Can't understand a word this French woman is saying. Not too hard, but you can't understand a damn thing she says!
Patricia was a lovely woman with a great deal of knowledge to share even though she has a strong accent. She wants her students to succeed, she's tough, but fair. She expects attendance and expects the assignments to be done but that's not too much to ask
Attend class and do the review sheet given before the exam (includes EVERYTHING that will be on it) and you WILL get an A. In addition, if you get all A's on her exam, you are exempt from taking the final. Almost too easy of a class. Anyone who says they can't understand her speaks of nonsense.
She is SOOOOOOOOOOO Easy!!! The class isn't hard at all, just do all the work and you'll be fine. She hates it when people are late or leave early, so try to be on time. She also has a heavy French accent, so it's hard to understand her in the beginning, but you'll get used to it.
shes an amazing teacher trust me when i say that was the first time geography didnt take me right to sleep, she has a sense of humor but corny at times , if you do some work and attend class you will always geta good grade ...really its nto hard to get an A with this woman shes aight!!
Easy class. She lets you make up a test if you missed it whenever you can and accepts late papers. But if you go to class and do your work its nearly impossible to get anything less than a B in this class.
she's awesome! she is very interesting! and keeps your interest! one of the best/funnies prof @ mason. got an A.
this teacher was horrible. the accent didn't bother me it was her attitude. She is rude and anti-american and doesn't have a problem telling you that. She talks to us like we are little kids, not like the 19/20+ age that we are.
The class is easy i never went and got an B just by looking at the book, but if you do go it will be a waste of your time because you cant undestand her and she is rude about answering questions
easy, just read what she tells you to look at in the book. final was 2-3 page paper
No Comments
drops one of five grades, but the class is not organized well at all. easy a or b.
I absolutely love this lady! She knows what she is talking about and is very passionate about the subject. You do not need to buy the book, dont waste your money. If she ever does anything out of the book she makes copies for the class. Easy, easy A

I think that prof Boudinot is a brilliant teacher that is extremely hilarious, but unfortunately most of her humor is lost on the class because of her accent.
Very friendly teacher, she really cares about her students. I would definitely take her again. She has a good sense of humor too. She has a heavy french accent like others have said although it's not that bad. I found her writing style on tests to be more of a problem. I missed a couple multiple choice questions because of her wording. Great class
The class wasn't very organized, and her heavy french accent didn't help me to understand either. But it's still an easy class, you can teach yourself all you need to know. 3 exams, 1 paper and a final. But you can drop any of the 1st 4 grades.
Her class is horrible and her French accent does carry onto the tests. Plan on reading each question at least 3 times just to understand it. Overall easy, but she likes to go on and on about poverty, aids, and anything else hurting people in the world.
Extremely immersed in her subject matter is a perfect way to describe this teacher. You could also refer to her as something of a bleeding heart. Her knowledge shows through her accent quite well and if she botches a test question due to her language error she ommits it's point value from the test. Enjoyable and amusing with a touch of sarcasm.
I very much enjoyed the class, very much involved in her work and has strong beliefs in protecting the enviroment.. easy A.. def. take this class.. *I didn't mind the French*
best geog @ mason. a little intimidating b/c of her sarcastic jokes... but she is awesome and a wonderful professor. i def. reccomend her class. A+
Excellent teacher, very culturally in tact
Her accent isn't an issue however what she teaches in class isn't what she tests on. Her lectures are interesting, but they don't help much. No attendance grade, so I would reccomend staying home and reading the book to prepare for the tests and then just come on the day of the tests and take them. Gives extra credit though--but you'll need it!

Easy class, lots of extra credit, but very boring. She mostly teaches on geographical things for about 20 minutes, and then stands on her "save the earth" soap box for a while. She's kinda funny though.
She is a great professor. Very forgiving, and gives extra credit. She loves the material, and makes you very interested in the subject...even if you're not a geog major. I would recommend her!
she knows its only a 103 class and makes its very easy to get an A. Every exam has extra credit and she drops the lowest grade. I never needed to buy the book because all the exam questions comes from things she repeats throughout the lecture. Highly recommended as an elective.
I had her twice, and I find her to be a very interesting and fun teacher. Her accent is kind of cool to listen to, and once she asked me if I would rather have a B or a C in the class! Of course I picked the B... I think I was one of her favorites though, that's probably why.
If you're REALLY into learning about humanity, poverty, hugging trees, etc you will LOVE this teacher. If you really don't give a damn about that stuff, you'll hate it. BUT she is easy since she gives extra credit, and the final paper is easy. She's a nice, laid back lady
fair to easy. very french.
This is easiest class ever. She is a very flexible and friendly professor that understands that she's teaching mostly non-geography majors. However, you'll need to take notes in class in order to know what's on the test.
shes seriously the best @ mason!
French accent is sometimes hard to understand. Very funny, but sometimes doesn't explain things perfectly. Very fun teacher.
smoke? take this class. seriously. the first day she asked if anyone smoked. i have had a cig with her after every class since the beginning of the semester. truly an amazing person, very idealistic. lectures are anything so fun, can be boring but she respects you and is really an awesome teacher. very understanding. take her, take her, take her.
Don't buy the book, she says its in the test, its not, just take notes. 4 Tests, drop one, final paper 4 pages on Global warming. This class is so easy and very interesting. Not to mention that she is an awesome French lady with a great sense of humor!
best professor i have ever had @ GMU. take her! you will NOT regret it!
Really good professor, one of the better professors I've had at Mason. She's very French, and is a little bit obsessed with global warming. The only hard part of this class is the final project.
best professor i have ever had. she taught us so much, and is deff one of the best professors at mason. i recommend her, she is so cool, just dont get on her bad side.
Prof. Boudinot is hillarous. So far the funniest teacher I've had at Mason so far. Her class is easy to pass if you just come regularly, take some notes, and study.
Patricia is THE BEST. If you come to class regularly, listen, take some notes, the class will be a breeze. She is frickin hillllarious. Shes great to have conversations with, and really takes an interest in what you want to do with your life and how she can help you achieve that. Shes amazing..I definitely recommend this class.
This class is not as easy as people portray it to be. You will not get an A or a high grade in this class unless you do a lot of reading, come to class, and take a lot of notes, unless you have other means. The exams ask specific questions about several different concepts.
Patricia is VERY ENTERTAINING! She's awesome; her lectures are cool and very interesting. All you have to do is take notes, and you're set for the tests. She's super French, and curses, but it's too cute! You'll enjoy her! RECOMMENDED!!!
prof boudinot is def one of the best prof at mason! you always learn a lot from her and her classes are interesting. if you do the work your supposed to do w/ high quality, go 2 class you'll do fine in her class.
Loved her! I changed my major b/c of her! As long as you go to class & take notes from her slides youll pass, easily. You dont have to read the book. Its an amazing class. Enjoy! :)
class was so easy. show up to class and take notes and you should get an A in the class. she gives extra credit opportunities as well. nice professor
Professor Boudinot is AMAZING. She is full of jokes and always has a smile on her face. She uses powerpoints every class. She has all multiple choice exams and extra credit opportunities. The final was a short report on Global Warming in the Chesapeake Bay. TAKE HER!
She keeps the class very interesting! She covers all the ground of what you need to know without burdening you with too much uneccessary info. Our final is to create a travel schedule! Very easy! And she usually mails her powerpoints to you before tests, to study. Tons of extra credit opportunities. Definitely take her.
Oh man, Boudinot is so great at what she does. She sincerely tries to get to know her students, especially those that make the slightest effort to either talk during or after class. I'm an Astronomy major taking this as a Gen Ed, but I had the time of my life in her class. She's an outstanding professor. Top notch! Take her, you won't regret it!!!!
Professor Boudinot is an amazing lady and her French accent is just too cute! We've shared many wonderful conversations over a cigarette, she let me use pen on a scantron....seriously, no other professor would! Very knowledgeable!
She is a really nice and funny person and I enjoyed her lectures and her French accent. If you go to class and take notes and study them for the test, it's really hard not to get an A. Highly recommended.
awesome person! she is great with e-mails. and she encourages you to ask for her help! there are 4 exams and she drops the lowest one. most of the exams are from the notes, so it is important to come to class. some of the exam material is from the book. so get it. overall-great class! she is really understanding too. very laid back as well!
I highly recommend her. She does have a french accent but I found her very easy to understand. There were 4 test and a final paper but she drops the lowest of the 4 test grades. I liked the class so much I signed up for geog 101 with her
I absolutely loved this class! Professor Boudinot was awesome! She was reasonable, gave you all the tools to succeed and made it enjoyable! She was personable and joked allot. She did teach me allot and it was so easy and painless. Highli recommend!
Wonderful professor, absolutley loved her. Looking forward to having her in the future. Gives extra credit if she can bum a cigarette, haha.
Awesome, quirky professor. She is very good at explaining material and she puts all of the PowerPoints online. Very easy tests if you study the PowerPoints and the final is made of questions taken from previous exams so really easy A bc you already know the answers. Highly recommend.
Great Prof. very easy class - attendance is not mandatory but if you go and pay a little attention, even if topic is boring, you won't need to read the book. I bought the book and only used it once. Don't buy it if you don't have to. Test are easy and plenty of easy extra-credit.
Professor Boudinot was a trip. She is very nice and funny. She was very easy, gave a lot of extra credit opportunities, and her tests were super easy. There is really no reason to get less than an A in her class. I really liked her.
Awesome teacher., easy class Highly recommend her
Quite possibly the easiest class I've taken at Mason. She is a tough grader, and pretty strict about attendance, but as long as you apply yourself, there is no reason to get less than a B. I've had her twice (GEOG 103 and 315) and will probably have her again. Quite possibly the best teacher at Mason period.
She's not the best teacher, but is the easiest. Her powerpoints never made any sense and she would talk about unrelated things all the time. DO NOT leave her class mid way through she's gets so mad. Her test are really easy just look over the powerpoints and don't buy the book i didn't buy it and i still got an A in the class
3exams 1 final, exact questions from previous 3 exams. Easy A
Overall, its a simple internet class. If you follow the syllabus and do the readings... You shouldn't have a problem completing the online exams which are open book, open internet, and open notes. Not hard, just requires common sense.
Professor Boudinot is a very knowledgeable, insightful, humorous, and personable professor. Her lectures are very entertaining, and I learned a good amount from her this semester. She's very helpful and encouraging, and full of advice on how to progress at GMU. I'm a GGS major, but I she'll make the class interesting for non-GGS majors.
This professor is a game-changer. I took this course as an elective and I am SO glad I did - Professor Boudinot is SO friendly, helpful, understanding and encouraging - she really wants you to do well! Totally recommend taking her!
Awesome Professor! She needs an award or something. I never cared for Geography in High School but she made it interesting! Class is an easy A if you go to class, do the homeworks, and study for the tests. She has an awesome sense of humor and never keeps you for the full class time.
One of the sweetest French women you will ever meet, and you must visit France to fully understand the gravity of that statement. Her tests are not easy but if you attend class, listen closely to the lecture, and study your notes then you cannot fail. She is very entertaining and will keep you smiling. Wish she taught other classes.
For my first online class, this class was really easy. I opened my book 2, maybe 3 times and Professor Boudinot was so helpful, answering emails quickly. Leniant with due dates, as long as you have a good reason.
She is the nicest professor I have ever had...EVER! If you earn below a B in this class then you should consider dropping out of college. Her accent is so relaxing that I actually look forward to listening to the online learning modules. Do yourself a favor and take this class!
Took her for an online class. Did my best in mostly As' and Bs' on assignments & tests (turned them in on time); yet, didn't get one of those grades because her grading scale is so defective!!!!
Oneline class. Whoever wrote below must be very lazy. She's great. Just complete your uwork on time, put in your effort, and email you if you have any questions, then you should get an A easily. For her modules, take notes as you watch. Some questions on the exams come from those. Must buy textbook for assignments and exams!
She is awesome! More than willing to help and accepts late work but don't abuse it. Her class is fairly easy, you don't have to use the text book but pay attention in modules. Exams are okay, but assignments are all easy. Overall would recommend her to anyone looking for an easy online elective!
Class work was easy but the tests are extremely hard and timed. Tests count for most of the grade final.
I took her online class & the assignments were very easy. The tests you had to study for. The class is fair & you can do well putting effort forward. She is very kind & responsive to emails- I would highly recommend. Easy class.
I have never encountered such a rude and offensive teacher. I was appaled by her attitude towards me as a student who wanted to improve their grade. It was incredibly ridiculous. Assignments are confusing and dealines aren't clear. Class was easy but in my opinion not worth my time since as a student I wasnt worth hers.
This was the easiest class I've ever taken, and barely any work. One group project, but like everything else in the class it's really easy. Follow all directions on an assignment and you get an A. Great elective class.
Took the online section. The assignments were really easy, tests were surprisingly difficult though. Her video lectures were the worst part, slow, repetitive, and difficult to understand sometimes.
Everything about this class was ridiculously easy, except the one test we took (the final). The final was ridiculously hard and timed. Asked ridiculously specific questions, no general knowledge questions.
I do not recommend taking this professor (class online). Even if you present all the homework, you can easily get a bad great because the exams are worth 50% of final grade and are extremely difficult. Even if you read the book, watch the videos, take notes, study, etc, the exam questions are super specific, ridicule hard and nonsense.
Very accommodating professor and she knows her stuff so do not mess around. Book is a MUST, her slides will give you a few of the questions (for free) that will be on the exams. Final Project was a challenge as I ended up using cpu software and programs that I never used before! I am going to take other classes with her as I pursue a GGS minor!!
Second class with the professor and she is very consistent and straight forward. Exams can be tricky but no essays, they are Multi Choice and T/F. Final project required some time, but was worth it and very educational. I'm going to take as many classes with Professor Boudinot as I can to secure a Minor in GGS!!
I took this class to fulfill a requirement as a graduating 3.8 senior. Her videos are boring and contain 5% of the test material. Her tests are comprised of the most irrelevant facts from the book, with some trick questions. How can you expect someone to remember the exact longitude of a specific city? Ridiculous. Very rude in emails!
The tests are extremely difficult! You have no idea what to study because she takes the smallest details out of the readings and uses them as questions on the test. Emailed her to ask if she would consider letting us know what to focus on for the tests and she sent a very rude email back. Will NEVER take a class with her again.
Even though this is a 100 level class, the course is a little difficult. The exercises and discussion posts are easy however the exams have little to do with the millions of readings and videos she post each week. She also gives very vague responses to emails.
She is one of the nicest and best professors I've ever had. She genuinely cares about her students and is always willing to meet with you. She's also consistently at her office hours and is nice enough to just talk to you or talk about what to study for. Overall, everything was pretty easy. I've had 2 online classes with her so far and I got As
Her class consists of 3 test, 5 assignments, 3 discussion questions, and one project. The test are weighted 50 percent of your grade, so it is important to prepare and do well on them. The project is not to difficult, just follow the directions for everything & you will do well. The post are only 50 words. The assignments are not time consuming.
Took GGS last semester in person, and didn't get the grade I wanted. My friend said Boudinot was an easy A, so I did that to replace my previous grade. The tests are all online at home, so you can use your notes/book on that. Final is a project, so an easy A if you try. Weekly assignments take 30mins. My friend helped me a lot but the info is easy!
This is the 5th and final class I am able to take with this wonderful professor :(. There was 10 hws, 1 group project, 1 Final. Do the work in a detailed way and be good with the project rubrics and you should have an A going into the Final. Follow her advice leading up to it and you will do just fine! Do not screw around and not do work!!
Easiest online class ever. Do the discussion board posts, they take a very short time. The quizzes are relatively easy if you use your notes. She often takes straight from the videos. The final project is an easy A if you do it correctly. Easiest required course offered.
TAKE HER! I've taken 3 of her online courses. The assignments and projects are incredibly easy. Do everything exactly how she describes in the syllabus and use the project grading cubics as a reference. The tests are tricky and you actually need to read if you want an A. Don't expect to find the answers online. 315 was actually easier than 101&102
Took GGS101 Online, easy A as long as you keep up with assignments and project, which are very straight forward. Tests are taken online and include some extra credit questions (which is the only extra credit offered) If you stick with her rules and put in a little effort you can ACE this class
This was my second attempt at an online class at Mason(first one I dropped because it was horrible), and it was amazing. She provides you with everything that you need to do well on the exams. Follow her guidelines and you will be in good shape. Very well structured and organized online class. Would definitely take again!
I love Dr. Boudinot. She made this subject so interesting I decided to go and try to learn more about Geography. Her lectures are great with the jokes and the presentation that keeps it all very understandable. Do yourself a favor and take a class with her ASAP.
She is a decent professor if you want to get one of your mason core requirements out of the way. Some test questions do not come from the content she provides but other than that she is a solid choice.
She is an OK professor, if you are looking to take a class where you just want to pass, and this is it. A few assignments are unclear and not very well written, which makes it difficult to get a perfect grade on the assignments. The final exam had nothing to do with the class, at the end it was just frustrating dealing with this class.
Professor Boudinot is very caring about what she teaches and wants her students to succeed. The class consists of discussion posts which are easy but she will deduct points if they are not submitted on two separate days, worksheets which may be a bit difficult to get full credit on, a group project which is an easy A, slightly difficult final exam
If you can't pass this class you have no business being in college. It's literally like a high school class. The exercises and tests are all basic and it's one of the easiest classes you can take at Mason.
I am surprised that this is a 101 class. It should be a 300 level course. The tests are unfairly difficult, especially for a 101 class! 48% of the grade is dependent on tests. Do yourself a favor by not choosing this teacher. Just keeping up with the endless reading is a nigthmare.
HARDEST CLASS EVER!!! DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS. An easy A is ART 101 but sadly it is not a global understanding credit. Her tests are ridiculously hard. I found calculus and Chemistry to be easy compared to her tests. She should stick to teaching 200 and 300 level courses.
She's difficult, grading is ridiculous, she doesn't round so get ready, if you have 79.99 she wouldn't make it a B, I really wouldn't recommend her.
Don't take the online class. I have no idea how she teaches in person but the assignments are super specific, picky and the grading can actually be unreasonable. The tests have nothing to do with the major concepts in the textbook material, the powerpoints or videos. It's bascially about how much trivia you can memorize. Doesn't respond to emails!
Her class is really managable and easy. It's an online class. I don't understand how people can say her tests her hard *cough* Online class. Her assignments take 10 minutes to complete if you have a brain. The TA is really nice too. But sometimes you can tell she's foreign bc her wording is very weird and confusing.
I thought Professor Boudinot was a good professor who did a great job at teaching an online class. Though the video lectures are boring and can be skipped (for the most part), the textbook was pretty much where all the test questions came from. The tests are pretty hard, but it's a trade in for being able to take them at home. Overall, great class
Literally one of the worst classes I have had. Professor is completely disrespectful and does not answer questions clearly. Her "lectures" online are one of her students. So you never see or hear her. Tests are ridiculous, asking you to remember tiny details. However, just participate in discussions, and so some reading, and you will get an A.
She is truly inspirational and one of the best professors at Mason. Her class is totally doable and her class has great material. Just a few hours a week and do the readings and youll do fine. The assignments take less an hour to do and the final is also really easy.
I've taken 3 over classes. Her teaching method is great. It's really hard to not do well. The assignments take little effort and in a week you spend less than 2 hours max doing anything for the class. All you need to do is do the short readings (usually an article) and doing the hw and look at the powerpoints.
It's an online class. She gives great feedback. It's definitely an easy A.
This was an online class. The weekly assignments and final project were simple, straightforward, and took very little time to complete. HOWEVER, THE TESTS ARE RIDICULOUSLY HARD. There's nothing you can do to truly prepare because they have very little to do with the lectures and reading. Got an A, but the stress isn't worth it for a 101 course.
Such a great and caring person. However, she is very rigid at times made me feel stupid for asking questions or participating, she isn't very approachable. I felt that she was very condescending to me, but at the end of the day I'm grateful I took her class because now I have a passion for GIS!
I can't believe the bad reviews I'm seeing. GGS 101,102,103 with her are possibly the easiest A classes in existence. There is absolutely no reason you should get less than a B. When you take the test just have the book in front of you. 50 question blackboard test. Only a few pages of reading per weak. You should feel bad if you get a low grade.
You have 3 tests and one final project with a few assignments and discussion boards. This class is extremely easy. This is definitely a good choice if you want to take care of all the core requirements.
Honestly, if you can't handle a class like hers you probably won't get too far in college. Just a few assignments that take literally no time to do. I did them in 15 min max. The discussions online are just you spewing words. ALl you gotta do is make sure you meet the word counts for most things. I spent maybe 3-6 hours for the entire semester
The weird part, she doesn't teach hard classes. Very easy. But, she is rude and condescending. She takes points out assignments for no reason. However, if you want to take a fairly easy class for some GenEd, take her online. Very little headaches. Tests are a little tricky sometimes - words them in weird ways.
Easiest online class i have ever taken. Not a harsh grader at all, just make sure you do the work on time and you will be fine. Never did any of the readings, just did the weekly assignment and passed with an A
Easy A class, barely put any effort into it. just follow her guidelines and you will do great. Never got the textbook and still got an A.
The only online teacher and the only teacher that replies to our emails in less than an hour usually. Helps when you ask questions. HW and tests are very easy. If you do not read the book and use google you can pretty much end up getting an A except for her tests (book is necessary).
The professor was organized and a lenient grader. The material was clear and very easy to skim when I didn't have time. I put in about 4 hours a week to earn an A.
This teacher does not care about her students. She gives no feedback, is not accessible outside of class. This is an online class and whenever I sent her an email with my name and asked a specific question she would always reply with "student, talk to your TA about this." She does not bother to get to know you or even your name. Horrible professor.
She is a great pro who really wants to see her students succeed. Graded all assignments extremely quickly and had really clear grading criteria. There is no reason for you not to get an A if you stay on top of what is assigned. Overall an amazing professor!
Class was really easy just some assignments are just so confusing you have to guess. Luckily each time I guessed what to do I got a good grade. I didn't like having to guess and just put down whatever. She's also no help as I emailed her and she just didn't help me at all. Easy class. OK professor
Professor Boudinot is one of the most caring professors you could have at Mason. Not only do you recieve great feedback, her material really helps you learn the topic.
Online class was super easy to follow with weekly modules. Great class
Easy class overall. Weekly assignments that aren't too much work at all. Easy A
Patricia Boudinot is a great choice. Her class was enjoyable and interesting. There was a lot of homework but it wasn't too hard and was helpful in grading. Grading was clear and outlined well. Final project was actually really fun. Not a hard class and a great professor. Patricia Boudinot is the best choice for this course.
