Great guy. Has some corny jokes, laugh with him and ur golden. Assignments are cake and grades on effort and material. If your into early dismissal he dismisses classes early most of time so u can "brainstorm".

He is definitely not a misogynst. He is probably the opposite. He grades real easy, but he's a little nuts. The average class is like 25-35 minutes long. He gets real pissed at nothing out of nowhere while he's talking, which is amusing. You should take him even tho he looks like a big hick.

I dont know what that person with the frowning face did wrong, but I had him and he was GREAT and I am a female.when I had him I was the only freshman in my class and passed with an A. If you know what you are doing and do what is required of you to pass, you will pass, no if ands or buts about it

if you hate speaking in front of people, this is the prof. to definitely take! he's great! all you have to do is try and he takes that into great consideration. you have three speeches, one of which is a group speech. he's funny and lets you out early most of the time. i enjoy goin to class.TAKE HIM

Hill is an awesome guy. he is really helpful and very funny. he makes class fun and helps u to relax when you speak in front of the class. his teaching and lectures are clear and concise. he keeps the atmosphere in class light and comfortable. he notes good effort not just good public speaking. Hill Is the Man! Actually teaches and manages to be funny and have a good time all at once. Made going to class this semester enjoyable. He isn't the easiest teacher, but not the hardest either. He just expects that you pay attention and do the work. Really Good guy.

He does let you out early quite often and he's not a boring professor, but he is definitely not even close to being an easy grader.. For a Gen-Ed class that we have to take, you can find a more reasonable grader.. I'm an A student and I only walked away with a B+ when I could have gotten an A doing 3/4's of the work with another prof.

TAKE THIS TEACHER! He was lots of fun and is HILARIOUS. He keeps class fun and interesting. He almost always lets class out early too! Class was really easy, 3 speeches and 1 group speech. We used the textbook maybe twice, so save money and don't buy it. Show up to class, take easy notes, and FOLLOW THE ASSIGNMENT DIRECTIONS AND FORMAT. Easy A!

Definitely my favorite professor so far. He's such a funny, down to earth guy. the class is fun too no tests either just 3 speeches. Its pretty easy too just do well on the outlines and speeches, as simple as that.

TAKE HIM!!! he was definately the best professor i have had so far. he's so funny and really just wants you do well. as long as you follow his guidelines on the outline, you can't fail. he grades you on effort. there are no tests, no midterm and the final is a group presentation. in between that you have 2 five minute speeches. don't buy the book

fair grader. i got a B in his class only b/c i forgot to do my speech until like 20mins before class. he lets you out early. sometimes class was only 10mins. deff take him. he's laid back and very understanding. nicest prof I've ever had

Although attendance is mandatory, Hill's way of teaching always makes you want to go to class. If you are somebody who has a hard time speaking in public, I suggest you take Professor Hill as he makes you comfortable before presenting. The class, as a whole, has a great vibe which in turn will make it easier to present. So far, I have only got A+s!

Proff. Hill is really cool. He's very laid back as a person but when it comes to assignments he's vert stern. Very critical after you give a speech. Tests are easy if you look over the chapters.

he's the best professor. he's hilarious and his class is never boring. the only downside to him would probably be that he gets really defensive about a lot of things. if he doesnt personally agree with something in your speech, the rest of it won't matter because he's offended by that one opinion.

Professor Hill was the best professor I had this semester. He cared about everyone in class and made everyone feel comfortable. For a public speaking class, there is nothing to worry about if you are nervous. He walks you through your speech if you have trouble. Gives great advice and things to work on and tells great funny stories throughout class

Professor Hill is a really good speech professor, the best one in my opinion. He cares about his students while helping them become excellent public speakers. I'm going to miss his funny lectures they are memorable.

1. He is really an experienced web developer because our final group project is edited by one of our members and we cannot run it on our computers, he only took a few minutes to fix it for us which honestly cost us tons of time to find the bug. Really impressive. 2 Hilarious and open minded. We students can choose whatever we can learn. Cool!!

Professor Hill really cares about his students passing and makes the class interesting and gives everyone a pep talk before going up to present. But does give feedback after you present in front of the whole class.

Good guy. Funny. His grading isnt all that tough. Do what he says, follow the outlines and practice your speeches. Yes he does roast you in front of the class after your speech but its constructive criticism. No ones speech is perfect. Take him if you can!

Great professor he really cares. First lecture was about anxiety and he showed he really cared. I came in thinking I was horrible at public speaking but this class showed me Im not so bad. I could've gotten an A but every single one of my speeches were over time cause I talk to much. Practice your speeches and you'll def pass.

Patrick Hill seriously is great. He tries to make the class a warm environment and jokes a lot (he curses a lot too btw). He also is very knowledgeable. We have 3 major and one introductory speech and he gives great feedback. Be prepared for feedback in front of the whole class and he is very honest but never disrespectful. Overall great class.

He only graded 5 assignments the whole semester. You do 3 speeches on topics you basically get to choose. I took this online so idk how he was criticism wise in person, but we submitted most of our speeches on Canvas. If you're taking him online, show up, do the speeches on time and you'll get an A

He was very hilarious and cares for his students to pass. He may go off topic a bit when teaching, but that's his way of making us feel comfortable. He does give you feed back once the speech is done in front of the class. He won't call you out, but he will tell you what you did wrong, only to improve for the next speech. 100% recommend.

Overall, Professor Hill was a great professor. He made his lectures very engaging and was super funny. There's 1 beginner speech, 2 major speeches, 1 group assignment, and 1 term paper for this course. None of it was too bad, however, I feel like he could've done a better job explaining the directions & his feedback/humor was harsh at times.

He finished nearly every class early. 3 speeches, 1 final paper, 1 group speech. The group speech was most annoying because he picked the groups. He's full of funny stories and will curse a lot. Overall, I spent maybe 2-3 hours a week outside of class working on his assignments.

Loved this professor. 3 solo speeches, 1 group speech, and a paper. Worst part of his class is that he critiques your speeches right after you say them in front of the class, but honestly the advice is really helpful for future speeches. Grades very fairly. Probably my favorite professor I've had so far.

He is a great professor I feel a little too much work for gen ed but he will try his best to become a better speaker he will tell you about your speech in front of the whole class but it prepares you for the real world. This class was honestly pretty easy. He tends to crack jokes every here and there but honestly a very chill professor and just about all classes ended early. Would take this class again as it actually helped me in doing public speeches. He is also very caring when it comes down to if you're not in the right mindset to present.

The material isn't difficult. As long as you follow the guidelines and practice your speech many times you should be good. He can be picky sometimes but overall he is a good professor. He is funny and a nice guy. There is a paper due at the end though.

Wasn't sure I was going to like him at first but he's actually really funny and caring. He pushes you because he wants to see you succeed! He gave us free reign with our topics which was nice, only thing is that he critiques your speech right in front of the class, he's not mean about it but it's just kind of embarrassing lol.

prof hill made my semester lighter. he truly is a hilarious, good hearted man. He will hear you out and give feedback. The work is honestly just a flow of creativity you must build off, and he literally provided the tools and outlines to help your flow/ speech stay on track. He really radiates his passion for public speaking/ teaching. 10/10.

A teacher I would take again due to his humor. He is very generous when it comes to grading, other people might disagree due to him being quite strict which is not a bad thing for a professor. His tutor is very helpful and easy to talk to. I really liked this course due to it being a skill that is worth having.

Professor Hill is truly a good teacher I took Speech 101 with him during the summer and the one recommendation I would give is just to stay on top of your assignments and when he is giving you feedback for a speech/presentation you make in his class he is going to grade you for how loud you speak so make sure to be loud and clear.

Hill was super chill and funny all semester, and genuinely wants nothing more than for his students to succeed and be even better than how they entered his class. His rubrics are SUPER clear and he breaks down all the critiques for you at the end of your speech. I had him as my last class on a Friday and I didnt mind it, hes a good professor.

He's great! I took him in the winter (asynchronous). There were 4 assignments, each assignment has a clear criteria. The only way you can get a bad grade on an assignment is if you don't watch the lectures. He's VERY specific on what he's looking for, gives great feedback, and is hilarious. Anyone that gives below a 4 is in denial that he's great.

He's a great person who wants you to succeed, but you have to put in the effort to do so. Just be confident when presenting. I took him online this winter and was graded on four assignments. Just note: Use his Feedback to improve!!! If you do he will give you a good grade.

He is a really nice and funny guy. I had him fall 2024. His class was fun but he is a tough grader. He gives a lot of information so def come to every class. He does criticize you in front of the whole class after your speech and he does sort of have favorites. But as long as youre confident and actually try you should be able to get a good grade.

The funniest and kindest professor ever! He might be a tough grader, but he was always available and helped when I had questions. I get nervous around new people, but he made me feel right at home during the first lecture. He is hilarious, and I wish I could take this class all over again. I love professor love, NEVER creepy (no homo) ;)

He is super funny and straightforward.He is very clear of what he expects from students and as long as you follow those guidelines you'll be fine. You do have to put effort into your speeches, but he gives great feedback! His humor can come off as mean sometimes, but he is super chill. Just do not walk in or out of class while someone is presenting

He was really funny, made going to class fun. It was free comedy each day. He's very clear about what he wants from you and gave us only one group project. The first assignment is to gauge where you're at as a public speaker and you can have notecards to speak as well. The final assignment is just grading FDR's speech. Take notes and you'll be ok.

he's very clear on his expectations from his class, however there we're a few times i was a bit confused about some assignments. very articulate with his feedback & really looks at every part of you while your speaking. overall, great professor. very funny, always lightening the mood during lectures. freshmen he also swears so be ready for that lol

Professor hill is a nice teacher had him for eof he is hilarious he taught me to be a leader. he can strict while critique but it all just to help you at the end of day i would take this class again

he does cancel class regularly. mostly gives you the grade you deserve. if you cant give a speech by the time you graduate college, your fault. some of these comments are overly petty and portray him as more unfair than he is. he is not nasty, he regularly jokes with students and is a nice guy. would prefer if we could take notes digitally tho.
