Easy Teacher. Very Helpful. Interesting Class
Easy course, but she likes the minority. Hope you are one of them, otherwise good luck. Dont buy the book, cause you dont need it, just agree with her and her views.

I took this class over the summer, and I learned more in 4 weeks than most of the other classes I've taken at COC that lasted a whole semester. She is very intelligent and really made a lasting impression. I would definitely recommend her.
very good teacher, highly recommend
good teacher. little work.
Great teacher I learned a lot. Just don't go against her apinion and you will be fine! We had 3 tests which were very easy and 2 essays which anyone could get an A on and the final speech that is very hard to do if you don't speaking in front of people.
best teacher I've ever had, Im thinking of changing my major because of her. The best expeirence ever!
I love this lady sooo much. I had such a great time in her class. She taught me to think outside the box and I will carry on with this way of thinking for the rest of my life. She ispires me to question authority and to do my best. Perfect score!
Her class was fun and interesting. I really enjoyed it.
She is by far the best professor I've had. She isn't concerned with grades, so she gives everyone a good grade as long as you do your work but she really cares about her students and wants them to LEARN. I've learned soo much in her class even though i had it for summer school.
I learned things I was unaware of. Professor W-P has great insight and is willing to allow her students to explore beyond the cirricullm. There is a great deal of reading, but it is worth it. This is one of those classes that is life changing. She is serious and humerous at once.
shes a REALLY GOOD teacher. i took this class in the summer. i was goin for an A but i missed one quiz and got a B in the class. all the assignments were good. just participate in discussions and study before quizzes. she likes people who ask lotsa questions!
I was unsure of her expectations for the class, seemed easy enough. Social problems is a good beginning sociology class, but I didn't really feel like I learned anything new (after having taken three sociology classes). Final project is interesting and can be very enjoyable; personable professor.
She is a good teacher but INCREDIBLY biased and totally shows favorites to her students. If you're not one of her favorites, be prepared to deal with her bashing all your views, but as long as you keep your mouth shut, you should be ok.
very hard, boring, has many favorites and makes it ovious, i know there going to pass even though they did worst then others, took her once and never again
She's not bias, unlike what was stated by some people previously. If your ****, or almost dumb-then she'll probably lay into you. Shes really a excellent teacher. She knows what she's talking about, I would recommend her for anyone.
Mrs Paez cares about her students her classes are extemeley easy and she is passionate about what she teaches. She is extremley liberal, but also a sure fire A or B take her for soc you will not regret it. You will not stress out at all.
Pretty freakin crazy....The white house is called that because it is meant for the white man...U gotta be kidding...She was easy but stated her opinions as fact& most of the times her opinions were BS.
expect to do a lot. Grade mainly based on class discussions.
kind of boring but not to hard, has her favorites especailly football playas. if your an athlete your in, no doubt, study, got a passing grade in her class
Williams-Paez was a great teacher for someone who was skeptical about Sociology as a subject. If you listen and do the light amount of work required for the class, you'll do very well. Big on class participation. Very Liberal and passionate... made the class more interesting and enjoyable. A+
wow, her class was weird. she barely lectured. it was really unclear about what she was grading us on. it almost seemed to easy to actually be a soci class. she seems to know her stuff-- but she didn't really want to share that info. im still not sure about her class, but i did get an A.
She is very nice and funny! her descussions are very interesting and fun! Loved the class. A little hard at first. Take good notes and you'll pass the class!
shes a feminist for sure. states her opinions very frequently. very easy! dont let her catch you talking during a seminar (which by the way, is a paper you write then present ih a circle) beacuse she will make a big deal out of it!
She is extremely bitter. If you are not a black football player don't take the class, if you are you can come in late and get an A. Some stuff she says is interesting even if she doesn't wash her hair.
i took her class over the summer because i heard she was a great teacher. when someone commented that she is "bitter" they hit it right on the nose. i had gotten strept throat, missed 2 days of class and she wouldn't make any exceptions for late work even with medical notes. she definately played "favorites" with the football players though.
Unclear. Took a favorite to me. Not quite sure on the criteria for her essays but I submitted a bad one and got an A. Takes a strong liberal opinion and portrays it as the right thing...
i took this class over summer and it was horrible, she played favorites and if you weren't one of them she would really pick apart what you had to say. she acted so bitter to be teaching a summer class, but come on, its not liek we wanted to be there either! don't be late, she will dock your grade, don't talk during class either.
Very nice teacher. Make sure too get on her goodside.
Very good teacher, likes all students
Ms. Paez is the best teacher that i ever had

she is very helpful. you will ace the tests if you pay attention in class and if you are always in class. Awesome teacher!
She's a great teacher...loves all her students..an easy A class for sure...just have to participate in discussions..VERY EASY!! i defintely learned a lot and she changed my perspective of the whole world!
very laid back. two assignments the whole semester. brings things into perspective. a lot of debates and group discussions. i don't agree that she favors anyone, but i know she draws attention to those her aren't courteous while others are speaking. final is 30 questions, very easy if you listen to lectures. over all, good/interesting class
Incredibly biased professor; be prepared to FIGHT for your grade if you don't agree with her and are outspoken about it. Shows videos and has no discussion about it; doesn't foster a diverse or open discussion environment; indoctrinating her students.
Really good teacher. Easy to understand, and explains material really well. Can be a lot of work sometimes, but you learn alot and it makes it more interesting.
This was the worst and most boring class I have ever taken. The teacher did not even teach, but left the teaching to the students by assigning "seminars." Then doesn't inform students what will be on the tests.
She's a great professor, ironically however, she cuts "bad" students some slack and the "good" students are on their own. So much for social equality.
An effortless class, but not at all a waste of time! You will learn a lot and enjoy the easy course work. 2 exams, a paper, and maybe 1 or 2 short articles to read per week. Great discussions, highly recommended.
interesting class, and easy. Only one short paper and two tests that are extremly short and easy. The professor is kind of odd but ok.
I am currently enrolled in her class. I think it takes a certain type of student to get her teaching style. Personally, I think she rocks!!!!
THIS PROF. IS EXTEMELY BIASED AND HORRIBLY ****. SHE IS INCREDIBLY INCOMPETENT AND UTTERLY UNREASONABLE. THE MATERIAL IS VERY EASY, SHE'S JUST A HORRIBLE HUMAN BEING.
so easy, just come to class and raise your hand like twice to anwer a question adn youll get an A. just to the 2 projects, not hard, and its a brezze, not stressful at all
A lot of the things that people are saying on this site do make sense. I think you have to be on the same playing field as this teacher. She gives a lot of credit to intelegance and if you want to debate this is the class. An easy A and no homework, just dont fall asleep in her class!
I love the fact that the person below mispelled "intelligence." How sad.
I guess you can say she's a nice person. She has honey dripping from her fangs...
awesome teacher! syllubus says you get an A if you have perfect attendence. I missed like 5-8 days of class and got a B. Mid term was easy, i got one question wrong. there are 2 assignments the whole semester. super easy. She's a hippy at heart it seems and says groovy and such words..i loved taking her classes- soc 101 and 200.
very easy. all you need to do is participate in the discussion and you will get an A. we only had one exam for the entire sem.
an extremely easy teacher. there were only 3 assignments. one seminar paper (3 pages), a midterm, and a final presentation (any topic-anotated bibliography). not a lot of work at all. the only work is dealing with students who don't want to be there and are ignorant. good class, but truthfully, i wished it was mandatory to read the book
Wonderful professor. Knows the subject very well, and has open discussions. I don't know why people think she plays favorites. I took her for three years and never saw any of that. If you are crazy conservative you probably won't like what she has to say or the subject for that matter so take a professor who doesn't care about Soci.
Probably one of the worst teachers I have ever had. She acts all cool and tries to get the students to like her and then every once in a while she will just freak out on someone for no reason. Doesn't do much teaching either. Everyday is a class discussion amongst the students while she sits at her desk and pretends to be teaching. Awful. Dont do
This teacher seems nice but when I talked with her after class one day she was really mean to me. Her class is really easy but I don’t really like her as a person. I also think her lectures are confusing and unorganized. But I highly recommend this class if you want an easy A.
typical liberal teacher. shes the leader of some lefty group at school, radical feminist and socialist at that.. ugh AVOID this class
She is a fantastic teacher. I never agreed with her views, but as long as you have intelligent feedback she respects your opinions. Overall, great teacher. really challenged my ability to view things from a different perspective.
Her class was easy and fun. You bascially sit around and disscuss life from different angles. Good Teacher makes you think!
so far, so good. makes you think analytically about things you dont usually give much thought too. if you dont like to pick your brain and dig deep on social issues then dont take this class. i love that kind of thing. i could easily teach this class.
shes an outstanding individual and a great proffesor. makes the class interesting. you literally have to try to fail her class. she gives every student every chance possible to pass her class she does all she can to help you. very understanding and caring. shes awsome. highly recomended =)
Easiest class I have ever taken. EASY AAAAAAAAAAAAA
Show up, do your seminar paper and final project, and spend 15 minutes studying for your midterm and final, and you'll get an A. Downside of the class? Williams-Paez is a horrible teacher. Once you see past her fake smile, you'll notice how rude she is to her students. If you don't agree with her, be quiet or prepared to get treated like an idiot.
Total left wing liberal freak. Likes to make you look dumb if you dont agree with her by asking you some rhetorical question that is full of big words. Take if you can keep your mouth shut all class during seminar cuz its easy a, otherwise dont take if ur guna argue wit her, no pint.
She kept you interested in each subject, and made the topics very real and applicable to your life.
This is one of those teachers that you have to agree with even if you don't agree. She favors sports players and minorities, thats just the way she is. STRICT attendance and tardy policy. You will learn a lot. There isn't much work. The project at the end is fun. Agree with her wacky, distorted point of view.
i dont see how anyone can hate her. i thought she was so cool and funny! she is very open minded and needs to go on like Mad TV or Saturday Night Live because she is so funny! She made me laugh a lot in class!
I had her for summer. Everyday we would put the chairs in a circle and do "seminars," she pretty much just moderates them. A 3 hour class with her... BORING! She has a really strict attendance and cell phone policy. I got a B, but I just felt like it was a waste of time. Oh. And don't even bother buying the book.
She's a total hippie, but her class is extremely interesting. The class is mostly based on discussion, so if you're someone who always has something to say, I suggest you take this course. She does seem one sided, though. If you don't agree with her, she'll make you look stupid. So agree and get an A. I love this teacher. I'm a sociology major now.
She doesnt really teach. She was terrible. She has very one sided views and will let you know all about them. And if you dont agree, watch out. She will make your life very difficult and make you look stupid, and twist your words to no end.She was also constantly changing the syllabus. I Hated the class, and im a Sociology major!!
PAEZ is cool , she is strict about cell but that is cool b/c no one wants to heat ur cell>>>> plus she is cool and totally chill.... U guys are over reacting , she tells you like it is. She's not going to suggggggar coat it 4 U! Over all I would take her again , PAEZ makes you OPEn UR minD and not be IGNORANT .. KEEP IT UP PAEZ NICE J O B
She is the easiest teacher i've ever taken. Just show up, write 2 essays (make them liberal, of course) and show up for the midterm & final. The midterm & final were SOO easy & exactly the same as eachother. Easy A!
Her class was one of the easiest classes I have ever taken. To those people who think she is unbiased: You're either really stupid or the football players who never showed up and still managed an A. When you make a good point to her, she'll tell you to cite your source, but I never saw one single citation for any of her "facts". She's a hypocrite.
Her online women's sociology class is easy as far as content goes. Her quizzes are open book and discussion boards are easy. So long as you do the work, you'll get an A.
Paez is a pretty good teacher, sometimes she can go way off topic and the class gets extremely boring. If you have a view that is opposite to hers, she will keep trying to convince you until she basically gets her way and she sounds right. So if you have conservative views, then just pretend to be liberal. Other than that easy class, just read.
Paez sucked! she is so bias and only likes you if your ugly or a lesbian. Seriously pretend to be gay you'll get an A. She likes to complain alot about how bad our world is. If you can stand her voice and her lectures...its an easy A
I've taken a couple sociology classes before and didn't understand a thing. This class has taught me to realize how life is structured around social and cultural expectations or "norms." I'm a Business major and learned a lot by taking this class... I Highly recommend you take this course!!!
super easy class, great teacher
Paez was a cool person; very passionate about people and how they interact in society. The class was easy. However... all you do in class is sit and talk about sociological garbage (only it's mostly her talking). Classtime was mostly spent pontificating about politics and/or irrelevant issues to an intro class. The midterm/final were cake. Ehhhh.
a bit strict, but she has a lot to say if you can follow her train of thought (it's all over the place sometimes). boring at times, but if you like sociology, the subject matter will keep you interested.
The class is structured how our world should be, in a democratic manner where participation is a must that coincidentally enriches the overall experience for everyone in the class. Its one of the best classes i've ever taken for the simple fact that the discussions are STUDENT ORIENTED, hence if boneheads overun the class it might be dull.
Id have to say. this class was extremely easy. 1 paper and 1 test. LOL the syllabus said that we'd have tests and such and we also had daily reading assignments but no one ever did them. she got lazy so we just watched videos all semester long. Also, the final was: "What is sociology? write in one page or less" does it get any greater than that? :)
She is by far one of the worst teachers I have ever had the misfortune of taking. As prevously said in other statements unless you are African American or Mexican, you are the target. As a caucasian I felt the class to be absolutely miserable and felt like a bad person because of how she portrayed white people. Terrible class.
I took her accidentally for a field studies class.. where you have to go camping. it wasnt as bad as i thought. she is really nice, if you participate and just smile and never argue she will love you. wrote one paper and no tests! shes easy to work with! take her!
Her class structure is pretty loose--mostly discussion based. Attendance is more mandatory then it seems. She's a really cool, nice, funny lady; but she does seem rather subjective on her grading. I got A's on all but 2 assignments, and was at class 95% of the time--but got a B. Good, but not great teacher.
Totally awesome teacher. If you're not a complete idiot, can cite legitimate sources when talking and presenting, and can recognize the injustices in our world without crying about it getting your feelings hurt, this will be an awesome class/teacher. She's extremely intelligent and I wish I could learn more. No HW, tests are easy, and that's it.
I took this as a five week summer class. It was mostly discussion of readings and movies watched in class. Attendance and participation was very important. There was a very short essay every week on something we discussed. I would recommend this class.
Took this class in an 8 week summer session. Really enjoyed it. Had daily discussions on the readings and what's going on in the news. She is very easy going but let's you know her political feelings. Participate in the discussions and show up...with 1 final presentation on a social topic of your choice. Pretty easy!
Even though I got 4s on the reading tests and participated in class, I managed to get a C and the person next to me got a B for doing absolutely nothing. Yeah...
she makes you not want to ask questions, she has that whole I'm right, your wrong attitude. Makes you feel stupid, doesn't listen. even though it's an easy class she has an annoying attitude.
By far the most openly liberal teacher I've ever had. If you don't agree with her and speak up for what you believe in she'll twist your words and make you feel stupid. She preaches having an open mind but only for what she believes in. Worst class I've ever taken. If you take her and are conservative at all prepare to be offended and indoctrinated
Can be considered an 'easy' class. We had a six page essay on a book we never even discussed. She doesn't really teach, you could have an argument with another student and know NOTHING about whats in the textbook. She doesn't listen to you, and tries to win over the class with a fake smile and no final. Unless you can fake your thoughts, don't take
Great Teacher. Very much enjoyed her class. Very nice & always helpful.2 tests, 1 midterm & 1 final, not hard, as long as you do your readings. I'd take her again :)
SUCKY TEACHER! BARELY TAUGHT ABOUT THE TEXT, SHE IS TOO BUSY TALKING ABOUT HER OPINIONS, AND SHE IS ALWAYS 'RIGHT'.
She was a very easy teacher... to say the least. we had a midterm and a final (final was exactly the same as the midterm). there were two other projects we had to do.... you really had to put an effort into getting anything other than an A in those two assignments. She didn't read them, just skimmed through and marked as an A.
Great if you don't like to talk or make your own statements. Remember that she is always right. Don't bother with the book. She is a joke of a teacher. Nice lady but off in her own world. She goes in circles and will abruptly change the topic if she doesnt like where people are going. Do not waste your time and energy in this class
Not the greatest.. she doesn't really teach you anything. A lot of the time she gets lost in what she wants to say because questions get her off topic. Someone will ask a question and she will spend the entire class period answering it rather than teaching the lesson. Didn't learn anything and its rather boring. Easy pass.
Wouldn't recommend if you are interested in learning the subject. The first half of the semester consists of students leading seminars then the second half is student presentations. No lectures really.Grades fairly but is unclear about whats on midterm and final. o its hard to study. Best anyone got on midterm was a C.She is an amazing person though
She is a great individual who genuinely cares for each student. Although her teaching methods are not conventional, I did in fact learn a lot in her class and took her for two other sociology classes. I find her to be very inspirational and I do enjoy going to her class.
RUDE teacher. teachers are supposed to be supportive, willing to help and listen. She refuses to listen if she does not agree with you. A student should not be afraid to listen or give their opinion with out being embarrassed by a teacher's reaction because she does not agree. Besides that, it is an okay class if you don't care about learning
Very sweet woman, but if you like a structured environment, her class is not for you. She makes you think in unexpected ways. It is not a traditional learning environment, though I feel I took a lot from her class. I would recommend her!
I was surprised to see so many negative comments. She is awesome. Easy class...IF you show up, participate, and are not rude, like using your cell phone. She hates that. She teaches by making you think. She DOES allow you to use express opinions in her class (she encourages that), she only doesn't when you are arguing against a researched topic.
I really enjoyed this class. Yes, she is a little out there sometimes, but she is very passionate about Sociology and loves her students. There are only a few assignments in this class and a super easy project at the end of the semester. If you put effort into your work, you will get an A. Participate and be proactive in the class. I recommend her!
Very nice and funny ! Easy class not much work involved except for 2 presentations including a seminar paper. Not really what I expected for that class but overall it was an easy class.
Very nice and funny ! Easy class not much work involved except for 2 presentations including a seminar paper. Not really what I expected for that class but overall it was an easy class. Would recommend!
She has the students lead most of the classes. She only guides students in the right direction, which some people criticize but I loved. If you pay attention you can learn a lot from this class. Show up, do your two assignments, be respectful, and participate in discussions. That's it, you earned yourself an A.
Insightful, and funny teacher. Learned a lot. Great class, only complaint is that I attended every single day, turned in every assignment to my best ability, read the texts, got an A on my seminar and on the final and still ended up with a C in the class. Maybe do not take if concerned with GPA because of her grading scale.
Only 3 assignments which she does a lousy job of explaining, a midterm and final which she does not go over at all. It's mostly student lead but she takes over a lot and barely covers the actual material. She makes you feel stupid. After 2 absences you lose 5% for every absence, tardy counts as an absence. Easy A but boring and a waste of time.
I enjoyed the class. I can see how some people may not have liked her. I enjoyed how our class material was always different but the few assignments we did have were ambiguous. Overall id recommend her for anyone looking for a fun class
GREAT TEACHER! She is the most sweet and helpful professor ever. Class involves participation, some essays, but overall fun class. Not too much homework. Take her!
Great teacher. The kids who give bad feedbacks are the kids who never show up to class. She is the best teacher. There only like 3 essay assignments and she grades super easy on them. Just go to class, participate, and do the essays and you will get an A.
She is a great professor. A little bit intimidating, but she is funny and teaches you a lot. She says it like it is and that's the best way you learn in a sociology class. She gets you to really think about the topics. Not a lot of work, all you need to do is show up and listen and participate. A common sense class.
She's a good person but not the greatest professor. She doesn't follow her syllabus and she will randomly assign you essays with not the best explanation of what she wants for them. She does penalize 5% of your grade after 2 absences. Very repetitive lectures and very opinionated.
I took Paez for Sociology 230 and really enjoyed her lectures, the seminars were the best! Would take again.
Honestly such an easy class. There are only like 3 main assignments in her class and she grades soooo easy! At first it seems intimidating but its honestly a piece of cake. AND SHE MAKES THE CLASS WATCH ORANGE IS THE NEW BLACK.
Such a great teacher that wants to see everyone succeed
Great professor, I looked forward towards her lectures and always has a smile on her face. 2 essays and a presentation, easy A.
Easy class, she is liberal instead of being neutral if you voice your opinion and if she does not agree with it she will try to make it seem like you are wrong and she is right. I would not take any of her classes again in the future.
Hands down one of the best professors on campus! If you need to boost your grade and don't want to take a boring but easy class take any of hers! Every class is unique and you learn so much just from listening to her. She does seminars and her final in my class was to give feedback. Pretty easy!! and there's no textbook!
Paez is such an amazing teacher. I am now in my second class with her. I love her classes. There are basically 3 assignments in the class and if you do those and show up to class you will receive an A+. She is so sweet and I would recommend her to anyone. TAKE HER CLASSES, YOU WONT REGRET IT!!!
Paez, if you can get in her courses, will not disappoint you. She tells it how it is in the best of ways. She is there to shed some light on the realities of this world in a way that impacts your life and the lives of others around you for the better. As long as you keep an open mind and are actively engaged, you will most likely pass with an A.
Paez is a chill teacher. She assigns a Roots Paper, an Annotated Bibliography, and a Seminar Paper and that's it. So long as you turned something in, you'll get 100%. She hardly ever lectures, it's usually just students presenting. Sometimes she would even bring in food. If you're looking for meaningful discussions and an easy class, take Paez.
shes inspiring!!! she really cares about her students. you only have three assignments reallly- an annotated bibliography, a final presentation, seminar paper, and a final essay //and shes such an easy grader!!! she's hilarious and super easy. after your seminar paper, you can KINDA stop showing up to class like miss a few days and you'll be fine.
Her class is so easy! Shes so caring, we didnt do much in the class other than a seminar & a final presentation & that was it. Her class was basically spoken by us when everyone did their seminars. Her 2 papers are really easy & u can easily pass with an A!
Amazing professor. She truly cares about her students. Her discussions are super interesting as well. Take her
Best professor I've taken yet at COC. I took her online 5 week class for sociology and it was great! She's always available through email or office hours if you have questions. No textbook required, all the readings were through online articles she gives you the link of. Take her if you can!
To be honest, I was really scared to take this class because my counselor told me that it was a very difficult course LOL. It was SO EASY! We had 2 essay exams, 1 seminar paper, 1 bibliography paper, and a 15 min presentation. Not that bad right!? :)
VERY EASY class to take online. Online classes are supposed to be "harder" but this professor makes this class a smooth ride. As long as you do the homework, you will pass. Chapters are not long and very interesting. It's easy to read and remember. This professor actually cares about his students!
She's honestly the best teacher out there. I am so glad I took her! Her grading is pretty easy as well. Shes a very understanding and wonderful teacher.
Very easy class. Took for summer semester. She does not accept any late work, but all of the work is easy. She had everything preplanned and laid out in the syllabus as a daily schedule including what was due each week. She was very specific on Canvas as to what she expected for each assignment and she was more than helpful when I had any ques
I took her short term class for fall and it was so simple! Three discussion boards a week, one seminar paper and a few quizzes that are one question each. They're essay questions, but if you did the reading they're so easy to answer. Overall great class
Out of all of the professors I've ever had, she is the kindest, most genuine, and caring professor I have ever had. I've never met anyone who teaches with such joy and enthusiasm. Or a teacher who cares half as much as she does about her students. If you need anything from her, she's got you. I Would absolutely take her again.
Throughout the entire online course was a wonderful learning experience, I gained so much and she is just a sweet and caring person overall. She makes learning enjoyable and provides her students many resources to read that do not cost a penny! You will not regret having chosen her!
This class was very interesting to take and Professor Williams-Paez made sociology so interesting and at the same time informative. There isn't a textbook required for this course since Professor Williams-Paez provides you with the reading materials. She will teach you how to think like a sociologist and it honestly help with understanding others.
Amazing professor. Extremely clear in what he expects from you. Gives you everything you need to succeed just makes sure you keep track of the due dates and submit your assignments on time.
I enjoyed taking this class for summer session, she provided the reading materials, there was about 3 module posts a week, and a written quiz a week which I promise is not hard, she as well is an easy grader, just do your work and fitful the requirements&u will pass I am not a "dedicated" student nor a lazy one and I got an A. Well organized!
She is hands down one of the best sociology professor. Very clear with what she expects from you. Do the work she assigns each week and you will be solid in this class. Highly recommend her.
Professor Williams-Paez is an honest sweetheart. She is very understanding of her students and you will definitely take something from her class to use in the real world. I took a test and my computer froze and randomly shut down meaning my progress wasnt saved, but when I emailed her about it she was beyond caring rather than being mean about it!
Easiest class I have ever taken. participate in discussions and do well on your research assignment and you will actually receive a 100%.
I didnt really know what to expect from this class, but prof made it very interesting. Discussions every week were very easy, just read the articles and you will pass. Only one essay in the course and as long as you tried you should get an A!
Amazing professor to have online. Very straight forward with due dates and content she expects. I took SOCI 202 with her as well and had the same good experience. She responds to emails fairly quickly and is welcome to untraditional ideas.
I absolutely loved Professor Williams-Paez! I took her 5 week online class and it was really inspirational. One thing that I loved was that we didn't need a textbook because she would find her own articles for us to read. She's an easy grader if you meet the word counts for each assignment. If you need to take sociology I highly recommend her!
I took SOCI 101 8 week online course and it was super easy and manageable. You two discussions and a quiz per week and one term paper to do. Professor Williams-Paez replied to all my emails super quick and was very helpful! She was also a super easy grader, I got 100% on all her assignments and quizzes.
Really easy grader. Shes really nice. Theres some paper due. The due date was based off of last name. No textbook. A few discussion boards a week and a quiz. No final. I highly recommend!!
Great professor and very willing to help. I took the short term online class and was pleasantly surprised. One research paper and a few quizzes with questions from the reading. Would take again!
William-Paez genuinely cares about students. She grades very liberally, but will dock 5 percent off your final grade every time for being late after you are late twice. She also can talk down to the class, and can be dismissive/doesn't really respond to counter arguments. And for context, I agree with her politically.
Im currently taking her online class and its simply amazing! Very straight forward, as long as you do the assignments youll get an A! She wants everyone to succeed and is super caring and answers emails quick! Theres one paper due, one weekly quiz, and about 2-5 discussion boards a week that are super simple and straightforward! Take her class!
I took this class my first year of college and it was honestly the most easiest class I ever taken. All you have to do is make sure you do the work ON TIME. It is very important you do it on time and actually know what you a reading so when you take the quizzes the go smoothly. The reasons are also easy and interesting! And see offer extra credit !
I loved Prof. Paez and will take her other classes in the future. She really cares about her students and wants you to succeed. The material she chooses is interesting and she fosters great conversations the class partakes in. Discussion oriented both online and in person. Two main projects, an essay and presentation and the rest was participation.
Professor Williams-Paez is one of the best teachers I had during Quarantine. She is really understanding and will help you pass her class and get a good grade. Very accessible out of class and helpful. Very kind and humane teacher. Would take her course again. HW and quizzes are easy!
I took her for Sociology 101 and Sociology 200, best down the BEST professor I have ever had. She is amazing and cares about her students passing. She responds very quickly and wants everyone to succeed. If I can take her for any class I would. assignments very easy and she is very passionate about sociology. If you take sociology TAKE HER !!!
I took her for SOC200 it was an easy course in terms of work. Of course you still have to read a lot of articles but they were very interesting. Class was mostly discussions and quizzes are short response based off the class readings. Also she is so kind and she motivates her students my saying things like "you got this" on the announcements.
Prof. Williams-Paez is a very understanding and humane professor. Answers emails very quickly. Very easy class to take and you actually learn a lot just doing the bare minimum. There are weekly tests and about three DB posts a week. Very easy final and project. Would absolutely take again.
My favorite Professor! She is clear in instructions, accessible outside of class hours, and gives great and honest feedback. I really do hope I take a class of hers again. She has truly made me love Sociology.
This course was extremely easy as long as you do all the assignments on time and throughly. I got full credit on all the assignments and exams with minimal effort. As long you do the assignments the exam is easy because its very similar questions from the discussion boards. Offers extra credit, and responds quickly to emails. Highly recommend!!!
Very caring and understanding teacher! She made it easy to transition into online learning, and she was also very helpful in the manner that she responded every emailed question with precise answers. I would definitely recommend anyone who likes a stead paced class to take her.
I would definitely recommend taking this professor. I had taken her class during the winter semester and I will say it is an easy A. There are no online lectures, but there are 2 weekly discussions along with a 400 word writing test at the end of each week.
I absolutely love Professor Williams-Paez. This is my third class with her. The workload is very straightforward and manageable and I feel like I have learned so much from her classes. She is so sweet and caring and I genuinely look forward to reading the class announcements every week. Must take.
Very easy professor. Just do all of the assignments and you are guaranteed to get an A+ in her class. She was super nice and understanding. The class I took was also amazing and I learned a lot.
I loved this teacher. At first I thought it was overwhelming with all of the material and the written answers every week, but then I started to love them. I learned so much in this class and I am so grateful for it. If you do all of the assignments in her class then you are guaranteed an A as long as you don't mess up. I would def take this again.
Great teacher! Shes amazing. Wont regret taking this course. Learned a lot and she gives great feedback. As long as you do the work through fully youll receive full credit
HANDS DOWN, BEST PROFESSOR EVER! She is the most caring human being on earth. Class was easy, as long as you complete every assignment on time then you will have no problem passing this class with an A. She is there for her students and is so caring and understanding it's unbelievable. Thank You prof. Paez, You're the BEST! I HIGHLY RECOMMEND HER!
Sociology 101 was an easy class for me, I did the 5 week course and yes it was a lot of work, but that is normal. The professor was very clear about her guidelines and be ready to read and write. I was able to focus on my homework for two days and finish if I had no distractions. I definitely recommend this teacher, she is awesome.
Easy and fun class! As long as you put some effort, you will get a 100% in every assignment. The material is also very interesting. Take this class!
Professor Williams-Paez is a great teacher. She is very kind and responds fast to emails. I took her in Summer 2022, a 5 week course. There was a lot of reading, but no textbook and had to write a lot for discussions and tests, but overall I enjoyed the course. Just participate in discussions and complete assignments and you will get a good mark.
Amazing professor with clear class structure. Took SOCI100 and 104 which consists of: 1 to 3 short discussion posts per week and a short-answer quiz each week. The discussions are focused on a short reading/article or video. Easy grader as long as you answer the prompts directly and thoroughly. Responds fast to emails and is super kind and helpful!
Professor Williams-Paez is a wonderful teacher, and her class is as well! Took her Sociology 101 class in person, and it consisted of enriching seminars where we would debate and discuss certain topics about society. It inspired me in many ways to feel more connected with the world. Aside from 2 projects, the
Super easy A. A is anything above 66%. 8-week course & I honestly really enjoyed the content that I learned throughout the duration of the course. Typically 2-3 discussion boards that were based on various forms of content (articles, videos, etc). There was also a timed essay format quiz that consisted of 3 short answer questions (about 400 words).
I LOVE P. I took her intro to social justice class and it was one of the best classes I have ever taken. she was so passionate about what she spoke about. Every time I entered her class I felt I was in a safe space. You'd be so lucky to have her as your professor. I would only take her classes if I could!
This class was pretty chill even if you take it over the Winter or summer. I enjoyed this class and I would take her again. You have 1 quiz a week and 2-3 discussions a week where you have to respond to 2 people. I got full credit for everything as long as you turned it in on time. At the end she makes you do a final project which isn't that bad.
Very easy class, the teacher is friendly and responsive to questions and emails. Just be aware all the reading for the class comes from Marxist and socialist authors. All discussion questions are worded in a way that assumes the authors statements are true as opposed to allowing you agree or disagree with the author.
Took her accelerated online course in the Spring. Extremely easy class with about 3 assignments per week where you only had to answer a few questions based on 2-3 readings and then respond to a few classmates. Don't know if her classes are different in person or for the full semester but taking her 5-week class took almost no effort at all.
This class is pretty easy it is mostly just discussion boards as there are three a week. She assigns a lot of readings and videos each week but skimming should get the job done and get u the grade. Overall an easy class and prof if u need the credits take her.
This is basically an English class. Three discussion boards a week with a quiz which is essentially a mini essay at the end of each week. It requires minimal effort to pass this class with an A. The final is a research project with a presentation, its about the most she will ask of you. Other than that just put some effort and you will be just fine
Took Professor Williams-Paez's online SOC101 class - super easy with minimal work. The readings were interesting, and unstuck study was super helpful for quick study prep. Definitely recommend!
I took a 5-week course and Professor Paez was great! A week consisted of a chapter reading, 3 discussion boards, and a written quiz that pretty much put together the discussion boards. Super interesting, easy 100. I added this on week 2, but was easily able to catch up. Encouraging feedback on discussion boards. No textbook.
i took her class and was inspired. genuinely never had a teacher so genuine and sweet. Please take her and just do your work. she accepted late work and was understanding when I had issues and couldn't make it to lectures. she gave extra credit and if you really need help she WILL help you. she is the reason i made my major sociology
I don't typically write reviews for professors. However, professor Williams-Paez was beyond amazing, and caring. Considering I took sociology during winter, everything was very manageable. She grades very generously, and I will most definitely take another class from her.
You want to be in this professor's class. Trust me. The generous grading scale mentioned in the syllabus: yes it is accurate. Take this professor and enjoy learning about society through a unique approach.
she was rlly nice and the workload was pretty easy
Best professor!!! Everything online is clear and very generous. Just make sure to be communicative like emailing. But everything is self-explanatory. TAKE HER IF YOU NEED. Thought a lot of work was going have to be done but was the opposite. I learned a lot for a 8 week course.
Professor Williams-Paez is very passionate about what she teaches, I took her online and finished the class with a 100%. The workload in 5 weeks is SUPER manageable, it's very hard not to get an A in her class. Just do your assignments! She's great and this class won't stress you out.
I took an 8 week course. Professor Williams-Paez is supper understand as long as you communicate with her which she is good at responding back to emails. It was easy just discussion, quizzes and a final. She is great high recommend taking her!
She is amazing. I was taking her online class and got the day it started wrong and ended up missing a week's worth of work and she let me make it all up. She is super sweet and helpful.
Very easy. She's not a tough grader by any means. All materials are provided. The online 5 week class is just 3 discussion post per week (initial response by Wednesday and responding to 2 classmates by Friday), a quiz at the end of each week (3 short essay questions). Final is an annotated bibliography (10-12 sources) with 3-5 page essay.
super duper easy, just do your work and you'll get a free A! the 5 week course had 3x discussions a week, a free response quiz a week (basically asking what the discussions were asking) and 10-12 source annotated bibliography with a summary as the final project. gives credit for late assignments, no textbook needed.
I did a 5-week class, and this was the easiest one I have taken. She assigned 3 discussions a week, and they were super easy! She is really kind and does not assign a lot of work. I felt like I was in a normal class and not a quick 5-week one. This class is an easy A, and I did learn some things from it.
