This guy isn't a bad professor. He does talk a little much about marketing and business. How that relates to psychology, perhaps I will never know. Take him if you're interested in becoming a counseling psychologist.

I loved his lectures up until the point where he would relate them all to some pyramid buisness scheme. If he asks if you'ld be willing to stay after class to become serious about changing your life, stay, and see what I mean (a little weird).

He NEVER lectures about the book stuff and instead uses class time to talk about improving life. interesting lectures. if you have good study habits, take this class because he does make you look at your own life.

What a professsor carrying, compassionate, very understanding and his teaching is very well constructed and I hope he will be joining PCC full time, he will definetly be an asset to our college. I have seen students who are not paying attention and he knows it, and he still keeps his composure and with his mild manner tone, just explains it again.

The first thing ladies is that he is HOT. But aside from that, he is an excellent teacher. you do have to work in his class, 3 papers and a presentation. But it is worth it. You will learn alot about yourself. Take him, you won't regret it

He is a very nice teacher. The classes are also very intersting. To get an A, just do all the work, and read the book. He has study guides for mid-term and final, and also curves the tests! One of the best professors in PCC.

took his class over the winter and got an A without too much effort. hes an interesting teacher and although his lectures can get a bit off from what the book is on its interesting stuff. i enjoyed him and recommend him. if you do your work and put in a few hours of studying before each test you should get an A

book is only for test...focus on his lecture, i m sure u will learn something...just turn in all the journal and papers, u can get a good grade..

Took this class and thought it was interesting. You do have to read on your own because he doesn't really lecture much and the tests are all multiple choice. He has a lot of knowledge and great insight. He is very approachable and not at all arrogant...unlike many professors.

i didn't learn a whole lot about psychology in his class, but it was enjoyable and very easy. the reading is interesting and his lectures, though not really related to the text, were entertaining. he gets a little preechy at times but he seems like a nice guy. tests are easy, no real homework. fun class.

Great teacher! Test were pretty easy because they were based on the book. I did now show up half the time, did not do the only project of the semester, and did no take the extra credit assignment and still received a B for the class. Do the work and study a little and you will pass.

Wow I really enjoyed his class. He gives you a study guide and everything he has there is on the test. Make sure you study AND understand everything on the study guide and you will be fine. I'm getting an A. Very easy class not for the Lazy that will just look up terms from the study guide and expect to pass!

He genuinely cares and wants every one of his students to succeed. He puts the lessons into real life situations and tells us about the stupid mistakes people make in life so that we can avoid making them too. He's like a sincere older brother!

Read the book for the exams, he will not cover everything in lecture(but his lectures are pretty clear). Exams are easy as long as you do your part, and one oral presentation is due towards the end of the semester.

This teacher is the best teacher I've had so far at PCC. Actually, he's the best teacher i think i've ever had. If you like psych at all he will spark it and make it a lot more interesting. He's a down to earth, cool, easy to talk to kind of teacher. The lectures are mostly self help type topics that seem to help a lot in the real world.

his class is easy to pass. All you need to do in his class is read a book, do a research (5 pages), a presentation and a paper (2pgs). I will tell you a few things about his class are he does not read your paper at all. He will give you full credit as long as do them. You will get full credit on your presentation if you do it. EASY A CLASS.

And I was ashamed because I thought I was the only one gazing at this guy's kind smile each class. Aside from that, Prof. Occhiato's compassionate nature definitely helped me adjust to college life. I recommend this class for all first year students.

I don't know why many of you think he wasn't good as a professor. I took his Psych 33 class in Spring of 2009 and I have to say he is one of my favorite instructors so far. His class is pretty easy which made me underestimate the class the first time around but his attitude and positivity made me feel real good.

you will never get bored in this class. He makes you feel like u are in a therapy session. Read the book and you will do well in the test. Great teacher. Very Helpful. Smart and kind. very fun class! wish he taught psych 2 :(

I loved his teachings so much he made the subject interesting! I changed my major BECAUSE of him. He is easy but you do have to study. He gives you an exam sheet of everything thats going to be on his test! No HW. I have been @PCC for 4 years now( ya ya lol) and he is by far in my top 3 of most favorite professors! Take him!!!

A lot of his lectures have nothing to do with what is on the test so don't feel the need to go to class. His lectures however are interesting and worth going to. Study his study guides and get an "A" on every test. He makes me consider majoring in Psych. By far my favorite professor.

I took psych1 in Fall 2010 and took psych33 spring 2011. if you want fun, enthusiastic class and also want to be motivated take his class!!!!! he give study guides for every exam, only one project for the whole semester and one easy essay(can't even all it an essay.If you just read the textbook,then your grade will be A for sure.Highly recommended.

Mr Occhi is a wonderful instructor. I found myself agreeing fully with his perspective on human nature, life and love. The written topics of our papers can be a bit depressing. He makes you open up about your personal life. Other than that, he's wonderful.

Prof Occhiato was great. Expectations were clear and grading was fair. He made a 3 hour lecture fun, always made jokes and engaged with his students. 3 multiple choice exams, 1 paper, 1 research project/presentation, and final multiple choice exam. Loved the class!

He does talk about his life often in the class. But he does it in order to relate it to the topic. Easy grader, curved every test in class. Not many assignments, interesting lectures. Don't ever lose the study guide he gives you because THAT is literally the whole test. Chill guy

Absolutely loved his class. Yea, his lectures can get a little dull. It's not irrelevant, but too long sometimes. But, he's really kinds and funny. Just read the chapters enlisted on the study guide thrice, and there you go. You are on your path to that A you always wanted.

Mr. Occhiato's lectures left me with lessons to keep for the rest of my life. When class was canceled, I was sad because his classes were just that enjoyable. He wants the best for his students so maybe that's why he goes into tangents. It's hard not to do well though, he gives you all the questions that are gonna be on the tests. Take him!

I don't understand why so many students said they didn't learn anything from his class. One thing that's unique about his class is that you learn things that you will use in real life! That is so rare in classes these days. Yes it's a relatively easy class but I would literally look forward to each class. Think of it as a classroutine therapy .

I took his class Spring 2016. Overall he is a great teacher. You can skip a class or two as long as you have someone take notes for you & catch you up. He gives out study guides for the few tests there are. Also his lectures are interesting, not boring. His Grading Criteria is clear. I would definitely recommend his class and would take it again.

I swear he is more like that awesome dad. He treats his students like his kids and the atmosphere in his class is so soft and family like. His exams are a joke if you just study and deeply understand what you are reading. You won't study much in his class, and you will learn a lot of stuff that will fulfill your love towards psychology.

Class was cool to attend due to him being such a fun, talkative guy but lectures aren't really based on what's in the book or tests. He'll give you a study guide a week before the test so just go over what's on that and you should pass. 4 exams in total, a reaction paper, and research paper + presentation. Just turn in the work and you'll be fine

Took this professor for psych 1 and liked the class so much I took him again the next semester for social psych. Professor is very good, study for your tests (they aren't easy) and do your homework (easy) and you should get an A.

For those who think him talking about his life is irrelevant is wrong. He is providing examples to concepts we r discussing in class. Sometimes he goes off topic a bit, but that's called building good rapport w/ students. If u read and study u should be fine. The material is something u can learn w/o being spoon fed by the prof. Prof O is great in teaching you life lessons. Some of his lectures are related to the book, and sometimes they're not. In order to get an A in his class you need to be organized and disciplined. His study guides do not cover everything that will be on the exam. Read your book, take good notes, and study. That's your way to a good grade in his class

Really enjoyed this class he really got engaged with his students and spoke about his life experiences which was nice . We did read a lot but only because it was winter Intersession, I wish I wouldve taken this class for a full semester.

This class was wonderful. It was insightful, it was inspiring, and I came away with life lessons I wasnt expecting to get. It was a great learning experience and I only wish the class could be longer. It was a 5 week class. Not just about grades its about the actual learning experience. Reading required but tests are not too difficult.

Im in his class for the first day. And I can already tell that he is a great human being. A stable student was cold and started crying and he walked up to her and put his coat over her so she would keep warm. Kind man. Honestly idk anything else about the class other then u need the textbook, need to read, and need to attend class

All I gotta say is that after one class meeting his ethics and career was proven with the way he treated a student who showed signs of mental illness. He was receptive to this student in every which way even though the student was being disruptive. That being said he proved that he knows what he's doing without saying a word to prove himself.

He's quite an inspirational man. Although this is more of study-yourself kind of class, the textbook is an easy-read and the exams are straight forward. The environment itself is very chill and relaxing as he jokes often. I was able to get an A in this class while taking Ochem, Physio, and Micro so that should tell you the workload. Thank you prof!

One of the best professors I've ever had. Lectures are amazing. He teaches you life skills. This isn't boring regurgitation spoon feeding. The outlines before the exams are helpful but you still need to read the text thoroughly. Not a surprise; this is college, not kindergarden.

I'm a studio arts major and Professor O is such an amazing teacher I wish I was a psych major just to take more of his classes. He gives study guides for the exams. No open notes or open book but not a problem if you do the work. He also makes the day before the exam a study day which is not mandatory to show up but extremely helpful. The best!

Prof O by far is one of the best teacher. Hes truly passionate and caring. His lectures are amazing & relates to real life. You have to read the book though and study in order to pass the tests. He gives an exam study guide and usually designate a day before the exam as group study in class.

This class is defiantly different, a good different. He seems like a very nice man, and understanding of his students. His class may come off a bit "preachy" and feel like a therapy sesh, but he does give out some great advice. Totally worth it to take this class with this professor. It was a self learning class, must read the book to pass the exams. He didnt really lecture off a power point like most typical professors, however i find it more rewarding because it pushed me to self learn, he talks about life and psychological experiences/evaluation. Although he may not lecture on exam topics, i learned valuable a lot from him

Took him for fall semester. There were four exams, a research paper, oral presentation, and one essay. Don't be overwhelmed! His exams are easy as long as you read the book and he gives study guides as well. He's a very inspiring man and gives good feedbacks. Ask him questions after class, he's happy to help. He doesn't really teach, the class is basically a philosophical discussion about life. It's an easy enough class, but you need to be prepared to read and study all by yourself. I passed with an A but spent a lot of time studying by myself and doing research on things I didn't understand. He's a good man and truly likes helping people and talking.

I took him for Lifespan and Social Psych, honestly, he was probably one of my favorite professors here. The journals are easy, the papers are straightforward, and study guides are always provided for exams. Tbh, I'm still mad at myself to this day for not getting an A in both class lol. This man overall is a gem at PCC. I highly recommend Dr. O!

He has been my favorite professor thus far. His lectures feel so therapeutic, as if I am in therapy! I took this class during winter, the homework load was light, three 1 page essays, but the tests where challenging. You must be in class taking notes, he gives us terms to study and prepare you for the test. Easy A!

Professor Occhiato was very nice. I only got the chance to go to class a few times because of the virus but overall he was a good professor. His lectures were always interesting and relatable. There is a lot of reading but he gives you more than enough time to get it done. Four exams, 3 shorts essays. Nothing crazy.

Professor Occhiato was great the few classes I had with him in person. Unfortunately those great glasses were cut short due to COVID. His lectures via online class were still great and almost felt as if he was still face to face with students. Very hilarious and knowledgeable professor, I enjoyed the class very much.

I took his Psychology 001 online class and I really enjoyed it! The class was pretty straightforward (THE SYLLABUS IS YOUR BIBLE), but finding the assignments in the correct tabs was the only problem. If you have a less hectic schedule I definitely recommend this class! His lectures were super calming and fun, I wished he posted them consistently.

This is one of the easiest classes I've ever taken. If you've taken AP Psych in high school before, you'll do just fine. If you study the terms, you'll do great. All you do is weekly journals that you turn in at the end of the semester, quizzes, and tests. There are some individual assignments but it's very easy. Take him if you don't want stress.

Ive taken Professor Os class during Summer 2021 semester, it was a little tough because it was only a six week class. In one week, you have to read 3 chapters plus the home works and quizzes, it was a lot to take in, a bit overwhelming but if you attend the zoom lectures and take notes, read the assigned chapters for the week, youll be fine.

This class was really easy but just make sure you actually pay attention to the homework. He gave study guides for tests so it was very helpful. Would definitely take this class again.

Hands down best professor I have ever had! He cares so much about his students and instead of boring power points, he uses real world examples. Had him for a night class 1 night a week and he made class very interesting. I wish every professor could be like him.

Exams are from textbooks so get reading. Study Guides will be provided so there is NO EXCUSE to not get an A. What you will get from Professor O is not Psychology but Free Therapy. He'll go over relationships, dating, marriage. It will be profound, insightful, and it will stay with you long after the summer is over. Everyone should take his class!

I couldn't recommend him enough. He's such a great professor with a sense of humor. I really like his personality and he's very inspirational and ez-going. He gives study guide which is pretty helpful as well as a lot of extra credit. If you didn't get an A, it's definitely your fault.

Honestly one of the best professors I've ever had. The grades are based on few straightforward tests from the book. However, the beauty of this class lies in the lectures. He is extremely engaging and interesting to listen to, I've taken so much more away from this class than basic understanding of psychology.

Professor Occhiato was an amazing professor. Overall, our quizzes/tests were very easy, and as long as you went through the materials in the module and read the textbook, you should have no problem doing them. All other assignments were fairly straightforward, and he gives you full credit as long as you follow guidelines. I highly recommend!

Prof Occhiatto is a nice, understanding guy. His lectures feel more like TED talks, sometimes unrelated to the chapter. Exams are fairly easy; just read all the chapters and watch the crash courses. Research paper is easy as well but do it with at least a day to spare. Tedious but not challenging.

One of my easiest classes ever here at PCC. Took it online asynch and was able to finish a weeks worth of work in one sitting. Did not really get to interact with Prof Occhiato, so I don't know much about him outside of the class room. It is basically impossible to get a B or lower unless you are literally trying to get anything less than an A.

Prof O's PSYCH001 is an easy A if you stay on top of the weekly journals, quizzes, and tests. The lectures are engaging, like TED talks, and the textbook is useful. unstuck AI was a great study aid alongside the provided materials.

The professor was truly great! He started my interest in psychology. You can tell he truly cares about his students. He gives a lot of reading material, but that's a psychology class for you! If you stay on top of your work, you will pass no problem! Be prepared for quick writes, quizzes, and tests!

Very straightforward class, I would say failing his class is impossible. Just make sure to participate in the discussions and read the textbook (it's free) because the quiz has questions from the book.
