Pretty good teacher overall, just a little dry and almost boring. I need an upbeat teacher that really engages the students and Mr.Finn wasn't quite that. But he follows his syllabus and makes sure you understand whats going on. Very willing to answer questions, always available after class for more clarification

Professor Finn always had amazing feedback and used your writing to explain if something could be changed. There were only 4 essays due, 2 assignments for each essay, 1 was brainstorming, 1 was introduction/thesis. Then he gives you feedback for each of those so you can write your essay knowing you are doing it right. He is great!!

Wonderful, fabulous professor who encouraged the development of my writing skills! Prof. Finn is more than willing to help students; this class challenged the way that I approached writing and helped me to exceed my expectations for writing better fiction! Hands down a great course with an even better teacher! Straightforward assignments!

I have always loved english but professor Finn took this to the next level. he's so funny and gives you the best feedback you could need. he's a writer himself so he's always happy to answer questions about how he got to where he is and he is very talkative. the class never felt like class, but more of a safe space to have fun.

Professor Finn's teaching style is one to remember. Very responsive outside of class and caring. Messaged him during the weekend regarding a family emergency that would require my absence the following Monday. He responded within the hour and shared his heartfelt sympathies. Thank you for a wonderful semester.

Don't get scared off by the first day, PLEASE. Professor Finn is genuinely one of the best teachers I've ever had. He gives wonderful feedback and wants the best for his students. He's always willing to give tips or proof read for you, and builds up rather than tears down. An amazing teacher. Please take this class if you need an ENG101 credit.
