This is a wonderful professor. She makes science much more interesting than it should be - it's still not interesting. Her tests are not easy, but if you study A's are possible. She gives so much extra credit.

Look, if you can't study than get out of college. This teacher is one of the greatest. Assignments take you no longer than 30 mins to complete, her jokes and stories you stay awake and class is over in no time. Test are rather hard. Lots of ExCred though

Very knowledgeable! There's a lot of info to know. Tests are easy if u study. You learn a lot abt diet/nutrition. We did a 3-day food diet analysis w/c was interesting. The only thing abt her is SHE DOES NOT ALLOW TAPE RECORDING in the class. She picks on skinny and overweight ppl a lot.

The most laid back teacher in VCC! she is a tottal hippie and the class is always funny as hell. The tests are challenging but most if not all are group test or take home tests. She offers a lot of extra credit and all you have to do is study the notes that she provides you and you will get an A !

Excellent teaching strategy. very relaxed, casual approach that motivates the students. Low stress class. Field exercises are engaging and fun- i recommend taking her in the fall so the weather is not so bad, in the summer I'd imagine the fieldwork could get a bit hot.

she was a funny little women! the class itself was fun, laid back, and easy. test are easy if you study for them, theres take home test, and the final was a project. the homework is minimal but its easy and it takes 10 maybe 15 min. overall it was a lot of fun and i learned a lot more than i thot i would.

GREAT TEACHER AND INTERESTING CLASS. It was essentially an easy A as long as you put some effort in. The assignments were easy, however the tests are little tricky. 7 Tests, 2 HW Assignments, 1 Fieldtrip on your own and 1 Group Project. NO COMPREHENSIVE FINAL EXAM. I recommend this teacher highly.

A very easy class. but... I dont think she is a good teacher, talks about anything but nutrition, a very disorganized lady. Some people have Dr.Smith mixed up with another professor with the same name.It would be benificial to print out the modules and read through them while you are taking your online quizes.This course was challenging because of the work load, but if you read her syllabus you will do fine. The class is mostly note taking (which she provides, its filling in the blanks from a powerpoint in class), studyin the notes, and taking a test based off the notes. Attendance isnt mandatory, but if you miss a day, you miss A LOT. So as long as you show up, pay attention, and take notes Youll end up with an A. There's also a project at a zoo, easy

GREAT Science Professor! Best I've Ever had! Her humor is a bit crude but besides that she is AWESOME! She gives you everything you need to know for your test and projects. if you follow her directions, show up to class and review your notes you'll do fine in her class. Textbook not necessary, like i said just study her notes. Would take again!

I took the honors, once a week class. Interesting subject, a lot of note taking, and KEEP your notes, you'll need them for the final. She let us use a reference book for the test, which helped! 3 projects, and 3 field trips (hiking and canoeing). Very nice lady. I got an A and would recommend!

AWESOME PROFESSOR. super funny, made the class super interesting. Only thing I did not like was the group project at the end. But if your okay with group projects take her class. She's also really funny. Kind of a hippie surfer chick.

This was my final semester at Valencia. Actually, today was my final day on campus and my final class exam. Professor Smith is by far the absolute best instructor I have ever had at VCC.(and I've had a few).If you want to truly learn, PLEASE take her. Your knowledge will far reach the classoom. I promise!~

BEST TEACHER EVER! She makes learning fun! I enjoyed coming to this class. She's hilarious and tells stuff how it is. Study the notes, stay off your phone, don't come late to class, and you're guaranteed an A !!!

AMAAAAAZZZINNNGGG PROFESSOR! Her way of teaching is the best, notes printed beforehand so its easy to follow in class. she is toooo funny! Tests & other work were really good we got to use different sources like groups, partners, notecards, or take home sometimes. TAKE HER !!!!!!

Best professor to take for people who don't like science. Notes are fill in the blank and attendance isn't mandatory. Tests are either open note, take home, or group tests. No homework, 2 projects and tons of extra credit opportunities. She's also hilarious! You will learn a lot in this class and she makes boring topics interesting.

Nice. Clear. And to the point. Notes are fill in the blank and she lets you use a 3x5 notecard on the test and sometimes a partner. Very good professor.

Professor Smith is my absolute favorite teacher I've had while at Valencia. She is really cool, and knows how to get a laugh out of her students. Her lessons are very clear and precise and most tests were take-home. Her great sense of humor really made it more enjoyable while learning, as well as her great knowledge of the material.

She's nice and easy going. Majority of tests were take home. 2 super easy projects that she grades fairly. You can use your notes on the Final and we got to work with a partner on it! Super easy and interesting class, there's no reason why you shouldn't get an A.

Alas, Professor Patricia of East Campus retired at the end of 2014!! Oh noooo! Enjoyed her classes and learned much. She worked with you to help you learn the material and provided understandable notes. She made it real for the student, and told some great stories to accent the info in class. She will be missed!
