This is a research class that requires analysis of texts. She had us analyze speeches which are great pieces of literature.,she want you to actually learn something historically meaningful, not just pretty words. When she changes assignments its to help you. She works with students- not against them.

dr. dodd is amazing. she's tough yeah but all you have to do is be eager to learn and have a tough skin. she'll teach you anything as long as you are respectful of yourself and others. she will care for you if you show interest.

Not an easy A at all, but I did get an A by doing the work. You will have to read and not skip what she tells you to read. The test was long, but not too tough. But if you skipped reading some parts, you will miss some questions. The grading was fair I think. The class was actually fun though. I learned about lots of things that matter.

I took professor Dodd for my HUMA 1301. It was her first time teaching online, but overall she made it a breeze. If you do your daily readings her weekly papers would be easy. The course did require us to visit museums, plays and festivals. Overalls she's a very good and very helpful teacher!

Dr. Dodd is a world traveling human rights activist. She's great and really knows her stuff. She comes off a bit know it all to some, but others recognize her as honest. She really cares about getting back to you if you have questions for her, just make sure the answer isn't on eagle online or she will kindly chew you up for wasting her time.

I took HUMA in the spring. The readings were interesting because the subject is. She's fair if you ask her for help in writing responses. If it's a technical problem she'll tell you to call the help desk. I soent the standard amount of time reading every week and she would let me know when I slack ed. Many professors don't do much but she does.

I took humanities at UH and dropped. I enjoy the field trips and the book is good. I'm glad we are not writing research papers. Field trips are interesting and get me out into seeing places I wouldn't normally go. Good teacher. She emails back promptly and listens to concerns.

She makes you read but the reading is interesting. She talks a lot about what's going on in the world and how we fit into in from different backgrounds. I learned a lot about living in the US and how to think more critically. She works with you to improve your writing and isn't boring.

This teacher has been great about answering questions. She even stopped requiring writing every week to help busy students. The reading took about an hour for a chapter. Glad I took this class to prepare me for the reading amount I will do. Later on. The midterm was multiple choice. I like field trips instead of writing a research papers.

She is well-traveled and likes to push the boundaries from the same usual boring classroom routines to museum/religious temple visits. Professor Dodd is a tough grader but only because she genuinely wants you to succeed. She's tough on you especially if she sees the potential in you. Be prepared to read but she gives interesting topics to read such as Sufism poetry and dante's inferno. I've taken her for ENGL 1301 and now 2322 and would recommend her. I love her class.

Patricia Dodd is an excellent professor. She had to replace our original instructor. At first we all were sorta overwhelmed by this change, but Dr. Dodd taught the class what we needed to learn. The beginning of the class consist of weekly quizzes over the readings. The later part of the class is the essays. She's very clear on what she wants so it's not hard to make an A if you follow the guidelines. See the writing tutor before submitting anything and you'll do great. She was a wonderful professor and I recommend her!

Im not sure what that student meant by easy A. Shes not. You have to read in this class. But is college so thats expected. The readings were interesting. I learned a lot about whats going on and how I can make a difference with my own words. Think twice before sending her an email if you can find your own answer.

I'm glad my first minimester experience was with her. She is extremely caring, gives constructive feedback, and participates in the discussions and tries to relate to her students. She is always available through email and even offers help without you having to ask. Just follow her instructions and she will do her best to make sure you succeed.

I can say that D.r Dodd is a great professor. She not only demanded a lot of effort at the beginning, but she also gave students many opportunities to increase their grades. If you really want to learn, you must choice her.

I took this class for a 5-week summer course. This class is nowhere near easy. You will need to write multiple papers back to back. This professor will point out all mistakes and expects you to master writing by the end or her course. She is smart and knows what she is talking about. You will need to dedicate time and put effort to pass.

She is hard. No late work accepted. No excuses. You need to know grammar before you take 1302 which is basically a research writing class. I learned so much, especially how to manage my time , read and edit my work! Taking an easy Prof is bad in the long run. If you really want to learn you take her but don't waste her time. She hates laziness!

This class was more than just a composition core credit. The Nonviolence theme was inspirational. Dr. Dodd shares her well traveled experiences accompanied with strong outlooks that get you to think about a reality outside of your own bubble. Her lectures and assignments can be enlightening in so many ways if you participate with quality effort.

There was definitely a LOT of homework and they all include writing. Dr. Dodd gives feedback on every assignment though. She may seem harsh, but she genuinely cares about helping you improve your writing. She also curved our final grades. I recommend taking her.
