It is a hard class. All the anwsers are in your notes, but it is hard to remember everything that she went over in class. If you work with her you will understand it better and Take her lab if you choose her as an instructor. Read the ch. before class.

I have never had a more helpful, generous, knowledgeable professor unitl i took her. she put her lectures online as well as yes everything else. you have to know your stuff but why would she make that easy on you? i saw most of the class was in nursing...don't you have to know these things? Definitely recommend her, she knows how to teach.

There is a lot of material in this class and you have to be willing to do work out of class, but she is an awesome teacher. There are TONS of notes but she presents the material in a way that is easy to understand and even with humor. I'd highly recommend her to any one.

Dr Ashby is an amazing interesting, extremely smart teacher. You need to study for this class & it is NOT easy, but Bio 202 really isnt going to be easy anywhere. I feel like I really had to work to get my A, but I really did learn a TON that will help me in the future. Shes great!!

There are good & bad things with her classes.She can be too easy going because she doesn't quiet down the room while people are going over notes for the quizzes,& she allows conversations to go on while she lectures. She doesn't always follow the outline she gives for the class. She is really nice and willing to help, plus extra credit. Take notes!

She is pretty difficult but she is extremely organized and you have to show up to EVERY lecture because her exams are VERY detailed and you have to know every aspect of her notes to get an A. If you are dedicated it is hard but well worth it because you learn so much from her classes.

I love her presentations, love that she writes on the board all important terms. Her explanations are very simplistic, but helps you to understand anatomy perfectly. Exams are very simple, all based on her lectures.

Ashby is an amazing teacher! I retook anatomy this year and nearly had an A both semesters with Ashby, while I failed both semesters last year with Melillo. She is passionate about anatomy and is really helpful outside of class. Review your notes often and you will do fine! Best teacher I've had at SCC by far!

THIS IS THE BEST PROFESSOR EVER! She is very organized and expects a lot of her students, but once your in her class you understand why. She literally provides everything you need to succeed in her class/lab and its up to you to earn the grade you want. She breaks down everything for you as if this were your first science class ever. Doesn't try to trick you or add info to test she didn't review. She records her lectures with Panopto, so if you absolutely have to miss class for any reason, her recordings are really helpful. You can tell she enjoys what she is teaching and she is a great teacher! I would highly recommend her for BIO 201!

This was an accelerated summer course (5-weeks), covered same amount of information as the 16-week course. All memorization. Informative lectures and clear notes that the tests are based on. She kept it interesting, easily answered student questions and down to earth. Probably one of the best professors I've had!

Dr. Ashby's class was one of the hardest classes I have ever taken but it was important to my major so I wanted to learn the material. It's very important to put in the time to earn a good grade. She is always in her office hours and is great about emailing back if you give her quesions. Go to her office hours and study sessions. They help alot!

Ashby is by far the most amazing professor I have ever had. She grades very clearly and pretty fairly. There are weekly quizzes every Tuesday over the material of the past week. Her final is not accumulative and she gives enough extra credit and little case studies to give you a nice cushion throughout the semester. The lab portion is really easy.

Dr. Ashby is awesome. This is not an easy class. Lots of memorization. She's very accessible. Hosts study sessions before each test. Gives a few extra credit assignments. But you must attend class to take the quizzes. They're only 10 points, but trust me, you'll be needing them at the end of the semester. She drops two lowest quiz scores at end.

She understands where you may have difficulties and helps to better explain those subjects using various methods. She is truly caring and considerate of her students. Professor Ashby is there for her students. You have to work for your grade. She gives a lot of extra credit. Make sure to study, watch the PowerPoints, and do all assignments including extra credit. If you do this you will pass. This class requires a lot of work. Study guides to help with exams. Best to take by itself or with easy classes.

Great Professor. She provides a lot of supplemental material to help you understand A&P. I would recommend watching her youtube videos prior to lecture/lab. Extra credit opportunities. Lots of quizzes, but they help you learn and make sure you're keeping up with current content. This class is not easy, but with studying material provided its doable

took bio325. 8 week course but AMAZING!! Reading guides are clear and helpful, extremely understanding. Textbook used is free!! Online labs relate very well and help comprehension. Exams are open book but still very tough so STUDY (which is good! makes you really understand what you're learning) overall great professor!!!!

Prof Patty Ashby is one of the best professors I've ever had/had at SCC. Be prepared to study. Take full advantage of the EC she offers. She is exam heavy, quizzes weekly, and case studies throughout the semester. She truly cares and wants her students to do well. Take her up on the office hours that she offers. Put in the work and you'll do well.

Professor Ashby is such an amazing teacher. Her lectures are always interesting it listen too. I'm currently taking a 8 week course so it's much faster than a regular semester. Which I didn't realize when enrolling into her class but at the 2week mark I am not regretting. She provides all the resources you need to pass the course. 10000/10

I never understood a+p until I took Professor Ashby. It was an 8 week course so it was super jam packed but she gave so many resources. It's a lot of work and you do have to put in the effort and study. There was an exam or lab practical every week but the study material she gave was very helpful and straightforward. Offered a lot extra credit.
