This woman teaches online classes at Columbus State. She was AWOL all quarter. She never posted quizzes until the last week of classes. Email questions were never answered. I have never had such a useless instructor. She is extremely bad!!

Extremely minimal communication. I do mean minimal. Don't expect a quick reply to emails, if one at all. Quizes/tests: doesn't prepare you for what's on them. Doesn't seem to care about the quality of education, just pushing numbers through online classes to make the college more money. Class should be offered in classroom, not strictly web.

Doesn't respond to emails in a timely manner. Doesn't give all required items to complete labs, when she responds to an email she responds too late, it has to do with a previously due lab assignment she tells us to look for it online which is not what I would expect from an online course that tells us all of the required items will be given to us.

Ms. Opong responded to one email I sent her at the very beginning of the quarter. Every other attempt at contacting her went without response. She didn't bother posting any grades until it was too late to drop her class. Horrible teacher!

Never had her as a teacher, and will avoid taking classes from her. She's a CIT advisor who doesn't return phone calls or emails. I was asking for advice and NEVER heard from her. I did catch her in her office, once, but she was "too busy" to help.

Although she responded to a few e-mails, they were far from prompt, and didn't keep her word. She made for a very unpleasant experience!

Everyone is right. This teacher just doesn?t care. I sent her emails throughout the whole quarter and she never responded. Even if you call her and leave her messages, she doesn?t return your calls. Honestly she is the main reason I do not recommend my friends or my family attend Columbus State. Many of the teachers just don?t care. :(

Classes with this teacher are absolutely worthless. You can't review the tests so you can't figure out what you missed. Huge lag in email responses. I just don't understand why CSCC doesn't remove these types of teachers. There are plenty of knowlegdable people who can teach this class. She truely puts a black mark on the entire CIT program.

I had all A's at CSCC till I took her class online and got a B. Honestly, I don't think she even exists! She never replied back to her emails, and she is never at her office during posted hours. For all I know she is nothing more than a hologram robot. Avoid this useless CIT teacher!

This professor is the worst communicator I've ever met!!! She's NEVER in her office during her posted office hours and she rarely responds to emails. She has made this class much more difficult than it should be. AVOID THIS PROFESSOR IF POSSIBLE!!

Terrible Instructor! Avoid if possible! She relies completely on the text and there are no PowerPoint's or reviews. It is strictly read these chapters then do your lab, homework, quiz, etc. You absolutely teach yourself the material so avoid her! As others have previously stated, she is never in her office during office hours! Poor communication!

She is a very tough teacher and I would not recommend this class to anyone who is a self motivator. You won't get any feedback from the instructor and you will be lucky to know what your grades are when going into the final. Unless you are required to take this class for your major, I would save your money and just do a self study at home.

Arguably the very worst professor I have had the misfortune to work with. Usually the only professor that teaches the subject. Refuses to help. Syllabus is vague, confusing and wrong.2 outdated text books, 2 labs, 1 surprise book not mentioned at all. Does not grade work timely and no feedback. Avoid at all costs.

Terrible! I didn't realize that I needed to buy an additional access code, so I setup my own virtual environment to complete the labs, she gave me 0% on the labs saying that I need an access code. The fact that I can setup the server and complete the assignment shows that I deserve credit for it. She also rescheduled a test the day of the test. NO!

I met her briefly in person once, she surprisingly seemed knowledgeable. Too bad she teaches online courses where she does not even bother to post on blackboard, let alone respond to emails or provide any semblance of aid in education her students whatsoever. You will purchase 3 texts (2 you don't need) and that's all the teaching you get.

Homework and Labs give no help on how to be completed. Makes you write 3-4 paragraphs for answers that don't require more than 2 sentences. It's basically busy work to accomplish nothing because you are suppose to learn how to do everything by yourself. I have credited this class for making me change my major from CIT at Columbus State. AVOID!!

Professor Opong is not someone who should be teaching online courses. Her handouts are vague, and she makes no attempt to communicate with her students. She expects you to know how she wants assignments completed without ever saying so in the syllabus or on the assignment handout. Be prepared to learn on your own with little to no help.

Wow. This teacher is really awful. She teaches a computer class but wont accept that technology glitches sometimes. Even with proper proof she wouldn't except my assignment that had technical difficulties. She relies too much on the three textbooks and won't provide any help at all. Prepare to get a bad grade.

Patricia Opong should not be teaching an online class. You will be forced to purchase 3 different textbooks, all the while only using one. She responds late to emails, if at all, and shows no enthusiasm in furthering her students' capabilities. This teacher is accredited for making me rethink my major at CSCC, stay away from her.

Opong is by far the worst prof at CSCC. She does not post grades in a timely manner, and provides poor feedback. She will not respond to emails in a timely manner. Her syllabus is inaccurate. This was intro to networking, but it felt as if she wants you to have a ground level understanding before taking the class. AVOID AT ALL COST!!!!!

Non-responsive. Requires additional software to be installed (4 applications) on your local machine. The day before Finals finally posted previous 10 weeks worth of homework. Horrible instructor. You basically teach yourself and I won't ever take another class being taught by her.

Non-responsive. Consider reporting to the president's office. Incompetent--doesn't know the subject matter. Definitely avoid her. If you have to take her class, report her to the president's office. Seriously, report her.

Very abrasive. Shut down an inquiry by telling me I'm wrong because of inexperience, that she's right, and don't talk about it anymore, rather than explaining to me why I was wrong. Rude to everyone, very nitpicky.

Professor Opong is a bad apple of Columbus state community college. she is a disgrace to this esteemed college by letting her students helpless and despair. After decades of teaching on the same department she doesn't have any significant contribution to the department and student. Please let her go. She should be checked her credential again.

If you have to take any of her courses, I recommend you quit your job (if you have one) and don't take any other classes while you take hers. The amount of homework she assigns is absolutely absurd. You can't retain anymore than 10% of what she assigns. I haven't learned anything from her, except that free online sources teach me better.

Horrible. Course load is absurd and she expects everyone at a community college to have zero resemblance of any life outside her class. Flies through the content due to it's size and expects you to read hours and hours and hours on your own. If you don't succeed its your fault for being worthless. Oh and shes a genius who knows everything

This professor bombards you with a ton of work i mean multiple projects a week. and all very time consuming. This is an introductory course but it feels very advanced. Two exams a mid term worth 125/500 and a final 175/500. if you fail these two you are done. and they are hard. the mid term was 100 questions in 90 mintues. She grades very late.

This professor has a skewed view of education. The class is outdated in material and information. The structure is meant to be tricky more than learn. Most of the credit for grading is done in the tests, which are T/F, and multiple choice only while 90% of the work is done with projects that take quite a bit of time. 40% pass rating for CSCI1152.

Be ready to devote 25+ hours a week to this class. When you think it's bad, it only gets worse. There is no guidance for the labs, the homework assignments are massive, start on them early, and just wait for lab 3 where I ended up writing nearly 30 single spaced pages, and good luck find the right material to study for quizzes and tests.

Worst teacher I've ever had. Does not filter material from books, just assigns massive amounts of work that has no real world relevance and is outdated. Does not highlight important material in class. When responding to questions, she did not explain topics clearly and was confusing. I did not feel she provided any help learning material.

An awful professor. I would give her a 0 if I could. We maybe heard from her 5 times all semester (and we usually only heard from her when she had to correct one of her many incorrect dates on syllabus). Despite having a lot of assignments that all take a long time, there are three assignments worth over 60% of your grade. Would never take again.

Worst professor by far that I've had the misfortunate of having. It's crazy that CSCC still allows someone who has a terrible pass rate, still be teaching. The level of communication is 0. Hw's are terribly long and hard for a "entry" level class. Did you get points off? She wont tell you why you did lol. What a joke, avoid avoid avoid.

By far the worst professor I've every had. Doesn't know the material, slow to grade, no feedback, and no real life examples. Memorize the entire book and you may get a C. Anyone would do a better job teaching. Avoid this her if possible.

Just a downright bad professor. I don't know how else to put it. The things she requires in this class specifically are practically impossible. She has zero leniencies and spoke to me in a pretty demeaning tone. Not sure how she's still a professor at this point

This professor is by far, the worst professor anyone can get. If you have a question, you shouldnt even bother asking because she is completely unwilling and help you. Get out of her class or you will fail.

None of her material is produced by her, its all just grabbed online, and the other half is just the E-Textbook assignments and readings that she makes you buy. Awful course. I think I'd rather suck all of the air out of a tire for fun.

She is by far the worst professor I have ever had in my life. She is so beyond rude if you try to email her, she takes 3 days minimum to answer you even if you try to email her. She takes forever to post any of the assignments. I have no idea how she is even a professor anymore, she makes it seem like she logs on to blackboard once a month

Patricia Opong. Quite possibly the worst instructors I have ever had the displeasure of having. If you like pointless assignments with little to no input from your instructor, contradictory syllabuses, little to no guidance on assignments and a technology professor that grades your work worse than an English professor, then by all means sign up.

If you have ever thought you had a bad professor, you will have an even worse one with opong. She is by far the worst professor I have ever seen. She should of been fired years ago. She posts no annoucments, she posts assignments that are so beyond confusing and provides no help and if you mess up one thing she will give you a 0. Avoid at all costs

Only take this class if you want to feel like you are doing 6 classes at once with the hardest assignments you can find that comes with no help from the professor. It actually feels like there is no teacher for the class at all. Also, when you turn it in just expect a 0 because the instructions are going to be very unclear, its a blast!!!

Patricia Opong was one of the worst professors I have ever had. Her online course had no structure and was the messiest course I have ever seen. I had surgery during the semester and Patricia refused to give me a few extra days for my assignments. She has no assignments or content entered into blackboard, so due dates were Uknown.

WORST PROFESSOR IN ALL MY YEARS OF COLLEGE DO NOT TAKE HER CLASS Structure of class is terrible, assigns random HW from 2 books. TOUGH GRADER. NO PARTIAL CREDIT. Exams are very fast paced and include lots of written response. Takes 4/5 days + 2/3 emails to get any kind of reply. Voiced my concerns, she spoke to me in a rude and condescending way.

She is the only professor for 2770. Don't do anything that requires you to take this course. Everything said about any other course of hers also applies here. Ignores email, long hw assignments, takes off insane amounts of points for "outdated sources" even when the assignment directly tells you to use it, long test w/ lot of writing in short time.

An online class and the materials did not have the correct dates. There is a critical project due in the class and she kept the details of the project as hidden and changed them two weeks before. She turns off materials each week you you can't see or use them again. I have 40+ college credits and have never gotten below a B. Killed my scholarship.

If you love a professor who has no respect for their student's time or schedule, this is your professor! All Discussion boards must be multiple paragraphs, done on 3 different days, and gives 0 partial credit if not done to perfection. No lectures, expensive book, and 1 sentence weekly communications with typos. RUN. Worst professor I've ever seen.

Her idea of 'helping' you with a problem is rereading the question to you condescendingly. Your discussion boards won't be fully looked at, she just looks for if you responded twice to the same person and immediately gives a 0/10 regardless if you had other posts to other people. Doesn't teach, the book does.

I have never had to write a bad review but this one is warranted. All the other reviews are correct. She was the only option available for online learning. I had to take her class. Barely responds to emails (if at all). Never posts grades. Very strict on grading and assignments. If you have other options outside of her CHOOSE them!!

This teacher is tough on grading, with no partial nor late credit on anything, yet she is late to put in grades. There isn't any courtesy in making a weekly announcement or answering frequently asked questions, which doesn't take time at all on her end. Don't bother messaging her and just look in the syllabus for practically the whole course.

Tried to email for clarification on the final project and it took 2 weeks and an additional email for a reply where she stated she would help and hasn't. Now the final project is due so losing out on points since no partial credit is given. Be prepared to do a lot of reading and quizzes that don't matter to your grade at all but are required.

These courses aren't free, I didn't register for this course to read a textbook, and hear radio silence from the instructor. No respect or courtesy for the students or our time. She is very strict about grading for particularly no reason and she can't manage to put grades in on time. Taking this course was a huge spit in the face to us students.

This is the worse professor ever. No passion. She is too lazy and do not expect any helpful feedback. Final exam with many errors. Many questions with no correct answer and after sending her an email to about she wasn't even kind enough to acknowledge her errors. Proof of unprofessionalism and lack of dedication.

Avoid this professor like the plague. Insanely tough grader, the homework is from a outdated 10 year old textbook. Says her goal is to help students graduate but doesn't do anything to actually help, her feedback is useless and she has a huge superiority complex.

Professor Opong has a clear and obvious superiority complex. Her grading criteria makes no sense and does not care about your time, effort or success. She's overly strict for no reason and has a bunch of errors in her assignments and tests. She has no respect for any student and no student has respect for her. Run far away.

Definitely my worst professor at CSCC. Homework assignments and tests have errors and are outdated. No recorded lectures. Her instructions on assignments are extremely unclear. If asked for clarification, she will say to refer to syllabus/instructions. Reach out early about final paper topics, failed paper even though I sent 15 relevant topics.

By far the worst professor I have ever had. If you do not do assignments to her liking you lose many points, barely any partial credit is given. Basically never responds to any emails sent. I sent emails regarding the final paper and it took over a week to receive feedback. Sent about 10 different topics and none got approved so I failed the paper.

Takes forever to respond to emails!!!!!!!! Sometimes doesn't even respond. I'm a high school student and when my computer wouldn't work for an assignment she expected me to drive (can't drive) to one of the college campuses and do the assignment there. I had also emailed her days in advance but she didn't respond until 5 hours before it was due!

I dont recommend this class. You will learn nothing from it. Run away!

Professor is actually the worst professor I have ever had. Instructions for hw and labs are vague. If you do not do everything to professors liking will take off many points. There is absolutely no partial credit. Will be months behind on grading you work, so you have no idea how you are doing in the class. Takes forever to answer emails back.

This women has the worst high brow attitude out there. She has a 55% grade average right now for my class and isn't willing to give zoom meetings at all for her class. And has no videos for her class either. Very harsh grader but picks every little detail and is a stickler for following a syllabus she constantly changes

Wont turn in grades until after finals After turning in my research paper topic and getting rejected I never heard back from her after submitting another topic so I did not do the final research paper and because I didn't do the final research paper she lowered my grade on my other assignments to put me down to a C from a B.waste of time and money.

She doesn't care about the students, grade things last minute and the curriculum taught in class is very rough that I think it should be for a higher degree.

Awful excuse for a professor. Disorganized and majority of the assignments are not worth any points at all. No accountability. This class is worth 500 points total, miss anything at all and you'll end up with a C. She is also a snob in her emails. Very disingenuous.

The classs is so confusing to navigate and she gives to feed back when you do badd on a reflection post. The class also has 6 assignments with random times and you cant access them all at once.

This administrator is a GPA wrecking ball. She oversees many of the classes in the computer science programs and they are all consistently bad. Her intention is to make the classes challenging, not to help you actually learn the material. No exam review guides and no partial credit given.
