Professor Toohey was incredible for statistics. I was a horrible math student, yet I aced her class. She is so helpful, but don't get on her bad side when she is in a bad mood :)

Very helpful and will teach you how to do the math problems step-by-step; gives you a study guide with answers right before an exam, but we didn't get one for the first two exams. However,she's picky about how you write your answers;strict personality

She is a GREAT teacher, I have her for statistics and she gives you the the problems and solutions step by step. She is very thurough and is always walking around to help.

This professor was clear, taught you the problems step-by-step, but I felt she was too demanding.

AMAZING TEACHER, if you are willing to study for tests. She it tough, but fair. No surprises or trick questions on tests....Not too funny, but a nice lady....

Very straight-forward when teaching math problems, but usually teaches you problems a couple of times,ask the class if you got the answer and no matter what you get,she'll move on to the next lesson; had an assistant in class to help if you had problem w/your calculator or got stuck somewhere, but that made it hard to keep up with the class pace.

She is very helpful OUTSIDE of class, always open to meet with you if you have a ?, fairly easy but you need to do the work,,,,its Math

she explains so good and clear that if u dont pass a test is because u dont do homework or study a lil by yourselves

very frim italian lady. dont ask stupid questions or she'll eat you alive. Its math so you have to do alot of studying. Other than her being alittle snappy she teaches effectively and droped like 3 low test scores wich is the only reason i passed. make sure you do homework and study cause she likes to sometimes pull out the hard questions on tests.

Mrs Toohey is a wonderful teacher! If you don't study, and get a bad grade than don't blame her. She is VERY helpful outside of class. VERY organized and presents the notes VERY well. I dont understand the bad ratings on here. She is the best math teacher that I have ever Had!!!

amazing teacher, explains everything in detail, and her notes are very helpful. There is no room for slackers in her class, you HAVE 2 study and pay attention to her lectures to pass. She explains problems to the best of her knowledge. I reccommend her to anyone who struggles in math. She is kinda mean but she got a good heart. very smart lady

Felt a little overwhelmed at first, but once I got used to her fast pace was doing well in class. This class is definitely not an easy class. If you work hard, come to class, and pay attention you will do fine. You either love her humor or not. Ask a question and be prepared to get an answer you may not like. Better off with the TA.

she is a fascinating teacher, i came in the class thinking i was going to do poorly again but she made me feel so much more at ease with the subject. if she continues her helpful teaching, she will help you a lot! i would reccomend her to math lovers and haters alike!

She is defenitly the best teacher out there.. i have recommended her to all my freinds! grades r only based on 5 tests, n she drops the lower score! Mrs Toohey has great teacher strategies. I hate math, but there was never a time i was confused on the material! she speaks clear and makes sures u understand it! TAKE HER! SHES THE BEST TEACHER

Calc 1. If you don't have a stong background in any of her courses, go to the SI. Be careful what questions you ask in class. If you aren't doing well don't expect help during class. If you skip class and ask questions this will piss her off and she'll let you know.

shes a really nice person, and a very smart lady. DO NOT take her class if you have a hard time with math. she is more then willing to take time off and explain everything to you in alone time. she doesnt answer many questions in class. but seriously dont take her class if you are a bad math student! i had to withdrawl from her class.

She really cares and knows how to teach...do your homework and you will be fine!

If you ask a stupid question she will treat you like you're stupid. If you do the work she's extremely helpful and will go out of her way to help you.

Great Professor. Very clear on her teachings, just make sure you are always in class so you can get the notes down and the different ways to solve problems.

She's a good professor. Her lectures and notes are very clear and it's easy to learn the material. Just make sure you do the hw so you can do well in the tests(eventhough she never collects hw). She is a tough grader and takes off many points if things are not exactly how she wants it. She is also willing to help and answer questions.

Very good teacher. If you want to do well you MUST go to the classes to take the notes!! Shes very nice although like everyone said she does have slick comments every once in awhile so dont be surprised. She overall was a great teacher. I got a C in college algebra and ended up with an A in Stats. I def recommend her!

if you fail stats with her you are a retard who probably isn't serious about college. she is an Exceptional teacher. go to class, go to her office if you need any help. she is very willing to help those who are interested. i got an A in the class. Yes she does have cut throat sense of humor. must go to class!!

Took her for college algebra HATE MATH, and got an A. She is awesome. Just sit back and listen to everything that she says, you will be amazed by how much you learn.

Super great teacher. Awesome class. She breaks down and goes through every step. All you have to do is shut up and listen. If you over analyze you won't get it. Follow HER ways and you cant go wrong. Im not even good in math but taking Stats with her was a pleasure, I expect an A. Don't ever miss class and go to SI. SI REALLY HELPS! ALOT!!

I am taking this teacher no and she teahes very well. If you do not have a great background in math she breaks everything down. she even gives you a si instrutor to clearify anything you have before tests come and during the class. I never used him but he is very very knowledgeable. The class average is a B..thats all i need to say!

if you are decent in math take her she striaght to the point and my be slik out the mounth at times but she is a really good teacher. and plz go to the SI meetings its really really worth it.

She's a very good teacher. She teaches you everything you need to know in class. Come to every class, pay attention, study, and you will pass. No homework, just tests. And a SI instructor who is very helpful!

A great teacher, I wish I had put more time into it because she really is a great teacher. You have to eat sleep and breath that class to pass it.

Prof Toohey is an awesome professor. I have her for college algebra and she is awesome. I didn't take intermediate but I am still doing well because of her awesome teaching skills. She really is worth taking if you aren't so great at math. SI helps too! Don't listen to anyone who thinks different! She's great!

I don't get why people are giving her bad reviews. She goes slow and teaches really clearly. Maybe they reviewed her badly because she doesn't like kids who try and skate by...... Do the HW and her Reviews and you'll get an A. Easily.

Sit down, shut up and LISTEN. Not an easy course, but if you listen to exactly what she says, you should do well. Perfect instructor & SI combo. Put the time in and you can get an "A" in this course. Do exactly what she says... it works. Listen to her experience. Study, study, and study. The test don't hurt that bad.

mrs. toohey is great. dont give her a hard time and she wont give you one. do homework and get an A. I'm an SI teacher for her, that helps too.

I didn't like her teaching style at all, a nice person but made the class alot harder. Would never want to take a class with her again, having said all this I didn't try as hard as I should have. Calculus is not hard but the algerbra is and she expects everyone to know it as though they were experts. Again, nice person but would avoid if possible.

I took her for college algebra and it was SO difficult because she expects you to know basic algebra already so she can teach to people who are geared towards medical and higher level math classes.Study hard, do ALL the homework, and go to class. If you're not great at math, find another professor.

shes a good professor but sometimes has an attitude problem.uses the textbook everyday. her tests are like the homework but she likes to change up the formulas for problems so watch out for that. study hard and youll get a good grade, i am so bad at math and i ended with a b+

Terrible teacher, You probably won't get over a C unless you study every single problem in book, anndd are an algebra expert. She teaches the class as if you've seen the material before. She expects because took Algebra you know every possible trick that other mathematicians could remember

All of the kids that give Toohey bad reviews are the kids that don't always go to class, never go to SI meetings, and don't do all of their homework. She doesn't clarify things in class always, but that's why she has an SI, she tells him what to teach you and Gary is a good SI. She is not a teacher that babies you. Take her if you want to succeed

I took her for trig, calc 1 and calc 2. She has perfected teaching almost to a science. Her notes are online and more importantly you can work ahead. In her class, its what you put in is what you get out. Im now going for a math at FAU because of her.

Her class is hard, but she teaches the material very well. Hands down, best teacher I've ever had.

I don't know why some says badly of her. She goes over all the stuff will appear on exam. Exams are not really hard. Some whine her lecture is so quick but thats something she can't do for you: we must finish the chps! She was sometimes quite funny and mostly ended the class early and I do not have any complaint of her. GOOD teacher.

One of the toughest professors I've had but the BEST!Nothing in life comes easy so why would we expect a class to be easy? She is strict especially in grading exams..BEST PROFESSOR EVER! I was not fond of STATS prior to her class but now that I look back, I'm glad I took her class. I studied alot, it's neccessary and well worth it. TAKE HER CLASS!

Awesome professor, rare to find teachers like her still in existence. Traditional methods of teaching. Does not believe in grading homework which I appreciate. Stats became relevant after her class. 6 exams, drops lowest grade at the end. Math enthusiast and has a good sense of humor, I thought she was funny.

She is wonderful! If you just listen to her, study, and show up to class everyday, you'll be fine. She is so organized and really enjoys teaching. She's a sweetheart and wants everyone to understand Statistics thoroughly. Do practice problems and do it her way because you can't go wrong! "fasten your seatbelt" as she always says. :)

She is the best...she is so funny and smart and her class is extremely enjoyable. She really is concerned that we learn and understand. I am absolutely HORRIBLE with math, yet, I enjoy her class so much. You have to work for it and go to the SI, but it's so worth it. She's fabulous, take her!! I honestly have no complaints! Best class I ever took.

Professor Toohey is amazing. She truly wants you to do well in the class and clearly puts a lot of time and planning into her lessons. This is not an easy A and you have to do your homework and study if you want to do well, but she grades very fairly and gives partial credit where it is deserved. If you want to learn Calculus, take Professor Toohey

Toohey is great math teacher but treats the class like they are in elementary school. She yells at you if you go to the bathroom or come in 5 minutes late. She thinks she is funny but she really isnt. All that aside, she teaches math great whether you are good or bad at it. I really do reccomend her class but be prepared to be treated like a child.

I still dont understand y people keep saying badly of her. She covers everything in class and is very nice. Do the homework problems in the book! Then u should be fine. Using your SI will also help u too.

Pay attention in class and you have to work in this class there is no other way. Have to do all your homework and actually participate. She is a fair grader and teacher but you have to earn your grade. Taking her again for Calc 2.

She is VERY knowledgeable about math, she can answer any one of your questions. She gives tough exams but they're doable if you put in the time to study. Very good professor, I would definitely recommend her to anybody who wants to learn math from a real pro

This is a hard class. BUT SHE IS SO GOOD AT TEACHING SHE MAKES IT EASY! Go to class prepared, take notes and listen, study for the tests (everything she says is on there, is on there) and theres NO WAY you wont pass with B minimum. Take her.

Best math teacher I've had. She loves what she does so learning is fun. Listen to her rules. All the notes are online. If you do the homework you're golden. She's not an easy A but if you work it pays off. She's extremely clear and once you're used to her pace it gets easier.

This professor is really easy. I had her twice in the same semester (college algebra & trig). If you want an A in her class, DO NOT DO THE HW. It literally contradicts what she teaches. If you want an A in her class and want to do good on the tests, just study from the notes and you'll be fine. I promise.

Her lectures are very clear and notes are online. The book is mandatory or you won't pass. Very tough tests and very tough grading on those tests. No extra credit and no curving at all.

Generally good at Calc. I thought this class would be no problem I was WRONG! She is in all fairness a good teacher by teaching in a tough manner and making you think on your own. BUT she is way too TOUGH with grading. Be ready to lose many unnecessary points. I hope she changes her grading system. good luck.

I wouldn't suggest her if math isn't your best subject. If you know your stuff and once you get use to her learning style the class is cake. She tells you what is going to be on the exams look over her notes and do some practice in the txtbook & you'll be okay. a scientific calculator is fine for the course. BE ON TIME FOR EXAMS
