Here's how it is, in the middle of the semester your partnered up with someone she picks out for you depending on a test. Then she gives you a hard assignment to work on the whole day and if you do 1 thing wrong you have to do it over and over and you have to do like 13 of them.
is not nice to students and does not work well with students with disablitys and puts people down when they dont do thing right and insults by rude and mean commets worst teacher ever should not be at citrus college at citrus WORST TEACHER EVER does not care about students only her perfect sons

She'll mark you absent and grade you down even when you let her know ahead of time. She'll go outside and smoke a ciagarette during class time, and she talks out you and puts you down. AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE!!!
Fell Bad for anyone who has her she is mean and very hard. if you do one thing wrong she will blow up at you in front of the whole class. if anyone has her Drop her ASAP or you will be sorry she is tuff. lawrence is very unclear on assignments, Embarrasses you infront of class, Favors students, not helpful, grades very hard, and rude to some disability students.

OKaY...WeLL sHes AllRiGhT. if your lazy, dont take her. if you BS work, she'll find out. she looks at every little thing. personally, shes mean. but lay low, do ur work, and ur fine. shes not scary. just dont say anything stupid, or ask DUMB questions. she's tough. so be on the look out! she just wants to see her students prosper in the aspect of writing. GOOD LUCK.
I don't not like her as a person. She is very snothy to people, and gets mad very easily and hates to repeat something more than once even if you do not understand or hear her correctly. She flips out when you click your pen or tap a pencil since most of us students do it as just a habit and don't even realize it. She always says we do it on purpose not matter what and theres no doubt about that. She alsogives quizes every week and you have to study well or course every night on eveything or you won'r pass.

She is a horrible teacher. She belittles everyone and she makes us feel like we are nothing. Everyone gets into fights with her and she deserves it because she is a ****. I told my counselor and english 101 teacher who I was taking for reading and they both said "im sorry". Do not take her! Take Vancitters. Vancitters gave me a B.

She is a witch. I did everything I could in her class to at least get a C and she gave me an F. I have a little sleeping disorder too, and one time my eyes were closing a little bit and she got in my face about it. Beware of this b****!
OMG she is definitely the WORST teacher i have EVER had in my life. she is not helpful in the least bit and gets upset over every little thing anybody does. she calls college students "junior high" and "immature" and she threatens to kick people out over little things. She NEVER explains anything, and she WILL yell at the class and call you "inmature" and should still be in jr high. I got in trouble one time because I sniffled in her class. Since I'm in college I should be able to controll my bodily functions. Yes thats right controll my bodily functions. It didnt matter to her that i was very sick with the flu.

The Professor is a very difficult person. She become easily aggitated, disrepectful and Threatening when you qustion her actions or lack of them. Dont expect any postive feed back when it comes to a wrong answer. I do not recommend her to anyone since teaching people seems to be a burdon to her.
This teacher should not be teaching. She is very hard and not very nice to her students. She once compared her classes to a zoo, out of control and not focused. She makes Citrus College look bad. I gave her a lot of time b4 I came to any JUDGEMENT. She is rude, dresses like shes homeless,going through Menopause (due to her irritability) and seems to HATE her job. She scribbles notes all over your papers (I think its to make her feel REAL intelligent). I've come 2 the conclusion that she wants to fail ALL, so No one can take her job.
it is impossible to please this woman. she makes you feel like you are incapable of being in college. do not think you can handle her. YOU CANT!! she is rude, and just blatantly one of the most awful people i have ever met. drop her class immediatly...unless you like being on the verge of tears when you get your graded papers back.

She is quite a difficult teacher to please. I've come to the conclusion no matter how good of a paper you write, there's always something wrong with it. The scribbles all over the essay really do make you feel like you can't write a decent paper. Maybe try another teacher if you want a good grade.

She is a difficult teacher that stands in front of the class and speaks in a monotone type of voice while staring at everyone. She is strict on papers and will mark you down regardless of effort. I do not recommend her.

Worse teacher ever! It doesn't matter how well you do, how many people you have proofread your papers who are professionals in the field of English, you will earn an "F". In fact, she loves the super "F" and giving it on a regular basis. There is no one in our class with a grade higher than a "D". Do yourself a favor by taking someone else!
dont take this class unless you know everything there is to know about english writing. she grades really hard but is a nice teacher. she flat out tells you if you get a c in her class in any other class it is a A
She is honestly helpful if you ask for help, but she won't give you the answer. She will only explain it in her way. i would never take a class that she teaches . She is not fair in her grading. You can try all you want but if it is not correct or her way she will give you a bad grade.
Please don't take her.I was in the 6 week course & oh my does she give ALOT of work...mostly reading [it was bearly the 3rd dayy]We had a quiz the 3rd day of class! She is very strict,picky,straight forward and really doesn't have the patience to answer your questions.I do not recommend her at all.

This is a very hard class, so if English isn't your forte, then I suggest you find another professor. She is hard on her students but it's because the audience that ENG99 usually brings, young kids that think act like they're still in high school. If you want to pass, you're going to work for it. Her standards are very high, but for good reason.

Extremely helpful when it comes to grammar; but she is very hard grader, a friend of mine from Eng 103 helped me finished a essay and still got a low grade. If you really want to learn sth,you should take this class. A is not guaranteed.
This professor is the best I have taken at Citrus. I really enjoyed her course. However, she is a tough professor. If English is not your thing, I would not recommend her. She grades hard and has high expectations, picky, and expects her students to really apply themselves and listen. I was in English 99 and I received a C.
This was the hardest class I've taken in my life. Roller coaster of liking and disliking this professor. Ultimately ended up liking this professor; she's just rough to weed out the brats. If you struggle in the first two weeks, just drop. It only gets harder. The final is excruciatingly hard.
she is pretty tough and straight forward, if you really need help with ideas and writing I would go to the writing café, she's not too helpful when it comes to corrections.she would have you go to your peers or ask why you thinks it's wrong but I get it, shes making you think. I did end up liking her in the end she helped me learn to write properly

Professor Lawrence will grade your papers as if you are in ENG 103, and expect you to know every detail of the English language. Her tests she will changes the answers to depending on how she feels a paper is written. She would rather be teaching Eng 103 and makes no bones about it. Do not take any class with this professor.
Honestly professor Lawrence is one of the best teachers I have ever had. She is tough and challenges you, but if you apply yourself and try hard in her class you will do good. This class is not for slackers. Professor Lawrence taught me so much this semester. I wish she taught 101or 103 because she's such an amazing professor.
I will never forget her. She taught me so much! Her class IS challenging. The "paragraphs" that honestly feel like essays were 20 points and if she didnt like a word you used she will mark it down including spelling and other errors. My friends and I sometimes would get zeros:/ you have to be kinda good in English to pass. *Study and ask for help*
I feel like she didn't do her job as an educator. If I or anyone else in my class had an issue understanding the material or assignments she wasn't very helpful.
She is an amazing Professor. Her class is challenging but worth taking. I took her class during the summer but had to withdraw three weeks in. I acquired new and improved my writing skills in that short period of time. Would definitely accept the challenge again for the Fall.
Not pleased with Professor Lawrence at all. She does not explain herself, and is sarcastic and rude when questions are asked. She grades on things she had not yet taught. She is very unapproachable. Her teaching style is horrid. I can not believe I had to pay to be taught and treated this way.
She is not a real teacher. You should not consider taking from her because she does not really teach you. If you have a problem and ask a question, she will not answer accurately to your needs. I took her English 99 class over the summer, and that was a huge mistake. She CLEARLY did not want to be there. There's nothing that makes a four-hour class worse than a dull teacher who makes you feel bad about making mistakes. I could only imagine how awful her class is during a full semester.

This professor is unreal! She is unapproachable, rude, unclear with her instruction, and just down right unpleasant!!! Such a negative experience for me. Glad to say that she has been my only negative experience as far as professors go here at Citrus.

This professor is very rude and made threatening remarks against me. Out of 35 students only 2 to 4 students passed. her handouts are very vague and are very confusing to understand. Every time I tried to ask her a question, she stares at me and expects that I have already know how to do the assignment. Bottom line, This class is not recommended.

This class was such a challenge. Lawrence is very hard and pretty picky with your work. If you do not have a great thesis or topic sentence, you get an automatic 0 on your paper. Eng 99 is to prepare you for Eng 101; however, Professor Lawrence makes it seem as if your already in Eng 101. She expects a lot , she is tough, and she is intimidating. If your a quick learner take her, but if you require more help and don't want to be scared to ask something take Ghada Hogan she's great.
She expects a lot from students. She marks every little thing on essays and sometimes make you re-do them. She's very hard to please with essays no matter how good your essay may seem, she will mark something wrong. Overall, her class is tough but if you manage to not give up and do your best you should be good.
I had to drop this class, right away. I had a family emergency the first day of class; and I ask her as soon as I saw her If I could leave ten minutes earlier; and she didn't even allow me to explain my situation. she just said no, in front of everyone I was so embarrassed. she has no compassion what so ever.

Professor Lawrence is a 'my way or the highway" type of instructor. Everything about writing papers must be done her way or she makes you re-do the whole paper. By far the least flexible instructor at Citrus College. She will shame you in front of the class if given the opportunity. Highly not recommended unless you need the class.
this is was actually a hard class but who said college was going to be easy. she honestly prepares you for the next class.
She is a great professor. She made me work hard for my grade and in doing so helped me to write much better. I went in this class, and had forgotten how to effectively write. If i could be half as good as she is when my life is over i will consider myself a self made person.

This was very difficult. On the other hand, I really did enjoy taking professor Lawrence. She taught me an immense of amount of information in such a short time and I respect her for that. I was scared going into her class. I thoroughly enjoyed her class from beginning to end. Thank you professor Lawrence for preparing me for my next step.

Horrible, professor with low quality in respect for her students. Asking questions is a no-no; she will make you feel stupid in front of the class for asking and most likely won't answer it. She is also a confusing and hard grader; one day she saids approves your work the next day she disapproves it. (Same paper) Should she be taken? No!!!!!!!!

This professor is a very harsh grader,keeps bragging about how her sucessful students are better than you and if one needs needs help, Tough luck there. One would be lucky to get an answer from her. Other times the instructor assumes students know the answer already. Avoid this class at all costs. Not worth the suffering.
If you actually want to learn, take this class. I am truly thankful for how hard Professor Lawrence was. Yes, she can be a tough grader and may come off as mean or rude, but she definitely knows what she is doing. I took this class in 2013 and I am still referring to the notes I took in her class whenever I have to write an essay.
