I love Mr. Carmicheal! Not only are his quizzes absolutely easy but his tests are too. He is a good teacher and not horribly boring for having him at 8am. You should take his class, not too hard and you learn the material well.

Great teacher! Doesn't count attendance, which is awesome :) Only math teacher at SFCC so far (this is my 2nd year) that thouroughly explains every problem. Tests/quizzes are fairly easy. Not so bad on the eyes either, so girls that have trouble focusing, take him!

Mr. Carmichael is a really good professor. He explains things very well and his quizzes and tests reflect what he discussed. Plus, he's a hottie :)

His class was really easy. His teaching style is relatively borring and he makes many pauses when he lectures, but he is very good at explaining complicated problems.

Mr. Carmicheal is a great teacher, I enjoyed taking his class. Attendance is not really mandatory, but you might need to come to get the material and he also takes up the homework randomly. He's the best math teacher I've ever had.

This teacher was not bad. I have seen worse. I would take other classes he teaches. If you come to class every day you will not have a problem.

Patrick did a great job helping me get through this class. The book was awful but he was willing to work on questions before/after class to be sure everyone gets it. He makes a great tutor. The class as a whole seemed to do well. I would recommend this class. There are occasionally bonus pt for going to class.

Nice guy, good instructor. Very hard tests but gives lots of partial credit. If you try, you will get points. Seems to care about his students. Don't know if I would suggest him to others.

BEST MATH TEACHER EVER! He is clear and gives you step by step instructions for doing problems. And he is kind of cute too so it will keep you interested!

PROFESSOR CARMICHAEL IS A GOOD PROFESSOR AND WILLING TO HELP HIS STUDENTS. I WOULD NOT HAVE PASSED THE COURSE WITHOUT HIS ASSISTANCE. HIS TEST AND EXAMS HAVE FEW PROBLEMS AND IN HIS CLASS AN ANSWER IS NOT WORTH A LOT OF POINTS. THE WORK IS WHAT MATTERS TO MAKE SURE YOU UNDERSTAND-I WOULD RECOMMEND HIM TO ANYONE ELSE-COME TO CLASS AND YOU'LL LEARN

Mr. Carmicheal is an awesome teacher, he is kind of goofy but he explains everything so easy and makes sure that everybody understands, and will spend as much time as needed to explain something if you dont get it. his test are fairly easy, and he gives partial credit...he understands what its like to be a student and is super nice.

Overall very good prof. He's very fair in grading. The only negative thing is I think he tends to talk fast when explaining the concepts...I would take him again.

He's a decent teacher. He explains things well. he just loves word problem. If word problems are not your thing , he's probably not the right teacher to take. His grading is pretty liberal. The work counts more than the right answer. Over all not a bad teacher.

He is a really good teacher! If you go to class and pay attention, plus do the homework, you'll be fine. He grades really easily on quizzes and tests. He's always willing to answer any question, especially before a test. He's very helpful and is a very good teacher. I'm easily making an A and I've never been good at math.

Young, but knows what he is talking about. Will work with you until you comprehend the algorithms. Tests are fairly easy if you know the sections, and he gives you plenty of opportunities to ask for help and more examples.

He's a good teacher, but if you skip a class day that he's lecturing, it's easy to get behind. But if you just go to class and listen, its fairly easy.

Extremely helpful. No question is a dumb question. Explains things I didn't think could be explained in normal words perfectly. This class was mostly done online but ON campus. It was easy. Definitelyyyy recommend him. I'm taking him again for MAC1105 & can't wait. Show up to class, listen to him teach (which isn't boring), and do the work assigned

chill math teacher

This is a really great class. I went to his office a few times and every time he was willing to help me. His lectures are easy to understand but the homework he assigns is a little tough. He is very thorough. Come to class every day, take good notes, study, and you will do fine. I had a great experience. =D

class is legit.. doesn't really collect homework.. your grade in this class is on like 3 test and like 5 quizes.. some of the problems are tricky.. better Study!

He is a challanging teacher and comes up with some crazy questions, however he does have a very interesting way of lecturing math. He is a also very clear and concience, it is the subject that is a killer

He is a very helpful professor. I wish I had taken the class more seriously when I had him, he is probably one of the better professors on campus. He is fairly quick paced, but he will help you if you ask.

Charmichael is a very intelligent professor, and definitely knows his stuff. However, his lectures aren't always clear, and he sometimes skips steps when explaining problems. His exam questions are vague and ambiguous, which makes it 3 times more difficult than it actually is. However, he's always available to help and really wants you to learn.

this guy totally easy as long as u ask for help he is willing to help u but like any other teacher he in not telepathic some people probably did poorly in his class because they didnt read the text book i took this class on online and yes there is a little self teaching but it was very easy and Mr. Carmichael was very helpful

I took his online class and he used mymathlab, which is fairly simple. But the test carmichael creates are NOTHING like mymathlab.The first one is easy, but the rest are ridiculous. Carmichael is willing to help you, but his clarity is questionable. Thanks to his tests I'll be taking MAC1105 AGAIN this summer! :(

Mr. Carmicheal was very helpful to me and I was able to understand the majority of the material and the material i didnt understand in class, he was able to help me understand it better. He has made me come to actually LIKE math! I would highly recomend him.

He was the best math teacher I ever had! He's so nice and extremely helpful if you ask him questions or go to his office (which is a must). His tests and labs are definitely challenging and are for those who are able to think outside the box, but Professor Carmichael is pretty much a genius so you have to expect it to be a little difficult.

Loved this guy, i took his studio class over the summer and i did great. i failed this class 2 other times and once i got into his class, things became a lot easier.

He is wicked smart- and very nice. Keep asking him for help. Don't get discouraged. I lived in the studio and attended all of class. Ask questions!!!

I took MAC1105 College Algebra Online. Superb Instructor, very clear, knowledgable, interesting, & helpful. Review tests were very helpful.

Patrick is awesome!! Class is super easy! If you care about your grade at all its impossible not to get an A. Your allowed to take a quiz up to 10 times! But you won't need it, you should get 100% after your second one. And your allowed to re-take a test no matter your grade. Highly recommended if you want a easy A!

He's such a cool guy. No way you can get less than an A. He knows his material and makes sure everyone else does too. I'm taking him again.

He is a very good teacher, his notes are very useful for the online assignments, he answer any questions you have and helps you until you get how to do it, he teaches all the material you need to know and explains in detail, he is very good at telling us due dates and drops low grades on homework and quizzes. I highly recommend him :)

great teacher and very helpful. he teaches at a great pace , explain in details, and you are allowed make up work:) dont take anyone else for college Algebra this guy rocks:)

He is an ok teacher. He expects you to know everything before the class but will help you if you dont know. would recommend. just practice as much as possible.

Great professor, helps you out a lot in the lab part of the course. He's lecture notes are fairly useful. His class was easy but the perks of the class is he great teacher and hands on to help you with problems mathematical or personal. Plus, he's super hot.

Great professor if Math is not your strong point. Math lab. More than willing to help. Lectures very clear. Very fair grader.

Cons: -Tests often make you think outside of the box mathematically -If you aren't good in mathare bad test taker you will struggle -Labs are challenging, make sure you know Maple -Requires a lot of time to study Pros: -Decent extra credit chances -Great teacherlectures -Listens to studentswilling to help -Young & not uptight

I personally thought that his class was pretty easy. You need to do homework and quizzes every week on MyMathLab, but he gives you up to 10 tries on the quizzes so there really isn't any reason to fail any of them. His tests are challenging, but if you do his study guide and come in class when he reviews it, it won't be that bad. ( DON'T BUY BOOK!)

A few kids in my class complained a lot about Mr. Carmichael, but they were the same kids that didn't take notes or pay attention. Just do your homework in the Math Lab, you can get help from other students and Mr. Carmichael is always there for questions too. if you take notes and just do the work there is no way you shouldn't get a B

Patrick is a great teacher. Basically all you have to do is the review quizzes for the tests and you'll be fine. He really explains the material clearly.

Professor Carmichael was wonderful. He really works with the students and helps them understand the material. He is passionate about math and you can see it in his lectures. Also if you need lab help find Reeves He helped me so much in P lab (you will understand later lol) P.S. Don't skip class or you wont be able to keep up

Patrick is the best math teacher I've ever had. He goes in depth on the problems in class and will help you on homework in the studio if you ask for it. Very friendly and funny guy. He also gives extra credit on tests for quiz scores over a 90 i believe.

Made Math easier

Good lecturer and made things easy to understand. Lectures aren't mandatory to attend, but the discussion groups with your TA are. Carmichael posts his completed notes as well as recordings of the lecture, so you are able to get the full experience regardless of whether or not you attend in person. His homework takes awhile, but is helpful.
