She is an incredible woman with a accent, but after the first 10 mins you are able to understand her. She is always willing to help whether it be in class or even after class. She is a great person and anyone who is lucky enough to have her will really enjoy everything you learn and her jokes.

Dr. P, is probably one of the sweetest women on avc campus. she does have a thick accent but, never the less she tries very hard and does exceptionally well considering english is her second language, to say the least. She is very patient with her students, very caring, and damn good and what she does. I give her an A!

She is so hot! guys, take her class, you will definately learn biology. Aside from her looks, she is such a passionate teacher. She is the one true teacher who loves her job, and cares about your grade as much as you do. One of the most memorable teachers i'll probably have. Dr. Patricia is an amazing teacher who really enjoys what she does. She truly cares about her students and wants you to succeed. She has a little bit of an accent but she will try to explain something till you understand it. She is very helpful and understanding. She's the best biology teacher at AVC. & also if you can take her for lab & lecture.

This professor is wonderful. She will go out of her way to help you understand this very diverse subject. She has instilled an interest within me for biology to the point that I am upset about the major I am working toward. Sorry to say that she won't be teaching the lecture part of the class in Spring '09, just the lab.

Mrs. Palavecino is one of the best teacher I have had here at AVC. For some it was a little hard to understand her on account of her accent. But overall She was very sweet helpful, she will provide you with as much help as you need.I had a great time.I learned a lot and hasn't hard at all.

Dr. P is a wonderful teacher. She makes clear what she requires and wants you to learn. Very kind and patient too.Extra credit available for perfect attendance and each weeks quiz has 2 extra questions. Do the lab prep each week and study. Great class and instructor!

Very nice lady! She does have a strong accent but is fairly easy to understand she made her lab fun and is very helpful with any questions you have. If you miss a lab she lets you go to any other instructors lab to make it up. LOVED her!

Bio 101 LAB....she is very nice, funny, helpful, and offers extra credit unlike most lab teachers....highly recommend

TAKE HER! She is such an amazing and sweet teacher (reminded me of my mom). She is very approachable with any questions. Go to library to see the solution manual (I took pics). Midterm+final=grade. DON'T BUY THE NEW BOOK, check postings in front of student store. I used 6th edition ($45 w/manual)and did great!

The sweetest woman ever. She will help you answer any questions you have. This was my second time taking this course, but my first time in her class and I am passing with an A. She explained things very well and funny. She does have an accent, but if you speak spanish it wont be a problem for you at all.

She is such a great lab instructor I had her for bio 101 and before we start lab she goes over everything and writes it on the board so it helps during the lab a lot she is very sweet and so helpful !

Palavecino is such a great person and teacher! She is so enthusiastic during her lectures, makes Bio enjoyable to learn! Like all Bio classes, you have to pay attention and put in effort, but her lectures really help. She really tries to give advice about all tests. She genuinely cares about every student. Tells you your test scores right away!

She is an awesome Lab proffessor. Quizes every class. She has an Argentinian accent, is very upbeat, and jokes around a lot. Lectures in her lab class to make sure people are on track. Do Not come late! Explains dissections and labs thoroughly. She is very nice and very helpful and wants you to participate.

I took this class over summer her class was composed of 2 Lab Practicals (Tests). A quiz everytime you show up to her class so you must read and study off of her mini lectures (take notes) and dissections, slides etc. She does let you work in groups. If you show up to every single class meeting she will give extra credit! Definitely recommend!

I actually took Dr.P for Bio 100 lecture but she did an amazing job! She was so funny, caring and gave a ton of extra credit. You do have to actually study for her tests but if you do its an easy A. She was also very good at answering her emails and being available outside of class hours. Wish she taught other classes I need!

One of my favorite profs ever. Very energetic and friendly, funny, patient, encouraging, passionate about science--she makes biology enjoyable. She loves to chat about nature and science. Makes the 3hr lab sessions bearable! She does have an accent (Spanish) but has no problem repeating herself if necessary. Lovely lady and good instructor!

Shes a great professor. She really cares about her students succeeding. Every class there is a quiz on the subject matter from the previous class and there are a few questions about what you will learn about that class (its best to skim over your lab manual). Each quiz she offers extra credit. I failed both the midterm & final yet passed with a B

Everything in her class is done in groups. Shes a nice lady, dont be late to class and be respectful. She really cares about her students and is super approachable. She doesnt overdo it with homework and tests/quizzes. This class really isnt difficult, just study for the tests and youll be fine.

Dr. P is the best bio professor you'll ever have. She cares so much for her students, and inspires you to want to learn more. She's great at lecturing, and keeps you interested. Her class doesn't feel like it's three hours long. Her tests can be difficult, but she gives you a review before each test. She's hilarious, and I highly recommend her.

Dr. Palavecinos lectures are the most comprehensive and informative as it helps the student summarize what is learned from Lab Manual reading material. She is attentive and takes into consideration any issues a student might have in the class. Provides very thorough feedback and genuinely cares about her students!

Dr. P is an alright professor kind of a bit on the annoying side cause of her Spanish accent, showing up to class on time is really really important because you have to do quizzes on the labs you do on canvas or your grade goes down; also try not to miss or skip class even if you have a funeral or something to go to your grade will drop really low.

TAKE for lab. She is super nice, always happy, and explains well. She will help if you have any questions. There is a quiz every week but they will help for the Exams. She times you, each question is a minute and there are 30 questions for the Exams.The last 4 classes we had she gave us 10points extracredit for just showing up and it helped a lot.

Professor P is wonderful! She's super sweet and tries so hard to make sure everyone understands and passes. I took Botany 103 and the lab, so every Tuesday and Thursday was a lecture and labs were on Thursday. She makes time for little breaks so you can breathe. There's a quiz every week, but it's super easy.

One of the best teachers I've ever had. Her lectures aren't too long and she teaches the material well. During the labs she's always eager to answer any questions or help out if you run into any issues. Overall w teacher give homegirl a raise

She will help you if you have any questions. Very sweet but always make sure to pay attention to the lecture. Ask many questions in the lab for good understanding. The only thing that was tough was her test/quizzes so study study study! She cares for her students. Attendance is Mandatory so you understand everything.

Amazing lecture teacher!!

Biology professor Palavecino is amazing biology professor. Teaches general biology in a very easy method. I will take another biology class with her its plant botany biology class in incoming semesters.

Super nice and caring! I would def take again she actually cares about her students and she likes to make sure everyone understands what she teaches. She offers extra credit at the end of the semester. Just make sure to study and be prepared for the tests and be on time every day!

Dr. P is extremely caring & does offer extra credit but this class is extremely test heavy. You're graded on only 4 exams & 4 hw which doesn't change your grade much even if you get the full points. I wish she would offer more hw because it would also help for the exams. She's not terrible but I recommend taking Coleman/Conroy for a better grade.

Professor Palavecino is a very enthusiastic professor! I love that about her as it makes lectures fun to listen to. You just gotta be able to keep up. She is more than happy to re explain if need be though. She utilizes TopHat for online work which is easy to forget about. So stay on top of that and don't miss deadlines. Overall a great professor!
