This was one of the most enjoyable classes by far this semester. Professor Khagani does a really great job of going into depth and explaining the difficult parts of microbio. Grades are straight forward and she is more than happy to help. Overall I recommend taking Professor Khagani for microbio if given the oppurtunity!
Ms. Khaghani is always prepared for class and she is very knowledgeable in the material. Her lectures are very thorough and she breaks down the material to where it is relatable and you are able to understand. She assigns plenty assignments that will assist and prepare you for the exams.
I absolutely loved having her as a professor.
It is a hard class but is very fun and worth it
BEST BIO 1407 TEACHER YOU CAN TAKE! she knows how to teach and goes into conclusions about the topic being taught. She is caring and will be willing to help you pass this course. TAKE HER CLASS YOU WONT REGRET!
BEST BIOLOGY 1407 PROFESSOR!! Very approachable and friendly! She really cares about her students and goes above and beyond!
An AMAZING professor. Her lectures are quite interesting and engaging. I was scared of the tests, but if you genuinely pay attention, do her reviews, and study then you will be good! She is approachable, funny, and really nice. She cares for her students and wants to make sure you not only pass but understand the material. Take her you won't regret
Don't take, test averages were below 50% all the time
She is kind and a solid lecturer but clearly was unprepared to effectively structure a non majors class. Her exams have questions that are beyond the scope of her dated chapter slides that had tons of content that were useless for the exams. The discussion boards are badly made and the rubric was changed every single time which was very annoying.
Amazing professor, class lectures are important, must be there. Weekly quizes over class lecture.
The class is an ok class to take for non majors biology. There are around 8 discussion boards that are sometimes graded harsh and can lower your grade a lot. One of the tests are dropped which saves your grade a lot. There is lots of lectures but she tries her best to make it as entertaining for the students as possible.
Professor was very understanding about situations and grades but the class was a little difficult due to the constant assignments every other night.
good class overall. lectures are difficult to follow but read the textbook and study and youll be okay. exams are also difficult but shes a great person and gives plenty of extra credit so you can pass
Prof. Khaghani is a pretty decent bio teacher. She assigns a reasonable and doable amount of work that relates to what we learn in the class and is nice and occasionally funny. She drops the lowest test grade and has a couple of extra credit which is nice. The tests do contain a lot of information but if you study then they're pretty easy.
She's a great teacher and I would take her again. She drops the lowest exam grade and offers extra credit. However, there are lab quizzes every week and spelling is mandatory. This class requires a lot of memorization and studying, but she provides many helpful slideshows and videos.
Professor Khaghani truly about her students success. The homework she assigns is beneficial not just busy work. Overall enjoyed this semester
great lectures and a very approachable person for if you ever need help in understanding something. 3 lecture exams and one comprehensive final, her lab lecture take up most the class so you will usually have homework, read the book and take notes if you want anything higher than a B, her exams are tough so don't doubt the content of her slides.
You should know that you have to take the class as serious as you can from the beginning to the very end. If you're going to take Professor Khaghani, make sure you are taking her class with classes that are easy because you need to focus most, if not all your attention on this class. Make sure you read emails and announcements!
It's an okay class. Lecture exams are heavy and you have to memorize a lot information for both class and lab. I would recommend to attend labs because you will miss quizzes. If you take this class be prepared to spend a couple hours throughout the week/weekend.
This class is kind easy but with a challenging aspect by how you have to know a lot of detailed information, which that means for the exams, you would need to study 3 to 4 weeks in advanced because she is a fast talker and their is a lot of notes.
She is professional in her lectures; she doesn't mind repeating the material and answering different questions; she gives information above and beyond the material; She uses easy language to explain; she cares for the students and shows them ways to learn better; she uses cool examples; her class is not boring.
She is a great professor, there are weekly lecture quizzes that are open note and are taken at home, not proctored so easy 100. She drops the lowest lecture exam and gives extra credit. There a 1 group presentation to make a review for an exam and can be used to study. She is very nice and gives a lot of opportunities to raise your grade.
Professor Khaghani is so nice and she really cares about your grades. She really gives you lots of opportunities to raise up your grades. she gives lecture quizzes almost every week and the lecture quiz is open note. She also gives you enough time to do the discussion boards. At the end of the semester she drops a lecture exam.
Do all the assignment and quizzes. Study for the lab quizzes especially because you will see the questions on the practicals, they will be detailed. Pay attention in class and write good notes. Use the lecture quizzes to study for the exam. Pay attention to the details! Overall if you pay attention to what she is saying you will be fine. Good Luck.
A nice teacher but the work load can be a bit of burden if you have multiple hard classes so balance them.
The class lectures are extremely important and are where most of the exam information is given to you.
I loved Professor Khaghani! She was amazing, her lectures were easy to follow, and she always responds to her email very fast. Would take her course again.
Makes it clear to give practice problems, outline what will be on exams, and she does drop low grades. She does a lot to help students succeed. The main issue is the class is very lecture heavy, which is how most biology classes are, however sometimes it does go a bit fast. For an A, you would need to study a lot, and take notes/pay attention.
Her quizzes and exams are very easy and her slides are very simple as well as straight to the point. However, she tends to talk fast and you have to write A LOT of notes.
Easy to get lost, since she does talk pretty fast and a lot. She is always willing to repeat everything. Did offer an extra credit opportunity only bad thing is that its on the weekend. Online quizzes, tests are fair if you study. Some of the wording on the exam made a bit confusing to understand what she was asking. Overall not that bad.
The time duration to take tests can be a bit mixed up on some days. You could have two tests one week and three tests the next week. Other than that, she provides plenty of examples and extra resources to help you succeed in the class. You have to complete work on time or else you won't get an extension or day to make it up no matter the reason.
Overall great professor! You are taught the topic twice, once in lecture and once in lab. Lab quizzes can be a bit tricky unless you study the TopHat notes. Practicals are free response which make spelling crucial. If you take good notes, review the powerpoints and lecture quizzes then your exams should be simpler. Best of luck !
Overall she is a great teacher, pay attention during the lectures and study the PowerPoint beforehand. Gather all the important information gathered and study for those lecture tests. For the lab, make sure you pay attention to the microscope slides and memorize them. She is a great teacher though, DO take her class. Highly recommended!!
Super sweet and kind personality, you should study HEAVY she speaks quickly and theres a lot of information.I would suggest group studying and self
This was honestly a very interesting and hands-on class. The professor herself was very communicative, made sure you understand everything before she moved on, and was extremely helpful. Major tip while taking this class would definitely be review the quizzes, it will help you out a ton! All in all 10/10 would recommend!
The lectures and lab can be fast-paced so taking time outside of class to review/finish is important. The content she uses is very relative to tests and quizzes though. She is very nice and cares about her students; she drops a lot of assignments even a lecture exam and provides opportunities for extra credit. To study, review slides and quizzes.
Very nice teacher
Overall she was fine, be sure to pay attention at all times because she moves very fast and talks very fast but she does everything to make sure you are successful for the exams, online quizzes are easy.
Great professor, gives multiple opportunities for extra credit/bonus points. The class does move fast because of how much content it is, but reviewing the lecture slides and quizzes are very useful for tests.
The professor is a great biology professor. She is clear on the assignments and homework. She gives out extra credit in the lab, and the instructions during the lab session.
You will need to study and pay attention!!
She was clear with her instructions and does take her time to explain each concept in details. Additionally, she does provide information that is not covered in class, which can help you during lecture times. Sometimes, she vaguely mentioned information; however, she usually does give you or tells you what's going to be on the quiz or exam.
Professor Khaghani is a very nice professor. She is caring and always offers to help. Her lectures are clear and engaging. The material was not difficult. Overall I really enjoyed her class.
Lectures are a little fast and there will be many quizzes but they will truly help you to study for the practicals. You will need to study a lot for this class so be prepared.
Professor is very nice and has quizzes for previous lab every lab which are very useful to study for practical. Also has powerpoint notes during lab to write which help study for practical. I suggest this professor if you are a very hands on learner.
In general, I would say Professor Khaghani is a good professor, I just had trouble adapting to her teaching style. She is pretty straight forward with her grading criteria and gives reviews which are accurate to what's on the tests for the most part. I would recommend if you took her, to read or skim over each chapter before the lecture.
I took her for lab, which wasn't bad. She has a powerpoint for lab and to be honest they are long. You don't get out of lab early, but she is very nice. She gives out quizzes at the beginning of lab, but they are only worth 5%. At the end she started letting us do it with our group table which was nice.
Personally, I don't really like long lectures. She spends a large amount of class time on lectures. She also gives homework and quizzes for every week. She's a nice lady, but I don't actually understand a thing she lectures. I do okay enough in her class though after studying.
She is very nice and caring if you get to know her. The lectures are very through, but at times difficult to follow along. Study for the quizzes every week!! Every point matters. Try to participate, and not drift off. The lab is long but attend every one. Lastly, just try, as long as you put in effort you shouldn't fail. Good Luck
I took her biology lab, which wasn't extremely hard. Although the class did require outside work and lots of studying. The lab was also very long, and we rarely got to leave earlier. She is really nice and very passionate about biology though.
This profesor was great at teaching, but for lab the whole time was always used and gave little time for lab assignments. There were quizzes before every class, so studying is important as some of them are open-ended. Overall, though, the teacher is nice and friendly.
They have a lot of information in their lectures and give you access to the slides. Homework matters a lot and study for your tests. They are all comprehensive.
Professor Khaghani cares a lot about her students and helps us really understand the material. You have to put in effort to be successful in this class. There is homework and quizzes due every week but it helps you long-term when studying for midterms and finals. I would recommend to take her if you are determined to actually learn the content.
She is a very lecture heavy professor and be sure to get ready to memorize, memorize, memorize because you are going to need it for weekly quizzes. She gives out homework that will not affect your grade.
Her reviews are the best and they help you a lot!!
This class is easy if you study. There are quizzes for each lab you have, but you will be fine if you study. The content is not difficult. There is just a lot of information to remember especially for the first practical.
She moves at a fairly fast pace during lectures, Good at explaining but you do have to listen very carefully. She is very caring about grades and gives good extra credit opportunities.
It was ok, she does reviews for the practicels, post powerpoints, quiz every class easy i guess you need a lockdown broser. but overall its ok. I had no problems so far
She moves at a fast pace so you must pay attention, there is a quiz every time you have lab and as long as you study it isn't too difficult. In this class you have a lot to memorize so i would set aside at least two hours of study time for this class.
STUDY. A lot of information about this course. Professor goes very quickly on lectures and labs. Download lockdown browser for lab quizzes. Check Top Hat for more information. Be prepared for using technology/computer for labs.
Overall, Professor Khaghani is great at lecturing in lab and during lectures. She makes sure you understand the concept by giving you optional homework assignments and reviews that help you study for practical and lecture exams. She does offer extra credit, and it helps with your grade a lot.
Prof. Khaghani has credibility in biology. Like labs, her lectures are heavy yet provide notes. There are 4 exams and a midterm lab practical + final. She is lenient yet rarely provides EC. I suggest taking her to learn about biology's non-science aspects. Attend class to earn a high grade.
Nice professor & does give a lot of resources to study for lab exams. One thing is she takes up the whole lab time to lecture.Taking bio in uni, they would let us go as soon as we finished the lab. Just felt like there was too much to do just for the lab portion in her class as a non-science major. Her weekly hws are not graded either.
Prof. Khaghani was an amazing professor! I took her summer BIOL-1406 course and found it pretty easy! It is a fast pace course but it is manageable. Prof. Khaghani is very engaged with her lecture and is always making sure that everyone understands what she is saying. She is very transparent about what is on her test and gives extra credit!
Took this class as a summer course. This class was fast-paced but very doable. Sometimes lectures can get very long but luckily she made review videos that helped a lot when taking the exams. The labs were pretty straightforward and interesting. Gave multiple chances of extra credit which is greatly appreciated. Overall a very caring professor.
Took her for summer and she is amazing! Yes it's challanging but, it is biology for science majors which is understandable. She gives optional quizzes and lab homework which is extra credit. She will repeat and explain something as many times until you understand. Don't take for summer if you can't take time to actually study or handle fast pace.
She's a really amazing professor who cares about her students. I really recommend her to anyone I took her during summer and didn't have an issue grasping concepts and learning.
The summer course is rigorous because it's squeezing a semester's worth of materials into 5 weeks. Be prepared to eat, sleep, and breathe Biology. Ms. Khaghani is willing to help the best she can. Offers extra credit and review videos to help prepare for lecture and lab exams. She allows us to review our past exams in order to prepare for Finals.
She's a very good professor, but not for everyone. I feel like if you're going to take her class, you should take it in a normal semester, not a winter or summer semester. Class goes too fast in the summer; other than that, you're graded by a few things, which are just 4 exams and 2 practical exams. Nice teacher but not for everyone
Professor Khaghani is excellent. She lays out the expectations clearly and follows them. If you follow her advise, you will do well. It helps if you pre-read the chapter prior to lecture. She is available to answer your questions during & after class. She takes the time to re-explain concepts. Tests are fair. I would definitely take her again.
Lectures and Lab were not as bad as I thought they would be for a summer class. She gave us plenty of study material to review as well as exam reviews for every exam and practical (clutch). 10/10 would take again.
Professor Khaghani is by far one of the best professors I have ever had. Her mission is to ensure that you grow and learn in her class and she excels at that. Before this class, I hated biology, but this class was so exciting for me and allowed me to see biology in a new light. You will need to read, study, and use any resources recommended.
Clear grading Criteria. Although the class had a lot of information, the exams were straight forward, the professor cared, and she taught well. Highly recommend her.
The professor had a clear grading policy. The class is information heavy, however her tests were clear and straight forward. Highly recommend taking her class
Professor Khagani is an amazing professor. She really cares for her students and goes above and beyond to make sure students understand the material.
Professor Khaghani, Was amazing! She provides you with everything you need to know to be successful. She also goes above and beyond to make extra reviews videos to help students prep for exams. The lab practical is timed which can be stressful but overall great class.
She was an amazing teacher with great resources. The first few units might be challenging, but it gets better as you progress. The slides are essential for the tests, so be sure to watch her videos, as they contain key information. Form a study group to quiz each other before the test. COLORS and sticky notes for your notes, it easier to find stuff
You must study hard and review lecture material before classes. Definitely utilize the help that the teacher gives you. She will have office hours, review videos and links to the biology learning commons. All of these resources help you in getting great grades in this class. (P.S. study with a group before each test/practical)
Professor Khagani is a fantastic! She is passionate about biology and teaches brilliantly for her lecture. Additional support is available through her office hours. It's important to not take the opportunities she has for extra credit. lab, it is very fun and engaging. If you pay attention in the lab and lecture for the test, you will surely pass.
Professor Khaghani is a great professor who care about her students success. She makes review videos for every exam that are super helpful and her lectures are simple and understanding. The exams are super straightforward and she drops the lowest exam grade (not the final though). There are quizzes in lab but we get to use our notes to complete it.
She is really good at teaching and very gently when answer your question. She gives a good extra credit to improve your grade. she teaches very detail both lesson and lab class. The best class and Professor to take.
She was great, only difficult thing to me was lab but that was my own fault. Professor Khaghani.. do not take advantage of her kindness towards your grades. Put in the effort, stay dedicated, and be on top of your game and actually HEAR her lectures not just LISTEN. I promise things will be worth it in the end of time. Keep your head up.
Her lectures were sometimes long, but she made sure to explain the material in a way that it was simple and understandable. Bio 1407 for me was a lot yet she condensed the information through the notes and homework. The practicals aren't that bad, and she provides extra credit. Overall, she's a great and caring lab professor.
Professor Khaghani is the best, take her! I would have taken her for Biol 1407, but it was a Saturday class She is very caring, has great office hours, and is always willing to help you understand the material. She is the best - take her as your first choice, and she gives EXTRA CREDIT!
She is very good at explaining things, very lecture heavy so show up to class and ask questions if you dont understand, she'll stop and explain. You will have to revise over what you learned because it is a lot but not impossible. Exams are worth a lot and very little is assignments so studying is a must, use SI if available.
