Prof Wells is one of the best teacher i had so far in SJSU. She teaches her class with interesting methods. However, i think she is going to stop teaching after this semester (spring 2010) but She is still my fav. Best Wishes & Good Luck!
She always try to make class interesting and fun. However, her group project can be very time consuming so if your schedule is very hectic you may not want to take her. Have a few pop quizzes here and here and a lot of group work. Class/test/group project isn't easy or hard; somewhat do-able. I recommend her!
Very nice lady, extreamly helpful and outgoing. No reason to get anything under a B in this class. Tons of work, but all 160 classes are. Tests are mult choice and not tricky at all. Study, participate and you will get an A. I outside volunt group project (8 hours a person). Then class prent on that group project. Have fun. Thanks Ms. Wells
This gotta be the in the worst teacher list at SJSU. Her test are 7-8 chapters, NO notes, NO open book, all memorized. Somehow I do not see how learning psychology is part of a Business Major. This class to me is totally useless and make no sense at all. Make sure you can memorize all 8 chapters for test if you intent taking this teacher. 1/5rating
Ms. Wells is a great teacher. She's ecstatic! I love that in a teacher, because it makes the class interesting. The midterms are not 8 Chapters long, its 6 chapters. It is not that bad because some of the chapters are really short but just like any class, you do need to study.
Hands down my favorite professor at SJSU! She is very understanding/reasonable and cares about her students! There are small labs and hw assignments every week but it's simply easy. As long as you try you will get full credit. One group project which was fun and easy, two midterms (lowest one is weighted only 5%) and a final. She gives you a study guide. There's no reason why you shouldn't pass this class! I would recommend this professor. Easy A if you ask me
Excellent professor. Really does care about students and the subject. Very entertaining class and the 3 hours always went by quick. Just do the hw and the typical studying and you'll do fine. Take this class
Fantastic professor always energetic and upbeat. Class is really easy going with a relaxed environment. Getting a good group made the 3 hours go by fast because they quickly become friends rather than just group members. Tests, quizzes, and hw are all straightforward no surprises.
definitely a good pick for bus160. she is kind and has a great sense of humor. quizzes and labs every class meeting, but she typically offers group quizzes and the labs are activities in class. plus, she drops the two lowest grades for labs and quizzes. exams were so-so. Go to class, look at the ppt slides and study guides and you'll be fine.
what a great professor. Her lectures are interesting and she makes the class fun. There should be more professor like her or she should teach more business courses.
I've never met such as compassionate and passionate professor like Wells. I loved her class and she's such a great character! She definitely cares about her students so if you have any questions/concerns, do speak to her. Highly recommend to take her!
Highly recommended prof! Lectures & exams are straightforward. Keys to an A are attending class, carefully reading book, reviewing slides, and participating. She livens up the classes w/her sunny personality. Be sure to choose your team wisely, as the rest of the semester's group work will be with them.
Ms Wells is awesome and easy going! Makes long evening classes really fun and gets everyone involved! Easy Assignments. Come to class, do the small assignments, and participate! Highly recommend taking her!
No one mentioned how her exams go, so it's like this. She will lecture fast in class so take notes, her exams are 90% conceptual examples from notes, then the rest is 10% vocab definitions. Take her. Easy class. Quiz are from reading the textbook chapters.
Mrs. Wells is one of the best teachers I have ever had. The class is very informative and tests are based on subject matter. Classes are very interactive and she always replies to my emails. I wish all my professors had her style. You can tell she cares about her students and she enjoys her profession.
Good teacher. Mostly group work. Do your hw, go to labs, study. It was easy, but I'm not a conceptual guy which is why i don't do well on her midterms and got a B.
Smart, funny and knows her stuff. Must participate in class , it's fun and time goes by quickly. study, do the work, participate and you will do well in the class. She is reasonable and fair. Love her! She is the best professor at SJSU!
great professor. choose your group wisey. between your groups work on the study guides to get a good grade. I could go gotten an A- but i missed 2 points =[
Attend class, do your homework. Don't waste your money on the textbook unless you're someone who wants to dig deep into this subject. Study the slideshows and you will do well on your exams. Fun class, easy A.
Prof. Wells changed things up during the semester and the class became much more involved. There are long lectures but very fun group projects each class. The material is more abstract so be prepared to think critically and participate.
community service project and one group presentation. give extra credit! expect a pop-up quiz.. make sure to read TB Tests are all multiple choice. pay attention in class, should be okay.
Professor Wells makes class very interesting and interactive. There are 3 Midterms, and 1 final as well as a group project. For the midterms you need to make sure you study her study guide and you will be fine. There is an opportunity for extra credit. There are always activities for each class, and she may have a pop quiz here and there.
Go to office hours with questions it really helps a lot. A volunteering type group project wasn't too hard but take time and write a good paper. Pop quizzes are annoying but that is how she tracks attendance. Not a bad class if you study you will do well.
She seems nice but she's not an easy grader. She writes her tests now, and sometimes there are questions don't relate to the study guide at all. She makes the class harder than it should be. Other than that, she's very enthusiastic.
I took her class Spring 2015. Professor Wells lectures were clear and her teaching style was very interactive with the class. If you showed up, paid attention, and kind of got an idea of the book, tests were cake. You will have a group project about group dynamics that is well worth the exercise. I highly recommend Professor Wells!
The only hard part about her class is the 10 community service hours you will need to complete. Tests are super easy if you go to class and take notes, completely based on her notes, not the ppt or the book. 3 exams should take 2 hours to study for max. Group final worth 5%. Book is useless, but must buy to do the assigned HW. Her class is relax
No pop quiz, only 3 exams and 1 group project and a bunch of "lab" which are basically attendance. Get in a group and buy the book just to do her HW. Exams are easy straight out of lecture notes, she gives study guide questions but it's basically her note. Group project is 10 hrs community service so be aware. Otherwise, good class!
First of all, extremely easy class. I would just take her because it's really an easy A. There is a group project and presentation but it's not too difficult at all. Her exams are still easy as long as you know what she is talking about during the class. I never seen anyone saying her class, exams, or project was hard.
Easy class. Attendance isn't necessarily mandatory. This course does require 10 hours of community service for a group project. She does provide study guides & her midterms are easy as long as you study. Some info is common sense. Highly recommend!
Professor Wells is AWESOME. Take her class. She offers study guide. As long as you study, you will get an A.
Every single class was filled with energy and laughter from her lectures. A very easy and fun class to take with her. Tests were easy as long as you followed with lecture and reviewed and not much hw. Group project with 10 hours of community service but was well worth it and had a lot of fun with my group (not as bad as you may think).
Her 160 class is not very easy. Grades are weighted, so it's all or nothing whether or not you do well on exams. She tested us on everything not on the study guide. She had to have another professor teach the chapters for the second exam; substitute teacher wasn't very helpful. Do not take her for 160. She will mess up your grade like crazy.
Super easy class! One easy group project where you have to do community service hours. She's really funny too and easy to approach even though the class was large. She's always willing to help and there were some extra credit opportunities. Also her tests are super easy as long as you study and understand the concepts
Surprisingly, I passed the class with a B despite how difficult the exams were. However, the community service project helps a lot with your grade and is super fun while applying the concepts to the project. There were some times when she gave extra credit to certain people which was unfair though. I recommend her if you want an easy B at minimum.
Make sure you go to class because she lectures on things not on the powerpoints. Exams are pretty easy as long as you understand the concepts. There is a group project and presentation but it was pretty fun overall! There isn't any homework and no textbook is needed (although recommended if you really want to understand the concepts in depth).
Amazing professor. 3 exams, 1 final, 1 group project, a few papers. Overall knew what she was talking about. Can be a little scattered at times, but she was so kind and helpful to all her students. Would definitely take again.
Professor Wells really cares for her students, but don't attempt to take advantage of that. Extra credit options were given in all tests. She is very flexible & will do her best to accommodate students with valid excuses.
She is super strict when it comes to paper guidelines and grading a paper. Make sure to attend every lecture because she randomly give labs in her lecture without any notice. - Class is a lot of theory, I would say philosophy. - Exams including midterms are challenging. - if you have better option available take it otherwise she is just OK kinda
Makes her lectures fun, the class itself is easy. BUT, she is such a harsh grader!! The exams are difficult but passable. The group project was headache due to COVID. You do a lot of group work outside of class.. She grades the essay based off of your english skills and format. Not very clear on instructions for projects. Not an easy A.
Her tests are extremely hard. Do not take her, it is not as easy as everyone saying here.
Her lectures are very interesting and don't make you fall asleep. She wants you to read the book. If you pay attention during the lectures and take notes, it's enough for you to be in good shape to get an A
This professor is a mess. She does not know what she is doing. She did not organize and remind the student about what they have to do. The project is confusing and the exam is super hard. I had no idea what I was doing in this class. Everybody got confused about her instruction. She was trying to be nice but beware, she is not an easy grader.
Professor Wells is really good at teaching, she also is considerate and will go out of her way to help students. Tests are hard but she is more likely to curve.
Don't understand why some reviews state Prof. Wells as horrible...I took her fall sem 2020 and it was really easy and straightforward. Despite it being a 2 hour course, if you have friends in the class you'll do fine. Just buy the e-text. Also make sure you communicate well with your project group, the presentation is technically your final
Great professor, lectures very well. We had group assignments basically every class and you'd need to be present. Her exams are one thing that bothers me because some of the questions were more opinion-based but she would mark them wrong because it's not parallel to hers. Group project personally was a waste of time but it's easy to do.
She is very organized and very well at teaching the material. She is very helpful. She is a tough grader on assignments. Her exams are ridiculously hard, especially the final exam. Some exam questions are practically impossible to answer unless if you do lots of self-studying. This class is all about connecting things, not just memorization.
One group project that is actually quite fun throughout the semester. The exams are open note but that doesn't mean they are easy. They are quite challenging so make sure your study guide is full of notes. Go to class every time and participate and you'll get an A with a really nice professor.
Professor Wells is the sweetest! She facilitates a positive class atmosphere and everyone is welcome to share their ideas and thoughts during class discussions. Reading the textbook is a must for getting an A on the exams. To help make your studying more efficient, she provides a study guide that mirrors all the topics covered. Exams are tricky.
Pretty easy class. You have one big group project at the end of the semester and it's giving a presentation to kids about business etc.. so it is pretty easy. The class was only once a week so a 3-hour lecture is never fun but Professor Wells makes it pretty interesting. Exams are a bit difficult so make sure you take notes during lectures.
Pamela Wells was fun but my group was not nearly as good. All the tests were open book but that was bc she made a typo on her syllabus. I heard her tests are harder now. Memorize the DISC profiles! All her tests refer back to them. Has an off-site presentation project at a local school but its chill. Tough test grader but generous on other stuff.
I really loved and enjoyed having Wells as a Professor. She puts in effort into her lectures to be interesting and relatable. She clearly cares about her students by the way she approaches questions being asked by being clear and descriptive. Prepare for a lot of group work though!
Professor Wells is very caring and articulate in her lectures. Her lectures are clear, concise, and very interesting. Her class relies heavily on group assignments and a semester-long project, but they're simple and easy to complete. Her midterms and final are difficult, but she allows a 4x6 notecard for each test.
I love her lectures and she keeps us engaged with multiple activities. In terms of assignments, it was fairly easy but her tests are a bit tricky because she gives out answers that are very similar to others. Fortunately, she allows a small cheat sheet when taking the test. Biggest thing in this class is the group project and the 4 tests
Wells was an amazing professor and would highly encourage you to take her. She's very concise and explains all the concepts very well that relate to the real world. Put the effort in and you'll get the grade you want. She gives a 4x6 notecard for exams. There are 3 midterms, 1 final, 1 big group assignment, and smaller assignments.
Required attendance as it's a once-a-week class. Team assignments and lectures in class. She goes fast during lectures so pay attention to what she's saying and take notes. 30% Group project, 10% exam 1, 10% exam 2, and 10% exam 3. 15 % final. Tests are difficult so take good notes you will be fine. She's a good professor if you take good notes.
Wells is passionate, but she lacks establishing clear grading criteria for her students. The group project and exams were okay, but her grading was unfair. We were told that this week was the last to submit 2 of our blogs. Yet, she gave us a 0 for our blogs being unsubmitted and after emailing her, she said she was no longer taking semester work.
Professor Wells is very passionate and engaging. Go to class and take notes, and I promise you'll do just fine. Exams can be a little tricky, but if you take advantage of your resources you'll do just fine. This was a fun course.
Take this professor for easy A, but still expect to apply yourself. Allows for a 4X6 notecard for exams and will drop questions to help boost class average. There is a semester long group project that is weighted more than exams. Project is fun and worth it. Rest of assignments are in-class, done with assigned group, and vary from 1-2 points.
Lectures are boring and seem like common sense, but her exams are hard. 3 midterms 1 final, so much material that's covered that her 4x6 index card cheat sheet won't help much.
This professor has extremely long and boring lectures. If you take the 3-hour class she will always go till the very end. Attendance is mandatory because there is always classwork. Her exams are super hard and will use wording that tricks you - not straightforward. Again, exams are painfully hard.
Expect hard exam questions (one exam per month), lectures are boring and irrelevant to the exams. Not a good professor to take if you want to learn stuff from the lecture. Please do not choose her as your professor.
She is very nice, replies to emails quick. class lectures are SO boring. 3 midterms, 1 final all multiple choice but very confusing wording. tests are all memorization and application-based. get a good team for semester-long project b/c a lot of grade is based off that
This class was a TERRIBLE waste of time. The grading criteria are EXTREMELY unclear, making it IMPOSSIBLE to understand how to get a good grade. Despite hard work, you must constantly FLATTER the professor and excessively participate. If you want CLEAR expectations and FAIR grading, AVOID this course at ALL costs! I got an A, others did not....
So sweet! Genuinely interesting material. She also tries to engage students with in-person assignments and different methods of learning. There's a semester long group project, doesn't take up much time. If you get bad group members, communicate with her, she helps you out. View short lectures outside of class, but they're not bad.
Pamela Wells's class could be straightforward, but her attitude makes it challenging. She struggles with clear communication, has inconsistent grading, and often comes across as dismissive. Her need for validation and condescending tone create an uncomfortable environment, making learning harder than it should be.
