She is super outgoing and friendly. The way she wants assignments done is sooo specific that there is limited room for error, so she grades heavily according to the rubric she provides. If you're confused she is always available via email and is extremely helpful. Open note and open book final. Overall, great teacher. Highly recommend.

She is a really great person, and easy to talk to if any help is needed. really good at helping you find ideas, but is a hard grader, I only received one A in the class and all may other speeches are B's. So that was kinda lame that i ended up getting a B. Makes you really work for an A.

I absolutely loved Patti's speech class this Summer! I have never been part of a class where the professor was so caring, and willing to help me with whatever I needed. The structure of the class is very organized and laid out well. The only thing that the professor requires is that you attend every class. Highly recommended.

This clas was one of the best Ive taken. Patricia cared more about the students getting better and helping them do their best. She was easily reached for help and was willing to help. All you had to do was ask. It was the best class experience Ive had, and I would highly reccomend that you take her class.

She is an amazing teacher very comprehensive and fun. She tries to look out for all her students and helps the best way she can. Goes out of her way to help you pass the class. Ms. Patti is at first intimidating but she just has a big personality. She's the most caring professor I've ever had. She's a tough grader but she FULLY explains the rubric and requirements multiple times. She is always willing to help outside of class. She's really nice and caring for her students! Willing to help them succeed and face the fear of public speaking. Just be aware that the speeches are a big deal, especially for the last one. Must prepare notes, outlines, and practice beforehand. You don't want to get a zero for not having them like what a few (including me) did. Overall, she's okay

Patti is one of the best professors you can run into. The couple speeches that you have to do are mostly based on personal experience or on a topic that you genuinely like. Do the ALL the extra credit that she offers you. She offered office hours even without pay during the summer. Speech, a class everyone NEEDS to take, take it with Patti!

Patti was honestly the best professor I've had thus far at PCC. She will give you a lot of extra credit opportunities so make sure you do them. She is very caring and will take time outside of class to help you pass, make sure you reach out to her. Ms. Delesante is a highly knowledgeable speech communication teacher. She is caring, gives detailed written and verbal feedback, creates a welcoming learning environment and will challenge you. Lectures are captivating. For assignments make sure to carefully read her guidelines. Take advantage of her office hours, and ask her (many) questions.

She is very charismatic that even made the class environment very friendly. I usually don't like participating in class but topics were very interesting that I couldn't resist. 2 of the first assignments, I didn't do so well but she gave me excellent feedback in order to improve my assignments. I had a C the whole session but ended with an A!!! :D

I enjoyed taking this class. It contributed to my love for communication. I did not realize how complex communication can be until all the theories I learned through this course. The Adler and Procter text Looking Out/Looking In is a great book and her lectures were also very thorough. This class was challenging, fun, and rewarding. APA papers!!

Professor Delesante or she like to be called Patti, is a gem there is no material she does not go over and she provides every note in detail. Of course we all have different levels of learning and if you do not understand you can write her an email, let me tell you she response within an hour tops. Incredibly funny, inspirational, and motivational.

A lot of work, but she is nice and caring. She gives good feedback and answers all your questions. She is quick to reply and does well with her lectures. Many short papers, but doable if you put in the effort.

Her instructions are straightforward she replies really fast when you need help. I don't know why there are so many negative reviews she is honestly really kind. If I were to describe Delesante's speech class, I would be here all day as every positive word in the English language is enough to describe this class. The speeches although scary at first overtime get pretty easy to manage and are pretty fun. If I were to recommend a speech class for a semester, take Delesante, trust me, it will be worth it!

Patty is the best prof I had! Few assignments, 6 speeches and extra credit! She explains assignments clearly, gives examples and posts rubrics, follow it and you WILL get an A! She has the kindest soul, always wants the best for her students. She created a family in her class and was always approachable. I wish she could be my prof for all classes.

Patti is a great teacher, She gives out a lot of extra credit and is very clear-cut about their grading. technically coming into the class is not needed but is 100% recommended to help better understand the class and get a better grade than I did. You cannot turn in late work, once it is late, it is late, so be wary of due dates for assignments.

Professor Delesante is very straight forward about the grading system. No late assignments. She goes over the material thoroughly in class and has the lectures and examples available in the modules. All the assignments are listed so there are no surprises. She is very caring and eager to help. I highly recommend this class. It was very enjoyable.

I don't regret taking Ms. Patti's SPCH 01 class this summer! She gives extra credit (don't know about fall/spring terms though), always answers questions, & responds quickly to emails. Attendance ON SPEECH DAYS are required for 5 points of your speech grade! Speech rubrics are always given out. Ms. Patti is personable and makes the class easy!

She's very supportive, teaches us about how we should orient ourselves during a speech, gives excellent feedback on any flaws we have, and improves our speaking skills. Attendance is mandatory because you practice public speaking without a public. Don't procrastinate ever. Late work isn't accepted.

Public speaking is something that many people struggle with but Patti fosters such a supportive classroom environment; I was friends with all my classmates at the end of the semester, which is something I haven't experienced before. Professor delesante was a terrific teacher in my experience. She doesn't rely heavily on lectures or assign harsh grades. She gives very detailed feedback. The only negative aspect I would mention is that she is extremely political, and if you disagree with her on a specific issue, she can become a bit confrontational.
