Great Sign Language Teacher; doesn't take attendance but you have to attend the class at least most of the time to learn the signs. Very easy class; she is very easy to talk to, very down to Earth. I wish she taught Sign Language II!
Great class, very helpful and very clear with signs. Quizzes are easy and known far ahead of time, the (little) homework we had was very easy. Great class, great teacher.
she's the best !! trust me on this...
I love Pat!!! She is an amazing teacher and very nice as well. I came into her class not knowing one sign in ASL, and I walked out of that class with an A. Great, wonderful teacher!!!
She is so awesome!!!! Best teacher I've ever had. She's so nice and friendly and she cracks jokes during class all the time. She's very aproachable and makes learning sign fun. If you get the chance, take her!
she very cool and off the chain
She was great!! Made sign so much fun.. i really enjoyed her..very funny..i recommend her for students who want to learn sign language!
I took her in Fall'04 and absoulutly loved her..she is helpful...and clear....and makes everything fun...TAKE HER
SHE IS THE BEST SIGN LANGUAGE TEACHER IN THE WORLD. SHE MADE THE CLASS SO FUN, I LEARNED SO MANY INTERESTING THINGS IN HER CLASS. IF YOU GOT TO TAKE SIGN I, I SUGGEST THAT PAT BE YOUR TEACHER IF YOU WANT TO HAVE FUN AND GET A GOOD GRADE.
I love this teacher. She is so clear and makes Sign Lang so easy to learn. I advise anyone who wants a great Sign Lang teacher to get into her class. Great Teacher!
She was really helpful, and even though she wasn't deaf, she was still an excellent sign language teacher.
i love pat!!
great teacher makes asl fun to learn
Amazing ability to connect well with all students. I did not realize what a great teacher she was until I took sign two. She goes over each sign in class so many times that it makes learning easy. Excellent teacher and an enjoyable class.
Pat is the best...I love her class. She makes it fun and interesing. But if you doin't want to know ASL then don't take the class because you will get lost.
Pat is the best ASL teacher. She made the class soooo much fun, I don't think anyone dropped the class by the end of the semester. She relates ASL to real life situations which makes the class interesting. She made the class and ASK so enjoyable, I'm now on my way to becoming an ASL interpreter!
BEST TEACHER EVER SHE MADE THINGS VERY FUN JUST DO YOUR WORK YOULL BE FINE. AND THE WORK IS NOT THAT HARD SO ITS EASY FROM THE BEGINNING. SHE IS REALLY NICE SO IF YOU HAVE QUESTIONS SHE WILL ANSWER THEM.
Great teacher really easy class
PAT IS AN AWESOME TEACHER!!! I HAVE NEVER TOOK A SIGN CLASS BEFORE IN MY LIFE, YET I NOW SIGN LIKE A PRO THANKS TO HER. SHE IS REALLY GOOD AT HELPING LEARN THE BASICS. I GOT AN A AND TO ME THE CLASS WAS VERY EASY. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND HER IF YOU WANT TO LEARN SIGN AS WELL AS GET A GOOD GRADE.
BEST TEACHER EVER. VERY EASY. ALL ASSINGMENTS ARE EASY GOING. BEST TEACHER. MOST UNDERSTANDING AS WELL.
She is a GREAT teacher she made sign so easy to learn. Very Helpful.
Great teacher! You will learn alot just don't miss any classes
Pat is a great teacher!...her class is never boring!...her teaching is aewsome! and what you learn sticks! you dont need to buy a book......b.c there is a book in the Library, and the homework only takes about 15 mins! and if you show up to class......you wont need to study!!! very very wonderful class!!!!!!
Pat is a wonderful teacher. I was engaged in her class. She is willing to help you learn, in a fun atmosphere and answeres your questions when asked. Work is class realted and easy to accomplish. Loved her class!
Pat was a great teacher who cares for her students. She is very kind and makes the class fun. Get ready to make some friends.
Pat is a wonderful teacher!! She gets very into it, and even tho she is hearing, she takes the students into what it is like to be a part of the deaf community. The class is very serious and is not an "easy A". There are 3 social events you must attend outside school and it wouldnt not help to have a friend in class either for the group work.
Sign 1, is easy to get A. However, you must practice what you have learned and do not miss class. Pat makes the class fun. Pat is a great teacher. She loves to teach and help students to learn the material. Good luck and have fun signing. My advice is to keep a list of words that you have learn and practice them few seconds before and after class
She is the best teacher for ASL One. You must go to class and do homework. You must practice outside of class. If you make a good effort and follow her class you will learn ASL. Pat rocks!
Masterson is a great proffessor who values honesty and commitment. She'll tell you how to get an A, listening and following her instruction will give you the best outcome. Attendance a plus and tutoring resources available.
Pro's:Kind, entertaining, willingness to help.Con's:three stand up presentations.Ms.Masterson is awesome. She teaches sign effectively, and also teaches about deaf culture which educates you even more on the language.Super friendly and overall postive personality.Yay for pat!I would only warn ppl that you cant talk during class, but this helps u learn
SHE IS THE GREATEST TEACHER YOU WILL FIND... she isn't just into teaching you ASL but helping you learn more about yourself and where you fit in.. go to class.. a few deaf events and sign a presentation.. (CLASS IS CAKE)
Super good teacher, keeps class engaged and makes learning interesting, not too difficult.
Pat was a great teacher, take her during the summer, we only had to attend one event and the final was just a 2-3 min. presentation on your "life story". The assignments were extremely easy. One of the only con's for the class was she gives a lot of busy work. I mean a lot! Overall, great teacher, eager to help students.
I only took Pat's summer course to knock out my language req, but found myself really enjoying the class. She's an amazing teacher. You will have fun, learn a lot, and be able to sign really quickly!! not a hard A, just do your work and enjoy!
Pat was an amazing teacher you should take her class if you can. Just show up & work & you can get an A. She gives hw but it's not @ all diffcult plus it gives you the chance to practice your signing. You have to attend a deaf event & write about it but it's not bad. You learn so much in really a short amount of time.
Pat is the best teacher! Anyone who considers taking sign must take sign language with pat!
Pat's sign 2 class is very fun! Lots of group and partner communication. She requires you to go to 3 diff events so if you have a busy schedule I wouldn't suggest taking her. Her tests and quizzes are easy except for the deaf culture written exam. She helps with clarification on words you might not understand. Attendance is a must to this class!!!
Pat is the best teacher i've ever had at city. I thought it would be hard to learn and memorize but pat teaches it to you in a way that you can remember FOREVER! i love learning sign!!! i took it just to transfer but now i want to become an interpreter!!! going to class is a must!! i missed 2 days and i was behind but eventually caught up
She is a great teacher that truely cares about her students. She can be mothering at times but the nice kind of mom and knows where to draw the line. I suggest everyone to take ASL and to take Pat.
i love her. she is the greates teacher
THIS IS THE BEST ASL TEACHER ON THE PLANET! She not only teaches you the language but also exposes you to the deaf culture. I have learned so much about the culture and myself. Assignments are very easy and she is helpful to students. WARNING: ASL will become very addictive after taking her (I sign EVERYWHERE haha). WONDERFUL teacher and person!
Got myself an A in her 4 week course! This class is awesome and extremely fun! After the end of this class you'll miss it, if not Pat but the friends that you make. She's awesome because she makes the material fun to learn. I usually hate group work & presenting in front of class but with her it was fun! If you're able take her!
Pat is a great teacher. She is helpful and her classes are fun. Attendance is essential to passing her class. Also, be warned: There is a bit of public speaking in her class, but it's very low pressure.
Love this class and I cant wait until sign 2!
Pat Masterson aka MASTERP is the best! She's a wonderful educator! Pat is very passionate about ASL and making sure her students grasp the language and culture. Attendance is a MUST if you want to do well on the quizes/exams. Too bad she's not teaching ASL II, otherwise i would have taken her.
Clear, approachable, friendly
Absolutely fantastic teacher. The class is intimidating at first, but hang in there. She'll make sure you get it before moving on! She is great. Don't be late or absent often. It annoys her. Talking during silent time in class is unacceptable. Which is great, essential for learning! GREAT TEACHER!!!
LOVE HER!!! I didn't know this class would be this fun and so easy to learn. She works on a well good pase but dont miss a day of class because every day is usually something new or reviews for quizes.. rarely have homework its just unit reviews EASY! semester is almost over and i have an A.. GO FOR IT YOU WONT REGRET IT
She is a great teacher. Took her last year and passed easily. Anyone who wants to learn sign should take her.
Pat is a great teacher.Do your H.W.is all she is asking. If u do that u will pass her class with flying colors. The quizes are very helpful. The homework is easy. She doesnt try to fool you on finals.go to library if u have no book.Extra credit for going to tutor.if u miss class go to another to make up in class points. The work is EASY and u LEARN!!
She is a very friendly, understanding teacher. I strongly recommend her, even if you miss a few classes and assignments you can still get an A in the class, which is amazing!
Thinking of trying ASL 1? Choose Pat! It's easy to get high grade in her class, her class is full of activities and fun, you will love ASL if you take her class, you may get lost at first, but it's all right, talk to her, she's a nice person(not when talking about homework...), but remember, attend her class, if not you may not catch up with her.
SHE IS A GREAT TEACHER IF YOU ARE THINKING ABOUT TAKING ASL PLEASE TAKE HER SHE MAKES THE CLASS VERY FUN, ALWAYS WILLING TO HELP YOU IF YOU ASK GREAT GREAT PERSON
She was rude to me on the 1st day of class. There was construction being done around her portable, so I was a few minutes late & she wouldn't let me explain. She also didn't let us know til two hours into the class that she won't be adding more than 10 from waitlist. I really needed to know that from the start bc I couldve added a diff class
She is a great teacher. You will learn a lot. I started her class a few years ago but didnt finish. When I can back to take the class again I thought it would be the same old stuff, but NOT she changes it up. So if you started her and want to finish up Sign 1 try her again. She if very pro students and stands up for the students with the college.
Pat is amazing, very clear and easy to follow. Makes class fun, you'll learn a lot.
most amazing teacher ever! she really love what she is doing and makes class really fun!i wish she would teach all 4 levels!i wouldnt recommend anyone but her. she genuinely cares about her students which is hard to find in most professors,You have to come to class to pass. i loved every minute of her class this semester!
Pat is a very effective teacher [my grade was based on falling behind on my own.] Her class may seem hard because she will refuse to tell you the answers causing students to be forced to reach out to other students and research on their own. If the whole class seems lost, then she will slow down accordingly.
Not bad but not great. She's a little too talkative about meat, milk, politics, war, ect.I think it's funny how much she scolds people for being late but was always late herself.
I LOVED her class this past semester. She is so clear with signs and it is very easy to catch on. All my classmates loved her class. Not only do we learn signs but we learn culture. Great class and I wish she taught other levels.
I LOVED Pat's class! I learned a lot of new signs and a little bit about deaf culture. She's a really good teacher very funny and understanding.
Fun class. tutoring can be helpful. The teacjher will answer any question when not busy. I wish she taught level two.
Pat is a great teacher! Loves what she does! This is not a class where you can be frequently tardy & especially absent. Work with others pretty much the entire class. Very fun. Even if you're a little shy, you get used to it. Everyone starts out not knowing what they're doing with the language, but w/ practice you improve tremendously. Easy A.
Pat is Awesome, i wish she taught sign 2, but she doesn't, she teaches a lot and she's good at what she does. She loves her Job! i loved learning in her class because it was a nice quiet enviornment.
Pat is a very good teacher she is very understanding I took her class during the summer session my class was 15 days, you have to be willing to learn and put in the effort.
Great professor. Made sign language fun to learn. Did not have a clue about ASL but not I can sign very well after taking her class. Truly an awesome professor to take.
Best Teacher ever!!! I always wanted to learn ASL!!! She makes it fun and exciting to learn. I totally wish she was teaching ASL 2. She is a must take!!!!!!!
Fantastic teacher. Has a real passion for sign & will do a great job educating you of Deaf Culture. DON'T TAKE THIS CLASS JUST TO FILL A REQUIREMENT. You've gotta WANT to be there. The only thing I dislike about her teaching method is she doesn't TELL you what the signs are right away. Sign is all about context though, words ? signs. Learned a LOT.
Loved her class! Really learned a lot about ASL and deaf culture & feel I walked away with a true appreciation for the deaf. Only negative I can say is she talked politics on a couple of occasions, unrelated to ASL which annoyed me. But I forgave her because she really is an awesome professor, loves her job!
Considering she is the only Sign1 prof here, she does an amazing job. To pass this class you have to WANT to learn ASL. Very friendly & clear with what she wants. It is best to get to know classmates - trust me, it helps IMMENSELY when everyone studies together. Wish she taught Sign2. You will learn about the Deaf culture which is a definite plus!!
From the first day of class, Pat seemed to be really interested in making sure her students learned more about Deaf culture. With her as my teacher, I learned to appreciate ASL so much more than I ever thought possible. !Students new to sign! If you want a teacher that's dedicated to helpin you succeed, then I highly recommend you take Pat's class.
I took Pat for Sign 1 and I loved her. She was fair and just she understood that we are beginners amd she didnt hold it against us she helped me tremedously. The hardest thing for me was the fingerspelling which isnt her fault its mine. Homework level was not bad at all barely any and it actually helped. Rentborrow the book no use in keeping it.
LOVED her so much. As long as you show up everyday and do the homework you will get an A. She even inspired me to make sign my minor when i transfer to CSUS
Pat is one of my favorite professors ever on this campus. She made me love Sign Language. Don't be intimidated by her on the first day because she'll come in signing, but once you start learning it's great. She's really helpful and makes getting the signs down easy. I really suggest taking her! Homework and tests are really easy too.
She is so nice! I went into this class semi interested in sign and now I want to take sign 2 and 3! This is a great class the tests aren't too hard but coming to class is essential because she will teach you new vocal every day and its really hard to catch up!
Pat is the best professor! She is patient and willing to work with you to learn the material. She assigns homework for every unit in the book Signing Naturally, the DVDs are essential to do the homework. She teaches us of the Deaf culture & community & she also has us attend a Deaf event to give us a feel of the community. I wish she taught sign 2
I took this class randomly & found an interest in ASL! She is an amazing teacher & is always willing to help. She cares about all of her students & will remember your name & who you are! She is an easy grader, what she really wants is for you to TRY! Make sure you make a friend & practice signing with them outside of class, really helped me get a A
Pat is a wonderful professor. She is one of those professor who seem scary at first but gets friendly after. Avoid talking in class because if you do talk in class, you will get kicked out. Her grading system is fair and the assignments are based from the textbook, Signing Naturally 1-6. Make sure to practice your signs and attend tutoring.
Professor Masterson is the best. i took her for my Sign Language 1 class, and she has given the opportunity of showing me how to sign and the right way. I am happy that she was my professor and I hope to take her again.
Professor Masterson's teaching style can be a bit frustrating at first because she's very gung ho about what she teaches. It's a little overwhelming. It's not hard to earn an A if you do the (minimal) homework and show up to class. Do practice your signs, it makes everything easier.
This class is absolutely built to pass. Show up, do your homework, and ask for help when you need it and you'll do perfect! She sets up recurring tutors early on in the semester and if possible, i strongly encourage you to go. She covers a lot of stuff, especially early in the semester, so make sure you sit somewhere you can see her!
Such an amazing teacher! Very clear on what she wants from you. Great teaching style. Don't miss class or you will fall behind.
Amazing professor, her method of teaching was really effective and even pretty fun. She covers a lot of material in one session so if you skip class you'll fall behind easily. The quizzes and exams are not hard at all and she offers some extra credit throughout the semester. I definitely recommend her.
Professor Masterson makes learning ASL fun and easy. She really cares about all of her students and wants to see them succeed. I would definitely recommend her to anyone who is interesting in learning sign language or needs the credit. I would definitely take ASL from her again.
LOVED taking this class! I was very skeptical about doing something outside of my comfort zone and Professor Masterson made it fun and easy to enjoy. I would highly recommend her and i would take her class again.
Pat Masterson was a great teacher! She really new how to teach ASL and was able to get all the students engaged and participating. It is very important that you can show up to all the class sessions because many of your points are earned doing in the class assignments. There are 2 exams; a midterm and final and also 2 short presentations you give.
She's tough but caring. Don't be afraid to ask for help
I so wish I could take Professor Pat Masterson for ASL2. She did so well teaching ASL1 and had such a passion for it! Missing her a lot!
Absolutely loved this teacher and her class. She teaches you well and the class is fun. Interacts with every student. You will have homework, a project, midterm and final. If you go to class pay attention you will pass. She opened up my eyes to a lot. Will be taking sign 2 because I enjoyed it.
She was my first Professor at this school. She was so helpful and really cared about her class. I learned so much. We played a decent amount of sign language games. She was all about improvement and wanted us to succeed. 10/10 would recommend.
I took her Sign 1 class and she was amazing! There will be homework every week, quizzes, and 2-3 big tests. She is funny and super easy to relate to. Any help you need she is there for you.
Prof. M is very caring and funny! She teaches you a lot about Deaf culture. Lots of homework but it's easy. Show up to class or else you'll miss a lot. Gives lots of EC, have to go to a Deaf event and write a paper on it, test/quizzes are easy just know your signs, final project you have to sign a story (vid or live). I wish she taught DEAF312!
Professor Masterson is a great teacher, I took her class over the summer, and she made the 4 hour class fly by, there is quite a bit of homework from the book, and you need to keep up on it to get an A. Very understanding on tests, will repeat the signs a reasonable amount of times. Masterson loves to tell entertaining stories and makes class fun.
Professor Maaterson is an incredible professor! She genuinely makes sure you understand the class. Her stories are funny and you can tell she really enjoys the Deaf culture.
Best professor! She works with you and understands you and is also patient. This class was super fun and I learned a lot!
Love her honestly, an amazing teacher.
She's an amazing teacher, she is funny and also takes the time to make sure everyone understands the curriculum. I would absolutely take her again.
Prof. Masterson literally gives you everything you need to succeed in DEAF 310. She is very understanding and inclusive when teaching. Learning a new language can be tough for many, but she makes it fun and understandable. I wish she was teaching DEAF 312 and 314 because I would definitely take her again if I could.
I really loved Pat. Day 1 I thought I was going to fail and I ended up with a very high A. TRUST HER PROCESS, I promise. She has been doing this 40+yrs. You have to come to class each time, it's hard to catch up if you miss too much. I recommend going to tutoring offered by the school & finding your own tutor if you can, it will really help a lot.
Hands down, Pat is an amazing teacher. Pay attention to what she says and trust her. She wants all students to succeed, so do not miss class. If you want/need to take ASL then take this class.
She is an awesome professor! I took her in the fall but had family issues she understood and let me retake in the summer!
I took her 4 week summer class and I learned so much! She's hearing but spends half/most of the class only signing, which is really helpful. It was a lot of homework (taking notes and doing workbook exercises) but it may of seemed like a lot because it was a condensed class. She's helpful and approachable. Definitely take her!
Professor Masterson is a great instructor. Has many resources on campus and away from campus to use to be successful in her class. Do your homework/classwork, participate, practice your signing and you'll do fine. I did not apply myself fully because of life stuff and got a poor grade. I am taking her class again and my goal is to earn an A.
Awesome!!!! Super sweet professor
Professor Masterson, Learning style is visual. so, you must pay attention at all times. She is very clear about: what she expects from you, when it comes to assignments. But, if you misunderstood the assignment, she will allow you to contact her. My overall student review: she's an awesome professor.
This is by far the most passionate professor I have taken. I learned so much about Deaf culture and every lecture was extremely informative and fun! Class always went by fast, and she is very clear about what she expects. Show up to class, do the online homework, and you will be totally fine. Professor Masterson is awesome! Take her!!
She's cool and all, but she grades overly the top. If you miss one assignment, your grade goes down immediately. She's nice but doesn't teach in a way where everyone can understand. Some people aren't visual learners , but still want to learn SIGN yet can't understand well. She's very friendly though. Depends on your liking, young one (or old).
I am glad I was able to learn this language with Professor Pat. Attendance matters, if you miss more than one class period at a time you will feel behind because the whole class has already learned new signs. Group work is huge in this class, be ready to communicate in ASL all class period! Learned so much and would highly recommend!
Great class! Participation matters! You use ASL throughout the whole class. You need to be focused and attentive to not miss any information/new signs. I am glad I took this class, I learned so much. Highly recommend
She makes such a new and daunting subject super easy! I was so intimidated by l;earning sign but it really just naturally comes to you when shes teaching it. Really sweet and will do a lot to make sure you're OK.
Pat is amazing. i went into sign not knowing a whole lot and by the end of the semester i was able to have full conversation in ASL. lots of extra credit opportunities. Do your homework, show up to class and study your vocabulary and you'll pass with flying colors. super easy to understand and catch on. If she was teaching Sign 2 i would her class.
Prof. Masterson is amazing at teaching ASL. You learn a lot in her class. There are quizzes weekly so its important to pay attention in class and practice. She gives out a good amount of extra credit if needed. This was my first time learning ASL & I learned so much from her & genuinely enjoyed it. Take her class if you have the opportunity!
The most amazing professor I ever had!I was so sad when the class ended. Please take her. You learn a lot about Deaf culture and you learn so much! The whole class becomes a community throughout the semester and it gets really fun. Pay attention, show up, and study. Do the homework. I wish she taught Sign 2!
She was absolutely phenomenal in class for half of the semester, and amazing transitioning online due to the pandemic these past few months. I just regret not having had the chance to take her class in person in full, as she was an outstanding professor and cared alot about her students and their learning of ASL. 10/10 would recommend for Deaf310!
The BEST professor at Sac City, hands down! Inspired me to minor in ASL and Deaf Studies. Really cares about her students and our success in the class. Wish she taught ASL 2.
Masterson seems to be a great teacher, what I can say is that she cares about her students and she wants them to pass. I am currently taking her online Deaf 310 Class it the curriculum is easy if you PRACTICE! The only thing I disliked about the class is that she assigns HW almost everyday and there is no sequence with due dates. Pretty unorganized
Overall a good professor throughout the quarantine. You will have trouble navigating through modules because she doesn't organize that well and you have to look through each module to see due dates. She also sends messages in your Canvas inbox SO much. 90% of those messages are sent past 10PM and are usually unnecessary, she spams my notifications.
Fun times when I had her for asl. Easy to talk to and no ego. Just show up to class, practice your signs, and you'll pass.
Prof Masterson is a gem. She is very helpful and wants her students to succeed. Learning a different language requires work. You have to study. She gives great feedback and is such a kind human being. Highly recommend! Just wish she was teaching deaf 312. TAKE HER!!!
Prof. Masterson was the sweetest. Gives great feedback and plenty of extra credit opportunities. Has quizzes for both your ability to sign and your ability to understand sign. Great class, would recommend.
Professor Masterson was by far the best teacher I have ever had!! She was kind, caring and phenomenal at teaching the ASL language. I feel grateful to have had her as my teacher, and my only wish is that she taught DEAF312 so that I could continue to learn from her! If you need a language and are thinking about ASL, she is a MUST!
Loved this professor! She's easy on grading but participation is important for you to understand and grasp the concept being taught. She's very easy-going as well and has great communication skills. If you ever have any questions, email her!! Professor Masterson wants you to pass her class! Definitely learned a lot through her teaching ethic.
Very easy is you watch the videos and do the homework. Good teacher and grades the homework very quickly. Offers good feedback and will even allow you to sometimes change your assignment for a better grade. Extra credit is offered.
Hands down the best professor I have ever met!!! She is genuinely caring and sweet, and her teaching style is terrific. She is not a harsh grader and gives you proper constructive criticism of your singing. I will 100% take a class with her again!
Hands down one of the best professors I have ever met!!! She is lovely and caring, and her teaching style is fantastic. She is not a harsh grader, gives you proper constructive criticism of your signs, and offers extra credit opportunities! I will 100% take another class with her again!!
This was a great asynch class! There are quite a lot of assignments (usually 1-3 on Wednesdays and another 1-3 on Saturdays). You do have to study the modules a lot to learn new signs. Usually, assignments were reviews and quizzes of signs or taking notes on deaf culture. Would prob be a much different experience if in person or online synch.
Professor Masterson is an amazing and caring person. You can tell she really cares for the class and does her best to teach ASL through her videos and lectures. Do be prepared to study and be bale to record yourself. I had ZERO experience but I ended up learning so much. I highly recommend this course if you need it for credit.
She is so nice, in her lecture videos she wont talk, she just points to a vocab list and signs it, but it is extremely clear and its easy to go back and rewatch her sign videos.
Professor Masterson is an excellent teacher. She is very thorough and clear in all her instructions. She cares very much for the success of all her students. She responds very quickly to emails and gives helpful feedback. I would definitely take her class again. I highly recommend her.
Absolutely loved this class! Professor provides consistent video and written assignments with added extra credit opportunities and offers great detailed feedback. Class also requires meetings with tutors/group tutoring session with students for credit. Her way of teaching allowed me to gain so much valuable knowledge and skills that I will cherish!
I took her online asynchronous class back in 2020 and it was amazing! Modules are hard to navigate. Every week she tells you what's due. 2-6 assignments due per week, all of them were super simple. She grades and gets back to emails fast. For the one paper that was due, she was super sweet about me going over the number of pages. Best teacher ever!
this professor is good but it is a lot of work. be prepared to film yourself every week and to know a lot of ASL. thought this class would be fun but it was ehh. pretty hard and i lost motivation to learn lol
She is awesome! Get ready for a great beginner ASL class :)
The professor's clear ASL instruction videos and helpful feedback made this asynchronous course engaging. Completing weekly assignments and practice with unstuck study helped me gain valuable ASL skills, despite the workload.
The most understanding and caring professor I've had! Wanted to try asl as something new but had dealt with recent passing of family and couldn't be motivated. She understood and walked me through the whole course and got me help for mental health. She was kind and understanding and accepted late work a week after due with an unnoticeable deduction
She is very nice and gives great feedback. She also lets you know when you do well which was one of my favorite things. She was also very easy to email and communicate with. Would recommend! 😊
I learned so much so quickly in this class. Follow her advice on how to retain all the signs and you will do fine! Only drawback is that I found it difficult to read/take notes from the signing naturally handbook from my computer screen as she has it very poorly scanned. I wish she would update it, maybe even with the online version!
Great professor, she wants you to learn asl and will help you every step of the way!
