Great professor, the best I have ever had at UM. Clear, keeps our interest, goes beyond to assist students, uses a curve and grades are very fair. Uses groups during class and encourages open discussion.
Keyes is the man, class was relatively easy. Just study the slides and youll be fine. He curves the quizzes and 3 tests you take. The project and presentation is a big part of the class but not sure if its weighed enough for the class. Hes nice and wants you to learn and will help you as much as you need.
Great Professor! Very Very helpful! Very nice guy! I really recommend!
Really easy prof. Tests are hard but he curves a lot. Project is tough but he will help out a lot
He is awesome. Such a great guy. Really cares about his student. Will spend as much time as you need to help you. His tests are kinda hard ...but he curves. Project wasn't easy...but it wasn't bad. He is the kind of professor that respects students and will answer all questions. He's funny , but serious. Really nice.
Awesome teacher! actually one of the classes I looked forward to attending, even though it was a night class he wouldn't make you stay till the end. Tests were kind of tough, but if you pay attention and study the slide you will do fine. I would recommend him to everyone!
Prof Keyes is a nice guy. He will help you if you ask. He cracks funny jokes and actually puts forth effort. HOWEVER the material on the tests are minute details in the book. When he lectures its very easy to stare off into space because his voice is kind of monotone and the subject is boring. Avg first test grade from all of his classes was 70%
Great class, best prof I ever had
Keeps lectures as interesting as possible considering the topic. Always willing to meet even on weekends. VERY helpful. Definitely knows the material. Tests are tough but grades fairly on a curve. Loves students who participate.
Tests are tough, lots of list memorization you need to read the book and study the slides he hands out in class. He is a very fair grader and does do a curve. He will help you out if you ask for it. Overall a great professor.
His tests are extremely hard, but after the first one you know what to expect. The group project is annoying, but very beneficial to you learning more about project management.
Awesome professor!! Class is tough, but he is so helpful. If you stay after class he is down to help you with whatever you are struggling with. You do have to study for tests quite a bit! But overall, one of the best professors I have had! Definitely recommend!!!!
This is the best professor at U of M!!! I WISH I CAN TAKE EVERY CLASS WITH HIM. I really didnt understand why he had such a high score on the first days of class (he tries to scare you on the first days probably because his class is always wait listed) BUT take him. you wont regret it! but its a boring subject. hes just an awesome prof.
Class was interesting and he let us go early most of the time (I took a night class). You can tell the professor knows what he is talking about, and for the most part I enjoyed class discussions. I ended up with an A not too much homework, except for the group project.
Professor Keyes was the most helpful and wonderful professor I have had during my time here. He was there for you when you asked and really helped me move myself in the right direction. Make sure you work hard and ahead of time on the group project. Ask him as many questions as possible, he loves participation! There is a curve on final grades!
Keyes is a good professor. His lectures are pretty vague so you may want to read and study your notes as much as possible but he cares for his students and will help you if you ask. Very kind and helpful guy.
fun teacher. curves half a grade at the end of class. book NOT needed.
One of the best professors I've had. The class consists of 3 exams and the group project which goes on all semester. He also curves the whole class.
Best Professor EVER! take his class! His curve will make it worth it, just make sure you try. He grades you for effort and he gives extra credit. I would have access to one, or know someone willing to share it.
He is by far the best professor I have ever taken at the University. He respects his students, he helps as much as possible, and he is so kind and sweet. Tests are tough but if you really listen to his lectures and read, then you'll do fine. The group project will help your grade tremendously.
His tests and quizzes are really tough, but he curves so.. kinda weighs out. Group project is real easy. (PARTICIPATE!!) I got 0.5% in participation because i never raised my hand once but showed up to all classes. Dropped me from a B to a C.. He's the only one that teaches it so you have no choice. I never bought the book. Just pay attentio
I ABSOLUTELY LOVE THIS GUY! He's so sweet and funny. He actually does care if you give him the time of day. I always texted him if I needed help. At first, he seemed grumpy and sarcastic, but he is great if you're on his good side. The class project was OK, just get a good group. If any troubles, talk to him asap. The tests aren't horrible.
Great professor. Very nice to student. But the project is very tough. Talk to him as soon as possible when you have difficulty in the project. The project weighs a lot of the final grade.
Non of these reviews apply to this Prof, he is by fart the most unethical prof at UOM, you only get an A if he likes you, and you have to use your guessing skills on his exams. his study guides are not on the exam (only the 3rd one) and his questions are way too tricky, this class was a waste of time and effort.
Great Professor, probably the best at UMD. Really cares about the student's success. Takes personal time to hold study sessions to help us understand the concepts. Exams involved critical thinking so they can be difficult. I have used the materials in my Internship and really found the class valuable
Tough subject. Professor Keyes does a great job of making the class manageable, even during the shortened Summer semester. He cares so much about his students -- their comprehension, participation, and overall success. He's extremely kind and has a good sense of humor. My advice: READ the book, take notes in class, and really break down exam Q's!
Amazing professor at UMD. Material isn't easy and requires work. Plan to read a bit, but passing with an A isn't too hard. The main thing is to read the book and actually study. Many don't and fail or get poor grades because of it. Work hard and interact, you need to participate and not sit there like many do. I loved his style and lectures -WL
If you're really interested in PM, this is not the class you're looking for. The professor is way overrated, and I didn't understand what was the hype all about. Very disappointing but he's the only prof that teaches this Class
Prof Pat is really kind and respectful. However, not a good teacher, doesn't give feedback on exams or quizzes, his notes are misleading as he contradicts himself between one lecture and another, lectures are lengthy and the study guide isn't much of a help.
Take notes, study hard, participate participate participate and you still end up with a C. Professor Keyes is very kind, he breaks down the lectures and the exam Questions, only one problem, none of that is on the exam!!!!!! DO NOT TAKE !
I received a C in this class, and studied like crazy. It is a tough class. When I had questions I spoke with Prof Keyes and he was always there for me. I wish I would have asked much sooner. My advice - get to know him and ask for help. He is one of the few who TRULY care
AMAZING prof, incredibly helpful. I did get a good grade in the class, but definitely worked for it. The wonderful outcome was that I have done so much better in my internship because of BA320. Almost everything he lectured on and we did in the project applied to the real world.
He wrote his own book which is written wrong. For ex, in the same paragraph he contradicts himself twice & says the completely opposite thing. Another ex: he explains a prob correctly but has wrong answers written in the sentence but the right answers written in the forwrd pass tables. Forgets a lotExams r graded based on what he thinks at moment
Hes super nice and wants to help and really cares. His exams are really tough no matter how hard you study. I would still take his class even tough I am struggling because of the genuine person he is. Also i dont think he fails anyone, he passes everyone
Favorite professor ever. He wants everyone to do well in his class and he's very helpful as well. There are three exams, two quizzes, and a group project. His exams are tough, but thats because he wants you to understand the concepts, not memorize them. Read the book, it'll save your life. I definitely recommend him, he's amazing.
Best professor at UMD! He's caring and wants you to succeed. You will learn a lot, and you can take those skills in any workplace. Take good notes, ask questions and study! Take him!
Hes actually a VERY caring professor. I was struggling so much in the beggining, all I did was meet up with hime ONCE and my scores improved big time. He is super helpful and so caring and very nice. Yes, exams are tough. But this is a University not high school. He's also super generous with grading and his project for the class counts a lot
It's odd giving a professor a high rating & level of difficulty, but that's Keyes. Tests are extremely difficult, read the book, study the lecture notes, and you'll still struggle. However, he is very genuine & caring, make sure you volunteer to be a group leader, participate frequently in class and you'll be fine. Curves the class by 1/2 grade
Prof. Keyes is one of the best professors I have taken at UMD. The material is indeed hard and requires understanding rather memorization. Exams are tough but this is a university, so that's okay. Get to know him and you'll realize he's an amazing professor and human being. He really cares for his students. I'd definitely take him again.
This guy is great. The class seemed pretty easy to me. He most certainly cares for his students and wants you to succeed. Take this guy for sure!
Amazing profesor! This class was so much fun.
Best professor in the school. He is so nice, helpful, and inspirational. He knows what he's talking about and knows to teach you the subject. Thanks to him, I now want to be a PM some day in my career. I loved working in a team, and being the team leader. He supported us all and was caring.
Had an awesome time in the summer semester with prof. Keyes! He was super helpful whenever we had any problems and was always very funny. The exams are really overwhelming though. 1/3 of each short answer multiple choice and true false. The t/f and mc were mostly trick questions and dumb but the short answer was fair. Still a good class tho!
The worst professor i have ever had. Seems to be nice and cool but Lecture are confusing, test are impossible!! The average of exams are around 60s. Ends with D in the class. Don't take him.
Your project team members are randomly chosen but he will answer any questions that you have. Just attend class, read the book, and I encourage you to be the project team leader (you just got to be active and involved). He is willing to meet up with you if you are having any difficulties understanding the content. A very nice Professor.
He doesn't give enough explanation about the final project. The exams are very hard. He will emphasize certain material and it often won't be on the test. The test scores were low but he curves them. He is really nice so communicate with him if you are having trouble.
Professor Keyes is just awesome. Very nice to talk to, funny and helpful. There are 3 exams, 2 small quizzes, and a big project. His textbook is the very clear to read and is so helpful for his exams and quizzes, very useful to read because it gives a detailed explanation of what is on his slides. Talk to him often for him to get to know you.
He is an awesome prof. If you take him be ready to take extremely detailed notes. His exams are up there with DS300 in terms of difficulty.
This class was tough, but Professor Keyes made it fun and interesting. If you are struggling with the material, he is more than willing to meet with you outside of class. He allows one makeup exam at the end of the semester, and curves the class. He is hilarious, inspirational, and full of interesting stories pertaining to project management.
Awesome guy he's really down to Earth and nice. Knows his project management. Good asset to UMD.
He's honestly a great guy! If you don't get to know him you are missing out. He's so funny and super nice! Pretty mellow and will crack a joke or too, so don't be offended. No denying his tests aren't the hardest tests ive ever taken, but you can retake a test, and he curves. Be ready for none of the above , all above a&b c&b questions on the test
This class and the exams can be somewhat difficulty, but Professor Keyes is funny and engaging. He is easy to talk to both about the material and other things in general. Studying and reading the textbook is important for the exams, and he will grade tough but fairly.
Worst professor ever, makes you read his book that is very difficult to understand because of the words he uses. Get ready to translate from English to English. His exam questions come from whoever knows, but one thing i know is that you will be surprised when you see his exams. His grading criteria is very weird. Avoid him at any cost.
Professor Keyes is a nice guy but this class is pretty tough. You really need to study and prepare a lot for the exams to get a good grade. The course project at the end has heavy influence on your final grade. He allows each student to take one make-up exam at the end of the semester. Show up to class, study for the exams and you will be good.
Literally don't know where his test questions come from. Nothing is taught in this class that you will be tested on, nor is it in the textbook that is horribly made by him.
Exams are VERY tough. He grades on a curve, but will base it off of how much he likes you. Tends to lean towards giving women higher grades than men. Group project is tough.
His exams are super tough. I recorded his session and studied his lectures word for word and read the book and nothing really helped! goodluck!
Professor Keyes is one of the kindest professors I have ever had in my college career. Yes, this class is difficult but if you continue to try your best and meet with him, you will do fine in the class. He just wants to see you try. Anyone who does bad in this class simply didn't try or was too lazy. Definitely would take him again.
Professor Keyes is a great professor and person. He interacts well with students and is knowledgeable about what he teaches. Three exams and a semester long group project is what factors into your grade. The exams are difficult, therefore he weights the project the most and curves the class. Not a bad class, a lot of work is necessary.
Great Professor! He really cares about his students and wants to see you do well. The class is kind of tough but if you study and work hard, you'll be fine. I took this professor during the Coronavirus Pandemic and he really showed how much he cared and always asked us how we were doing and if we needed everything. Great professor and a great guy!
Didn't learn a thing and never knew what to expect. It seems like he just makes things up as he goes. Nice guy but awful professor.
The assignments are very vague and he changes the syllabus every week.
Exam are extremely hard you can find the answers on PowerPoint or the book.
What a stupid class. If you can take another professor you should. Hell waste your time and you wont learn a thing.
He is really nice but the class was a little unorganized. Material was not very clear.
Keyes is really sweet but I'd stay away from him. His tests are ridiculous and I have no idea where he gets the questions from. This class was open book/note and you can't find the test answers in his $70 book or his lectures. The group project is a grade booster since it's graded mostly on completion but is very confusing. I'd take someone else.
Would not recommend. Did not learn a single this in this class and the exams were ridiculous.
Weird.
He is the best professor youll ever meet. He is the best I encourage you all to take him you wont regret it and if he were to teach other subjects Id take him again and again. This class is a little tough and too many assignments assigned but he is the most understanding professor ever take him
I really think he writes his own reviews. There is no way he deserves such a high rating. His class is very difficult and I would urge all of you to take someone else.
Keyes is awesome! He really cares about his students and goes out of his way to make sure everyone understands the content he is teaching. His exams require you to apply the knowledge you have learned. The group project is easier than it appears and is a nice way to boost your grade. Pay attention and you'll get an A.
The tests are very difficult. You need to understand the concepts and it's all essay questions. It's meant to challenge you. Great professor. He really cares about his students. If you're confused just meet up with him on zoom. The project seems confusing, but you're just overthinking it.
On the surface the content seems relatively easy but quizzes & exams are a bit challenging at first glance. You definitely need to have a strong foundation to build upon for each new topic and be able to apply that knowledge. The book was useless in my opinion. The group project is not as hard as it seems. Extra credit given generously
Maybe it was because this was an online class in the middle of a pandemic, but I have never had a professor seem as disengaged as he was. I mean, it was good for me because it was the easiest A of my life, but we literally did nothing other than a few easy exams and a group project.
Keyes is one of my favorite professors at Dearborn. He cares about his students and makes himself accessible to his students at all hours. His tests/quizzes are written to test your knowledge and forces you to think of real-world situations. The group project is easy and will definitely boost your grade. Great prof!
Professor Keyes is a great professor. He is caring, accessible outside of class, and an interesting guy. He wrote his own book which you will use for the class. It's short and to the point. His lecture slides and lectures follow the book. A few quizzes, exams, homework assignments, and a group project. Overall a good class where you learn something
Took online during COVID. One of the easiest classes ever. I didn't go to his lectures all semester, didn't study for tests, and did the final project in 5 hours. He wrote the book and it is a waste of money, just use his slides. Plenty of time for exams, use the PowerPoints to take the test. If taking in person, just show up and take good notes.
Very nice guy and he has a lot of experience in the business world. The book is a scam, everything is in the PowerPoints. Says he's gonna grade something, takes a week longer. Not a good communicator. Relatively easy assignments if you pay attention to PowerPoints. Tests are heavy grades and he words them weird. He's okay.
TA is the nicest grader Ive had at Dearborn, both are efficient in grading and fair. If you read the book, do the work, and dont be lazy youll be fine. Tests are based on book, like I said easy class if you put in some effort.
Prof Keyes is my favorite prof at UM-D. This semester was a little different because halfway through we had to shift online and it was a little difficult to stay focused. We only had 1 quiz, 1 exam, a research paper/final, and a group project because he hasn't been able to come back to class. The research paper now accounts for the final exam.
Second class Ive had with Keyes. Hes a cool professor, but the lectures are boring and not entirely helpful. Information given is vague and he doesnt do a great job explaining assignments. He was generous in his grading, but I feel like I didnt learn much in the course.
Professor Keyes is very considerate and kind.
Lectures are rough. He does not communicate with the class well and kinda leaves you fending for yourself. Group project is a waste of time and really just a grade booster. Exam info comes at you from out of the right field. I did well but made educated guesses the entire way and I never felt confident.
Professor Keyes is the nicest professor at the university without a doubt. He genuinely cares for his students and makes it very easy to succeed.
I had him for BPS and that was by far the most chilling class I have ever partaken in. The students I had there were amazing and having Keyes for the second time was a delight. We barely did anything, but when we did we actually learned and he laid out what was expected for our group project very clearly.
