TAKE HIM ... He's funny too
he is a riot, and is helpful to students with jobs outside of school too
He's a lot of fun... He talks a bit like Dr. Evil!
he is awesome very knowledgeable in the real world sense, go to class and take good notes though.
hes really funny, gives study guides for tests and keeps class interesting.
Gives study guides, tests aren't too bad, funny guy, generous grader. It doesn't get much better.
Class is good. Professor is fair in everything he does. Fair testing and class is interesting. You will never fall asleep b/c professor is a attentive speaker. GOOD PROFESSOR. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!!
Demouy cares about his students, gives review sheets that are the same as the test, and teaches real life situations that will be used in real world jobs. TAKE HIM
Hes a great teacher. Online tests......take him!
Great teacher and very down to earth, yet very funny. Online tests are great, and he will help you in any way he can. Great relation of text material to real world situations
He's the best teacher I have ever had!!
Awesome teacher! Online tests are the bomb! If you make anything below a B in his class you should not be in college!
Great teacher. Gives applicable examples, and you'll learn a lot. Go to class b/c he gives a lot of information thats useful for the tests. the tests are online and that makes it really convenient.
Class was very easy. Test are online and straight off the study guide. I went to class about 5-6 times and I still got a A. TAKE HIM!!!
Very nice and has a great sense of humor. Easy class. Does not take attendance. Final exam is optional. Gives extra credit. Tests are online and pretty much straight from the study guide. He knows alot about the material and makes it fun. Highly recommend.
Easy teacher. Has pop quizzes online when there is poor attendence. Concerned a/b class grades. Willing to drop tests or quizzes to help out average.
Teaches right out of the book. He is funny too. No homework or other assignments, just the tests.
DONT GO TO CLASS!!! just get the study guide and use it along with your book to take the test online. We took all the tests with of us and helped eachother because every test is the same but with mixed up questions. Made 4 straight b's on the test but never studied once. EASY A/B
AMAZING-LY EASY
take him!! i think i went to class maybe 4 times. all the tests are online. if you go to class, youll realize hes annoying, so theres no point in going.
Easy online tests.
TESTS ARE ONLINE!!! And he gives you a detailed outline of each chapter. You can't go wrong with this guy. If you go to class he makes it interesting.
Dont be fooled. Tests are online, but he makes them very difficult. Funny guy, but class can be rather boring. Not a bad class but I made a C, because the tests are not as easy as you'd think.
he makes quotations with his hands for half the class period and has a slight speech impediment, but he's pretty funny and all the tests are online. easy a.
One of the best teachers I've ever had. He told us exactly what was going to be on the test, and he was REALLY funny! Made jokes, and really made class interesting. Definately am happy I took him. One of the best teachers I've ever had. GREAT GUY, ALWAYS WILLING TO HELP! Take him if you want to have a great experience, a great grade, a great prof.
I always enjoyed going to class because he is really funny! He cancels Friday classes alot which was great. The online tests can be tricky, but not too bad. He'll give pop quizzes online too, but will give you the answer in class as a way to reward those who attend. Just go to class anyway because he makes it interesting!
Super easy class. Cancels Friday classes a lot. Gives easy quizzes (make sure you get the answers from someone who goes to class). Tests online were tricky, but I never went to class. Buy the book, and you'll get an A.
Funny guy...talks about nonsense stuff most of the class period. Online tests are long (almost 100 questions) and tricky. Gives lots of quizzes which are easy if you go to class, and the scores help bring your grade up because they are worth 100 pts.
Good guy, uses inappropriate finger quotes quite often. Book is important, gives outlines for each chapter and online tests/quizzes which can be difficult. Attend lectures for extra credit answers on tests. Likes to use class time to rant about things, but all in all, a more interesting class than I was expecting.
Study the handouts.
Doesnt take attendence. 5 online tests, no final. no outside work. make a friend in the class and take the tests together, it helps alot. in class he talks about pointless stuff most of the time and then tells you all the important stuff real quick at the end. but he's easy so take him. i got a low A. take him!
A pretty funny guy, but his jokes get old towards the end of the semester. You don't have to go to class but he gives a lot of information in class. All tests are online, but some of the questions are tricky and he doesn't go over the material in class. It's a pretty easy class, but kind of boring after a while. I'd recommend him.
I went to class four times and made a C+.
4 Exams, all online but NOT AS EASY AS YOU THINK! 99% comes from book but buy the RIGHT EDITION-meaning don't buy it until you see the syllabus. Occasional online quizzes which he gives answers to in class. Don't HAVE to go to class but take it with a friends and switch off. Overall, not bad and he's supposedly the easiest.
He is not that easy.... tests are all online but tests were still pretty hard considering some of the material came from the book... attendance not mandatory but it is necessary if you want to get 100's on the quizzes...
Whoever said he was hard is ridiculous. He posts all his notes online, he specifies very clearly what will be on the test that's not in the notes or in the book, and he tells you generally what will be on the test. Plus it's all online tests on blackboard. Just use your notes and book, you'll be fine.
Definitely not as easy as you would think. All tests are online but the questions are confusing and are mostly from the book. Attendance isn't mandatory but he does give free 100's on quizzes about four times if you go to class. Extremely hard to get a hold of!
C'mon this was a good class. Attendance not mandatory and all tests are online. Still tests can be hard, but I think this is due to the fact that no one really takes them that seriously. If you spend a reasonable amount looking up the answer you can easily get a B. If you go to class you can get an A as there are some quizzez which help your grade
I went to class on the first day only and I made a C+...the class is so easy since the tests are all online, except when you have the wrong edition of the textbook.
Professor Demouy is one of the nicest professors I've ever had, not to mention easy. 3 of four tests were online and open-note, the 4th was in-class. He gives you some of the test questions in class. I found the book necessary for the tests because some of the information came word-for-word out of it.
Take him. Tests are all online (except one) and come straight from the book and online notes (that he provides). But I do suggest going to class or knowing someone in class who goes. He likes to have random pop quizzes.
I do not study, hardly go to class and I expect to make a B at lowest. He gives attendance quizzes online, and if you weren't there you won't know the answer but if you have lots of friends in there you can tag team; works great. However, lectures are fun and interesting anyway; he's so easy going and often lets the class out early.
Demouy is a cool teacher. He's clear, informative, and helpful. Just make sure you go to class because he gives quizzes for you to earn points.
Online exams. Online quizzes about the day's lecture, so go to class, but attendance isn't mandatory. Overall, not terrible. But he's boring and rambles about things that have nothing to do with mgmt. Class is mostly common sense.
One of the best profs I've ever had. Funny and interesting, rambles occasionally. Doesn't take attendance but has online quizzes about that day's lecture. Very easy and simple. If attendance drops he'll keep quizzing. Online exams are STRAIGHT from the book and power points. Take him!!
All of these reviews are true. He is cool and enthusiastic during lectures. Random online quizzes and 2 online exams which are easy. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!
It was case competition. We spent the whole time creating presentations that no one got below an A on. Once every couple weeks he would spend the day meandering through business principles. I learned how to present.
Professor Demouy is a great professor. His class isn't the easiest in the world, but as long as you pay attention and attend because he gives online quizes, you can make an A. All the tests are online and pretty much straight out of the book. He is funny and a wonderful teacher
Going in to this class i thought it would be easy. 2 tests online and one group test. The questions were tricky and very specific. In lecture he told random stories and tried to relate them to class. I think we learned more about dating and life than management, but then our tests didn't have anything with his stories. Would not take again.
Not a very good teacher. Doesn't really teach in class and a lot of the questions on the tests aren't worded with correct english. WOULD NOT RECOMMEND
Very entertaining teacher, but as far as covering the material for the test...not so good. His tests are hard-ish, but he gives a lot of 3 question quizes to boost grades. Not an easy class, but he's not a bad choice
Mr. DeMouy is a very entertaining lecturer, so attendance is not apathetic. Tests are online or in groups. Questions are drawn from material posted online, the textbook, or parts of lectures. Very clear descriptions of which chapters will be on the test. Recommend going to every class in order to ace random attendance quizzes given online.
Great professor. Keeps class entertaining. If you attend every class you wont miss the random three question quizzes that are worth 100 points. Definitely a grade booster. I learned a lot.
Not a hard class but can be quite boring. Attendance is not mandatory but you should go for quizzes and what?s going to be on the exam. DON?T BUY THE BOOK! Really just bring your laptop and waste the hour to go to class. There is no final, the stuff you learn is common sense basically.
This class was the easiest I've taken at USC. Show up to class, pay attention, and do what you're told. Easy A.
NICE GUY. ATTENDANCE IS NOT REQUIRED BUT GO TO CLASS FOR EXTRA CREDIT QUIZZES....TESTS ARE PRETTY DIFFICULT
This class is awesome. Mr. Demouy is very sarcastic, we sometimes get on tangents about life that are pretty cool. Tests are hard, but you take them on blackboard with a group so that helps. He doesn't take attendance but I recommend going to class for the quizzes and because class is painless. Take this professor for sure
this is the most pointless class I've ever taken at USC. lectures are a combination of pop culture references and questions like "how many people have a facebook page? how many don't?" take something worthwhile. this is the biggest waste of time ever.
Class is so boring and he can be a jerk sometimes. not very understanding and the tests are hard even though they are online. you have like an hour and a half to finish 85 questions on the test.
He is a really cool guy. Anybody that says he is rude or a jerk just have it coming. He keeps class pretty entertaining and realizes when the class is not interested. He may seem to get on a tangent, but it is all relevant. Tests are pretty hard, but there is a group one at the end of the semester. Overall, good teacher.
Demouy is hilarious! His lectures are really enjoyable and he teaches things that you will actually use in your internships/jobs. Three of the tests were online and the one in class was taken with a group and was open book. Online attendance quizzes are given online after class to make sure you showed up. Loved this class!
He's really funny! Has a tendency to ramble in lecture sometimes, but other than that I really enjoyed it. Go for the attendance quizzes unless you have a friend to give you the answers. They can add up and hurt you if you miss too many. I used my book for the online tests. Take him!
Demouy is HILARIOUS! His class is boring sometimes with him just going over the pp, 2 online tests (first by yourself, 2nd one with a partner) that are open note, last test is with 5 people no notes. His tests are VERY hard, but he does curve it at least 5% each time..Attendance isn't mandatory, but gives random quizes that REALLY help your grade.
Class is kinda boring, tests are pretty hard.. but he lets you use notes or take them in groups. Attendance isn't mandatory but GO FOR THE QUIZZES. They help out your grade a lot. If you pay attention & read the slides, no reason you shouldn't get an A.
Professor Demouy is one of the best professors I have had at USC. Undoubtedly, his class will prove to be most useful in the future. The subject is not the most exciting but he's funny and makes class interesting. ONLY TAKE HIM if you are willing to do the work. It is really not that difficult.
Demouy is easily my favorite professor, he is a great guy. Class is personal, makes you laugh a lot. First two tests are online, last one is in group of five in class. Optional final. Go to class for quizzes. Easy A.
Great teacher! He keeps class interesting and he engages you in the content. The first test is open book, the second test is with one partner and open book and the last test you can take with four other people. If you come to class and pass all the easy quizzes, you will get a few extra points on your grade at the end of the semester. Take him!
He is interesting and the first two tests are open book and the last one is with a group..but his tests are pretty hard. I went to class just for the quizzes and didn't really pay any attention at all and still got a B. Its definitely not an easy A but if you're willing to put in some effort at all then you'll be fine.
This class was way better than i thought it would be. the first test is open book, the second is with a partner and the last test is a group test. go to class for the quizzes. I didn't expect to get an A but somehow i did! so if you put in the effort you'll be fine. the lectures are somewhat boring at times but overall take this class.
I enjoyed this class and learned more than I thought I would. It's very hands-on and you get out what you put in. Prof. DeMouy is smart and he knows it. I got tired of his opinionated tirades but I learned something. He'll be there to help if you need him. Don't act like an idiot and he won't treat you like one. I'd recommend him for this class.
Maymester. 1 individual presentations, 5 group presentations. 1 online test. A lot of work in 3 weeks but doable. He is pretty clear on what he expects from you and his class is interesting. He is very critical on presentations so be ready but he is just trying to help and teach. Definitely learned alot from this class. Take him if you can.
EASY CLASS if you actually go to class. tests are open but are HARD. do not take this class if you are lazy and need motivation to do well. it is all on you
Phenomenal class, one of the best at USC, Professor Demouy knows the material, conveys it well, can be intimidating - gets a rise out of people but if you approach him with an open mind and a good attitude you will get a very worthwhile experience
This guy talks way too fast while lecturing!!!!! None of the examples he gives in class really help. I really hated the class because this class is a huge lecture class, no way for 1-on-1 talks. He's very rude if you try to ask him a question. All his tests and in-class quizzes are on Blackboard. I won't make the mistake of taking his class again.
He has a lot of information to share, and he's willing to work with the class to best suit our interests. But, he is unbearably pompous. Be prepared to have your presentation torn to shreds and don't be surprised if he wags his hand in your face if you debate with him. "You asked me a question, can I answer?" "No, you don't have any good answers."
Tries his best to make the lectures interesting and funny. All of the notes are in powerpoint slides, but the tests are online so you can basically just go back and read them. Tries his best to give you a decent grade and offers a ton of extra credit. Unless you never show up or don't have the notes, you'll pass.
Really smart, obviously knows his stuff. Can be a REALLY harsh critic, but it is for our benefit. He's NOT a harsh grader necessarily, despite his criticism. Grade is mostly group projects, and choose a group that's willing to put in effort. There are some tests, based a lot on what he says in class, so pay attention.
DO NOT LIKE HIM AT ALL. This class is a complete waste of time - he lectures more about relationship advice than he does about the actual topic. Did not help at all when I asked questions about the test. Poor professor overall.
The class isn't too hard especially since you have access to either your text book or a partner/group for every exam. The lectures are very painful but he lets you know whenever he is about to say something that will appear on the exam which is helpful.
He loves to hear himself talk. His occasional pop quizzes are his way of getting you to listen to him too. He's a somewhat entertaining lecturer, but going to class is still a chore. The exams are online and are the easiest tests I've taken at USC. Half the answers are online and the other half are in the book.
The tests aren't the easiest. Lectures are painfully long and boring at times. Overall he is a really nice guy and if you need help just talk to him. Attendance isn't mandatory but he does give pop quizzes about once a week. I would take him again!
This class was painful to sit through, but the tests weren't that bad. The first one was online, the second was online with a partner, and the third was an in-class group test. He gives pop quizzes a lot, so you have to show up to class. Oh, and he likes to bring in speakers about capitalism causing genocide- have fun with that one.
Tests are online but super hard!!!! You don't learn a lot in the lectures and they are kinda boring, but because the class is so huge he doesn't take attendance. He gives quizzes on blackboard at the end of class but gives you the answer so if you have a friend in the class you can get 100's on all the quizzes. He's a cool guy, kinda different.
Loves to hear himself talk. Not half as smart as he thinks he is and veers off topic to tell horribly boring stories that have no relation to any topic in class. Avoid
One of the rudest professors I have had USC, he is also always making sexist remarks. Majority of the lecture is him telling random stories about food or celebrities, the lectures do not help with the tests nearly at all. Sitting through this class is extremely difficult, would not take again.
Not as easy of an A as i was hoping... the lectures are completely pointless and the tests aren't that easy
Demouy is a interesting man. He claims to be helpful, but makes fun of kids in class that ask for help and claims to be accepting, but makes sexist and demeaning statements throughout class. I feel like his class is a Trump rally, as he won certain people over by the end, but some of us where not amused. He also thinks he's hilarious. (He so isn't)
I have just completed this class in the summer. A lot of work. Do not enrol in another class in the summer if you have to take this professor. Group project through out. If you get slackers they drail you along the way with a bad grade. He does allow people to switch around after many complaints.
The worst professor I've had in my college career. I took him as a Maymester and it was clear his only objective was to hand pick student to join his case competition team. He assigned an impossible amount of speeches and gave no criteria for how he graded, just gave grades on a whim. Extremely degrading, harsh, and ambiguous. DO NOT TAKE HIM
Love Professor Demouy. He is funny and can keep a lecture hall engaged. Most lectures are great, some are boring. He tells you exactly what you need to know on the exams. The pop quizzes are just taken to give attendance/participation points. Go to class and you'll do fine
He is the most pretentious man I have ever met. His lectures are just him rambling about things he has read about and the entire class is just him trying to get people for his case competitions. He is degrading and downright rude. If you have to take him just suck up a little bit. He goes way easier on his favorites. Another reason he sucks.
Demouy makes Management an easy class to sit through. Although his lectures are purely him reading off the powerpoint they are still good to go to because he gives surprise quizzes. You will make a 100 on the quiz if you listen. They are mainly to reward people in class. Two tests are open note, open book. Last is with a group. Not a hard class.
He is a really cool guy, but since the class is almost 500 people, a lot of people don't interact with him.
Phenomenal lectures, show up! Tests are online (open book, notes), usually done with partner. Super easy in-class quizzes on BB make up a decent % of your grade. Lets you out early, optional final. KNOWS his stuff, has a way of explaining concepts that helps you understand the reasoning for why things should be done a certain way. Best I've had yet
2 of the 3 tests are online and 1 in class with a partner. Gives surprise quizzes in class to take attendance but the questions are super easy and end up helping your grade a lot. Gives curves on tests, no homework, overall painless.
I learned more from his own personal examples than the textbook material. Random in-class 2-question pop quizzes to make sure you're paying attention. If you get one wrong answer, he will call you out in front of the class to see him afterwards! Two open book tests are timed, one in class alone or w/group , so study first. Optional final.
He's not as bad as people rate him, but he isn't great. Class is a little boring
You don't need the text book for this class. He doesn't take attendance, but he does do the occasional pop quiz. He is very lenient about your final grade and what is consider an A. He also puts all the notes up on blackboard.
First two exams online, then one in class but don't let them being online fool you. You need to study a little. You can tell he wants to help you get a good grade. Does 10 pop quizzes throughout semester for attendance and it's 15% of your grade so really not too bad, plus sometimes tells you when he's going to have one. Nice guy who knows a lot
Doesn't take attendance, but gives pop quizzes to reward you for being in class. If you're not in class, you get a 0 on them, if you are in class, he gives you a 100 no matter what you scored. You need to study for his tests in order to do well. Lectures are quite interesting. Other than that, it's not really a hard class
In terms of the course's material, I thought the textbook had slightly better explanations than him and his slides (though they are fine), but his examples of real-world applications were far superior to the ones in the text most of the time. Not a bad guy at all. It wasn't the most interesting class I've taken, but I got something out of it.
I personally LOVED this professor. I took his honors section and the class is not the traditional lecture style. We discussed current events/issues constantly and projects are centered around the discussions. Pick a good group and you'll be fine. He comes off as abrasive but he's just blunt.
He's more of personal life coach. I learned more about being a good person in his class than the actual material but he usually connects it. Make sure to show up tho he gives pop quizzes for attendance 15% of your grade. Make friends in the class and u can work on them together and get an easy A. The tests are easy just look up the questions.
You don't need to go to class. You can take the attendance quizzes from your home on Blackboard. You can learn all the material from the textbook and/or online Powerpoint slides. The hardest part will easily be the final. The other tests are online and curved. His lectures are repetitive and I mean that literally in the way he speaks. It's grating.
As long as you show up, you will pass. Pop quizes count as 20 pts each so try not to skip classes. Probably the easiest class to take. And dont waste your money on a textbook, just take notes and pay attention. Easy A
If you show up you will pass this class! He dose give the occasional pop quiz so I would find and friend and rotate who goes. All the exams are online, except for one in class one and the final exam. Test answers can usually be found online.
Professor Demouy is an excellent MGMT teacher in that he makes you think creatively and in depth about company/product management strategies. One of the best professors with knowledge, can come off as a "know it all" because of how much he knows, but is also a good thing. Lectures lure you in to listen throughout. Be aware of his critiquing.
Awesome professor! If you're nice to him he'll be nice to you. Attendance not taken, but show up anyway his lectures are great with use of real life examples. Pop quizzes are easy if you show up. 2 tests online and 1 test in-class. Study the material, it will help you. Book not necessary to buy because the notes are rich with information. Take him!
3 tests. 2 online tests. 1 Group test. Optional Final. Pop in-class quizzes. Says everything that will be on the test and quizzes. Funny lectures.
Professor Demouy's MGMT 478 class was the only class I have taken throughout college where what I learned was applicable to future jobs. He comes off as a know it all but it is because he doesn't accept sub par work. Do your best on the few assignments he gives and you will get a good grade in the class.
The syllabus said we would have two multiple choice tests. LOL. These "tests" were group case studies. There were also pop presentations. I only know of one person who got anything more than a 90 on any assignment. The only independent assignments were 2 on minute presentations. Feedback was only negative and given in front of the entire class.
Demouy is a really cool guy. He's funny and real, not uptight, which is nice because he makes the lectures enjoyable. He doesn't take attendance, but he does give random quizzes every now and then for points. Tests have a lot of questions, but you can usually use your book and/or work with a group of people. I highly recommend him!
Attendance is optional (but they're are occasional attendance quizzes so you have to show up often enough to take them). Multiple tests but one is online, one is online with partner, and one is group test so they are not hard to do well on. No homework and you don't need book.
Awesome professor!! Really funny guy and makes the lectures interesting. One of the best professors I've had at this school! Definitely recommend taking.
The lectures are really long, but Patrick is really relaxed and funny so they are tolerable. The last two tests can be taken in groups. Attendance is optional but there are occasional in-class quizzes to make sure people are coming to class. Other than the tests and quizzes, there are no other assignments.
Professor Demouy is awesome in big lectures. He tries to make the class useful for any major and seems very personable. However, one-on-one he isn't great- he's short, snippy and kind of condescending. Make sure you do REALLY well on the first 3 tests. Go to class, do all of the quizzes and every extra credit opportunity. An 89 is an A.
A wonderful class that makes you want to attend. I learned a lot of really valuable information in this class and really enjoyed his occasional rants and life lessons. Unfortunately there are a lot of random quizzes and I unluckily skipped the days we happened to have them. No attendance policy but it will definitely hurt your grade to miss.
I didn't enjoy this class but it was super easy. He gives random pop quizzes that will start to bring your grade down a good bit if you miss too many. He talks a lot but the class is easy.
This class is extremely entertaining and informative and Demouy usually let the lecture out 30 minutes early. He does randomly give out quizzes that count for 2 percent of your grade each but if you show up to class you should get a 100 on all the quizzes. Tests are actually pretty hard for being online but you'll be fine if you just go to class.
Get ready to have your feelings hurt, because he is very direct with his comments. No guidelines. No rubric. Presentation is your main grade just don't do the things he does not like and your grade will be higher than your last one. Good luck.
The only reason I did not drop this class immediately after the first day was because nothing else worked in my schedule. Demouy is smart and knows what he is talking about, but he uses against students and makes you feel dumb for saying something wrong. Very rude with comments on presentations, but actually does grade somewhat easy.
Professor Demouy is clearly knowledgable, but he is constantly rude to the class. If you ask a question, good luck getting an answer that isn't snarky . Yes, this class is an easy A, but be prepared to leave his class feeling insulted 50% of the time. Also, he gives lots of pop quizzes that are worth 30 points each as a way to take attendance.
Easy A; first 2 exams are online; 3rd is in class taken with a group of 5 people; gives a few quizzes in class to take attendance but they're very easy
It will be your most boring class. The exams are slightly challenging, but manageable. The quizzes are pop quizzes and are super easy but it makes it so you have to show up for class. Only grades are quizzes and tests which kind of sucks, dont get the text book waste of money imo. I never paid attention so idk if I'm good to take advice from.
If you go to class and pay attention the Exams are very easy. He does give random pop quizzes in class that will make up 15% of your grade so you definitely need to go to class. But overall the class is not difficult at all
This class should be an easy A, but you have to work for it. Gives pop quizzes for attendance, so try your best to show up to every class. Boring lectures, but clearly knowledgeable about the subject. The grade is made up of 3 tests, and pop quizzes. Final is optional. Ding ding, ding ding, ding ding.
Demouy thinks he is hilarious and he really isn't. The class is super boring and he goes off on weird tangents. If you put in the effort and pay attention you'll do fine but you can't screw around and expect an A. I would recommend getting the text book because his lectures are pointless. But he gives quizzes in class so you should go for those.
Funny, knowledgeable, 3 tests (2 online, 1 group), quizzes in class which are easy, 89.01 is an A, textbook isn't necessary to pass but it helped me out, extra credit opportunity, final is optional, if you put in some effort you can get an an A/B+
Legend material. Tests were online so its pretty relaxed; lectures are honestly pretty interesting. 10/10 would recommend to a friend.
Honestly the worst professor I've had, its almost as if he'd rather his class fail. Also his lectures are unbearably boring.
Your only grades in this class are pop-quizzes and exams. Don't try and use quizlet or any other resources on the online exams because the office of academic integrity will find out. Lectures are boring and the powerpoints don't make sense. Exams are super difficult.
The exams are way too hard for what this class is and they're even online. Plus, don't think about trying to look the answers up (You won't find them and you'll get in trouble). However, class does get canceled a lot for you to take the exams which is super nice. As a professor, he can be pretty sarcastic and will call people out.
Class seems easy on the outside, 2 online tests and one in-class team test with an optional exam, yet, online tests are not easy and cheating is monitored heavily. He is rude in office hours and does not care if you come to him for help. Boring, monotonous lectures and ridiculous steak analogies constantly.
He sucks. Lectures are boring and never actually relate to class. He won't bump you up even if you truly show that you worked hard in his class. He tries to be funny but is rude. Overall don't take him unless you have too..
Love his teaching style (some may not)! He taught me case comp strategies I could start using immediately for cases & consulting. He's awesome!
So funny and dorky. Honestly loved his classes, he always repeats stuff so if you aren't fully focused you hear what you need to hear. Just pay attention.
SUPER boring lectures, doesn't grad unless its quizzes and exams so if thats not your forte definitely stay away. its important info but such a hard class. Demouy doesn't try to help what so ever. STAY AWAY
He is pretentious, arrogant, and disrespectful. He belittles students the entire class. All he does for class is talk about random topics that do not have any importance. The entire class is basically graded on group presentations and he will find anyway he can to point out flaws in the presentations and make you seem wrong.
He's all over the place and it's kinda hard to figure out what's important and what isn't. You have to do three presentations and then there's like two "tests" that are actually case analysis things. Everything can be done in groups. Kinda a weird class. Should've been an easy A but he made it so it wasn't
Honestly one of the worst professors I've ever had to deal with. His lectures are useless. You just have to know the material beforehand because neither his lectures or notes really give you any useful information about what could be on the exam or quizzes. You are given little time to answer questions.
Didn't feel like he cared about the class. Showed up late a quarter of the time and let us off early half the time. None of that's bad, per se, but it just made it very up to you to learn a gen ed that's not super interesting in the first place. Screwed us over by not realizing he had to give 3 exams, making the once-optional final mandatory.
There are three exams that make up 90% of your grade. The rest is pop quizzes. Prof. Demouy is truly a gem, he curves exams and attempts to be personable with his students. Exams are curved and tests are fairly straightforward and aren't proctored.
Demouy is great if you just want to slack off. However I felt like his lectures went off topic many times and that I learned more from reading the textbook.
I took this class completely online (that was the only option) and Professor Demouy makes this class way harder than it needed to be for non-business majors. The quizzes are simple but the exams are nothing like what we learn in class. He takes forever to respond to emails. The class is not terrible but I do not recommend taking it with him.
Rambles during class and rants. Super rude to students. During the pandemic, did not wear a mask and did not require students to wear a mask. Good luck knowing what to do during the class. He grades projects very subjectively (if he has a bad day, you don't do well) and his class has no structure.
he is great, super sweet guy. would 100% take again. He gives kind of random quizzes as attendance but lectures are fine so its not bad.
Dr. Demouy cares about his students greatly. The quizzes he gives are easy A's as long as you show up to the lectures, and he occasionally goes off on tangents during lectures but they connect management qualities to everyday lifestyles. Great person, and an overall great professor.
Professor Demouy is extremely rude & disrespectful to students. He does not respond to emails within a reasonable amount of time or at all, doesnt follow the schedule for the class, does not give grades in a timely manner, and does not give actual feedback on assignments. Worst professor and class Ive ever taken. 10/10 would not recommend.
This dude is the goat. Gave relationship, cooking, and liver advice during class. Did I learn anything about Management, nope, but I learned a lot of really funny things and still did well in the class.
Super nice guy. Plenty to teach about business relations, management, and how to cook a steak. Uses metaphors and stories to drive in key themes of class. Wacky guy. Would take again :)
Suck up to him. I got screwed for my group projects because he hated my group members. I tried sucking up which is why I got a B+, but we were graded so heavily on group projects and his disdain for my group members really showed. He straight up told me he hated 2 of my group members. What kind of teacher does that?? Interesting guy tho
Professor Demouy is an interesting character. That's all i'll say about his personality. Academic wise, you will definitely need the textbook. Buy the textbook. The exams are long around 2 hours. He takes attendance by doing pop quizzes randomly (not based on what we're learning).
Has the students' best interest at heart, gave the option to download the textbook for free. Emphasizes the need for self respect. Attend lecture so you know what he emphasizes to learn. Grades only by exams (that are really easy if you read the book and attend lecture) and pop quizzes (how he takes attendance). Impossible to fail his class.
Demouy is first a great person, he is a super fun teacher who will teach you his life lessons during class. The class is large so most of it is paying attention while he goes over the powerpoints, which you will have access to. Sometimes lectures can go off track but the powerpoints have all the info so you will be alright. Would take again 100%.
No homework. A few quizzes and 3 exams. Rambles a lot in class about off topic things but cares about his students a lot. Great guy. Class not mandatory but he does pop quizzes that are like 2 questions. He tells great stories.
not your best option for 478. he changes assignments all the time and its very unclear what you'll be graded on . he will stop you mid presentation to critique you on small things. I like him as a person but this class is just a head ache. talks about random topics during class but then assigns you outside lectures to listen to about actual content
Super nice guy and cares about his students. No homework just online tests and some pop quizzes during class time. Rambles a lot but gives life lessons that are interesting. Take him.
You can tell that Prof. Demouy really cares about his students and wants them to succeed. His lectures can feel really long but he does a good job at tying to keep the class engaged. Your grade is very heavy on exams with all of them making up 90%. Exams are also very long. Definitely recommend the textbook.
He provides you with all of the information for all exams. They are all online, and he posts powerpoints on blackboard to review before exam. Easy class, but he takes attendance through quizzes at the end of class and those will effect your grade.
He has no problem belittling his students in front of the whole class. For group projects he posts a rubric and student examples but will critique you based on guidelines not provided in the rubric. Literally forced an international student to put her notes away during group presentation and it was clear she was struggling. Take anyone but him!!!!
DO NOT TAKE THIS WEASEL OF A BOY, dude never responded to his emails and never gave a proper exam it was always handwritten and never made sense to anything discussed in class. Left the country 3 times within a semester and only held class virtual once to talk about how bad the grades were for the first group project. Find someone else.
Honestly, not a fan of Patrick. He NEVER responds to emails, he can't focus on the material during lectures, 3 exams worth 30% each, quizzes are only given during class and they aren't class-related so don't miss class, and he doesn't seem to care much about his student's success. I would never take this class with him again.
The lectures can be boring but the information is beneficial. Grade is mostly based on 3 exams. His power-points are pretty helpful for the exams.
Demouy is an interesting character. There were about 6 assignments for the whole year, with half of them being the 3 exams (worth 90% of grade). The other assignments were pop quizzes at the end of class. They are random and can be about material or music. This class is not very well designed, but is also relatively easy if you give decent effort.
Will cancel class randomly, tells you to read the textbook instead of teaching, does not respond to emails, goes on random tangents, is super hard to follow. Bounces between apathetic and rude towards students, and doesn't seem to care. Class was easy and open note exams, but you learn nothing. Will give random attendance quizzes. Don't recommend.
Listen, all you gotta do is go to class for the pop quizzes which he gives you the answers to and you'll get an A. As long as you do the open note exams and actually give minimal effort you will do just fine. He wont answer your emails though, but other than that this is the easiest business class you'll have.
Demouy doesn't know how to use Blackboard, it seems. His lectures are boring. If you want to actually learn the material, take a different professor. If you want to skate by on the bare minimum, take Patrick. He takes random attendance quizzes, and gives open note exams. I haven't learned anything, which I hate, but it was easy, which I love.
If you truly want to learn the principles of management, I would not advise taking Prof. Demouy. The online section of MGMT371 was largely ignored, he would rarely respond to emails and would open tests / quizzes DAYS after he said he would. Not tech savvy in the slightest, and it is clear the course was not adapted for synch. Fairly easy class.
I don't think I learned anything in this class tbh. Random quizzes, doesn't use class time well, random tangents, inaccessible outside class -- you name it. Total waste of time, only here for the credit. Learning how to manage people is a life skill, not something worth studying at such a basic level.
demouy is the worst teacher/professor i have ever had. do not take a class with him if you can help it. you are graded off of random pop quizzes for attendance and 3 tests (which none of the material is covered in class) he does not respond nicely/quickly to emails and is not helpful when he actually does. take MGMT-371 with literally anyone else.
Throughout the whole semester, I feel like I did not learn one thing out of this class. Demouy does not really follow the calendar set in his syllabus which makes for a terrible experience if you like having set dates. Also incredibly difficult to reach outside of class. The class does not provide much value at all and the professor did not help.
Very great guy. He kinda gets lost in the lectures and is random. It was difficult to follow and even I have ADHD. He does know what he's talking about; he is very intelligent. However, he is not the best at getting his point across. Attendance is not mandatory, but there are pop quizzes based on the lectures.
His lectures are pretty interesting, but I think I learned more about farming than I did strategic management. He seems to lecture about whatever is on his mind on the given day. He also never answered a single email I sent him. Would not recommend taking him if you enjoy a structured class experience.
Demouy was fine. Lectures usually went all over the place in terms of the topic but they were usually interesting enough. The actual material he was supposed to cover was real boring so the rambling was a nice change in page. Most important thing is to take a lot of notes. Exams are open note but pretty difficult without good notes.
Someone said he was a weasel of a man. They described it better than I could. Horrible person, unclear grading criteria, doesn't respond to emails, a new presentation due every week, shows up late to every class and will hold you late. Do not take this man-child.
DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS, he missed around 50% of the classes, most of the time without notice, and still attendance was mandatory, the quizzes and reading assignments are not about management, I managed to get more than 90 in the 3 exams and barely got a B-. Avoid him at all costs
Probably the worst professor I have had yet. All he talks about is cooking, his dog, and volcanoes. I don't think I learned a single thing in his class. He gives pop quizzes as attendance that count heavily on your grade. Whether you plan on learning anything or not in MGMT 371, take another professor and don't waste your time with Demouy.
DO NOT TAKE HIM!! Demouy talks about the most random things in a management class and his lectures. He is super hard to follow and inconsistent with how he lectures. This is already a filler class that many business majors and SPTE majors have to take and it is made worse by having this guy as your professor.
JUST DO NOT TAKE HIM.
He is late all the time and never be clear on anything. There is a huge difference between bad communication and never response. This guy is the kind of professor who never responds to your email. Generally, the class is easy but this man makes it harder than it has to be. I'm so glad I'm passed.
Do not take this class. Never responds to emails. Gives quizzes in class regularly if you do take it. Off topic conversation 90% of the time. Just overall not a good professor.
Rambles on about nothing for an hour and 1/2. makes you buy the textbook which you DO NOT need. requires attendance with random quizzes that tank your grade. just don't do it
Lectures are often not very useful as he rambles on about nonsense for most of the time. Often late to class or cancels it. Tells you to buy the textbook but you don't need it at all. All tests are online and are easy without needing to study. No homework. Seemingly a useless class. Pop quizzes in class for points but are easy 2 random questions.
Just don't take him. For any class. unless you want to learn about science
You just don't learn anything from him. This class is an easy A tho.
Demouy is super funny, but you won't learn anything in his class. He often rambles or cancels class randomly. Exams are open for 3 days and are open web. He tells you to buy the textbook however I did not use it once the entire course. Attendance isn't mandatory but he does random quizzes so I would attend each one.
Interesting guy, but not a good professor. Rambles off about different topics each class period (Oprah, electric cars, food) that have nothing to do with the actual content being covered, but he tries to loosely relate it anyways. Presentation grades are based off of what HE thinks is right, not based on the actual content or delivery. Stay away.
If you want to learn mgmt, dont take it with him. Never posts exams on time (sometimes a day later), and you only have a few hours to do the exam. Preaches showing up early but is always late to class. Goes on rants about cooking, but will give you quizzes in class so you have to go. Always cancels class as well. Easy grade, just a horrible prof.
Just do not take him. Comes to class late, is flat out rude to students during class time, and is never on topic. He posts the exams late. Don't bother emailing him during exam week, this past semester he was literally out of the country during one of them. If I could go back and do it again I would not take him.
Don't take him. Coming from someone who went to every class(which isn't saying much b/c half of them were canceling), the best way to get an A is to copy the powerpoints down and use them during your exams. Exams are online and open for 3 days. The class is doable he is just a bad professor tbh. Also, you DON"T need the textbook! Good luck.
not a good professor or person. anyways, i got an 89.4 and didn't round up which i expected, but also didn't give me a B+ like i earned. i think he actually rounded DOWN to a B. never posts any assignments on time but harps on workplace etiquette. super rude and condescending. technically an easy class but at the cost of dealing with his rude self.
Honestly a great class. You can take a nap, have a meal, or watch a movie. I genuinely believe that bro pounds a bottle of Jack before taking the stage. Guy is slurring his words while talking about asking chicks out and eating beans. Lovely professor, would absolutely kill to have a drink with.
Easy A class, but not very engaging. The professor tends to ramble and cancel class often. Exams are open-web, but you'll need to review the slides and textbook on your own. Try using unstuck ai for efficient study prep.
This isn't a class you take if you actually wanna learn anything. He's chill enough and you could literally sit on your phone because what he's saying isn't relevant or helpful half the time. If you want a class to sit and do nothing in, this is the best one. Pop quizzes occasionally and exams are the only grades.
Professor Demouy makes an effort to make his lectures engaging. He does not require attendance but does give periodic quizzes in class. You will get 100% on every quiz if you attend class and pay attention. He also gives 90% of the questions and answers for exams in class.
Demouy has very easy going lectures and rambles about half related things to what he is teaching about most the time. Attendance isn't mandatory but he gives random pop quizzes in class where you get 100% if you go. Exams are online and can utilize some resources to help. He also left and didnt hold class for a month. Wont learn much but it is easy
Went away for 3 weeks of the semester and not fair you pay for that class in full. barely any grades. late to lectures and is rude to students. talks about uncomfortable topics too. DOESNT ANSWER EMAILS. have to go to class because pop quizzes every class. easy A if you go to class do quizzes and exams are open note easy A.
He was ok. Knows the subject but cant get to the point. He was out of the country for like a month. Attendance not mandatory but does pop quizzes which are only grades other than few exams. Not very responsive to emails and has a rude demeanor. I learned enough but would've rather taken it with someone else.
This professor knows his steaks! Highly recommend!
demuoy was actually the guy!!!!! Seemed like he would drink a few beers or maybe take a bowl before every lecture. Would talk about chicks (beast) and how to cook in class and would never really actually teach material. Tests were easy and would take multiple trips a semester to some random country and cancel class for a month. would recommend.
The attendance is not mandatory, however he has pop quizzes that are a decent percentage of your overall grade. Other than the pop quizzes the other 90% of your grade comes from 4 tests. No homework or easy points. He was absent, cancelling class and doesnt ever check his email.
Over the course of the semester, Professor Demouy responded to none of the emails I sent, implied he was penalizing students who were absent working at the Masters tournament, said he gave access to materials only to realize he didn't days later, had an entire class that was an ad for a sales firm, and made fun of multiple students in class.
If you want to learn about management this is the wrong prof to take. He rambles on about things not related to the topic whatsoever... exams are insanely easy but god forbid you have any sort of computer issue. He is rude to talk to and doesn't help much if you're having issues. an easy A if you show up for random quizzes and do good on the exams.
Take him. Exams are open notes and he provides an outline for the first two. He is also hilarious and loves to talk about AI and cooking, which is quite interesting. Just go to class because there are random attendance quizzes. He is a very chill and laid back professor, he designs the course to be easy and straightforward.
I can't understand how this professor still has a job. He constantly rambled about food and travel, made fun of students, showed up late every day, and didn't post promised materials. The tests were 80 repetitive questions and took forever to finish. Overall, a terrible experience. Don't show up to class ever and you'll pass with flying colors.
If you are a management major do not take him. If you just need this credit for a different major and don't care about course material 100% should take. Easy exams that are open note, class is not really mandatory. Exams are very time consuming. Easy A
Do not take a class with this professor. You will learn nothing, and be made fun of if you ask a question in front of over 400 people. It just isn't worth it. USC, let's do better with our professors.
Can't find a good thing to say. He wastes time during class and expects you to listen to hours of actual course lectures on your time. He never followed a syllabus, he often showed up late, most couldn't get him to answer emails, he doesn't answer his office phone. He's very rude, especially when giving feedback. Just awful all around. DO NOT TAKE.
DeMouy showed up to class on time 0 times this semester. He went on multiple week long trips and assigned online lectures and quizzes for Monday/Wednesday only to post them Friday night making them due Sunday. Always hoped he wouldn't call on me to embarrass me like he did to everyone else. "Make certain" you do good on tests because there's only 3
Everyone's being kinda rude lol, he's a super nice guy and has funny stories during class. However, there was lots of confusion throughout the semester as he isn't the most tech savvy. Only 3 exam grades and then a couple of attendance quizzes which are posted randomly. Exams are pretty lengthy, usually 60-80 questions. Not the worst option IMO.
Guy is definitely a yapper but a lot of it connects with what the lecture is on somehow. For an intro class I would take again but no way for a more advanced class. He gives a lot of extra credit also.
This class was a complete mess. The professor never showed up, was unbelievably disorganized, and literally made the exams using ChatGPT (you could tell). Everyone just got handed a B regardless of performance. It felt like a parody of a college course—I've never seen anything like it. Total joke of a professor! Also, don't need the textbooks.
Professor Demouy is a kind person, but his lectures often go off-topic, frequently discussing food or AI. Exams largely determine your grade. He traveled internationally during the semester and never posted lectures on the day he said he would. I emailed him several times this semester but never received a response.
Professor Demouy is a character for sure. It was beyond frustrating trying to get a hold of him; you never know what's going on in that class. Man was NEVER on time, and he wasted our time the entire lecture. Easy A, but plan on going around in circles with this man trying to figure out what the heck is going on.
Worst professor I've EVER had. I showed up to every class 15 minutes early and took notes on everything. He only has two tests before the final so you better get A's on them. He makes automatic wrong questions on the test so that everyone has a lower chance of receiving an A in his pathetic class. First class I've ever got lower than an A in. Awful
DO NOT TAKE THIS PROFESSOR!! DO NOT!!!!! Class time 2:20 - he never showed up before 2:21 in a 500 person class. Absolutely rude to students and just a plain mess with assignments and grading. He makes me want to leave USC.
I've never had a worse professor at USC. I learned nothing about management, despite attending every class. Lectures were confusing and unrelated to the subject. He became rude later in the semester and often embarrassed students. Total waste of tuition.
Interesting guy. Very hard to reach outside of class. Repeats himself A LOT and gets annoying. If other professors are available, take them. Not the best, not the worst though.
Very disrespectful professor he likes to pick on students for not knowing the answer to outrageous questions. Only had 2 tests and 80% of the class failed the final. He doesn't teach what is on exams he just rambles and yells at everyone for being dumb. Asked a girl if she was on “crack cocaine” when she didn't answer an outrages question right.
Just not a good professor at all. USC what are we doing? I can't not recommend him enough. Please don't sign up for his class.
Took this class online and i was very disappointed how unorganized he was. He would say a quiz would be posted on a certain day, and days later it would be posted. We got so far behind the syllabus calendar we are cramming to get all the assignments done because he got us behind, simply because of his lack of planning for us online students.
Not sure why he's still allowed to be a professor. Seems like a generally nice man but NEVER answers emails, doesn't follow through with his schedule & syllabus (affecting grades!!), and is probably the least tech savvy person I have ever encountered. I don't recommend taking his courses.
The best word to describe this instructor is apathetic. Barely any content was posted for this course, there were absolutely no assignments (writing or otherwise) posted besides quizzes and tests, and little effort was put into those quizzes with them being not even 10 questions most of the time and poorly set up in Blackboard.
Only grades were 6 open note quizzes that were usually around 5-10 questions and 3 open note exams. Super easy but didn't learn anything. There were only a few lectures and never any homework. If you need this class for credit, I recommend his class. However, if you're majoring in management, I wouldn't suggest him. He never responds to emails.
I had a bad learning experience, but to say the least super easy course. Graded by few, no homework. I say only take if you want to just get it out the way. No learning but easy A so I can't complain too much.
Lectures based on slides. He makes lots of cooking analogies. Only 2 exams plus the final, worth 30% of your grade each. He also gives pop quizzes for attendance. Not all of the material is covered in class so you'll need to review the textbook and outlines. His teaching style took some getting used to, but overall good.
This professor is horrible for an online class. He does not follow the schedule, posts quizzes/exams over the weekend and are due during that weekend. Only puts out recordings over slideshows and they are long and BORING. Cannot click back in quizzes/exams (exams are 65-90 questions each), and he randomly started using Lockdown Browser unwarned.
Never follows a schedule; he has changed the final exam time multiple times and rather change it for a few people than the whole class. All semester it was on lockdown, but since people complained about the two-hour time slot it was changed to lockdown. Whatever, fine its easy we can have notes. NO! he changes the times 3 more times bc of conflicts
I really don't have the energy to be typing this out because i just took 20+ pages of notes from his boring lectures for the final because he randomly decided to use lockdown for the last exam, not mentioned in the syllabus at all. Also his scheduling and announcements are awful. The time limits for quizzes and exams are so random, makes no sense.
Dear Darla Moore School of Business This is the 2nd course I have taken for my Business Administration minor, and made me want to drop the program. The fact that this professor is allowed to teach is extremely disappointing, and I have nothing good to say about him. As a straight-A STEM major, this class resulted in my lowest grade yet in college
Was a super easy online class until the final. Weighted purely on a few quizzes and 3 exams. The exams were fully open notes/book until the final, where he randomly decided to make it a lockdown exam and take down the online presentations right before it went live. Not to mention the final was unnecessarily difficult and confusing.
Don't take his online classes, simple as that. I think bro is just confused about how blackboard works and he says things will be posted certain dates and doesn't post them. There wasn't a lot graded, and the slideshows were not super informative.
The class overall is not super difficult but Demouy makes it more difficult than it needs to be. There is no set schedule and he randomly would announce an exam for the next day. I would get anxious that I missed an assignment because of his lack of communication. Overall, not a BAD professor but if you have to take him, just be on top of notifs
