GREAT TEACHER! very clear and approachable.

Really nice teacher, clear in lectures, and does quite a bit of activities. This is one of the better teachers I have had.

Great teacher. Clear, concise, but our TA group isn't all that great. Class lectures are interesting and you watch video clips almost every class.

Hansen is a great teacher that is really clear and easy to understand. I suggest taking this class. She is really sweet and willing to help students. Most of her tests consist of is the vocab in the book. There really aren't any surprises.

Class is boring, don't believe what they tell you at SOAR. A waste of three units. BUT Pat Hansen is one of the best professor's I've seen. She makes the class fun and enjoyable, and will help you if you go to her office. She makes me want to try her psych class someday. Kind person - A++ for all.

Very fun class.I enjoyed the activities that we did in lecture and during small groups. She is extremely helpful, so it is easy to get a good grade in this class if you want it.

pat is one of the nicest professors i've had. she will always help, she really wants to see students do well and is a very easy grader... she tends to baby people in her class though and wasn't challenging at all, which i thought was frustrating but most other people seemed to like.

It was a really interesting class and Pat is a great teacher. She has a lot to say and she knows how to make things clear. Be ready for some essays, but ones that are interesting. The tests were hard but not to bad if you study. Not and easy A though... you have to work for it. Pat's a great lady though.

I took her for 306 because I liked he so much in 250. She's a great teacher! Some would say she gives a lot of work but it's her way to get us as much knowledge as she can find. She really likes telling people about the background of Psy. she's very entheuisiastic during class :)

great class! pat is very interesting and keeps the 3 hour lectures entertaining with examples, stories, and video clips. essays are every-other week and the weeks an essay isn't due, there is a quiz. somewhat easy if you take notes and do the reading!

Pat rocks! Not only is she very personable, but she makes somewhat boring material interesting. She takes risks by having her own style of teaching, while making everyone feel right at home in her class. She always has her door open, and is very understanding. I especially enjoyed Psych of women. It was a fun class with a fun professor!

Pat's wonderful! If you can, take a class with her. Her warm personality and relaxed yet informative style of teaching makes her class a pleasure for me. She takes student feedback into serious consideration and makes every effort to keep the class interesting for my classmates and I. And bonus, the workload and exams are very reasonable.

Enthusiastic with great energy. Nice variety of assignments (tests, research paper, personal essays). Easy to listen to, provides interesting in-class activities. Shows some boring videos, though.

Very informative, gives you a lot of information to learn, but it is all worth it. On exams you are able to choose which sections you want to complete, as long as it totals a hundred points, and she gives you ample time to prpare for the exams as well as a class before for review. Final is not cumalative.

This class splits between essays and quizzes. The essays are a piece of cake. You need to read to pass the quizzes. Lowest scores from each are dropped. The final was easy (I didn't even study!) and the TA groups are a nice break.

Pat Hansen is the best teacher I have had here at Sonoma State. She makes class interesting and we watch tons of videos that she ties in very well with what we are learning. I suggest everyone take a class from her.

SO EASY! her quizzes are straight from the sample quizzes in the back of the book (only multiple choice with a paragraph essay but she tells you what it is before) and the papers you have to write are all personal and require no thinking at all. lectures are boring as hell but you can just sleep through it.

I had her for psy 250 and I liked her, but it was a lot of lecturing. This class feels like she doesn't teach at all. It is always "get into groups and discuss this". Take her if you don't mind learning from the textbook. There is one big paper two small ones and a midterm and final. There is a lot to know.

She seems to really care about her students

Pat's an ok teacher.Her lectures are boring and we watched a lot of videos (that u couldn't hear) As long as u read the book, u'll be fine for tests. essays are easy and don't take much effort. although she takes attendence in class every once in awhile, its not really neccesary to alwaus be there.

Class is pretty lax, with some interesting videos. Group work helps learn the materials and group study sessions are optional. Plenty of time given between homework assignsments, quizs are tough unless you study the materials. Textbook was very clear as well.

Pat Hansen is a professor who is really interested in sharing her knowledge about psychology with her students. This class is not stressful, and the assignments are known from the beginning. Easy enough to get a high grade. I recommend taking her than the other intro to psych teachers.

I love this teacher. She is fun and you learn a whole lot from her. She responds to your e-mails really quickly. She is a great teacher who enjoys dancing. One of my favorite days was when she taught us a few dances. I definitely recommend taking Professor Hansen

This teacher was extremely nice and helpful. The class was interesting, but there is a lot of reading. Attendance is mandatory because a lot of test questions come from class discussions. At times, we did some fun activities.

Her expectations were very clear. The exams required serious studying, but the study guides were very helpful. She made the class interesting when it could have been mundane.

Interesting class. Test were kind of hard, but drops your lowest quiz score. She does a lot of in class assignments that you turn in as proof of attendance. Definatly a good class

prof. Hansen is quite a character, she is extremely laid back, and understanding. however i would characterize her teaching style as spora****. she does put in extra effort to make boring subjects somewhat interesting. you dont need to go to class but study really hard for her tests...these are hard!

Good, easy textbook, but tests are very hard. You have to know dozens of terms, names, publications. Class is casual and always interesting with films, group work, and activities, but when she lectures she goes way too fast. Grade is based on papers and exams, but she'll pass you if you attend class. Pat's nice and makes psy history interesting!

This class was very fun. There are several papers but they are not at all difficult or time consuming. You watch a lot of movies and do group activities.

She is a very nice lady and extremely passionate about psychology! Always willing to answer questions and give extra help.. Definitely my favorite class thus far. You have 6 quizzes, and lets you drop lowest one. She'll randomly take attendance, so make sure you go to a good majority of the classes. Very fun and interesting class.

Pat is the reason I am becoming a psych major. She makes the information easy to understand yet does it with a passion. She is extremely nice, very lenient with grading. Lots of video clips and interaction with the class to make material easy to understand.

Pat's an awesome lady and a great teacher. Very clear and does lots of fun in-class stuff to keep you interested. She really loves Psych and she tries as hard as she can to get her classes to love it too. Go to class and use the study guides she sends out for the quizzes you'll do well. The papers are mostly opinion-based, which was also nice.

BEST TEACHER EVER if you get her theres no way you cant pass. attendance is random but you can have someone sign you in if you dont go. only 4 papers to write and a few easy tests. i am such a slacker and i passed easily

Learned a lot! She's wonderful and supportive, and I liked her blend of lectures, films, and activities. Usually group work in college is a waste of time for serious students, but it works in Pat's class. For an A, you need to do well on exams and papers, and there's lots of info. Book is terrific by Schultz, get a great overview of psy!

She is very nice. Takes attendance almost every class but class is fun you mostly watch videos. Lots of quizzes and papers but they are fairly easy and she provides a study guide for all quizzes and the final. Also lots of opportunities to earn extra credit.

Professor Hansen is AWESOME! Highly recommend taking this class. She is a very fair teacher by sometimes pushing back quiz dates and when papers are due so students can have more time to complete them. Very interesting class, you learn a lot from her and the videos she shows you. This class is an easy high B or A!

Pat is one of nicest, warmest professors. It took me a while to find that out, but I still stop by to say hi. History of Modern Psych is not the most interesting topic and one of the required classes for psych majors, but she is very passionate about the material. I really enjoyed her class. She's also a great resource for advising.

GOOD class! There are 7 quizzes and only 5 are graded. There are pretty much all from the book but its an easy read. There are 4 papers each 2-3 pages long but they are also really easy topics. Take this class for a easy A!

This class is very easy! You watch many interesting movies and there really isn't any homework, just a couple of papers. She gives you a study guide of everything you need for the quizes. She is a very nice person

When people say this class is "easy" they mean that you know exactly what you have to do succeed and if you do it you will get an A. The syllabus and study guides are straightforward, there are no surprises on the quizzes, and the topics and videos are interesting. Other teachers could learn a lot from Pat about how to teach a class the right way.

Awesome class and Hansen is an awesome teacher. Just like other students have said, it is an easy class. It does require some effort, but the quizzes and essays are spaced out so you have more than enough time for each one. Very interesting class. I would still go even if attendance wasn't required.

Very clear with expectations. I learned a lot in this class and appreciated that she didn't dumb the class down to the low interest students. Not all that hard to get an A. I could have lived without some of the student presentation, but that's how she rolls

This class was cupcake. She understands that it is GE and not everyone cares for the subject. She is very understanding and seems compassionate about the subject! She watches a lot of videos in class. She drops the two lowest quiz scores and offers extra credit points. It is impossible to not get an A!

I took 250 and 306 with Pat. I think she is an amazing professor and I was able to learn a lot in both of her classes. I initially took 250 with another professor and did not do very well and almost gave up on psych. but then I retook it with Pat and she rekindled my interest so much I got an A and love psych!

Professor Hansen is an unbelievable teacher. I took 250 with her and it was an easy A. She kept class interesting and understood that psychology isn't everyone'c cup of tea. She has a fabulous sense of humor and overall is clear and helpful, just what a teacher should be. Her expectations are clear and the work is enjoyable. Take a class with her

Professor Hansen is very personable and is always willing to explain something you don't understand. She has awesome office hours and is super nice and easy to talk to and is always willing to help you out. As long as you go to class and do the (very little) homework you're good to go! =]

Great teacher, funny, helpful, etc. Showed a lot of movies to illustrate what she was talking about. Easy papers to write. Don;t even need an actual book just the online one. Study for quizzes and final. Final really easy if you studied, half of it was a crossword puzzle you did with friends.

Great teacher, very easy grading on written assignments. Midterm and seem daunting at first, but they turn out to be moderate and not that scary once you read the material.

Fantastic teacher! Very straight forward and delightful. Study guides are given for quizzes and finals. General positive attitude and does her best to get the subject taught well with powerpoints, videos, and demonstrations. She gives 5 essays that are very easy too, take this class!

the first couple classes i hated bc the material is incredibly dull bc i hate philosophy. but she's fair and really nice and i was able to discuss interesting things in response papers. HARD midterms so study all day the day before.

Pat is a wonderful teacher, she motivated me to change my major to psych. she is easy but you need to put forth your share of effort too. test are weekly, and attendance is very important, she does activites to test if you are there. papers are basically the only time you need your book to cite words from the text. Best teacher ive had.

Very nice, sweet woman who seems to know what she is talking about. Her class is very straight-forward and extremely easy to pass if you pay attention and study for the quizzes. The essays are basically mapped out for you. Overall, it's a very good introduction to psychology, and she is a very good professor.

Supppper easy class. Attend class, do the activities and put in time to do the essays. Which are about 2 pages long, not hard at all. The tests are basic if you pay attention and glance at the back. Not the most exciting lecture, but for an introductory course for Psych its good.

I went into her class with very little interest in the class.Pat made class very interesting(even though it's a very dull topic). You have to really study for the midterm and final in order to get a good grade. There's a 10pg paper you need to write in he class (didn't enjoy it at all)but that's the only homework she rellay gives. Pat is caring!

She is an amazing professor! She is so sweet and funny. I really enjoyed going to her class. It is an easy A, IF you go to class and study for the quizzes. It's also very fast paced, you usually have at least an essay or a quiz every week- so you have to go to class and stay on top of things. She shows a lot of very interesting films!

Class is really easy. It's a lecture so there is about 50+ in the room. Not a lot of personal interaction however the class is entertaining. Take it!

Pat is an interesting, organized, kind and caring teacher. If you're looking for a teacher to take which doesn't require studying, don't take her class. She is very helpful and will do all she can to ensure students understand and do well in her class.

She's pretty clear with what she wants and expects and is lenient with holding you to the last minute of class which was nice. Her tests don't have any tricks but how much you study notes and material will determine how you do. One big paper from a list of topics and a short response or two during the semester. Overall a pretty good class.

Pat is a great teacher; one of the best! Always smiles and seems to enjoy teaching. The hour and fifteen minutes of class go by fast as she has a lot going on. Videos, lecture, and an activity are all part of one class. Take this class with her!

Good Teacher. Easy to understand and helpful. Used mixed modalities for teaching; videos, lectures, group work, presentations, test and a paper. Well organized class.

Pat is such a genuine and kind professor. The course material wasn't all that exciting, but she did what should could to break up the monotony of a long course and make the information as palatable as possible. Assignments and exams were not especially hard, but did require some effort; definitely not a class you'll lose sleep over.

This class won't be a requirement for much longer, but she's really nice and helpful and has good power points. Doesn't take attendance and posts the slides online, so that's great. She's pretty chill, I don't know if she teaches anything else, but she's a great professor. I would take her if you have the chance to. Not too hard either.
