Very very nice. She constantly gave extra credit to help stidents with bad grades. Class would get boring sometimes but not too bad.

She is very kind & wants everyone to pass her class even if they don't deserve to pass. She gives lots of extra credit, tutors, and has a sense of humor. She is the best teacher, the only thing is she has an accent, not too bad though. I should have got a "c" but got a "b" Thanks Mrs.Pat

I really like this teacher...Yes she has an accent which really thru me off, but she is really nice, and really wants u to pass her class. There were some ppl that dropped out of the class and she was so disappointed cuz she really wants everyone to pass the class, and she gives u good study guides for the tests. Is a very intelligent lady, knows what she is talking about but is lacking certain communication techniques. Her broken english is sometimes frustrating. Rediculous amounts of extra credit. Test questions are mostly from the online quizzes. she really wants everyone to pass this class.

This is a class that I have struggled thru all thru my school years. Mrs. Pongam made the class interesting. Her sense of humor made it easier to remember some things. She gave extra credit, and is always willing to help tutor! I have done very well in her class and THANK her for the time and effort of getting it thru my thick head!

If you pay attention in class you will have no problem understanding Dr. Pongam. People who say they can't pass because they don't understand her are only looking for an excuse for their own inabilities. Dr. Pongam tries to make the class fun, she is passionate about her work - lab and lecture. Lots of easy extra credit!

Mrs. Pongam rocks! She is a very helpful teacher and likes to make the class laugh when possible. Her test are based off her lecture, so make sure you take notes in lab! Also, she gives a study guide for each test. Easy A....really nice teacher!

Patchara Pongam is the nicest teacher at IRCC! She tries so hard to help students and is very compassionate! I deserved a C, but she gave me an A! If you can, DEFINITELY take her!

I love her! I would take her for every science if I could. Accent is slightly hard to understand, but once you get used to it, it's not an issue. 5 pts bonus on each test for getting 80+ on online quizzes (you can take quizzes 3x.) If many got a ? wrong on a test, she omits the question. Always available for xtra help, very approachable. Great!!!!

Great teacher. She is very smart and realy knows her stuff. Has an accent but is not difficult to understand. Study the outline for the tests. Quizes are extra credit which is a BONUS. She is really nice and might get you laughin every one in a while. I defenitely recommend her. I wish she tought all the sciences that i have to take. TAKE HER!!!

This class is a difficult class as is. She was very helpfull and answered all my questions. we didnt use the text book at all though. yes she has an accent, but its not a big deal & never affected me. She uses the quizzes for extra credit points, and she lets you drop your lowest test grade. She does her best to give you the best grade she can.

Dr. Pongam is extremely intelligent and has excellent credentials. She has an accent but can be understood and has a good sense of humor. In my opinion, if you are not serious about your studies don't register for her class. She is tough and wants you to leave her class with lots of knowlege. Understanding the concepts are the keys to your success!

Dr. P is Great!!! She is very passionate about everything she teaches. I had her for Biotechnology and Biology. She answers questions via email and is very patient. I highly recommend her.

TAKE HER FOR BIOLOGY! Its a hard subject and the lady knows her stuff! I had 2 substitutes who were horrible! Dr Pongam clarifies all of the confusing biology topics and really cares about her students!

she is great. her class is easy if u take lecture notes. i studied only the lecture notes n got A+ in my tests. but there is lot to study n very helpful answers all the question and very energetic. but she uses every single minute of the class. if u miss a class u would miss a great deal of stuff. i would totally recommend her!!!...

i had pongam for micro lab and she is very sweet and from time to time gets you to laugh..micro is not an easy class to begin with but she is very good at explaining things (she realy knows her stuff). You do need to dedicate time to this class but if you study and do the in class excercises than you should be set.

Had Pongam for Micro Lab. Don't miss a class because the labs are important to know for the test. Everything you need to know is in the study guides. She makes sure everyone understands the material and goes step by step for each lab; plus, she gives you plenty of time for tests.

Dr. Pongam is a great teacher.She knows the content and helps you understand the concepts. Her tests are straight from her lecture. When she says suppose or if u had a ... write it down its a test question. I only study the notes i take during lecture and i have an A. Hard class-rumord 2 be 1 of the toughest @ irsc. Its true. Material may b difficult to understand, but Pongam tries her best. DO THE QUIZES. They are essential and work 2 yo favor. Rea book, take notes. Class is hard-but Pongam is a great teachr. The students who complain bout her accent r just usin it as an excuse 4 their bad grade. Good luck! >:]

She is the kind of teacher who will go out of her way if you ask for help. The class is difficult material but she tres to break it down. Must study for tests. Must memorize. Doesn't give study guides, but good notes. Take notes! Study quizzes! Pay attention in class!

microbio lab --> after failing miserably with Fischer, Dr. Pongam was an angel. she is pro-student & does whatever she can to help her students succeed. yes it is a very tough class, but if you attend like you are suppose to & read what she assigns, you will do well. i would recommend her to anyone! her accent is a little tough but other then that.

This teacher will do absolutely anything she can to help her students. GO TO CLASS AND DO THE ONLINE QUIZZES! The majority of the test comes from the online quizzes. The class wasn't easy. I did have to work for my grades but I didn't have to kill myself. I'd recommend this class anytime.

Dr. Pongam is a great instructor. Though she has a Thai accent, she tries very hard to speak clearly. She will answer all questions and will do everything in her power to help her students succeed. Study your in-class notes and the power-points and you'll be fine.

An excellent lab professor! Had her for microbio lab, and she is very helpful. Her accent is pretty clear, or you will get used to it; don't let that stop you from taking her. She really believes in you to succeed, and all of the assignments/experiments in class are very do-able. Just take good notes on her lectures.

Professor Pongam was extrememly great at teaching! She loves what she does and she loves to see her students succeed. You really do not need the book in my eyes because I did not open it once and still passed with a B+. Easy easy easy and she makes class fun with her stories that bring the whole class together.

Dr Pongham is an excellent teacher. Hands down! I am NOT a science person, but she made everything clear and will take the time with you if you don't understand something. Another reviewer called her pro-student and I totally agree. Take very good lecture notes and print the quizzes for study review too.

If you read the material and follow her study guides you will be fine. She truly cares about her students and will go out of her way to help you. Follow her power points and record her. I got and A its a lot of info but she gives you ways to remember it

Love this teacher so much I would actually like to take all my science classes. I say this because she really cares about her students as well as her career as a teacher. I say this because sciences class require much more work so to have your teacher relating topics and making it easier to understand for her students. She teaches b/c she wants to.

Wonderful teacher that is very knowledge about the course. Able to relate topics in books with current events and is always ready to help you.

I'm Dual Enrollment and this was my first college science class. She was a wonderful teacher and tried to tell jokes. Her study guides were helpful and the powerpoints were a very helpful. If I could take her again I definitely would!! TAKE HER CLASS AND YOU WILL PASS

I have her for genetics lab. She covers material entirely and keeps you for the whole lab, which is fine because lab is very enjoyable. Test will kick your butt if you don?t study.

Took her for microbiology lab! shes a pretty good teacher, shes very funny and keeps the class interested. if your not understand she WILL help u until u understand!

Need to buy the book. Has study guide for each test. 5 tests and one is dropped. Do the quizzes! they help with the final grade. She helps you out the best she can. I recommend her.

Took online and it was enjoyable. She is helpful and sends many reminder emails of when things are do. You can finish the class in a week or wait till the end like did. (Not recommended) I did everything at the last minute and got a B. The book wasn't extremely necessary. Just read the powerpoints.

Easy online class. Spent like 1 hour max every week or so on assignments, she replies to emails very fast. And drops lowest exam grade. Only required one exam to be done in the testing room (proctored) and the rest where online. took her for life science.. Was easy, book isnt really necessary

Mrs. Pongam was an excellent professor, one of the best I've had. She does everything she can to help you succeed.She also drops a test, so if you try there is no way you can fail.

Her lectures are important because what she emphasizes on WILL BE ON TESTS, so pay attention! She's really funny and you can tell she wants us all to do well. She records her lectures so we could listen to them on Echo. Powerpoints are online to look over as you go along in the book. Multiple choice (7)tests are easy if you read text &participate.

GREAT CLASS TO TAKE! BROUGHT ME RIGHT BACK TO HIGH SCHOOL. ANYONE CAN EASILY PASS THIS CLASS; MUST BE DEDICATED TO REVIEWING CHAPTERS AND TAKING QUIZZES AND TESTS EVERY COUPLE CHAPTERS.

She was fantastic! I cannot wait to have her again next semester. She is hilarious. She always tries to make you laugh and she is really good about explaining things a bunch of different ways until you get it. The lab is super fun, lots of great activities.

Excellent class because the information is direct. Study the information, and do the projects, and quizzes. I now appreciate science. The work was understandable, great for a non science major. I would take his class again.

If you study, and complete the projects, quizzes, and discussion board you will do excellent. Easy to understand, basic science, no games. Provides great, online, study resources. I bought the book, and used it, but the book information was available, online, as well. Would take again, absolutely!

This class was okay for me. I'm just not very good science in general. She does have a lot of work, but as long as you study, do the work and you'll be fine. She has projects that are easy too.

Professor Pongam is really great! I took plant biology with her and the the tests are tough, but if you read the textbook is helps so much. No homework, just lots of studying. Definitely would take again.

Dr P is incredibly passionate and cares for her students, she helps you understand the material but most importantly helps you understand it's application. Her tests can be hard but follow the ppt and read the book. She's wonderful and would 100% take her again.

Dr. Pongam is a very nice and caring professor. She does what she needs to do in order for you to pass the class as long as you put in the effort. she is easy to get a hold of outside of class. Test can be difficult, she gives study guides that may and may not help on the test.

This class was pretty breezy. If you just do the readings and complete the assignments and projects, easy A. Prof Pongam updates regularly and is pretty clear with what she wants.

Dr. Pongam was a great online teacher. She answers your questions right away. I was having issues with opening up presentations to complete her project assignments and she assisted and provided alternative ways to complete the project. I took this class in the summer online. Lots of reading, but a good summer class.

great professor. she seems to like what she teaches and goes out of her way to help those who are behind even if she doesn't have to. I really liked her class and I'm not a big science person myself. would recommend her to anyone that has to take this class.

I loved this professor! To me, her class could not have been easier. I got all her assignments done ahead of time and her exams are clear and based entirely off her power points and 2 homework assignments. Just take the time to study for the exam off these 2 sources and do the connect, you will pass the class just fine.

I loved this professor! She has been the easiest class i have ever passed. Study the homeworks and quizzes and youll ace the test! Its not hard work just dont be lazy and choose to not do well :)

Honestly she's so sweet but I found her course very difficult. You have to talk to her for her to help you and she loves to do it. The expectations of knowing the material are high and the powerpoints/book do not help at all. I ask for help but I still don't get it. I don't think its her fault but the book/powerpoint are impossible to understand

Dr. P is a great professor and I highly recommend her for BSC1005. She is very knowledgeable in her field and will help you. She has 5 exams, 2 in person, and will drop the lowest scored one, except for unit 2. It is a little heavy on the textbook, but each section is pretty short. She does have a kind of heavy Thai accent, though.

Took Dr. P's BSC1005 as a Hybrid Course during an express semester (AKA "Nightmare Fuel"). With that in mind, Dr. P did a great job making the most out of the handful of lectures we actually had together. Curriculum heavily depends on online Textbook (ended up with north of 50 pages of written notes for a class that didnt last 2 months).

We had 5 modules, that consisted of 16 quizzes, 4 disc., 1 proctored exam, and 4 non-proctored exams (one of non-proctored is dropped). Book is better to study from but a lot of info and reading. PowerPoints are okay and same for recordings. She is nice and caring professor who is there to help.

She is a really good teacher and really helps you out and is very understanding. She does very good and had very understanding lectures and her labs are fun and hands on.

Dr. Pongam is very sweet however she does talk really fast. Her tests are very hard and your tested on quite literally everything. However her lectures are good and she teaches straight to the point. Do not get discouraged she is really sweet and actually cares about her students. Her assignments were interesting and she tries to make the class fun

Dr.P is my top professor; she is fantastic at her work and truly cares for her students. MCB is not an easy subject, but she gives a lot of resources to prepare for her exams. Regarding her accent, I took her for Lab and Lecture and never had an issue understanding her. She is so sweet and genuinely loves what she does. Going to miss this course
