She's an awesome teacher and is very passionate about her beliefs. However, she is not afraid to tell how she REALLY feels about Bush -even if it means attacking his character by comparing him to Hitler. So if you like Bush at all, be careful!

pat was a cool teacher to have because she was VERY easy and could be funny too. this class should be at LEAST an easy B, as i never took notes or studied yet that's what i got.

Awesome teacher. She'll rap for the class or use crazy examples if she thinks it'll make you remember the stuff better. I have her class at 6:00 at night on my busiest class day and I always want to go. She's won't hold back from speaking her mind, but you can too. Study guide = test. EASY.

Professor McCutchen is SO awesome. She's seriously the greatest teacher ever. She's a great lecturer and her tests are really easy and actually kind of fun. She puts random funny "answers" on there, and you just have to laugh when you see them.

Very nice yeacher, her class is an easy A. I never paid attention in lecture or took notes and my lowest grade in there was a 96. Also gives a lot of bonus oppertunities.

She is such a great teacher. I love how she tells stories about the topic. She also raps to help you remember you information. She cares so much for the students and wants everyone to do good in her class. Defiently take this teacher she is awesome!!!

She is a good professor. Very helpful and nice. She opens her class with a rap about famous sociologists, very funny. Talks throughout the whole class about personal expriences and human expriences she realates it to the chapters. Study her study guide very well and u will pass. I highly reccomend!!

Great Professor!!! She is so great! Anyone can get a kick out of her way of teaching! She raps...which is SO great! She makes the material easy and fun to learn, I definately think someone should take this class! Whether you are interested in sociology or not. Either way you will love her class!

She is a wonderful teacher. Her tests come right off the study guides and she is just a fun person to be around. Definitely take her if at all possible.

Her class is extremely easy. On review day for tests, she gives you answers (on study guide that are really test questions) to the test. She is a really cool teacher. One of the best at Murray. Highly recommended.

CRAZY woman! There is no telling what she will talk about but most of the time it either involves sex or alcohol in one way or another. EASY class-test are real easy-best part is when she raps the information

She is a really great professor. Take her and you will not be disappointed. This class was fairly easy and there is no h/w, only tests. One of the most interesting professors on campus.

She makes the class fun. She has interesting lectures, and fairly easy tests too. She's hilarious and you can tell that she really cares about her students. Great elective. I don't regret it at all! It was a class I didn't mind going to! She's a lot of fun!

Great teacher! Shes loves her job and her students. Class can be boring, but then she will say something that makes you laugh till you cry! Shes an awesome teacher, you will learn alot. Her tests are easy as long as you go to class and actually read. Highly recommended.

Very, very boring. Attendance is required, yet I could of never gone to class and received an A in the class. Mrs. McCutchen is a wonderful person, but seems completely burnt out in her career and towards society in general. She is fun at times, but I found showing up to class very hard. If you want an easy class w/ a professor who cares, take her.

Very easy class. I recommend completing the study guide and reading over it before the test.The questioins come straight from the study guide so it's easy to make an A. The class was boring so I slacked off making a B in the easiest class ever. She gives lots of extra credit as well. Great woman!

fun teacher, very helpful

This was a pretty easy class, if you attend all classes you get 5 points added on to your final grade! Class is boring, I didnt take notes, but just spent a few hours reviewing the study guide with note cards before each exam which is all multiple choice 60 questions. Very easy and sometimes class interesting she does rap for you too! :)

VERY, VERY BORING! But, Pat is an awsome woman and teacher. She is willing to go above and beyond to help her students out. She really tries to get to know you on a personal level. The class is really easy if you just study and attendance is required but if you communicate with her then she understands about any circumstance.

I really enjoyed the class, but I love sociology too. She is a good teacher. Do the study guide and you'll get an A. Don't do it, and you'll get a B.

interesting lady. she's very passionate about issues and will go very deep in class if you're paying attention, even if the issue has nothing to do with what is on the test. attend class and do the study guide and you've got yourself an A. oh yeah and she likes to do some free style hip hop every now and then

I took Pat for 3 classes because I love her, never made below a B. Tough for Global Soc, easy as pie for intro and social probs. TAKE PAT

Pat is awesome! She is very open-minded and loves all of her students. Her tests can be a little tough.

This class was like therapy. She has a remarkable ability to bring fun to the class while simultaneously extracting the stressful aspects.

She's amazing. Multi-choice exams and she gives you an depth study guide before hand. I loved her teaching style where she told stories about when she was a social worker. She caused me to pick up a minor in sociology this semester. Love her to death!

Ms. McCutchen is a great teacher! She is very nice and really cares about her students. She tells lots of personal stories and makes up funny raps to help remember important facts/people. Her tests are easy if you study! I had her for both Soc 133 % 231. She is willing to talk to you about anything outside of class. I highly recommend taking her!

She is AMAZING! Hilarious, easy and loves everyone! She feels for all students and has NO problem working around your schedule or problems! Test are SUPER easy just do the study guide! She will make you laugh, smile, and feel like your important! EASY A!

Had her for both SOC 133 & Soc 231, and I loved her. She is WONDERFUL! She is committed and loves teaching, and if your lucky she may rap one or two of her lessons. Professor McCutchen ALWAYS goes beyond the call of duty to help ever student(even if your not in her class). Don't miss her class! I got A's in both classes.

Passes study guides out about one week before test(so students can work on all 80 something questions) but emails the study guide with answers to some students (like exchange students). Would this qualify as a social problem?

It feels like she rambles a lot, but amazingly you still learn a lot. She's passionate about what she teaches. I've learned a lot about the world. She teaches using a lot of videos and gives in-depth study guides before the tests.

She is amazing. Her tests are multiple choice and are basily based on definitions of words. She never uses the text book, only her powerpoints. She makes it very interesting. Awesome teacher!

This teacher is awesome, but does ramble alot. She has been known to rap a couple of her lessons to help you remember things for the test... She is there for her students, whether it be for academic success or just life's struggles. She'll be real with you if you're real with her.

Great professor and great person. Explains things well. Tests are easy, at least for me they were. Learned a lot in her class and already registered for Soc 231 next semester. Can't wait.

My favorite teacher of the semester! She's crazy, but you'll love her. She'll rap her lectures sometimes, and as long as you take notes, and study the study guides she gives you for the 4 tests over the semester, you'll make an easy A.

Teacher is very helpful. The material is engaging. She uses powerpoints, the class is big lecture so the grading is a few tests and homework, which can be challenging. She's a fair and prompt grader, is very passionate about the material, and uses multimedia like videos to beak up lecture. I absolutely recommend her. :)

Mrs. McCutchen is beautiful and amazing and I absolutely loved her class. She has so much real-world experience to share and knows how to present ideas in a way that makes them stick with her students. She values opinions but won't take crap, and as long as you're honest she's very understanding that you have more to worry about than just class.

Professor McCutchen is the best professor I've had so far at Murray State. Her lectures are interesting, she is reasonable and easy to get along with, everything is posted online, and she doesn't give many tests. She is truly an awesome lady!

She is the second best teacher on campus. I recommend everyone to take any of her classes they are so good and she makes class really interesting.

I highly recommend anyone to take Ms. Pat. I LOVE her to death she is the most caring professor I have ever had at Murray State University!! She lectures every class, sometime you watch short films be sure to pay attention you will be tested over the films on test. She usually gives 3 to 4 test and 1 or 2 videos with 5 to 10 questions.

Intro to Soc 133 was a class I would definitely take again with Ms. Pat, I loved this class. She makes everything so interesting and you actually learn something! She gives an amazing amount of extra credit enough to bring your whole grade up 2 leader grades. She's just an amazing, caring, and supportive professor and friend all around. Take her!

She is the nicest and most caring professor i have had. she gets that some days suck and you don't wanna go to class or you just wanna watch a video in class and call it done. she is passionate about what she lectures and can give good real word advice and experiences. so sweet love her to death, show up study and you'll get an A

Ms. Pat is great and this class is great to me. She rapped for us twice, the tests are so easy if you look over the material, and she puts funny answer choices on the tests. I actually looked forward to this class! If you take SOC 133, take Ms. Pat!!

Ms. McCuthen is an awesome teacher and her class is so interesting. There are a lot of notes but they aren't boring that is for sure. If you ask for extra credit she will give it to you, and it won't be hard. Her extra credit was mainly watching a video and writing a summary over it. The videos were never boring. She is very understanding. Recomend

She is one of the best professors at MSU & actually has clinical experience in the field! Class topics can be depressing but she made them interesting & I learned a lot from her. Although the topics may seem like "common sense" the test questions can be difficult. If you know the answers to the study guide then you should be able to pass the tests.

overall, she was a great teacher! I had her for social problems which seems like a blow off class but her test questions can be a little difficult if you don't study at all. she gives a study guide so make sure you fill that out and then you'll be set. i found most of the answers on quizlet so its not bad if you just put the time in.

The class is made up of 4 tests and a few extra credit points. So it is important to do well on all tests. During her lecture the material seems super easy, but once you get the study guide you realize the questions are hard! Look up every single question to the study guide and you should be good on the test.

She is very nice

Ms. Pat is my favorite professor I've had at MSU. She teaches a lot of difficult subject matter but does so in a blunt, yet optimistic way. She's a wonderful person to talk to after class as well and I highly suggest you make the time to do it.

Dr. McCutchen was one the best professors I have ever had. 10/10 would recommend! She is so easy to get along with and if you're struggling with anything she will be there to help you through. (She gives 3 unexcused days + a mental health day) Wonderful Professor.

It has been a little while since I took this class, but this professor single-handedly changed my life more than any professor I have ever take. I have ADHD. She is very accessible outside of class. If you are struggling in some way you just have to let her know and she will help you with anything you need to be successful.

The class is easy. Get ready to listen because she talks the entire time. Shes very sweet and very understanding.

If you don't understand something or need to turn in something late, she is accommodating and will work with you. Loved her and would take for every class if I could.

Such a sweet person. I took her twice in the same semester (133+250). The content can be a little boring but she does all she can to make lecture interesting. She is also SUPER accommodating - she gives a study guide for every exam, and even filled them out for us because several students had to miss class due to COVID. She'll work with you!!!

I love this woman! She is so kind and compassionate. One of the most flexible professors I've ever met. You can tell that she wants you to succeed in her class.
