her class is very easy if you read her notes, and she does'nt give a lot of notes in her powerpoint. if you read you pass. make sure you study the keyterms in your book . quizzes are pretty fair. whoever talks wrong about her in this page shouldn't be in school seriously. i go out partying almost every night and i still got an A.

Good professor; do the readings, go to class and you will be fine. Her lectures are interesting and she does make you think of material in a new light. Highly recommend, but know going into it that you will get what you earn, however it is fairly easy to earn an A.

The best teacher I had at FSU so far after taking 3 semesters (including one summer). She was very interesting and made you think a lot about criminology in ways you would never think about. I enjoyed going to her class. If you go to class and study for tests, you will be fine.

If criminology is your major. Take a advantage of taking her course. Extremely easy. Quizzes are easy. Exams are easy as well. Attendance is not required but she will throw in a pop quiz one time during the semester. So attend regulary.

She is an excellent Prof. she knows her stuff. The class isn't easy, you have to work, several quizzes and a couple of test, they aren't that bad but study for them. She is always poking fun at criminals and engages a lot of class discussion. I would take her again. The only problem with the class is it's a lot of theory and I hate theory.

My suggestion is to print out the slides before class and come prepared to take extra notes on it...Def study the powerpoints, but you have to study the book to get a good grade. She takes attendance in class but it didnt help your grade. Questions come from the powerpoints. The book wasnt too helpful. YOu have announced quizes from the reading. The tests are not difficult. THe final is optional. Interesting class alot of class discussion.

Don't listen to the people who say that she's the best teacher at FSU. She isn't, and her class isn't that great. If you read the chapters, take notes in class, and show up for the quizzes and exams then you should be fine. She's funny and the discussions are entertaining, but honestly, it gets old after a while.

I liked Dr. Warren. And if you failed her class, you didn't study, you didn't come to class and still expected to pass, you didn't pass or got a c and are now talking down on the teacher. Its always the professors fault. It is college, not elementary. Her test are one of the most easiest! Her quizzes are the same. She is a great teacher.

Dr. Warren is a great instructor. She is clear on what is expected of you on quizzes and tests, and makes the final exam optional if you are happy with your grade. Her humor isn't in my taste but I still enjoyed her lectures. Definitely take her.

BEST criminology teacher I've had at FSU. She is so entertaining and so helpful. Her class is always interesting and she makes you think twice about everything you think you know. She usually tells you when the quizzes are and tells you what chapters they're on. Pretty simple and fair! Overall, she's a WONDERFUL teacher and I would take her anyday!

Warren is very amusing and knowledgable of the criminal justice system. She makes attending class enjoyable.

Dr. Warren is absolutely an amazing professor. She is dedicated to her job and her students. She is very passionate about what she is teaching and it makes it easier to understand. Prof Warren was an AMAZING teacher. She makes the material interesting and relates it to everyday subject matter. She almost ALWAYS tells you when a quiz is, and theyre on the basics in the chapter so just read the Keypoints. I got a 100 on every quiz and an A in the class. Make sure you GO TO CLASS because she gives extra credit! FAV. CLASS BY FAR

Cool teacher! She sometimes has biased opinions (like who should get arrested/who shouldn't) And she will most likely look at you like you're an idiot if you actually speak in her class a couple times. Nonetheless, cool teacher, straight to the point. No problems with the class. I think I should have an A or B, just read and remembered key terms!

She in one of those people who got their doctrine and thinks she is the smartest person in the world. Her TA actually does everything. She is an extremely ignorant individual and treats you as if your the ignorant one. Yea we get it your a doctor, your smarter than us.. Relax and stop reminding you undergrads... Got a B+... but wish I never met her

Very easy teacher. Gave lots of short quizes about once a week and attendance was a part of your grade. Two tests-one midterm and one final- both consisting of 5 chapters each. If you do well on the midterm then you don't take the final. Just read and you should be fine. By far the easiest class at FSU.

Easy class, good teacher. She is funny and keeps class interesting. Encourages participation and listens to what you have to say. Tests aren't bad at all, everything comes right from the book.

I enjoyed this course. The Prof. provided an interesting take on Race/Ethnicity & Crime. There are 2 or 3 required texts and articles assigned per class, a take home exam, leading discussion, and a final paper each student is responsible for. My only criticism is that we did not always go over all the readings thoroughly, but it was a fun course.

Take any class with this professor especially if it's online

Her class is so fun to go to and she keeps it very interesting. She is very opinionated though and if you don't agree with her you won't like her because she will call you out and tell you you're wrong. Only grades are two tests and a final. The tests are hard and directly from the book. You have to study ALOT. Her final is online and super simple.

She was really interested and made me think about things that I had not considered. Her exams are hard but she cares about her students.

Hightower is definitely a teacher that makes you work for it. You absolutely need the textbook and you NEED to know the theories. Do not memorize definitions for the theories, but rather understand what they are trying to explain. Also study vocabulary and the checkpoints in the textbook. Study A LOT and you will come out with the grade you want.

2 exams and 2 writing assignments, writing assignments were pretty easy and graded easily but exams were specific - you definitely need to read the book to do well on her exams. Material is pretty dry but she managed to keep class interesting, overall good professor

The TA does most of the grading for everything so you never actually deal with Hightower directly, unless you chose to. The weekly discussion boards were easy and almost a free 10/10 as long as you did them. The two exams (midterm & final) were weighed fairly heavily compared to everything else, but if you actually study for them, they're easy

Dr. Warren is very knowledgeable and knows her materials so well she can teach it backwards, she's a tough grader only because she want what's best for her students, her test are extremely hard so you must study to pass her class, She's very caring and helpful, I really enjoyed being a part of her class, one of the best professors at FSU. Dr. Warren is very knowledgable. She knows the material. Her lectures are interesting but she gives a quiz once a week and the lectures do not help with that. Quizzes are 80% of your final grade so you must study to do well. a 95 is an A-.

Dr. Warren is a great professor! She is very determined to teach students and enhance their thinking. She gives a quiz every week (12 quizzes total) because she doesnt give exams. 2 written assignments that are really easy. You definitely need the textbook btw.

Dr. Warren always makes me feel welcome & appreciated. Her lectures are very clear & straightforward. We covered 1 chapter a week with a discussion board/quiz to match it (during your scheduled discussion time). It's a lot of material to cover but she's always willing to help if you reach out. Dr. Warren is a good teacher and good at explaining class concepts from the perspective of the real world. If you go to class familiar with what she will cover (read the book), listen, and read the instructions you'll be fine.

This professor is amazing, but the course is difficult. There are about 6 quizzes that are all on honor lock and must read the textbook if you want to do well on them, along with stuff the information really well. She offered extra credit like 3 times just for attending class and this boosted my grade significantly.

Dr. Warren Hightower was an excellent professor. She took time with me when I had problems. She did everything she could to help me and I would take her class again. Ignore the complainers, they are just lazy. Also, so one on here complained about the cost of honorlock. FSU is charging that - not her.

I took Juvenile Delinquency with Dr. Hightower and the class was challenging because of the amount of information. But she was helpful and is a master at explaining the information. I like her a lot and would take her class again.

I really enjoyed Dr. Hightower's course. 3011 is a required course and she did what should could to assist me with learning the information. I would take her again. I took Dr. Hightower for her online class. I loved the way she explained the material. This is a theory course and requires a lot of reading. She is very kind and knowledgeable. I would take any class she teaches.

I did not get an A in her course but she is very helpful if you reach out to her. Most students just want to party at FSU and they are only want to take courses that help them do that.

It took Dr. Highower's graduate level race, crime and social policy course. She is really amazing at teaching the ideas. In FL we can't talk about race in classes anymore, so she cannot teach the course. I would take another sensitive topic course with her. She is an excellent professor.

I really liked this professor. She is a tough grader but she is really kind and fair to students. I took a class with her that has 60 students enrolled but on any given class only 30 might show up. Then they get on here and complain about grades. Trust me everyone, take Dr. Hightower's class. She really loves her job.

I have to admit, there are only 4 quizzes that make up your grade for the class and an optional 5th quiz, the quizzes are tough. She is very honest and is very clear in what she expects. Her lectures are really good, you just have to review it and study it before taking quiz. She is for sure one of my favorite people to take online classes with.

Despite the reviews, I really enjoyed Dr. Hightower's lectures. She made them fun, interesting, and worth being there. You rarely go to discussion and instead do discussion boards at home. Only exams are chapter quizzes taken in person. You definitely have to read the book to do well in the class. Beware that an A is a 95%+.

Although attendance isn't mandatory, I highly recommend attending class, as Dr. Hightower's lectures are amazing. The class comprises of 4 quizzes and 5 discussion posts, so make sure you study! The quizzes are fairly simple, made up of 20 questions (MCQs and t/f).
