It is not easy to find a prof. w/ 2 Master's and a PHd. Dr. is not easy, but one of the best teachers I have had anywhere. You will also laugh your ass off in her class.

Dr. Dodd is a cool teacher. She encourages her students to learn on a deeper level and think about their own lives as well as greater issues. She's also nice eye candy!

Probably THE most AWESOME professor I've ever had! Not only does she care about the student's education, she also pushes you to think beyond yourself. I HIGHLY recommend this professor to anyone who wants to have an awesome college experience.

Don't take Dr. Dodd unless you want to be spoonfed leftist propaganda (while she tells you the purpose of college is to learn to think for yourself!) She actually showed *Bowling for Columbine* in a damned English class. She'd be a much, much better teacher if she toned down the politics.

Good class to take if you want to learn. If your lazy and republican, then don't. She is great!

You will learn about things you never learned in school. She is awesome. I wish more teachers took risks to make us learn about whats really going on in the world.

If you like Bush, don't take her...all she does is talk s... about him. Besides that, she is alright, but there is TONS of reading, TONS of papers and quite a few quizes. Definitely not easy.

She's very interesting and is fun to have as a teacher!

She is a very good teacher. Her class is amaizing, she makes you open your eyes to what really matters in this world. She keeps you focus on the real important issues that are happening today. She makes us see that finding out who Anna Nicole's baby daddy is, is not more important than all the innocent lives gone in Iraq. Go Dr. Dodd!!!

This is the best class I have ever taken at Brookhaven! The material, the teacher, and the topics were all very interesting. She will open your eyes and teach you more than just literature, but about the world. My best advice:Do not be lazy or ignorant. Just do what she asks and you will get the grade you deserve, plus come out learning so much.

I made an "A" in Dr. Dodd's class by showing up and reading the text that was asked of us.The class consisted of reading a lot at home and then speakers coming to the classroom. You had to rely on yourself to understand the material most of the time.Was always available to help during office hours.There is a mid-term, Final, and quizzes throughout.

All of you that leave these negative comments about her just don't want to work in her class. If you work hard, study hard and do what you need to (like any other class) you will do fine. She is imtimidating at first but after the first couple of weeks you realize she is just another person. You have to know how to take her comments, very sarcastic

Dr. Dodd is a great teacher she helped me more than she relized. She can be tough but she understands and is driven with what she is talking about in her studies. I have no complaints.

This course was very interesting and challenging. She can be opinionated but you can deal with it because we all learn from each other in spite of our disagreements. I have no regrets taking this class and I am extremely thankful to have taken it. If it wasn?t for her I would have been in trouble with another class.

I loved her class and plan to take more. The courework is hard and challenging. If you take this class you must be mature and prepared to work. Dr. Dodd may seem intimidating at first... because she expects good work and effort. She lets the students pick most of the topics for their papers. You get to write about what interests you!

Some have posted that Dr. Dodd is intolerant of other opinions. When I took her class I had some discussions with her about topics we disagreed on. If you can successfully defend your position she respects you. Those who complain about her intolerance either have faulty beleifs or do not know how to defend them. She challenges you. Thats the point.

EXCELLENT teacher! not only teaches ACADEMIC but how to be a human. I would take every class dat she teaches and wen it runs out i will join one of her clubs. AMAZING human being. This teacher seriously is a great teaacher that we need more of. She is straightforward with what she wants and doesn't take crap from you. You better know how to write and be willing to read - but it is WORTH the challenge. Great class, BUT not for those who are lazy!!!

Professor is hard to like at beginning of semester but eases up close to the end. There is a lot of reading involved in her class so if you don't like to read then do NOT take her class because you will fail.

She dislikes the fact that the USA is slipping in terms of academia and she wants everyone to know about it.As long as you express yourself reasonably she is a reasonable person. I disagreed with her almost every day vocally. I never read anything and got a 2/5 on all of my quizzes over reading, but I wrote excellent papers and I got a B.

I hear Dodd is coming back for summer. Glad I waited to take composition from her. Great teacher, if you are a serious student and want to learn.

She is a great professor! I'm taking her for my 1302 and humanities class! I love the way she teaches. She's very inspiring and very easy going! She understands your problems and will help you with your weakness. She's very open minded! I love her! If I was a guy I would have a professor crush on her. Her personality makes the class interesting.

Tough but fair. Either hates you or loves you. No in between. No Middle Ground. Even if she hates you though, she'll still be fair. Likes leaders, volunteers.

One of the best professors EVER! I absolutely loved taking her classes. Certain people don't like her because of her unpopular views, but they don't understand her sense of humor.

Her class was one of the best english classes I have taken. The papers allowed us to think more outside of our normal boxes which it allowed me to become more open minded and appreciate education more. She is an amazing teacher and what I love is that she shows she is just like us rather than a professor who treats the students like there no good.

Inspirational-but def an acquired taste. She is head strong and has such a big heart. She is a great teacher that comes off hard but is truly a softly inside. Understanding and compassionate about what she does and who she works with. Great if your open minded and willing to listen and follow.

This teacher is truly ardent about what she does. She has traveled many places and is still learning herself. I took her 1302 composition class this summer and though she was steadfast on her standards I most definitely feel like my writing improved. She only cares as much as the student cares, so give it 100 and she will return 100.

I took her 1302 ENGL class after taking her 1301 class. I love her to death! Walk around the campus and you'll never find someone like her. She does not care what others think or her and stands for her beliefs. Very nice and understanding. Also teaches great! She's the type who gives you everything if you give her everything too.

I took her for English 1302 and am taking her for World Lit as well. She is a phenomenal teacher who is willing to work with anyone. She is loud, funny, and has an amazing teaching strategy. I have grown on this woman and recommend her to everyone. You put in your effort with her and she gives it right back. Dont be the slacker, be her strength!

I took her for 1301 and loved her so much I took her again for 1302. She was and still is very inspirational, and a strict but great teacher. She is clear and will go out of her way to help you but only if you also put in the effort.

She is such an inspiration professor. The work in this class is very simple just time consuming. It's very easy to pass this class, you just need to take time to do the work for her. She definitely does not like slackers to if you don't want to to the work then you should not take this class. She is very spirited and helpful. I recommend her :)

I had Dodd for World Lit last year. She put up with a lot of crap teaching at a community college. We were lucky to have a professor of her caliber. It is unfortunate that good people like her were treated badly by idiots. I hope she goes and teaches in a country that respects education!

Took Dodd for English 1302 and 2332. She rocked a classroom. If you don't like her you have problems as a student. She taught us like we were at a university. She wasn't into remedial work or babysitting.

Took Dodd for English 1301, and 1302. She is a REAL teacher: here to teach, not to babysit. She expects you to read, which makes complete sense, and write, which seems logical for a writing class. I loved the classes, and learned a lot: my writing in English was much better at the end

She teaches at Houston Community College now and she was a little disorganized because she was still moving from Dallas. You must read to succeeded. The assignments are fun and interesting! actually apply yourself and you will not only learn but enjoy what professor Dodd has to offer. The work isn't difficult but you have to read in order to pass. You will not be handed a A but if you work for it, you will have no problem obtaining it.
