Patrick is the best math teacher I've ever had and I'm not kidding! He explains problems very well and if you don't understand something, he will make it crystal clear for you during his office hours. He's very approachable and nice, his lectures are engaging and not boring. I highly recommend him!

He is a great math teacher! He gives a lot of examples during class and never puts anything he didn't teach on tests. He is very clear and willing to answer all of his students' questions. Some homework in the form of worksheets (not graded) and online problems (graded). Quizzes, tests, and homework due on Fridays. I will be taking him again.

Patrick is a fantastic professor who really wants you to understand the calculus. He's always there to help you and with a good amount of effort, you should earn a good grade. He gives short weekly quizzes at the end of class on the material covered earlier that week, as well as homework assignments due at the end of the week.

Best math professor I've ever had! He pretty much invites you to his office hours for extra help, and has no problem answering questions, and offers additional help during class time. Schedule is very organized with a quiz every Friday, HW due at 11:59 pm (online), and tests he makes sure you're prepared for. Best math teacher at Normandale!!!!

Patrick is amazing! He is clear with what he expects from his students, he makes funny comments randomly, and he is very respectful to his students. When you ask a question, he will always answer clearly. You should expect a good amount of homework and weekly quizzes, but it is definitely worth it considering how wonderful of a teacher he is.

Patrick is a wonderful professor. He is extremely helpful and quickly responds to questions on the online homework and emails. His lectures are clear and if you're paying attention, you know what he expects from you. Of course it's a math class, so there's a fair amount of homework, but it's easy to get 100% on it since you can try infinitely.

Made everything very clear and easy to understand. Best math teacher i've ever had! It is a math class so there's fair amount of work involved, but he gives you great examples to work off of. You need to show up and you will do well. He's always open for one on one and asks at the end of each class if you need anything clarified to come see him.

I love math so maybe that's why I enjoyed this class so much. The professor is really helpful and is super quick to answer his emails and any questions you have. He was really patient and nice to everyone and was great at explaining the topics in a way that everyone understood it.

If you have a problem, be sure he will do anything he can to help clear it up. Homework is usually due every Friday at midnight, and a weekly quiz is given on the stuff you learned that week. You won't regret it!

Patrick is a fantastic teacher. He is more than patient with you when you have a hard time understanding and is more than willing to help. His quizzes (weekly) are fairly similar to the exams. The only thing I recommend if math isn't your strong suit is to actually do the homework. IT WILL MAKE A DIFFERENCE!

He's a really good teacher for teaching the class with good details that student should understand. The only catch is that if you miss a class, you'll have to read the section on your own because he doesn't post any notes on d2l. If you're on time for class and prepare your notes and homework, then you should do well on exams and quizzes.

Patrick is a great professor. He teaches the topics in a way the everyone should be able to understand. He is very helpful and gives great feedback. If you struggle with math then take him. He doesn't require a book and is straight forward about his topics.

I've had the privilege of having a lot of great math teachers during my time as a PSEO student but man oh man was this guy great! Taught things in a very clear and organized manner and was always willing to help when I needed it. I guess the only real complaint I have was that at times the online homework was excessively hard. Highly recommend!!!

such a good teacher! he speaks clearly, he explains questions and he's always available outside of class. you can email him if you need help on hw or tests and he's really easy to talk to. definitely not an "easy" grader, you have to put in the work which is actually really nice! overall, if you're willing to put in the work, he'll meet you halfway

He's a super nice teacher. I took pre-college math with him and he kept track of how my performance was doing and he helped me on any problems I had trouble with. I had another friend who took him who said that he lets you redo homework assignments in other classses. Patrick is a safe bet to get a good grade.

Patrick was an amazing calculus teacher. His lectures are very important to get to, but attendance is not mandatory. Every lesson is extremely easy to follow. 1 quiz at the end of the week, and they aren't too difficult. Tests are also not hard if you do the homework and study the in class handouts. Awesome class, a must take.

Greatest teacher I have ever had. He is able to cover A TON of material throughout the semester but makes learning it very easy and even enjoyable. What he is so good at is teaching students to UNDERSTAND what they are learning, instead of MEMORIZING formulas. Do homework until you get 100%, and use homework as a review for weekly quizzes.

Very easy to understand, makes things clear in the lecture and goes over any problems asked for. Lots of office hours for extra help too. I'm not too strong in math and he made the class a lot better for me. Go to class though since the lectures cover how to do the problems.

Loved this class and the teacher. There are homework assignments every week but you get an entire week to do an assignment that shouldn't take you more than an hour or two. Somewhat of a test heavy class in that they count for the majority of your grade.

Fantastic prof. so easy to follow, breaks things down clearly moves through all the steps. Tests are no surprise and he is a fair grader. A tiny homework heavy but you get unlimited tries to get 100% so there's no reason to not get an A on all the homework. Really kind, funny guy, wants you to succeed.

I took calc 1 with Fingerson and I really enjoyed his lectures. He clearly explained everything and answered every question in detail. I was easily able to understand the material which made the class a breeze.

Excellent lectures. The way that all subjects are introduced and build upon each other took me from almost failing the course with another teacher to being able to fully understand what was being taught. Patrick is also very patient, and takes time to see that students actually understand the material by answering questions fully & in office hours.

Very concise and easy to understand. He will always help you understand the material. If you take his Calc1, DON'T buy the whole textbook. He doesn't really use it and the online textbook is more than good for what you need it for. He used the online source "Webassign" for homework assignments and gives unlimited tries to get the right answer.

Fingerson is the best professor for any math related questions. He knows what he is teaches and he is always available for questions. He clearly explains everything and the class is very doable. He is very good at clarifying and answering questions and he is a very good person. I would change y schedule just to be in a math class with him again!

Best teacher I've ever had! I took Pre Calc,and I would've chose him for Calc 1 but it didn't fit my schedule. Tips: -he takes of 25% on late homework (assigned weekly and can range from 30-50 Q's) -Quiz every week -His office hours are very convenient -drops 2/3 lowest quizzes at the end of the semester -personally, I never used the textbook.

Mr. Fingerson is the best math instructor I've ever had! He is incredible! I learned a lot from his class, and it was one of the easiest class. He had explained everything very clear. Before each test there is a very good review of chapters. I HIGHLY recommend this professor who knows his subject! He is professional in what he is doing!

AMAZING professor! He does give out a lot of homework with at least 30 questions every week, but that might have been because it was a summer class. He went slow and made sure people understood and answered any questions even if it wasn't relevant. Would do review days and you can ask any questions and if it's off the homework he will do it with u.

Math isnt my favorite, but the way he teaches makes you WANT to learn Calculus. I never even had to YouTube the material since he was so clear. Great at including students input to his teaching lectures. All classes were recorded and uploaded promtly. Lots of office hours and quick to respond to emails. Able to do late portion of hmwk for 75%.

I had Patrick as my professor for Calc 1 and 3, and I wished I had taken his pre-calc class earlier. He transitioned very well to online courses. Very passionate about teaching and helpful to all students. No surprise quizzes or tests, he will let you know ahead of time. Textbook is completely optional, most other students didn't even open it.

Patrick is the best professor I have ever had! This by no means is an easy course, but if you are a hard worker, you will pass this class. This course is really homework-heavy and test-heavy. Start homework early because there is a lot of it. Always 2 part exams, computational and abstract. Office hours are where he works one-on-one with you.

I really really like Patrick as a professor. I love math in general, so I can be a bit biased towards math professors, but Patrick made Calc 3 very approachable. I would highly recommended this professor for anything from high-level math classes to entry-level courses.

Calculus is a hard class to begin with, but he made it easier to understand if you aren't the best at math (or if you're already good at it!) This is by far the best math teacher that I have had at normandale. Fingerson is arguably one of the best professors at Normandale. If you can take hom for any class, please do. His grading methods are alll geared toward your success in the class. There are 13 quizzes and he keeps you 10 best. Calculus can be intimidating, but Fingerson helps.

Professor Fingerson is such a great teacher. You can tell he genuinely cares about students and wants us to learn. He's more than willing to work with you if you have extenuating circumstances and need an extension on a test, and is also willing to give you partial credit on test questions if you submit your work. I highly, highly recommend him.

Genuinely the best professor I have had at Normandale. He was so sweet, funny, and knew how to teach. I always felt prepared for exams and quizzes. He is extremely forgiving and will help you to succeed.

For future Multivar. students: Professor Fingerson makes Calculus III feel like an Algebra course. He graphs everything and makes it so visual. It is the best class I've ever taken. He accommodated my health issues when necessary, has extra credit, and made it harder to get a B than an A. There's homework, but lots of help. My B was my own fault.

BEST PROFESSOR. He's so good at explaining tough concepts and is very understanding and caring. Use his office hours, they help A LOT, especially when preparing for an exam. Exam has 2 parts;one take home (more conceptual stuff), and one traditional test. If you review the class handouts and quizzes you'll be fine for the test. Lots of extra credit

Patrick is extremely patient and equally (math pun - LOL) talented at teaching college algebra. This was a hybrid class with short online videos, online homework (instant grade on every question and 100 attempts/question), and in-class lecture, quizzes, and exams (1/2 take home and 1/2 in class). Utilize office hours and, if desired, the math lab.

Take his class!! I had Patrick for college algebra, and he was by far the best math teacher I've had. He is very understanding and will go out of his way to help you understand the material. As long as you pay attention in class (which was so easy in his lectures) you'll get the material. Super nice guy.

He was one of the best teachers I had this semester. Expectations were clear & he allowed students to show their work to get back some lost credit. He explains everything well. Warning: there are weekly proctored quizzes which are tough. It's only a few questions but they're important. Do the homework & you should be okay. Office hours are helpful.

An amazing professor for Normandale. Literally one of the best I've ever had. Super good energy in class and made our lives easier with concise and amazing lectures, that were at times both silly and informative. He cares about you too, if you need to miss class for some reason it's not a big deal, he'll give extensions and help you with problems.

Amazing professor!! He explained everything very clearly and his videos were straight to the point. Gives a couple chances for extra credit. A quiz and homework assignment every week. Quizzes + exams are proctored through honor lock. I always felt prepared for his tests. He gives amazing feedback and gives points back if you're on the right track.

I took the 8 week In Person Calc One course with Fingerson the summer this review was posted. He's absolutely phenomenal at explaining hard and complex topics. This was a Calc. 1 hybrid summer semester (8 week) class. Patrick is a fantastic instructor. He has a deep understanding of the material and truly knows how to teach it. There are some difficult concepts but he gives you every opportunity to succeed, and is readily available to help. Couldn't ask for a better instructor really.

Professor Fingerson was amazing! I have always struggled with math, but he helped me understand it well! Each week you will have a homework assignment to complete and typically a quiz to take in class. For each test, there were two parts, a take home and in class. He also allowed you to bring a formula page front and back!

Through out my whole schooling education, I've always struggle with math. Averaging a C+ or B- every single class. In Patrick's class, everything was just so thoroughly explained out, at a slow enough pace. he takes his time, while still going at a fast enough pace. Even when I was stuck, he was accessible outside of class to help. He is great.

Very nice teacher, Every week there is 1 homework done online, they are usually 20 questions. Tests consist 2 parts, take home and normal. Make sure to not miss a class, He also has videos you can watch explaning each subsection of a unit. Good Teacher, the best one at this school.

Patrick has been my favorite teacher at Normandale thus far. He is incredibly patient and caring. There are no dumb questions in his class, even if the question was just expalined before it was asked. If you actually show up to class, do the homework, and review for tests, you should get an A. I spent 9 hours a week on this course.

There are four tests throughout the semester which include two parts. His lectures are incredibly easy to understand because he is organized and provides examples. Best professor he makes things so easy to understand. I have never understood a new math unit so quick. He is willing to meet outside of class to help with math. I took him over the summer and I got a B because of the fast pace. He uses Web Assign. Also he does give partial points for the right strategy on a math exam. Definitely recommend!

Patrick was a great professor. His lesson plans were well organized and he brought energy to the classroom every day even if attitude was low. He was understanding of scheduling issues and was very willing to work with students to understand concepts they may have missed.

I took this class with a different professor and dropped out immediately because of how difficult it was, but when I took it with this professor, it felt like a completely different class. This was the best math teacher I've ever had. I had taken a long gap before college and hadn't seen an algebra class in 4 years but he explains things so well that it felt like I was never gone. He gives fair homework and tests. As long as you focus and do the homework it's a pretty painless class.
