A very clear and helpful teacher. Her tests were a little hard, but that was to be expected since the material is so hard.

Says something will be on a test, and some other thing won't, and then switches those tow for the test. Probably not on purpose though.
She teaches something in class and then when you get to the test it's something totally different.

In my opinion she did an excellent presentation of abstract linear algebra. Her tests reflected exactly the topics she taught. Her homeworks problems require an almost fluent use of describing proofs. So only take the class if you've done well in MATH 360. It's a reasonable course if you try hard.
The best math instructor from any of my three colleges. You will learn calculus and you will enjoy it.
Dr. Beaulieu works well with students when you approach her. If you don't approach her with problems you have in her class, don't expect to do as well as you do in other classes.
On a first note, this **** should be fired today! Ive never had a teacher call me a liar and be unwilling to help with her course!! NASTY ****!
Very helpful if you ask
Work load is Heavy especially if you take it in the summer. Test are tricky but they truely test that you understand the material and not just memorize homework problems
She didn't seem to know what was going on. It's hard for me to believe that this woman has a Phd in Math. Very scatterbrained. Her accent is annoying.

This professor does not look her students in the eyes while she is talking/explaining, which makes it very difficult to pay attention. She wastes almost an entire class period going over a single problem that could have EASILY been solved in 2 minutes. It almost seems like students know more than her. She's sweet, but I do not recommend her.
Ms. Beaulieu is great! She does sometimes overexplain, but in a math class "too much" clarity is better than not enough! Her tests are fair, explains concepts from ground up rather than from top down, she works multiple problems in class, is selective about word problems. I'd recommend her for anyone interested in passing Calculus the first time!
she is pretty easy for the hard subject. she will help you in her office if you go. she actually sat with me and worked problems out with me. she's a great teacher.
I've taken a few classes with her and I find that she is a hard teacher, but it's so worth it because you walk away from her class having actually learned something. She's always available in her office if you need help.
She is terrible! I don't know how people like her are allowed to teach! She will teach you the simple stuff in class, and blow you away on the test with problems you never have seen before. If you want to do well in calculus, do not take her at all. My semester in her class has been a nightmare.
She is very hard.... the questions on the test you have to really really understand the material. I suggest doing all the homework. But she is a good teacher and if you go ask her for help she is willing to help. I suggest not skipping class with her .. either.
Anyone who thinks this teacher is good probably has plenty of experience in integral calculus already. The truth is that her lecture material is much easier than her tests because she's lazy. Furthermore, if you make a single mistake setting up an integral; you may as well leave your test completely blank and walk out because you will fail.
Mrs. Beaulieu is very inconsistence. She is very repetitive in lecturing, which make students feel annoying and confuse. When she repeats a phrase, she put a lot of pressure onto the words which makes it very annoying. It takes her forever to gives us any quiz and she only gives three quizzes. However, we get and see only one quiz and never get
Even though you got everything right on her hard-long quiz that she gives before the test, you may still made a D on the test. This shows that Mrs. Beaulieu raises the difficulty of the tests a level from her lectures, the homework, and quizzes. Her tests are extremely hard. Generous students make B in her class.
she thinks everyone love math just as much as she does...it sucks.
Beaulieu is a great teacher. She'll teach what you need to know to pass any other tests than her own. Her tests are stupid. Her tests dont reflect what she taught you. If you're not as smart as her you'll pretty much fail. Unless you're super smart, I don't recommend.
She is a good teacher, but expect to feel pain. Her tests are not reflective of the material nor of the homework. However, if you really work at and go to her for help with the material she will really explain it to you. Also, if she writes a proof on the board you had better be able to reproduce it EXACTLY including punctuation.
Dr. Beaulieu is not that bad, she will do as much exercise as you ask her to do in class. She is very noise too and not friendly At all. she is very helpful if you go to her office as much as yo need it BUT beccareful, her test are very HARD!
RUN-- her test are impossible nothing you can do can prepare you. the purpose of her test are to prove she is smarter than you. a 60min. test took 2hrs no one ever finished her test on time (not possible) forget partial credit on test, no curve, -- if she was last math prof. in La. i would move to Texas. Almost lost a $4k scholarship. RUN AWAY
Her tests look nothing like what her lectures or our homework problems. She raises the level of difficulties to the problems on the tests. She teaches with great arrogant to show the students how much she know math. She designs her tests to fail the students. She is very selfish about the time interval for testing.
She's extremely clear with her lessons. The homework is not mandatory, but the tests are composed of homework questions. Easy tests, and final was not mandatory. Good teacher!
I would suggest taking her if you want to learn a whole lot but not necessarily get a great grade. The problems on the tests look like the hardest homework problems in the book. The homework is not mandatory but I would highly recommend it. It is possible for an A in her class but it will require some considerable effort. Great TEACHER though.
She will go over as much material as you ask her to but her test are almost impossible to pass. Does not give enough time for her test but if you really try and your good at MATH it may be possible to pass. Would not recommend her to anyone.
This class is hard, but Dr. Beaulieu made it easier to understand. Her tests are extremely difficult though. You have to know how to apply what you learned. However, contrary to popular belief, it is possible to make an A in her class. I did!
if you want to learn a lot then she the best ...... if you want to get good grade than she definitely not the one, her test are so hard its impossible to get A. Great teacher.....
one of the worst experiences i have had.
She tend to preach to students instedad of teach them. she's very maticulous and strict, but you learn the material very well. tests are the same as class work and there isnt mandatory homework. Not the easiest teacher but i advise taking her if you have to do calc 2 coz she gives you a strong base.
I dont recommend taking her if your not strong in math but shes very helpful, I missed school and she taught me the entire lesson on her own time out of class. Test harder than homework, final even harder. I'm taking this class again with another teacher and flying through it because i learned so much w. her *do well on quizzes, big help for grade
She teaches the material so you will understand and retain the information, but her tests kill you. What she does is in class and the 'previous' tests she gives you are a lot easier than the actual test. If you want an easy A don't take her, if you want to remember the information definitely take her.
She teaches with good strategy, but when she gives test, its like the test are way harder that the things we learned! Paying attention is important and doing the practice homework problems everyday is necessary to succeed.
Too much info is written on the board. All of it is usually useless or the book already shows it better. Talks too much about how formulas were invented.
After I failed the 1st test I went to the learning center with her notes and HW and still failed the 2nd. After that I went to her office twice a week and still failed the next two test. She talks way over your head or focuses on one single problem for way too long to teach anything else. I suggest her for only math majors or excellent math student
she is by FAR the worst teacher i ever had. she yells at you if you ask a question. shes rude and extremely hard and she doesnt put anything on the test that we learn!! its all harder than the homework, WAY harder.. SHE IS HORRIBLE
I made the worst grade in 8 math classes and didnt learn much but what I was able to teach myself in her class. She doesnt answer questions on problems, doesnt work examples, doesnt go over the test, and the tests she gives are nothing like what you do in the homework. Avoid this lady at all cost if you want to learn or pass your class!
Dr. Beaulieu is very nice but does not stay on topic. She talks about irrelevant things and repeats herself ALL THE TIME! Her tests are hard! (she usually takes problems from the book.) If you can, take another teacher because this 5 credit class will mess up your GPA! i'm having to retake this class next semester!
Not a good professor even for math majors. She repeats stuff too often, and the order she writes stuff on the board is horrible. I'm good at math, so her tests weren't that bad (more "too long" than "too hard"), but it's a struggle to stay awake in that class despite her loud voice. She does, however, speak clearly. I'll give her that.
She repeats herself over and over, writes useless things on the board, and never answers your questions without talking to you like you are stupid. Her tests are pretty difficult and very long for time alotted. Test questions are always way harder than the examples she works out. I go to tutoring in the learning center and it helps.
Test are way harder than practice questions. Never review her test or any practice questions that would somewhat resemble test question. Worst math teacher I ever had.
Hard class, test always harder than work in class, however teacher is very helpful when a person needs it, just go to her office.
She is extremely difficult. She gives you easy problems on quizzes and to practice. Her test are completely comprehensive, so you have to know the material completely. The test problems look easy but involve lots of thought and all the steps/ goals of the chapter. Do not take her if you can avoid it.
Good teacher, but be sure to ask questions. Works well when she helps you by yourself, if you take her, schedule some time where she can teach you. Nice person, just be sure to keep up with Wiley plus and study everything!!
I hated this class! The stuff she teaches on the board HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH THE PROBLEMS ON THE TEST! Make sure to do your wileyplus because that'll help boost up your grade!! Majority of the problems are from wileyplus and from the double digit problems in your book which she BARELY even goes over. Taking this class is alright but you have to have to teach yourself!
Everyone whines about Dr. Beaulieu, but she isn't terrible. You DO have to work to make the grade, but as long as you do all the homework and pay attention in class, there is no reason you shouldn't pass. I made a very high A.
I had her for Calc I. In class, she is wordy and takes too long to explain things, but she IS clear. VERY helpful outside of class, but be prepared to spend a lot of time with her, because you will need it and she will THOROUGHLY explain. She does give partial credit but she is a tough grader. You can do well but trust me you WILL WORK HARD.
Excellent teacher. Extremely clear (i'm was international student). You do have to practice all the problems in the book. Her test are LONG but she will give you plenty extra time. If you have the time to practice and have good understating of the concepts, you'll do fine. She is tough but good. Gives partial credit ALA u know what u r doing
Great techer. Tests are difficult. If you are a good student can can give bat least 10 hours a week after class..you probably will get good grade...You will learn..
Took her for Calc III and she teaches well, the homework isnt bad. But her tests will kill you. Drop her if you can, and find another teacher. Her tests are nothing like the homework or practice problems. If your stuck with her good luck..this is coming from a 4.0 student.
She puts emphasis on being able to solve problems quickly, and not necessarily how/why they work, which is unacceptable in the college level. She calls simplifying a "waste of time" and expects no work shown for certain integrals. This translates into LONG tests, tests that are just EXCESSIVELY long. Avoid, EXPECIALLY if you actually LIKE math.
Good teacher, but her tests seemed a little ridiculous sometimes. I ended up with an A, but that didn't come without a lot of hard work. She doesn't pass an extremely large amount of students; the ones she does pass usually don't end up with great grades, either. Good luck!
Her tests are unbelievably tough. The lectures and homework she gives don't come close to preparing you for the tests, so expect to be completely overwhelmed on test day. If you are planning to take her, make sure that you have enough time to allocate to her class and that you aren't taking any other classes that require time.
BARELY made 'B' in her Calculus III class, and I actually like math! She assigns WileyPlus homework which is pretty useless (other than a 100 point grade at the end). She also gives a "sample" test to review for exams which are also useless. Her tests weren't hard per se, just confusing and LONG! She's a nice lady...but good God she's tough!
This was a difficult class for me to grasp, but not because of the instructor, but because of the material we had to cover. The instructor was very helpful during office hours and she taught me how to become a better student overall.
Avoid Beaulieu if possible, she is by far the worst teacher I've ever had,I have a 3.9 in engineering. Her tests are quite long and difficult. But the worst thing about her is the lectures, she teaches at a very simple level and excepts way more out of you. I've never been so lost and confused by a teacher's lecture. Avoid her
Absolutely the worst teacher I've ever had. Do not take her if you would like to pass. She sets you up for failure from the start. The tests are so long that anyone rarely finishes them. She puts things on the test that were never covered and cares very little for her students. 20+ hours a week in a study group and weekly tutoring did not help
She is honestly the worse teacher I have ever come across. I am good at math and enjoy the subject, this being my second time taking a Cal II course I know what I am doing. Yet, I am failing due to her ridiculous ways. Her test are impossible and she has no remorse for those not doing well. I'm very disappointed in this class.
She says to know one thing for the test, but then puts something totally different and impossible to finish instead.
She was slow and all over the place, but the tests were not difficult. Pulled problems we worked in class and off ALEKS. If she sees that you are trying she will help you out a lot.
Instructor was unclear, we went over material multiple times in different classes, highly unorganized, procrastinator, scattered brained made her difficult to follow. Steer clear of this instructor unless you are really, really, really good at math. Otherwise don't touch her with a 10 foot pole.
She said that her final exam would be made up of problems from her tests during the semester. Not even half the problems came from her tests she was deceptive. On exam 4 she said there would be no spherical integrals... Well guess what there were 2. "I don't remember saying that" she says. Avoid at all costs!!!
Dr. Beaulieu is definitely an acquired taste. She really does care about her students but she is not the professor to hand out any help with grades. Attending her class every day is a must. Her tests are really tough. They are extremely long and work intensive so you must know the material to a T. But she is a great teacher.
Not the worst teacher I've ever had, but not good. This wouldn't matter so much if she didn't grade incredibly hard on tests that are hard to begin with. Think you showed enough work? Think again. You'll get points off and not even know it, because she doesn't indicate how much things are worth. Gives practice probs, but not answers. $100+ wiley
I'm pretty good at math. I honestly studied this class material for hours and still had difficulty with the tests. In class, problems are simple and straightforward, test are nothing like she's reviewed. I wouldn't say she's bad but would NOT take with another major course.
Do not take her! Please listen to me. I am a 4.0 student. I have made A's throughout college and still am, but this teacher ruined it all for me. Her tests are no where near what she teaches. I've done every problem in the book and can achieve the correct answer. I made a C in her class. What a disappointment! She just wants to prove you are wrong.
She doesn't curve.
SPECIFIC TO CALC2: Always do Wiley the day she posts, she'll randomly decide to put it at 8 or 11 on Sunday and not specify which half the time. Also don't bother asking about Study Guides, or what will be on tests (her response will either be "I haven't even thought of it yet" or "I have my other classes to worry about" the day before the test)
I thought Dr. Beaulieu was nice, but I would not take her again. I love math, but I was unable to learn much in her class. She did a maximum of one example per problem, and the problems on the tests were nothing near how she taught them in class. I did a lot of outside work, but there were still problems we had never covered on the test.
Tests are far more difficult than what is taught in class. Whatever you learn in class, the hardest version of that will be on the test. She really makes you work for your grade.
ULL puts their best math professors in the early time slots, and Mrs. Beaulieu was in the 1pm slot, if that gives you any indication of her abilities. The online homework is often unrelated to the lecture, but vital nonetheless. This semester, she thought we were a week ahead, but we were actually behind so we took tests faster than she could teach
Not the best professor stay clear she is demeaning and talks to like you are stupid!! She is not helpful in office hours and her test is not like what she teaches.
Dr. Beaulieu is a nice lady and she means well, but often spends a lot of time explaining the problem rather than actually showing you how to solve the it. Doesn't show many examples in class, and her tutoring sessions are the simplest forms of what you learn in class/what will be on the test. Possible to make an A, just have to work hard for it.
Dr. Beaulieu is the sweetest lady except she's not so sweet when it comes to making & grading test. I never finished a class with anything lower than a B and I went to class, did my homework, & went to tutoring to still fail. She explains the theories behind the problem more than examples. Out of 36, only 2 were exempt from the final(an A in class)
Don't get me wrong, Prof. Beaulieu knows her stuff. I had her 1:00 calc 1 class and it seemed like the majority of people who passed had already taken calc in High School. Her lectures were o.k, but she skimped on working through problems and pointing out the more important methods to solve problems and lecture didn't reflect test material.
Dr. Beaulieu was amazing to have for lectures, as she teaches in a way that makes the math very easy to understand and pay attention to. The only issue was how hard she graded her 4 tests. One missed step in a problem, even with the correct answer, could mean you lose half credit for the problem. Otherwise, very heavy on homework and very fast.
Dr. Beaulieu is not a terrible professor; however, if this is your first time taking calculus, it will be tough. The problem with her lectures is that she only has one way of explaining everything. If you ask her to explain it again, she gives the exact same thing as before. Very hard to learn in that class, but the tests are straight-forward.
This class was honestly not that bad. While this is still a college Calc class, I truly feel like Dr. Beaulieu was a great teacher and wasn't too hard. The first month will be the hardest, but after that, you learn a lot and I feel the class was very fair. The tests were not that bad, and all in all the grading was honest.
Dr. Beaulieu is very smart and great at Calculus, but really her only style of teaching is yelling. When anyone asks a question, she yells the same thing like her students are 5 years old. She expects you to read the textbook thoroughly which is fair, but she grades tests way too harshly, and the homework on Wiley is rarely relevant to the exam.
If you need a lot of help or ask a lot of questions, the lectures aren't that useful because she will just tell you the exact same thing. She might answer the question you ask if you're lucky. When you ask about something she expects you to know she makes a big deal out of it. If you're not quick with math I suggest you find another professor.
Honestly moved too fast! Did not explain and did not care about what you had to say
Hard class
An amazing professor, very strict but really wants her classes to understand the material and not just pass a test. She explains things in a way that makes sense. 10/10 would take again.
Dr.Beaulieu is an okay teacher. You can understand her clearly and she has good board work. She only writes in cursive. There is no book for Math 413 so she gave us lots of worksheets which made my notes very messy. We had to be very detailed on the solutions for the homework. She never gave homework back. Okay teacher bad course. Not world ending.
She writes cursive, so reading what she's writing is hard. Spend more time guessing her writing than learning calc.
She only writes in the smallest cursive possible, she gets lost and the class has to correct her often, she has terrible time management and often keeps you past class time, her homework and tests are the hardest problems possible that she never goes over, she spends 70% of the class time proving a formula instead of teaching you how to use it
1. Writes in tiny cursive on board. 2. Tests are only like 6 questions and nothing like the homework. 3. Doesn't upload grades on Moodle until semester is over. 4. She only gets through like 2 problems in one class. 5. Very hard grader; you must do each problem HER way. I put hilarious tag because this class is hilariously bad. Choose anyone else.
he really cares about showing work and that's where I honestly failed at, but along as you show yours and listen to her when she says what will be on the Quizzes/exams you should be good.
I took 301 and absolutely hated this class. I have always been amazing at math, and I figured I would do fine, but I was completely wrong. She doesn't explain the concepts well and write completely in cursive, making it even harder to learn. She seems really old school and provides zero support. I wouldn't recommend her class to anyone.
Dr. Beaulieu is a good teacher overall, but she's just old school. Do the work her way or you won't get points. She teaches the material well but if you already know calc and do the work you know how to do, it won't slide.
Dr. Beaulieu is a great person but is awful at teaching Calculus. She grades too harshly on exams and doesn't post grades until the end of the semester. The homework is never an accurate review of her lectures, either. Even with spending hours on MLM and using the textbook, I still couldn't perform well on her exams and quizzes. Avoid if you can.
She's really sweet and it feels like she's teaching well but so many of her students end up in tutoring. I don't know exactly where it goes wrong, what she teaches makes you feel like you have it but the homework is completely different and about 10x harder than material in class and the tests look simple but something's always going to be wrong.
Dr.Beaulieu is a good calculus teacher. He tests are easy compared to other calc professors at UL. If you pay attention and answer questions in class you will do fine. Sometimes she doesn't understand students' questions but she will try to help as much as she can.
If you struggle with math I strongly recommend to choose another professor. Mrs. Beaulieu is a harsh grader and will deduct points for even the simplest of errors. Her teaching overall isn't terrible but her explanations are often confusing. Homework is digital on pearson but the tests and quizzes are on paper and differ in format. No grades posted
Worst Teacher I have ever had in my life. She doesn't do enough examples in class. Easily made this course way harder than it should have been, the material itself wasn't even bad but somehow made this harder than Calc 2. One of the toughest graders to walk this earth it's hilarious. Had a friend do so well on the exam she thought he was cheating.
I scored an A on three of the four midterms and 100% ON ALL OF THE QUIZZES AND HOMEWORKS and somehow ended with a C. The final is nothing like the tests and is extremely difficult. she will not post grades she will not tell you your grade upon request she will not tell you scoring criteria she will not tell you category weight (i.e. HW%15)
Would never take her class again. Never failed a math course in my life until I took her class. She doesnt give corrections nor half credit. If its wrong, then the whole thing is wrong regardless of the work shown.
If you ask her a question during the lecture, she will scoff at you like you are brain-dead. She makes no effort to rephrase what she is saying if you do not understand, just repeats exactly what she said last time like you're an idiot. She grades HARSH and will take points off for anything she can. Aside from exams, every assignment is on Pearson.
She is a very smart person, but not when she teaches. She either teaches the material like you know it already or you're a 1st grader. Plus she doesn't give enough in class examples, so the homework and test questions seem like things we were never taught. I remember for our third test nobody got higher than a 57% (I got a 40). Good luck with her.
Don't do it if you like succeeding. She's hilariously bad at her job, she know what the subject but can't explain anything. She'll choose the easiest problems as examples and then impossible problems on tests when it matters. P.S she writes in cursive the whole time
Hard to follow
Took this class first semester of freshman year thinking I was going to be able to quickly get through calculus. Complete opposite. Genuinely the worst class I've ever taken in my life. The tests are very short and if you don't complete the question exactly how she taught it she will take off points. One of our tests had a 0% pass rate.
First of all, the tests are a huge trap. There are only around 12-17 questions out of a 100pt grade, so one wrong question and you basically fail. She writes exclusively in cursive so good luck understanding her writing during lectures. She covers the basic stuff in class but puts the advanced stuff on the test and expects us to know it. Avoid.
I've never performed this terribly in a math course before. Her lectures feel like they are missing key points which drive home the concepts, and the examples she gives in class are absolutely nothing like what's on her exams, where each problem is considerably more difficult and heavily weighed. Consider having a different professor if possible.
Though Beaulieu can be hard to follow at times, she hammered home concepts several times until the class understood. She was very approachable and answered any questions I had in full. I had no complaints during my time with her.
The only reason I made an A is because I have taken this course before, otherwise I have a feeling I would've failed. She is not very good at delivering the concepts of usefulness of calculus so it just seems like memorization for the sake of passing her tests instead of learning and building off prior knowledge.
