Unprepared, Always Late, awful time management
Very rushed, always came late, and always kept class late
Very nice, but sometimes hard to follow if you have no background.
she does not explain stuff very well, she grades very hard has souther accent :(
No Comments
Doesn't have a PhD, pretty sure she only teaches cuz her husband is Dept. Head.
She is a GREAT teacher!!! She is SO NICE, and really knows how to teach.
She can't explain things, not there for office hours, and hard to understand.
she should slow down and follow a lesson plan. explain things better
Grrrr.... grades evilly. No matter how hard you try, you can't get above a C.=o(
she's very sweet and helpful, tests are difficult though, hw is optional
She is hard to follow and is unclear. Rushes when you ask for help.
Very scattered, confusing lectures, imposible tests
Shes a spunky one. tests are extremely difficult - nearly everyone bombed exam
Hard tests, extremely nice and helpful. Not at office hours on time. Very Nice
don't do it!!!!!!!!!!!
Evil, awful, evil, awful, evil, awful!!!!
Nice person, but class often goes over Test are hard no extra credit Not Good

horrible teaching
She has gotten a lot better from what I have read from here. I am in her class now, she speaks slowly and takes time on people's questions. I find her to be really quite easy. Better then the last stats class I was in.
she is awful, don t take this class she is very nice but cant explain anything so the students understand. test are mostly definition! whats up wit that?
she always is late to class but seems to NEVER EVER let us leave on time, we get out at least 5 minuted late everyday.....and shes a horriblw professor
Unorganized. Can't explain things very well.
She is a horrible teacher! She gives 3 tests, one of them over 7 chapters! She's always late, she is unorganized and has a lot of trouble explaining things. DO NOT TAKE THIS PROFESSOR!! Get someone who knows what they're doing!
She's really nice. It does seem as if she has a hard time explaining things sometimes, but it college and you have to teach yourselves too. She can't hold your hand the entire way.
Ok math is my thing, but when I had the 1st exam in front of me I couldn't believe it! Didn't we just spend WEEKS on equations and all I have in front of me is a SHEET of definitions?! A little ree-dic people! Nice lady but throws too much at you at o
Bad way of Teaching
This was the hardest professor I have ever had! She had really high expectations and hard tests. She really doesn't grade on much, so you have to pretty much ace the tests, which is near impossible. Avoid this prof at all costs!
The class was so hard. So much memorizing! So much work! I almost failed, but Trish was so amazingly nice. She took me under her wing and saved my grade. SO NICE!
She is literally the nicest most caring professor i have ever been taught by, and her passion for the subject only helps you learn that much more effectivly! She is Great, even if her projects are not!!!
Exteremely horrible teacher. The only reason i got a b in it is because i have ap in high school, and i didn't learn a thing, half the time i had to correct her. There are only 3 tests and a couple of projects. So take it if you know math, or drop her immeadialy.
Always late, would avoid this teacher!!
This is one teacher that you should never take!!! She doesn't have an effective teaching style and is very unorganized. It is not hard to find yourself falling behind is this class, and don't expect any help from her. DO EVERYTHING YOURSELF, DO NOT RELY ON HER TO TEACH YOU!!!
Didn't teach how to do SPSS assignments. I honestly went into each assignment having no idea what to do, and most the time came out still not having a clue. If she knows you don't understand something, rather than helping, she tells whoever you sit beside to help, rather than her. Don't take her!
Wow..a lot of negativity about her! I liked her a lot, she was one of the easiest profs. I had, just ask her for help and she'll help you. She helped us a lot of our SPSS assignments and made sure that we understood what we needed to know before the tests. I don't what who says what, TAKE THIS PROFESSOR!
one of the easiest math classes ive ever taken, lets you use note cards for tests, and will look over assignments before you turn them in. never did the homework or reading, plus she has extra credit opportunities every week. the only draw back is that she is not very prompt in returning assignments/tests.
This professor was absolutely AWFUL. She shoved entirely too much material down the classes throat in a semester, and didn't even make it clear which parts of the text we needed to understand. She went too fast in lecture, and always tried to get us to stay after to get the rest of the information that she left no time for in class. DON'T TAKE HER!
I disagree with all negative comments. great prof, very helpful and pretty clear. she moves kinda quick, but just pay attention and do the hw. Tests take the hole class period, but you are alloud a 4x6 card for each test. I fit all notes on my card and got an A in the class. 2 spss, both not that bad. final is cumulative but what math class isnt?
Has her favorites! Class runs late EVERY SINGLE day! Has no interest in helping students understand material and makes you feel really stupid for asking questions. Crams way too much in to one lecture and isn't clear about what to understand!
Horrible teacher, doesn't explain anything, especially the SPSS, makes you analyze way to much, is always late for class, and we almost always go over in time. HORRIBLE!!!!
Do not take this professor unless you already know how to use SPSS because she does not explain it very well. Also when you ask a question she simply says that she already talked about that topic...its in her notes that she discussed it....and to ask another student. Avoid this professor.
I think she taught fairly well and was pretty clear. If you haven't taken stats before, you have to put in effort, it's the only way you'll learn. Her quizzes and tests are fair and you can use notecards. SPSS was a pain but overall, I'd recommend taking her.
STAY AWAY, very difficult to understand what she is talking about. Doesnt teach how to use SPSS AT ALL before dropping you into an assignment, and expecting you to know the stats and how to use a program you have never seen before. Makes you rely on getting help from classmates and not her, which is a real problem when you live off campus. avoid!
She is very unhelpful. Unless you already have a general understanding of stats, dont take her. She does not explain things in depth, and gives assignments and just expects you to figure out what to do. She is very unclear. If you are not a math person, you will not pass her class. Run!
HORRIBLE prof. Throws an SPSS program assignment at you without explaining how to do it. She's not very helpful at all - don't expect to be able to ask her a qustion outside of class. Doesn't hand back tests for week, and she throws random stuff on the test that she never talked about or is hardly even mentioned in the book Avoid at all costs.
This class does require some effort. I really liked Professor Stephenson because she is so enthusiastic about the subject and she wants you to be too. The only problems I ran into was she tended to move too quickly for the class. There are plenty of extra credit opportunities (one a week). However, I would not suggest ever missing a class.
The most annoying thing about her is her laugh...and she is always laughing at her own jokes! Beware of pop quizes that she doesn't give you enough time to finish! The book is used all the time and tests are hard! SPSS is not explained well either....not a good prof!
She is horrible. She is a nice person but her teaching skills suck. SPSS assignments are not explained at all. She is always late to class and then keeps talking 3-4 minutes past the end of class.STAY AWAY if you can. I couldnt and was stuck in the class for the whole semester !
Prof. Stephenson moves really fast and assigns homework on stuff we have yet to cover. I ended up going to other professors for help on her SPSS assignments because her lack of explanation. There are a lot of pop quizes and she doesn't usually give enough time to finish them. Tests are managable only because of the notecard we can use. Avoid her!
absolute worse teacher on Earth, no lie! Random ridiculously obsurde quizzes that include nothing you have ever learned. What she talks about in class is worthless and never helps.class averages are terrile and many fail.she makes up her own grading on tests, never hands anyhting back in time.hands spss assignments that she never teaches you how 2 do
She was no help. Was lazy and didn't want to answer questions in class or help much outside class. She also was VERY late passing things back and so you couldn't learn from them. She passed things back WHILE we took the FINAL exam. Not to mention it was DISTRACTING! ALSO she is the HARDEST grader for NO REASON! Don't take her She's lazy & careless.
Very hard grader, and unclear about expectations. Hard to pay attention to, seems insecure. She doesn't seem to care about her job or any of the students and was usually unprepared, late, and didn't have assignments or tests graded on time. And she handed back assignments DURING our final exam :(
One of the worst professors ive had in my college experience. Her office hours were 7-8AM once a week?!?! and she answered e-mails 3 days later. Never posted any grades on BB. Never showed up the day before an exam. If you are not able to teach urself. dont take this class. It a waste of your time and a distruction to your GPA !
Horrible!!! She was late every day and made up for it by going late. She is a tough grader and very unclear of her expectations. Even if you do the homework and try to understand you are doomed to fail the class. She has a tendency to miss the day before exams and she never hands things back on time. We got stuff back during the final, DISTRACTION
Good teacher. Answers many questions when ever I ask to not sure about the other comments. Can use a notecard on test and all quiz's are told ahead of time so you can study! Good sense of humor.
Prof Stephenson is a very nice lady and will give you help when you ask...But she is very unclear about expectations and the tests are almost impossible! Shes a really hard grader!!
Absolutely horrendous! Late to class almost every day which is very disrespectful. Took forever to grade/hand back assignments and tests. Unclear about test expectations. TOUGH grader. GPA killer, seriously she'll hand it to you in a jar. If you must take this prof. make sure you take it Credit/No Credit STAY AWAY AT ALL COSTS!!!
She will go out of her way to make sure you undestand the material; she will even schedule a study group before a test for extra help. She does cram a lot into her lectures but always goes over the material the next class period. Tests are somehwat hard but all the problems comes right from notes/homework.
The worst professor I have had at GVSU. Shows up to class late and then makes the class stay late. She assigns ridiculous amounts of work. Taught one chapter in five minutes once and then expected you to do a quiz. Doesn't let you know what your grade is during the semester. Only plus is she offers extra credit and notecards on tests. Stay away!!!
She is a really nice professor. Tests and quizzes are somewhat difficult but she allows a notecard cheat sheet for exams. She offers 1 point extra credit every week for current events dealing with stats.
While Prof Stephenson is a very nice lady, she is terrible at explaining stats. She does not give clear notes, explains concepts in a matter of minutes, and is always late to class. She explains the material by going through the book and pointing out what to read. Her tests are much harder than the homework. Grading is very hard.
I really liked her for the first half of the semester, but when the material became more difficult she seemed less clear about concepts. She does offer a lot of extra credit, but her tests are much harder and longer than I expected. She is somewhat helpful if you email her or go to her office. Take her if you are dedicated to statistics.
Possibly one of the strangest classes I have yet to be in at GV. I thought Prof. was going to be one of the nicest teachers I had ever had, yet the longer the class went the worse she got. She would purposely pick out students that were confused to answer questions. Overall an okay class, but she tells you to read the book instead of teaching.
Easily the worst teacher Ive ever had in my entire schooling career. No structured notes, jumps around, isnt confident in her own answers when teaching(bc she really doesnt know what shes talking about)tests are redic for the time given to complete them, "loses train of thought"too often, when really shes just clueless. Very Snotty
Extremely nice prof. Cares about her students and their performance in the class. Difficult subject matter that requires practice outside of class.
Great Prof., but a very difficult class. She is very generous with giving out extra credit. Tests are hard, but it is possible to get a good grade in the class with a lot of hard work.
Definitely choose a different teacher. She gives an opportunity for 1 point extra credit a week, but doesn't explain or teach really. She has you read the section and examples in the book instead, and expects you to complete the homework. Tests are nothing like the homework at all. Expect one quiz a week. Weirdest class ever.
This prof was really terrible. She knows what she is talking about but she goes crazy fast, not covering any of the material completely. She jumps around and only spends a couple minutes talking about any one concept. She's willing to help, but plan on teaching the whole course to yourself on your own time. Very unclear, GPA KILLER. AVOID!
stats is hard. this prof is a little all over the place in class, she moves very fast and can get off topic. its a lot of material to cover, and she doesnt spend a lot of time on each section. a lot is up to you to figure out with the textbook. GO TO HER OFFICE HOURS- she is super helpful there and teaches much slower. very helpful there.
Don't EVER take this class with this professor. She is without a doubt, the worst professor I have ever had in my life. She always shows up late to class, makes you stay late every class period, and expects you to know everything without barely even teaching it to you! Save yourself by not taking this professor. Absolutely horrible.
She is a really nice lady, but prepare to put a lot of time in. Every class period you get assigned over an hour of homework (randomly takes as a quiz grade), along with lecturing entire chapters in less than 10 minutes. She doesnt use bb and the tests are the hardest I have come across. Overall she makes the class a lot harder than it needs to be.
Ugh. where do I begin? I had her for sta 215 and it was terrible. Like be prepared to teach yourself basically everything. she gives out lots of extra credit opportunities. she posts a million BB announcements either late the night before class or the morning of assigning new things or announcing a quiz. dont take her!!
Expect to practically live at the Statistics Center at Mackinac and get a private tutor right away. I took the 3 hour class only on Fridays. That was the first mistake. Second mistake was choosing her as the professor. REALLY hard to follow in class, notes are unclear, crams vital information in the last minutes of class, and an insane amount of HW
I absolutely LOVED Stephenson. She's an enthusiastic southern woman who really knows her stuff. She cares about her students and wants them to learn and do well. She offers a TON of easy extra credit and will also replace your lowest exam score with the final if it is higher. If you need help, just ask her and she'll walk you through it.
Overall. she's a very good professor. Some people had trouble and some people didn't. In Stats 215, you either understand it or you don't. I would recommend doing the homework she assigns (which is optional) because it makes the exams a lot easier.
I loved her for STA 215! great prof but she's kinda all over the place. offer SO much extra credit its impossible to fail. tests aren't too bad and doesn't collect hw! I would recommend her!
This class is a ton of work. She loves to help but I had to go to the Stats Lab to really understand the material. She goes long on lectures a lot, often has to speed through a section making everything even more confusing. Gives out extra credit every week for a current event paper - takes about 5 minutes to write up, even more during class.
What an awful prof. She sounds really nice at first, and isn't really mean, but is completely out of touch with students. She gives a ton of last minute assignments, and posts a million blackboard notifications of what to do the night before. Exam has nothing to do with homework. Don't take her. Stats isn't that hard, she just really really sucks.
Professor Stephenson is a very nice person and doesn't mean any harm, however, with all due respect, she is a horrible teacher. She throws pop quizzes around from left to right, doesn't teach the material and expects you to just know it when the test comes, and rushes through notes with absolutely no clarity. Avoid her class at all costs.
When you click that button during course registration to register for her course, you might as well head to the stats center immediately and pitch a tent with a semesters supply of food and resources in it because you are going to live in the stats center. Very unclear teaching style and tends to send an email the night before class with hw to do
Professor Stephenson is the hardest professor I have had so far and it is exhausting trying to stay up to pace in her class, she rushes through a chapter just to get through a class. You will practically live in the stats center because the class is so hard. Do NOT take with Stephenson
Patricia is a tough teacher but she genuinely wants people to do well. She offers a lot of extra credit, both in class and out of class. She does tend to rush through some chapters, which means you have to go the Stats Center and her office hours but she is not as bad as people are saying. She allows note cards on the tests and a formula sheet.
Stephenson is by far the hardest teacher I have had at GVSU. She does want you to succeed but she is too hard of a grader. Take a better and easier Prof.
She doesn't require you to do your homework, but she will give pop quizzes and ask you to copy your homework down as the quiz. You also have to read the book to understand what's going on in the class. She has very high standards and her tests are tough.
I loved her as a professor! (and I am not a Stats major or minor!) She is a super nice lady, very helpful, and offers tons of extra credit!! Just take advantage of it! You do need to go to class, and she gives pop-quizzes, but they aren't hard. A lot of times they are open-noteshomework. Do the homework, and you'll ace the tests!
Do NOT take this course. You will be very unsatisfied with the grade you receive in equivalent to the amount of effort you put in to the class. Tests are very difficult, she throws pop quizzes around like crazy, and she sends out a ton of emails with hw to do the night before the class. This class is a pathetic representation of GV's quality.
She's super kind, funny, and there for you when you need it. But god damn, this class makes you work for it. Don't miss a day, and do the homework, or else you will not pass. This is not a class you can flake out on.
CLEAR about all expectations so if you get a bad grade, it's truly because you didn't try. Takes time out of office hours to meet with you. Really helpful to talk to her if you're not getting it, she's more than willing to take the time to help. Tests are challenging, but they should be, it's college.
She probably the worst professor I have had so far. She does way to fast, talks about irreverent information and she expects you to do all the work with no help. She is a horrible grader. If you use the right technique but have the wrong numbers, she will mark the whole thing wrong. DO NOT TAKE STAT 215 WITH HER!
This professor is very confusing. She talks extremely fast and doesn't make herself clear. If someone asks a question she explains it the same way over again. Her office hours were semi helpful but overall I wouldn't take this class. And she talks about her ratings on ratemyprofessor on the first day of class. I would take someone else.
She really cares about her student's learning, she is just very unorganized in teaching. She pulls up the textbook online a teaches directly out of that which wasn't very helpful because you have to read it anyway. Its not impossible to do well in her class, just be prepared to work very hard. She does give a ton of extra credit which is a plus!
This was by far the hardest class of my semester. There are assignments, that will take hours to finish, almost every week. Exams are extremely tough and she is not an easy grader. If you like doing hours of homework a week, taking ridiculous exams, and dealing with stress and anxiety, this class is for you. Otherwise, steer clear of this professor
Prof. Stephenson is really challenging, but I learned a lot from her. She's a picky grader, but she also gives extra credit. If you do what she says, you'll do fine. DEFINITELY talk to her if you're stuck. She's super helpful and genuinely wants you to understand. I like her southern accent and sense of humor, & she's very nice, just hard.
I took Statistics in high school and it was a pretty easy A. I took this class and it was nothing like high school. Prof. Stephenson was very confusing at first and she doesn't exactly follow the textbook, but if you go to class you can get a good grade. She gives TONS of extra credit, I had a C and after extra credit I ended up getting an A!
I just finished my final exam for Stephenson. At first, she was hard & I didn't like her. 1st test kicked my ass. Then she helped me go from an F to a B. You WILL work in her class, but I learned way more stats then my friends, and I need for my major. She's pretty nice & helpful, and worked with me to get my grade up. I think I aced the final!
Her exams are extremely hard compared to other STA 215 professors. Take another professor if you can. She gives a TON of extra credit so it's possible to raise your grade a ton if you do bad on exams. She's very picky in ways she wants things done and it's very different than the book. She gives good examples but labs and exams are very hard.
Shes a nice lady but this is the worst class I've had. The tests are HARD. If you miss one class you will be lost for the next two weeks. She goes so fast & if you ask her to demonstrate a homework problem she will most likely do about half of it very fast and then tell you that she will show you after class. The only positive is the extra credit.
She expects 10+ hours of study for each test (ahh!), and it's true. They are hard, but anything on the test was covered in class. But tests weigh the same as quizzes (pop, take-home or group) & labs. Really fast-has agenda of what to do in a class & will cover it. If lost, asks questions. She'll stop & answer. Knows her stuff, very nice.
The only way I survived this class was through the extra credit. She goes through material insanely fast and makes you learn by yourself for the most part. She's a super nice lady but I would not recommend her as a prof. There is a TON of extra credit opportunities. If you don't take advantage of them, you probably won't get a good grade.
Extremely nice person, but her teaching style is horrible. She acts as if this is your only class that you are taking. She goes through everything extremely quickly and leaves you with one in class example and the rest you're expecting to learn from the online book (I hate online books).
Terrible.
Absolutely the worst!! She thinks stats is the greatest thing in the world when it's not. She doesn't teach and expects you to spend all your time on her class only. Lots of extra credit but exams are HARD and she is a very picky grader. Stay away at all costs.
One of the most difficult professors I've ever had and I'm a senior. She moves exponentially fast through material and seems annoyed when students ask questions. I had to get a tutor for this course and even he was blown away by how fast she was teaching the material. She doesn't seem to care if her students succeed. Our entire class struggled.
Professor Stephenson not only gives a quiz every day but she does not go over them, only drops one, and never posts answers online. In order to go over them you have to go to her office hours which she always cancels. You don't get anything from the mandatory lectures either because she talks a mile a minute and is no help in answer questions.
I took Stephenson for STA 220 and she moves very fast. She sometimes doesn't finish lectures in class b/c students ask questions and has to upload notes online, which still don't make sense. Quiz EVERY week. Doesn't go over quizzes and doesn't offer extra credit. Tough grader for quizzes and tests.
DO NOT. I REPEAT, DO NOT TAKE HER. She is hands down the worst professor I've ever had. Stats 215 should be one of my easiest classes but she has made it my hardest by far. She expects you to learn so much on your own. She doesn't give you your first test back until after the drop date (purposefully, and the class av. was a 60-something). DON'T.
She's a very nice lady and will work with you, but goes really fast. I'm a transfer student and it was a complete shock taking her class compared to my other ones. She DOES NOT post any grades ever so you have no idea where you stand.
Stats shouldn't be hard, especially introduction stats, yet somehow she managed. She moves extremely fast and is always knocks points for the simplest of things. She regularly misses her own office hours as well. She's extremely nice, but I would not recommend her
She goes fast in class & doesn't give many examples. I wouldn't recommend her to someone who thinks they'll have a hard time understanding stats or is just a slower learner. On the plus side, she offers lots of extra credit and is a sweet woman. She knows her stuff, just teaches fast. She also doesn't post grades on blackboard which stinks a bit.
Stats was never my strong suit, but I swear Stephenson is the only reason I passed STA215. She's super nice with grading, there's tons of opportunities for extra credit, and she'll always be willing to help you if you come to her. Plus she's not above regiving parts of an exam that everyone missed. And she's very friendly, which is always a plus.
She's very nice and clear about what she's looking for. I think the class was just tough in general regardless of teacher.
Steer clear fellow Laker! I strongly advise you to take someone else because you my friend will HATE your life if you decide to take Mrs. Stephenson as your stats professor. She simply makes the class harder than it has to be. I won't even go into details but let me just say if this is your first time, YOU WILL STRUGGLE BIG TIME! AVOID AVOID AVOID
Terrible prof. Expects 10+ hours of stdying for her exams. Friends from other sections have covered 3 chapters all semester - we've covered 9. Crap tons of homework. Extremely picky. Treats this INTRO stats class like a 300 or 400 level class. I will probably be taking this class again with a different prof. Bio-med major with a 3.8 GPA. Grade C-
Just look at the STATS about her on this page and make the right decision on whether you want to take stats with her or not. Hint: I wouldn't do it
Worst Professor AVOID AT ALL COST!!!!! She consistently finds new ways to mark you down on quiz's and tests. If one part of a question is wrong she will mark it off for every use of it in that problem, so one mistake turns into 5. Tests are difficult in terms of material and she gives you only 40 min. which isn't enough time
Unless you get on her good side early in the year she will love to take points off anywhere possible on your quizzes. Weekly quizzes, quite difficult if you haven't taken a stats class before. You must stay on top of the class work or you will quickly fall behind.
Stephenson gets a bad rap from many students, but she's really not that bad. She can be kind of flighty sometimes, but as long as you pay attention, study, and demonstrate to her that you're doing your best to learn, you'll be fine. Otherwise, she's a very friendly and personable professor, and will stop to talk to you outside class around campus.
This teacher is one of the most disorganized teachers I have ever had the displeasure of experiencing. She doesnt send out assigned homework until the night before class, then expects you to have it done that next day. Shes friendly, but doesnt know how to organize assignments, and wont keep track of grades for you on blackboard.
Timed quiz every week on whatever material was covered the week before; races thru lectures, especially after a test; sends out example problems late in the week and calls out the student body for waiting; expects you to love stats as much as she does. If you need this course, avoid this professor.
Look at the rest these reviews. I have nothing else to add about her teaching. All are true... Plus, if you go to report her to the statistics department for her terrible teaching, her HUSBAND is the DEAN of the statistics department!!! Not only was she a terrible professor, her husband is her boss... beyond WRONG!!! Incredibly disappointed...
I think some people are a little taken aback by how much they have to work to succeed in her class. However, Professor Stephenson is always very clear in what she wants. She gives lots of handouts for people to follow that she works very hard on and whatever she presents to the students, we in turn have to give back to her. I would take her again.
My class meets once a week and there is a lot of material. She goes pretty fast to and then gives a quiz every week. She posts lots of exercises and answers on line, so that's helpful. She really knows her stuff and I felt ready for the other class that needs stats. I liked her OK but she's a really picky grader. Had to watch the details.
Has a high bar and covers massive amounts of information in each class. Uses handouts, so don't miss. When I got lost (cuz she goes pretty fast), I went to her office and she helped me a lot. Other students would come in and she worked with all of us. Happened a few times. Don't mind hard if they're willing to help and are fair. She's both.
Quite a bit of homework/reading and lecture moved pretty quick, but she was always proactive in offering extra help during office hours and answering questions after class. If she sees that you care about your grade and want to do well, she will do whatever she can to help clarify! She offers TONS of extra credit so take advantage!
She is a great teacher and cares about the subject. She explains the topics well and gives extra credit. Homework isn't turned in for a grade unless she specifically says it is. Doing the homework does help with the tests and it helps when she randomly calls on you in class. If you do the homework and fill out your test notecard, you should pass.
Worst. Professor. Ever. Never followed through with her word. Talked too fast and assumed her students were stupid when they asked questions. Never take her!
The only thing I can say is avoid her at all costs. She expects way to much for a gen. ed class.
Prof Stephenson was great at getting stats concepts across to the class. Being a class using only engineering examples and methods, she taught very well the subject.
Professor Stephenson is not a bad professor, STA 215 just contains a ton of different things you need to know. She often gives extra credit opportunities and it would be in your best interest to take full advantage of these opportunities because they will help you immensely with your test grades and your overall grade at the end of the semester.
She wants her students to succeed, but that doesnt mean she makes it easy. Stats content is already hard and her explanations were sub-par; which made it harder. All group quizzes and weekly EC opportunities. Still, I got a D-. Retook with a different prof who explained things MUCH better and got an A-Good explanations > extra credit points.
Awful professor. Weekly quizzes where she marks off points for the dumbest things. The week before one of the two tests she doesn't even finish explaining 3 entire pages of notes and sends it out for us to write down after class, as if that constitutes explaining those pages.
This class was not good. Expect a TON of homework and mandatory labs that take forever. Expect every class to do nothing at the beginning and in the last 5 minutes try to learn the most important topics. She grades super crazy, but she has a grader do it so a lot of times its inaccurate. I am going to get an A in the class only because there is EC
By far the worst professor I have ever had!! Definitely do not recommend her. In class she will just list off pages to read without teaching anything and the tests are sooo hard that they are impossible to finish in the time we get. FIND A DIFFERENT TEACHER FOR STATS, DO NOT TAKE PATRICIA STEPHENSON!!!
Although charismatic and cheerful, she paced the class far too quickly for me to be able to keep up, and explains lots and lots of tiny little concepts - her teachings all in the details. Get as much help as you can - youre gonna need it.
She was one of the best teachers that I have had at Grand Valley. She is very nice and understanding about everything. She gives a good amount of homework, but not too much, just enough so you are able to understand the material. She is very good at explaining things. She is happy to help whenever you need further explaining.
First of all, she is such a nice lady. She really does care for students. But, this class was a nightmare. So many times we would run out of time in class so she would just throw up 40 minute videos on blackboard to try to teach the subject. The test are pretty hard. She literally told us if we wanted to do good we need to study at least 10 hours..
Hard. Im not great at math & I told her that up front cuz her rating on this site is pretty scary. she said to come to her office for help, so I met with her weekly & she answered every one of my 99 emails. Lots of extra credit! I worked, but she held my hand & I'm getting a B! Students hugged her after the final, so she must have helped them too
Somebody said one of the worst... I think she's one of the best. Lots of work. Can't be slack. But test questions right out of homework and lots of handouts. I like the videos. Watched again when studying for test. Nice lady. Tried really hard to learn everyone's name. Do the extra credit!
I rated her last year after I finished 215 and gave her a pretty awful review because shes hard. But 215 is a prerequisite for other classes and I just finished a research methods class. I knew more stats then the people around me and usually had to help them with their stats. I was well-prepared stats-wise. Not mad anymore, just grateful.
I honestly really wanted to like Patricia as a professor but I just couldnt. She is a very very poor teacher that uses YouTube videos as a crutch to teach instead of actually teaching. Honestly one of the worst professors that Ive had.
One of the Worst professor Ive ever had. She doesnt care to help her students if you go for help and she relays on you to learn outside of class and doesnt teach.
Do whatever you can to not have this professor. She has an extremely high bar but actually teaches very little. She expects you to learn everything through videos and is very disorganized in class. She never puts grades in the grade book so you never know what your grade is. Overall, the worst professor I have ever had.
Seems as if she wants you to fail to prove she puts in effort and you dont? Acts as a hybrid as class is based off of Youtube videos that she didn't even make and then quizzes almost every lecture on the material. You have to be a super quick learner to be successful in this class or put it 100000x more effort than other classes. Waste of time!
This professor lectures almost solely off of videos on youtube. Gives a quiz almost every class period and almost always runs over class time but does not allow the class to leave. This class required A LOT of work. She is also a super tough grader especially on tests.
She is the worst professor I have ever had. Every class she was 10+ minutes late and then would hold us over 10 minutes... no respect for your time or effort! Basically uses Youtube videos to teach and has crammed half a semesters worth of material into the last two weeks of the semester. Never answers her emails and is not accessible for help.
She is late to class everyday, so then she holds the class after. She teaches the bare minimum and assigns you to learn from videos and another prof who makes videos. She assigns a boat load of homework, and has a pop quiz nearly every class. She grades tests extremely hard and is super picky with your wording and answers. Also super disorganized
Worst professor. Shows up super late to class EVERY DAY, won't let you see your grade until the very end of the semester, unorganized, unclear, tough grader. Never answers emails, randomly doesn't show up to office hours, very bad at explaining things (expects you to just know all the materials).Very confused by the good reviews. Still got an A tho
Agree that she tended to be late, but rarely more than a couple of minutes. Not kept late because usually doing homework as a group For last 15 minutes of class which was great. Doesnt post grades ... gotta keep track Answered every one of my many emails. Organized: we took notes & did examples on daily handouts. Energetic. Loves stats.
I liked her. Watched videos then did worksheets in a booklet. gotta be organized. Pop quizzes usually group open notes. Test questions from worksheets and text. Homework optional. Not hard if follow guidelines
If you know you'll need extra help in Stats, do NOT be fooled by the good reviews!!!! Prof Stephenson's teaching method was horribly confusing if you aren't a fast learner or good at math. Quizzes every class, textbook and videos from different profs, assigns hw like this is your only class. Clearly has a passion for stats but I don't recommend
Absolutely do not choose Professor Stephenson for your STA215 class. She is unorganized, she is not punctual, and she bombards her classes with loads of "optional" homework every week as well as quizzes every class. She relies on videos to help her students understand concepts. Prof Stephenson is a kind woman but DO NOT TAKE HER CLASS!
She is the worst professor I have ever had in my life. DO NOT take her class. She does not care about her students, and she SUCKS at helping you
Daily quizzes with 5 minutes to complete them at best. Often is late to class, and usually goes over. Avoid if math isn't your strong suit or if you aren't organized. You teach yourself the material using a ton of different sources, and she often words questions/expectations poorly. DO ANY AND ALL EXTRA CREDIT - there's a lot and it's grade-saving!
DO NOT TAKE HER FOR ANY CLASS! Randomly calls on students, gets off track, and suggests students drop her class when they ask for help. Tricky quizzes that ask questions like, in the video was it a hamburger or sandwich. Every day there was a quiz. She does offer extra credit which was a current events article worth one point, do the extra credit!
Basically the worst professor I've ever had. She knows statistics well but has no idea how to properly explain the concepts to students. Grades very hard and is very inconsiderate of your time. Asks for feedback but makes no effort to change her methods. If you can avoid taking this class with her, you should!
Stephenson is very hard to understand when teaching, she tends to rush and her familiarity with technology is not too hot. She is a very nice lady and cares about her students, but she gave a quiz every class and expected us to learn all of the material outside of class.
I, along with half of the class, dropped her class within less than 3 weeks of being in it. It's a hybrid classroom so she expects you to teach yourself literally everything and know it enough for a quiz the next day. And I am not just bad at stats, I took it at a community college online and did fine and understood everything.
By far one of my FAVORITE teachers on campus. She is so sweet and so helpful! She is so fun to be around and uses great examples while teaching. She does give you daily quizes to make sure that you are up to speed on HW and the lessons, but they are very easy as long as you do the work and watch her videos. GO TO OFFICE HOURS THEY REALLY HELP!!!
Professor Stephenson was a great professor. I feel she handled the online environment well. She posted weekly checklists with an order in which to complete the tasks to most benefit the student. I always felt that I knew what I should be doing and what was expected of me. She also gave lots of extra credit opportunitie and was always eager to help.
she made me cry. worst professor I've ever met. she makes fun other students and forces the other students to join. I am quite the easy going funny person and not much gets to me but taking her will be the worst decision you will ever make in college. Ive never had anything bad to say about other GVSU profs but this one is terrible.
I dropped this class so fast. She's the hardest grader and has pop quizzes every day. She doesn't care about students at all and lowkey bullies them. If you ask for help, she doesn't give it and just tells you to drop the class. Basically makes you learn all the material from videos. But on the up side sometimes her husband shows up with her dog.
"Oh, well, maybe it'll be different. Maybe I'll like them." NO. NO. NO. Teaches using other ppl's YouTube vids, office hours are useless (just tells you to go rewatch videos), test questions aren't related to HW, never responds to emails timely, and told me to drop class when I needed help, among other things I can't fit. BEWARE THIS PROF
Absolute Horrible teacher, plays videos from 3 years ago for lecture, expects you too teach yourself. Quiz every week over content you didn't learn. Tests are very hard and doesn't give you enough time.
Quite honestly, shes only getting a 2 star because theres extra credit and a checklist of what you need to do. But with that being said, the weekly checklists consist of youtube videos and poor quality videos she makes at home that make basically zero sense. Shes an okay lady, but her ability to teach online is very subpar. Dont risk your time.
Does not accommodate to the needs of her students. As an individual with a health condition that prohibited me from being in class during the COVID pandemic she refused to allow me to make up a quiz that was taken in-seat and was quite rude and uncaring about my condition... Would not recommend... Should not be in a teaching condition...
Professor Stephenson is a person! But as a professor was extremely hard. See expects you to watch and retain all the knowledge from the countless amounts of videos that are posted and then expects you to have a full understanding of the content for the quiz later in the same week. There is also very little leeway in her grading. Avoid this class!
She was a great professor. When it comes to quizzes she let you work in groups and use your notes, so there was no need to panic. Her videos for lecture were older recordings but they did the job. She answered any questions and gave you the help you needed. During test she gave a fair amount of time and even let you stay after to finish.
Her bb page is atrocious to navigate. All assignments given are quizzes. Videos of instruction on class outdated And of terrible quality. No makeups. Extremely harsh at grading. Ive spent weeks studying and she will still mark down the slightest errors. I put more time into this class just to get nothing for grades. Many students also did poorly.
I took this class as a guest student and she was absolutely amazing. Her expectations were clearly outlined each week, lots of textbook problems were listed as practice but it is definitely not necessary to do all of them is you understand the concepts. Lectures were long, but clear and helpful. She was so kind and always willing to help.
Professor Stephenson is really passionate about the subject that she teaches and truly wants all of her students to succeed. Some of the concepts can be tricky especially with having to learn them online but she is always open for questions, and gives you plenty of time to understand the concepts before open note quizzes and tests. Take good notes!
Prof Stephenson was caring, dedicated, and helpful in Stats 215. She lets you use notes for all quizzes, tests, and exams and does a really nice mini-lecture at the beginning of class to make sure you understand the content. We never had to turn in homework which was really nice because I didn't need it most of the time.
She loves stats and you can tell! She is there for her students and wants you to succeed. She offers a lot of extra credit throughout the semester.
She is a great professor, really knows her information and can explain it however you learn best! gives the baseline in class and has office hours every day so it is up to you if you need information restated or whatever that you go to her office hours. I know some thing she is up tight but really its not bad if you do what is asked of you.
She relies heavily on videos that are outdated and she didn't teach a whole lot in class. She has quizzes pretty much every week with a tight time limit but you can use notes. The exams can be tough but you can use your notes too. She's a harsh grader so be meticulous. I would recommend going to office hours and doing the extra credit every week.
My only complaint about how she runs class is how she gives quizzes almost every class (at least once a week) at the very end of class. I am a slow test taker, so it is extremely stressful to take quizzes with only 10 minutes left. You have to come to class or else you'll get a 0 on quizzes. Overall, nice professor. Can use notes, just stressful
I loved Professor Stephenson as a person. Her teaching style, however, was not my favorite. Beware, you WILL have one or two quizzes every week. You cannot recover those quizzes if you miss class. She also uses the "flipped" classroom format, where students learn the material at home and participate in class exercises. It can be tough.
This was the worst class I have taken at GV so far. She is very meticulous and harsh when it comes to grading and everything is taught on your own time outside of class. There are quizzes every week and the questions are worded v confusingly. I would like to say I understand the material of the class, but with her grading style it is impossible.
One of the worst classes I've taken at GV. There is so much work to do, 80% of my week is spent watching her assigned videos outside of class. There are quizzes almost every single class and they are worded so confusingly. If you don't watch the hours and hours of videos before the class period you will not pass the quizzes. 0/5. Get another prof.
Professor Stephenson is a very nice person, but her class is awful. Her blackboard website is not user-friendly at all. It is actually so confusing that she gives a quiz on how to navigate it instead of just making it easier to use. There are pop quizzes almost every week on material that you have to teach to yourself outside of class.
Worst Professor I have ever had. Avoid taking her class if possible. I spent at least 15 hours a week on her class alone and ended up with the worst grade I have ever gotten in a course. She also gives pop quizzes with 5 minutes or less of class time left and makes Students stay after frequently.
The worst professor I've had at GV. You basically have to teach yourself the math, she's really no help at all. I don't know how she is still employed, she should look at other job professions. DO NOT take this class with her at all costs.
I took her thinking that others experiences were a little over exaggerated and was SO wrong. This class was the hardest course I've taken in my college career and I highly suggest finding someone new for a professor.
I'm not sure what all the bad ratings are for, Prof Stephenson was my favorite and the only reason I succeeded in the course. She truly cares about all students, is constantly available and more than willing to help. It is a flipped class style but explanations are clear and she is more than willing to offer alternate explanations. 100% recommend
Professor Stephenson was amazing! People mentioned pop quizzes but every quiz and test was on a detailed schedule from the beginning and all were open note. All bookwork was optional and never turned in but notes were all videos watched outside class with further explanations in class. If you ask for help it is hard not to succeed in her class.
This was one of the worst professor I have ever had in my college career. You must learn the content outside of class through numerous videos. Also, you will be quizzed every week on the content you are supposed to learn by yourself. She isn't very helpful when you have questions and by asking them could cost you points. I do not recommend!!!!!!!!!
Does not teach during class, very difficult to pick up any of the material when we have to teach ourselves, expected to be ready for quizzes each class period.
She makes you do online lectures every week but also requires attendance. Gives AT LEAST 1 quiz every week. Almost everyone failed the midterm but she continued to say it was our fault and wouldnt tell us the class average. If you ever have a class with her, Im so sorry in advance.
Worst prof I have had at GV. She doesnt teach and only post videos online and then rambles about random stuff for an hour in person. She makes you have a lot of outside work and none of it was beneficial. I did not learn a thing.
One of the worst professors I have had. I specifically took her course because it was an in person course and that is the way I learn best, especially with math. However, weekly I was asked to watch 8+ videos as my lecture online by myself and then I was to be quizzed on it when I went to class. Bad at explaining. Extremely unfair. Confusing. Run.
Professor Stephenson was not the best professor; however, she was nice and cared about her students. This class had lots of homework, and her tests were very difficult, so managing your time is important. Her lectures were a bit confusing, but she gives out extra credit and if you read the textbook and study hard, you will do fine in this class.
She was a nice person but a bad prof. She is a hard grader and does not teach in a meaningful way. She is using other prof's videos for lectures. The class ran 15-30 min over time almost daily.
She was the nicest person ever, but her teaching was not good. I felt like I was teaching it to myself. She made the tests WAY harder than they needed to be. Everything was just very difficult and there was so much information. We had a quiz every day and was expected to watch videos to teach ourselves. She's nice but extremely difficult.
Prof Stephenson was very nice, but she does not know how to teach or run her class. Lectures took place outside of class on your own time and she did not grade any homework so the course was based almost all on quizzes and tests. Tests were extremely hard and she did little to help when questions were asked. DO NOT take this class unless necessary.
She is the worst professor I have ever had. Listen to the reviews and do not take her. She does not teach, you rely on videos from a different professor outside of class to teach yourself. Then, when you go to class you take a pop quiz. Her exams are impossible because she takes points off for everything, even if your final answer is correct. Run.
Please do not take this professor. She gave out horribly difficult exams and they were not like the homework at all. She would ask questions on the exams that we had not studied and was some random little fact that we would not have known. The quizzes were taken right after the lecture and it was hard to learn the material so fast and be quizzed.
Pros: -extremely rewarding class. Super helpful knowledge -professor is understanding, kind, and funny. Cares if you do -Great for Online-lovers. Vids r gr8 Cons: -You have to go to every class and do all the homework to pass -Homework usually took me 10 hours (over 2 days) -Doesn't answer email very quick -Exams are most of grade/ not enough time
Not a fan. I am a very fast learner and usually don't need much support, but having no support unless going to office hours made this class very difficult. Most of the work was spent online watching videos (half of them were subtitled only because the voiceover was quiet) and grades came from quizzes, exams, and EC. Pointless lectures. avoid her
She is very nice and walks through literally everything the students need to know in class. As long as you do the assigned work, and take the time to understand and learn the content, you will do well in the class. Lecture is more of a time to confirm whether or not students understand the material. She also has a lot of availability outside class.
Nice person but bad teacher. You learn everything at home via videos then you're quizzed every week. Marks you down for tiny things, but does give a lot of EC. Asks pointless questions on quizzes like "what brand of batteries was used in this example in this video?" Lectures feel pointless and unorganized. Terrible bb organization too.
This professor has no idea about how to teach math. By attending classes I was not even sure what I was suppose to be understanding as the homework and lecture for the same lesson usually did not always match up. Overall a super confusing teacher and I would not recommend taking this class unless you want to waste your money and fail.
Professor Stephenson is an amazing and caring professor. She is a tough grader but that's just because this is a tough class. If you put in the effort necessary, you can get an A and she is willing to help you get that but you really have to take a lot of responsibility in this class. If you skip class you will def miss a lot.
Professor Stephenson is a fair grader and sets clear expectations. That being said, all learning is expected to be done outside of class, and class time is devoted to practice problems and quizzes. This course requires a substantial amount of time spent outside of class to succeed. Her exams are difficult, and are worth over 50% of your grade.
DO NOT TAKE PROF STEPHENSON!! I got an A in my AP stats class in high school, but practically failed this class. Professor Stephenson will skip around to new topics before anyone understood previous topics. At the beginning of this class there were 30ish people, and by the end of the semester eight of us were left and nobody was passing over a 65%.
She walks through everything with you and gives resources. Though all of her exams do not apply to the material given.
DONT TAKE HER CLASS. I got a c in this class and usually an all A and B student. Her material is hard and her test are nothing like the problems we practice in class. Makes this class way harder than it needs to be, I took it again with another prof and got an A.
Avoid avoid avoid. Terrible organization of blackboard, makes you stay after designated class period every time, pop up quizzes, lectures unrelated to tests, overall- bad.
One of the worst professors I've had at grand valley, she's one of those teachers who makes things more complicated than necessary. It's like she forgets that her job is to teach us, not make herself feel smart. Unclear, unorganized, and all around difficult would be perfect adjectives to describe this professor. Very frustrating DO NOT takewithher
Nice Lady, but not good at teaching and grades way too harsh. I would avoid having her if you can
Stephenson does care about the education of students but could be using class time better. Learning is done outside of class and only goes over worksheets. Lots of pop quizzes which you cannot make up if you miss class. Lots of extra credit. Goes over scheduled class time, also very disorganized. Wouldn't recommend if you don't understand quickly.
Professor Stephenson cares about her students doing well, and is a nice lady but her teaching is very fast and sporadic. She talks SO FAST where you can't keep up, always goes over class time, and sometimes you have to stay 15 mins after to finish quizzes. You also have to watch lots of videos outside of class, sometimes over an hour.
Patricia showed so much kindness and enthusiasm for a class that otherwise could have been really dry and boring. The class had tons of resources and the professor was very available to give extra help during office hours. Patricia was respectful to student questions and always made sure we knew where important stuff was on blackboard.
Nice lady but she gave homework and never checked it- you couldn't tell if you were on track with learning. Rushed every class & quiz so had no time to think. We learned by watching videos from a different professor. I was failing when I dropped but re-took with a different professor and got a B.
Professor Stephenson is so caring and kind. She does care about all of her students. Very fast talker. She does assign a lot of homework and outside videos. Could do better with time management surrounding quizzes. Many of her tests and quizzes have problems from the textbook or in-class material. Easily accessible for extra help. LOTS of EC!
If you follow all of the objectives posted for weekly content as prep for the lecture you're golden. She just jumps into the material in lecture so it's important to already have some knowledge and practice. Tough grader. The homework is kinda just extra credit and meant for study, however she does use many of those problems on exams.
Professor Stephenson's class is tough, but Unstuckstudy helped me ace the exams. Her lectures move fast, so you gotta do the prep work. If you put in the effort, you can get an A despite the harsh grading.
It's pretty evident that this professor fakes reviews on here. You can tell by the language and the stark contrast in ratings. For actual students who use this website to gauge their potential for success with a certain professor, it's a shame she resorts to leaving fake positive reviews. Do not take a course with this professor.
she's nice but does not teach well, takes too much class time reminding us of stuff we need to do and does not teach. Has guided notes but doesn't use them and i guess we have to watch the videos to fill them out and that doesn't help either. a quiz almost every week. takes points off for dumb reasons such as not labeling something. Lots of EC
Terrible professor imo, you basically need to teach yourself. She does not grade the homework or have any in class assignments, everything thats graded are quiz's and test's so theres nothing to "cushion" your grade. I've set up meetings with her that she shows up to 30 minutes late with no warning until the time of our meeting.
Prof Stephenson is good, if you do the notes and homework you will do just fine. We have weekly quizzes and I find they help a lot she even lets us use notes on EVERY quiz or group quizzes. We only have 2 big exams and then the final and we are allowed a hand written note sheet, size of notebook paper front& back. Good Professor.
I enjoyed taking this course with Professor Stephenson. It is very heavy on online lecture videos but if you do the guided notes and come to classes for quizzes there is no reason you won't do well in the class. Quizzes and exams are very fair and Professor Stephenson clearly wants what's best for her students.
She is a very understanding and respectful professor. She likes what she does, and she is more than happy to meet with you outside of class. She does grade attendance; however, she lets you join another one of her classes at a different time if you need to on some days. There is a lot of online videos and work at home, though.
Her tests were in my opinion impossible to study for! I maintained a B the entire semester though extra credit, quizs, and making 2 sided cheat sheets for the two tests we had however even with that the final exam killed me (T/F, MC, fill in the blank, and free response). Also Black board was so confusing, not worth your time taking her class AVOID
Don't take her! I never write prof reviews so thats how you know. She really doesn't care if you pass or fail. SO much homework. Extremely harsh grader. You have to print up most of your homework on your own. She takes off points if you take longer than she wants you to to finish a quiz/test. Incredibly rushed, yet somehow goes over the class time.
I don't think the overall rating is accurate! she was a good teacher and wants to get to know you and always help out. Even though she speeds through things and can be kind of all over the place, she is very appreciative of questions. She gives lots of extra credit and lets you use notes for quizzes and a cheat sheet for tests and exams.
I actually don't understand how this professor is rated so low. All you have to do is watch the 5 minute videos beforehand and everything will make sense in class. Gives LOTS of extra credit opportunities for students. I watched many low grade students just straight up not do the easy extra credit and struggle which was insane.
this professor is all over the place she can not stay on topic she always is talking about something random. She also gives quizzes almost every class period. Attendance is mandatory. Her blackboard is so confusing and there is always so much homework, the only good thing is she gives a lot of extra credit. I don't recommend this prof.
There is way too much homeowork. There is quizzes every single class period. She grades really difficult. She would give us ten videos after each class to go through and learn the concepts, and then she would take the credit for us learning the concepts off a different professor. She didnt actually teach us anything herself.
Take this prof if you want to spend hours teaching yourself concepts that she is supposed to teach. She takes off .5 point for each extra minute you spend on an assignment then she wanted you to, if I remember correctly. I think GV has really good professors, but this one absolutely ruined my experience with statistics.
This professor ruined math for me as a whole. She means well and seems caring. Although those may be true, she should not be allowed to teach statistics. Her way of teaching is a "flipped classroom," which means she barely teaches anything in class or half of the current content. And then expects you to figure out the rest at home. Wouldn't Take
It is actually surprising to me how many people struggle with this class. Professor Stephenson gives extra credit out like candy just by raising your hand in class. If you show up and even attempt to take notes you'll be absolutely fine. You get cheat sheets on every exam so it's basically impossible to fail yet somehow people still struggle lol
I would recommend NOT taking her if you want to pass stats. She assigns a quiz every week after cramming it in the last minute in the lecture. She gives so much homework and does not care that you have other classes. If you ask her a question she will either tell you "you should know how to do it" or she will just make you feel dumb for asking it.
She is very disorganized. She made us watch lecture videos from a different professor on our own time, and also gave out pop quizzes. Tests were difficult, even with a cheat sheet. No real study guide for the tests. Taking a different professor now, who is good and organized.
Awful, save yourself the time effort, and irritation, she contradicts her own statements, will tell you in class the way she explains things is different then what's on the test, legit aren't able to leave even for the bathroom, and talks about so much nonsense she never finishes her lectures but expects you to go home and figure it out yourself.
Great person, but the class was wayyyyy too hard for a gen ed. I don't recommend taking it unless you want to be confused and all over the place and want 20 hours of homework a week just for stats.
Don't ever take this prof you will regret it every class you go to your gonna have a quiz doesn't teach at all have to learn everything by ur self takes points off for every little thing every study guide you have doesn't help you go to class for no reason you have to print everything on ur own doesn't care if you pass or fail doesn't care to help
makes you watch videos of other prof doesn't teach at all doesn't care if you miss class ur gonna fail don't take this class every class you have a quiz on stuff you never learned or stuff she teaches after the quiz takes points off everything don't take this class save you the time and money DON'T TAKE THIS CLASS!!!!
She was amazing. She explains everything well and if not, she re explains it or gives extra credit on quiz/test if she sees that everyone is struggling. There are quizzes basically every time but you can use your notes which has the answers and/or work with a group. There are videos w/notes but you use it for the quiz. I would recommend take her.
This lady wants to see students fail, nice lady but not nice teacher.
Quizzes are open note, and she gives out extra credit all of the time. For each test we got a cheat sheet and many practice problems to help us study. She has poor time management, which is why we had assigned videos to teach ourselves the material she didn't get to. She frequently gave quizzes based on the homework.
She's not hard at all. Honestly, these people think stats is a blow-off class, which sadly it isn't. She allows u to bring notes on the quizzes and on the exams. Also has extra credit for the quizzes if u just do the homework. it doesn't even need to be right. Shes not the nicest but her class is not set up for u to fail but honestly help u alot.
