She is the best professor anyone can ever have. I take her night class, and I thought 3 hours with someone would be boring. It's not. If you're a SPED major you should take it with her. She is very caring and understanding. Best teacher i've ever had!
The best teacher, I definately recommend her!!!

Well, let's go!!!! I liked this teacher. She was very helpful and understanding and class was fun!
One of the best professors on campus and one of the best I've ever had! You'll enjoy going to her class everyday....if you are having a miserable day, she will brighten it up with her cheery personality....honestly I don't think she ever gets angry.....just a great teacher who knows how to help and relate to students....take this class with her!
One of the best professors out there. I actually look forward to going to class. She always has a smile on her face and you can tell she enjoys what she does. She has made an impact on my education and makes me want to excel in the field of Special Ed. Highly recommend taking her any chance you get!! I love hearing the amazing stories she shares.
Patty is an amazing person in general!!! she is a great professor and she makes each one of her students feel special!! i will be a better teacher because of her!!! definately recommended!!!
Patty is an amazing teacher, she makes every student feel special. She is always happy and helpful to students. overall an amazing class and prof.
EASIEST CLASS EVVER! If you do not get an A, you should transfer to Rasmussen College:(
Patty is a wonderful person. She emails back in a timely matter, with helpful and possitive responses. Take her you won't regret it.
She is an awesome professor. She is also my advisor, and she is so helpful. Take this class from her.
Patty's expectations were clear and concise. She was very helpful when questions arised. Treats students equally.
Patty is the best prof I have ever had
Awesome. She is the most upbeat person I have ever met. She is constantly smiling. She is the perfect model for teachers-to-be. Definitely take SPED 203 with her. It'll be a breeze, and she'll keep you entertained. The fact that there were take-home quizzes and no tests didn't hurt either.
I would recommend taking any class Patty has to offer!! She is the best!!
She is GREAT! Always in a great mood and shares many interesting stories from her personal experiences. She is a great PERSON, not to mention a wonderful teacher. I loved the class and always looked forward to it!!
What an awesome lady! I have nothing bad to say about Patty, probably best professor at St. Cloud. Class is stress free and always a positive environment. Patty's stories are interesting and touching. If you have the chance to have Patty, go for it, you wont regret it!
Amazing professor! This class is very easy, only take home quizzes and a couple 2-3 page reflection papers. She is very nice and very helpful. Just hope you don't get called on when you learn about dyslexia!!!
Patty is an amazing teacher. She's the whole reason why I got into my major.
Patty is wonderful! Her main goal in teaching is to help her students succeed. She is so helpful and happy, her classroom is a great place! I'm pretty sure you have to try not to get an A too, so that helps!
I loved Patty!! She is such a sweet and caring person, I love her to death! Sped 203 was a very easy class. All the quizzes were take home and the papers were very easy. She's an easy grader and it would be hard to NOT get an A in her class...Seriously take a class with her!!
Patty is hands down the best professor I have had at state. She truly cares about each one of her students. Her lectures are clear and precise. She has special stories to share from her personal experiences that make one eager to attend her classes. I highly recommend her if you want the best professor at St. Cloud.
Patricia Waletzko is absolutely to best professor I have ever had. She is very interesting to listen to in class, is very clear when it comes to assignments/quizzes, and you actually learn in this class and the information is extremely usefull. If you can take her class, DO IT!
I loved Patty as a Professor. She seriously is so helpful, nice and inspiring. She knows her material and doesn't rely on the textbook at all which is nice. She does a lot of video clips, music clips, youtube, etc. I loved her class and wish I could take mroe classes with her!
Patty is an amazing teacher! It is not hard to get an A, but her lectures are so amazing that you look forward to her class each day you have it. Her class is an absolute must-take for all education majors!
Patty is very friendly and easy to listen too! She loves to share stories with the class, as well as quotes. Overall a very very good professor! 100% recommend her!
Such a sweet lady who truly loves to teach! If you don't get an A in this class, something is wrong. Fifteen online quizzes, a few opinion papers throughout the semester, and one 20 hour service learning project. I learned so much in this class and loved listening to Patty's lectures.
Patty Waletzko is, without any question, the best professor I've had yet. She is such an inspirational person. I took her night class that was 2 hours & 45 minutes long, but even with a class so long, I truly enjoyed being there each week. If the opportunity comes to you to take her class, do not hesitate. Get to know Patty - you won't regret it.
Best teacher ever!!!
Best class I have taken! She is the nicest professor I have had at SCSU. All test are online, unlimited time and you can use your book and notes. She is very understanding. You do have to do a service learning project, which is 20 hours, but super easy! Than at the end of the semester you present it to the class! I loved her! Take this class!
Wonderful class
She is a wonderful human being. Quizzes are online and super easy. Class is only once a week and I only go because attendance is mandatory. Doesn't really correlate with the lectures, but her attitude makes it worth it. If you don't get an A, you had to try.
Amazing person. 15, 25 point Quizzes and 3, 1 page papers about the semester very easy on worth 25 points. 150 points for attendance. 100 points for a service learning project. 18 to 20 hours volunteering somewhere with children. Would take this course over and over if I could.
My FAVORITE teacher at SCSU. Patty is a saint when it comes to college professors. Truly cares about the student whether they are a SPED major or not. Offers advising to any student looking for it. I have taken other classes with Patty just to have her as a teacher.
Patty is a great professor. She tells touching stories that change peoples lives and they way they think of people with disabilities. She is the reason I changed my major to Special Education. Quizzes are easy and only 3 short papers throughout. Would recommend!
She is AMAZING, best prof I have ever had. She is always available for questions or if you need anything. She inspired me to change my major and I am So happy I did it! Take her class!! You will not regret it!
I loved this class. Patti is the perfect teacher. She tells you exactly what you are doing that class. you know the first day of class when all of your tests are and when you need to have them done by. half of the answers are on Quizlet but you should still have the book because some of them are not online.
The class itself isn't all that interesting but Patty is so nice and tells the best stories. Lectures can get boring but her personal stories teach you a lot, she also requires 20 hours of service learning and a presentation at the end of the semester but the presentation isn't very formal and not long at all!
Patty's class is great! Although I may have found class to be a tad long and boring at times, overall it was a great class. Patty is extremely nice and approachable. Attendance points are given each class. Online Quizzes, 3 short papers, 20 hour service learning project which also includes a short paper & short presentation. Take class with Patty!
I absolutely LOVED my class with Patty! She is a wonderful teacher who is there to help everyone achieve their goal. SPED 203 was such an easy class to pass with her. Everything was online and it was very simple. Patty usually gives 100% on all papers. She loves that you try. Highly recommend!
Professor Waletzko is a wonderful woman who is very knowledgeable about Special Education. If you have the opportunity to learn from her, take it. The quizzes are the most challenging part, but they're online and you use your textbook. You have to do a volunteer service project for this class, and she gives you a lot of connections to work with.
Patty is an amazing teacher and is very welcoming and kind to everyone. Will help you as long as you ask her for it! Make sure you read the book to help with quizzes because class doesn't cover anything in the tests. You'll get out of class early a lot and she does fun activities. Sign in every day. Quizzes can be found on Quizlet most of the time.
Love Patty. She's very knowledgeable and her love of education is obvious. It is easy to do well if you make an effort - show up, do the Service Learning Project, put a little effort into the reflective papers. The only negative is the quizzes. They are from a bank of Pearson questions (horrible questions!) but she pads the points.
Patty is a wonderful professor. She is also my Adviser for the special ed major!! She really cares a lot about education and her role in others lives. Her stories are so touching and you leave class wanting to know more! She has you do a very fun service project where you can get out into the community and work with some people with disabilities!
Amazing and caring professor
Best professor I've ever had at SCSU
Nicest professor I've ever had
Patty is by far one of my most favorite teachers! She cares so much about all of her students, and would do anything for you! A lot of what she teaches is personal experiences of hers which gives you great insight into how you can make a difference in the lives of those with exceptionalities! Would recommend this class to anyone!
Patty is the reason I am going into SPED, she is one of the nicest people I've met. Wish she could teach every class at SCSU.
She's great
Patty is very passionate about her students and content. I would recommend this class to any and all majors.
Loved Patty! She is very kind, caring and inspirational. She made everyone feel appreciated and welcomed in class. She gladly accepted comments and questions during lecture and was always available outside of class for questions. The homework load was light & no tests. I feel as though I learned a lot about special education from taking this class
Patty is amazing! She truly loves what she does and shows it each class period. You will be reading the textbook a lot. Make sure you know due dates because late work is not accepted. This class is incredible, and the stories Patty tells you will inspire you to make a change the world. You will not regret taking this class with her!
Highly recommend! Patty is very inspirational and really cares about students. There are online quizzes throughout the course that are not very difficult and a 20 hour service project that she gives you many choices and is very flexible with what you want to do. You have to give about a 5 minute presentation on it. Great professor!
She was great! I loved her and I know you will too!
The only two things she grades are tests, the answers are online and community service projects. The only challenge is remembering the dates for all the tests.
Patty is truly amazing. She will inspire you each and everyday. Very very easy class! Some days i just liked going because it was a stress reliever. Amazing person :)
she is the best professor i ever had. would have taken her again and again
Patty is such a kind soul. She wants everyone to do their best and makes you feel very appreciated when you come to class, finish an assignment, etc. She truly loves what she does. No exams, only quizzes on D2L and all the answers are in the book and online, a few papers, and a final 5 minute presentation on your service learning project.
I didn't expect to learn so much from a professor. I'm a graduate student, and I thought I knew a lot about special education before this class. There was a lot I learned that I didn't know beforehand. She gives excellent feedback. She seems to care about her students. I recommend her.
Patty is the sweetest professor I've ever had. Truly cares about SPED. Her lectures are heavy, but I think it's worth listening to because she gives us her personal perspective which makes it easier to understand the material. All the test are online, super easy if you are smart about it, attendance points will affect your grade.
I absolutely loved SPED with Patty! It was one of my favorite classes and I always looked forward to it. She is very understanding and easy to talk to. She even helped me with a project I had for another class. She keeps class interesting and keeps students involved.
She is so sweet, very inspiring for someone like me going into teaching. She truly cares about her students. Loved her class, didn't mind getting up to go to it.
Have to go to class, but she makes class enjoyable. Be prepared for lots of fun stories. She doesn't give out homework, and there are 2 short essays to write, both very up to interpretation. A service project is required but very easy to fulfill. All quizzes are online.
I did enjoy Patty's class, but I did not learn as much as I had hoped too. All quizzes are online so you never really need to do readings or studying in anyway. Do not skip her class and there are two essays that are pretty simple/
Best teacher I have ever had, shes super understanding and very sweet
Patty really cares about her students. She makes every class enjoyable by bringing real-world experiences into her lecture. She grades strictly off of points and you get attendance points so show up for class.
Patty is the most amazing professor I've ever had. She is absolutely phenomenal and I want to be exactly like her. She is so passionate, caring, and loving. Patty is always there for you no matter if it has to do with school or life itself. She is perfect! Easy homework and all of the test Q&A's are on Quizlet, so that's helpful.
Very kind and caring, and clearly cares about what she teaches and her students. Gives consistent homework in online quizzes. Is willing to compromise with students for special projects. Makes long night classes seem short and very entertaining. As long as you don't forget about the weekly quizzes (like I did), it's a very doable class.
BEST TEACHER!
Clear grading opportunities. I looked forward to this class. She cares so deeply about her students and was the teacher to help me pursue my SPED minor.
Mrs. Waletzko is one of the nicest teacher here at SCSU. She really cares about you and wants you to succeed. Her lectures are clear and you can tell she has a lot of passion for education. The class consisted of 2 small papers, quizzes, and a volunteer project/presentation (don't worry she has some volunteer opportunities available for you).
Patty is one of my favorite professors I've ever had at SCSU. Her lectures are amazing and she really cares a lot about her students. She gives out some quizzes, papers, and a project in her class. She is also very easy to reach outside of class, but just set up a meeting beforehand!
Patty is one of the best professors I have ever had. She is so sweet and caring. Class and quizzes are easy, but I still learned a lot. She has such a great view of what it is like in the sped field and she brings all of that knowledge to the classroom. She truly wants all of her students to become successful educators.
My class was asynchronous so I never met her personally, but she would always respond fast to my emails, always willing to help me, and had a clear schedule of what is needed. She was passionate about what she was teaching and she was always willing to go above and beyond to make sure her students did well. She was so caring and understanding.
Replied to emails quickly and was super helpful with any questions. Class consisted of a test on each chapter of the text (would highly recommend reading) along with a few reflective papers, and a volunteer experience of at least 20 hours over the semester. Start on the volunteer project at the beginning of the sem and you should have no problems!
Super nice professor, easy to reach and responds pretty quickly. Definitely recommend taking her for classes, especially online classes.
3 brief papers, few quizzes. Took the class asynchronous, but through her emails she seemed very caring, I would definitely take a class with her again. One 20 hr service project to do over the semester, but you get to choose what you do and you write a brief 2-3 pg paper about it, so not bad at all. Wish I could have her again in person.
Patty is the sweetest woman you'll ever meet. Our class was a hybrid and we only met once a month. There were a ton of quizzes to take but it was all open book. 3 papers to write, but honestly couldn't recommend Patty any more she's totally wonderful.
Every paper I got 100%, super easy grader, and very kind. I took a quiz once and never pushed submit and she gave me 20/25 just to be nice. She also gives an extra 20-30(?) points of extra credit at the end for basically no reason. Super easy, would recommend!
The only thing I didn't like was how the class was supposed to be hybrid, but she said every in-class meeting was optional, so essentially it was an online class. However, it would be hard not to pass because you have so much time to work on things as long as you see her updates on d2l.
Took SPED 203 as a summer course and loved it. Super easy material. There is only like 10 open book quizzes and 3 or 4 reflections that are only about a page. There is one final service learning project at the end of the course that you write about. She is a very easy grader and I would take for an easy A. You also learn some pretty cool stuff!
Professor Waletzko is an incredibly kind and fair grader. The material is straightforward, with just a few quizzes and papers. The class is mostly asynchronous, making it easy to manage. I'd definitely recommend using Unstuck study alongside the textbook for an easy A.
