Mrs. Atkinson is formal, but relaxed. She teaches like 7 classes and is the owner of some firm. The class is easy, but you learn too. Need an ECON credit? MRS. ATKINSON'S CLASS IS AWESOME!!!

I learned a lot about economy in this class. Her teaching was helpfull and interesting. Some questions at her quizes and homework assignments were tricky, but if you study you you will be doing good. I got an A.
Ms. Atkinson is a great teacher. The material is extremely challenging, but she gives you every opportunity to succeed. All you need is effort to succeed in this class!
I took her class this summer, accelerated so it was 2-5, 2 days a week. she kept me interested for 3 hours, not to mention that she is a really great teacher
Pretty easy class. You can use notes on most of the tests. Sometimes the classes were boring, as well as the group work, but a relatively easy economics course. :)
IF you don't do well in this class, it's on you. The subject is tough but she breaks it down to understandable and manageable material. She gives you every opportunity to succeed. Take notes, read the chapters, listen to her and you'll amaze even yourself. Added bonus: this class is totally applicable for a better life.
This teacher definitely had to grow on me. Sometimes she does things in impractical ways. Had lots of time to do hw. Tests sometimes tricky. My main problem with her was she never posted grades online, and only let us know our grade once in the middle of the quarter.
Professor Atkinson was awesome! I learned so much. I highly recommend her!
This was a great class, but hard. She teaches difficult concepts well, gives plenty of opportunity to succeed, kept the class light and an easy atmosphere to learn it, can't wait to take her Macro class
Easy class. Can be a little confusing when teaching material that is actually very easy. Great Professor
LOVE HER! She's so great! I had Craven & dropped it then took her the following quarter. Best decision i ever made! So helpful. She wants you to do well. Would with out a doubt recommend her.
This class is extremely boring, but Mrs. Atkinson was VERY good at keeping my interest and keeping me awake. She is absolutely fabulous.
She has a tendency to sky-rocket through the material. For the most part, her teaching style works great for most people, but there are a few who may be just outright confused. I've had to use online videos to teach myself most of the material. Able to use all notes on tests. Grade is based on test, HW and final. Extra credit is available.
Great teacher. Absolutely loved her class, even though i abhor economics. She has easy tests, gives extra credit, removes your worst test score, and she does teh notes out of the book for you. You just have to write down what she puts down on the powerpoint, which she puts on moodle for you. You are allowed to use notes on the final.LOVED
She is good person, always skiing, ready to help you. When she explains the material, you don't have to read the book - everything is clear. But she rarely does that. So be ready to prepare yourself for 4 tests+final. You can use notes (she gives you a guide what to write on it!). Do practice quizzes. No tricky q's on test. Enjoy and teach yourself
She was a very knowledgeable teacher, Homework was not mandatory ( but a good idea to do). I found a group to get my HW done with and used them for the Country Project also. Grades tests very quickly and is very happy to explain why something is that answer.
Show up and you'll have no problem getting a good grade. She keeps the class enteratined with her real world examples and class exercises. One of the best if not the best teacher i've had at clark college. Shes also very leniant and fair with her grading.
Great teacher. So far our weekly quizzes have all been on moodle, which means we can use notes. Quizzes aren't very hard, but a good idea to know what you're talking about for the short answers. Only the second week, but so far so good.
Very nice teacher, very clear, very helpful, but otherwise the class is very easy and she lets you use notes on the tests! Didn't really care for econ but she was a great teacher.
I took trish for macro and finished her course with an A! she is such a good teacher! we have weekly quizzes on moodle and the Q's are worth a pt each if you miss one then she takes 1/4 the pt off we also had weekly summaries of the ch's & is better to read them to get a good grade on the paper also did current economic events she is a light grader
Amazing teacher! Great and interesting lectures!
I had her for micro and macroeconomics and got an A in both. She's always willing to help if you need it and she provides the opportunity for extra credit. She's also very approachable.
Professor Atkinson is fun! The class was pretty easy to get a good grade in if you type all of the papers on time! Try her! She was worth taking
Pretty easy class! She has a good personality so it made it a more enjoyable class. She lets you use notes on the test which is awesome! Plus there is extra credit. Definitely recommend if you need to take economics.
I took the condensed class, which only met twice a week. Because of that, the class moved very fast. I missed a few days and got a little behind. It's my own fault. And i managed to get caught up with her guidance and explanations. She is very approachable and helpful. She even has her cell # on the syllabus so that you can text her questions.
AWESOME TEACHER! Very engaging in the subject. She teaches exactly what will be on her tests and is very clear about what is expected. Come to class, take notes, get an A. I got about a 99% in her class without studying more then 30 minutes a week. Considering majoring in economics after taking her class.
If you need to take economics, she would be a good choice. I struggled but it is because I'm not naturally gifted in the area of economics/math. She is always prepared answer questions and work with you in her office hours. 1 Page notes allowed on tests and it's possible to raise your grade a whole letter through the extra credit.
Really nice professor. She makes this class very easy to understand and gives a lot of extra credit opportunities. Also, there isn't anything on the exam that would throw you off; if you go to class, take notes, and study hard, it will be easy to end up with a good grade. Great teacher, definitely take her for any economics class.
Patricia has tons of knowledge &loves to share it. She dumbs down hard concepts so every one can understand. Extra credit is offered. A good grade is attainable when you have a teacher who is truly passionate about her work. Patricia is an awesome teacher & a cute little lady. I truly enjoyed her class, &thats coming from a science major student.
She's very nice teacher and kind of easy if u do ur work
The class was EASY. Only 2 assignments every 2 weeks for the hole quarter! Plus extra credit was offered. The only thing that I wasn't too happy with is that I submitted the first assignment 10 hours late because something came up at last minute and I got deducted points.
I've taken every single college class at clark college and I have never met a professor like this one. HIGHLY RECOMMEND her to anyone. Class can be challenging but she helps you understand it perfectly. She made me find an interest for Economics. LOVE HER.
Very good teacher
Patricia was great. Took her for ECON 201 over the summer. Busy classs but not much homework and the tests are not bad. Would take her class again for ECON 202 but she isn't teaching on the days I can have class.
She was a great teacher! My favorite part is that she has real life experience in business and economics. If you need something explained, she will dumb it down for you. Great overall experience and would take another class with her. I took the hybrid class at CTC. Loved it!
She is super nice and is passionate about teaching. If you ask for help she will give it, but lectures can be confusing. If you put in work you will learn and easily pass her class.
Amazing teacher! Goes out of her way to help. Very nice and flexible professor. Learned a lot from this class!
Okay drop every other Econ teacher you have and register with Proffesor Atkinson. I've never met such an amazing, genuine, and kind Proffesor. I wish she taught more than just Econ! She has a passion for what she's teaching and her students. Yes you have to work for your grade, she doesn't just hand you an "A", but gives you all of the tools.
Her lectures are really interesting and she likes to tell stories which helps in understanding the concepts. Your allowed a page front and back of notes on each exam. Her tests are straight forward but you do need to study for them. She lets you out early but not always. No homework unless you do extra credit. All assignments are done in class.
It's difficult to become engaged in a subject when the teacher shows up to class and doesn't bring any sort of passion. It's especially difficult when the teacher flat out says that they find the subject boring and dull. Ms. Atkinson doesn't provide any great depth of clarity and her students seem to be more engaged than the teacher.
I enjoyed taking class from Professor Atkinson. She cares about the subject and brings enthusiasm to each lecture. She encourages class participation and is respectful when you ask questions. The only negative I heard from others in my class was that she jumps around in her lectures too much and can be hard to follow.
Professor Atkinson was an easy A, that's about all she has going for her. I've heard from others that she's better than the majority of econ teachers at Clark but I don't personally know, she wasn't particularly great but was clear about grading and easy to do the work for.
Very interesting and engaging lectures and lots of notes.
Customizeable grading scale, so that you can work to your strengths and minimize weaknesses to make getting an A easy. She's one of the best profs I've had. In-depth review of content before the final. Lets you keep old tests and so that you can study from them. Very good at her job and genuinely cares about students. Lots of EC up to 10% added on.
At first, this class was really concerning and I realized that at week 9, with a 84%, I would not be getting an A. TAKE ADVANTAGE OF THE EXTRA CREDIT. In two days, between getting an A on the final (easier than other tests), doing all the extra credit, and getting my lowest test score dropped my grade raised to a 96%. Super helpful and nice.
This was my first economics class and I think it could have been a little better. The professor had clear grading criteria and all of the assignments were clear however, the quizzes and tests were difficult. Each question on tests/quizzes was worth 2 points which can make or break your grade. Tests would be the only thing that could change.
The class was straight forward and quite easy. The whole class is based on the test and quizzes. The thing that I'm most sad about this class is that I paid a lot for the textbook but only used it like once or twice to beware of that. Otherwise than that her class was great.
I took this class online with a friend, it was only 3 credits. Super easy we would take turns on the tests. We both got an A!
Difficult test and hard to understand her teaching. She just kept talking herself.
Prof Atkinson provides a very easy breakdown of economics and provides ample information so that (in terms of the online course) you can learn the material. The class was divided into 4 modules that were structured well and it was easy to navigate between them. Videos and Power Points for each module were helpful and informative.
Online class. The professor is easy-going and often reminds students about upcoming deadlines and such. It's a straightforward class with no "busy work"; do the reading, practice/study, take the tests. There were no help forums but there are basic study guides and she is accessible to ask for clarification.
Professor Atkinson is one of THE BEST professors ever. She is such a genuine and caring human yet very professional and gets her job done. She provides many options in order for students to succeed and offers lots of EC. I'm taking her in the Fall and genuinely look forward to it!
I picked P. Atkinson based off reading her reviews on RMP. I decided she was a solid choice for the class I wanted to take, and she was. She gives a ton of resources if you need it, is understanding, and her tests are decent. Her tests use LD and are not extremely hard to understand even if you are struggling w/ a particular concept. I recommend.
I'm not sure what happened this Fall term but, her class was a complete mess. I took her previously so I was looking forward to this class! Mrs.A seemed extremely bitter and condescending towards myself and other students. Honestly, I learned nothing in ECON 202. We were too busy with figuring out worksheets. We're college students not HS students.
This teacher was very professional. She has a lot of energy and likes to incorporate activities, videos, and power points into the lectures. I found it a little difficult to digest the information in lecture, but she will answer any questions you have. (All questions are very straight forward and right out of the textbook.)
Honestly this teacher sucked. Very rude laughed in my face and would never ever take her again. Dont recommend at all. I had to drop this class because I was failing and Im a straight A student. People had to message me for help but I couldnt help them because it was so confusing. Thats
Atkinson is a fabulous professor. She's eager to teach, very knowledgable in the world of economics, and she makes her lectures super interesting and engaging. She's always bubbly, smiling, and sophisticated in what she does. Love her enthusiasm.
Atkinson is one of my favorite professors I have taken at Clark. I highly suggest everyone take her for Econ 201 and 202. She has plenty of extra credit, gives good lectures, is willingly to adapt teaching style to best fit the class and is a professor that truly cares for her students success.
Shes really amazing at showing the math/work for Econ concepts. She gives good feedback as well and gives good amount of extra credit options! Took both macro and micro with her
Professor Atkinson is a ball of energy. She is scatterbrained but she will clairify if you ask questions. She is very specific with her grading but gives tons of extra credit. She gives you options on what homework you do. There are a lot of group activities and discussions. Professor Atkinson made econ fun.
1-2 chapters and discussion weekly, occasional tests. Has powerpoints on each chapter that have all the important info from chapter. Test questions drawn from practice quiz questions. Fairly laid back class, very little teacher interaction. Just make sure to have study materials open during tests.
Professor Atkinson is a great teacher. Really nice and kind lady who won't hesitate to answer in questions or clarify on topics. There's a decent bit of homework but nothing unmanageable. You get an 8 by 11 front and back note sheet to use on all tests. Overall if you come to class, prepare for tests, and do homework, you'll do just fine.
Professor Atkinson is knowledgeable, so nice and caring, and always has a smile. However, she is scatterbrained and not always prepared. One paper due every week. Entire class is lectures, with a lot of graphs. Two midterms and a final, with a sheet of notes for each. One easy group project. It's not a super hard class, I just found it very boring.
This teacher gives 4 tests each are stupid long and the grammar doesnt make sense. They are also timed. She gives 1 extra credit assignment. And a big final. If You dont understand something good luck she doesnt like explaining herself. If you want To know why you got a bad grade she will get upset with you
Youll have clear set discussions. Then you will have one exam but if you take the practice quizzes, all of the questions on them is on the exam. Shell drop the lowest grade. Super easy class. If you can take course with her. Do it!
This was one of my favorite teachers by far! First day of class, we (meaning the entire class) got to choose how we structure our class. For me, that's an amazing thing to see a teacher do! On top of that, she is just absolutely amazing at teaching, and hilarious as well. There is more work than usual, but she tries to help as much as possible.
Occasional textbook use. This was a 5 week, online class and it flew by. Not really sure I learned too much, but she made it just the right level of difficulty. Not easy by any means, but doable. She gave us PowerPoints with all the highlights from each chapter. You have to buy Sapling to do the homework.
Had her as a online class. There was not a lot of assignments, they were all easy, just some discussion questions and some quizzes. There are 4 tests and a final, they were all mostly easy just reviewing what was in the modules. The final was a test on all the modules. She also provides extra credit assignments as well.
This three credit class was harder than all of my five credit ones. She never really responded to my emails. Class was mostly just tests based on the textbook, and a few discussion posts as well. Canvas was offline during finals and she never gave an extension, very stressful. To be fair she would probably be better as an in person professor.
She was very easy to reach out to if I had any questions and got back in a quick manner. You have to be prepared to read a lot however if you read the textbook thoroughly and do the practice quizzes you will be fine.
This class is mostly a "read textbook chapters, do the website homework that is easy, then take a quiz". The class is very short and as long as you read the chapters, is easy. The quality of the textbook and material is debatable, as it is clearly heavily favored towards certain economies, but who cares, you are probably only here for credits.
Professor Atkinson is a good professor. As long as you stay ontop of the class material, you should get a good grade.
a little much for a 3 CR class but not bad tbh.(more like a 4 CR class), one "paper" where you research a country, one discussion post but it has to be pretty good, one test every module, with 4 modules in a term. 1 comp final. everything is on chegg and quizlet so its really easy but shes a nice teacher! just do ur work right and you'll be fine
I may be an exception because I have accommodations, but she was an extremely accommodating teacher, removing things such as discussion posts when I requested and later in the term, removing the CEE written assignments without asking. Made it a lot easier to focus on the textbook, quizzes, and textbook quizzes
This class was online for me and it was one of the best online courses I have taken. Each module is 2-3 weeks and you only have to read a few chapters each module. There is a test and discussion at the end of each module. Professor Atkinson is easily accessible and was quick to respond to emails. I recommend her online econ class.
Pretty easy class.
Dr. Atkinson was great, her summer class was 5 weeks long with each week's module containing a short discussion and test based on chapters from the textbook. There is an easy country project, a final covering the textbook, and extra credit provided. She was also understanding when I needed more time to complete the tests and provides office hours.
one of my 1st college classes so didn't have any references but she seemed respectable. responded to my emails quickly, took her time grading papers. 1 test and a assignment a week, final test at end. answers are google able. recommend if you need the cred.
Easiest class I've ever taken at Clark. A discussion post and quiz every other week.
Professor Atkinson is a fast and easy grader. She gives good feedback so you can fix your mistakes and get better grades on the next assignment. She gives out extra credits near the end of the term. She would drop your lowest homework, discussion post, and quiz, which gives you a fair chance to get good grades even if you missed a week of work.
Dr. Atkinson is a great professor. Unfortunately if you procrastinate a lot, the class will be difficult. Things are due on a 2 week cycle, so they aren't things that you should be doing the night before but if you're like me that's what ends up happening (so things appear harder). Create a good routine and you're set for the class.
Great professor. There isn't really much to be said, just do the work and you should be fine. She is pretty good at responding to emails.
