She lectures using power points which come from the text book. I strongly recommend reviewing the lectures and labs before the class. Her tests are extremely easy if you study with her study guide that she gives you.
Almost every aspect of her teaching style is professional. Having said that, does professionalism equate to efficient teaching? None of my classmates whom I've spoken with thought so. She's personable to a degree, but her martinet professor persona is somewhat repulsive. Don't get me wrong, she's a nice person. She just comes off the wrong way.
She is nice on the surface but quickly turned not so nice. She ranted at us for a good thirty mins of class and makes us feel stupid if we don't know the answers to her questions or if we don't participate. Tests aren't so bad as she does give good study guides.
Class is straight forward, Labs and Tests. I felt the labs were many times worded incorrectly and instructions did not always coincide with what we were doing but Dr. Akter is very helpful. You can definitely get an A if you study the practice tests.
I would not recomend. She makes you feel stupid, and the lecture days are extreemly boring. If you take her class... good luck!
she is nice and her tests are easy if you study the study guide.
Okay teacher, not my favorite. Lectures are really boring, lab days are the best part of class. Tests are pretty easy and straight-forward. She gives study guides, which are word-for-word on the tests. Occasional lab questions on tests, which are the hardest part. She loves science, I personally do not. Easy to get at least a B in this course.
Good Professor for what shes teaching only thing is shes hard to understand. Very Thick accent and moves through slides quick. I suggest if you take her course print out the slides and follow along with those making your own notes on side of slides.
The class its self is boring, but pretty easy. The tests are easy because of the study guides she gives which is in the same format as the test. Lab days were the best days.
Good Professor and well-structured class. I loved the labs most. She is very helpful and kind person. Highly recommend her.
Not a great teacher, but her tests are easy.
This class was pretty easy. Just study her study guides for test and attend lab classes and you will be fine
review studyguides and copy labs. test are bas directly off the study guides and multple choice
Dr. Akter is a pretty good teacher. She lectures through power points and very prompt in grading tests/projects. She is always available if you need her help.
Study the study guides before class and pay attention to powerpoints.
She's not the best teacher, but she's a good person. She's easier one-on-one. Does not reply to e-mails on time like she said she would. As long as you study and do the work, you should be fine.
Intelligent teacher with a wealth of knowledge. Sometimes topics were hard to understand due to teaching style, but overall she is a good teacher.
Professor has a great deal of knowledge however difficult to understand at times because she goes through topics fast. Topics were easier to understand when she showed videos. Professor is very nice.
Professor was very knowledgeable in subject and was always willing to go back and readdress the topic if needed or one did not understand. Her English is very tough to understand at times.
She is a good teacher, and makes sure every student is involved with learning the material in class. As long as you study a lot and take good notes in class you should be okay. She doesn't always reply to e-mails so just make sure that you bring your questions to class and have everything clarified before you leave.
She's not that difficult to understand. Helpful when asked for help, though very critical. Tests are ok, but labs may be difficult to completely understand and knowledge of these is needed for the tests.
Dr. Akter is a great teacher and she wants everyone to be involved in her class. she will repeat anything you don't understand and she also asks questions during her lectures so make sure you're listening. her test are from her study guides so if you memorize that you'll be just fine
Dr Akter is an outstanding teacher. She explains everything in detail so its easy to follow. Her assignments and labs are all group work except for the homework. Her study guides are on point and the exact same questions come on the test. Her class is easy if you do the work and i recommend it.
She is not bad teacher. Pretty much if you do the work she signs and study the study guide you will be ok.
Just study the study guides and you'll do well on each test.
She knows the information very well however she is sometimes a bit hard to understand her due to her accent. If you don't know the answer to a question she will often make you feel stupid in front of the class. If you do the study guides before each test, you will do very well.
Dr. Alter is very knowledgeable and helpful. If you study, you will do great. She provides a study guides that are helpful as well.
Make sure you sit with a good group because a lot of the assignments are group projects and papers outside of class plus group lab work. Study the study guides for her tests and you should pass each one. Pay attention and don't use your phone during class because she will kick you out. If you don't know an answer she will poke fun at you.
She was a very good instructor, just be sure to study hard and focus. Otherwise, you will fall behind.
When you take this class, make sure you sit with people who you think will work hard during the semester, because there is a lot of class work. Also, make sure you look at the study guides she gives before tests if you want to do well. She may be a strict professor, but she is knowledgeable of the material and will answer any questions you have.
Dr. Akter is a nice instructor! She expects hard work, but is willing to help anyone understand. Make sure you choose a table with classmates that are willing to work with you, because group activities are frequent. Go to class, study her study guides, and do your work! This class is not impossible.
Could be clearer on rubrics for labs.
I loved Akter, and her accent cracked me up all semester. It made it tough for some people to understand her, but if you get a clue from the textbook before her lectures, you'll do just fine. Tests are easy, just go over the study guide she gives you (which is basically most of the test) and pay attention to the labs. Not as tough as she sounds.
Dr. Akter is always there to assist students. The course is challenging but very manageable if you put in the work. This class really boosted my confidence in a science laboratory.
Loved her enthusiasm for the subject, as well as her engagement with the class and willingness to answer questions. It's a demanding class with a small project as well as a paper and presentation, but definitely manageable. Just stay current on your reading. I'm more comfortable with lab work now thanks to her. Recommended-unless you're a slacker.
The lecture is very good, however the tests, and labs are often on material that's not covered in lecture. I found Dr. Akter to be a good teacher, she just needs to work on making it clear what she's looking for when it comes to labs because often times the class wasn't clear on the assignment was.
All in all Dr. Akter is a nice person and is very intelligent. She can get a little upset if she asks the class questions and no one answers. I did poorly because I didn't schedule time to study; I didn't look at the PowerPoint; didn't do the practice tests. Just reading the book won't do. This isn't a HS level class; she tests on the details.
You have to be prepared, study, and pay attention. Don't miss class or you will fall behind. If you are a slacker in any way, shape, or form this class is not for you. She did however clarify things in biology that I hadn't grasped yet. Easy to talk to and the labs were fun.
She started out really nice and happy, but she got irritated when we had questions. As long as you study the practice tests you will pass the class. Very lenient with grading when the whole class has a tough time on a specific questionsection on the test. Very sweet woman once you get on her good side. Very strict on attendance and no cell use
This is class is everything you give it and everything you don't. Professor Akter provides everything you need to succeed in the class. Canceled classes are not an excuse not be be up to date on what is going on within the class. This class is for students who are ready to be adults and not babied into an A.
I was nervous about taking microbiology but I have been successful in this class. As long as you pay attention and take notes and study the practice test that she gives you you'll pass! The labs are always fun and useful.
Dr. Akter is happy to answer multiple questions and explain real world applications of the topics. Because Microbiology is challenging, reading the textbook and a deliberate effort are required to succeed. To help students, Dr. Akter provides them with ungraded practice tests. Many of the practice questions make it onto the real exams.
Dr. Akter is very knowledgeable and has high expectations! However, she is a great resource and is there for any questions you have. She gives you all of the information you need to be successful for tests and labs. Expect to do a lab a week with partners and lose a lot of points if you miss a lab!
Do the work and you can get an A.
I felt that some of the remarks she made at the beginning of the course were a little demeaning and it made me a little hesitant about asking questions. She realized her mistake and apologized to the class. It was smoothing sailing after that. We all have bad days because we all are human. No one is perfect. I would take another one of her classes
I feel she is a good teacher, as far as lectures goes she makes things clear. If something is not clear speak up and she will clarify or help you. Homework such as the history of Microbiology, it was a bit unclear what she want. Showing an example of what she wanted, would have been good. Her test are tough but, she gives you great study guides.
Dr. Akter is very sweet and willing to help, but sometimes gets irritated if there are too many questions. She wants her students to do well and provides resources to help you succeed. The labs were sometimes confusing and really could be organized better. She is passionate about the material and really tries to make it interesting.
Overall Dr. Akter is a very good professor; she is very passionate about her work and is always there for the students if they need her help. Class is mandatory and you can't miss more than 3 lectures. Tests are easy if you take the time to study her practice tests for each chapter. She is sometimes funny and makes the class enjoyable.
Dr. Akter wants you to do well, so she's very helpful and gives you a chance to be clear on the material, many chances actually. She gives the classroom life with her jokes. She's very knowledgeable about BIO so it makes it easy for her to get you both on the same page. If you want a teacher that will work with you, she's the way to go.
Knows her subject very well. And overall a great teacher. If your into Biology and microbiology you will learn a lot with her. Has a heavy accent and is difficult to understand. Very tough class, but she is very helpful with her practice tests.
she is a great teacher. lectures are long but very clear and to the point. she gives test guides and if you study it you will definitely get an A.
We were warned from day 1 that the hybrid course would be a lot of work on our end outside of class. It was refreshing to not have to listen to a 3 hour lecture but, instead, use the class time for labs.
Dr. Akter expects a lot of work from her students but if you do the work you can do well. She is very helpful and wants everyone to succeed. Attendance is very important and so is being serious about class - no side talking, no cell phones.
8 Week hybrid class. You go to class for the labs and tests only
The class was tough since it was a hybrid course but my teacher was always ready to help us get the highest grades.
Bio isn't my best/fave subject I took this course in eight weeks (it was/is hard) but Prof. Akertp works with the students and provide materials to help us get though the course without killing ourselves. She is a very fair, reasonable, helpful and super funny (dry humor) teacher. Loved her so much I am taking the 2nd eight weeks of bio with her!
Dr. Akter is one of the best professor I have had class with so far. Bio is a difficult subject but she really assists with anything you need. She really helped me when I was having a difficult semester. I'm taking her class for Bio 102 as well. She a great pick if you need Bio as a requirement as I did.
Great teacher, Highly recommended!
Really fun teacher, respected by the class but also enjoys a good laugh and an interactive class.
I love her so much I took both bio 101/102 with Dr. Akterp. Dr. Akterp is very fair and only wants success for all of her students. She always ready to teach answer question and will stay as long as you need her help. Bio is a terribly difficult topic, but with her as a teacher you are promised to pass and even learn.
Great professor, sometimes unclear but is available for clarification by text. Many test questions come from assignments which helps.
Nice teacher, normal work load
Geat proffesor!
She is one of my favorite professors!!! I love everything about her and she is extremely funny.
Lab attendance is important
Dr. Akter is a great teacher! She will help you the best she can. Look at the power points, start assignments early, try your hardest and enjoy the material. :) I took the hybrid 8 week course with a full course load and work- its possible! Good Luck!
Since I took the hybrid course, most of the work was online. The assignments really help you during the tests, and reading the chapters. If you do those two things the class will be bearable, but you have to put in the work. Professor Akter was there to help if you had any questions. She's also not afraid to test your knowledge of the subject.
8wk hybrid course was a lot of work but not as much as anticipated for the amount of material covered in such a short course making it very do-able as long as you stay on top of assignments, post & pre labs,&good attendance. Is sometimes a little unclear, not in teaching material more so w/instructions,but willing to try & fix misunderstanding
Great professor! Explains things very well, and is very easy to talk to. Answers emails very quick, and updates blackboard really often. Long homework assignments, but most of the test questions are based off the homework assignments.
Really good teacher! Gives you a lot of homework and it is based on completion so it really helps your grade. She is a really great teacher and would recommend her! You do have to work for your grade and show up for every class because if not you will get behind.
I didn't do so well in Bio last semester and am taking it again with Dr. Akter. It is incredible how well I am doing in her class now. For sure take her class if you do not like Bio!
Dr. Akter has been a great professor! She is very caring towards her students and honestly wants you to succeed. I took her 8 week hybrid class. It was tough but if you keep up with the work and give it your best you'll do great! I am signed up to take her 8 week BIO 102 right after the 101! Would highly suggest! :)
Dr. Atkter is a very fair professor. She is there when you need her, if you have any questions she is very willing to help you out.
I took BIO 101 as an 8 week course, so I expected it to be challenging. There was a lot of material to cover, but Dr. Akter provides an organized schedule that makes the class easier to complete and understand. She is an overall great teacher! :)
Mrs. Akter is very helpful and comes with a great personality and happy attitude. She wants the best for all her students and will do everything she can do to help her students pass but in the end, the harder you work the better the grade you will receive.
I took her 8 week class I was really worried because i hate bio. Dr.A really wants you to succeed. Honestly labs are super easy. If you truly put in the time and effort she will help you with the rest. Its not an easy A but she is willing to help you if you are willing to try .
She is a good teacher. She will work hard to try and get you to understand but she expects hard work from you in return. You CANT slack off and expect to pass this class.
Be ready for alot of work
her tests are hard but if you study you should be fine.
I took Dr. Akter's 8 week hybrid class. Attendance is mandatory if you want to pass. The course material is covered at a fast but manageable pace. You will have to set aside time in order to do well - especially for tests. Dr. Akter is a very knowledgeable professor who wants her students to succeed and provides all the tools to do so.
Attendance is mandatory unless your ok with failing. Each class has a lab but its fairly easy if you pay attention. Dont use your phone or she will freak out. When in doubt laugh with her jokes and always be ready for the claas.
Dr. Akter was a very Charming professor. She comes into class each and every day giving 120% into her lectures and labs. Extremely interactive with her students and she has an outstandingly well formed sense of humor. However she is very serious about what she does so you need to take her class seriously. Thankfully she is also very kind.
Extremely difficult class. Definitely the fault of the class design rather than the professor though. Professor is very helpful and you can tell she really cares about teaching. Use the online study area if you want to pass!
Dr. Akter was a great professor. She explained the material very well. The only issue that I really had was learning all the material in a short amount of time, due to the course being only 8 weeks long instead of 16. Because of the course's short duration , much of the material had to be learned at home without a teacher.
Good Professor, lot's of work
Took the hybrid course it is not an easy class if you don't like to read and do a lot of work. All class days are lab days so you're basically teaching yourself at home. She does offer personal help when not in class over the phone or email. Attendance is crucial to passing. Study for all the test. Seriously there hard. Overall a great professor.
Dr. Akter is a very good teacher because she helps you actually learn the material. The course itself isn't very hard to follow. As long as you complete the work assigned for each week and study for the tests it shouldn't be hard to get a good grade.
I highly recommend Dr. Akter for the biology courses that she teaches.
Overall she's good. You definitely need to show up EVERY class, and she tolerates no cell phones or even small chit chat. Course information is not always clear and sometimes just for fun she might throw in a pop quiz before a lab.
I took her 8 week hybrid class for Bio 102. Overall it is a manageable class, but you MUST go to class and complete the assignments on time. It can be hard to know what to study for the tests, but she will usually help you if you ask. I would recommend this class if you are a focused student. Lectures are online; labs are in class.
Dr. Akter is a great teacher and knows her information very well. She is always willing to help and if you ask for them she could give you study guides for the test.
I took Dr. Atkers 8 week class, and it was very fast pace, however is very doable. DO MASTERING BIOLOGY, give full effort on pre/ post labs, and you have do just fine! A little unclear on what she wants, and you have to ask a lot of questions. Overall great class.
Dr. Akter is such a great professor I took her for BIO101 and knew I had to take her for BIO102 the class is tough I'm not going to lie but as long as you show up and do the work you will pass with an A! You have to be willing to work and want the grade you want! She very helpful I love her!
Dr. Akter is a wonderful professor! She is very caring towards her students and sincerely wants you to do well. She gives you her personal number and is quick to help you with anything you might need. Attend class, pay attention, and keep up with assignments and BB. You'll love her and do great! She also gives amazing study guides!
She's a great professor! Very funny and knows a lot about what she teaches. I would definitely take her as a professor again!
Great professor that is invested in her student success. I took a condensed course with her, it has been one of the toughest classes I have taken but Akter does a very great job a creating a fun, engaging learning environment.
This professor is really fun she knows what she is talking about and you will learn something from the course. If you complete all the assignments you cannot get less than a B. I recommend you take her over any other bio professor.
If your taking Professor Akter 8 week class be prepared to work! Assignments must be completed on time, no excuses.
Dr. Akter is a great professor. You will learn a lot if you attend class. Attending class is a must! I highly recommend Dr. Akter for Bio102 online and in class. If you have questions and or concerns, she will be there to answer you thoroughly.
Great teacher. Honest and helpful. Gives you all the material necessary to succeed in course.
Great Class, not one to take just for an easy A though. Must be willing to complete all classwork and homework
Dr. Akter is always here when you need her, but she is not consistent with the assignments due dates and everything else.
Dr. Akter is a very friendly teacher, her lectures however a bit tough to follow. Exams weigh your grade heavily and they are not easy by any means. This class will challenge your time management and it may test your patience as it did mine.
She is a very considerate teacher. However unorganized so if you will most likely be confused most of the time. Overall as long as you understand what u need done you will pass.
A lot of home work!! And u can't re-do any of the questions that u get wrong. For the discussion board, say u have 8 discussions for the whole 8week session if u missed 1 out of 8 and did not do any of ur replying to ur classmates u will get a zero as a whole discussion even if u did the 7 left! She is nice but her rules are horrible!
Great teacher. I took a hybrid 8 week bio101, so there was nothing easy about this class itself. She did her best to make sure her students succeeded.
Her tests are very hard. She gives to much homework (mastering bio), she will say 80 to 70% of the tests will come from HW, but actually only about 30% will come from there.
The hardest teacher I have ever seen. Her tests are very very hard no one can pass . She treats her students in a very bad way . Don't take with her if you want to pass
The hybrid class goes by fast and there's a lot to learn at home.
Professor Akter is from Bangladesh and she can be very hard to understand. I do not recommend taking her class for the hybrid eight-week class. If you are a person who likes very detailed notes and lectures like I do you will have a difficult time in the class. Her lectures are very broad and they are little info sessions before the labs.
I took her 8 week Bio 101 class. It is work and very difficult. She is a nice professor and tries to accommodate to her students. The class itself wasn't awful, but there was a lot to do and learn before the frequent test. I would say take her full semester class, but not te 8 week course.
The hybrid 8 week class itself was quite difficult there is not much time for the instructor to help you. We spent the class time working on labs and the rest is up to you. If there are concepts you don't understand it will be very difficult to get good grades on the test. If you are self-reliant and can teach yourself quite easily then your fine.
The hybrid 8 week class itself is difficult, a majority of the material is self taught. Class time is spent working on labs. It is very difficult to get good grades on the test. Do not miss any classes and do not use your phone in her classroom.
Shes a really good teacher but if you dont care and you dont pay attention then you will definitely fail.
Prof. Akter is a very nice teacher who knows how to motivate students. She is very helpful and caring. However the hybrid 8 week class itself is difficult, and most of the material is self taught. You must do your own work to get a good grade.
Wonderful prof. Caring but very strict. Cell phone is a BIG NO in her class
Disorganized Blackboard, caring professor that leaves communication very open. Her hybrid course is tough though. Hardest I've ever taken, you will find it hard to pass if you skip.
If you do all the work the class is easy. It is a class that requires a lot of outside work
Dr. Akter really cares about her class. If you need help she will work with you to explain the issue in more detail. Labs are very informative and interesting. Dr. Akter is a very good professor and i will definitely take her class again.
Dr. Atkar is a good professor but she does not give each student enough individual time. I do understand that this course is hybrid.
Nice teacher, but a tad confusing at times. Multiple Lots of details for the online lectures. Tests can be hard and require good understanding of material. It being online means that you have to be good at studying by yourself. Due to the amount of material and difficulty, I suggest taking a in-class class.
She is an easy teacher, however she can be unorganized. The tests are the best and most helpful things in the class. As long as you do your work you should be alright. Do not miss any class, each class is a certain amount of points.
Tests are hard but she is a caring teacher
One of my favorite professors so far.
She's good at giving good reviews right before Exams. That really helps out a lot.
Shes greaaattttt
She's a good teacher overall
Dr. Aktar is a amazing woman. She makes it very clear she cares about her students and their success. If you don't understand something in her lecture, no matter how silly, she will make you fully understand the topic without feeling lost or ashamed. Her lectures are very easy to pay attention to and her labs are very fun and super simple.
Thanks for listening
Pro active teacher
Straightforward
This professor really cares about her students and is always making sure we are where we need to be in class.
Overall a good teacher but expect a lot of studying.
Very good professor, after the class you are prepared for test/exams. I will take again, approachable and nice.
Good teacher! Does review every class to get the information to stick in your brain! Tests arent too hard.
Get ready for those 3 hour lectures, folks.. Her english is also quite spotty, and it can be difficult to understand her at times. She also struggles to answer your questions. With tests, she expects a specific answer, and if you don't give her that, you'll get a big fat 0 marked down on that question. Tests are along and fairly difficult.
Dr. Atker overall is a good eacher. However you will have homework for the class. Homework really being the sstudy guides. But these are really benefitical for class and are quite similar to the actual test. I'd also try to get s much review timme with her as you can to make sure you understand all topics.
This class is really hard, but that's to be expected given the nature of the subject matter. Dr. Akter is very understanding and does her best to help you do well in the class. Study hard and you'll do just fine.
Great professor, accessible for questions outside of class as well as during office hours. Though the course requires a lot of studying, the professor provides good feedback.
She's great
very hard class
Dr. Akter is a very good teacher who really shows that she cares about her students.
She does well with the reviews to prepare us for exams. Everything she says is actually on the exam.
She is very good professor i will take again.
Doctor Akter is a true professional. Make no mistake you will work and this class is no picnic. However, she prepares you for your exams and if you study the material she provides for you, passing the class is inevitable.
Professor Akter was tough but fair. She shows you how the science work but you are responsible for learning the answers. Overall she is a great instructor.
Very good
Highly recommend taking her class! Best professor I have yet! She truly cares about ALL of her students, and really understands the material. I wouldn't even consider taking Biology with any other professor. Tons of extra credit points, and test are straight to the point. Right after your test she will meet with you and discuss about the test.
gives study guides that have the same questions that are tested
I have never had a professor like Dr. Akter. Dr. Akter cares about your success and goes out of her way to make sure you are able to achieve the grade you wish to achieve for the course. I would definitely take her again for another course. A true gem indeed!
very good teacher the only thing was some of the answers on study guide would be wrong so double check. also the tests are hard you have to type in the blank and make sure to spell it right . Overall class is good just make sure to study.
shes great
gives helpful study guides
Professor Akter was an amazing professor. By far, this has been the most interesting class I've taken at Jtcc. Her method of using class interaction and response to come to a solution to a problem was engaging and informative.
Great professor, who really cares about her students and Biology. You will learn something from this class, and as long as you do what she tells you, you will earn a good grade.
Overall was really helpful and gave us chances to improve our grade even when it wasn't her duty to do so.
Dr. Akter is very determined for all her students to pass. She will work with you to help you pass the class. She is very understanding and will let you re do homework or find ways to help you get the credit you need. All the tests were based off of study guides she gave out which made the tests pretty easy.
Half my semester high easy A. Realist professor.
Professor Akter is a solid biology teacher when wanting to obtain the basic biology credit and information. Each week, we do 3 hours of lecture(boring) and a lab with a pre and post lab assignment. The work is very manageable and the study guides/worksheets for each test are helpful. Overall easy A/B class as long as you complete the information.
Good experience in the class, but if you don't pay attention to lecture you won't do well.
She is really willing to help inside and outside of class. She wants you to understand what is going on in class so that you can prepare for the test. This class is easy if you actually put in the work needed and pay attention in class with lectures
Dr. Akter gives lectures based off from the weekly slides for each chapter. She will stop in the middle of class to explain a concept to you and welcomes questions. Participation is important in this class especially for the labs. Deadlines are important but she will work with you if it is necessary. Dr. Akter also has a good sense of humor.
Dr. Akter was very helpful inside and outside the classroom. She's very willing to help you. She ask questions during lecture that will be in the exams and provides you with worksheets that work as study guides thats very helpful.
Dr. Akter is a wonderful teacher, who gives intelligent lectures that are chocked full of useful information for the exams. She is caring about her students and is accessible outside the classroom. Dr Akter is always quick to respond to emails and answer whatever questions you might have. Her tests always have study guides!
Dr. Akter makes sure that everyone understands the lesson before moving on. Gives students individual attention and help. She has excellent study guides and gives an accurate syllabus.
Dr. Akter is by far my favorite professor I have had at John Tyler. You can tell she truly cares about her students success. Even though the class is long she makes the subject interesting by telling of her personal experiences and making jokes. You have to work for your grade but she will do all she can to help you understand and pass the course.
Dr. Akter is the best. She makes the class and lectures fun and interesting. As long as you pay attention, show up to class, and do all of your assignments. You can earn an A in her class. Simple work.
Decent amount of work. Nothing more than you would expect for a 4 Credit Class. However she allows for multiple attempts for just about everything except tests. On the tests though she gave us study guides on 4 of 5 and we were allowed notes for the other 1. For the Labs we only actually did 3-4 of them and for the rest we worked together.
Dr. Akter is a very smart woman, and she definitely knows what she is talking about. The class is very lecture heavy, and it can be boring at times. Dr. Akter cares so much about her students, and is very understanding and accommodating if you ever have questions. She wants everyone to do well, and it shows!
Professor Akter is awesome!
This was probably the easiest biology class I have taken thus far. Every study guide is point blank to what is going to be on the test and she makes sure you understand what she is teaching before she moves onto the next topic. She is also very understanding, just pay attention and show up!
As long as you do what your supposed to in her class, follow the labs and do your homework, you'll be just fine. Shes a great teacher and if you pay attention and put a little effort into the class, you'll do just fine!
This was a hybrid class for me, so the course was packed with a lot of work. If you work a lot, youll need to make a lot of time for a class like this. But she is willing to work with you. Shes very sweet.
Professor Akter is a very respectable, caring and overall great professor. Unless you literally do nothing in the class, you can easily get an A just by showing up, and doing the work, that's it. You have pre-labs (hw), labs, post-labs (hw), lectures, and exams. MAIN THING IS- STUDY THE STUDY GUIDES. The tests will be JUST like them!!
nice, fairly easy, had study guides just take it it will work out.
Professor Akter is a charismatic teacher who would go beyond to see her students be successful in class. Her class lectures are very helpful, and specific to the material that we need to know. It is highly recommendable studying her lecture slides and study guides for the test, she is willing open for all questions you have without any hesitation.
Dr. Akter is very knowledgable in anything biology, the problem is she has trouble communicating to the students. There is a clear language barrier on some things and broken english most of the lecture. She tends to read right from the powerpoint, but she does elaborate every now and again. However, she does give very good study tools for tests.
Difficult subject, information covered briefly in class, but professor was responsive to questions and requests for review.
Dr. Akter is a sweet professor that actually takes the time out of her day to make sure students have what they need. At the end of the semester she wrote us letters and that shows me she is more than just a professor. There are a lot of assignments that can boost your grade as well, and she is very understanding.
Expect to study lots outside of class. Very lecture-heavy. Slack off? Won't pass. Quick response when emailed and very helpful when it's in her power. Expect 5 exams and lots of studying involved with each. A lab each week and a lot of work to pass the class, very pleasant teacher. I'd take her again when given the chance.
she clearly states things in the syllabus and follows it
Good teacher, the workload is not unbearable. Easy to get an A in the class just study for the test using study guides, and notes.
Shes a nice woman and a good teacher but you definitely need to study and read your chapters to stay on point. She has an accent that can be difficult to understand at times.
Shes is very organized and maintains clear knowledge of the lectures. Her lectures are straight forward, understandable and very useful for test. Professor Akter is very helpful as she makes sure her students succeed in her class. Test arent hard, and she provides a helpful study guide and worksheets to prepare you for success.
I loved Dr. Akters class! She made class fun and told great stories. If you want to learn Biology, shes worked at St. Judes and many other places so she knows what she is talking about! You wont regret her class.
Very well respected and knowledgeable on the topic but i often do not understand the material from just the lectures. Attendance policy is also tough.
I think Dr. Akter is a fantastic teacher with a well-structured class. I learned a lot from her, and have fun in my class while doing so. Coming to class is definitely a must because sometimes she explains things on the board that aren't directly in the lecture. Make sure to do the worksheets and the study guides especially and you'll do well!
Great Professor that wants you too pass and do well. If you are interested in this subject this professor is for you because she seems to genuinely enjoy teaching it. However, if you are in this class just for the credit than it will be more difficult for you. Gives great study guides that is crucial for passing the tests.
The professor is very organized and informative. The course will require efforts on a day to day basis and a lot of punctuality. The professor is pretty great at giving out good study materials for exams and tests. Her worksheets and study guides are phenomenal. Her lectures will be information heavy but you can get through it if you pay attention.
Dr. Akter puts her part in as a professor, while she does a great job, it doesn't mean that you don't also have to do your part. To know what to expect, read the syllabus and know that she rarely deviates from it. Due dates are important when it comes to homework/pre-labs/post-labs. There are 4 major tests and 1 final.
Very knowledgeable on the subject matter, but the way she lectures can be hard to follow. The tests are heavy, but she provides a study guide that keeps you well prepared. She is a pleasant professor, but unless you already have a sufficient knowledge of biology or a well versed study pattern, this class probably isn't the best option. STUDY HARD!!
If you are pursuing a degree where this class would be helpful/crucial, then I would recommend her. She is very knowledgeable on the subject and will explain in depth, if asked. HOWEVER, if you just need the credit, this class is quite difficult and typically demanding, to which I would not recommend her. HW is moderate; Exam grades are a MUST.
Dr. Akter's class was great even though I wasn't strong in Bio. In every test, she will give you the results and give you feedback on things that you can do to improve your grade and is willing to help you in many ways she can. Also, doing all the worksheets she provides will help you a lot in the test.
Dr. Akter is a very nice woman who actually cares and wants her students to pass. She will ask the class if the study guides that she assigns are working and useful., and give the students the tools they need to pass. She will not just give out easy grades, but as long as you pay attention to the lecture and study for the tests, you should be fine.
While I'm not a huge fan of biology as a subject, I really respect Dr. Akter. She's clearly very intelligent and knowledgeable about the subject. She provides pretty good feedback, and she really does her best to help her students (her study guides are invaluable). She's also quite accessible over email. Don't play around on your phone though!
Dr. Akter knows her material! Ask her anything and she is almost always going to answer and if she is not sure of it she will look it up and answer you during the following class. She is willing to help you move forward in your respective fields of interest. She makes class quite interesting.
Dr. Akter is very sweet and understanding, but she does not play around! Be open with communication and let her know if you don't understand something, she will help you in every way possible to make sure you understand the material! ASK QUESTIONS. She is very straight forward with her expectations, but fair! Definitely would take her class again!
Dr. Akter is nice. She is educated on the topic but can be unorganized at times. I would take her again if needed.
I loved professor Akter, I have taken Micro before and did awful. I'm usually an A/B student and got a D. In this class I have been able to maintain an A. It does require work as all classes do but micro is class that requires much more effort. She is very good at explaining complex things, she breaks it down for you. She does give reviews bf exams
Professor Akter is passionate about what she teaches and makes class interesting! Although she is HEAVY on lectures, her reviews are spot on to get an A on the exam. Go to class, participate in class and you will pass.
As a person, I found her very inspirational and driven. She is a very accomplished woman. As a professor, I had a very hard time with the language barrier as she is from Bangladesh. A lot of reading from the PowerPoint, but homework was not excessive( about 30-1 hour per homework assignment) and Labs were easy and quick. Also gives study guides!
Dr. A is great. She is obviously knowledgeable about the subject and likes to have feedback. She genuinely cares about how you are doing in the class and gives AMAZING study guides, but make sure you attend class or she wont be as generous with them.
She is very lecture heavy. She does do really good study guides for all her tests.
it was a summer course so lots of information in a short amount of time but she gives awesome study guides
outstanding teacher. You need to study to pass the course and she is very fair and great at teaching.
Dr Akter is a really good professor. I had a family emergency and she was really understanding about the whole situation. She can be a little hard to understand sometimes, but doesn't have a problem repeating herself to be understood. The tests are a little hard, but she gives study guides. This isn't an easy class, but she does try to help you.
I studied for hours for each test, even broke down her study guides with other students, and had a study group and still found this class extremely difficult. I struggled to maintain a B and knew of many students who dropped the class and 2 students went to the dean during the semester. She is very knowledgeable however too much for an intro course
Dr. Akter is a really nice person. I wish I had a chance to get to know her more outside of class because she seems like a really cool person. On the other hand, she basically just reads off the lecture during class and is not clear on what is on the tests. The test questions are very confusing and very difficult. Enjoyed the labs a lot though.
Lectures are very heavy and lengthy. She has an accent but understandable. Tests are extremely hard, but if you maintain a C on each one you will be fine.
Dr. Akter is a very thorough professor, her intent is for you to learn. There is a language barrier but she does not mind repeating or explaining anything for you. The homework level is average, it is no more than any other biology class I have taken. Her tests are difficult but she tells you what to study and if you do you will do well on them.
Tests are 100+ questions and they are specific. Every week a lab, and two homework assignments are due. Classes are three hours long, but she takes breaks about every hour. Pros: other grades help balance out your score Cons: Exams are weighed heavily still, but it is college.
You must study its not an easy A class she uses PowerPoint but its not always based on the test
LECTURE HEAVY! The lectures are just her reading off the slides, and telling you what's important. However what she says is important, isn't important. She is a very sweet lady, however her teaching methods did not work for me. There is a lab every class, split with lecture. She is very personable and genuine, but I do not think I would take again.
Dr. Akter is very passionate about what she does, meaning she doesn't hand you your grade for the course. It is a lot of work and very time consuming but if you need the course and our willing to learn giving you're best effort she will help you as best as she can. She's tough on the outside but I've come to learn she is a very kind professor.
I really enjoyed this class. I think Dr. Akter is an awesome professor, but this has been my hardest class! You will do well if you come to class, take notes and do the homework. I appreciated the study guides for the test. They helped a lot.
Tests cover a lot of material, but Dr. Akter will take the time to answer all questions related to the material.
Be ready to learn, the lectures can be heavy but she gives you a break and answer questions as you go. Stay on top of homework and you have to study for this class.
She cares for her students, but shes also hard on them. She makes us laugh and she keeps class interesting. Do the homework and study a lot and you should be just fine.
She is an amazing person who truly cares about teaching Bio 150. The content is tough but she tries to explain it in a a way you will understand. The lectures are long but she tries to keep it interesting and fun. Would highly recommend if you have the time to work hard.
Dr. Akter is a great teacher, she passionate about teaching. Her class isnt easy but she prepare her lectures well and will answer any question you may have.
She is very understanding and open to help if you are stuck.
Dr. Akter is a really sweet caring lady and she is willing to help you as long as you ask. Her tests are hard and she does give a lot of homework.
Dr. Akter is lecture heavy, but they are all very organized and easy to follow along with. My lab group and I decided that printing the lectures out and writing the extra info she was saying was the best way to keep up. She'll tell you what to highlight if it's important (sometimes it's not). Tests are hard & you have to study. But she does care!!
Dr. Akter is a very nice lady, I like her alot. As far as the class goes... the tests were very hard and not always presented the way it was in class during lecture. Even after studying everyday, it just seemed the tests were nowhere close to the powerpoints/lecture. Don't miss class, because there are many in class labs.
While I enjoyed the class content and the professor I felt like this class was a lot tougher than my Bio 142 class. Lectures and reading assignments were clear but the test did not come directly from the company who created the lectures and book. Tests were created by professor whose wording did not correlate with the lectures.
there is a lot of material to digest but if you do the assignments, come to class, read the chapters, then you should do well in class
Dr. Akter is very passionate about teaching and I found her to be funny. She has you do a lot of homework but it really helped me to learn the material. During lectures she will tell you what is very important so you have a good idea of what will be on the test. If you miss an assignment she will usually let you have more time. I liked the class
Dr. Akter is very helpful and cares about her students. She wants all of them to succeed and is always willing to help as long as you ask. There's lots of homework but it helps with learning the material. Since the class can be lecture heavy it helps that she is funny which makes the class more fun.
The class is hard, but she definitely does everything to try to help you learn. Great teacher
She is a nice instructor, she wants all her students to succeed in her class! She reviews material until everyone understands, and she does ask questions to make sure you're paying attention. Textbook and Lab book are required.
Very good teacher. Lecture heavy. Make sure to do the practice exams she posts, they help a lot with the exams
Second time taking a class from Dr. Akter. She is tough and the class is VERY lecture heavy but she is willing to help when you need. Practice tests are given before each test with questions taken directly from practice which is extremely helpful. Would take another class from her again!
While the class was mostly enjoyable, there were things that I found distasteful while in the class. First things first, I found that the slides and powerpoints were hardly engaging. Also, I found the preparation to be silly. The practice tests are all multiple choice, and the tests have elements of fill in the blank portions. I'm out of words.
Microbiology is challenging, but Dr Akter takes time to review. The labs are tough to figure out because the book doesnt match up with the lab number. Tests are tough, but she puts a few extra credit questions to help.
Her class is mostly organized. You may have trouble decoding her accent, but you get used to it with time. Knowing the material will help with figuring it out. She is caring and wants to help you succeed.
Power-points suck you don't learn anything. The questions she asks almost never make sense and the class is awfully organized. The testing dates or due dates are never consistent. There are absolutely no extra credit opportunities. She is kind of rude and won't drop any test scores. The best thing I can say is STAY AWAY FROM THE WORST BIO PROF EVER
Dr. Akter is very well educated in the topic of Microbiology. The class is a four credit class meaning you have both lecture and the lab portion of the class. Her accent can be hard at times to understand but after the first couple of weeks you will get used to it. The test are HARD so make sure you study and are well prepared. Test review helps!
Dr. Akter is extremely fair and her syllabus clearly states all of her expectations. Microbiology isn't an easy class so you have to study and apply what you learned in class along with her practice tests. She is hard to understand at first as English isn't her first language. She is well aware of this and is more than happy to repeat herself!
Dr. A genuinely cares for the success of her students. I went up to her a couple times throughout semester to ask a clarifying question and she is always willing to help. Lowest test is NOT dropped. Not much extra credit either. You will have hw, Learnsmarts and quizzes for each chapter ONLINE. Test 4 is take-home & can use notes. Would take again.
Lectures can feel long, but they aren't too bad since she gives breaks. If you aren't genuinely interested in microbiology you'll probably need to study a lot outside of class. Tests, labs, and assignments are fairly straightforward. She does reviews before each test which can help a bit if you need it.
Dr. Akter is such an amazing Professor! She gives honest feedback and has a sarcastic sense of humor so it makes class a lot of fun. She is very straight forward and gives excellent reviews before tests. She is always available after class to answer any questions and also is understanding when life crisis comes up. Highly recommend taking her class
Dr. Akter is an extremely fair professor. LS and homework are straightforward. Tests are challenging but she does post practice tests for each chapter which are great for studying. Good sense of humor which makes the class less miserable considering it is 3 hours long. Highly recommend taking her class!
Did a good job. there is about 5 assignments due each week. There is also a group project. The labs are creative and the teacher keeps the class going.
She's a great teacher, super sweet and pretty flexible. One problem I had with her was that some of the work/ projects in her class was unclear to me. She was vague on some of the assignments that she would give but if I actually went up and asked for specific instructions she would have been more than happy to explain so that was lazy on my part.
Great teacher, tests are pretty straightforward but I would prefer less homework.
Dr. Akter is a well respected professor. She cares very much for all her students, anything you do not understand she is always available and ready to help. She's hilarious and wants to make sure all her students succeed in her class but you also have to work for your grades. Study all the notes given, do the assignments on time and it's good!
Professor Akter is a good professor, her class is lecture heavy, she does make lecture funny, her accent is little heavy but is willing to repeat herself! For tests if you do the practice tests and she does do a review before tests, you will be fine. She is very understanding inside and out of class! She is willing to make sure you pass this class!
Dr. Akter is always making jokes. Lectures are long but you do get breaks. Chapters consist of LS and hw and quiz, all are helpful for test. Practice test provided, if you come to class and do the work you'll do fine. Willing to work with you, flexible. Labs were straightforward, she even did some for us which was nice of her.
Wishes for her students to succeed, be prepared for a lot of detailed notes. Missing class will make class even harder. Everything builds ontop of eachother, she is very caring for each student.
iwaited to take this class until the last possible semester before applying to Nursing School. I was terrified!!! This class turned out to be my FAVORITE class ever! Dr. Parvis is nothing short of amazing!! She will bend over backwards to help you in every possible way. She treats her students with respect and understand that life is complicated.
Bio 150 is a very time consuming class but Dr. Akter does her best to keep you on track with extra credit opportunities and being accessible outside of class. Be prepared for lots of homework and long test and heavy lecture. Dr. Akter also give great practice test before the test day and she tries not to keep us here for long.
Always takes notes during lecture. Ppt. of chapters are always posted in canvas. alot of learnsmarts are required. Participation in this class is a must especially in labs. Quizzes and exams are always online. She does reviews before the test if needed. come to class , pay attention, & you'll pass. extra credit is given at the end of semester.
I took the hybrid version of this course, where the lecture was online and the labs in-school. Dr. Akter was very funny, and I greatly enjoyed taking this class with her. Given that, it was tough, but managing time and assignments is everything.
Tests are pretty difficult but she is very lenient with allowing you to re-do certain assignments to improve your grade.
Dr. Akter is a really caring professor. This is the second time I've had to take this course and she was very helpful in improving my grade. Take her if you have the chance.
Dr. Akter is a good professor. She knows what she is doing. Bio 101 is a very hard class with a lot of homework, but she will do the best to help you.
She is very caring and helpful. She wants you to do well in her class.
Overall a very easy class, just review the material right before the tests and you will do fine
She is a wonderful teacher and knows her material and is very entertaining. However, make sure that you pay attention to her lectures as they are important for the tests. I also highly recommend taking the practice tests offered. They will help tremendously for the tests.
Dr Akter cares for her students and always showed up with positive energy. If you listen to her and do you work, you will pass. she is very helpful outside of class as well and does reviews and practice tests before exams. highly recommend her. We switched from in class to online due to coVid, and she was fair and very kind
Very good teacher, but be ready to do A LOT of studying
Study hard for the tests and don't be afraid to ask questions. This is a tough course but it is manageable if you review the syllabus and come prepared to class.
Dr. Akter always did her best to help me in this class. The lectures are very important for the tests and she will point out hints to which sections or objectives are most important. A good way to prepare and pass this class would be to stay caught up on chapters and studying and to heavily participate in all class discussions and assignments.
Dr. Akter definitely has a challenging class. Lectures are very long but very useful for homework and exams. She gives enough time to get homework, labs done. Exams are very tough due to so much information from slides. Other than that, her class was good, very helpful with labs and always there if you have any questions for her.
Shes a great professor. She likes feedback and conversation and she genuinely does care if you do too. Dont be afraid to ask questions if you dont understand because she is patient and will try to help you.
This was a hard class, but I did learn a lot. But I did have a few problems with the class. Labs often did not line up with the required lab book; we would tweak things or have to create our own result documents instead of using the book. That made labs somewhat confusing. Also, the assignments were more complicated than the textbook or PPTs.
Be prepare to do a lot of homework and studying. This course is tough and challenging. I suggest to not miss any of her classes because she moves on fast and cover most of the material in one day. Labs and test are super important. Make sure you study for upcoming test because they are tough and there are over 100 questions.
Make sure you study and take good notes. She goes through the powerpoint super fast.
Very caring and always happy to help.
Dr. Akter was a very nice teacher. Labs were a little out-of-the-norm, obviously because of COVID-19, but also because we rarely used the lab book that we had to purchase, and if we did use it we had to change instructions in the book. She was very responsive and communicable with students, but I wish test reviews were done more in depth.
Not THAT bad of a class but eh, im glad its over.
Professor Akter continuously taught us incorrect answers/material during the year and then when tested would say the answers were wrong. She may be better in her microbiology class but in biology I she was horrendous. Definitely choose a different professor if possible!
Professor Akter is by far the worst teacher I have taken yet. Her class got switched to online due to the COVID-19 pandemic but she refused to do any zoom sessions, check-ins with her students, and rarely replied to emails. Her accent is hard to understand and she is rude when students ask questions saying they don't understand a topic.
She was very organized and her tests were easy. I enjoyed this class even though it was all online. All you have to do is 4 tests and the homework labs.
Great professor. Really enjoyed the class even though it was online. She really cares for her students.
She is an amazing professor, This is my second time choosing her as my instructor. She always gives good feedback and is always understanding. I always learn something new from every chapter we go through. She also loves her job and very compassionate about it.
If you spend time on the reading homework and study the chapter quizzes and labs for the exams, you will be fine. The teacher is great and is really pretty funny. You can tell that she is very passionate about microbiology and she does her best to make the material make sense.
This was a short summer course so there were exams given every week and a decent amount of material to go through. That being said, Prof. Akter was great and made it easy to navigate through lessons. She's very understanding and seems like she genuinely wants you to succeed, so make sure to communicate any issues and ask questions.
By far the most unorganized, unprofessional professor I've ever had. She acts as though her class is the only class and assigns work as so. Labs are unorganized and confusing, and tests are heavily monitored and errorful. Homework is assigned last minute on weekends. No extra credit is offered. Avoid this professor if possible
I took this course over the summer and found it to be very straight forward. As long as you take notes and invest time into the class, I would argue that it is an easy A. Definitely listen to her review sessions if you want free test questions, and take notes from the textbook if you are lost on what to study. Great teacher for the summer!
Dr. Akter was a good professor. She makes study guides for the test which are really helpful and she alos does a test review. I found both of those things beneficial.
This was a tough class. I know microbiology isn't easy by any means but I feel like professor Akter made this class difficult. Her heavy accent made it hard to focus or follow along. She didn't review for the exams and she never really "taught" us anything. She just read from a PowerPoint. Her tests do not match what she taught they are super hard
Gives out work without telling students, leaving them to find it on their own. Uses monitoring software to make sure you're taking tests the way she wants them to be taken, something none of my other teachers did. Helpful and energetic, definitely cares about her students but monotonous teaching voice which makes lectures incredibly boring.
Her classes were too quick, unorganized, at the end she gives us a pop quiz. Then expects us to remember EVERYTHING we learned in the past 2-3 hours off the bat. Despite that, she's caring about her students and funny. (PS she has a heavy accent) Just be sure to take good notes, ask questions, invest time to study and do the homework.
Extremely fast class. You learn from a 100+ page slideshow that isn't backed up by the textbook and she expects you to memorize this info. Get ready to teach yourself! There is a big language barrier, she doesn't understand English and we don't understand her grammar and accent. She is very degrading when you don't understand. Made me cry a lot!
Professor Akter runs an organized class with straight forward and engaging lecture PowerPoints. They may seem long, but that is because she separates the slides to usually only have one concept per slide. She provides guidance during the labs. She proves herself to be a caring and dedicated professor.
This is a great professor, always ready with materials and prepared to answer any questions related to the course. Completed the syllabus on time and had enough time to review for the exams. She is inspirational, encourages group projects, and gives good feedback.
Full 3 hours of reading off the 60-100 slides. Goes too fast to take notes on everything. Gives too much information in one class period. She's nice and tries to be engaging but the class is mentally draining. She provides study guides and quizlets but they are too broad or useless on exams. Uses lockdown browser on exams, even if taken in person.
I struggled in her class at first, but once I figured it out it was a little smoother. Be prepared to spend a lot of time reading powerpoints, email her well in advance, and take LOTS of notes. Doctor Akter is very nice, however her study guides are lacking and I was often left feeling as though there were things on the test that weren't covered.
Dr. Akter is a very caring, funny and engaging professor. She knows that there is so much information to go over and that makes it harder to study for the tests. She gives you homework and post lab assignments and as long as you are trying your best on these assignments you can keep your grade up even without doing amazing on the tests. She's great
She tries to be engaging as a professor. She likes joking around with students and asks the class questions here and there. But she essentially reads off the PowerPoint for her lectures, and there were over 100 slides per class around the middle of the semester. She can also be a bit impatient when students ask questions.
Overall, I liked this professor. She is a nice person and quite caring. I more had a problem with the course as I found it quite difficult. To start the class was very lecture heavy and she did not explain the labs well at all. Also she read lecture slides way to quick. It was hard to take notes or capture any new information.
Dr. Akter's class was the main reason I switched from pursuing a nursing degree to biochemical research. She managed to condense 150+ page PowerPoints into digestible lectures while also being social and conversational, sharing her own experience with PhD research and publications. She set me on a path to be pursuing a PhD myself. Thanks Dr. Akter!
Professor Akter is very knowledgable in her field. I know from some of the stories she has shared with the class that she has worked hard in her life to gain the knowledge she has. I enjoyed her class very much and find her drive inspiring. She may come off as a little rough around the edges, but at the end of the day she is a great professor.
Dr. Akter is very knowledgeable about biology. The biggest challenge was being able to understand what she is saying. This made it difficult with an already complex subject like Biology.
Dr. Akter's accent can make her lectures and questions difficult to understand. She will also not be happy if a question is not answered correctly. She struggles with class participation. She may lose track of which assignments are posted and the class schedule. She cares, but I did not enjoy having her as a professor.
Proffessor Akter cares a lot about her students and class. She is very knowledgable about the subjects she teaches. The lectures are a lot to take in and her accent can make it kind of difficult to understand her sometimes.
Dr. Akter's class is manageable if you apply yourself. I found the tests confusing to prepare for, but she does provide you with most of the resources needed, you'll have to hunt around. As others have mentioned, her accent makes some words hard to understand. However, Dr. Akter is undoubtably one of the more involved professors I've taken here.
Ms. Akter is a fantastic biology teacher. She explains complex topics clearly and makes each lesson engaging and easy to follow. Her passion for teaching really shows, and she genuinely cares about her students' success. Thanks to her, I've gained a much better understanding and appreciation of biology.
Gave us our module 4 exam less than a week (four days) before the final exam...Struggles with scheduling to say the least. Can run off on a tangents about other topics quite often. Lots of reading off slides. It was a lot.
