Mr. Egan is a very good professor. It is a very interesting class. I recommend everyone to take this class.

Egan is easy to get along with. There are a lot of readings, but it's to be expected. Vocabulary quizzes were given. Quite a few essays b/c more practice means your writing improves. There was one novel critique and one research paper. Overall a fair grader and even humorous at times. NO excuses, so if you do the work then you get the grade.

He's a nice person, but TOO MUCH HW to do, I felt like I was little kid having to spend all the time reading the stories, poems and analysis them. Oh and the pop quiz!!! that was 4 years ago already..i still remember him. Nice guy.

Very funny character. He's a cool guy and an equally composed professor. He's interested in helping students learn and treats people like adults. No messing around in this class b/c there's a messload of homework. If you're a good writer though, you have nothing to worry about.

He is an incredible teacher. Very clear and takes time to answer any question completely. He even set aside time to discuss my major with me(English)for about an hour. He is funny and down to earth.

Class was fun, interesting, and educational. Gives lots of HW in terms of journal assignments. You'll be writting almost everyday for the class(essay, journals,research) but its expected. Work hard on your papers and you'll do well. He lets you rewrite essays for better grades if you need it improve. He cares about effort and quality of work.

wow i love Egan. He was the best teacher i have ever had. I took sat morning class just to be in his class. (i am not a morning person) He is the best. I have recomended him to all of my friends. He is very caring, understanding, fun, funny, inteligent he is everything that you hope that a teacher would be and more. Do yourself a favor take him. :)

honest opinion. not a great english teacher, but easy grader,, lot of work but as long as you do evrything he requires and show that ur trying, easy A, i got a B cuz i never went to class and barelly did my hw.

Mr. Patrick Egan is one of the best, supportive, excellent professors in English Dept.. I am encouraging future English 101 students to enroll under Mr. Egan's class because he inspires you to study, he helps students move on to their career and goals in life. Mr. Egan is one of the best professors I have hed. He might be giving a llittle too much hw but that's how you learn to be a good writer, right? I have been recomending him to everybody who has to take english 101. I got an A in his class but you have to put some effort in his class if you wonna get an A.

This teacher was pretty cool. He can be strict at times (especially about having your cell phone in class!). He gives a lot of homework but its super easy. the in class essays and quizes are not hard at all. he is very clear and likes to talk a lot...is strict about formatting of at home essays..doesnt like 5 parag. ones. but overall hes great

It's true that he has a lot of readings and vocabularies.. 3 take home essays and 4 in class essays.. plus an easy final exam.. If you're lazy and don't wanna do the readings.. etc.. .. well then, don't go to college!! But Mr. Egan is an easy grader!!! Just do what he requires you to do and you'll get an easy A!

Mr. Egan is the sweetest teacher I've ever had...he likes students with good imagination and he likes class participation. He is big on attendance but he is pretty flexible. Try not to get behind on homework because there are lots of reading materials and essays and research paper but you will enjoy his class.

Prof.Egan=Best and easiest engl 101 teachers out there.There are 4 essays in class usually picks topics from txtbook. 3 in home essay 1 leterary critique and 1 research paper.Finals is 50% vocabs and oder half essay. EXTREMELY EASY A.I am an ESL student but i managed to get A easily so imagine how easy and awesome he is.Highly recommend!!!!!

Easy? Are you kidding me?! He is not an easy teacher at all. Lots of things to do. You have to manage to do all of the homework, reading, in class, take home essays, literally critique and vocab test as well as an final essay test. OMG!! But he is a cool guy. I got an A anyways, but it's not for lazy people. YOU have to keep track of everything.

One of the most educated proffessors I've had. He represents all a professor should be --- helpful, interesting, EDUCATED... The downside is that you'll have to work if you want to get an A. There are 3 or 4 essays to write; for each you have 2 weeks, 1 literary critique; 3 weeks, and one research paper; due on the last day. And the Final...

this man could seriously care less about his students. he is very rude and really seems to hate the fact that he's a teacher.he his a smart man but talks alot and repeats alot of what he says.. this class is not easy in any sense of the word.if i didnt have to be in the class i would be nowhere near it!

You'll love Professor Egan by the end of the semester! Yes, you're in college so you can't and shouldn't be lazy. The syllabus looks overwhelming at a glance, but the work itself is easy. Any student who cares to try and put effort into their work will receive an A in this class. Awesome professor and class.

I think he dumbs down the material because so many students are from an ESL background. You'll get an A if you can string a sentence together. He's also very liberal about your essay topics and lets you explore your own style of writing.

I took him Spring 2010 and he was fantastic. I got yelled at once for not turning my phone off so make sure you turn it off before you walk in. His assignments are challenging but they help you think outside the box. I would recommend him to anyone

I loved this English class! He does make you read a lot of story, but he does it with purpose. He uses them as references to help his student in the in-class essays. He requires you to learn A LOT of vocab words! Overall he was awesome, always to the time out to individually help everyone.

EASIESTTTTT A ever. all he does for hw is reading short stories, then u answer questions and do vocab. u do a couple essays and a couple in class ones and a research paper. thats basically it.. so if you want a super easy A, take him. he's a cool funny guy too. JUST AWESOME

GREAT TEACHER!! I would recommen anyone to take his class. He gives you the knowledge and opportunities to learn and get better. I thorooughly enjoyed his class. The reading is tedious but VERY interesting. I recommend to do it every week and learn your vocab. Just try your best and you will do well.

Probably the easiest and best English teacher I've had in years. If you love writing, you will absolutely love this class. The in-class essay's were cake, and the take home assignments were fairly easy as well. The only thing that will get you is if you don't do the journal. I recommend him to all my friends, an absolute gem of a teacher.

He is a great professor, knows his stuff and knows how to explain everything. Semi hard grader but it helps you improve your writing which is extremely helpful in the end. Don't let the vocabulary test scare you cause I'm telling you once you take the final you realize it was the easiest English final you have taken. Definitely recommended.

By far the easiest english class i have ever taken! He give a lot of busy work, but his essays are all easy and he lets you pick your own topics. He dumbs the class down A LOT because of the ESL students so he grades very easily. Highly recommend him!

If you want to become a formal writer, learn new words, improve your creative thinking skills and study hard, then you should take his class. Very helpful teacher. Assignments are clear and mandatory. It is important to participate during the class. You won't be disappointed. I'm glad I took his class. One of the best teachers that I've ever had.

Very funny, nice guy but does not give A's very easily. He'd rather give a B+++ than an A. Not an easy class, have to read a lot, essays every week. Only good thing is he always lets you pick the topic for each essay. Make sure to start learning the tons of vocab in each reading because trust me there is A LOT! and it's whats on the final.

Professor Egan is tough on grading. Essays were constant but possible to complete in time given. Although it is a demanding class, with all the vocabulary required and research paper on top of the in-class and take home essays, Professor Egan wants his students to learn. He is very encouraging. I enjoyed his class!!!

Mandatory 10pg argumentative research paper. Final is a vocab test on 50 random words (out of the 200 in the textbook) & an essay prompt. Essays every other week, 2-3pgs. Weekly quizzes on the readings. Not an easy class but he tells you exactly what he wants for every assignment. He has funny sense of humor & always answered my questions.

When he assigns reading assignments, make sure you read & MAKE FLASH CARDS FOR ALL THE VOCAB WORDS as soon as you're done! Don't wait for the last 2 days before the final like I did. Such an easy assignment but such a big mistake. He doesn't give A's on essays often, but if you do assigned readings (easy!) and study vocab you'll be fine.

He was probably the best professor I've had in all of my GCC career. He was not only helpful, but if you did poorly on his essays he would have you come back to him so he can give you as many chances as it takes to get an A on them. He cracks jokes once in a while and goes off topic a lot, but its not so bad!

Pat is great. Lectures were usually very interesting. Barely did any of the reading and did fine. Three tests total. As long as you attend class and recitation, tests aren't too bad, although many students had trouble finishing before time was up because there was a lot of material. He gives occasional "pop quizzes" just to check attendance.

I dont know how he could do it but my writing became much better after his class. He is a very rational, intelligent and sharp person. I enjoyed his classes. I looked forward towards English class and it was on a Saturday. Take the time to put in the effort and Im sure you will do great in the class. There was never a class where I didnt leave without laughing or learning something. I wish all of the English Professors Ive had were like him! Its a bonus if you have an interest in Shakespeare! Prof Egan is not complicated at all. He is very considerate. He is the BEST!

He is a very caring and funny professor. Take him during Fall or Spring. It will be worth it. He is funny on Zoom sometimes. However, do not take him if you are busy on Saturdays, and can't handle 4 hours of Zoom.

Great professor, although sometimes he can be a bit harsh. He will grade you down by a grade or more just for 1 mistake. But if you meet all of his requirements and participate in class, you'll get an easy A.
