Heavey accent sometimes hard to understand. Easy work, but VERY boring. Get ready for cramps in your hand during lectures, sometimes goes too fast. A lot of extra credit. Definitly study for the tests!!

I do not like the way she teaches the class. She makes you read the chapter but lectures on something else. Her overheads are not very helpful and not detailed. She's nice but boring. She has a monotonous voice and stutters alot. mult choice test hard.

She gives handouts and info that are EXACTLY what will be on her tests. Even though they are long tests and it is a lot of work, as long as you study the information she gives out in class and listen to what she says during lecture, you will do well

Overall easy class (got a B), but she's not very clear on many things and wasn't lenient on clearing them up. Doesn't talk very loud and it was hard to hear her. Just copy the overheads, skim the book and do the extra credit work.

She offers so many extra credit points, unbelievable!! Gives you a word list to use when reading the book, can even use it on the test! Need to work to get and A, but extra credit will definitely cover it!! Very nice, class was great.

BORING!!! She knows her stuff, but she can't teach it in an interesting way. She thinks everybody has to be as enthusiastic about history as she is and this is the only class students are taking. Tests are easy, you can use 5 pages HANDWRITTEN notes.

Main Problem with her is that she is very unclear on wha t she wants you to know, most the stuff she goes over in class is not on the test. She also mispronunciates words than has the gaull to tell someone they spelled something wrong

She gives you word lists which are very helpful, but there are still additional questions she won't warn you about. You have to make sure you read the chapters. They are very long, so it is best to take notes as you go. She lets you have notes on the test. Also, she gives at least 20 points worth of extra credit, along with additional points for speaking up. The paper is very easy, so long as you can write and research. Very friendly lady.

I will be honest... listen to me everyone... she isnt hard, but she is hard to understand. That is the hardest thing about the class is to understand her. Besides that, the class is really fair, actually, its more than fair because you get a LOT of extra credit oppurtunities and you get to use a page of notes per chapter! GOOD CLASS!!! 4 out of 5

Nice teacher, very passionate about history. Grading scale:5pg research paper, extra credit for speaking up, 1 pg of handwritten notes PER chapter for her Exams. How easy can it get? My only gripe is less discussion, more lecture. I am here to learn not listen to peer opinions.

Very organized lectures, takes role and minus points for absences. Nice enough lady but sometimes talks down to us as most history profs do. Gives alot of extra credit. Multi-choice exams are super easy if you read the book and take detailed cheat sheets. I recommend this class if you actually like going to class.

This class consists of three tests, all multiple choice and allows students to bring in one page of notes (front and back) per chapter. A 4-5 research paper is also assigned in this class. This class requires a lot of reading. There is also many extra credit opportunities available in this class. Overall, it is a good class and you learn a lot.

I took 110 first and got an A. I then took 109 and got an F...I know it doesn't make sence. I ace'd all the tests and turned in a quality paper equal to my 110 class. I almost had a heart attack when I checked my grade online, an F was the last thing I was expecting

lecturing is unclear. hard to understand from context to pronunciation. Theres always a case when she incourages you to participate in lectures by answering her questions, but even though you answered it right, she tells you that you answered wrong, and she basically rephrases your answer for correction. + she isn't friendly to disabled students.

You have to have a good amount of time to devote to this class in terms of reading. She loves participation and gives a good review before a test (gives exact page #'s and topics to study). She plays favorites and can be rude at times though.

Excellent professor. Gives an unbiased and fair portrayal of US History and is very informative and thorough. All you have to do is pay attention in class (which means put away the cell phones, stop talking amongst yourselves, and take notes) and keep up with the reading and the rest takes care of itself.

Very hard, useless teacher! She has an accent, talks in a monotone, and is very boring! Even though she lets you have front and back page of notes for tests, it doesn't help because the exams are extremely difficult and she requires detailed answers! Grades on a curve, so an 'A' cutoff is 92%. Difficult grader, lots of reading. Would not recommend.

The class wasn't that hard, but the teacher is terrible at communicating with her students. The class was online so student-teacher communication was important. I emailed her probably 10 times during the course and most responses were basically "see syllabus". The syllabus didn't represent the class very well either.

Online. Not hard, not easy. Basically read the whole text over the semester. Participate in the discussions, get a good grade. The tests aren't hard, but have random facts figures from the book. Probably best history class I've had. Hated it before, now not so much. Read the syllabus, gets annoyed if asked questions that're already answered there.

the couse is on line so communication is a key to on line teaching and if you are a DSPS student forget it because she will not even take that in to consideration not only that she locks assignments before due date then gives out 0 I have enrolled in many on-line course and this is the worst teacher I have ever had in my life.

He tests are general, you have to understand everything in the text to understand the questions on the test. I dont recommend her. She just lectures off powerpts. So boring. not interesting at all. Proffessor Ghaffari has a good method of teaching. Her lectures are interesting and present history in a critical way. Her tests are challenging and mesaure one's understanding of history. It is necesssary to read the book because while some concepts are introduced in the lecture are nto fully explained. I recomend to take this professor.

I got an "A" in this class last semester, and I'd like to say that I was a good student. But honestly, I would NOT suggest this class. Not only does she not understand or answer your questions, but she's just a difficult professor to learn from. If you read the book you'll make it through, but I noticed some exam questions weren't even in there.

Rarely need to communicate with professor. Beware she is extremely picky when it comes to grammar and language used on the discussion boards. She will dock points for even one misspelled word and there is no option to edit posts. Tests are easy if you do the reading. Impossible to pass if you fall behind or don?t put in the effort and do all work.

A little preachy about a certain world-religion and its wonderful influence on history(hint hint). She is very passionate about the subject matter and really does have much to share. The in-class discussions are rewarding but do not attempt to argue anything with her. You can get an A if you really study all the material and participate.

Took the online course. 4 tests that require you to remember mostly unimportant facts read in the chapter. You must read the chapters in order to pass the tests. Professor is unwilling or too lazy to answer question thoroughly. It was frustrating getting Ds on the tests, but I pulled an B in the class in the end. Not terrible, take it if you need.

Took the class online, I found it to be very easy. Hated the subject and easily pulled an A. I skimmed through the chapters and had no problems with the tests. If you have a bad memory probably not for you. If you're too lazy to semi read, why are you bothering with college classes?

The stuff learned in class is pretty easy as long as you actually read the textbook & use the study guides. This lady just makes it the learning experience unpleasant. She is unclear, boring, & rude. For the final exam, she kept adding more essays & changed one of the prompts at the very last minute. Do avoid her unless you LOVE history.

Took her online class, there were no office hours and it took several days to get an answer back. Incredibly difficult to get clarity on assignments, and her expectations changed throughout the semester. As an "A" student I found the class incredibly frustrating. Not because of the difficulty, but because the professor seems to hate her profession.

online. Seriously, what's up with all the comments complaining about having to read the textbook? Expectations are set up at the beginning of the semester in the syllabus. Do the assigned readings and hopefully you can write in the English language. If not, might I suggest trade school. Take it if you want to examine history critically.

This Professor is the worst I have ever taken a class from. I took this class online, and when you would message her with a question it would take a week to get a reply. The tests that she grades you on are extremely difficult. The way she writes them, you would think we all had a PhD in History. She is a very hard graded!!

Assignments aren't graded based on a percentage-there's no A B C or D. They're graded based on points and you need 280 points to pass the class. Cuz of this I never actually knew how I was doing in class. It's easy to fall behind, you miss a few assignments or don't get the highest grade on one you may not be able to pass-I had to drop out.
