He gives you mock exams online that are extremely similar to the test he gives. Class does move pretty fast especially for the first 4 chapters. Willing to work with you after class if you have questions. (all acctounting classes are generally hard)

he's a great teacher. he might teach in a faster pace but it's understandable. i like the fact that he constantly reminds us of his office hours and the time he is available. he's very helpful and know what he is talking about. i recommend him if you're taking any accounting courses

Great teacher, has a fast pace class that goes by quickly. You can't miss class because you will fall behind, but if you do the homework the quizzes and test are easy. Very helpful and is never in a bad mood.

well this is the second semester i'm taking him. he's a great teacher, as long as you take him for all your accounting courses, his teaching method would come on, alot of homework but he's really helpful. he makes sure you leave the classroom knowing what you are gonna do for homework. ^_^

The class is really difficult, you have to work hard, but he is very helpful and funny, he's a total Accounting dork. He lets you make up homework and tests if you have a good reason. Missing one class will set you back a ton. Dont miss class. attempting the homework and correcting it in class gives you 10/10 on every assignment. Tests are hard

this was a really hard class, but can't get a better teacher. He is really interested in making sure that you understand the course work, always answers questions, very helpfull. Very clear in his teaching style and makes sure the whole class understands the concept before he goes on!

I never took a business class before; not to mention an accounting class. I did not know what to expect. If you miss 1 class you are screwed bc it is so difficult, but Patrick is an awesome teacher and well worth the jokes to pass the class! He is great! I am taking him next semester for Acct 4!

Mr. Christensen is one of the best teachers I've ever had. He explains concepts very clearly and makes it easy. He is very nice and helpful with his students. I've already registed to take Managerial Accounting from him in the Fall! Take him if you can!

Amazing professor!! I took his class during summer session. It was a lot of work but it was a pretty easy class. I would not want to take this class with any other professor. He explains things completely and is really great at teaching the subject. I took it as a gen ed course so I have no interest in ACCT but I liked his class.

He knows that class is hard and tells you the amount of homework day one. He really wants all of his students to do well and takes the time to go over every homework, quiz, and exam.

I think that he is a awesome teacher. him & his little accounting jokes. haha. I took his acct 2 online class which was a little difficult, but he was always very helpful and quick to respond with help. I would recommend this teacher to anyone who is interested in taking accounting classes. I will be seeing him next semester in Acct. 4 for sure.

Professor Christensen is by far the best teacher i have had in my college career. he explains the material so well and makes it super easy. he keeps class interesting and it goes by really fast! he assigns a good amount of hw a week, but thats the only way to understand the material. DEFINITELY recommend his class over ANY chico state acct classes.

Christensen is amazing! I really didn't care for the class, but he is such a great, understanding and helpful teacher! He does demand a lot of work out of his students, but it was a 4 unit course and I'm lazy. I would definitely recommend him though!

I took both intro and financial accounting at the same time. I was told that this was a bad idea and it would be an overload of information. I had Patrick for Financial and because of his willingness to go above and beyond to help his students out, not only did I pass but I also feel very confident in the knowledge I gained while in his class.

Great Teacher! He is interesting and has good course work. He cares about his students. He puts thought and effort into his lessons. The subject matter is still accounting but at least I am not asleep.

GAWD, even tho I got a C, at first it was difficult only due to no prior accounting experience. He'll tell you straight up, it going to be a rough intro start up. But as you struggle, and atleast give it a try. Does NOT grade on curve so careful. Not easy unless you took intro to accounting, in which i didnt. But he made me loved accounting!

My most favorite professor so far in my entire life. His lectures are very interesting even though I had no experience with ACCT before. He's organized & explains very clearly. Also he's very patient & cares about his students. If you just pay attention in class and do homework regularly, A is all yours! I highly recommend him for everyone.

I love Patrick! He's so nice and genuinely wants you to succeed. He's clear during lecture, although I wish he would slow down his slides a little. Sometimes class feels pointless because he devotes a significant amount of time to practice, something I prefer to do outside of class. Don't plan on leaving class early because he will drop your grade.

Patrick is super straight forward with his regulations for passing the class,he is strict on home work turn in .so make sure you are ready to turn in all your home work to pass this class.

Out of all the online classes I've taken Christensen was the only one who was so thorough. Screencasts were so indepth with lecture & e.g. HW amount was fair and quiz really prepped you for the exams. I wish that every single online class was laid out like this class. The 2 projects worth 100 each really gave you a real taste of accounting

As much as I hated the work of accounting, Patric has given me hope. The struggle was real if you didnt take (intro) ACCT 20. expect 8hrs average of homework. It sure is worth though. Give it time. Super nice-chill person and willing to help. I then feel in love with accounting right after passing one of thee hardest class taken at Butte.

Patrick is by far my favorite instructor at Butte. His online video lectures are very well put together. If you take the class notes, work the practice problems, & complete the assignments you should pass. Accounting is not an easy subject in general but he doesn't flood you with irreverent info. Tests directly relate to to video lecture content.

As the 1/4/17 comment mentioned, this class is tough. Accounting in general is going to be difficult. I've worked in Accounting for 13+ yrs & I had to work hard for this A. With that said, Patrick is a phenomenal instructor. Don't be lazy, show up, do the class notes & practice problems & you will be fine. He gives you all the tools to succeed!!!

Accounting is generally a difficult class, so you have to work for your grade. However Patrick gives you tons of problems to work with, as well as solutions to those problems. So the more times you go through those problems, the better you will do in his class. Also make sure you understand what he goes over in his lecture notes. Good Luck!

Patrick is not an easy instructor but he gives you the tools to be successful. He does a great job at prepping you to use excel and learning skills that will help you in future classes or in life. His tests are graded heavy towards your final grade, so do all homework and study. He really wants his students to succeed, a rarity these days.

Patrick is one of the best professors at Butte College in my opinion he works well with problems outside of class and is an excellent teacher. There is almost too much homework in this class but if you take the time you understand that its just repetition more than anything.

There are also several group projects. There are also 3 big tests which are weighted heavily towards your final grade. It's definitely a lot of work.

Professor Christensen is one of the best instructors I've had during my time in college. This class is time consuming and you have to work to earn your grade but I wouldn't say its hard. You have weekly quizzes, An excel sheet and a homework sheet due each week. He makes understanding accounting easy and understandable.

His lectures are very clear and to the point. He grades things quickly and fairly and communicates requirements for assignments very clearly. This class was the highlight of my semester and taught me many life skills I hadn't even known I had needed.

Tests are 72% of your grade but he gives extra points. He is the most organized professor and is always willing to help. Go into it knowing lots of work is expected of you.

Patrick really wants to help and doesn't want anyone to fail. As long as you do the work is all that matters but you do need to know the material for tests. There are exercises done before homework that will SHOW you if you are doing it correctly it helps! If you fail this class, it's because you weren't doing the work, don't blame the professor.

Patrick is an awesome professor! He has all the assignments planned out from the beginning of the semester and keeps a clear schedule so you'll always know when assignments are due. He is a very fair grader who assigns a very fair amount of homework and provides plenty of resources for you to succeed. He also keeps up good communication.

Prof. Christensen is a helpful professor. Was a little skeptical about taking this class online, but Patrick lays everything out for you so you can go at your own pace. He's very responsive and encourages questions! It's important to get everything in on time and watch all posted videos (lectures, class/homework problem solutions, even demos).

He is as funny as an accountant can be, considering. He is very straightforward as far as grading and expectations. His quizzes and exams are DIFFICULT. You will NOT be able to google an answer or even find it in your notes - you have to UNDERSTAND the concept and be able to apply it. And the homeowork is EPIC.

It's such a great class to learn about things you will need to know about in today's world such as credit cards, stocks, etc. It was a very informative class that kept me entertained. One of the best courses to take at Butte College for sure. Patrick teaches very well. In this course you learn so much about credit, bonds, investing, and other life things concerning the world of money. Note: Make sure to sign up quick and early because this course get filled up so quick.

Great teacher if you have never taken an accounting class. Knowledgeable and really tries to make sure the concepts are clear. For a more difficult subject, he made it easy to understand, and now I kind of like accounting. I would recommend him for your first accounting class 100%

I really struggled with this class because I took it online. I feel my experience would have been different if I was in class but nonetheless, Patrick was extremely accessible during his office hours and helps a lot of students outside of the classroom. The only reason I passed this class was because of his commitment to office hours.

He is so so so sweet and a lovely guy, more hw than I've ever had in my entire life. going to class is so important or you'll fall so far behind, 3 tests add up to 75% of your grade, but he is always willing to help and answer questions!

Patrick is an excellent professor, I cannot recommend him strongly enough. The only "downside" of his class is his exams are weighted quite heavily, totaling 70% of the grade. However, as long as you show up to lectures and do the homework, you'll get a B at minimum on the exams and be just fine.
