Best of show. If it wasn't for her class I would have transferred out of this school

Great Class, Great Teacher.

By far one of the coolest classes I've taken. For the semester, I had only two pages of notes. Class time is usually pretty fun. However, if I hear another story about the "grazer", I'm gonna go insane!

One of the only classes I have looked forward in going to each class period. She has some good stories and gets off-topic pretty easy. She does know alot about most of the subject too. Tons of extra credit also.

Tough to say. Class if fun but its hard to focus when she always goes off topic. But it would be terribly boring if she didn't start talking about whatever. When it comes down to it, I would suggest to take the class.

I took this class from another professor and was bored and got a C. Prof Bodelson made this class enjoyable, which made it easier to learn the material. She is very fair.

Excellent teacher, and a lot of fun for a class that might seem boring. I didn't even need the book. Show up to class, and she is generous with extra credit. Tests are kind of hard, but extra credit helps boost your grade if you do poorly on a test. Highly recommended. I'll miss the class.

I love Dr. Bodelson! She rocks. Unlike other rates, i have learned a couple things in her class. She is so funny and great. If you wanna get a good grade, show up for class, do your presentation, and show up for tests. Even if you bomb the tests you will still get a good grade. She is so funny

I love Pat, she's a great professor!

She is a great professor! She gives extra credit to give you a great boost to your grade. Show up to class and you will pass with a great grade. She does go off of subject a lot but she always has everyone laughing throughout the entire class. Ask her to make her pig noise! She also snorts when she laughs which is extremely funny. Take her!!

Pretty good professor...tends to go off on random issues, but over all not bad. She is hilarious and makes class fun to go to.

Boring subject to me but I laughed every day in class. She often goes off subject, but it's entertaining. Tests aren't easy but that doesn't matter because of all the extra credit u can get by just going to class. One EASY presentation. Take Bodelson if you want a good grade by just showing up.

She goes off on random stuff ALL THE TIME! Its super easy and the tests are take home essays which is great! you get credit just for showing up. I laughed and got an A...easy if you ask me. PAt rocks!

She teaches for ten minutes then just jokes around the rest of the class period, i got a D on every test but still passed with an A she gives extra credit for just showing up, ten points each!

She makes class fun. Surprisingly I ended up learning, maybe not the things that are in the book, but it kept me interested.

Bodelson is the best Political Science teacher SCSU has got. I had the unfortunatce of taking kilkelly first and although he mumbled the whole time i learned absolutely notihng. Bodelson teaches for about 20 minutes each class and teaches enough to pass with a B if you just come to class and listen.

It's an interesting class. It's very unconventional, but she curves tests, so that anyone who wants to go to the Ivy League for law can take this class and it wont hurt them grade wise.

She is interesting, and is always willing to help students. I learned important life lessons that relate to my career, and she helped me understand what i want to be when i am done with school. Her classes are fun, and i got mad when i had to miss, but she is understanding about most things.

unforgettable

Super easy class. Yes, shes very off-topic and doesn't really teach you anything but shes entertaining. The test are pretty much right out the book but in all honesty you dont need it. They arn't easy but the grade you get isnt that important. She gives extra credit on random days for those in attendance.

Great teacher, it takes a minute to understand her teaching strategies but after two classes its apparent that she believes in the experiential pedagogy. She happens to be the smartest most worldly teacher in all the school. Take her and if you apply yourself outside of the classroom you will be rewarded with life change oppurtunities.

She does tend to get off track fairly easy, but she has the best of intentions. if you are any kind of social, she will be your friend and help lead you to the end of the world if you ask her to. You learn outside of her class because of the topics she brings up while she is supposed to lecture. I personally loved her more than any other professor.

I can not express how wonderful this teacher is. I am a non-traditional student who transfered to St. Cloud and I can not expres enough how wonderful she was. I would take every class I have with her if I could. You learn true life scenarios! I firmly believe that this professor is why my education was so high. I learned real life scenarios.

Dr. Bodelson's brilliant use of Socratic globalization methods have helped me truly appreciate the relationship between the United States and the rest of the world.

Awesome prof you don't feel like you are learning any in the class and its fun and interesting and by the time the midterm come around you know basically everything on it

Learn to love her because she's a great person with the most interesting stories that always find a way back to the topic. Usually get bonus points for attending class and she's very helpful if you go to her, don't expect her to baby you.

Took POL 201 with her. HATED her at first - does very little actual teaching and just tells stories about herself most of the time. However, I really warmed up to her, as she revealed herself to be a very kind, compassionate person with interesting life experiences. Very easy... just don't expect to learn much, unfortunately!

Loves to joke around and gets off topic easily. A hoot and a half! Makes learning fun!! She reminds me of Mrs. Frizzle from the magic school bus...not the looks but the charismatic and exciting days!!

Has lead the most interesting life ever and you get to hear all about it. Watch Colbert/Daily clips a good amount and she can relate them to the topic. If you go to class and can hold a conversation she'll make your life much easier, don't be afraid to go to her office as she is very welcoming. Always does a test review the class before a test.

Good professor, class is pretty easy.

Having her as a professor was difficult. She is a kind, funny professor, but apart from personality, I can honestly say that she was the most unorganized professor I've ever had. Very off topic. It is just lectures every class and she talks about material as if we already know it. She doesn't use D2L, so if it wasn't for the book, I would be lost.

Really great professor, not afraid to speak her mind or give you her opinion in any situation, she definitely has a sense of humor as well, and tries to keep the mood of the class light and fun. Reading textbook and taking notes are a sure way to a good grade.

She is an obvious genius. She integrates class curriculum with her life experiences which is an extraordinary way to learn. It was great to learn so much more than just the topic at hand. Anyone that takes one of her classes will definitely view life from a different perspective.

Just like the comment below me, she is a genius. More life experience on the job in many more fields than I can imagine. Respects students, lecture is interesting and she says "this'll be on the test" for everything you need to know. I was so surprised to see any negative comments. I think we only had one test and one project.

Pat is a fantastic professor and quite a character. She will spend lots of time talking, but she keeps you paying attention through jokes and life stories. When the tests roll around, she'll lecture the class by giving you notes. She really connects with a lot of her students, and she genuinely cares about her class. Make sure you read the book.

She was awesome. She gives a bunch of extra credit just for showing up. We watched lots of videos and movies throughout this class. Her exams were based off the book and the books practice questions. She takes attendance but mostly for extra credit usage and final grade. Very open about her beliefs.

If you are looking for a class that you wont be stressed for, I highly recommend to take her. She teaches a few general classes & it makes them super easy. She has endless stories that are super interesting. She will help you with ANYTHING for anything (even non class related) Very caring. tests are on vocab just read & know vocab. grades on curve

She's amazing! One of my favorite teachers ever! Very engaging, very funny and knows what she's talking about! She has liberal view on things, but does a very good job at staying neutral when discussing different issues and topics!

I loved this class! Endless amounts of stories to tell, lots of humor. She has liberal views, but willing to discuss other views. Most students scored low on tests, but she gives a lot of credit for just showing up to class. Tests are based on vocab, no homework. Bodelson has so much experience to share, I would definitely take another class.

She leaves me with the sense I could eat the worm myself and be my own fish I catch.

Didn't really follow the syllabus but was clear what was expected of us and when. Super fun class. Had 2 Piñata and food events. Quite interesting class hilarious participation of class all the time. Overall great class

Looked forward to the class, which hardly ever happens. It was a very lively class and her stories are great (she hides lots of exam answers in them as well). The class is lecture heavy with numerous breaks to pull clips up on YouTube

This professor got off topic a lot and went on little tangents but somehow always managed to make sure we had the information for the tests that we needed. She doesn't believe in basing your grade solely off of test scores so if you show up to class every day she tends to give a lot of extra credit for attendance and participation.

All we had to do was show up for lecture, and pay attention. There was no homework, we just had 4 exams. Not hard if you study and take notes during lecture. Shell tell you exactly what will be on the exam. This woman is a character and shes truly incredible to listen to.

Very unstructured but very interesting

Pat is very under appreciated. She is the only professor in my four years at St. Cloud State who actually has cared about me. She is always pushing people to do better and she has connections to help you get there. Her classes are pointless but if you want to have a good college experience at least stop by her office and introduce yourself.

An experience unlike any other you can imagine. You know when you really have to pee I would say thats the second best feeling in the world, but the best feeling is the relief you get form this class. Filled with knowledge and comedy over all a human interaction you must have.

Dr. Bodelson has been one of the most delightful professors I have ever met. She understands that the test that she gives are difficult so she gives you as much extra credit as possible. Plus she curves the test to favor a lot. As well as being hilarious.

She displays her notes during class, and if you write them down and read over them the night before the test you'll pass. Tests are only out of like 30 questions, I think I got a C on most of them, but about halfway through the semester she starts giving extra credit just for showing up to class. Ended up getting out with an A.

Pat is a great teacher and an amazing person, she has lots of stories and has really interesting lectures. The tests are the only think in the grade book, given they are a bit challenging. She does give extra credit for showing up. Highly recommended!

I took this asynch in the summer. She gave an online program to practice your knowledge on and a book. She only grades based on the tests so doing the practice only benefits you. Shes really a great person and is always willing to help a student out. As long as you try you shouldnt fail this class, theres literally no reason you should.
