She didn't show up a lot which was really annoying since i had her at 8am. She didn't have structred lectures...you mine as well not go to them any way cause the only thing that is on the test is your readings and there is a lot of reading to do.

She tends to lecture on stuff that isn't relavant. She also seems to get behind. We were going over stuff that was on the exam 2 weeks after she gave it! READ! The pop quizzes are brutal! However, she gives straight foward notes and lots of chances for easy extra credit.

She's incredibly nice and helpful. Her class is not too hard as long as you do all the readings (which is a lot) and pay attention in class. Tests are in essay form, but not too hard. Attendance is not mandatory, but you need to go if you want to do well on tests. Nice teacher.

I liked the class, but not 2 mnay ppl would. im kinda a fan of American Hist, so it wasn't that bad. only thing,doesn't teach out the book. Tests are all essays, so you have to read like 5 chapters 3+ times and memorize dates and names. u will have side readings from 2+ novels. 5-6 reaction papers.

Although I love history, this class was extremely boring. A ton of reading, and she lectures the entire time about very uninteresting historical events and relates everything to the Towson area (I'm not from Md). Very nice lady, but horrible class. Perfect if you need to catch up on sleep.

She is a HORRIBLE teacher! She will test you on so much information that she never talks about. She rambles on in class about the most unimportant stuff that will never show up on a test. She gives a ton of reading by god youd better read it or you will be in trouble. Horrible history teacher, I would NOT reccomend her to anyone ever!

This class was a waste of my time. The professor was not helpful at all when you needed help. The only time that she could meet with you was before class which for me was before my 8 o'clock class, very inconvienent. She didn't teach we read the book and memorized information. No learning in this class!

Worst teacher ever!She wasn't helpful, gave random unfair grades and would show up late/not at all for every class. This class could be interesting, but not if you take it from her. Shes so dry and you read from the book the whole time. Waste of time and Towson's history department should be ashamed to have hired such an under-qualified instructor!

She never shows up or is late. Rambles on about anything and everything that is not on the test. Treats the class like it's an advanced history class when it's really only supposed to be the basics. She's very smart, but doesn't know how to teach it in any kind of structure to her students. I passed, but came out with minimal USA History knowledge.

This class is easy for starters, and she is a good teacher. Her quizzes are multiple choice and her tests are essay. The easiest way to pass her class with flying colors is to read and participate. THERE ARE NO PAPERS!

She is a wonderful teacher! Her class is fun and she doesn't make you memorize every single date and piece of information that she tells you. She just wants to make sure you get all of the big concepts down, and she is very fair when it comes to grading! I definitely reccommend her class if you are interested in taking a 100 level history course!

Easy class for beginners. Lectures are very concept oriented. Quizzes barely effect your grade and she gives out study guides for all tests so they should be a breeze. The short writing pieces are throwaway assignments, very easy. Participation a bit and you'll be fine. Kind and helpful but if you don't read you probably won't learn too much.

I read other comments, and I think some people are rating a different person than Patricia Anderson the history teacher, I dunno. I have her currently one day a week in the evening. That's THREE hours where we listen to her ramble on straight from reading, with NO breaks. ALL tests are essay ONLY. Horrible class! Unless u a history buff,DONT TAKE

I had her for History of Baltimore. The class was boring to sit through but hardly ever met in the classroom which made it better. We were also made interns at the MD historical society which will look good on a resume. The tests are tough (essay only) and you HAVE to read the books. She also seemed a little disorganized. I wouldn't take her again

Had Dr. Anderson for History of Baltimore. She made the class really interesting, and took us on 3-5 field trips throughout the semester to different places in downtown baltimore. Her tests are a little hard (essay only), and REQUIRE that you've read the books. She's a really, really nice & funny person, and she works for the MD Historical Society.

very nice woman! She trys hard to keep you interested and shes pretty good at it. she doesnt write much on the board so you have to take notes from the lecture, but she tells you whats important. a lot of random writing assignments for a history class. not a difficult class overall but if you miss a class your kinda screwed (class not mandatory)

She is the worst teacher I have ever had in my whole life. She gave me my first failing grade in college. (This fall I will be a senior) Her lectures are boring. She gives 2 tests which are extremely hard. She grades very difficult. Shes not helpful when you ask for help. Being a part time teacher, I dont think she truly cares about her students.

Not hard at all. Takes a little common sense and very little work to get an A. She canceled classes a number of times. A few easy papers were assigned. About 3 quizzes and review sheet on what the test/exam is on is given out before, so you know what to expect.

If you're a history major, make it a point to take her classes. I've taken 2 different 400 level classes with her and they are brutally easy. She cracks jokes and has no problem when anyone else in class does the same. Uses field trips to historic places, so her classes are interesting. Don't listen to the naysayers. Easily my favorite Prof here.

Professor Anderson is such a sweet person. The 3 movie papers are super easy, as well as the 2 online assignments. She cancelled class a few times. For the midterm and final she hands out study guides which are just like the exam.

Worst history professor at Towson. Took Maryland history with her and it was a nightmare. She had us doing loads of work for the Maryland Historical Society that just focused on preparing exhibit for the Society. Lots of mandatory travel to city. Take only if you don't mind learning nothing about Maryland and paying money to do her work for her

Hands down the worst class I've ever taken. More of an independent study than an actual lecture. Do not expect to learn anything in class as there are field trips instead. Multiple field trips that are not scheduled during regular class times and very inconvenient, since we are responsible for the financial aspect of travel to the field trips.

MOST BORING CLASS EVER!! Literally if you're not interested in history, this class will put you to sleep. There are no powerpoints. You just listen to her talk for 2 hours. Quizzes are really tough, you have to remember the smallest non-important info from a chapter. Exams aren't bad cuz she gives study guides that are just like the test.

Professor Anderson loves to talk. She will want you to participate. She does talk about current events often and she shows movies a lot. She does not really assign work, but you do have to turn in analysis's of the movies. Read the book, you'll wish you had later on.

Dr. Anderson is a really great professor who genuinely wants you to succeed. Her study guides are incredibly helpful in preparing for the midterm and final. She also likes to incorporate class-wide discussions on current events, which keeps it interesting. Would highly recommend for those interested in American history and American politics.

She is a nice lady, however her grading criteria is very unclear. She grades papers kindly, but for tests she will take off points anywhere that she can. She will ask you an opinion question on a test and still take off points. Nice person, but would not recommend for a class that is supposed to be relatively easy. Don't take if you want a good GPA

Lectures are unorganized. There is no structure to the course. Going to the lectures is pointless because most of the things on the study guide were never mentioned in class. You still have to go because she Randomly shows movies that youre expected to critique and they cant be made up. NO blackboard, Doesnt email, total disorganization.

Shes a nice professor, but made the whole class so mad by not posting a single grade all semester. No body knew their grade until she officially posted it on peoplesoft. I still dont know what I got on my final. All I know is that I got a C. She makes us purchase all these books but never discusses them in class. She is such a harsh grader too.

Awful class. Will most likely have to retake this. Quizzes are very nit picky. Papers are graded not too harshly but wrote movie critiques not even based on plot more about production. She is a very nice lady, but I wouldn't recommend taking her. You write 5 papers and she grades those fairly easily but I never felt prepared for a single quiz or exam. Her quizzes are way too hard and challenging to study for because there is very certain information on them. She doesn't use powerpoint and her lectures tend to be hard to follow.

Doesnt provide grades on papers throughout the semester so youll be surprised by your final grade. Late to almost every class. Doesnt use blackboard. Hard to reach through email outside of class. Doesnt discuss the topic of the class. Its definitely history just the majority of classes werent in the time period the class was titled for.

None of the assignments had a rubric and she hardly ever responded to emails, it would take 3+ for her to answer. There were little to no directions. If you are someone who needs clear instructions, rubrics, or a teacher who can help you understand what you are learning don't take her.

Professor Anderson is the sweetest professor ever and really appreciates participation. The flip side is that she is very old school. You will not see any grades on blackboard for the course and lectures tend to be a bit slow. If you ask lots of questions and make sure you are an active student in her class, she is very understanding and helpful.

She was so rude to the other POC and Black students in my class, when confronted about her behavior and the micro aggressions she said towards some students she called them delusional. And on top of that with grading she DOESN'T UPDATE THE STUDENTS. She asked for papers submitted online through email and DOESN'T GRADE THEM. A real joke of a teacher

To call Dr. Anderson a Professor is an insult to the academic community in its entirety. She does not prepare for classes, She rarely responds to emails. She does not make grades available and I suspect her grading is arbitrary as she was unable to provide a list of grades given and how they contribute to the final grade. Avoid at all cost
