Excellent prof, take her if you can.
Extremely nice. Excellent Professor. Very helpful and creative.
Took her for Honors Biology and she was so much fun! Very nice, easy to approach, and makes Biology interesting.

Dr. Mire is a teacher that will do anything she can to see you do well. You will have to study for the class, but she makes it interesting. Plus she gives extra points!
She is definetely one of the best professors I've had, she is very talented at lecturing and getting her points across.
Dr. Mire is a great teacher, which is hard to come by in the Biology department.
She's a good teacher in lectures and keeps it interresting, but as for her tests...WHOA! they're pretty hard, and she does give extra points...but I have friends with other BIOL profs and they give alot more points than her. She's very nice though!
Probably one of the best teachers I have ever had. Seriously considered switching my major to Biology.
EXTREMELY hard tests! that are impossible to pass. Gave bonus points, but not enough. My friend's bio teachers gave a lot more. she is very unclear in her lectures. Did I mention that her tests were extremely hard?
She is the hardest teacher I have ever had. Her test are inpossible!! THis is the only class I have had to drop so far.
Excellent professor. She's funny so she keeps your interest, and I'm drowning in bonus points. If you read the chapters and study to know the material, not just to get the grade you'll be fine. I need a 33 on the final for an A.
Dr. Mire is an awesome! Her lectures are interesting and she gives examples of things that make you understand the actual concepts of what she is trying to teach..people say her tests are hard, i don't understand that...study the information, the test is mulitple choice, how hard could it be?
This is the hardest teacher I have had. The semester I was in her class my grades were all A's and a D in her class. The test are very hard and impossible...why does she even give that outline to study with...it doesn't help at all!
HARDDDDDD!!!! I had to drop this class along with most of the people in it. I am taking it this summer, and I see a lot of the same people that were in her class last semester with me! I can't explain it to you how hard the test are!! I have a B in the class this summer with Ms. Sherry Krayesky. Take her!
If you are a biology major and cannot do well in a class with such a wonderful teacher then you might want to change your major or else youll be in for a rough 3 years

Excellent teacher! i love her to death. she is willing to help in any way she can. her lectures are clear and interesting. if you can take honors biology with her,,do it!! the enrichment class is awesome!
The class average on the exams were always around a low D. We started out with 300 students and by finals only 50 were left. This class is where they weed out the biology majors.
Excellent Professor, willing to assist you in any way you can, even arriving to class 20 minutes early for first hour students to do a review. Will respond to all questions and any emails sent.
she is an amazing teacher. presents information well. lots of extra points possible. tests are difficult but she prepares you well. reviews everyday before class
She is the****
I love the way she puts out notes and she does a review before class everyday. Tests are a little difficult but she gives out so many extra points that it more then makes up for it.
I was once a CMPS major who had to take Bio 101, and I remember I made an A the first half of the semester (when she taught it). When another prof came to teach the second half, I made a C. The fact that I was halfway to an A in biology is amazing, because I'm an idiot at anything having to do with life sciences.
Made me enjoy biology for the first time. She goes above and beyond the call of duty with her Early Bird Reviews, and gives out extra points like candy. Is very willing to help you out any way she can. Not counting the final quiz, I have to make a twenty-two on the final for an A. Her tests are easy if you study. I love Dr. Mire!
This teacher is so nice! She gives A LOT of extra points if you come to class. Her tests are multiple choice and reflect lectures only. I didn't even need my books. Overall, the class is an easy A if you STUDY your notes.
Good notes online; power point presentation lectures; easy to talk to; I got an A just studying the notes
She is awesome! Gives a lot of bonus! I got a range of C's and D's on all of my test because I didn't study much, but with all of the bonus she gives I got an A both times! Make sure you go to class for the bonus and you will be fine! TAKE THIS TEACHER!
Easy class. Uses slide shows which make note taking easier. I would recommend her for any class.

Dr. Mire is basically the one of the best teachers on campus. She is willing to help you with any problems, and she presents the material in a way thats not only easy to understand, but also very interesting. I had to make a 10 on the final to have an A in the class, and I wish that she taught more classes because I would definitely take them!
Dr. Mire goes out of her way to help students do well in her class, but it's up to them to read the material. The online study guides are guaranteed to help on her exams. The in-class quizzes definitely help prepare you for the exams, too. Attendance is very important for the enrichment and lab sections of Biol 143.
This had to be my favorite teacher yet. She will help anybody that asks and gives so many bonus points. I probably got at least 50 bonus points for easy stuff. Definitely take her class if you can, it was the best!
Best teacher ever. Gives many chances for extra points. Just study the notes and use the study guide.
Dr. Mire is cool. She gives study guides for each exam. The final is not comprehensive. She gives chances for remediation as well. Loved Dr. Mire!
TAKE THIS CLASS! She's the best.
Extremely helpful and does every thing possible to help you get an A. Material is presented very well and she is available almost everyday if you need help. Take Dr. Mire!
wonderful teacher! very easy and extremely helpful. her tests her multiple choice and she gives a lot of bonus. she will do anything to see her students pass. take her if you get the chance she is great
She is a great teacher. You learn alot even though some things are boring. She will help you understand if you ask her for help.
this class was not very easy but if u study and go to tutoring to get a little extra help u will do fine.
Professor Mire is a horrible teacher!!! Her tests are extremely hard to pass unless you study 2 hours every day! Also, most of the time, her notes contradict the book and you don't know what to expect on the test. The tests are very specific and difficult to pass (for me passing is a B+ since I want to go to Med School). Don't take her!!!
This class takes the previous material covered in the first bio classes and goes into much more detail. Many of the lab experiments did not work properly, however this was the first semester for this class. The tests mostly come from notes in class. They are multiple choice, but you should study as if you were taking an essay test.
Dr. Mire is awesome. I've had her for 102 and 212. You must go to class, it is essential for making an "A". Her test are very difficult. You must know the ins and outs of everything, and study as if you very taking an essay test. She doesn't give extra points as other people have said. Overall she rocks.
she DOES give extra credit. the best biology teacher you could get. GO TO class or you won't do well. first couple tests are more difficult than the rest.
be prepared to study. she gives study guides and powerpoints that you must fill out. study guide dint help me much. test are HARD. class average after first test was a 47. just sayin'. class is pretty boring. the only way to pass is study your butt off.
I took her last semster, and failed miserably. Her test are very long and wordy. Her test are confusing, she gives a study guide but it really isn't helpful at all. I took Krayesky this summer and it was much easier.
OMG! where do i start?!worst teacher in bio department! i had to drop this class and change my major so i wouldnt have to take her.too many slides and we have a couple mins to write everything down, on top of that.. she is explaining every thing! does she not realize some ppl cant write a crap load of info down and listen to her at the same time?
Tests are hard. She wants you to apply your previous biology knowledge to what she is teaching. Doesn't give much time for taking notes so bring your computer. She also talks while you are writing so you can't really pay attention. Flys through slides. I'm failing this class because I am not learning a damn thing. good luck!
Attendance is not mandatory as long as you get the study guides filled out. The class is pretty easy if i would hav applied myself earlier i coul have had an A. Definitely go to study group just to get the quizzes they are the majority of her tests!! overall good class
GO TO STUDY SESSIONS!!! If you attend you will pass the class. The quizzes have the same questions as the test. I rarely used the book. Study quizzes from study sessions, questions of the day, & her handouts.
She is very helpful and tries to hint at things that will definately be on the test but the tests are very hard! You have to study all of the notes and read the book to do well. She does go very slow which is great so that students can keep up but can result in 2 chapters on one test and then 7 on the next.
The class was difficult, but Ms. Mire did a good job of explaining all of the material she covered in class. If you fill out the chapter outlines and study guides she gives, it makes this class a lot easier. Study daily and you'll do well.
Despite what some people say, this class is difficult. If you want to do well, you must study her notes as well as the figures. Review the material on the CD with the book also helps. Explains info well and always willing to help. She truly pushes you to learn. As bad as it sounds, study for her tests like an essay test, and you will do fine.
Very tricky. Study guide questions are not on the test but they do help you understand the material better. If you don't go to class and study alot you won't pass with a good grade
Biol 110 is hard no matter who you have. Pay attention and do the study guides! She gives extra points. I passed with a B.
Good teacher who is knowledgeable and will help you. Study the outlines that she provides as the tests are straight from them. Her tests are hard though. She will help you if you go to her office. DO NOT MISS A TEST. Make ups are a killer, and all essay. Quiz questions are on the tests as well as "Questions of the Day."
This teacher is awesome! This was my second time taking the class. The first time I took it with a different teacher, and understood nothing. When I took it with her, I understood EVERYTHING! She was really helpful and always willing to make time for her students. Definitely good to go to class, and pay attention!
NOT a good teacher. Avoid taking her if possible. One of the worst biology profs. Poor lady.
She is an amazing teacher! Anybody who complains about her class should probably change their major. She is VERY precise on her tests and notes. I study the night before the tests and make high Bs. She gives three extra points if you go in for remediation a morning after the test. There's no reason NOT to pass.
This class is hard, but she works with you to make sure you understand. She is almost always available to answer questions and encourages participation in class. Like I said, the information is hard, so going to class is a must. She takes attendance, but that only helps you, she won't let it hurt you. I definitely recommend taking her.
This was a great class. She was very helpful and kept the material interesting. She would bring in examples of whatever we were learning at the time. Her tests are not difficult if you study ahead of time.
Have an A in course. Just waiting to take the final. She gives bonus point opportunities, outlines of each chapter, study guides for tests and final. She is an AMAZING teacher because she exposes you to the material in every possible way for different learning styles. You MUST study in advance, not just a week before the test. HELPFUL Prof!
Gives outline and study guides for all chapters. Outlines are pointless to study. Just took final and it was 50 comprehensive and 50 new stuff she covered the new stuff the 2 classes before the final since she took forever talking about unessecary stuff. Avoid taking her, it will only benefit you!!
Going to class was completely useless. She gives you a study guide that is garbage; barely anything she puts on it is on the test. Her tests are ridiculous. She has extra point opportunities that you will definitely need because of her tests. I strongly advise you to avoid this professor at all costs.
Cell&Molec. MUST buy text! Great teacher, but study ahead of time! Gives 3-5 points back per test if you go see what you got wrong! Record/type the lectures! Even if you don't finish with an A, you will learn SO MUCH INFORMATION!! Great prep for MCAT and other medical school acceptance tests!!
Excellent professor. You can't slack at all. Try not to get behind. She treats you like you have a brain so use it. bonus points and attendance points were the difference between an A and a B in the course. Go to her office to ask questions and show her that you have a completed study guide. She values effort/participation. you WILL learn.
You know, you really get what you pay for (terrible professors). She is a nice lady but this class was just pure rancid. I suggest changing your major at this point if you are in pre-med. And do yourself a favor and AVOID BRENT THOMA for the LAB. Cheers!
Dr. Mire is amazing! She is one of the best biology teachers at UL in my opinion. Her class is not that difficult, but it is challenging. She explains everything extremely well and works with students if they need extra help. I studied every day, many many hours, but enjoyed every second of it while earning an A. Take Dr. Mire, you won't regret it!
She is an awesome teacher. She is lively in class gives great life examples that connect with the material taught. If need help, she will help during office hours. You learn a lot in this class.
She is the worst teacher I have ever had. She thrives on the failure of her students. If you don't understand it, she doesn't help you. She just tries to make you feel stupid. HORRIBLEEEEEEE.
She is awesome! The material can get pretty boring, but she does her best to give examples so you can understand. Her tests come straight from her lectures so I recommend recording them and listening to at least one every weekday.
The class is rough but most of the test comes from the study guide questions. The fill in the blank stuff is just to help the study guide. Connect also helps as she does bonus quizzes.
Good teacher! Test are difficult if you do not study, but test don't affect your grade much. If you attend class everyday/ have perfect participation, draw all of your figures, and score well on mastering homework, you will be fine. I made a B,C, and F on the test and passed with a B easily.
Dr. Mire-Watson's class is very challenging! She is however very thorough in her teaching and DOES help outside of class if you go ask. Reading the book is a great idea. Tests were mult. choice but still difficult. I learned a lot in this class, but be ready to work.
Dr. Mire uses Power Points and figures to make everything very visual which I found was very helpful. She explains the material very well. Her tests are straight forward. She did extra credit, so make sure you go to class! We got bonus points for dressing up as a molecule for Halloween! TAKE HER! She's very friendly and approachable.
Really rough course, but I understand why it needs to be. Definitely weeds out those who want to major in biology or allied health but don't really want to do the work. Would highly recommend though. It's a lot of course work but the material covered demands it.
Dr. Mire was an awesome professor. If you go to office hours she keeps track of it and is willing to help you with any questions you may have. She uses alot of figures and her tests are directly from the study guide. I only used the book for looking over the figures again before the tests. Many questions came from them. Her class was great!
She makes you print out the power points. This class isn't easy, but it isn't difficult.
I had her for Bio 110 and I'm a Nursing major. She had powerpoints & study guides for each chaptertest and the test questions came EXACTLY from the study guide questions. I bought the book but barely used it. We had Connect assignments due for every chapter, which helped because she took the extra points and added them at the end of the class.
Make sure you study all the figures she lectures on and review the notes more than once before the test! I didn't take her class to seriously (even though I should have) and passed with a C. No power points to print so writing good notes is a must.
Any biology will be hard, but she is a good choice if you have to take the class. Lot of information, but it's all well explained. Just study a lot and you can get an A
Dr. Mire is the best professor to take for Bio 110. She is a great teacher and gives bonus points. You will definitely need to study for her tests, but she is willing to help you if you go to her office hours.
Dr. Mire is amazing, and I would highly recommend her for any Biology course. She gives lots of opportunities for bonus points, and is super helpful in her office hours! She makes you work for it, but it isn't unbearable
Mrs. Mire is a very good professor! She is able to explain the topics very well. My only problem was there was so much information on one test and she would get super detailed with questions. She does give extra points and homework on mcgraw hill. Word to the wise the answers to the connect assignments are on quizlet. I would definetly recommend.
VERY GENEROUS WITH BONUS POINTS. You could turn in an index card with your name on it and she can randomly chose your name to answer a question. If you got the question right, you got 2 pts. If you got it wrong you got 1pt for trying. Her lecture was very specific but her tests were on very broad material. Make sure to look at every figure.
She's a clear cut, gives good examples! Her class is okay, but I wouldn't recommend taking it with other hard classes, 230 you are givent oo much & sometimes she rush through it bec. she doesn't move test days! Her test are okay make sure you study every figure. In my opinion she is not that easy to approach. Study daily and you can pass!
Barely passed with a C. Failed almost all the tests. Attempt to answer questions she'll give bonus points for it. Study graphs, she loves to ask about graphs.
Dr. Mire is a good teacher she knows her stuff. She teaches at a fast pace so sometimes the material can be difficult to understand. Make sure you know the pictures from the text because they are detailed on the tests. This class isn't a walk in the park its hard and you have to dedicate time to understand the material given its nature. STUDY!!!
Dr. Mire's cell and molec class was a tough one, but if you read the textbook it helps a lot, at least it did for me. I would recommend recording her lectures because her notes do not include all the material. She does give extra credit, so take advantage of it.
Really sweet professor however the course itself was quite a challenge. Connect homework was given every chapter for bonus points along with a few in-class pop quizzes. Tests were quite difficult. She ALWAYS tests on the Figures she has in her Power point slides. Get ready to read and study you bum off.
Very good teacher who explains the notes really well. She gives study guides that really help although the tests can be challenging even when you study exceptionally.
Attendance is mandatory. She says you cant miss more than 5 classes and she means it. She will drop your grade if you miss 6 or more classes. Her tests are somewhat hard. If you study you can make an A, but she loves to ask tricker questions.
Terrible for Freshmans. Almost all students barely pass the first test! Sets everyone up for failure. Forget it if you thought you could get an A for the semester, unless Biology is really your thing. And this is a core class. UL needs to reconsider her methods for first years!!!
She is a great woman and good teacher, her tests are just EXTREMELY hard to pass. Most freshman that are taking the class now are not passing. She gives extra points here and there so participate in class.
Dr. Mire-Watson was clear from Day one of what she expected. She gave you all the materials that you needed to succeed in the class and was always willing to help you during office hours. If you are ready to put in the work, you are sure to do well. Also, make sure you study the figure numbers.
Most people complain about how hard Dr. Mire's class is. This is my first semester, and I passed the class with an A. Yes, the class required me to put some effort into it, but so does everything in life. Most people find her tests hard because they aren't questions that require memorization. You need to know how to apply the information.
Dr. Mire is awesome! She's pretty hard but if you put in the effort and work hard you will pass. Show that you care and she will care about your grade as well. Everyone that I knew was passing the class. But, they were putting in the work. STUDY!!! Use the outlines and do all homework!
Dr. Mire is awesome! Her tests are a bit tough Becuase it's not just general memorization. She wants you to succeed. But, like she said in class she wants you to succeed with knowledge from this class.
Dr. Mire is great! She is extremely knowledgable and passionate about her field. She is super quirky and genuinely funny. It's Biology so it will be difficult, but she gives SOOO many extra point opportunities! She's always in her office if you need help. tests aren't hard if you studied, but definitely make you think! FIGURES, FIGURES, FIGURES!
She's a great teacher! I would go to her office hours and she would explain everything I needed to do. You have to work and study but overall great class.
She was a great teacher from what i could tell. I personally didn't like how monotoned she could be at times and so the class bored me to death. I would recommend studying very consistently if you expect to pass.
Dr. Mire uses a lot of analogies to help you remember certain things. Her tests are mainly picture based.
She lets you to go office hours to review your test grade
I thought she was a great teacher. You get out what you put in. I attended SI regularly and ALWAYS volunteered for bonus points.
This class was fine, I made As on every test but have friends who failed them so it just depends on your testing style. Write down and study figures for every test!! She gives a lot of bonus points so take advantage. Not a hard class, I just didn't like her teaching style. It's just a more in depth Biol 110.
The sooner you learn how to study in a way that works for you, the better the class will be. Don't fall behind/Pay attention to figures because she puts them on test and asks a lot of questions pertaining to them/if you start struggling, ATTEND SI TUTORING because it helps. 4 total tests-last ones half cumulative. Focus on the study guide questions
tests are pretty hard you really gotta understand the material to pass. also don't take the 8 am class, she can be boring at times and being an athlete and having early morning workouts i found myself falling asleep a lot which is why I got a C in the class. make sure you know the figures from the book and use the Connect online book to review
Dr. Mire is an awesome professor! The class is tough, but it's worth working hard for. As long as you stay ahead and on top of things, you will be fine. SI sessions DO HELP. Don't be afraid to answer questions and participate in class. FIGURES, FIGURES, FIGURES. :D
This was my hardest class of freshman year and Im pretty good at biology. Just read the book and study WAAAAY before the test (I studied 2 weeks before each test and got Bs on them)
I genuinely did not like her as a professor. My SI for the class wasn't that great either. Take Krayesky if you can. She posts her PowerPoints online. Also posts video lectures sometimes.
Dr. Mire is the best biology professor I've had in college. She makes you think critically about the subject and connect the dots to understand WHY things happen. I absolutely loved her lectures. I do wish there was more options for grades so it wasn't all based on a few tests. She always answered questions in class and wanted students to engage.
She doesnt care if you pass or fail
