Ms. Boyle is a great teacher to take for HUM. It's an easy "A" but you definitely learn alot. I love those types of classes! Definitely take her class!
THis isnt an easy blow off class. You have a quiz everyday and have to read and do a research paper also. Humanitites show be an easy "A". This is not the teacher to take.
I took her for 2 Humanities class. Once you learn her style, you're good to go..as long as you are willing to do the work. It's not a difficult class. And, she offers good opportunity for extra credit...you can earn up to 10 pts extra. I got 2 As.
AWESOME!!! Don't be late for class and read the material and you will do just fine. A really nice person and a very enjoyable class. It is not impossible to get an A or B in her class.

i took 2 courses with her and would easily take her again. she tells you what to do to get an A. the readings are never really difficult and there is extra credit opportunities. i got a B in her class, but could have easily gotten an A. i recommend her!

NOT COOL! My whole class didn't get along with her. I passed with a B. A quiz everyday. Reading every night. She doesn't go over the reading. She is serious about attendance, and u can NOT have your cell phone on in class!

I like her teaching style. The weekly tests ensure you read the assignment. Once you get past the first test you will understand how she tests and they become easier.
She does not teach. Assigns reading,which she never discusses before tests. If you ask her ?s., she tells you to ask after the quiz. She likes to make her life easy. The little writings she assigns,bearly read them. Never answer emails or phone calls
She is the worst professor I ever met. Maybe she knows humanities, but she bearly talk about it. She takes everything easy for herself. Not good professor.
Very unhelpful. If you get to class one minute after she has passed the quizzes, she will tell you,"you don't have to take it." Her physical appearance and the way she acts make her seem as if she were tired of life.

she's dull, with a very dry sense of humor. she gives quizzes over reading that she doesn't go over, so not only do you not know what information she's looking for, she also pulls the most miniscule details out of her hind region.
I loved her class. She is very informative and a little weird at first but her teaching style made me more and more interested in Roman and Greek culture. It also made me appreciate the contributions that they had on our society. If you read the assignments closely you shouldn't have a problem.

If you read the text the day before/day of the quizes you'll be fine. Pay close attention to the who/what the author of the book claims as the best 1st or most influential of a subject for a guaranteed A. When it comes to the test essay be sure to choose the SPCA presentation as the best Good Luck
This teacher definetly does not know how to clarify anything! She is very strict, unclear, and hard to take. Expects you to know everything, with no guidelines. My friends mom died and she still gave her a bad grade for missing class on that day. HARD DONT TAKE HER!!
Some students are unbelievable...read their comments about Ms. Boyle: a teacher who expects you to read, take a quiz, AND participate in class discussion?! The shock and horror of it all! Seriously, she is very intellegent in her field and is very fair in every aspect.
Kind of a dull class, doesn't really prepare you for other Humanities classes - not difficult though. Take Frame for Humanities if at all possible!!!
She's very strict if you are someone that can never seem to be on time even if you are only two seconds late it doesn't matter you still can't take the quiz and will be counted as absent for that class! very stern, dull (boring), goes off topic not pertaining to subject!
She needs a comb first of all. Second, she needs to get off her trip about dogs. Finally, IT IS TRUE, a minute late and she will count you absent, tha **** doesn't compromise. I hated the class but got an B+.
Her quizzes are insane..she picks the most random parts of the readings to ask q's about. Her writing assigments are easy, but her reviews for testsa re horrible. She needs to give more direction as to what she'll test on or even notes!!
I have mixed feelings about this professor. Niee woman, difficult quizzes. I did every single thing in her class, and because of her quizzes, I got a D. :( Her quizzes are random, but so is her class.
Want an easy class? Take Ms.Boyle. I dont understand why people are making such a big deal about her. Her class is PAINLESS! attendence IS 20% of the grade, if u show up all the time, u r good. The easy quizzes are 10 or 20%, u have to do one play review,and it is PAINLESS! If u do the x-tra credit, u go up 5 points in ur total average. Its EASY
Simply, there are many professors who teaches this course avoid taking her course if you can. She is not student friendly i dont think she cares about her student at all

If you don't like reading, don't take this class. Also, don't be late!!! She also cuts off students in the middle of their opinions if she doesn't agree with them. Very rude! She doesn't care much about her students either. Make sure you listen carefully to student presentations-it'll be on the exams.
I don't understand all the negative in regard to Professor Boyle. She is an excellent speaker and is very clear as to what she expects from "college students". If you take her class seriously and work hard, you can earn an "A". I would highly recommend Professor Boyle... she made the class very interesting.
This class is my worst nightmare. She does no teaching or instructing on the material. A self teaching format where the student must derive all learning from the book and is then tested on it. I think she should be terminated!
She is very clear in her teaching. She uses the book. The only thing that annoyed be about her class was the attendance policy. If you show up 5 minutes lat, you will be considered not in class at all!

This lady sucks. She gives you literally 2 minutes on tests... what the hell is she thinking? She doesn't teach AT ALL. You read everything on your own and all you're ever gonna learn about is cats and dogs. I suggest taking this class with another, better teacher. She's very rude and cuts you off when you're speaking. And don't be late-no make ups
I'm suprised at the negative ratings this teacher got. Her class is extremely easy. You take a 10 question quiz, which if you read the story, is really easy. There are ALWAYS two opinion questions. Show up on time(she is REAL STRICT about being late. If you're late, you cant take the quiz. Be on time and read your text and this class will be easy.
She does not make herself available to her students. Rather stiff, lifeless way of teaching the class. She actually does not teach but expects the students to do all the work. Follows the syllabus to the point. Be on Time or else.
Very easy class but miscommunication on my end and did not sit for final so she would not let me make it up says that I would have to retake the class even though I was getting an A.....not a very helpful teacher but she does know what she is talking about...pity that she would not help as I was to graduate that semester :(

She is a decent teacher, kind of too organized but that is needed at college level. She has quizes everyday of the class, 10 easy questions. If you read the assign stories, you'll get an A. 2 exams and 50% of them comes from the quizes. Also has Extra Credit and one very easy play review. However, the cat and dog discussions bored me to death.
I read what other people said and took the class anyway because the time was convinient. Pat would be an ok teacher if she graded fairly.She has favorites. Watch out! You must get to class on time and not miss any days, but that is common sense. Why would you pay for a class and not attend? The class is easy if you do what you are told.

She's easy but plays favorites often. Her class is clearly outlined. There's nothing really to learn because you read a story and then take a quiz. That's the only realy part of class. The rest is student presentations, which are graded unequally. If you want to get an "A" do your presentation on cats or music.
She is a unique teacher in that she will grade you fairly. The tests are VERY easy if your read the few pages assigned. She is extremely passionate about animal cruelty and will love you if you agree with her. Attend class and you will get a GOOD grade...you will get what you put into the class- you WILL learn a lot.

I thought this class was great. Really easy and not that much work at all. Introduced a lot of material to spark interest in other humanities classes.

Major lack of communication. She did not return emails at all during the semester. Quizzes were ridiculous, no rhyme or reason to the questions asked. You read the text book in preparation of tests, yet they include random questions about cats and dogs. The oral presentation is graded unfairly.She treats is like speech class. She plays favorites.

Im a good student but shes The worst! No review, no study guide and the tests and quizzes are hard. U have to write like 5 essays and give an oral presentation. She takes Humanities way too serious and makes no effort at all to reach out to her students. She needs to be fired ASAP, I withdrew from her 20th centuries class. DO NOT PICK HER!
Pro. Boyle is not the best humanities teacher, but she is at the top of the list. Some people may not agree with her teaching style, but I enjoyed her passionate way of teaching about animals and social rights. Test are a lttle difficult, but if you study you should be ok.
This was the absolute worst teacher I have ever had. I expected the class to be fun but instead we were told to read a chapter at home and then take a test on it every Monday. No review, and she didn't teach the material. The student projects are also irrelevant to the class. I am retaking the class to bring my grade up. VERY impersonal woman.
Waste of time she doesn't teach any material pertaining to humanities. Instead talks about cats and dogs. She make you read sections quizzes you on them and the question she chooses have nothing to do with the pages you read. So its imposssible to pass. This teacher is just as bad as most of these comments make her out to be.She teaches nothing.It's basically a guessing game to know whats going to be on the tests.The Oral presentations are on the test as well but she wont tell you which ones will be tested. The professor is very narrow minded. She is very clear on what her views are,and if you if you say something against it durning the class discussion she will instantly cut you off.she made a silde that she made with"quotes" from every belief and used to it to say each one demeans women. most of the quotes she took out of context or added to it

Don't listen to these comments. Seriousely, it's a humane education course, of course it's about dogs and cats mainly. She is a very caring woman, if you're compassionate and choose to express that, you'll be fine.Studying not necessary just reading a conveniently cheap textbook called "Making Kind Choices". Professor Boyle is a wonderful teacher. If you are going take her. Take HYBRID course. You have a quiz each week. Also you have to go to Animal Shelter and write a report also report on a museum. I passed the course. I just think she should have extra credit. You have to read be prepared for her weekly quizzes. Study for her two exams.
I would not recommend taking this professor, because he teaching style is inefficient. You walk out of the class having learned very little. She relies on videos and you reading a chapter of a book at home (then quizzes with no review) to teach you.
Her course is very easy to pass just read some chapters do not expect to learn more than that. She does not care about students so do not even try to explain her anything. A class of 3 1/2 she will make it in 30 min. max. Do not take her

Great teacher. Expect to write though; you will be earning your Gordon rule credit! The tests are pretty easy if you read the book for that specific quiz, but all in all, you will learn. She is very knowledgeable in her field! I met a lot of great people in her class!
I love this class! Some people complain because she talks alot about dogs, but this course is humane education! What do you expect? I've learned so much and love her teching style.

She is not an easy A, but if you read the text carefully, you will do well on the quizzes. The test questions come mostly from the quizzes, so it's a no-brainer. Picky on the essays, though. Takes off for grammar and spelling. You will watch 3-5 documentaries, which are OK, but sometimes boring. Overall, I learned a lot in her class.
Great class, but don't take it if you don't like animals. Interesting text (only 18$), speakers, and class trips. Picky on the quiz questions, though. Also, you better be on time. I got a B, but could have easily gotten an A if I tried harder.
Worst "educator" I have every come across. Her class consists of 5 pages of reading for homework, a 10 question test, a video, and some incoherent babbling. I failed her class because she would not accept a bank statement in place of a receipt for a required museum visit. If you care about your education, or your sanity, DO NOT TAKE HER.
She is extremely knowledgeable about history, very interesting. Doesn't accept excuses, but if you're ok with that, she is worth taking.

Dr. Boyle is a very interesting professor, has traveled all over the world and has had lots of different experiences. very funny at times. She is very strict and expects us to read the textbook and take quizzes without much review. If you are the type of student who needs lots of guidance, she's pobably not for you. I love her style.
Great professor! Makes you read two stories per class meeting, gives you a quiz, two exams, two papers, lots of Powerpoint and film clips. very knowledgeable and funny. extra credit, too
I had very high hopes for this class and i was disappointed. it was honestly ridiculous the amount of time that was spent teaching us about animal shelters instead of humanities. I like animals but it was over kill. I would not take this teacher again. Easy A but brutal to get through
Pr.Boyle is a great teacher,she just expect you to study,to know the vocabulary,to interact.If you do all she require,you'll an easy A.her style of teaching is good,she makes it clear what she expect.Quizzes are easy if you read the stories.I recommend her,you'll learn a lot.2 papers,2 exams,and quiz every class.She is a fair teacher.

Weekly quizzes on reading assignments are hard to study for because the questions are very random and specific example: "when and where was the author of the story born? _____" Movies and lectures are very boring. Class feels like highschool.
Do not take her! I actually dreaded Humanities with her and I love the subject. Quizzes and Midterms are ridiculous. REQUIRES that you visit and take a tour of the Humane Society, not my idea of what Humanities really is about. Find another professor for your own sanity, Class is extremely boring! If last resort, it is passable but no way an easy A

Nice teacher! everything very clear. 2 text for homework, quizzz 10 questions evry time. if you read texts you will have 90-100%. No surprises. Sometimes watched movies.

Great class! You have to do a speech and takes quizzes, but the book is really easy and cheap. Class trips to the Holocaust Center and animal shelters.Interesting discussions and movies.Easy A.

If you want an easy A she will do. her quizzes are very easy and her midterm exam was easy as well. I like the trips that are required for her course they are fun. but dont ask for help or clarification. She is not the one to ask. She will turn you around as fast as you went to ask.

Her class is so boring! You expect to be in a college level course but end up in a HS class, Assignments are easy, but non challenging assignments(seriously she expects HS papers anything not following that structure gets marked down)She doesn't explain things clearly so make sure to ask plenty of questions if you're unsure. Terrible professor. If it gives any insight as to how bad she is, the first day is two hours of reading and copying the syllabus. Doesn't care about intellectual papers, just wants them in a very particular format. If you're a minute late, don't come to class, you'll get screamed at and can't take the quiz(there's a quiz every single day.)Terrible.
Plan to come to class with your phone off. You will recieve a syllabus, read your text and STUDY!! The next class you WILL have a quiz. Which I find helps me remember what I need to for my exams. If your a slacker, this is not the class for you. If you do the work, and STUDY, I can't stress that enough, you will recieve the grade you deserve! <3 -A
