Kaur has a very strong accent.. some parts of her lecture were very hard to understand even though she knew the material.. the clarity wasnt all that good. her grading is also very terrible.. meaning DIFFICULT! however if you suck up to her, she'll give you a couple points..think about it before
Her class was a blast cause all me and my friend did was joke aroudn in class until she got mad and we got more serious, but it was still halarious. Oh yeah, her class is pretty difficult if you never took any type of econ class before, luckily I had.
She is very clear and helpful, her test are very easy if you study, and she even goes through it before the test. And she interacts with us a lot and keep us involved. We all like her so much that half of the class is going to take her again next semester.
I took Kaur's online class. It's so much easier and beats having to sit through class with Phillips!! Be active, email her & ask questions. Quizzes are pretty much open book. Midterm & final are LONNNG...80 freakin multiple choice questions and 2 essays, but is based directly from the quizzes. I recommend her online course! Don't take PHILLIPS!
This class is supper boring! its hard to undrstand her, but shes funny. Her voice is funnny! but she seems like a good teacher
Dont take this class! Boring. She always rants on how you (the student) doesn't love economics as much as she does. On top of that, you have to purchase and use an online resource that does not help and gives you many headaches trying to use. I am sure there are other classes out there instead of this one.
Her tests are pretty difficult, but luckily our tests were open book, but for the people taking her next semester, don't get your hopes up, she says she's not going to be doing anymore open book tests. She's pretty harsh when it comes to grading homework too, but randomly likes to give extra credit if you're in class.
Her test are very hard, her teachings aren't that easy to follow. NOT AN EASY GRADE. I learn i few thing here and there but the class was difficult eventhough she let use the book during test...she will not let next sem. courses use the test. Hard at grading homework, extra credit point (sometimes) if your atteding class. NOT AN EASY CLASS.
Excellent teaching
Excellent Teacher
She's a wonderful teacher, extremly helpful & the class is fun u don't feel the time passing. I don't mind her accent coz her dictation is very clear
likes to read her own reviews in class!
She is a good teacher. If you ever need help she will answer questions without making you feel dumb. If you do the myeconlab quizzes and practice the problems they will be on the exams, so study using that site. If you read the chapters before class it will be a breeze if not you got to take notes which might be a little confusing.
This is the absolute worst teacher I have ever had! She is terrible! she has a really high annoying voice which hurts your ears and is very confusing! DO NOT! I REPEAT DO NOT TAKE HER! UNLESS YOU WANT TO FAIL.
This professor is my obstacle to getting into a good college. She says things one day and and totally disregards it the next day. i.e. extra credit. This teacher is a dictator and does not take in student consideration at all. seriously do not take this professor. even if its the last class available.
19chapers,2chp per lesson, almost. 3tests,40pts each, homework has to be matched her concepts, online quizes are mandatory for each chp.before tests, all counts into the test pts,she is too quick & not clear in her thought and in teaching. No sleeping, chewing gum, phone ring,no sound and no word at all.She is an real Asian teacher.Take Mr.Harmon best
Teacher is cool. really helpful if you ask her a question. Bring your homework in early and she'll fix it for you and give you full credit, real easy if you work at it.
she's boring, and her lectures keep having the UP! and then dooooown wave in it. I thought it was pretty stupid. She's in a trance whenver she's lecturing, if u interrupt her, she'll suddenly forget what she was saying. No offense to her, that's unprofessional. oh, and she epxects you to READ a lot.. so be careful. no connection to student much
It was definitely my fault for failing. She gives you all the material, she's a good teacher that you can definitely come to for help. Don't complain, it IS a college level class, and it is expected that you do the work. The only reason to fail is pure laziness.. which is what happened to me.
I took Microeconomics online. She is very responsive if you need help on anything or if you don't understand a concept. It was a little difficult since I'm not an economist and I prefer going to lectures. My only complaint for this class is the homework since she grades harshly, so go to office hours and get help. Other than that, I did well.
Unless your familiar with macroeconomics, do not take this class. Take it if you are down to bury your face in a textbook and lose your social life.
Her class is fairly simple and straightforward: take notes during class, ask questions, and read your textbook and you should be able to receive a good grade. The downfall of many students in this class is not paying attention during her lectures. Her lectures outline just about everything that's going to be found on the tests. PAY ATTENTION!
Good teacher, helpful, but hard. This is a class, you read, you learn, you take notes, you do well. simple as that. Great teacher is you want to learn, bad teacher if you're lazy and just want to have a clown for a teacher. Good class, but a lot of work. take her, you'll learn something
TEACHER WAS HORRIBLE..USES ALOT FROM THE TEXT AND NOTES ARE USELESS..I DID NOT LEARN FROM HER.I DO NOT RECOMMEND HER TO ANYONE..
terrible. i was taking the online class and probably had 2 of the worst anxiety attacks in my life. this is my third year at cypress 3rd online course and it is safe to say that this is the worst teacher. does NOT care or help. ew. take ANYONE else.
I don't see why she has such a bad rating. I took her MacroEcon class this year and she practically gives the answers to her test. She makes sure to answer all her students questions and even gives bonus points on her tests. She is also very helpful if you go to her during her office hours. I would highly recommend her!
Prof. Sidhu is the best professor I ever had. She is really friendly and helpful to her students. You could tell that she really knows what she is doing. Her class is easy as long as you are focused. She is really nice!!
Don't let these other comments scare you away! Sidhu makes a big effort to get her students to pass! I missed a C by 10 points & that was purely my fault for not doing the HW. Attendance is mandatory, she gives quizes which r free points, & she will help you with the HW if you ask. Also, ask for 3x5 CHEAT CARDS on tests & she will let you! Take her
Im taking her 100H class, the class is not hard. She gives out study guides and quizzes online to prepare you for the test. It should be easy if u just do them and the study guide online. Must pay attention during class. Sometimes index cards can be used for tests. TAKE HER CLASS :)
Love her! Just come to class, read the book for tests, do the quizzes&hw, and you should have an A. Fair grader and lets you have cheat cards for some tests. Very nice, cheery, and motherly :). you can tell she really loves her subject. Has a slight accent but I understood her no problem.
This online course was difficult in that though the instructor was available and did respond to my emails, she was very curt and impersonal. I often felt like I was doing something wrong, like I was foolish for asking the questions I did. Assignments are well laid out. Open book tests are hard. Her questions do not come directly from the book.
I love her. She is the best teacher that I have ever had. she is willing to help u if u need. very very nice
Great professor!!! She is nice, helpful, and really funny. I enjoyed this class so much. There were 19 online quizzes, 4 tests, 4 homework, and 1 final. Just study the quizzes and worksheets, you will be fine. Need help? Feel free to ask her, she's really helpful.
She's a great teacher, always try her best to help if someone is lost. The course is very well laid out but you need to do your job because it is not easy.
I love this professor. She is very helpful and has very good knowledge. I will take her other classes. She supports the students and always give them one more chance.
Very nice professor. She wanted you to be on time and to listen to her lectures. They were on the boring side, but hey its economics..... She had almost no homework. Pay attention and do well on the quizzes and tests and you will do fine.
Professor was pretty chill. The class overall was a bit difficult but she makes your life a lot easier. Reviews EVERYTHING on the test the day before and lets you use a cheat card if the whole class agrees to it. If you are struggling, she is always there to help you out. Gave us extra credit and barely any homework. Skim the book and study. Easy A
THE BEST TEACHER IN CYPRESS!! She's pretty chill, very considerate and willing to help you on every of ur doubts. Review EVERYTHING before each test and final. The class structure is excellent. A MUST-TAKE teacher!!!!!!!!!!!
NOT an easy class to get an A on. However, she does make a whole lot better by reviewing for each test & giving a note card for the exam. Grades homework PRETTY HARD. Having said that, don't think you'll receive an A on the homework by spending 30min - 1 hour on it. I'd recommend going to her office hours, so that she could give you feedback on HW.
She's a very helpful teacher, but does not seem very clear on certain topics. Her examples are usually confusing, so it will be very hard to get an A without going to office hours. One thing I especially didn't like about her is that she moved up every single test to an earlier date. She wasn't very good at keeping up with her syllabus.
Sidhu is an underappreciated professor. She tries her best to teach a difficult subject but she can lose her temper and patience with an uninterested class. There aren't a lot of points available to earn in this class so if you mess up on a test your grade will suffer. She occasionally offers extra credit for being on-time to class and 1 or 2 open book exams if a class is struggling. She is the best Econ professor at Cypress.
One of the greatest professors. She will go out of her way to help you if you didn't understand the concept you are learning. Do your homework. If you don't understand the homework, still attempt it and go see her during her office hours and she will guide you in the right direction to get full credit. 4 tests and 4 homework assignments. Take her!
She's a great professor. She's really helpful and does a good job at explaining everything and helping you understand. You'll definitely learn a lot if you take her. There are four exams, four homeworks, quizzes online, and the final. It's not an easy class but not too difficult either. I highly recommend taking her.
Prof Sidhu is AWESOME. She goes out of her way to help all of her students out. The only time she will not help someone is if they are not putting any effort forward. If you do not put effort into school, do not waste her time. If you're willing to put the effort forward TAKE THIS CLASS. I will be taking her Econ 100H class next Fall
Just beware she gets mad at people who show up and are a corpse in her lectures, so come prepared by reading the chapter before hand. If you have a question about the homework and put the effort in she will always help you out. She is probably one of the best teachers I've had at Cypress College
I am not sure why the average of her grades are A, they are definitely not A's. Sidhu is a very kind, witty, funny professor, but I had so much trouble understanding her way of explaining coursework. I would rather have read through the book, it makes a lot more sense teaching yourself. She tends to get lost in her words and pauses awkwardly...
Expect to be on time for lectures and pay attention in class in order to do good on tests. Suggest taking notes instead of printing notes so you can remember the material. There is review section for every test to help. Quizzes & extra credits are online. If you need help on the homework, come during her office hours and there would be no problem.
Sidhu is AMAZING! Such a sweet & passionate teacher. GO TO HER OFFICE. She will correct your homework with you. Don't need the text book. Just take good notes and use ebook off my econ lab for hw. There are 4 tests 4 homeworks and a final. Tests are super easy as long as you pay attention in class which isn't difficult with her energy and humor.
This class is hard to get an A on the amount of hw and tests. I took this class online for the summer. It's about 2 to 3 quizzes and about 2 to 3 essay FRQs due every 3 days. Quizzes are basically free points, the only thing that will bring your grade up. The FRQ essays are hard. She grades extremely hard on them, she knows if you read or not.
Professor Sidhu is great. Of course, every professor and every class sucks. I mean, it's college and it's useless. But Sidhu makes it tolerable. She's very easygoing, but she's also determined to make her students do well. However, if you keep up with the online quizzes and put a little effort, you should be okay.
Sidhu was a tough professor. There are only 300 points you can earn in class and those 270 points are going to be tough. There is homework due on test days, and you are expected to write it in her economic level language. The only way to get a decent homework score is to visit the SI. If you enjoy doing lots of work, this is the class for you.
Very entertaining lady! Encourages students to participate but kind of makes you feel stupid if you answer incorrectly. Grades HW very hard. Not many points offered so every single point you miss will effect your grade. No extra credit. Tests are easy if you do ALL the quizzes, worksheets, and practice tests on MyLab. Use her Study Guide!
Can we all agree that 10:40AM class just witnessed something beautiful unfold today? Its absolutely strange and unfair that we live in a world where lazy/uninspiring teachers are blameless and passionate teachers like Professor Sidhu are often left unappreciated. 10/4, we need more educators like her in this world. Best teacher ever! :D
Take this class if you like listening to her read chapter by chapter right out of the book. Personally not the easiest way to learn this topic for me. Says we will all fail her tests so it is discouraging to even study. Upset I got stuck with her this semester for Econ (all other teachers were full) is very confusing and contradicts herself.
This was one of my favorite classes this semester, despite getting a C. She may seem strict and snobby at first, but she's really nice and makes Econ interesting. Ask questions if you don't understand, Take notes on her power points, and don't wait till last minute to study for her tests(my mistake). It's only 280 points, so do well on tests and hw
4 tests & 1 final exam are all multiple choices. 4 hw packages. She drops lowest test and hw. You only need 4 pages in the textbook in order to do hw, other than that textbook is useless. Doing quizzes and worksheets really helps to get an A. She looks scary at first but she's relly funny and not as strict as other profs. Helps you during the test
I took this course in summer and it was really difficult because it was a summer class , she is not easy. You must read!!!!! If you dont read the book you will not pass. She makes you work for the grade you want to get .
She is super strict and straight forward. This class is not an easy A, you have to work hard to earn your grade. Reading is MANDATORY, she also grades tough.
I think she is a great teacher. The test is very easy as long as you read the textbook and do Econlab worksheet. I am so glad I took her class because she is very thorough on her lectures. Econ might be boring to some people, but I enjoyed it. Drops lowest test and hw. Some open book tests. Just read the textbook and you will get an A.
First, she is a tough teacher no doubt about it. However, she is a professor who is very passionate about her work. If you do your work and show up to class you should pass with at least a B.
She'a must take professor. Sometimes, she looks scary but she's really really nice. If you're struggling with HW or lectures, just come to her office & ask for help. 4 exams, 4 hw, 1 research paper (extra credit- 10pts) and final (2 parts- 100 questions). Drop lowest score of homework & exam.
she seems tough, but thats only because she wants you to learn, not just pass her class. the class isn't easy but that not because of her but because its a tough subject. if you study for her test you will be fine
Her lecture notes are very helpful especially when she's giving lecture. She usually does a review before the test that are super helpful and gives you a study guide too. She tells you everything that's on the test and explains the material as well. I really enjoyed her class and feel I've learned a lot. Shes's also pretty funny and super nice!
This is not an easy class however, she really cares about your success in her class. The tests are not easy. you must read book and use her lectures. Do worksheets, communicate via email, if she has office hours go see her. She is very responsive to any questions you have. 4 tests, final, complete discussions for success the quizzes extra credit
Honestly a really hard class. There are 4 exams, one is dropped and one homework is also dropped. Her questions on the exams are very hard and tricky. If you take her prepare to study by yourself.
Miss Sidu is one of the best professors I have taken at Cypress College. I took her for Econ 100. She really knows her material and makes you fall in love with Economics. She engages in interesting conversation with her students and sometimes jokes with the class. She really cares about students just like a mother. Do your best & you'll pass
She is very strict and a hard grader. Very little points in the class and tests. Teaching style is awkward she tries hard to teach but her point is unclear at the end. She hated our class so much she told us that we were her least favorite class in all of her classes she had ever taught. I mean what kind of professor lets her students down likethat
Great professor! Her personality takes a while to get used to but she's nice, funny, and cares for her students. This is not an easy class but she gives great reviews and worksheets for students to study with.
Strict. She will lock the door at start time! I passed, but study study study! It takes time to get used to her accent but she is hilarious and blunt. I love it. DO THE EXTRA CREDIT essay!!! Man is she a tough grader but she did let use a note card on 2 of the exams. I would take her again.
I loved this teacher! She has a really funny and cool personality and cares about her students. The more the class participates, the more she usually likes the class and will therefore will likely let you guys use note cards, extend due dates, etc. She is also very passionate about Econ and makes the class overall enjoyable! Take her!
Tough course! But its possible to get an A if you work hard. Great professor though! And she truly cares about her students success. This is not easy course, you have to work hard. Stick to the study guides and do the worksheets. I would definitely take Professor Sidhu again :)
Took this professor for ECON100 too and I loved her! I'm actually really sad because it was my last semester with her. I love professor Sidhu for being the great professor she is. she makes you work hard for your goals. she is also very inspirational and treats her students like they are her own kids. Take professor Parwinder! you won't regret it!
She was a great professor and really cares about her students. She makes a lot of jokes and her examples are really good. I definitely take her again and will take her for micro Econ. Excellent professor.
She does cares about students but very strict grader. She locks the door right at the time and even if you are just a minute late, she will make you ashamed. She does not like yawning either. Lecture is okay. If you really, REALLY puts an effort and study hard, you will pass but it is not an easy class.
First of all, Sidhu cared for her students education & treat you like her own children. However, she can be strict, blunt, & pushed you to learn the materials. It is not a easy class. There are only 4 exams, 4 hws, 19 quizzes, & a final exam. Tips: Start to study & focus on all of the worksheets and lecture notes she provided to pass her class.
Prof. Sidhu teaches with passion which makes you fall in love with econ. Uses real life examples to help her students understand. She really cares for her students and goes above for them to pass. Her worksheet and quizzes are great tools to use to ace her test! Take advantage!! Teachers like are rare !
Professor Sidhu is a wonderful professor. She is a very passionate teacher, and a great one as well. If you show up to class, do the homework, do the practice questions, and read the powerpoints, this class should be relatively easy. Keep in mind all tests, homeworks, and quiz points are all weighted equally, so don't slack!
Took both Macro and Micro with her. Not a fan of the subject in general but she makes it interesting and gives plenty of real life examples. Not much homework. Youll do well if you keep up with the readings, follow along with the lectures, take notes during the reviews and ASK QUESTIONS. Shes super helpful if you just communicate with her.
she is very helpful but her class is super difficult, yet she makes it fun.
She is a good professor that cares about her students, however, she really wants you to master the subject and as a result grades pretty tough. The course also moves pretty quickly so if you are someone thats needs a lot of support and time to slow down I wouldnt recommend it. Overall I learned a lot and got an A so I cant complain to much.
Ooooh I like her bluntness so much! She is clear in grading, hilarious, and caring. Watch out if you are a conservative because she might lecture in a way that you have not yet been through. 20 quizzes every chapters, 4 exams every 5, and 2 finals with 10 each. Read the book to follow thru 'cuz class is too short for her to cover all the knowledge.
Prof. Sidhu is soooooo passionate and inspirational for ECON class. Lectures are available are always there ready for students to "digest" at home. She emphasizes the main point of a whole picture in U.S economy that inspire me to switch to Economics major. Be critical thinking, and read the book so you will not be behind. Exams need efforts
Prof. Sidhu is one of the best professors that I have had so far. She really cares for her students even if she claims that she doesn't. She knows how to teach the class and also is always willing to answer any questions that you have. Her exams are hard, so you need to study the homework and quiz questions over and over with her study materials.
Prof. Sidhu is one of the best. She cares for the students and allows you to ask questions whenever you don't understand the material. You need to work for the class and study the material every night so that you are able to pass her exams. She also uses her homework and quiz questions again, so make sure to always review them! I will rlly miss her
I took Econ 100 online. prof. Sidhu is tough grading on discussion, also you should submit on Turnitin. you will have a study guide for the exam but useless, 45 ques for 1 hour only. 4 difficult exam, and 2 cumulative finals.
An amazing professor, she makes it easy to follow along lectures. Makes sure she is clear and understood. Final, 4 tests, 4 homeworks, and an extra credit essay. 1 homework and 1 test get dropped. Econ is not my strong suit, yet I got an A.
She was honestly amazing, of course you have to study a lot to get the grade you want but her lectures were amazing and she actually tries her best to give us examples that make more sense to us. She is a tough grader, but you shouldn't be blaming her for a bad grade because it's the level of work you put in that matters, I ended up with an A!
Professor Sidhu is such a great professor! Instead of just giving the material to the students, she will really explain it throughout and connects it to real world situations. Although her tests are a little challenging, you will learn 100 times more in this class than other econ classes! She really cares for her students, so take her class
Professor knows her material. Her classes are interesting and the lectures are solid. She is also always available to help any struggling students. Very nice lady and will take her class again.
Absolutely terrible professor. She does not care about students doing well in her class, and grades very biased. She literally gives you bad marks for opinion questions. Do not take this professor, you will not do well.
Professor Sidhu is the best! I took her for both Micro and Macro, and I learned the most from these classes. Tough grader, but a great professor. She cares about your grade if you care about your grade. She cares about you and makes sure you are okay. Would totally take her again if I had to!
Great professor! 4 exams (1 is usually open book), 4 hw, extra credit research paper, and 2 part final. She drops the lowest exam and hw score. Honestly, if you are having a hard time with hw, just go to her office hours and she will be happy to help. Intimidating at first, but she is actually really nice and caring.
I honestly don't know why the ratings for Professor Sidhu are bad. This is an Economics class, of course you will have to study alot more in order to receive a good grade for her exams and final. She literally goes over some parts of the lecture that we need to pay extra attention to as well. I got an A, I studied alot but she is a great professor.
The class itself is easy, also she's devoted to her students and lecture. But she's not clear on what she wants in the home work and extra credit. She grades hard on those but doesn't give you much feedback. Also she will never or slow in responding your email. She also talks really fast, and give you a ton of info, which is confusing.
Dr. Sidhu is knowledgable and her lectures are full of information, and applies her teachings to current world issues regarding economics. She is caring for students and responds fast. She drops the lowest test and 1 homework. Economics is not easy, but Dr. Sidhu teaches in way that allowed me to understand easier.
Don't take her online course. If you must take her, do the in-person course. If you choose the online course be prepared to teach yourself exclusively out of the textbook as it does a better job of explaining concepts. Her study guides are not very indicative of what is on the test, you're better off reviewing ALL of the material.
Dr. Sidhu is a professor who rambles on and on about one topic for too long that makes you lose interest in whatever she it talking about. I would not take her again if I had to. Economics is already such a boring and tedious class that I thought she would be the best choice, but I'm afraid not. She mumbles a lot and gets side tracked too.
SELF-TAUGHT!!! The average grade of the essay was D for the whole class which is assigned every week. I got 0 one time out of 8 points which I spent almost 5, 6 hours. I wouldn't say it was A paper but 0? Are you kidding me? 0 is for the people that didn't turn in anything. I am an A student but escaped with a B. Professor my grade for you is F!
Test heavy. 6 tests 300 questions. 50 questions in 70 minutes. 24 short writings. Be careful. Youre easily loose points. Maybe only 60% after you spent 3-6 hours. I wont take her class again if I can. Good luck.
Tough grader and her recorded lectures are not that helpful.
This is the only professor who is the most demanding when it comes to grading Content Questions which a textbook is a must, and the discussions it can be difficult sometimes. Accusing us of plagiarizing a discussion or content question, gotten 0.5 out of 6 on content question you are kidding me, and this is the last time I am taking her.
You would need to read the textbook really carefully for content questions. Discussions questions are very thought-provoking. I learned a lot of things about econ from her class. She grades fast and responds to email fast. She is kind, and she is caring for students. My favorite professor.
I have never met a professor that was so inconsiderate. If you have any technical errors, it will automatically be your fault. Make sure you take screenshots of any errors to back your case up. Homework has little prompt but she grades hard with no feedback. Almost all quiz 'notes' can be found on quizlet and chegg. Goodluck if you take her...
Will NOT be taking her again, she is quite literally rude to students and has a large ego. I am only giving her 2 stars because I feel bad giving one. She grades really hard and gives little feedback. Once gave me a 5/10 on a homework and refused to budge when all I did wrong was not citing the textbook.
quite possibly the worst teacher I've ever had. All the reviews about her are true. She is inconsiderate and grades hard.
Very hard grader and no extra credit opportunity available. Content questions are very hard in her class and her grading method is really strict. Be prepared to study really hard if you want to get an A grade in her class.
Worst teacher I have taken at Cypress College. She takes points out of discussions and content questions with no reason, she never explains why. And when you try to email her to obtain an explanation she never answers.
Worst Professor at Cypress. Loves to degrade feedback and when asked for feedback she is very rude for no reason. She grades horribly and good luck on content response questions. She expects everything to be very specific. DONT TAKE THIS PROFESSOR!!!
I would NEVER take this class with this Professor again. Im constantly renegotiating my grades with them. Im constantly being scored .5/6 on assignments that are on topic and use required materials to aid in my response. Nothing is good enough.
This professor really made me feel so dumb, I could never get anything right, keep failing all my assignments and I reached out for help doesn't help me correctly. He's very confusing for some reason and only gives you 60 minutes for a 50 question test which is ridiculous.
Honestly, she wasn't the worst, but she was terrible at explaining her reasoning for grading and she grades pretty strictly. Don't expect too much feedback and it would probably be best to read the syllabus if you want to understand why her grading is the way it is. You need to follow her directions step by step or she will lower points.
shes awesome! shes really passionate in her lectures she genuinely cares for her students success, i took her in person and she lets us use the textbook if we want to, as long as you study for her class even if you are not a good test taker you should be able to pass with at least a C. make sure you do all the homeworks that will help yourgradealot
Prof Sidhu crams 20 chapters in 16 weeks. It can be hard and she may not explain econ as well as you'd like but if you are able to find a tutor or Youtube professor, it can be passed. She tends to go on tangents and will cram sometimes 3-4 chapter lectures within one classroom meeting.(85 minutes) There are 6 exams-4 on ch 1-20 & 2 are the finals.
Not a hard class, her lectures will cover everything you need to know for tests and lecture slides are posted so you can review them whenever. She listens to students, gives plenty of time for assignments, and is generous with cheat sheets and open books for tests. Use the chapter practice problems before taking quizzes/tests and you will pass.
Very easy class! Took as a summer/ online class and easily passed with an A. Be sure to thoroughly read the textbook for content questions and cite correctly. Extra credit points are given for well thought out answers. Discussion questions were thought provoking but easy to answer with some outside research. 10/10 would take this professor again.
This professor is by far one of my favorites. I have taken her ECON100C as well as ECON105C and passed both classes. She is a tough grader but all of the information needed to pass the class is provided both in the class as well as in the form of pre-recorded Zoom sessions that are uploaded into Canvas. 10/10, would recommend.
She's really passionate, but at the beginning of the year, she immediately advised us to drop out if we aren't passionate about Econ or disinterested. Lectures are fact paced, she doesn't grade on curves and exams (150 points total out of 4 exams) while the final exam was (100), the class average on the lower side.
i was consistently scoring low C's on tests but that was largely due to my own negligence to adequately giving myself time to study. You really have to do you own part as a student to pass this class and if you fail take it as a lesson learned. As tough as the tests are, this professor is very open to feedback and helping her students out.
Professor Sidhu is a very tough teacher, but she is honest and consistent about it. You must study the textbook as well as the Zoom recordings to be successful on her exams. Also make sure to take advantage of her extra credit opportunities and homework points. Overall, she has great intentions and is clearly very passionate about economics.
Professor Sidhu is not as strict and harsh as many students may think from the previous reviews. She was doing her best to help students succeed in her course and gave us a lot of extra credit to help. Don't expect this class to be easy. Watch her Zoom lectures and take detailed notes to study from. Take advantage of the practice quizzes.
Hard? Yes. Genuinely listens and inputs student feedback MIDsemester into her curriculum bc she ACC CARES? Yes. What professor does that?? If you're expecting an easy A, and complain later that u got a bad grade cuz U didn't grind then thats on you. But Prof. Sidhu is the most empathetic and str8 up Prof at Cypress. Amazing professor. DONT BE LAZY!
There is the opportunity to take practice quiz prior to weekly quiz but there are only 1-2 questions that are similar on the actual quiz. Good class if you want to be ECON major but not so much if you are just trying to "check off" the requirement.
Listen to the reviews and do not take this professor unless you are passionate about Economics. Her Zoom lectures are entirely useless, she will go on a tangent for 5 minutes on one single topic. She gives out weekly quizzes that are proctored, and every assignment is submitted using turnitin. Extremely strict and you will endure it badly.
DO NOT TAKE. Worst Econ class experience of my life, and I took this class twice already. Same results.
As a dedicated person to their studies, I was highly disappointed in Professor Dishu. I respect professors, but she was not helpful the entire semester. I studied regularly and committed more time than necessary to complete weekly assignments. In improving my grades and understanding the material she was unhelpful during her office hours.
Lectures are very fast paced and weekly proctored quizzes are pretty hard but she allows 3x5 cheat sheet. There r 4 homework assignments in total that are graded rlly strictly (go to office hour before submission, she'll go over it for you so you can get full points.) Final exam was VERY easy, super lenient on cheat sheet + gives out extra credit.
I really liked this class! At first you'd believe that Professor Sidhu runs this class like the navy but I think she's much more forgiving once the period to drop classes passes. You only hate the class if you don't like the topic or don't want to do work. The concepts are easy to understand and she simplifies them in her lecture perfectly.
This class was terrible. She is a harsh grader, so be sure to use other sources to understand the material since the textbook is basically spark notes. Lectures are hard to understand and prof goes off topic. Just studying the textbook and lecture won't help you pass exams or homework. Study guide was a joke for a 2 part cumulative final. DONT TAKE
She can be very disorganized but she clearly has a lot of passion for Econ. Her lectures though can be supbar due to her going off on tangents. I appreciate what she tries to do but it doesn't always pay off. There's a lot of hard material, so to fully understand everything I recommend watching the zoom recordings and reading the textbook fully!
Took her econ 100 and 105 class at the same time 15 minutes apart...never again. Just barely managed to pass the class I found the material difficult to understand. I took her last spring semester, I remember her saying she did not receive any help when she was a student so we also had to struggle. Just barely managed to pass both.
Professor Sidhu is clearly passionate about economics, but the class can be challenging. Engaging with the textbook, lecture recordings, and tools like Unstuck AI are key to success. Stay focused and take advantage of extra credit for the best chance at a good grade.
Read the book and understand the graphs for quizzes. Study the practice quizzes for the finals. You'll be fine if you work hard.
I took her Hybrid section of ECON ,which is was the way to go. Nice lady that knows what she is talking about. Generally in any class the lectures are boring so the other reviews regarding the lectures take with a grain of salt. Be prepared for multiple weekly test and qualitative response questions that are NOT EASY. Just be ready to WORK.
The course was very difficult to understand. When I was worried about my grade, the first option she gave me was to drop the class, and I had a C...
I took the online course of 100C and it was okay, but the Professor gave hardly any explanation. The textbook was practically our teach, and when multiple students emailed to say the material was confusing, she dismissed them. Also she uses lockdown browser for quizzes/tests and will not care if you have tech issues.
Horrible professor. She does not care about you. She purposefully gave me a specific grade on an assignment to make sure I don't pass with an A. There was no reason for that assignment to not be 100% compared to her rubric and other assignments. Petty. Unprofessional. Poor communication. Lectures were alright. NO RESPECT.
She's rude, gives confusing feedback, and has all these proctored quizzes that are very outdated. She has an attitude, so tread carefully when contacting her.
Genuinely the worst professor I have ever had. She has no clue what she is doing online, DO NOT TAKE ONLINE WITH HER. She punishes students for her incompetence. The lectures are long and hard to understand Zoom recordings, and the textbook link is sketchy with others' annotations already marking it all over. Very rude and unfair.
i think this professor might be decent in person seeing how the earlier reviews are, but the online micro econ class was very difficult. when i reached out to dr. sidu for feedback, she ignored me and got mad when i msg her and basically said she does not need to help me because the due date for it passed. but how can i learn if you dont teach...
Professor Sidhu has stated that she does not care if you fail or pass the class and that she only cares about her paycheck. She is a very lecture heavy person and you are graded mostly on your quizzes. If you want a good grade you need to watch lectures AND read every chapter in the book.
Gives plenty of opportunities to work on your grades. Plenty of feedback, listens to her class, and good banter. If you can't lock in and do the bare minimum then don't take her class.
I took this class 2 semesters ago, and I still think about it to this day. This class made me change majors. I went up to her after class one day and asked her for advice to pass the class because I wasn't doing good, she said "it is not too late to drop the class"... just save your money.
She teaches at a fast pace, which can make it hard to keep up at times. However, she is very knowledgeable and clearly knows the material well. She seems to be a believer in trickledown economics, which skews her lectures a little bit. Overall, she is a good professor.
