I was extremely disappointed from the beginning in this class, despite loving art history 1 last semester. Although the topics discussed were interesting and I thoroughly enjoyed a lot of the discussions and challenges, Dr. Giuntini was a huge let down. I could not enjoy or learn much from her at all. Her feedback seemed rushed and she didn't care.

All the quizzes are on quizlet, so that's cool. But this is the most ridiculous intro course I've ever taken. There are 5 papers that are each about 2,500 words long. Most people taking this class just want an easy A, so do not take this class if you're looking to put no effort in.

This Professor really does not care about the individual student. Grades impossibly hard and does not give much description on assignments its vague and if you get it wrong you're completely out of luck I received an A in my Art History survey 1 and expected the same in this class but was sorely mistaken. I enjoy Art History and hated this class!

Easy A. Crazy amounts of xtra credit available for turning in assignments 1day early. Even so: AVOID THIS CLASS/PROFESSOR. Written assignments are arduous, boring, and simplistic. I learned very little, and I got over 100% in the class. You will spend hours filling in LONG worksheets of dubious value. Easy A, but at what cost?

Its labeled art appreciation for non majors however, I felt like I shouldve been majoring in art with the amount of work. Also, everything is textbook based and youre supposed to learn everything on your own which is difficult because art is subjective. Tough graders & LOTS of useless writing assigments. Avoid at all costs!!!

After first I thought I signed up for the wrong class and took it for Art Majors... NOPE I was wrong. There is so much work, written assignments, quizzes, and discussions just to be graded hard. Many people taking this class are looking to get an easy A out of the way for a subject not critical to the focus of their major.

1st online class at UNT and it was the absolute worst. Online system was full of glitches which caused me to lose 100 points. Late work is not accepted even if the glitch is on the students end. TA graded ridiculously hard, never properly answered questions and feedback was typically one word which wasn't helpful. I learned absolutely nothing.

If I could give this class zero stars, I would. PLEASE don't put yourself through this as I did for a whole semester :( My TA took months to grade my work and I recieved snappy emails full of lies. The class was very time consuming, and I still didn't learn anything. DO NOT PICK THIS PROFESSOR

One of the worst classes I have taken. She grades hard and isn't forgiving of mistakes due to technology. There is a ton of work for this course and the only resources she gives to teach is the textbook. The amount of time I put into the course was not worth the outcome. Avoid this Professor at all costs.

She grades you as if you're an art major even though this class is for non art majors. You have to learn EVERYTHING on your own from the textbook, and she's a tough grader. Do not take this class unless you're ACTUALLY interested in art as a non art major. Otherwise you'll hate yourself.

There is no contact with the professor whatsoever. Everything is done through the TA's and they are very tough graders. If you don't explain things word for word as stated in assignment instructions, than you will get a bad grade even if you were correct on everything.

I am going straight to the point, do not take this class no matter what anyone else tells you. Find another elective. I passed the class and got a high grade but it is not worth the energy. TA's grade hard and the Prof. doesn't do anything apart from sending announcements. Absolutely no extra credit!

Honestly I cannot believe an art teacher would not allow me an extension after I had a health issue. I have so many things to say but they are not nice. I emailed her plenty of times talked to the ODA. Im a biology major and even they understand. But art seriously ?

The professor is very rude and not understanding AT ALL. She makes you contact the dean with issues or she wont accept late work. TAs take off points for the smallest of things. Do not take this professor. So much work and the TAs are hard graders for no reason. The professor is extremely rude. You will probably get a decent grade but the amount of work you have to put in is not worth it. One of the worst professors and classes I have ever had.

By far the hardest and most intense 1000 level class Ive taken. For example, before a record breaking winter storm in which we ended up losing power and access to canvas for just short of a week, she sent an announcement that late work will not be accepted for any reason, including power outages. This is for an online class. TAs do all the work.

DON'T TAKE THIS CLASS. She doesn't even interact with the class. This is basically a self-taught art class for nonmajors that is graded like a level 4 art major class. Expectations on assignments are confusing. And the best part is you can't make up assignments even if you have a medical excuse.

The module assignments became more intense and difficult as the semester passed. I took her Art Appreciation class for non-majors, but she had us include a number of aspects to recognize or to have in one painting. Beware, if you are to take her class, you'll be wanting to rip your hair out in frustration.

This is an Art for non-manors class yet it was my most annoying one of the semester. The module assignments and quizzes arent easy. Grades come back late and the only comments on module assignments was try to use more terms from the book. I would genuinely put a lot of thought and consideration into the work but my grades only dropped.

I tried really hard in this class and every time I turned in an assignment I would usually get told couldve been better without any reason as to what I specifically couldve done. The TAs are so rude and the professor almost didnt acknowledge the winter storm. Do not take her class. She was the worst.

The teacher doesn't teach or respond to emails. The TAs were pretty good, but took a while to grade assignments. The syllabus and grading system were not correct and the teacher changed less than 2 weeks before the class ended. If you do all the assignments you should pass with a good grade, but don't expect to learn much!

Not worth the time and effort. The class says specifically for non art majors. But the professor grades pretty heavily on all assignments. The means of trying your best does not save you from this class. If you havent taken art class before then you are out of luck.

Do not take this professor. The TAs grade way too hard on papers when this class is literally for non majors. The teacher overall is just unresponsive and doesnt even let you ask for help from other students on an assignment so you can understand whats going on. I worked for hours on the assignments and my highest grade was an 88. Ridiculous.

The professor cares way too much about cheating to the point that she sent out multiple emails saying we can not help each other on anything. . The professor grading scale does not make any sense what so over. she grades by adding up your points and having below an 85% is considered a C and same thing with having below a 95% it is considered a B.

Honestly, one of the worst professors Ive had at UNT. She assigned us a group project with people we dont know, and when I told her that people in my group were not participating, she stated that I would have to accept a zero if no one else worked on the assignment with me. The TAs grade all the work, but give minimal feedback.

There is a professor for this class but no one is allowed to contact her, you must go to her TA. The lesson is very vague, and you cannot get help for each other or she will fail you, yet she doesn't help AT ALL! Her TA is behind with grading yet she doesn't accept late work. DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS! YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED! It's graded above regular.

I took this class for an elective and it sucked. The professor isn't involved in the class at all, only the TA's grade and talk to you. They grade really hard for the class despite it being a non art major class. I got better scores on the creative assignments than the essay i did. Group project was terrible idea for an online class

Worst professor Ive ever had at UNT. She never replied to my emails and isnt clear about instructions. The TAs are very tough graders. I didnt have power during the weather crisis and still received a 0 in an assignment that was due a day before the university closed.

Anytime I reached out with questions both the TA's and professor would shut me down and not be helpful at all. There are no exams in this class. So much time spent on every assignment. You will never received full credit. Ignored winter storm. Harsh grading and unreasonable about due dates. 1 min late and you will still get a zero. Don't do it. RUN

Quizzes are open book. Major assignments require you to apply what you learned from the readings. The TA's & Professor want you to use terms from the book on written assignments in order to receive a good grade. Assignments can be time consuming. I passed with an A but I was stressed the entire semester. I would not take this professor again. Ever

I needed this class for a fine arts credit at UNT and it had nothing to do with my major. Yet, this was one of the hardest classes I took this YEAR. NEVER TAKE THIS CLASS UNLESS YOU WANT TO FAIL or put all your time into it. All of the work was hard and the TAs graded extra hard.

Parme giuntini was one of the worse teachers to be in a class with, this was the most stressful class ever. She doesnt help students either with issues like technology. They grade very strict even though this is a beginner art course. Try to take this course if you NEED to or if you can have a teacher other then parme giuntini.

NO LATE WORK ACCEPTED!!! If you don't turn work in on time, you're screwed. Professor is not interactive w/class AT ALL! TA's do all the grading and interaction. The assignments are time consuming and cannot be thrown together. Harsh grading that takes FOREVER! I have 5 assignments waiting to be graded w/5 days left in the semester -_-

The worst part about this class is how slowly things are graded. A few of my assignments took over a month to be graded. the class has a heavy work load and is way too difficult for a non-art majors class.

I was not able to turn in one of the M assignments and my grade dropped a whole letter. Couldnt do anything about it,Teacher is inconsiderate and the TAs grade randomly. Last assignment is a group project no final, she doesnt teach anything you learn everything from the the textbook. About to have a C just off of one assignment , this is sick

The work in this class was very tedious and time consuming. Don't expect to be able to finish an assignment in 30 minutes, each one took me 2 hours or more. There is tons of reading. No late work is accepted and the professor will not take any excuses. Do NOT take this class at all it is not worth it!!

So this Fall 2022 semester is my first fall semester at UNT and am a transfer student. Her and her TA's grade very toughly and even though she has those 3 TA's, things aren't being graded in a timely manner. I have no choice but to fail the class and take another art class for credit.

She has a very unclear grading criteria and seems to come off as hostile, and her TAs grade everything. She's not the professor you want to take. Believe me! I'd say i'm a very well motivated and straight A's student. I overlooked the negative comments and gave the class my all. I withdrew not because I'm failing,but because of the immense stress.

DO NOT TAKE HER FOR ART 1300. I WAS AN INNOCENT FRESHMAN AND MADE THE MISTAKE OF CHOOSING HER. She gave me a 62 on a test weighted essay I spent days on. She is the single worst grader in history. I took this class as a senior and it is literally THE HARDEST CLASS IVE EVER TAKEN. Not that the answers aren't accessible in the textbook, but who wants to take a 150+ question "quiz" every week (that generates a new question if you get it wrong) if you aren't even an art major!!! Also the assignments are graded harshly and take a lot of time.

This is the kind of professor that went into teaching just to fail students! She shows no empathy! I got the flu and was very ill to complete an assignment and asked for an extension, then she proceeded to say that only if I was hospitalized, she would. She literally says "If you think this class will be easy it won't be" red flag she grades hard!

TAs grade extremely madly hard and nitpick every single things in your paper. BE CAREFUL WITH TA!!!!

I don't understand how I am able to excel in all of my other advanced courses that are 3000/4000, and this is the hardest class I have taken.

Do not take this class!! This class is a non-art major course and it is graded like it is your last class for your doctoral in art. The quizzes are VERY difficult and most questions are not multiple choice but "click all that apply" or drag and drop answers, not once did I receive a 100% on a quiz or an assignment, even though I am a 4.0 student.

This class is for non art majors, but they expect you to have a good amount of artistic abilities. I took this class over the summers, and the TA's grade rough too. i made an account just to tell you the reviews aren't lying. the most annoying part is the worksheets where you have to create your own artwork. as someone who's decent at art, it is mind-boggling how tough the TAs grade you for not having "appealing" artwork. i've cried about two times so far.

The grading is way too tough for a non-art major class, with assignments graded like we're professionals. The professor and TAs are unhelpful, and the workload is overwhelming. I regret taking this class. Also, I'm the 100th person to give this class a 1-star review, so take that as a serious warning to NEVER take this class.

DON"T take this class I just finished my last day in here luckily, I was able to end off with a B. This is horrible for it to be a non-art major class it's graded like were professionals. Worst grading and feedback I've seen in college so far, especially for a class with so many discussion posts.

The professor does not seem to care about the students circumstances or the course itself. I had a power outage during a storm and couldn't submit an assignment on time, and she would refuse to receive the work and gave a zero. All lectures are either pre recorded from during the COVID 19 pandemic or just textbook readings. Never take her class.

Hated this stupid art class. Annoying quizzes and discussion posts and projects are graded like if we're trying to become the next Picasso and unclear abt feedback. They try so hard to make this a serious class when its just an art class no one wants to take. Doesn't curve final grade, wouldn't curve my grade by 1 point to get an A made me so mad

Once got told "I don't know what I'm looking at" Keep in mind they were very much able to zoom in AND I explained what it was. Absolute trash annoying class. Stupid assignments that required going out of your way and doing too much. Professor needs to be fired. I am busy I don't have time to go to a museum for a stupid assignment and I have better things to do, especially for trash class that is not even part of my major.
