She is a great teacher. My class was three hours long and she made it fun to go to. Make sure though you stay up to date with her website. Some test questions come from it.

Best class I've EVER had, best teacher I've EVER had. She gives notes which make studying and following along quite easy. Has guest speakers on a regular basis, and does great class discussions. I made sure I never skipped a class. Donuts on the last day of class!

Great teacher. Presents material in organized fashion and is enthusiastic about her work. Easy course even if you're not amazing at Math. The music before class is a nice break from the mold also! Highly recommended!

I went to class every day and learned the course topics with ease. Dr. Hawley is a great teacher who really cares about her students and actually makes Psyc stats fun. She is the best professor I have had at KU.

Great teacher! Very good at showing how the topics fit into the big picture. Class is always interesting and her discussions are well guided. If you attend and pay attention, this class is not that difficult. Definitely worth taking if you are interested and willing to do the work.

Best teacher I've ever had. Great discussions and interesting topics. Never a dull moment. Tests aren't bad, just show up to class and you'll do fine. If you ever have a chance to take a class from her, do it!

Dr. Hawley is wonderful! She is a great professor, is interesting and very fun (she even has a facebook account so she can keep contact with her students). She is also very passionate about statistics and teaching. Very helpful! Take psyc stats with Dr. Hawley!

An interesting character who knows what she is talking about. Somewhat sarcastic approach to teaching that can come off as snobbish, but she's really quite nice. I would recommend this class if you want to actually learn something about statistics. Don't be fooled by first test, subsequent tests get harder. Make sure you study for them.

Professor Patricia Hawley is a very astute, brilliant, and qualified professor. It was a privilege and a great pleasure for me to be part of her class of Statistics. Due to her great and wonderful methods of teaching, I have learned a great deal about Statistics in a relatively shot period of time. I WILL recommend students to her class.

Dr. Hawley is the best professor I've ever had. Even though I wasn't very interested in Stats before I took the class, she made it fun (I also happened to learn quite a bit). If you actually want to learn something, and you can get in to any of her classes, definitely do it!

There is a lot of information on all of the tests. If you pay attention in class and take good notes, reading the book is mostly a useful tool. P.Hawley is great. I mostly appreciated her responsiveness to her students. She caters her class to the comments and questions of the class, and focuses on a lot of current information.Take the class!

Very good teacher, keeps class interesting. Exams are from material studied and a student will do well if they use the study guide and pay attention in class.

The course material was definately interesting, and it was presented in an entertaining manner. The tests were not too difficult as long as you attended class. She really cared about student opinion of the subject material and engaged the students to think about the concepts being discussed.

Evolution was the class and it was pretty amazing stuff. She is a 'students teacher' and would go out of her way to help you. Tests come from lecture notes and some book stuff. The book was interesting and well chosen. She has a great style and sense of humor and she is kinda cute.

She is a great teacher that makes her subject (PSYC Stats) understandable. The class does require a little work but she offers plenty of opportunities to get a good grade (practice tests, reviews, extra credit). Study for the tests to do well. If you need any help, don't be afraid to ask, she is very helpful once you get to know her!

Very interesting lectures, I actually enjoyed going to class! She is hilarious and makes the class fun & worthwhile. Tests are easy if you study the slides she puts online. Course work includes: writing assignments (choose 5 out of 12), discussion board posts, & tests. Extra cred points for attendance & lots of easy ex cred surveys she puts online

easiest class ive ever taken. tons of extra credit. dont have to go to class but you get extra credit for going. you have to do 5 writing assignments and a few discussion board posts. she posts study guides for tests. so easy and somewhat interesting

It was a big lecture class so the GTA's handled most questions regarding school work. Had to do a weekly blackboard discussion which sucked and 5 small papers on top of the 3 tests. Not to bad though. She also gave extra credit for coming to class.

I enjoyed Professor Hawley's course. The textbook is interesting and her lectures are very good, usually had me paying attention the whole time. Tests are easy if you read and it helps to go to lecture and go over powerpoints. I also have a crush on Dr. Hawley because I think she is beautiful and funny. Professor Hawley is a wonderful lecturer. Her lectures are both informative and interesting. She makes a lot of great jokes that keep class fun. She is also extremely helpful. Attendance is mandatory, but the class is so enjoyable that that is not a problem.

I love Prof.Hawley. Her class is interesting and easy if you know how to study for it. I skipped this class many times, and since attendance is only for extra credit, it's fine. You can print off the lecture notes or read the book. I studied the book thouroughly and got A's on all the tests. Need to attend classes for videos etc, things not in book

Hawley may seem somewhat intimidating at first, but she is very much willing to help her students. Lectures were enjoyable and fairly easy to follow along with. She does a great job of interacting with the entire class and keeping the class engaged in the material. I would highly recommend taking a class with her.

PEA is a wonderful instructor! Earning an A in the class takes effort though. 1) attendance is mandatory for pts. 2) discussion posts must be completed about once a week. 3) journal entries are submitted 3x in the semester. 4) do everything she announces on blackboard/email for EC! Her tests cover lecture, txtbk, and readings! follow the syllabus!

A wonderful professor!! Her lectures are interesting and engaging. Don't be afraid to ask her questions or go to her office hours because she is willing to help. If you go to class everyday and do what is assigned, getting an A is very doable. My favorite professor at KU!!1

Pea Hawley is the best professor I experienced at the University of Kansas, hands down. Her innovative approach to a discussion-based, interactive and dynamic class model was conducive to learning and even fun most of the time. Her witty personality keeps things interesting. No tests, yet more learning. Plus, she's not too hard on the eyes!

Dr. Hawley is by far the best professor at KU that I have had yet. Let me tell you, I have never been good at math. It has always been my worst subject, but she makes it so easy and comprehensible. Her quirky humor and personality has made it such a fun semester for me. She wants you to succeed, and she is available for students who need help.

Pea Hawley is hip. Her class is mandatory but its also interesting. She paces the room and engages the class making the room feel smaller than it is. Everything about the class is fair. You won't be tricked on tests and the db and writing assignments aren't graded like its an English class. If I could take another class with P. I would.

Dr.(Pea) Hawley was an awesome professor. I had no interest in taking Child Dev but it is a required course for Psych majors; I'm so glad I took it with her. She made the class fun, interesting, & engaging. She made it feel like the class was much smaller than it was (over 400 students). Tests were multi choice, but if you study, you will do well.

Although Pea Hawley was a good professor during lectures, what she was best at was her interactions with students. She was extremely open minded, helpful, and happy to help students. I would highly recommend her for this course.

Pea is a very engaged & intelligent professor. She sheds light on topics that most child dev classes wont touch. She is thought provoking and breathes life into what COULD be a boring class. I appreciated her perspective and that she pushed students to question themselves and science. One of the best KU profs.

This class is pretty easy to do well in, for tests just study the study guides and you should do well. You can find the majority of the answers for it in the slides and then fill in any gaps with the textbook. Pea is probably the best and most interesting professor to take child psyc with.

I miss her class. Pea's teaching style at first seems kind of different for a large class but it makes class very energetic and feel like a small 30 student class. I asked her for help many times through out the semester. Her test are quite easy if you attend class and read over the lecture slides. Later in the semester is where it gets alot of fun

Dr. Hawley is an amazing professor. She teaches with great clarity and great knowledge and really promotes involvement in her class, and uses methods like portfolio entries rather than tests to promote real learning and creativity in students rather than pushing them to memorize answers. Her psyc 555 is about thinking not about memorizing.

Dr. Hawley is my favorite teacher at KU. I had her for PSYC 210 and am taking this class because she was the teacher and next semester I signed up for PSYC 435 because she is the teacher. She demands a lot out of her students and makes you work hard, but it is worth it. I love her teaching style and she makes you WANT to go to class.

Pea Hawley is my most favorite teacher in history of all the teachers I am taken. I have taken two classes with her, and subjects that I was never really interested in prior, but afterwards, It became my favorite. During the four year of my undergraduate career, Dr. Hawley might just be the best professor that I have had while at KU. Her class is fun, interesting, and an overall great learning experience. She's also hilarious, if you like intelligent humor.

This was one of my favorite classes I have taken. Dr. Hawley is an amazing professor who really engages in the material and makes the class a lot of fun. Course material is relevant to our lives, unlike most of the classes we have to take. If you're looking for a class to take, I would recommend any class of hers, but this was especially great!

Dr. Hawley is perhaps the best professor I have had in the psychology program at KU. She makes the course material iteresting, requires that students contextualize course material into writing assignments, and promotes analytical and critical thinking. There is a lot of writing in the class, but it is well worth the effort.

Interesting class with a subject that I think everyone should be required to learn about in college. Similar and less in depth than than Anthropology of Sex with Sandra Gray. A LOT of work, but not necessarily hard work.

Absolute BEST professor I could have ever had at the University of Kansas. An incredibly valuable asset to the University and my college career would not have been complete without her. I truly learned so much not to mention she makes learning so down to earth and fun. Everyone should take any of her classes! Love her.

A pleasant surprise when taking a class that was to serve double duty as a prereq for nursing and another degree. She is remarkably intelligent, yet able to communicate to all students. Fantastic in her presentation. KU lost a great professor when she left for TX Tech.
