They say if you can survive a summer math course, it's because you had a good instructor (even with the lousy book we have!). Sal is great! He's approachable, energetic, and very comfortable with the material.

Mr. Sales is hilarious! He makes learning a whiz. Always cracking jokes and makes you smile but keeps his class in line at the same time. Beware though, have your cell phones on vibrate or you'll be center of attention in this classroom!

He is FUNNY!! So funny that you don't even have a chance to fall asleep in class. If you think math is boring, take him. The tests are okay. Not very easy. But if you take good notes in class, you will do fine.

This class was pretty boring for me... It wasn't his fault, though, because he's a great teacher and a funny guy personally. In my opinion it's impossible to make statisitics fun, but Sales's class is as good as it gets. The class is pretty easy too, you don't need to memorize formulas or anything

Mr. Sales is an incredible teacher who cares for his students. You have a balanced chance for passing his class. You are evaulated and receive points for homework, lab assignments, quizzes and test so it's more fair. He is also funny,witty,very entertaining. He " enjoys teaching at it shows !

He is one totally awesome teacher.He's funny guy. He is also easy. doesn't put pressure on you and is helpful when you need help. He will do his best to help anyone in the class to understand the problem. His test are not hard. He basically get similiar problems that are just like your homework.

Easy class.. he'll review exactly what you need to know for each quiz/test. Great sense of humor, even though stats is pretty boring.

If you can't handle jokes then don't take his class. Mr. Sales is pretty funny and tries to make things intresting. His class is clear cut. Tells you what to do,and when to do it. Doesn't stick to syllabus. So if you miss class find out what you missed.

He's hella funny!Im the kind of ppl that just DON'T get math, but I got a HIGH A(98%) in his class.He's very helpful and tests are easy. no HW.Took him in summer and actually did enjoy it very very much.just make sure that you understand the material every day b4 you get out the classroom nd u'll be fine!

Mr. Sales makes algebra fun! I got an A in his class. He's pretty thorough with his lessons and is always willing to answer any questions. Take his class if you want to learn step-by-step. He's one of the best algebra teachers at DA.

He is AWESOME! He keeps the class interested in learning what can be a very boring or tedious subject. He is very clear in his explanations and will explain the same concept in different ways if that is what is needed. Very approachable. Great teacher!!

i hate math and suck at it but i somehow got a B without too much effort. the labs are pretty easy. the book sucks. all you really need is the last few pages of charts, try to just photocopy them and dont waste money on the textbook. 4hr class goes by fast. funny guy. during labs hes willing to help u a lot. end of quarter doesnt take roll much

What they say is true. His exams are easy, and he is real funny. But the textbook, written by one of DeAnza instructors, totally sucks. Very hard to understand. One of the worst books I've ever encountered. Don't worry though. I stopped reading that crap during the quarter, but i still got an A. Study with his study guide, and you'll be fine.

Awesome, awesome, awesome teacher! He takes the time to explain everything and is very funny. I would really enjoy taking another class that he teaches.

I highly recomment Prof. Sales. His lectures were clear and understandable and was always very helpful. He seemed genuinely interested in making sure his students understood the subject and did well. Class was never dull. A very enjoyable fellow!

I feel that Prof. Sales is a good instructor, likeable, and a fair grader. If you decide to take his class you should be prepared to STUDY 2 or 3 times as much as you would for any other class - it’s not easy. If you have good study habits you’ll be fine. The tests can be tough and the final is brutal, but all in all you learn a lot.

this guy is FUNNY AS HELL!!! he made me laugh every class. the material isn't easy, but Sales instructs in a way that makes it easier. he respects his students by remembering everyones name. lowest quiz n test dropped. fair grader. he's always there to help no matter what. any question u got, he'll do his best to help u.

Mr. Sales is excellent at teaching stats. None of his tests or quizzes were surprising (tho the final was a lil different). The book is useless, all you need for this class is to pay attention to his lectures (he makes a genuine attempt to keep you awake) and to follow his study guide. Nothing else is needed, highly recommended. DON'T SKIP CLASS! his lectures are so much easier than trying to understand that crappy book

easy class if you go for class, reccomend going for labs as they are crucial. he does have a sense of humor and is rather lienient with marking if he knows you come for class. sometimes overlooks certain wrong answers in your quizzes. make sure you understand what he talks about just before the quiz or exam. very similar to what actually comes out.

Easy A. Got an A with no hard work at all. Hez got a great sense of humor which makes the lessons fun. Attend the lessons, hand in all the works/labs and try to pay attention in class, and u will get an A. 5 quizzes and 4 tests, the lowest ones are dropped. All of them r straight forward and easy. HIGHLY recommended.

Great Instructor. EASY A - just show up every class and do all the lab work and computer problems. Made class entertaining & interesting. Never used the textbook. Has his own workbook with everything you need for the course. Very Helpful to students that don't ask the same questions over and over again. Accent made be a little difficult for some...

Sales tries to make class interesting by joking around with the students. Make the class go by faster. Take this class if you want to do Math homework on the computer, this is Enable Math. You have to by the book which is about $100 bucks just for the stupid code. Teacher is good, Enable math not good.

If you have a hard time remembering all the trig formulas like me, then his class is not the class for you. He doesnt let you use notes on the tests. HW is ok....not too hard

Very funny. If math is not your best subject, he is your man! If he taught all of the math I needed I would follow him around every quater! The only suggestion is, DON'T take Enable Math! It sucks!

Mr. Sales is awesome! I took Algebra 3 times and dropped out until I took his class. I finally understand it! Enable Math is wonderful because it forces you to do your homework and repetition is the only way to learn Math! It also helps that Mr. Sales is extremely funny and I will admit I have a crush on him!!

He is a great teacher. His humor and random jokes makes his class really enjoyable. provides thorough explanations and answers all questions. his tests/quizes are basic, and he drops the lowest one of each.

Attend both labs he is extremely helpful and has fun with the class.

Gets his point across, listens to the questions being asked and answers them. Spends time going over extremely difficult pieces. Helps out tremendously while in the lab. Very funny, knowledgeable, likeable guy!

Wow. The best math teacher i have had. He is one funny mother effer. Soooo funny. haha if you want a real world teacher, take him. he teaches part time at de anza, full time at mitty high school. i am so glad i decided to take this class, almost didnt. class is kind of face paced and a lot of work, but he goes through it so that it's understanding.

I came into this class scared to death because I heard stats is a killer. Sales was kinda intimidating at first but I am very happy that I didn't drop. He is so funny that it makes class past by fast. I even anticipate going to his class and it was a night class. He's awesome! if you can, take him!!

Professor Sales is an awesome guy. He's hilarious and always tries to lighten up the mood of the class. I hate Math but managed to get an A in the class. He always does review sessions before tests and quizzes so make sure you ask any questions to be able to do them. They are very similar to the real tests and quiz questions. Do not call him Borat

Has a cool sense of humor and makes Math kind of fun. He tries to use "lingo" and it's hilarious. I hate Math and have a hard time with it and he really helped out. I suggest sitting toward the front, going to all the labs (you can leave early after he takes attendance), and do the homework in enable math. You'll do fine...

He's one of the best math teachers I've ever had. Great sense of humor and is always willing to help and answer questions. Never a dull moment in class. He does a lot of repetition which helps the material stick. He goes over exactly whats on the test and doesn't pull crazy tricks. I wish I could take him for all my math classes.

Professor Sales is great. He goes a little fast sometimes, but if you ask him to repeat something he will do it (several times if necessary) without giving you an attitude. Just make sure to show up for class and pay attention. He's very patient and the lectures are never boring thanks to his fun and easygoing personality. Definitely recommended!

I added to this class in the second week and I am SOOO glad I did. He is funny and teaches things in a way that I find really easy to understand. NO textbook was required for my class. Just a $25 dollar fee to enablemath and thats where we do all of our homework. I highly recommend this professor. And yes he does allow calcs on quizzes and tests

Teaches too fast. Makes way too many jokes throughout the class. You go to school to learn, not to laugh all period. I know this sounds ridiculous, but it gets annoying quickly. Makes fun of students a lot. Rude to students. Had him for 212 and am taking 10 with him now, and he teaches too quickly in this one as well. Easy C but will not prepare

Absolutley hilarious! Teaches a class that people should alreadly have taken in the past, yet extremley helpful with clairifcation questions. Easy to get a good grade if you do all the work, makes math class entertaining and simple to understand. Revamp your math skills with a good sense of humor, avoid if over sensitive to jokes/childish in class.

Best math teach I have ever had. I am miserable at math but his instruction made perfect sense. I had him over Summer and it was still good even though the pace was quicker. Grading is fair but the final looks somewhat different from the quizes and tests.

Took Sales over the summer. Was expecting a very tough class. Did stats before and regardless of who teaches it, it's a tough class. Prof. Sales stripped down all the crazy stuff and taught the basics. He was very clear on his lectures. Finals was a little harder than the rest of his exams though. Awesome sense of humor. Highly recommend him

He is a very good teacher. He explains everything, and don't be afraid to ask him questions. His personality is a bit weird at times, but that doesn't stop him from teaching! Overall a very well rounded teacher and learned a lot from him.

He is one of the greatest Math teachers I ever had, he explains the subject and problems very easily and gives a very good notes in class, I received an A+ and really enjoyed the class, I took two courses with Mr. Sales and highly recommend him to everyone.

I hate math; it really grinds me gear. I was also never really good at it because it got so bored of it very quickly. Sales knows how to add the spice if you are like me. Take him if you failed miserably in your previews math course. Just my two cents.

He goes very fast and I would NOT recommend this class unless you have a very strong understanding of what was taught in 210. 5 quizzes, 4 tests and a final. No text book required, just enablemath website access.

He is a very great professor, He as a good humor in class but jokes around a lot which is a down side. The only problem I had is the Online program EnableMath. Tests and quizzes are straight from the homework, Even shows you 2 or 3 problems from the test to practice.

EXTREMELY likable and fun. However, class moves very fast (by necessity with the quarter system), and you must take initiative and get into the book and excellent course materials (lots of online videos and tutorials) on your own. He works with individuals in a lab, but class time is more for clarification than teaching.

Sales is a great professor! He has weekly quizzes/tests, but they're usually very easy as long as you pay attention. He updates grades after every exam so you know where you're at. Funny guy, entertaining class. His class is a little fast-paced, but he's patient if you have to ask questions so that's not a problem. Would definitely recommend.

I've never had a good math teacher and he was the first. Best math teacher, he makes sure you understand everything and even goes through problems before taking a test or quiz. He's hilarious and seems rude at first but really is always joking around. Loved this professor and would recommend him to others.

I withdrew from the same math class twice with different professors. Professor Sales was AWESOME though and because of his teachings, I passed. I was actually happy to go a math class! Just do the homework (won't pass if you don't) and study the material. I also went to tutoring at the tutoring center as well as with Professor Sales. I recommend.

He's super funny and really easy. Show up to class listen to him crack jokes and teach and you'll pass. He doesn't really give out EC but he's lenient with grading and his inclass work is exactly like the test. He gives good study guides and is easy to listen to. TAKE HIM

I loved his class! His class kind of feels like a high school math class. He doesn't go off a textbook but instead goes off a bunch of worksheets that he created for each lesson. The worksheets and his teaching was very easy to understand and he is a very easy to talk to person. If you pay attention in class and practice doing hw, you can get an A.

Professor Sales has a really clear method for teaching statistics. He is engaging and makes funny comments and jokes during lectures. He explains the material well and uses a packet of worksheets as opposed to a textbook. He will answer any questions you have and is not long winded in lectures.

I took him for intro to statistics, and I highly recommend taking him for an easy A in the class. He explained the concepts clear and concise. His exams were easy and straightforward. He also had us do labs in class which were not difficult at all. He is a funny professor and is sorta intimidating at first, but he is really nice.

Professor Sales is one of the best professors I have ever had. I took Intro to Stats as a summer course and everything was clear and straight forward. Even though it was fast-paced, his explanations were easy to understand. He is also very funny at times and will crack a few jokes here and there for fun. I recommend him if you want to pass.

Professor Sales was one of my first teachers at De Anza and I loved his class. He does go a bit fast but he is super on top of things, chill, will always take questions, he is a pretty fair grader, and he is super funny. Highly recommend his class. And for online he really has it down. Only downside is he doesn't accept late work.

Took the asynchronous course. 7 lecture videos, 12 labs, 5 homeworks, 2 quizzes and 2 tests along with 1 final. As long as you watch the lectures, content is pretty straightforward and should be an easy course. He grades super easily and the lab and homework assignments are essentially just completion. If you put some effort, should be an easy A

Professor Sales made a subject I've struggled with for decades seem very accessible. He is hilarious, and makes everyone feel in on the joke. I wish he taught more classes because I would enroll in all of them. He's clear and concise, and willing to answer questions, don't miss class and you'll make it through.

He made statistics very understandable for me and my class; condensed a lot of reading from a statistics textbook into notes we could fill in ourselves while following along his lectures. He may be intimidating at first, but he is good-spirited and relatively easy to get along with! 10/10 recommend

Professor Sales has a really engaging teaching style. He makes the material accessible and is always willing to answer questions. The worksheets are super helpful, and using resources like ChatGPT and unstuck study for study prep definitely paid off.

Super easy class, there are 4 homework assignments and the tests/final are the same problems but different wording/numbers. There are labs (not long) due before the start of almost every class and late work results in a zero which can be annoying. Most of the time class ends early and not much material is taught.

Class was not difficult, professor was very chill and funny. As long as you do the homework and the lab that are assigned you will pretty much get a good grade on the test. Tests have similar questions from homework.

Sales is one of the greatest professors I have ever had in my academic career. This guy is the funniest, most clever and clear guy I've ever had to experience. He will explain what you've gotten wrong in hw, give you an A and simply expect you to do better next time. He will do everything in his power to help you understand the material, the BEST

I love this guy, the best like a father to me taught me everything I know. He taught me how to use a calculator inspuredme to reach for greater things. Nice and optimistic very understanding, gave me time to work and catch up. Inspired me to take math further.
