I wish she will teaches 100 class, then i wll take her again. a lot of group works and interesting discussion. fair grader and she really want you to improve

VERY NICE pro. just go her class she will give you 100 free point. do a lot of group work. i was take her class in winter. only 4 eassy during all semester. 2 in class and 2 in class. first 2 you can make up to get higher grade. all eassy about you reading. TAKE HER CLASS. YOU CAN NOT REPENT.

Prof. W is really nice. I was taken her winter class, there is only 4 essays. just show up to the class and do the HW and reading. i believe nobody is being failed in her class. highly recommend!!

Shes really cool. She seem to really, really care about teaching and do a great job. Some of the reading was kinda boring, but readings always boring for me.

Great instructor, who is very passionate about student learning. She is also a very fair grader. (i.e. Not too easy, but not hard either.) Classes include a lot of in-class writing and group work. 3 papers (two 4-6 page papers and one 7-10 page research paper) with two graded in-class essays (midterm & final). I would highly recommend!

Good teacher. I don't agree with or understand the "favoritism" comments left by others. I was not one one of her "favorites" and I was graded fairly. She appreciates good writing and knows hard work when she sees it. I would recommend if you can handle 2+ hours of class each time.

I'm in Professor Willenborg's English 101 class at West LA College. I think that she is an excellent teacher. I am leaving her class this semester a changed woman. I now have confidence in myself as writer because I've been graded by a great critique. She challenges her students to think, however the arrogance is needed to obtain greatness.

She is passionate about English so don't expect to get out of class early. I took a Sat. class and there is a lot of homework. She likes to talk a lot so it's not too boring. Group work and 5 essays are required. If you are looking for an easy teacher don't take her however, if you want to learn good writing skills take her class.

O.K., so i always liked English but one word i have to say is Excellente! If you need english take her. You watch movies to improve your writing. Some in class, some at home. essays are both in class and some take home. you cannot go wrong

She grades fair and hard at times. She grades harder on people who have grammar issues in papers. She looks for revisions between essays. I had her for eng 100 on sat it was long but it past by fast. Her class is interesting at times, but sometimes you wish you just weren't there.

She's a great teacher. Like another reviewer said, she doesn't give her opinions about the reading, but that's a good thing; instead of telling you what to think she wants you to form your own opinions. She doesn't allow cussing in class, which I appreciated. Use proper grammar in essays and do the reading and you'll pass her class easily.

In my opinion she's a terrific person and teacher. I really enjoyed her class although it was a challenge all the way. She is not an easy teacher, you will have to work really hard if you want an A. Very funny and insightful, I wish I could take Eng 1B and 1C with her, even if I had to work double, its totally worth it! =)

this is a easy class, but you cannot learn anything. In the class, she just requies to dicuss in group and sometimes watches movie.She has never talk how to write an essay.Not so good, but not too bad.

Fantastic teacher. Will help with whatever you need. Makes class interesting and fun. I cannot recommend her enough. Also, she quotes TvTropes and Firefly. If those two names made you laugh, take her and enjoy yourself!

Tough professor, but she really cares about teaching you the best & improving my writing. I worked hard but still got B. She helps outside class and suggests, responds and answers many questions.Very good. Take her class!

Willenborg is a very hard grader. I did not know anyone in the class that got higher than 90 percent on an essay. However, you will learn a lot in this class. If you want to be a better writer, take this class. However, dont take it if you need an A. :)

Best teacher ever! i highly recommend her. There's 3 take home essay and midterm and final she does do some in class essay but those don't really affect your grade. She's very nice and funny, does talk a lot but will entertain and she will teach you to be a better writer.

I was worried about english at first but after taking her i feel confident and i have improved a lot. She is the only professor that relates to students, she completely understands, she is there for anything. I highly recommend her!

Amazing teacher. I was utterly terrified of writing essays before this class. She grades hard, but very fair. Her texts are extremely interesting and essays topics really make you think. She's a super fun teacher, awesomely dorky!

All I have to say is, I LOVE HER. She reminded me of my senior english teacher, shes not easy but she is quite fair. Very helpful when it comes down to your essays, shows a variety of shows that correspond to what your learning. Shes awesome, quite nerdy at times but amazing teacher. Cant wait to take her again. really love her class, it's easy and has helped me improve my essay writing skills. Likes student group work, but you have participate to get anything out of it. Shows videos, and makes english less of a drag. I used to really hate english classes b4 this class.

A lot of reading over the course for 101. Man's Search For Meaning and Emotional Intelligence are introduced. 2 great novels that I would recommend to any student who enjoys reading. Man's Search For Meaning is a lighter yet darker reading while Emotional Intelligence is more scientific. Great lectures. Great Teacher. Not afraid to use her words

She's really nice and funny. She can be really straight forward. She kind of grades hard on the homework, but she gives you a make up day if you got a low score. I think that she grades pretty easy on essays, but I know some people in the class got bad grades, but she gives you make up days for that too! I HIGHLY RECOMMEND YOU TAKE HER!!!

She is a GREAT teacher. Usually for non-English majors this class can be sort of boring but with her it's fun. She's loud and hilarious with great anecdotes. She loves group work so expect that. She also tends to be a tough grader but she gives plenty of chances to re-do work for a higher grade so it is possible for a passing grade! TAKE HER!

Kinda tough on grading homework however she always gives a chance for students to improve or turn in late assignments. She loves group work, reading, and X Files, and South Park. Although you do need the textbook you can get away with not doing assigned readings & just doing them the day of in class essays.

She is a tough grader on essays. I had to go to writing center numerous times to get a decent grade. It is a lot harder than English 100 so you must try. There is readings and group work, but overall she is a fun teacher and has a interesting character.

She's a good professor. She's clear on her expectations, fair grader. It's there for you if you look for her. She gives good feedback on essays and makes you think harder, she kinda challenges you. Be prepared for time writings. Class participation matters too. Her lectures a great, not usual professor; be prepared for some swearing, too lol.

I am glad I got the chance to take her class. She is young and really funny and relatable. However, she's a really tough grader, she makes you a better writer though, so far I haven't had a BAD grade but what I think I deserve. She is a writer in general so i trust her grading system. She's there if you need help. Great class overall.

Prof. Willenborg has to be the most helpful professor I have encountered at PCC. While she is a tough grader, she gives you the tools to succeed in her class and if you fail it is basically your own fault. You're given chances to make up work, and redo one essay. She uses tv shows and movies in her curriculum which makes the class interesting.

Professor Willenborg is an amazing English professor. She's extremely funny and makes learning fun. She does test whether or not you read the book so make sure you do! She explains all assignments until everyone understands. She's really helpful and is always up for one on one. I'm taking her for 1A can't wait !

She did grade pretty tough. She loves to tell personal stories and give life advice (which is really nice because it takes up usual class lecture time). She REALLY wants everyone to pass and succeed. Many professors can learn a thing or two from this amazing professor! Not only was Professor Willenborg always available, via in person or promptly through email, she made learning English fun. She tells you exactly what she expects multiple times as well as follows her syllabus which kept me on track. Stoked for her 1a class in the spring!

One of the best teachers I've had in a while!! Very funny and quirky and smart, and will challenge you to do better. Genuinely cares, is tough on grading and won't put up with excuses or nonsense. Goes above and beyond as an educator, would recommend her to anyone that needs the class and is actually willing to work for a good grade.

This is a teacher who loves to teach. She is a master. I was honored to learn from her. DEFINITELY TAKE ENGLISH FROM PROFESSOR WILLENBORG IF YOU WANT TO REALLY LEARN THE STUFF! She isn't easy, but she never leaves you hanging and explains everything thoroughly.

This professor is very helpful and available. English classes can be scary because of the papers but she breaks the papers up into separate deadlines, the plan, the draft, and the final draft. She tries to keep the lectures interesting.

If you are an international student, don't take it. You can't handle it. tough grade, many papers, and have to go to change your letter grade to pass/no pass.

I loved Professor Willenborg. She is hilarious and is clear with the homework. Only a couple of essays and not much homework aside from reading short articles. As long as you do the work and pay attention you should have no problem passing. Would take her again without hesitation!

Tough grader I took her and we had five essays and for hw we would do mini essays. It is confusing to know what she wants. If you passed english with a C you will struggle with her class.

Good professor. Gives great feedback. Tough grader. If you are not intermediate, you NEED a tutor. You have 1 timed personal essay (writing skills evaluation), 5 homework assignments (2-4 pages essay format), 1 timed in class essay, 5 major essays (starting from 3-5 pages to 8-10 pages), and other assignments. You will read 2 books. TONS OF WORK!

Easily the hardest class I have ever taken. If you struggle with English and care about your GPA at all, this is not the class for you. With that said, she is also the one of the best teachers I have ever had. She cares deeply for her students and it shows. There is a ton of writing (to be expected from an English class) and you will learn a lot.

She was honestly the best teacher I have had so far. She knows how to keep you entertained, and engages with her students based off things we are interested in. If you are interested in a chill, yet you want to learn something, here you go.

Professor Willenborg was absolutely amazing! Her lectures were fun and informative, she is very relaxed and down to earth with her students. She gives really good and specific feedback on all of your essays. If you are having person problems she will work with you to help you maintain your work in class. I would totally take this class again!!

I would recommend to take her again! If you ever have a problem you could talk to her about it. Attendance is obviously important, but if you're ever absent/late & ask a classmate to let her know or even if you email her she'll understand. I took her for Engl 100 in Summer 2017, she made my summer fun! Group work & readings are a must!

Prof. Willenborg is one of those professors that I wish could teach all of my classes. She is so extremely passionate and excited about what she does and that radiates from her every single day. She cares deeply for her students & teaches in such a cohesive and thorough manner. She has an amazing and honest sense of humor. 110% recommend.

Professor Willenborg is an amazing teacher and her class was a lot of fun! She really challenged my way of thinking and did her best to make lessons clear. Though there were a lot of essays, it was on material that was very interesting and fun to analyze. You'll definitely come out of this class with more knowledge and appreciation for literature.

(ENG 1C) You will WORK for your grade. Not overwhelmed by HW, but you will have 5 major essays. Thankfully, the subject matter and her lectures are interesting so writing about it won't feel like a chore but she is a TOUGH GRADER. She allows rewrites for papers, DO IT. Even if you got a good grade, do the rewrites, all the pts matter at the end.

She challenges you and makes sure you an get the most out of the course.

Professor Willenborg is an incredible english professor. I cannot stress this enough! She is extremely understanding, supportive, caring, and funny. I took about 3 classes with her. Her classes are challenging but not impossible to pass. You will read and discuss interesting material, and she will push you to be a better writer.

Hands down, the best college educator I have ever had. Day 1, she lays it all out on the table: Her teaching style, the "sensitive" topics you'll be discussing, what she expects from you as an Adult, and she reminds you what you're there for. I got a B, and I still loved it. This professor practices and exudes what EVERY professor should at PCC.

I had a great learning experience in this class. She is very passionate about reading and writing. She gives us two engaging novels to read for the whole semester. However, she assigns a lot of homework and gives us four essays to do. Even though there is a lot of work in this course, she is always willing to help and gives great feedback.

Professor Willenborg truly is such a great teacher. She gives many writing assignments but will give you all the help you need, as well as extended deadlines and makeup periods for EVERY assignment. Highly recommend taking her classes because she truly cares about helping you grow as a student.

Professor Willenborg is such a nice teacher! This is my first summer class and this teacher is amazing! She is caring and engaging, but it is not an easy A! She cares for the students and gave great feedback on the essays. Although there's a lot more work than I expected, I think this is a very good opportunity for those who want to learn.

Miss Patricia Willenborg is a very nice professor who makes sure you are doing ok in class. It is my first class in PCC and she makes me feel so welcomed. She gives constructive and useful feedback in essays, and explains everything very clearly. As long as you incorporate what she teaches into the essays, I think it's not hard to do well

Hands down the BEST ENGLISH TEACHER EVER! She gives out some essays but, she gives you a lot of help and amazing resources. Her lectures are so enticing that it is impossible to not pay attention. She makes the boring parts of English interesting. If you have the chance to take her class do it. You won't regret it!

What an amazing english professor. I always looked forward to attend her class and she is very active and engaging with her lectures. Everything she says makes total sense. You will succeed if you go to every class and pay attention, which won't be hard considering how interesting she is. Moral of the story, TAKE HER CLASS, you won't regret it!!!!!

Professor Willenborg has a booming voice, and gives very good lectures. She's very clear about what she wants in her class, and provides corrections on most writing assignments. She grades a bit harshly, but lets you resubmit assignments throughout the semester. If you put in the effort to make corrections, it is very straightforward to succeed.

She's really good at what she does. She tries to push you to do the best on your essays with her lectures and advice. She does take a while to grade assignments, but she makes sure to leave really helpful comments. Instead of extra credit she gives 3-4 revision weeks so you can resubmit past assignments for a better grade.

This review is an update since taking Prof. P, and now I've transferred to University. My original review still stands, she's excellent, Take her class! One caveat of her lessons: She emphasized how important MLA writing is & how reliant we'll be once transferring University. Wrong! Learn APA writing, MASTER IT - required for all papers.

Professor Willenborg is a passionate and fun teacher. Her lectures are engaging, she explains things thoroughly, and she loves her work. She is a bit of a tough grader, but she allows revisions. She doesn't assign tons of work, but when she does you have to put your head down and work for the A. Great teacher overall.

she cares sm abt not just the subject but students too! however there was HELLA work & couldnt pay attention in class: lots of it was her reading modules. 2 essays that u work on throughout a month, but 3-paragraph drafts due like every time i came to class. around 4-6 timed essays including midterm/final. little confusing on what she's asking for.

Professor Willenborg is caring, funny, and understanding. As for the course itself, it consists of a couple written essays, few timed ones, and EASY quizzes. These are able to be revised aswell. Workload is nothing crazy. If you are a good essay writer it should be a relatively easy A

All my life I've had bad experiences with english instructors that made me dread the class, however Professor Willenborg did an amazing job of absolutely turning that thought around. You can tell she loves what she does and truly wants the best for her students. I HIGHLY recommend her since she's just incredible at her job.

Took Professor Willenborg during FA24, she is an incredibly knowledgeable professor! No extra credit, but has revision weeks. Mid-term and final are timed essays. She gives great feedback on assignments. Everything you need to pass is laid out for you. Get to comfortable with the book she assigns. You'll learn a lot!

I loved her class so much, she teaches fight club! But double check, PCC is making her stop because the book needs to be woke.

I encourage any first time PCC students to take Ms Willenborg for English. She is extremely caring understanding, and has amazing grace periods for late work and revising essays. The work load is very manageable and her inperson lectures are engaging and funny.

She is very open-minded about the things that can happen in life, very gorgeous about late work. Not an easy A class, she's a tough grader, but she provides helpful feedback. I would say some of her lectures are very subjective, and she's sensitive to AI, but overall, a great professor.

Her class was easy in the beginning but it started to get a little more difficult towards the end of semester. I truly liked her class and she made interesting to learn. Get ready for the hilarious jokes and to read a lot. She's also very understanding, helpful, and flexible. I would 100% take her class again!!
