Great Prof, Interesting class, easy marks if you read the notes and attend class. He often puts easy questions on the test just to see if you showed up, nothing to hard. The subject matter and material I found incredibly interesting and wanted to read it anyway.

Wonderful. He made me love Shakespeare! Lectures are incredibly entertaining and insightful. He encourages his students and takes a genuine interest in our progress. I was sad to see the semester end and I will be taking as many of his other classes as my major will allow. :)

While he talks very fast and avidly (he's a funny guy) you can't really take notes from his lecture, but he goes over reading material and his tests are too easy; coming to class alone will guarantee you an A. Very polite and respectful, I would take another of his classes again no question

Best English teacher that I have had in my four years at the University of Calgary.

This isn't a "class". It is a stand up comedy show, a theatrical performance and a community discussion. I am in awe at how Patrick Finn is able to engage the class with whatever material he is teaching. Tests are easy if you attend class, maybe too easy, but with that being said I don't think I have ever taken so much from a class.

This is THE EASIEST (not exaggerating) course you can possibly take in uni.! His midterm and finals are beyond easy such as matching author with title from the table of contents. Take home final: 2000 word essay (no wrong answer) and see some plays and write a response. WAY too much fun to consider a class. and a GPA booster for sure!

P Finn is awesome! He truely cares about every students success and last year he won the Teacher of the Year award. I would highly recommend taking any class you can with him!

Amazing prof! It was such a joy to come to class, I've taken all of his new classes: Creativity,Story,Love and Happiness. He wants you to do well and is relaxed about tests and assignments. He is always joking with the class, using pictures and videos to make class more engaging and has lots of class discussion. Take a class with him, its the best!

Such a great prof - the likes of which I have not seen since moving from Mount Royal to U of C. Enthusiastic, passionate, interesting and incredibly funny - he made every class a joy to come to although it was not necessary for me to attend to excel. Also opened my eyes to the amazing arts performances available at the U of C! Simply amazing.

Fine Arts 201 (Death and Destruction)is by far the best class I've ever taken. It's not mandatory to go to class but the material an discusions are so interesting, you won't want to miss one. If you watch the movies and read the plays, the midterm and final are a definite A+

Do not take advantage of Finn's classes or he'll change them. They are so good, but many skipped the events and class, which made him mad. Take it if you genuinely care about uni

Easily the best prof and class at the U of C. 1 Midterm, 1 Final and 1 project/essay. Also you need to go to 4 arts events (plays & theater) Don't abuse Finn, don't skip class or the events. We made him mad this year, and hes going to change his classes. He is the best prof and you'll learn lots about life, happiness and love. FINN IS A GOD

Awesome class, awesome proff, just read the textbook and you'll be fine and it's a good read. The only thing I didnt like about the course is sometimes his voice can get irritating. He's SO enthusiastic and it can get annoying sometimes but it was still my favorite class. Highly recommended...if you can get in lol

Dr. Finn is unreal. He really made why Shakespeare's contribution to the world of literature (and in general) are meaningful -- coming from a finance student who generally hates english, that's a compliment.

He is amazing. I took a course with him during my first semester and it was my favorite class. I visited his other class during my spare time just for the sake of attending his lecture. He is very understanding, has a great sense of humor and it is a pleasure just talking to him. Whenever I get an opportunity to take a course with him - I do.

My first A++ EVER!!! For me personally, only little "out of classroom" effort was required. Awesome course - Heroes and Villains. Awesome Professor. Do I need to say more ?!!

A+. Finn's classes allowed me to graduate & get into EVDS. Heroes & Villains was one of the best classes I have ever taken. The whole course was treated as a hero's journey, and you come out a better person in end. You watch a bunch of movies (Star Wars, Matrix,Dragon Tat) and read some books. We had two quizes, a final, and an essay/project

Dr. Finn is the coolest guy in the world- I'll never get sick of listening to him lecture. He's a brilliant mind who just loves what he does (ask him about Hamlet and you'll see what I mean). I would strongly encourage anyone to take a course with him, no matter what the subject matter. Very easygoing and understanding, but not a pushover!

amazing prof, really knows his stuff and goes beyond his time to help you out if you need any clarification. all you have to do is read his lecture notes and do all the work easy class. the best prof at this university.

Finn is my favourite prof. Ever. This course (happiness) made the end of my degree bearable. He's engaging and the course has huge relevance for real life.

Finn is awesome, i highly recommend taking all of his classes. I feel i learn more in his classes than in my business courses.

I became obsessed with this course very quickly. Heroes and villains is refreshing and fascinating. You learn so much about amazing characters and about yourself and your life. The course is easy as long as you put an effort.

I took the New Media version of this class. I was very disappointed. I have taken classes with Finn before and loved them a lot but this one was horrible! I wish I hadn't wasted an option on it because it really wasn't worth it. Still recommend his other versions of this class but avoid New Media.

Heard DRAM571 was supposed to be the easiest course at U of C. Perhaps it is, but not the New Media section. Extremely dry and boring, and it turned out to be quite a bit of work (essays, attending a minimum of 4 plays, write-ups, reading). I believe Heroes and Villains is the only good section to enroll in. I don't recommend New Media at all!

Patrick Finn is an amazing prof. His class is definitely an easy A and class is not mandatory, however people still attend!! His lectures are so inspirational that people choose to show up for a 7pm class. I had so much love for this love class.

Pat is nothing short of hilarious. His points are spot on but he respectful and welcoming of his student's opinions. I wouldn't necessarily classify this class as easy because there are 5 assignments and 2 tests but somehow it feels like much less work than any other class. I can say this class is a breath of fresh air and totally worth taking.

NOT THE EASY A IT WAS BEFORE. The class isn't too hard but you need to stay on top of the essays and he added in a group project component that he marks pretty fairly. If you're looking for an easy A, beware, it will surprise you.

The guys a real visionary who encourages his students. I would recommend this prof no matter what class you're doing. Very engaging and passionate about his work.

I'm a third-year computer science major and I took this class as an elective, best class I have ever taken. Made me a better individual, and taught me more than any uni course. Dr Finn cares more about his students than any professor I have ever encountered. Very clear, no tricks, lectures were profoundly interesting. Will never forget this course.

Dr. Patrick Finn is an AMAZING instructor. If you get the opportunity to be a part of any of his classes you should. He is not only extremely caring and compassionate to his students, he is able to joke and have fun. This professor will teach you way more than what the course advertises. Dr. Finn will teach you how to live a wonderful life.

Patrick Finn is one of those great professors that are hard to come by these days. You can tell that he is truly passionate about teaching and inspiring individuals. This class is a great GPA booster. There is no final, but the two tests are easy if you prepare for it. I would highly recommend this class to anybody who is able to take it.

He really cares about what he teaches. This enthusiasm can be contagious. Don't expect an easy A though. You'll get out of the class what you put in. He kind of throws ideas out like popcorn, and you're the one who puts it all together. This class may change your life.

Definitely a GPA Booster. No final. 2 tests that are easy and simple. go see 2 free plays for them. Project portfolio expectations are very ambiguous, but just do SOMETHING (literally anything - like a post about a ham sandwich if you want) and you'll get a good mark. You could skip 9/10 classes and still do well. Not an easier class on the planet.

It's not an understatement that by taking his class I came out as a better human being.

Probably the most easy going professor ever. He is super accommodating and understanding. Even if you spat into on an assignment, he would still take it in and think about why you did that and give you a mark for at least putting something on the paper. You would have to be brain dead or in a coma not to get a good grade.

Professor Finn is such a kind-hearted guy. He often says, "I care about working with you." This class (DRAM203-Creativity) is easy as well. Only one portfolio project which takes you only 3 hours to do it, and another one hour to edit it (By the way, he gives really good feedback).

truly one of the best profs i've ever had. not enough words to explain how much he genuinely cares for his students. also an easy class that could really benefit your future - theres no final and only one assignment due (a portfoilio), but throughout the semester it would have to be revised twice.

If being really nice and a king but doesn't fully convey what he wants from students because he makes the stuff seem super easy but in reality it isn't that easy, was a place, you would find him there.

If you're not confused, you're not in a Finn class. His classes are a gong show. He's really obscure + grading criteria is non-existent. You won't understand him. That being said, if you can breathe, you can get a good mark. Try hard with the 1st assignment he gives since he might not mark the others. Overall, GPA booster for those not in a coma.

This man is a true gem. I am currently in his class, it is always online (even without COVID-19). There are 4 assignments with each being heavily weighted but they are just a portfolio about you which I find pretty cool. The freest class I have taken so far and for sure is a GPA booster for those who are wondering.

Pros and Cons: By far the best class to not think of as a class, if you know what I mean? there are only 4 assignments and they are built on to each other so do your best on your first assignment. He does NOT answer emails and I don't even think you can even contact his TA. I have submitted all my assignments and I still don't have my marks back.

EASIEST GPA booster I've ever taken. Don't have to watch lectures if you can read the rubric for all 4 assignments. The portfolio doesn't take long and is a lot of fun. I did the class with some friends and they started their assignments the day it was due and still got 100%.

So many people complaining about no communication despite him having an OPTIONAL tutorial EVERY week. I went to every single one, just because hes a very inspiring person to get a second opinion. The dude was awesome, easy A+ with minimum effort, also very understanding of your situation and really focuses on independent creativity. 10/10

Dr. finn is a great prof, because he wants us to just write. He will extend the deadline of the essay when we need. As long as you have questions regarding to essay or other learning materials, he will answer you patiently, but one thing that is a bit not ok is he takes huge amount of time to mark the essay. Overall, nice prof.

The most inspirational prof i've ever had. He is genuinely a gem of a human and is so well spoken. You can tell he is passionate about what he does and teaches. Lectures are always recorded and posted on D2L if you miss a class. He is super accessible and easy to talk to. Genuinely wants his students to thrive. Highly recommend any of his classes.

This guy is the best prof I have had in my life. The course he teaches is vast but he does a beautiful job explaining it, the class feels so inspired when this guy speaks and you can sense it in the room. I was looking for a course gpa boost that wasnt bland and boring, he delivered and is one of my most fond memories from uni.

Patrick Finn is a super interesting professor and I highly recommend taking one of his courses if given the chance. He knows most people in the class are taking it as an elective and does an amazing job at making you reflect on his material and apply it to your life/industry and marks generously.

Dr.P is a great person. His lectures are really inspiring and honestly life changing. It is possible that he will not read your papers before grading them though, and he will interrupt you.

Professor is an entertaining lecturer, though can be disorganized. High grades mostly guaranteed, even with minimal effort. ChatGPT and unstuck ai were great study tools to prepare for this class.

The course is straightforward; if you are looking for an easy grade, go with this course with Patrick. However, I recommend you go to lectures. Not for the class, but because he is the most inspirational speaker and well-spoken professor I have ever listened to. His lectures still affect me to this day. I'm a D1 glazer for my boy Patrick
