very hard, go to her office help, it helps you so much in the end.
She is hard but on top of that treats you like a high school student.
She's hard.....that's all i have to say.
she was horrible
Bad teacher, treats you like a kid, Take her course if you like being insulted

hard but manageable
Not easy. If you aren't a math person, you won't do well at all

You know the saying, If you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all! .
BAD atmosphere in the classroom. Negative assumptions about classes. Assumes no one knows anything. Has teacher's pets. Gets impatient very quickly if someone doesn't understand. HARD if learning for the first time, ANNOYING if you know the math already.

She deserves to be crucified. That is all.
HORRIBLE!!!! AVOID AT ALL COSTS
i serioulsy did not think she was as bad as the rest of these people make her seem.
Horrible teacher...if you take her expect to teach yourself. She didn't give me extra credit because she didn't like the design I made of my MATH project...and for that I didn't pass the course! She thinks she is always right though she wrote 2+2=5!
Fairly good teacher passable course; expect to work.
Nicest lady possible!! She really goes out of her way to help you! All you have to do is ask! She does expect work to be done, but after all it is a math class so you are expected to be able to do something!! I would highly recommend her to anyone!!
Class isn't that hard. She will always help.
not very helpful...i wouldn t reccomend taking her
soooooo easy...i really like her is willing to help and tests are easy too...def. reccomend!
Take her if you want to learn math. She knows her stuff and is very willing to help you if you ask and don't complain. Focus on solutions instead of problems.
never been good at math and she didnt help. have to learn things on your own. instead of helping me she told me to drop out and go to trade school to be a plumber instead.
I thought she was a very good prof. Explained everything, moved quickly but if you needed help she wouldn't hesitate to stop & explain. Let us work together on POD's, funny, nice, just all together good prof. Take her if possible!
She is a wonderful teacher and very helpful! She's not a mind reader so if you don't ask for help ofcourse you aren't going to get it. She'll forgive absences and late work if you speak up too.
she gets a little off topic sometimes with stories but she is a good teacher and very willing to help.. even though she dosn't seem to understand what soem of the pple are asking.. if you do your homework you'll be golden, she treats you liek a 3rd grader
She will help, but still very unclear on tests
The only reason I did good was because I learned a lot on my own. You really have to do ALL of the homework because I learned more that way. I noticed by the end of the semester a lot of people had dropped. If you're already pretty decent in math, take her....if not, you may have some problems.
I thought this class was gonna b easy. it's not. SAT questions evryday. She treats u like ur still in high school. She has NO IDEA what she is teaching, n tries 2 tell u, "u all learnded how to multiply wrong" and tries 2 teach u the "right way."
She is such a nice person. Yeah the class was not as easy as i thought it would be but she makes it fun with her random stories. Just make sure you listen i111n class and do the homework. Definately take her
She moves pretty fast, but she'll help you if you can't keep up. Love her random stories too. Take her.
She gives a quiz once a week and half the time it is on material we didn't go over in class. She grades tough and math 100 should be the easiest course and she makes it so much harder then it needs to be.
This woman spends at least 45 minutes of every class the last 15 minutes or so she teaches you adn tests you on more than the material you cover in class. She is miserable and treats her students like misbehaving high schoolers. If you ask for help she laughs in your face.
This class was horrible! I have never learned half of the things that she taught us in class and it is supposed to be a review! Most times her math was wrong when she did problems on the board so students constantly had to correct her. TAKE DR. T FOR THIS CLASS IF YOU CAN GET HIM!
If you like being treated like you are a child, and can deal with a moody professor you should take Brislin. If not I suggest to take Dr.T. Brislin can not even get her own math right, the class is constantly correcting her board work. Not a friendly not effective teacher.
This class is horrible! She is very unhelpful. If you ask for help, she will laugh in your face. She is very moody, and is not respectful to her students at all. Tests do not focus on class notes, they are often on things not covered in the class. DO NOT TAKE HER, you will regret it.
Do not take this class EVER!
Should be retired. Don't take this class. Every semester atleast 4 people drop the class. Take Math 100 with Dr. T. Then you will learn from someone who knows what they're doing.
This class was so ridiculously easy. All of the stuff that she covers is basically all common sense. But, she treats her students like she's still teaching middle school, and you will NEVER get out of class early.
Dont take. Class is so boring - goes off on random tangents - then doesnt cover the material. Hard grader - refuses to curve. Always keeps us late because of her ramblings.
Not too effective. Goes off on random tangents. Do the homework from the book on your own and figure it out by practicing yourself. Asking her for help is pretty much a waste of your time. Get Dr. T if you can
cool awesome
She is very strict, disrespectful and treats you like a child. Good luck.
She's awful! This is the second time I'm having her because Wismer isn't here! I'm thinking about withdrawing because she just really pisses me off. We have other stresses in our lives than do deal with a teacher's bad attitude. She doesn't help, she makes you feel dumb and that she knows everything. She should retire.
She is horrible, unclear, boring, slow, and treats everyone like they are still in middle school. She often answers basic math questions wrong and argues when corrected. She forgets what she tells you to do and takes off points if you can't read her mind. She makes it a point to never let you out of class early, even if she has nothing to say. NO!!
horrible, ask lots of question she don't know how to teach, she grades soo hard and give like no partial points, and don't expect to leave early
i can kinda see what these other people are talking about. she can be a real b*tch to people about missing class and not doing homework. class isnt very exciting. she's still a very nice teacher though and helpful as long as you let her know you dont understand.
She used a smilie face as an example in a quadratic equation. I had her for night class, and it was horrible. Boring, long and confusing. I took precalc last year and aced it. This year was a different story. She loathes the calculator and makes you solve things her way. Maybe it was the night class, maybe it was her. Ugh.
She is one of the best teachers that I ever had. She really wants you to get the most you can out her class. It is challeging. Do your homework. All bcause she can tell if you didn't even if she doesn't check. All your E.C. and you will recieve an easy A. Garunteed. Everyone else who says different are lazy. Trust me. I had her 2x in a semes.
So far the class seems a little pointless. I really wish Dr. T was here. He knows how to teach the class. My question to her is, does she create a lesson plan for each class or does she just wing it? I think it's easy to tell. She goes against everything, as students, we learn as education majors. Maybe she should take a class or 2. She isn't alone
This class isnt too bad. It can get boring though especially in her night class. If you do the homework, study for the quizzes (POD's), and see her when you have trouble there is no way you can fail.
Oh, you poor soul for even looking at her. She is a TERRIBLE prof. She expects you to know way too much and her lectures are so fast, you can't understand. She gives out these pages of notes that she wrote BUT YOU CAN'T READ THEM! Avoid her at all costs.
Is helpful only if you go to her office. She expects you to read the whole book
RUN! as fast as you can. This professor is crazy. She spends more time talking about crap than she does the work. She uses Dr. T's book which is very confusing and has many mistakes in it. Dont do it to yourself. RUN!
I have never complained about a professor in my life, but she is the WORST teacher i have ever had the displeasure of taking. I went to her for help, and went to the MAC lab for help but she teaches in such a horrific and childish way that everything is completely unclear. Please either drop her or dont take her. She ruined my life!
There are days when she is very nice and funny, and there are days when she's moody. Regardless, everybody should do fine in her class. Do your homework and study for the PODs and you will do fine. She's not the greatest of teachers, but there is plenty of opportunity for credit. Anybody who fails this class didn't try hard enough.
If you go to class and pay attention, and do the homework, you should have no trouble passing this class. She is available for help or clarification. Weekly quizzes are meant to bring your grade up, so prepare for them!
she gets way too side tracked about nothing and she makes class mandatory or impossible to make up! she's a nice lady but she should be teaching high school not college
Awful teacher, i'm normally very good at math and i received a C in her math 100 course, she goes off and random stories and wastes time so she never is able to let you leave early, there is a quiz every week which are confusing.
don't take her; if you have her, drop the class! she expects you to be there if mu delays or lets out early due to snow. she's not helpful if you go to her. she told our class that our generation are all narcists. also asked the entire class if we had been tested for sped because we may all be slightly mentally retarded!
I had her for algebra last semester, and liked her so much I took her again for pre-calc. People who don't like her just aren't trying hard enough. She will help you with anything whenever you want, all you need to do is ask! She'll even help you with extra credit and if you go in for help before tests she'll all but tell you what's on the test.
This teacher is all over the place. She is horrible at teaching. If you go to her for help, she belittles you and makes you feel retarded for not knowing what you're doing. She calls on you in class and if you don't know the answer, pretty much makes a fool of you in front of everyone. Please do not take her! She is the worst professor I've ever ha
Only helpful if you go see her
My math skills weren't good to begin with and she added insult to injury. She is only helpful if you go to her office, but belittles you when you visit. Her solution for a strugling student is more homework. Good luck
Brislin is not the greatest at getting the message across in class. If you go to her office she is more helpful. She is not organized with her notes and is all over the place with makes it kind of confusing. The two hour class was painful because it felt like she was going super fast at times trying to cram everything in.
Worst professor I ever had. Made you feel stupid if you didn't get it -- after all, you only went to Millersville, not a big name college. More helpful if you went to see her im her office -- put things on the final not covered in class because she thought they should have been covered in hs -- too bad for you if they were not.
This is the easiest math class that you could possibly take. A lot of people don't like her attitude, but she's not really all that bad. Pay attention and you will do fine. There is a quiz every week, but it's an easy 20 points. The concepts aren't traditional and are a lot more fun than the norm. I'm glad I got to take this. Easy A for me.
THE WORST PROFESSOR EVER...SHE DONT LIKE TO HELP YOU AT ALL!!! SHE DONT CARE BOUT NONE OF UR PERSONAL PROBLEMS ALL SHE WANTS YOU TO DO IS NO THE WORK N 1 DAY!! SHE MOVES TOO FAST....
If ur a visual learner who likes alot of examples and clear organization, then this clas isnt for you...But if your already stuck in this class here's some advice, she works well if u go to her office after class..This helps ur grade..TRUST ME!
I thought that she was a hard, but fair teacher. If you're not there to learn and work, you're wasting her time and she lets you know it. Do the homework and ask questions if you have trouble and you'll do fine.
She is actually scary, I am afraid to raise my hand. She gets an attitude when you ask a question about something that she thinks is easy. Students often correct her simply mistakes on the board. . .dont take the class!!
Don't take her. She goes very fast with little explination. She gives some exampls but she makes a lot of calculation mistakes and when you try to correct her she yells at you. If you ask a question she often belittles you infornt of the class. The exams cover things she never taught b/c she assumes you learned it in hs even if you didn't.
goes fast, little explaniation, makes you feel stupid when you dont understand something.
Go to office for help! That's the only way you will pass! Her tests are hard and don't explain what she wants so KNOW WHAT THINGS ARE!!! She doesn't check homework but if you don't do it you will suffer!!! SERIOUSLY!!! DO THE HW!!!
Very good professor. She made everything so easy, and just is an excellent teacher. Definitely recommend for precalc!
hard class. she asks is you have questions. here's a tip. have some questions. it makes her like your class more and she likes you more. you have to be active in class and in hw to pass. take the e.c. chances.
This is a tough class, and Mrs. Brislin is a tough teacher. However, if you take the time to study, and ask for help, and give some effort, you'd do just fine. She is an excellent teacher, but has little patience for those who don't try or don't care. She'd rather put the time in with those who want to succeed.
Brislin is pretty difficult. If math is your subject, it probably wouldn't be too hard for you, but math is my weak point. I busted my butt and got a C. She is very helpful outside of class though, she just tends to make you feel stupid for needing help in the first place.
She will help you if you see her during office hours, but not before she attacks you for not being a Star Pupil. I don't recommend her if you are disabled and need accommodations. It is difficult to communicate with her.
This women feels that she has to be your TOP priority and that you MUST love math. She teaches erratically and she is hard to understand conceptually. I aced Precalc in high school and got a good grade in Calc in college. DONT TAKE HER IF YOU HAVE A CHOICE.
Professor Brislin is literally the worst professor I have ever had. This is supposed to be the easiest math class for liberal arts majors, but she doesn't explain things well enough or make things clear. Tests are impossible even if you go to every single class. I took up to pre-calc and stats in highschool and completely failed the first test!
She makes you feel stupid.Treates you like you are still in a high school. She tells a bunch of useless storys and you never ever leave class late. She is easily the work professor/teacher i have ever had.
If your lazy or don't want to learn then dont take this professor. If you want to learn and become great at trig then this is the class for you. I can honestly say I learned more in this class than all my other ones combined at my first semiester at mu
RUN NOW!
She is the worst teacher/ professor I've ever had. She makes you feel stupid if you don't understand something. She gets mad if you leave to use the bathroom. She doesn't "teach" she races through lectures and gets irritated if people get confused or ask her to slow down. I would rather transfer than take her again.
She expects you to be on time and do the homework and study on your own. She holds extra credit sessions before tests sometimes, and you can go to her after class for questions. If you pay attention in class and do the homework you should be fine.
Great if you have good working habits, and great if you have not-so-good working habits and are eager to adopt good working habits.
dr. brislin was my favorite professor i had at millersville, she is always willing to work with you if you need extra help. she offers a lot of her time outside of class, take advantage of it.
Favorite teacher at MU i ever took. Works well with students who care. Not hard
Brislin comes off as a fast pace teacher who does not care about students, but she is willing to work with anyone. One of the best professors I have ever taken and I strongly recommend her if you want to understand this subject well
Never be late to class....ever
She is ALWAYS willing to meet with you and help anyone outside of the class. Once she stayed with me two hours explaining and giving me examples for the test. REALLY nice lady if you get to know her! I would recommend her to anyone! Do your homework and don't be late to class and you'll be fine. She's excellent.
Brislin's class was difficult and confusing. She told you what to study for weekly quizzes and then they were nothing like what she said. If you email her for help, she is often rude and short when she responds. The tests were impossible and there was not even enough time to finish them. She also wastes tons of time rambling about random subjects.
A lot of students had trouble with the material, but i didn't. I just couldn't concentrate in her class because she often rants about random topics out of the blue. If you don't understand she will treat you as if you're stupid, while making many simple algebra mistakes herself and gives little feedback on work, her answer to students is to study.
Prof. Brislin is a very nice lady who cares for her students. Calculus is a tough subject in general, and she does the best she can. A lot of material to cover. Tests are straightforward but tough. She will help you if you have a question. Sometimes gets off track. STUDY HER NOTES. Most of her exam questions come from notes. Would recommend her!
She kind of takes it personal if you don't like math and you make it known that you don't. That's what happened to me at least. She made it a point to tell me I got the lowest grade in her class in an offensive manner meant to make me feel bad. She's not the clearest and I wouldn't take her again.
Terrible, worst prof i have probably ever had. No feedback, terrible notes that she hands out. Makes things harder than they are. Shes just an awful proffesor
As a person Brislin I'm sure is a great person, but I believe she is a terrible teacher. Yet over the years I think she has lost her touch. She goes so fast in class and never explains fully what she is doing.
Professor Brislin is one of the best professors I had at MU. She truly cares about her students and wants each of them to do well. Outside of class she is an amazing woman and gives great life advice. I always enjoy going to talk to her about my other classes. Her tests are tough, but if you study her notes you should be able to get at least a B-.
I took this class twice, failed last semester because I didn't go to class every week and got behind. If you get on her bad side she isn't so eager to help. I knew what she expected so when I went to take the class again I choose to take it again with her and passed. She gives a quiz every friday and there are about 4-5 tests.
She seems to be a nice person outside of class. However, unless you are mathematically minded, try and find someone else. She will go fast and explains things every complicatedly. She will see you struggling and ask why are you not studying her notes (even though you may not understand then). She can be pretty unsympathetic. Do not take this class.
Math 101 . She is a nice person outside of class, and is willing to help you HOWEVER, she will ask why arent you seeking help/studying notes. During class, she breezes through the lecture. She can be unsympathetic especially if math isnt your best subject. I would not take this class UNLESS you are good at math.
Professor Brislin is extremely helpful any will go out of her way to help if you ask for it. She is willing to stay late/meet as long as it takes to understand subject matter. Most think she is unsympathetic, but if you show effort and try to learn the material she will make sure you do. Do your homework and go to class and it wont be difficult.
